Ah ok like R6 seige. Only if the killer agrees too. Imagine a Myers going for the evil incarnate achievement only to get Survivors with the option to surrender.

I don't think letting the killer agree would be a good idea as the killer could reject it to BM and we would be back at square one.

For the evil incarnate achievement you can't mori down survivors so it wouldn't change much unless you accidentally downed them. Plus survivors can screw over the killer by going into a locker anyways.

I don't imagine any other negative consequences for killers as a result of this feature unless they're doing a mori daily and that can be worked around. Of course if there is something I missed you can tell me.

And deny anyone the chance to have their chance if they have unbreakable or wiggle free. It's selfish to throw in the towel for your whole team just because you've had enough. Just deal with it a moment longer if you're in such a losing position.

I think you misunderstand. For my suggestion all survivors would have to agree to surrender. If even one person disagrees the match would continue so you could still use your unbreakable or flip flop.

I edited the OP to make this more clear. Sorry about the confusion.

If you can't take losing then this game definitely isn't for you. Try something easier and more mindless

If you are surrendering then that means that you admit that you lost. It's just a way to save time.

That's why the EGC was introduced, so the killers wouldn't have to waste time chasing out survivors that are BMing.

  • @DemonHunter5836 said:

Works unless killer slugs for hatch. Basically gives the unslugged survivor a free escape.

My suggestion is when the slugged survivor surrenders, they exit the game, but leave a "husk" behind in place of where they were slugged. The slug can move to the next game without having to waste 3 minutes crawling around, and the game can continue for the 4th survivor and the killer.

Not what I'm suggesting. I'm saying when ALL remaining survivors are downed they can all vote to surrender.

In your scenario the 4th survivor is still up, so they wouldn't be able surrender.

  • @MightyDwight said:

Would it also pause any hatch opening? Because I could see this being abused to deny a Killer a 4K players think he 'did not deserve'.

And considering I've had MANY someones call me a camper because they unhooked in front of me; they don't really get to decide if I 'deserve' my 4K.

Or the guy who thought it was BM for me hitting him under the hook he unhooked his friend from WHILE he was healing. Like, I stood there and got 100% stalk as Ghostface, and hit the healer NOT the guy he unhooked..but he thought I had to let them heal.

So yeah; I will say no to mechanics that can be abused by the opposing team (be they Killer or Survivor).

I think you misread. What I'm suggesting is when all 4 survivors are either slugged or sacrificed, they can choose to surrender, which will kill all survivors if agreed and give the killer any bloodpoints, emblem points or perk tokens they would have gotten otherwise.

The killer will still get a 4K, I don't see many ways to abuse this unless the killer had a Mori daily and then they downed all survivors before moring them, and even then that can be worked around.

It's basically just really technical. To keep it simple, there's a "calendar" that says what perks are in the shrine when, and it's randomly generated. So for example, "This week it's W, X, Y, and Z. Next week it's A, B, C, and D."

When 3.3.0 launched on PC and the other consoles, that calendar needed to update to match the Archives (certain perks needed to be in the shrine for challenges). The update wasn't on Switch, though, so the Switch version was still using the old calendar. Now that the update is out on the Switch, they should be back in sync, but that shrine is over.

You said that you could change it at any time without the need of an update multiple times, and when we were asking for a response during that week there was none.

  • Yeah multiple posts were made by me about BBQ but I got no response from any devs. I guess they just ignored it so we can buy it later. 😔

  • You'll get them back in the next patch, when they give these cosmetics to everyone.

  • @EverflowingRiver said:

It is sad that we never got an answer about the missing perks. They haven't even added any of the new cosmetics to switch for those that want them.

I think that the new cosmetics are in the 3.3.0 update so we would have to wait until it released for us to get them.

  • @SpotTheBunny1 said:

I really hope they are able to treat Switch players like PS4 and Xbox One players, and that they add cross-platform so me and my brother can play it together when we get it for Switch.

They are looking into cross play and cross saves. They mentioned it in their new survey.

  • @EverflowingRiver said:

Hey, but at least sprint burst is back in the shrine again... -_-

Hey look at the bright side, if sprint burst came back so quickly, then maybe BBQ will too!

    Yeah who am I kidding.

  • @MPUK said:

We were specifically told on this forum that we could get it from the shrine.

That was the case until the latest shrine where we didn't get BBQ but we have previously had Knockout. So BBQ was deliberately withheld from Switch players.

Yeah the week that the Switch was released we got knock out. The shrine is the only way to get these perks since they're not unlocked at base. They withheld the perk from us and kept quiet in hopes no one would say anything.

  • Yeah they ignored us for a week so that we don't get BBQ and have to buy Leatherface. It's pretty rude to first tell us that the perks are unlock at base, to telling us we can get them from the shrine, to keeping one of the best perks out of our hands.

This @peanits, is why we're upset. We don't want it for free, we just want the fair chance that everyone else got, from the only place we can get it. And now due to shrine rules we're gonna have to wait, what, 6 weeks or so for it to be able to come back.

Yeah I'm upset as well. I made multiple posts and even messaged him directly and he ignored every single one. How convenient that when BBQ is on the shrine, they don't give it to Switch, after telling us we can get it through the shrine.

Does this @Peanits thing work anyways?

  • Bumping this thread cause I would like to get an answer before the shrine resets.

In fact, that's even what some devs told us, that they thought they were base pool perks. It was only about a week or 2 after release that they stated that the only way to get the perks is through the shrine.

And then they go and switch the shrine for everyone else who A) either already has it or B) has the ability to buy the characters for the perks anyway. Meanwhile, they still haven't changed it for us, so due to shrine rules, it'll be WEEKS until it comes it the shrine again. It's hard NOT to feel screwed by them.

Look, if they'd come out and say "yes, we're going to deliberately change the shrine for switch people when they get the rift just like we switched the shrine for PC, PS4, and Xbox," I'll let it go, because it's only a matter of time until it comes out. But they haven't said that, which is why we're all frustrated.

Just tell us switch players we'll get the same manipulated shrine that everyone else did @Peanits .

I agree, it's super unfair that the other platforms that already have BBQ has the shrine while the rest of us don't. I made several threads about this and no one has clarified about this in six days, even while Peanits is answering questions in other threads. I've also noticed that they have no shrine post on their Twitter like they usually do. It's like they're waiting for this to blow over so that we buy Bubba when he comes out. It's been 2 months and we have been missing 9 perks and only 1 has appeared on shrine so far (Knock Out), while everyone got Bills perks before he was on all platforms.

  • @Mr_K said:

I thought switch didn't have Leatherbilly's perks at all.

We don't, but we can unlock them on the shrine. BBQ is on the shrine, but only on PC, PS4 and Xbox. We have an old shrine.

I was assuming the former and they're aiming to release those chapters once able. At least in bill's case it was only pc had him for a long while meanwhile here it's just switch that's behind (due to license issues I assume).

Yeah the Nightmare license was passed to Wes Craven a while back so that complicates things. Don't know about Leatherface though. Still it sucks being able to get the perks of those chapters only on the shrine.

  • Yeah and we don't have the update either. I get that the switch is less powerful and needs more attention but it's still frustrating. I hope we do get the missing chapters for the next patch or their perks as common perks.

  • @CrowFoxy said:

Wait they didn't just make BBQ a general pool perk? Console survivors just could get Bill's perks til he released.

They did say that, and Peanits told me that directly. But then they went back on it and told us we can get them from the shrine. And now the shrine has it and we can't get it. It sucks.

  • @S_Panda said:

As far as I know the shrine only changed because of the update, which switch hasn't gotten. I know before the update ruin was on there because I was keeping an eye on the shrine for a friend.

Yeah we have ruin, stake out, thanatophobia and dance with me. They changed it because they needed empathy on the shrine for the archives. But they told us before that changing the shrine doesn't need an update so they should be able to change it on Switch.

  • @Gibberish said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/802110#Comment_802110

That doesnt change the amount of matches needed mate, it just means you do the challenges simultanously as the matches.

Its still 8-ish matches a day, every day.

But you forgot the bonus exp from playing survivor or killer for the first time every day. It's actually 6.8 matches.

  • @Gibberish said:

500 EXP per match on average, 800 EXP per Rift Fragment, 10 Rift Fragments per level 8000 EXP per Rift Tier = 16 matches per Tier. 70 total tiers x roughly 16 matches per tier = About 1120 matches to go from Rift Tier 1 to Rift Tier 70 Tome Level 1: 93 Total possible fragments (9.3 Tiers) Tome Level 4: 85 Total possible fragments. (8.5 Tiers) Assuming Tome Levels 2 & 3 also give a similar amount of Fragments: About an average of 88.5 Fragments per Tome Level 88.5 x4 = 354. So, again assuming Tome Levels 2 and 3 give a similar amount of fragments, completing ever tome challenge will net you 35.4 Tiers worth of Rift progress. 70 Tiers -35 = 35. So doing every challenge completes only half the rift.

TLDR: This means you still need to play about 560 matches to complete the rift, even if you actually complete EVERY single challenge.

The Rift closes in 68 days from now, so you would have to play about 8 matches a day, every single day.

So unless Tome Levels 2 & 3 give way, way, way more Rift Fragments than Tome Levels 1 & 4, you still need to do an absurd amount of grinding to complete the Rift.

Remember when they said they wanted the Rift to be completeable by average players? Lmao. Guess that was a lie, nobody is gonna finish this without paying unless they are a total addict.

You're forgetting the 600 exp you earn from playing killer and survivor every day.

    35 tiers = 280000 exp

    600 × 70 = 42000 exp

    280000 - 42000 = 238000 exp

    Assuming 500 exp every match

    238000 ÷ 500 = 476 matches

    476 ÷ 70 = 6.8 matches a day

Tell me if I'm wrong in my calculations, just wanted to clarify this before misinformation spreads.

    EDIT:

If a match is 10 min

    6.8 × 10 = 68 min

Not quite a bug. The shrine needed to be refreshed for The Archives, since we want to make sure that any teachable perks that you need are available in the shrine (in this case, Empathy).

Enjoy the BBQ & Chili while you can.

Peanits please put the same shrine on Switch. We can't get BBQ on Switch so after this week we won't be able to get it for months.

  • Yeah it seemed to happen when the update launched by Peanits has said that they don't need an update to change the shrine. It's supposed to be done by the back end.

Naww I feel so sorry for you Switch users! But I'm pretty sure they will give their best to get it to you guys as soon as possible!

Yeah I hope they use the time to smooth out the bugs and glitches as there are a few on Switch.

  • Half hour wait times? I play on Switch and survivor games are instaneous while you have to wait a few minutes for a killer game.

Plus bad survivors are in all platforms so you might as well shut down DBD as a whole with that logic.

Overall it was a nerf, being able to move full speed holding corrupt was amazing so compared to what they buffed it’s an overall nerf.

regardless of whether it was a buff or nerf, it was stated they never change anything based on PTB and I said they do.

I argue it was an overall buff. If you watch matches of high ranked Plague gameplay you see that most survivors don't cleanse, therefore limiting use of your corrupt purge. I say that infectng survivors easier is worth more than 115 movement speed while holding corrupt purge.

I do agree that they do listen to PTB feedback. I don't know why people say they don't change anything from PTB when one look at the patch notes prove them wrong.

  • @johnmwarner said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/775605#Comment_775605

Well, they did nerf Plague, but you’re right they very rarely actually use it as a test it’s more like a teaser to create hype

You forget that they also buffed Plague by increasing the corrupt puke timer and increasing the time gens and totems stay infected. Even then her nerf, that her movement speed was reduced with a fully charged puke, that didn't really affect her as most survivors stay sick.

If you're going to mention a change, at least take the rest of the changes in consideration. Otherwise you're just being dishonest.

  • @CakeDuty said:

I like the idea of the rework a lot! Though I feel like it might have a bit too many advantages. You've basically taken Iron Will and Lightweight and putting it into the perk. So it's like 3 perks in one. I know you have to "work" to get those advantages, but still seems fairly strong. I'm all up for aura reading getting reduced for each hook though, that'd make the game actually useful. Then keep the bleeding effect and grunts reduced by like 50%, so it doesn't overshine Iron Will.

I get what you mean as I thought about this as well, but I don't think it outshines Iron Will or Lightweight. You have those perks from the start while you have to wait for five hooks to be completely silent. Its a matter of if you want to be silent all the time or if you want it later with other benefits.

It may seem like a lot, but I think that killers have lots of other perks and powers to track you like crows, screaming or info perks. Although if I had to compromise I would remove the scratch marks bonus as I want people to use this perk the killer whether healthy or injured. You do raise a good point.

Dude I play this game everyday on both sides , I'm not being biased at all . Now if I had zero positive answers that would be different, with this game you either like it or you don't , even the people with moderate feelings have negative thoughts on the game in order to feel that way

Not saying you are biased, just saying the creating balanced answers leads to more insightful data as you can see who feels mostly positive about the game with some negative thoughts as well.

As for me, I'm looking forward to seeing how the archives plan out for the next update.

  • @Kasaki said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/752729#Comment_752729

Well the answers are that way because most people either love the game or hate it , there's an option to be positive but I mean other than that if you're not 100 percent positive then you feel some sort of negative way right? Otherwise you would love it .

Then you should include something like two positive answers, two negative answers and a neutral one.

An important rule of making polls is to not be bias or to lead respondents. That way you can get more useful data.

  • @Blueberry said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/752563#Comment_752563

They wouldn't need to because they've got a 1 shot from Iron Maiden waiting on their M1 though right?

Unless they're right in front of the locker, an 110% Huntress won't be able to catch a survivor in 15 seconds.

I get what everyone is saying about how it counters stealth but a lot of other perks also counter stealth (Stridor makes hiding impossible even with Iron Will for example). If there were any good aura blocking perks it would be a different story but the only ones we got are Sole Survivor and Distortion, and they are both either mediocre or trash.

You could do an easy solution and increase the exposed timer to 60 seconds, but then we run into the same problem of survivors only falling for it once. At that point you might as well take Haunted Grounds, unless you're a Huntress.

  • @FoxWolfFrostFire said:

Okay. I'm confused. Is BHVR functioning on like...a five man team or something? I don't know that much about how many people they have working for them but this is getting out of hand. This patch offers up NOTHING. A buff to perks NO ONE RUNS! Those buffs aren't nearly good enough to change that...Maybe. The Tap perk change might see it getting more use

But right now this is just ######### gross. This Drizzle of adjustments is NOT enough. They need to take more extreme approches to their their PTBs. Anything that is CLEARLY a bad idea during can be cut, anything with merit can be put on the shelf and worked on over the next few months. It is like this company is too scared to roll back ideas or try adjusting a lot of things at once. But if they do it on the safety of the PTB, it could go through some cleaning before hand and filtered out!

You're also forgetting that the archives and rift was introduced in this patch, something they have been working on since at least Ghostface. With a new feature like this, there wouldn't be enough time for a full patch of changes.

  • To be honest, I don't think the base changes are that big of a deal. She'll have a blink after fatigue and I see streamers that are able to down survivors with a single blink. I think it will create an interesting dynamic of waiting for the second blink or using the first blink straight away, which rewards higher skill players. The change will probably affect her map pressure more, as she won't be able to use all blinks in a row.

Anyways, there's little use speculating unless we can play/watch it ourselves. We needed the PTB in the past to show how broken Ghostface was and how Demogorgon should break pallets, so we need to wait before making a final opinion.

  • Can someone tell me the killers that got the undetectable status effect? I don't have access to all the power info's.

  • @Peanits said:

Should be fairly soon. We tend to do hotfixes for two or three weeks after an update these days (as necessary). Afterwards it ends up being more worthwhile to wait for the mid-chapter.

Is the dev team aware of the bloodweb glitch for Switch where only 2 perks appear and the absence of Freddy's and Bubba's perks on Switch?

There wait times must be atrocious! I mean, it's not like the Switch console audience is exactly geared towards DBD-like games. Sorry to stereotype!

Actually survivor games are almost instaneous. Killer games can take around like 2 minutes though but that might be due to many people playing killer.

Trying to get an idea on how many people out there are experiencing this. It's happening to me so much that I don't think I'm going to play until it's fixed.

Have you been using Dying Light? I think there's a bug with it that crashes the game.

  • @JawsIsTheNextKiller said:

I'd hate this against Hillbilly but I'd love it playing as Leatherface. I'd rather it stay as it was to avoid giving Hillbilly another buff and just accept that I can't make good use of it on Bubba.

But there is a 40 second cool down when it is activated, so Hillbilly won't be able to activate it over and over in a short timeframe. Removing the basic attack requirement won't buff Hillbilly anymore than Leatherface or any other killer for that matter.

  • If a survivor is affected by the Oblivious status effect, will they be able to use perks that only function in the terror radius like for example Borrowed Time, Diversion and Stake Out?

  • That's the way there making maps now, more pallets but there more unsafe after being dropped. From what I saw on twitch the loops are a lot smaller so the killer can do more mind games at that loop. It's working well for Badham so I say this map is fine as well.

  • @ItsYourBoyGuzma said:

    OKAY thanks!"

Yeah, that happened a lot with the weekly Q&A. I think if they were spread out every 2 or 3 weeks you would get a lot more useful questions.

  • When will the new scores for wiggling and surviving be introduced?

  • With the previous patch, there were a number of critical bugs with perks and add-ons that negatively impacted both killers and survivors for an whole week. My question is that is there a way for BHVR to develop a system where perks and add-ons can be disabled without the need for an update.
