  • Reverting it isn't going to cure slugging.

  • If we were to add a new effect to Rookie Spirit, i would add this:

When repairing a regressing generator, your repair speed is increased by 100%. This deactivates once the generator reaches the threshold to stop regressing.

  • I wonder if they'll update the game for Switch 2. And if they'll force me to buy the game and all my DLC all over again if they do.

  • @UndeddJester said:

Post 326 of saying the timed and permanent effects for Knockout should be switched round. Maybe buff the effect a tad to give it value, but have it a tool more not to lose a slug.

    For 25s seconds: -

    • The aura of the dying survivor is blocked for their teammates over 32/24/16m.
    • Suffers from deafened and blindness condition.
    • Reduced field of view.

While in the dying state: -

    • Reduced crawling speed -50%.
    • Reduced recovery speed -25%

Seconding this. I'd also accept removing the aura-blocking completely but reducing the recovery penalty further to -50% and/or changing Blindness to something like 80 seconds so that even if they're picked up quickly there's still a lingering effect, and if they're slugged too long they're eventually able to crawl to teammates.

Correct, so if you for some reason block somebody by accident and then for whatever reason want to play with them and get to be friends you just can't invite them unless by chance you meet in the same lobby at some point, since you can't check the block list anywhere. Awfully designed and has been overlooked for over 8 years.

Let's be honest, DbD lags a decade behind other multiplayer games in terms of basic features, like a managed block list. It's disappointing.

  • Shouldn't hook next to the gate.

  • It would be better if it applied Oblivious to all injured survivors so that it wasn't immediately obvious who had been revealed to the killer. Was it you, or was it the other injured survivor? You won't know until the killer comes to get one of you.

  • @Seraphor said:

Are we calling GoJ killer-sided now?

I see an easily defended 3-gen with the Ruin totem right in the center.

I once had a 3-gen spawn worse than this on GoJ. I was Wraith with Surge. I swear two of them were 10 meters from each other. The survivors had a very bad time. Much like Forgotten Ruins, I think this map sucks for everyone.

  • He's always been extremely janky and glitchy and his updates have never addressed that properly. Yes, his add-ons are bad. Yes, he's kind of bad. Not the worst but very far from the best.

  • I've had a simpler idea: sabotaging a scourge hook causes Exposed for 60 seconds.

  • @jmwjmw27 said:

I really love the idea of the perk - take a hit for a teammate, killer can either commit to you or you heal in 60 seconds. On paper, great anti-tunnel perk (to protect a tunneled teammate). In practice, 60 seconds is pretty crazy even if you can get right on a gen after taking the hit, and because you have to search two chests, it is hard outclassed by a simple medkit, you can even bring pharmacy to search a chest after, spend less time, and get a medkit to heal yourself instead.

What if you combine it with Mettle of Man so you get the free hit while healing from Moment of Glory? An extremely impractical combo, but imagine actually pulling it off in a match.

For serious balance discussion, I'd lower Moment of Glory's timer to 45 seconds.

  • @zarr said:

I'm not sure people are aware what its recent "bug fix" actually did:

Fixed an issue that caused the Moment of Glory perk to lose its charges when entering the dying state

This not only means that contrary to what @Caiman claimed you don't lose any charges on being downed, but more crucially, it instantly starts healing you again once you are back on your feet. So if you have Glory ready, get downed but then healed up again by a fellow teammate or Unbreakable or the like, you instantly become Broken again, and the 60-second timer starts anew. This also carries over to being hooked, then becoming Broken and healed within 60s after the unhook. As well as escaping the killer's grasp, be it by wiggling, stun or blind rescues, or Decisive Strike.

While this has notably improved the perk and made it have more consistent value, the risk that getting downed would render the investment to activate the perk naught wasn't something that held the perk back from being "great" or anything, it was more so something that pushed it into "you'd be pretty crazy to use this, unless you actively want to bring detrimental perks in order to have fun" territory. So with that issue fixed, it's not like Glory is a meta-contender now. Fairly far from; it's still hard to argue it's anything above high C, at most low B tier.

The investment to activate it is just too steep. Running around searching for and looting two chests takes ages, and sometimes isn't possible altogether because it's too risky to go for a chest with the killer around (especially the basement chest of course), let alone while injured. The items you find are regularly nowhere near worth that time investment either, particularly of course considering that you can only carry one item at a time, and that ideally you would want to bring an item into the round to begin with. There are only 3 chests on the map, so at most you can activate the perk one time, and only if nobody else has looted 2 chests themselves. Sure, you can bring perks and offerings to change some of these things (Shiny Coin, Plunderer's Instinct, Appraisal, Ace In The Hole, …), but then you are spending even more precious slots on things that in and of themselves are really suboptimal choices, forgoing good stuff, and the issue that you can only hold one item at a time and that that item ideally is one you brought into the trial from the get-go doesn't disappear.

And then beyond the activation investment, the effect is not that crazy either: Surviving 60 seconds in a chase while injured is not easy for a lot of players, and against an even just competent killer player it isn't easy for anyone, particularly of course if they are playing one of the numerous killers with potent chase abilities. Not to mention that instadown abilities/add-ons/perks completely circumvent this. Healing passively if the killer leaves you after hitting you or after you get unhooked or healed up off the ground is neat because it saves some time, but in the latter two scenarios there is another survivor there that could have simply healed you instead without it taking too much time. It is nice that you can go and hide after getting unhooked and passively heal, but then if the killer is far enough away such that you aren't immediately caught up in a chase, you'd regularly be better off using Inner Strength and hiding in a locker after that unhook, which is a more reliable means of healing in general as well. And if you are getting tunnelled, you might just end up getting put into Deep Wound, where all Glory will then do is mend you.

Given all that, I do think Glory deserves a buff or another. What would instantly make it much more relevant I think is if they were to reduce its activation condition to 1 loot/rummage interaction. Now you aren't forced to bring a Shiny Coin and/or Appraisal to be able to activate the perk multiple times, multiple survivors using the perk aren't as extremely at odds with each other, and the time to activate it is technically halved. Only having to loot one chest per activation also means you aren't always forced to leave an item behind. And if you do bring Shiny Coin or Appraisal, it even gets to be a fairly reliable means of healing. If they were to reduce the time-to-heal to 45 seconds on top of that, we would probably start seeing a lot more looting. They could also simply cut the timer down to 30 seconds, keeping the current activation condition.

I would also want for the Broken status to be removed such that you can heal by other means if you want to, saving your Glory for when you really need it, as well as making it more surreptitious in chase as opposed to immediately telling the killer that you will be healthy again if they can't down you.

That was a bug? And it's fixed now? Guess I'll try the perk again. As a soloQ survivor, I'll take any self-sufficient healing I can get. Plus I'm a compulsive chest-looter anyway.

  • No more basekit perks for anyone.

  • I feel like part of the problem is the game's netcode itself has gotten worse with a recent update. Things have gotten way worse than before, more unstable.

  • It's rare to see positivity on these forums, but it's an appreciated sight.

  • I don't think they would do a PTB in the middle of an event.

  • Pyramid Head can do his quick Mori because in that situation there is no practical difference between getting Mori'd and getting sent to a cage to die instantly. You are in a situation where you would die either way, no matter what, so the only real difference is the chop wastes less of everyone's time.

So from which point of status do we look then? Just random what you need it to be?

If you want to pretend that WGLF is weaker now than it was before the restrictions were removed, go ahead. I'll think it's silly but you do you.

  • I feel like the game is busted overall. Incentives aren't working, queues are longer, lag is worse. I've gotten more hits stolen from me in the past 2 weeks than I have in the past 2 years.

in event mode alone this week I've had 7 mindbreaker players. 2 demo (one doing adept), a death slinger, a perma T3 Myers, a Freddy, and 2 bubbas

People use Mindbreaker for Exhaustion, the Blindness is an insignificant bonus since it wears off 5 seconds after leaving the generator.

  • A slightly reverted buff is still ultimately a buff. Or was WGLF stronger when you had to earn the Endurance with unhooks and protection hits?

There is a stark difference between:

A scenario in which regardless of how the Killer opened any of the two Lockers, the other Locker Survivor could immediately jump out and blind the Killer, both having time to jump back in, and repeat this process until one ran out of Flashlight charge

    And:

A scenario where the Killer is unwilling to engage with chase against the Flashbang survivor, nor try to fake out for a hit, nor just burning through the Flashbang.

That being said I wouldn’t cry if the Flashbang needed to be further in front of the Killer in order to blind them instead of dropping it from behind them.

How does one "burn through" a flashbang?

You don't play the game enough, with the nerfs to 2nd chance meta slugging has became more and more achievable as the years since 6.1.0 have went by, why? Because no one uses these perks and they were the backbone of DBD survivor for as long as I can remember.

Casual players arent running DH, Unbreakable, Decisive, adren anymore, not that they arent less effective in these scenarios. but they conditioned killers as a whole to switch targets. it's more the state of the way the game is played by the larger audience as opposed to your personal experience as killer.

I'll always stand by second chance meta was a necessary evil for the casual side of this game and made S tier killers a more arguable concept they were healthy for the game, now IMO not so much with the new higher kill rates.

Casual players arent running DH, Unbreakable, Decisive, adren anymore

But I still see them all the time? It's rare to see a game without at least one of these perks. DH, DS, OTR, Adren…

I do it stops lobby dodging and backfilling if they want to push SBMM so badly, and also hide the survivors names too. It's actually unfair even socially.

Lobbies should be mysterious for everyone, everyone would have a lot more fun if it was.

I do it stops lobby dodging and backfilling if they want to push SBMM so badly, and also hide the survivors names too

I haven't seen any lobbydodging since prestiges were removed, and if you want your name hidden, turn on Anonymous Mode.

"Mystery" gets old with repetition, the novelty would wear off within a week and then it'd be boring.

  • I don't know how anyone finds playing against Leatherface fun. In my experience they all use stealth perks for surprise chainsaw downs followed by hardcore camping.

  • I slapped together a recent build for "make survivors scream" tome challenges.

    • Hex: Face the Darkness
    • Friends 'Til the End
    • Make Your Choice
    • Deathbound
  • The real problem with the perk is that if you open one chest, then get downed, that progress is negated and you have to open two more chests to activate it. Such an unnecessary restriction.

Bhvr, this should fix the game. It's an equal trade. Just axe all aura and second chance perks.

Honestly, I'd wonder what the metas would settle on if that happened. 🤔

It doesn't matter what the new meta would be, because every perk in it would suddenly become "unfair" and "oppressive" and players would demand it be removed too.

  • Hellfire is much weaker than PH's attack, and it has so much slowdown that cancelling or missing is a massive punishment. Wolf's pounce is difficult to aim especially on controller and the forced second pounce is more of a hindrance than a benefit most of the time.

Bat is a little overtuned though. I wouldn't mind it getting slowed down a little in exchange for increased teleport range.

  • Wesker is good but he's not that good.

I played him about 3 times and decimated survivors

Yeah when I first tried killer I decimated as Trapper…

So she is hard to play.

"But with her Power she can cut out basically all chase tools if she lands on top of the survivor"

The key word is "if". Guess what, most players can’t.
You ALL need to wake up here and open your eyes. MOST players can’t, that’s why her win rate across all MMR is so low.

And even at TOP 5%, she is similar to other killers because even at this level players are not good enough to make her oppressive.

She SEEMS oppressive but you manage to keep her busy her chase time will be similar to what any other killer could have done. But it doesn’t FEEL fair for you have to come here and ask for nerfs. That’s quite pathetic.
But again, at the end of the day, stats don’t lie.
If she was that crazy broken like you keep claiming, her win rate at TOP 5% would be close to 80-90% but is it not.

So for who are we balancing the game ?
    The 0.1% or the 99.9% ?

Meaningless statistics to you. You have a problem with reality because kill rates mean something.

I'm not the one pointing fingers and screaming "MISOGYNY! WAKE UP!" at people for calling a video game character overpowered. So I don't think I'm the one with a reality problem.

Kill rates mean something, but not when they come from people like you throwing them around fallaciously to justify your blatant bias.

Why do you think most survivors are young women ?
Why are most killers monsters or male ?
Why are so many people angry when they lose a game against a female killer ? Hag, Skull Merchant, Spirit, Nurse ?

Yep, misogyny. It seems only strong killers can be men.

Last I checked, survivors have an almost even split of 21 males to 23 females, give or take a few. And there are more male killers than female but many of those male killers are licensed from other properties and thus are not up to BHVR to decide what sex they are.

Also, everyone gets angry at every killer when they lose. People will get salty at Trapper, Wraith, and Doctor. You're also conveniently leaving out Blight.

Using misogyny as a shield to rebuff criticisms of Nurse is ridiculous.

I'm okay with seeing items, in theory its dumb but in practice if you can bait the killer into taking a useless perk its workable.

Killers should never be able to see cosmetics, characters, or profiles though. The killer player-base clearly gets emotional before the match even starts and it also leads to dodging.

You'll mostly find pushback against this idea though, these same people argued a lot against removing prestige for 'flavor' reasons as well.

Nerfing nurse more will just hurt the new players, while butchering a fun and unique killer.

Please leave her alone. At this point it is just misogyny.

Other aura reading perks killers can bring into the match are not triggering that soon after the game starts. Distortion will still block the initial Lethal Pursuer allowing survivors to get a start on their early game.

At some point survivors just need to learn how to play around these other aura reading perks, because many of them are pretty easy to spot and counter. Such as using lockers to avoid BBQ or Friends til the End.

Yeah the only aura perks I can think of that can trigger at the start of the match are Lethal Pursuer, Undying, Darkness Revealed, and Human Greed. Two of those aren't very good, and one of those isn't used for the aura reveal.

If we had to nerf Nowhere to Hide, I'd give it the Ultimate Weapon treatment and center the aura-reveal on the generator itself instead of the killer. It'd still do its job at revealing the survivor hiding behind a rock 15 feet away.
