The flashlights work because the Entity says so. Same reason Nemesis is impeded by a flimsy chunk of plywood falling on him despite being a 9 foot tall superweapon built like a small bus.

The Blight just wants hugs, not hugtechs.

Sounds like your typical skinwalker creepypasta.

Putting the tape in the VCR even faster now? One thing I always hated with Sadoko putting a tape in should never be faster than a M1 cool down. Survivor should always be the one to go down if they try to do it in the killer's face.
It takes 1 second.

I want to like this killer so much but the game is doing its best to stop me.

I do wish we had more events centered on DbD itself rather than just holidays. The Halloween event tying into lore about the Void was pretty cool, I'd like to see more stuff like that.

It's a gamemode that lasts for a single week and is not meant to be perfectly balanced. Some killers are going to be better than others with the given modifiers.
The game mode doesn't need to be competitively viable. Let it be a casual mess.
It's not about being competitive, it's about being playable.
This is not playable. I hope it doesn't come back.

We kind of have it, but random perks and items. Another one would be Prop Hunt.
Seconded, we need a randomizer mode. Perks, items, add-ons.

Thank you very much, this helped me get the last piece of the new Deathslinger outfit.
-
So, bumping this because this challenge should be over by now, shouldn't it? Has anyone received the prizes from it?
-
You have a good point but my cynical side tells me that few people will want to play it when they can't bring their favorite toys with them. No gen regression, no exhaustion perks, no Windows of Opportunity...
I think BHVR is making a good call when they're making this a limited time thing. I think the best way to handle all these side-modes they're working on is to make them intermittently available, on a rotation, so that they don't overstay their welcome and wear the novelty off too fast.
I think it would also be a good idea to offer bonus rewards for playing them since these modes might be more difficult/unbalanced than regular play.

Nothing happens in this game without half a dozen threads griping about it. I have my issues with the game too and I voice them here and there but it's just a video game, it's not worth wallowing in misery over, so I don't.
-
Thanks for this, can't view DbD's Twitter account myself.
-
On-topic, I exclusively play soloQ and it is a diceroll. I have some days where my games are absolutely awful, nothing goes right, multiple matches of everyone dead at 5 or 4 gens. And then I have good days where everyone is trying their best, doing generators at a reasonable pace, putting in decent chases, and helping each other. Sometimes I end up in matches where the killer is stomped so hard that it's not even fun. I love to win but I know survivor isn't designed to win all the time, the more important thing is playing a productive and interactive match that lasts longer than 5 minutes.
Currently sitting at Gold II on survivor, hoping to breach into Iridescent grades before the reset.

Play 24hrs DBD marathon twice a week with minimal (every 3hrs) short (10-15min) breaks stretched out during the 24hrs sessions, for 3mths, and record your stats.
SoloQ hasn’t changed.
That sounds extremely unhealthy to do for any video game. Why the hell would you do that? No one should do this.

They still aren't as good as they used to be, but it's better than it has been recently.
It still feels like they're just using an AI to write these.

Could you give a bit of context for your request buddy? Because it doesnt make that much sense and wouldnt help anyone. Would make the killer more unhealthier and playing against him would be miserable, hes in a good spot, hes strong but counterable at the same time maybe one of the few well balanced killers in the game. BUT He does have this little mechanic I mentioned in the post, that encourage tunelling with little to no skill, which can be fixed super easy.
If hooking removed the infection, and you still has 12 First-Aid Spray uses, then there is 0 chance of survivors ever running out no matter how often the Wesker landed his bounds. At that point, the infection mechanic exerts no pressure at all, it would barely exist, it wouldn't matter anymore.
-
If you lose the infection on hook then the First-Aid Sprays should be nerfed to single-use.

I'm sorry, did you just say people running spirit fury + enduring are bullies? Has the playerbase really become this sensitive?
No, they said Billies, as in Hillbilly players.

Blindness counters a lot more perks than WoO, and most of them are the fun kind survivors tend to not run.
I speak from the perspective of both roles when I say the Blindness on Ultimate Weapon should go. I don't like having my fun niche builds disabled by a perk the killer's mostly running for info anyway, and I also don't think the killer benefits much in any direct way from the Blindness on Ultimate Weapon, it's just a potential upside you'll not be able to tell is doing anything.
What fun builds do you run that are shut down by Blindness?
-
Every time killers are given something fun to play, the forums erupt into complaints about it. It's hard to take seriously after seeing it happen so many times.
-
I had a bad 3-gen match against a Skull Merchant the other day, but it was a 3-gen we as a survivor team did to ourselves, and we did manage to break it eventually, though the Skull Merchant still got a 2K.
It was pretty bad and unenjoyable but at least it ended eventually.
-
Because if it was, then any time any killer slugged any survivor for any reason ever would become a gray area of game reports that would cause thousands of more problems.
-
It's an experimental work in progress and BHVR probably doesn't want to split the playerbase between regular game and side modes for too long.
-
I think it's not the length of the tail attack cooldown that bothers me, but the extremely slow speed it reduces you to. If they could increase that somewhat, Xeno would probably feel less awful to play as.

In a single player game, sure.
In a game where the other players' skill has to matter as well, and you shouldn't just repeatedly get chance after chance after chance to one-shot them without penalty, no.
It is also a 1v4 game. If simple errors make chasing just 1 survivor too difficult then playing against all 4 becomes horrible. That's what old Hillbilly was, why he was so bad, and why nobody played him.

What is the counterplay to every aura perk?
You just hate Ultimate Weapon because you're aware of it's existence when you scream.
Why is UW a problem but Darkness Revealed isn't?
If survivors always knew when aura perks were being used on them, there'd be constant demands to remove them from the game. UW makes itself obvious so it's easy to point a finger at when it works.
Having said that, I do think its active duration should be reduced, to limit its utility to finding survivors in a specific area as needed rather than traversing the whole map and finding everyone like a radar.
-
Tail feels awful to use. Even when I manage to hit with it, it doesn't feel satisfying. Lost all motivation to play Xeno, which is tragic for a guy like me who loves Alien.

I'm pretty sure a med kit can only fully heal you now if it has addons now and it's way slower than before anyways considering you're wasting a whole item to heal yourself it shouldn't be so slow considering the pace of the game is much faster these days.
Tell me how many times you see flashlight in your lobby and how many people even know how to land a blind? Also lightborn these days doesn't make it take longer to blind but it negates it completely.
My main point of the post was survivor game play and how stale it's been since the game inception.
Also you're just justifying using items with the help of perks and addons. Why waste so many resources to make something good?
You don't have to take my post serious I'm just a casual dbd player that has been playing for years. I just wanted to voice my POV on survivor gameplay knowing that nothing will change and to see if others feel the same.
And lastly My main point of the post was survivor game play and how stale it's been since the game inception. All a survivor can do is run and do gens which is fine but it gets old and that's why games have different game modes. But the devs are so fixated on making mediocre outfits that they forgot to keep the game fresh.
I'm pretty sure a med kit can only fully heal you now if it has addons now
You are wrong.
it's way slower than before anyways considering you're wasting a whole item to heal yourself
How is it a waste when it is doing exactly what it is supposed to do? Self-healing is powerful, always has been, it's why Self-Care and CoH and medkits were nerfed in the first place. If it's easy, it's unbalanced.
-
The screaming hasn't bothered me much, but then I heard Saga Anderson's. Her screams are so piercing, I hope BHVR re-records them because it is awful to listen to, like nails on chalkboard.
-
I wish the injury mechanics of Razor Wires and Interlocking Razor were basekit. There is blood flying out of the Jigsaw Boxes while survivors search them but I have to equip add-ons for them to actually get hurt when they mess up.
Include that with the removal of search regression and I'd be fine with it. And yes, please buff her stealth and Ambush so that it's usable.
-
I'm sometimes getting framedrops so bad that it skips skillchecks and goes straight to the gen exploding. Even with FSR active. It's immensely frustrating.
-
When Deep Rift was first introduced, I had hoped every Rift would have its own Deep Rift coloration. Like the first could have been blue, the next could have been red, then green, something like that. A rotating cycle of unique color schemes would have been nice. I like blue but I like variety more.
-
I've heard some say that if the targeted generator is blocked, Pain Res doesn't consume a token anymore. Before it would consume the token but not regress the generator at all, wasting it completely, so maybe they changed that.
-
Yeah the white lights don't look very good. Skull Merchant's drones cause bad enough visual clutter already, especially when clustered together, turning them white makes it even worse.
-
I agree the mend add-ons are bad. You're putting in time and effort to shoot a survivor, reel them in and hit them, just to drop chase so they can mend somewhere else for... 2 seconds longer, at best? What's the point in using my power on survivors only to let them go? Especially such a slow power.
I think he needs an add-on pass, like a lot of other killers do.
-
med kits can't even fully heal you anymore
That's news to me. They were working just fine yesterday.
-
Wraith still has collision while he's invisible, yes. It's a fairly common Wraith tactic to use their faster speed to bodyblock vaults and pallets before survivors can reach them, then decloak to attack.

I agree with you, I don’t think it was intentional.
My sister and cousin used to be super into the punk scene and I remember that Doc Martens with red laces meant neo-nazi/white supremacist.
I think it's reasonably obvious that the red laces on black boots exist solely to match the entirely red and black ensemble Nea is wearing. The whole get-up is two colors, the shoes are just matching. Anyone rational person could work that out.

For what it's worth, deadline does have a benefit that you may have missed in the description. It gives more skill checks which is super good for builds that you want skill checks on, not to mention more chances at bonus repair. I remember otz getting frustrated because he was running the build where your toolbox recharges itself after enough skill checks pass and he could barely get any skill checks to show up to even use the build, lol.
I understand that part, +10% is effectively doubling the default skillcheck odds, but it's still a rather small number in the end and I play on console where performance problems making skillchecks harder so I cannot consistently hit Greats. So I'm wishing Deadline did something more, because the requirements (being injured) and downsides (random placements) seem to outweigh the upsides. And even if they weren't there, the upsides would just be boring. I do feel Deadline needs some more oomph added to it, something that makes the wacky skillchecks (which I want to stay because it's unique) feel like a reasonable trade-off.

But does their combined benefit make up for all the stress, anger and helplessness a survivor feels when they’re on a hook and sees their teammates auras Self-Caring in a corner? How many games could have been won without Self Care?
Botany Knowledge does boost Self-Care which makes it more viable. Combine it with Desperate Measures and you have a fairly decent self-healing build.
-
I don't like the visuals or sounds of the warning you get when a generator is running out of regression events. Can't we just make the generators change aura color or something? It wouldn't hurt anyone to implement a new aura color like purple to represent it.

I'm always happy for more Bloodpoints and Rift Fragments, thank you Brazil.

Can't you mori on death hook with offerings? Not saying I'm against the idea, I just thought that niche was already covered.
Yeah but Myers' Tombstone can skip the injure and skip the down and go straight to dead. No one else can do that.

He may not be that powerful, but he is extremely fun to play as.
I bought him two days ago and I'm having a blast! Me and my guard working together to down an Ace was hilarious.
I think he will take the spot of "second main" for me.
I do find him very fun to play as. When he works. He's buggy, glitchy, janky, awkward, unreliable, and his add-ons suck. He'd be one of my mains if BHVR took some time to fix him up.
-
The Tombstone add-ons should only let you kill survivors who are already on death hook, like Pyramid Head. I'd be fine with them receiving a new main effect, with the insta-kill being more of a side-bonus.
