They only did that with the 4th year and it could of been a coincidence that they played off

It's entirely possible that you're correct, we'll just have to wait and see

  • So I actually have a theory, in the past, all the anniversary logos gave us a glimpse of who the killer will be, for example, 4th anniversary's number 4 resembled pyramid.

So number 5 has to do with the killer. I have a theory about the number, I think that the characters will be from the 5th installment of resident evil, I could be wrong.

  • I disagree with the idea that there are rarely good streamers. I could list some streamers that I find both decent and that they follow (whenever they can) the survivor/killer rulebook. But the point is that the streamers get a lot of bad reputation from entitled players, and this created a ton of hate in the community. It's not rare to have over 12 pages of stream comments on why you suck if you're a streamer. But everyone seems to forget the point, they don't stream to showcase how good they are in the game, they stream it because A. They like dbd and B. They wanna have a good time (and money).

I'll just point out that higher FOV gives me motion sickness. Some people get sick at higher FOV, some at lower. Higher FOV is clearly a gameplay advantage, so this remains a difficult issue.

I get what you mean, on the one hand motion sickness causes a ton of problems, on the other, it could be easily abuseable. But I have an idea. Do the 360 move, instead of making it accessable to have a bigger fov, simply make it so EVERYONE has bigger fov (basically shadowborn) and make it available to lower the fov on the settings. I know that my theory isn't perfect, but you can balance around the higher fov without caring that much for people who lowered it.

@CLAUDETTEINABUSH wait... really, where? I never saw that before while playing village

Can you be more specific? I guess you mention the Meg Easter egg, well I also haven't played the game but a swift Google search will tell you where you can, well, hear It. I think it's in the castle

  • I believe so, I'm not a huge re fan, I've never played the game but I did research, and I mean a ton of research to keep up. Since the last dbd anniversary logo was revealing the new character (the 4 looked like a pyramid, so ya know), I think it's safe to assume that the number 5 has to do with the new killer, maybe it's their weapon, or the 5th game will be the main focus of the dlc. Many people think it's going to be characters from the re8 game because of an Easter egg. In some part of the game, you can hear Meg's scream from the og trailer. I believe it's incorrect. Just because Meg's scream is featured in the 8th game, it doesn't mean that the chapter will be based on that game. I believe that since it was their first collab, the resident evil company decided to add an Easter egg or two on their game referencing dbd, so since this was their newest game, it's the only one that can have these Easter eggs. I could be mistaken tho

The absolute delusion people have that it'll be a RE8 related RE chapter is just mind boggling to the point that it's driving me mad that people have the audacity to even remotely THINK it's Lady D or any of her literal throwaway 15 minutes of fame sub bosses. There's not a single doubt in my mind that people who LEGIT think it's anything from 7 or 8 are either VERY new to the series and are following a fad because zoowie mama big booba or are just not on the same page with how licensed killers work and how we've received material correlating to the legacy of that particular dlc.

I will aggressively die on this hill shouting "It's not Lady D, It's not RE 8 and it most certainly won't be one of bananafly sisters."

The scream could very well just be a stock sound effect for all we know, I don't remember RE directly referencing another game like that ever, so this is getting chalked up as a coincidence more so than a reference. And again, if you'd play the game there'd be a good reason why you hear "Female scream 1" in the castle.

I'm just going to stop looking at any thread mentions of RE chapter until the actual reveal stream is out, just so i can crawl back up from the depths of my cave to bump a thread and scream I TOLD YOU SO from the bottom of my lungs and feel slightly superior for a fleeting moment.

    Thank you.

Lmao I just stated a fact buddy, relax. I'm not a big re fan after all. I just made an observation

  • You could be correct since re8 includes a meg scream from the first dbd trailer, and the 5 on the new anniversary logo looks like a scythe

  • Nurse is so hard on console that should literally have her own tier called "pls help me". That is true for PC too, I can't play her without the training wheels yet she's so goddamn frustrating that Everytime I decide to play her a piece of my soul is sacrificed

That's a lot of unneeded pity for killers. They do not need it. They win enough without needing pity. I think they win too much and these perks are way too strong in a game where survivors are inferior in every way imaginable.

Just because killers need points doesn't make BBQ fair. Survivors need points way more. I can get only 5K, while a leatherface camps and slugs everyone and gets about 20K. You think that is fair? It was impossible for me to get stacks because of "him" but he gets a mountain of points for just playing. I don't think killers need points, they get plenty. BBQ is too easy to use.

I don't know a soul that enjoys tinkerer, yet survivor perks are nerfed when killers don't like them.

I still want to see the godly winrates of this perk with ruin, it has to be through the roof.

So you're suffering from a condition known as "entitlement". Basically, you play only one side so you don't know the experience of the other side. That's why you don't know why the killers need this pressure. If anything, killers suffer more than survivors because of bullshit mechanics, in my opinion as a hybrid player. I'm much more anxious and afraid in the loading screen of a game when I play an m1 killer rather than a survivor playing in solo q, and that says ######### much.

"I don't know a soul that enjoys tinkerer" just because a perk is strong on the one side, that doesn't mean it's unbalanced. I don't know a soul that enjoys bt, unbreakable, dead hard on the killer side, does that mean they're too strong? Now, I know this is a bit of whataboutism, but if you think that what they run is overpowered and demand to see popularity and winrates, I personally suggest looking at your tryharding build and asking "is this any different?". The answer for you will be "no" because you suffer from entitlement. As a dbd medical professional (joke) I suggest playing killer and trying playing without ANY of these perks. Your winrate won't be high, I promise you that.

Also, bbq is a fair and balanced perk. Just like wglf. If you need bloodpoints just equip wglf, maybe a prove thyself and you'll make off like a bandit. If you're annoyed about the effect of bbq just hide in a locker or stay close to the killer. Bbq simply gives the killer a bit of knowledge on where to go next, and that's not a bad thing, I dunno why you think it is.

Also, trust me if bbq didn't have a bloodpoints bonus it wouldn't be meta. When new people come into the game and play killer they are suggested to buy the bubba dlc because grinding with killer that doesn't have bbq is a ######### nightmare, trust me I know, I didn't buy the bubba dlc and I luckily got bbq on my 3d month of playing and it was a tremendous improvement

  • @Sluzzy said:

It is way overdue for transparency. I want to see the winrate of killers using Tinkerer, Ruin, and POP. Corrupt Intervention also. And BBQ on a fast killer. Will it show a game breaking problem? Killers love these perks for ez wins and I'm going to take a guess the winrate is above 3K per game. Without these perks I bet it is closer to a fairer 2K. It's the biggest game breaking thing in the game and it is also unfun to verse. I'm sick of these perks being abused.

I have yet to see a team beat an abusing Rank 1 Wraith with Tinkerer and Ruin. It's absolutely a busted combo and biased balancing for leaving this in the game for an overwhelming advantage. The Wraith has to be extremely garbage to lose. I'll be waiting.

I have a lot of objections here. On the one hand, I'd like a chart showing "this was the most popular build with x% winrate and this is the build with the most winrate" , perk popularity and all of the above, but I believe that you've misunderstood the game. I got a bit annoyed on the phrase "killers love these perks for ez wins", so let's go through every single perk, shall we?

Tinkerer, a bit of an annoying perk that informa the killer where they need to be to stop a gen from being done, I get why it's frustrating, but there are ways to play around it. I, personally, bait the tinkerer. I repair until it hits tinkerer (if you have good knowledge of the game you'll know when it triggered) and then I'll just hide in a corner or run away, so the killer won't find me and I'll finish the gen once he's done. Spine chill also is a good counter, now that it's a bit more meta.

Ruin, a hex perk that can be destroyed. If you can't find totems there are items and perks that can help you with that.

Pop, one of the best designed killer perks because it rewards the killer for doing their job. It can only be abused if your teammates are trash.

Bbq, I don't get why survivor mains hate bbq. Killers need blood points to, leave em alone :( . Good information, rewards you for hooking a survivor and gives you a sense of where to go. Can also be countered by going into a locker or staying close to the killer.

So these perks alone don't have a problem and they're not abuseable as you say. I think most people use this term a lot. Abusing a perk/add-on is like old ds and old iri head + belt, you quite literally break the game and have little to no counterplay. Even if combined, the build gives a lot of needed information and gen pressure. So they're not abusing it, they really need em, especially in higher ranks.

"I have yet to see a team beat an abusing Rank 1 Wraith with Tinkerer and Ruin. It's absolutely a busted combo and biased balancing for leaving this in the game for an overwhelming advantage. The Wraith has to be extremely garbage to lose." REALLY? so you either don't play survivor much, or watch yt videos or streams, or lying. The wraith, now, is a killer with a lot of mobility that can apply pressure really well, since he goes to point A to point B relatively unnoticed. Tinkerer just shows him where to go and ruin guarantees that he won't need to kick it afterwards. So again, totem searching and breaking is key. It's a strong and fitting combo for him, but definitely not game breaking.

  • Nope, and I admit I use them when playing huntress. As an fps player it helps me a ton

  • Because people are entitled. I've reach the "Stein's gate" of the community, went down the rabbit hole and I think I found the truth. So, I'm a hybrid player, meaning I play both sides equally. And I've noticed that most people that complain that a side isn't favored by the devs, actually don't play the other side much, or indeed at all. Let me give you some examples:

When ruin was nerfed, most killer mains believed that bhvr lost their mind, and that ruin disappearing would change the killer experience for the worst.

On the other hand, when ds was nerfed, survivors lost their #########. I even saw a post asking for a refund for the Halloween chapter, since some people bought it to have an advantage on the game.

Trickster was released, killer Maine complain that bhvr is too afraid to release something useful for the killer side

OoO change, survivors complain and they want their old OoO back to bully people

Undying nerf literally broke some killers

    Camping/tunneling/slugging for survivors

    Tbagging for killers

At this point, I feel that people complain just for the ######### of it. So the real question is, am I complaining that other people complain? Only time will tell

  • So, you are mad because players decide to play with each other for fun? Well.....

I'd say letting them do what the ######### they want because it's none of your business to criticize on why and how they play with friends, that's my suggestion.

  • Indeed an interesting suggestion to punish gen tapping, but that would create a real problem with ruin and new players, and it would be a buff to literally every gen regression perk. I'd say drop the time to stop a gen from regressing to 1 second and then maybe it will be ok.

  • @OniWantsYourMacaroni said:

Seems like you're playing her wrong then.

A good Hag is very scary to go against and only very smart and aggressive teams are able to give her a hard time

Hag is actually really fun to play, and I agree with Oni that wants to take my macaroni. As a hag main, I can also see that you kinda play her wrong. Have you considered watching Michi? He's one of if not the best hag players and I highly suggest watching his vid

  • There are differences between perks and add-ons. The two are designed to not be comparable to most situations. Even if you drag me to the hell called whataboutism, I'll actually take the bait this time and argue back. Because one thing is broken, it doesn't mean that the other wasn't. This is something the dbd community ignores. What you argue is that because one addon was nerfed, a perk being "abused" should also be nerfed. That doesn't have to be the case, because dead hard had a lot of counters, whereas the iri head counters were minimal and made the game depend solely on how well a huntress knew how to play. This is a fact, since the majority of the community, killers and survivors, including the devs agree that the nerf was well deserved. But to be honest, I don't see why dead hard is criticized like this. The perk may be annoying and save the survivors at times, but it's a really balanced perk imo. Dead hard has three possible counters I can think of, and surely a lot more but these are the ones I can think of: it has a cooldown, so unless you allow the survivor to regain their exhaustion, it will be used once in a chase. Secondly, it can't be activated while healthy, so it gets automatically countered by every single expose addon, perk and ability. Last but not least, when you know the survivor has it, it's too predictable and easy to play around.

So honestly, I don't see what you find unbalanced about this perk.

dbd is a horror game about killing people. it’s literally a murder game.

They actually said that the survivors should be able to represent the player, that's why they have survivors from so many nations and colors. Asking for representation is a good thing, and since bhvr said they'll release one, I think that it excites those people.

For example, if they said " we will add a bush character in the future" I inform you that I'd spam on Twitter and on these forums to see this bush character, since the bush represents me perfectly.

That's barely a nerf, should be more like only the person with the key can use the hatch or something

Considering how useless they nerfed moris to be

Wait a second since @Northener1907 told you that they've been nerfed, that means that your entire statement is false, since they HAVE been touched, unlike what your title suggests.

And you agree they've been touched.

So does that mean that you're misleading the readers?

  • In every game I play that isn't an indoor map, I make a decision based on crow landings or crows flying. In the higher ranks almost every killer does that.

  • Don't you think that you're being watched when walking close to a bush? Bushes have eyes ya know

  • I highly disagree. Kate and Felix can both come to my house at any time. They are the hottest, objectively.

This isn't up for debate, I WILL shoot you

  • First of all, it's not bannable because there are people unaware of the bug, so you can't really punish someone unaware (new players, hardcore Jeff mains, people who play for fun and don't really keep up with all the bugs since there are so many, ect.)

Secondly, the bug isn't fixed because bhvr is slow and it takes a lot of time and effort to find, recreate and fix a bug.

  • Sometimes when I swf we don't use comms, and honestly even if we did our callouts are borderline awful

  • I like the buff. There shouldn't be perks that specifically target one character. For example, you shouldn't be able to detect traps with small game, that's what it was basically designed back in the day, because the perk and killer pool were extremely small. Now they try to fix it, which is always welcomed

  • Unnecessarily nerfed freddy? You know that most of the community begged for a freddy nerf since the rework right? The changes were mega deserved. About the demo changes, the thought was good, but I'd just make the liver a yellow addon instead of nerfing it, but it's overall a buff imo. Twin's nerf was more than deserved, she isn't punished for slugging at all and results in incredible boring games. I disagree with the lucky break changes but it was a heavily underused perk so I get why they changed it.

And no, the changes didn't bring disappointment. Most people were ######### thrilled about the changes. It was a successful patch. The huntress add-on rework is also extremely interesting, which you didn't mention, and the hatch nerf was also extremely deserved

  • Just because one thing is boring that doesn't mean the other one isn't. Freddy is boring, but you can't say "oh you find Freddy boring? Then what about survivors that hide all the time?". They're both boring. What you do right here is called "whataboutism"

I was thinking the same, but the Demogorgon killed me after getting bored of trying to get in :(

You could try in a custom game with a friend. It is really possible that this is the solution.

  • She already has a unique lullaby. A new theme could confuse people so I understand why they didn't add it.

  • Maybe endgame collapse triggers it? It happened with midwitch so it is possible

Sorry if i came across as snarky. Just tired of massive brained blight mains insulting me every time i dare dislike 1 of the 20+ killers even though I've complained twice about him total on here.

Not saying you're one of those.

I just despite everything about this Blight on my fun over the last 5 years.

Never said you shouldn't dislike blight. I love playing against nurse and hat going against huntress so I'm generally a weird cookie. But you have to acknowledge that there are some ways to counter him. In order to fully understand them unfortunately, you have to play blight a lot. Because there are specific plays you can do around tiles to completely throw them off. Basically "to beat your enemy, you gotta know your enemy". That's exactly what I did with nurse and I enjoy playing against nurses now surprisingly.

  • I would. I've invested a lot of time into other games as well. If my entire progress is reset then I'm done

  • I agree with your last point, the meter should either function like deep wound depending on how many knives you've hit the survivor or function like ghost face.

Main event also kinda sucks and does need a rework. Now, if the killer uses main event you just jump on a locker and you're fine, which feels unfair.

I think that bouncing knives are a bit of an overkill and won't really help him that much. I have a better alternative:

When you hit a survivor they get a 1% or a 2% speed reduction that reset when they lose a healthstate so the trickster can stack hits easier and make his power worth using.

  • Well, I'll be honest positive threads are extremely unusual, but there are always good people that I've met in the dbd forum community that I had fun with

  • The game's meta is shifting, so the mindset of the community. Now it's more profitable for a killer to funnel rather than go for the healthy survivor since they get 1 person off the game quickly. And this should be an option, but I think they shouldn't get that rewarded for doing that.

  • Blight in my opinion was the most balanced released killer in dbd history. I get your frustrations over people parroting over streamers, but that's besides the point isn't it?

I picked up blight for the first time this week and his power is actually incredibly hard to use. I managed to win 2/3 games yesterday if I remember correctly but made a lot of mistakes. I don't use j-flick, and it's getting fixed so nobody will use it anytime soon. The fact that some streamers use stretched res doesn't have to do with playing blight, it has to do with the streamer. He has a good amount of counterplay since there are some loops that his power is generally useless and he's a 115% ms killer, for example the truck loops or the one pallet loops with one side bigger than the other (dunno how to rephrase it, if you want an example I'll send a pic). He takes a lot of skill to play and even more to master. I don't find him oppressive at all even as a survivor, since the blight might over-rush and lose a lot of distance. But it could be just me you know, I love going against nurses so I'm generally a weird cookie.

But saying blight is the most oppressive killer with no counterplay is incredibly incorrect imo. I understand if you don't like him, but he is counterable, unlike spirit and deathslinger that u mentioned before.

Btw his thematic and visuals are also neat, his skins are incredible and his tr music really boosts his character imo. I find blight as a really cool character design, not to mention the lore he brings.

  • Honestly, I'd do the same. Cockiness always gets survivors killed, and sometimes killers must play dirty to win.

Noed is also counterable, and a perk that exists in this game, so you have the right to use it. Technically, voice comms destroy the rules of the game since dbd is based around not giving information to your teammates, or giving restricted info (for example, the dbd emotes are point and come here, that's the only way to give info without perks)

Lastly, if they messaged you then it does show how stupid they really are.

  • Huntress is generally fun and can achieve a lot of good plays, like hatchets snipes.

  • I have actually. With the newest tome release and because I need to complete all rituals so I can lvl up blight, I'm forced to play killers I don't usually play. Nurse is an obvious example. Since my fps is #########, I usually get destroyed as her since I haven't invested a lot of time playing her. But in 1 month I've played 5 nurse games, in 3 of them the survivor wanted me to kill them cuz they felt bad. But since I don't deserve the kill, I usually just drop em in the exit gate forcing them out.

So to answer your question: yes there are kind survivors that will sacrifice 5+k points and an emblem to give the killer a kill if they feel bad. I've done it myself to poor baby nurses si fe I know how frustrating it is.

  • I think that her bear traps are ok, they don't really need a buff. I do think that her problem lies with her primary ability, the crouch&ambush. It's useless in chase, since it takes forever to crouch&ambush without add-ons, it's bar is so slow, you get even slower when you charge and you move even slower when you decide to use it as a stealthy way to get around the map because you move slower than nurse.

  • A killer that can stun survivors in chase (I'm thinking of the Medusa in ancient greek history, where if you look at her you get transformed into a statue). My idea is that the killer has a wind up animation and a sound after that. If you look at them in that duration you get petrified and you can't move for 1-2 seconds.

  • Honesty.... My weakness...

Spine chill (I'm addicted to it)

Kindred (good info reveals what killer it is after first hook + I know if I'm the only one that can go for the save)

    Dead hard (obvious)

    Borrowed time

  • Since you played mainly hag and plague, you're used to being methodical as a killer I assume. Pig is also extremely methodical in a different way. Hag needs to create a good web so she can end chases quickly, plague needs to infect survivors quickly and adapt to their decisions (will they cleanse? Will they stay injured? Should I drink from the fountain rn? Are they trying to deplete all pools quickly?). Pig has a different playstyle. Your job is to use mind games and occasionally her dash (it's not that strong, but pro pigs can pull some insane plays off) to get quick downs. After you down someone you need to predict the gen progress. If survivors work on gens, put a trap on their head to slow the game, so they'll be forced to search chests. Usually they won't bother to heal with sloppy or with any perk/addon that slows healing time, so they're easy targets. But, you don't really need to chase them. They're useless, they're forced to search boxes. If you see someone trying to search a box, scare them, down them, it won't hurt. But you're focusing the one guy who isn't progressing the game. So the traps are her main slowdown because they temporary remove a player from the game. You could go the extra route and equip tempered timer with either slower chest searches or +1 jigsaw boxes so you can have an easy bear trap snap, or equip add-ons for your lunge to make it semi-decent.

At least, that's how I play pig :p

  • Devs said: we will focus on reworking new maps. Any chapter that doesn't have a map will probably not get any in the future. But, never say never

  • It's more or less a quality of life perk so you don't have to constantly worry about finding gens. I think it's superior to dejavu because it shows you gens within 32 meters so by going around a gen before repairing it you can see all the possible 3 gens that can be created, and inferior to detective's hunch, because it shows literally everything on a 64 or so meters radius

  • Because ds deactivates with the user's actions, it doesn't effect other player's actions. Meaning if I have ds and the unhooker decides to attempts to heal me in any way, I don't get punished for it

  • The word "bond" was censored in my game, I dunno why

  • I actually like this idea a lot because it fits his character. But instead of making it that, I'd make it so when you stalk and a survivor breaks los you get a 5% boost for a small period of time, depending on how much you've stalked em.

1 2 3 4 5 … 35
