Clown is buffed in the worst possible way (piss bottling yourself 24/7, almost no point wasting ammo/time on purple). Knight's new path is super fast and smooth but standard's change is rough and none of his bugs are fixed.

@WaveyTrey said:
The only “balance” Clown needed was that BOTH Flasks create a white cloud for 1-2 seconds before the color changes. Then adjust the spread/lingering of his gases via add ons.
If both tonics operated in a similar way the survivors must guess which tonic he/she thinks the Clown placed somewhere. This simple change, especially with old VHS that changed the colors of the tonics, would make Clown a better killer.
Until they do that Clown will always be a mediocre killer.Clown hasn't been a mediocre killer since january 2021, my dude. And it's on you if your smokes keep getting yoinked by survivors. This pretty much never happens in my matches.

Clown is very strong in 1v1, but apart from his antiloop he has nothing. :D he basically force pallet drop, 50/50 but then he has nothing else. All i see Clown using yellow bottle for is carrying to hook.
Yes and antiloop is the most important thing in a killer's kit. You can make up for lack of map mobility with your own gamesense and skill but you can never replace a bad chase power. And I will say it again, if the Clowns you go against only used yellow for hooking then you never played versus a competent one.

In fairness, the purple bottle is the most annoying thing about Clown so encouraging the well underused yellow piss bottles is probably not the worst idea. Clown can be pretty strong in chase if you do use yellow properly but I notice very few people ever do.
Not saying Clown is strong by any means but it does seem like one of the better parts of his kit is criminally under-utilised
It's "underused" by clueless Clown players.
-
DBD MMR and aggressive aren't two terms that should be used in the same sentence, lmao.
-
Doesn't matter. Sustaining iri items/addons hasn't been hard since years. Just use your White Wards.

- Adjusted the effects of purple bottles:
- Decreased the Hindered effect
- Decreased how long the Hindered effect lingers after leaving smoke
In short, the clown was simply nerfed without giving him ANY improvements, since the improvements to fast reload and fast walking while reloading will not help him catch a survivor in any way, just like yellow bottles that NO ONE will use anyway, the patch note about the clown should simply look like this: "Hello everyone, we are nerfing the main ability of a tier 4 killer without giving him ANYTHING useful
Maybe wait for the full numbers first instead of panicking. If purple bottle is losing 1 or 2% then it overall is a buff. If it's losing 5%/1sec or more then yeah it's likely an overall nerf.

Most clowns literally just do nothing but skilllessly throw purple after purple spamming hinder making the chase boring as heck because there isnt really one. I'd rather go against 100 ghouls in a row than the boring garbage gameplay that is clown bottle spammer as a baseline.
Gut the purple or its hinder value and emphasise the yellows more.
Trust me, you should be happy that those unoptimal Clown players don't use their yellow.

Can’t believe Clown got a nerf and PH slowing down when using trails sounds awful.
I’m guessing the ‘buffs’ will be like the Unknown changes where they add something to base kit but then nerf the addons and it’s actually an overall nerf when the new base is combined with the addons 😭At least Deja Vu got buffed so gens will go even faster 😂
PH already slows down when using trails. He's 110 during it so he'll now be 105, I suppose.

If you're sleeping on the yellow bottles then you really should reevaluate.
True but purples objectively are the most fun and skillful part of Clown's kit and those changes are clearly dumbing him down by putting both bottles usages in competition with each other. 1 yellow should not be worth 1 purple by default. People who love yellows more already can give the edge to their yellow bottles via addons, there's no need to reshape his default ecosystem like that.
-
Past the (semi)novelty effect, nobody will use this item ever again.

@rvzrvzrvz said:
Can you not nerf the clown's purple bottles ? we're not using the yellow ones because they buff survivors… why nerf clown at all when ghoul exist
No offense but that's on you if your yellows regularly buff the survs you chase. I however agree that their justification for nerfing purples is egregious. Yellow and purple bottles are complementary, they don't rival each other. It makes no sense to want Clown players to use both equally. Purples are a more "spammable" ability by nature, it has nothing to do with yellow being too weak or not.

Smoke bomb indeed turned out to be the new item. Disappointing.

Pig got buffed! Can't wait 😁
The only weak killer here is Pig.

But yet the game is balanced around these %.
Nothing wrong with balancing around high MMR players… In multiplayer games where MMR ranges actually make sense, that is.

Crying about the .00000000001% pickrate killer lmfao
Poor argument tbqh. Low pickrate should never be used as an argument to defend the existence of blatantly overtuned characters in video games.

bring a luck offering they're pretty common
If such a major part of the game's design can be made optional by bringing a common offering then maybe there's no reason for it to be optional in the first place.
-
Cheaters won't ever be fully gotten rid of in any multiplayer game. They're like herpes, we just have to live with this fact in mind.
-
As pretty much anybody with experience with DBD (something BHVR game designers do not seem to have) expected, the recent unhook changes are doing more harm to the honest normal player than to the hot-tempered crybabies giving up on first hook. The fact that this also all can be reverted back by simply bringing one offering is also a very… interesting decision, to say the least.
-
Mostly-casual playerbase + alone versus 4.

You're really catching L's like it's Pokemon this anniversary. First reduced cakes drop rate, now this, holyy.
Let's not forget about their reluctance to do anything about those ridiculous killer event abilities. Apparently, survivors are meant to enjoy matches where pallets are basically cosmetics.

I'm of the opinion that the penalty should've been greatly reduced once bots were introduced. Now that the Abandon feature is here, all we need is backfilling and then there's no reason to have a penalty at all. Or if we MUST have one, let it cap at 5 minutes.
All that cracking down on things like this and routinely pulling players out of the game does is negatively affect matchmaking, which used to be the hill that BHVR was always willing to die on.
So you want to kill this game, got it. Stick to coop games if you don't mind playing with bots.
-
Why nerf Nurse when you can nerf Springtrap.
-
Map voting makes zero sense in a game like DBD. I know BHVR often makes questionable choices but I can't imagine them greenlighting such feature.
-
Those afk and, most especially, self-unhook changes did a better job at making the game worse for normal players than for griefing ones.
-
Same reason killers like Huntress and PH are so unfun to go against. They create lose-lose situations for survivors on windows and dropped pallets.
-
Yeah but he has low pickrate so we're supposed to pretend he isn't.
-
Only 2435 bugs left to fix! Maybe by the end of 2026 Dracula and Slinger's animations will work correctly again.
-
What an original thread.
-
"When will killer players stop ignoring our rulebook?"
-
Has to be unintended.
-
All they had to do was preventing self-unhook attempts for the first or 2 minutes of the match. The AFK crows changes were asked by nobody, not even killer mains. The only crow-related overhaul that was, was the collision hitbox getting removed.

I've yet to see the system punish the wrong people though.
Hiding and not touching gens sometimes is the only viable thing you can do. Is someone stealthing when only one teammate is remaining and being slugged/hooked a "wrong" player?
-
Dawko is not brand new to the game, lol. He's been playing since the game's launch 9 years ago.
-
@UGhostiiU said:
I'm sorry but this new AFK system is horrible. Are you saying that if I have a slugged teammate and I need to hide and try to get around a patrolling killer, I get a crow? So if I'm stealthy, I get crow? No. Remove this system and rework this again.
Why even rework? Who asked for a rework of the AFK system in the first place?
-
My tip is; Don't play killer on controller.
-
How long does it take to fix Dracula's switch animations, holy hell
-
Those aren't the issues with this killer. The "kidnap tech", is.
-
Even though they improved it slightly, no more free hits is not as fun as before

Because she's extremely difficult to play, and the effort it takes to get to that level with Nurse is the same as the effort it takes to become a SWAT team on survivor. Want to nerf Nurse? Survivor as a role needs to be rebalanced because there isn't an equivalent to it anymore.
No one wants that. It makes the game as a whole less fun for everyone, all for a killer that barely anyone plays anyway
No offense but nothing in DBD is "extremely difficult to play" and I wouldn't even put Nurse in the top 3 highest skill ceiling in the game.
-
He'll be the 10th anniversary killer. Screencap this.

"We acknowledged your complains about The Nurse and consequently decided to further nerf The Artist. Thank you for your encouragement, support and feedback, as always." - Behaviour Interactive

And you should "of" stayed at (elementary) school.
-
Honestly; no. Not only because SW really isn't horror-adjacent at all but because Vader would straight up feel corny in DBD. We already see him in enough crossovers as it is.
-
and of course they have been receiving praise online for it
This is sarcasm, right?

@xGodSendDeath said:
PLEASE allow killers to abandon whenever and replace them with bots. That would be awesome. I'd bounce every time I get matched vs cringe compies treating the pubs like it's major league gaming
No thanks. I'd rather keep seeing the match end immediately. Go play the tutorial custom match against Trapper if you want to play against bots. Also, don't bother playing PvP games at all if "compies" frighten you this much.

@Cetren said:
They don't really bother me that much, but you can do a pretty easy install of old rarity icons if you so choose. Here's the link: https://nightlight.gg/packs/old-rarity-default-icons?search=old-rarity-default-icons
It might be nice if BHVR added a legacy rarity toggle so people could do it in game but, this should fix it for now.
This mod doesn't fix everything, unfortunately.

Is Victor gaining the ability to enter chases, for the sake of game balance, or so survivors can get more bloodpoints?
One of the biggest benefits of Victor is that he wasn’t forced to listen to purposely loud chase music, that hides important survivor noises.
Being able to easily hear survivors through walls, is much more important than Victor being able to entity block windows, and this chase is a huge game balance change for Victor.
Because of this whole thing is being done for the sake of survivor points, then can we have a reduced volume chase music for Victor, so he isn’t getting stomped with a major disadvantage from this update? No way devs would be this clueless about their own game (r-right?). It clearly was meant as a nerf to the killer.

It was done to make the game more friendly to new players, as the colors are more in tune with other games. Same with how challenges are now called quests.
Because previous new players always struggled with the colour yellow as we all know.

Checks out.
