Basically they made something similar to mmr for each individual killer in order to get more fair matches. The mmr kicks in after 10 games or so. Imagine it like this: if you're an Oni main and you keep getting 4ks, you'll get harder and harder opponents to match your skill level. If you wanna start playing huntress, you'll get people from your rank (they will know at least the basic mechanics of the game that you're supposed to know on your rank) but they won't be as good as the survivors you face as Oni. This also counts on killers you haven't played in a while, specifically after rank reset. I haven't touched deathslinger for at least 2 months and I've been playing Hag constantly, if I play a game of deathslinger, I'll get matched up with red ranks, but they won't be as good as the people I face as Hag.
In order for the MMR to work it requires to find people with basically the same mmr, so when you queue up it starts searching for players on your killer's skill level. If you're able to switch, then the MMR will be basically useless.

Shape, not shade. I believe the nickname was never mentioned in the movie itself, though it was in the credits iirc. Although, given the film's massive popularity, it's safe to assume at least one survivor knows of this nickname.
Oops! I knew it's shape but autocorrect automatically thought that the word "shape" doesn't exist, had to upgrade it :p
Also I assume that Laurie would know that, but I also assume that calling him by his name is the least of her concerns xd

That works for everyone except Michael but that’s also really cool so let’s go with it
It does actually fit his character, I'd describe his play style as a shade, stalking you from the fog

That is definitely true and everyone has to decide for themselves if they want to pay that price but I will experiment with it to see how (un)effective it really. I was not able to play the ptb but this combo has caught my attention
I think it might be viable to killers like Oni and huntress. Imagine starting the game in a corn map and having a hatchet hit you in the first 3 seconds of a match. Killers that win when a mayhem occurs will benefit the most of this combo. Run it with infectious and knockout if you feel risky and try to get a 4k in the first 3 minutes of the match
-
Why should you remove this game's creative liberty?

The thing is with lethal pursuer you can see if someone spawned outside of the corrupted area and go for them right away while the others are still searching for gens. It also counters corrupt campers
Still after your first chase you'll have -2 perks to work with. It's not worth it to bet on your early game without accounting late game.
-
I think that it'd be a bit of an overkill to use both of them, since they basically have the same mindset, giving you early chases. If I get lethal pursuer then I won't need corrupt, probably, if I use ruin/tinkerer/bbq
-
I have a bit of a theory about the killers' names origins. I believe that the survivors actually named them. So for example: trapper (trap), the legion (because they're more than one)
-
It doesn't really need a buff. It's still a useful and somewhat meta perk, and it's synergy with surveillance is pretty powerful.

Wasnt the nurse for free???
I thought she's free in every platform....except mobile
I believe this is a mobile post. If so, then you're in the wrong forums buddy, there is a section specifically for mobile dbd
-
Basically this.
I'm still trying to play nurse well. She's not simple at all. Someone has to invest hundreds and hundreds of hours just to get used to her ability. And, personally, I think that if someone has mastered her, I think they deserve to win most matches. Having good and powerful, but difficult killers is a good thing, and good game design
-
I have a better idea. It would be way cooler if the Vigo's journal was released, similar to gravity falls, containing secrets and lore
-
I prefer being called daddy Myers than being called a tunneler and a camper, do you disagree?
-
As a Hag main I agree that it really needs to be changed. The only downside is that it doesn't affect the camera of the survivors, so certain types of traps don't work, but even that isn't that big of a drawback

Well, this is a question that will totally resolve peacefully.
Both sides of this game can be incredibly entitled, that's just truth. We've seen plenty of the worst cases on this forum. I've seen it all.
Ruin basekit, DS (like old DS) Basekit, ban SWF, Mad Grit being a crutch perk...
Well till now everything is fine.... How long will peace last? I bet a day xd
-
I quite literally play Pokemon if they don't do anything. I'm grinding my team on the elite 4 so I have plenty of time
-
I know this isn't important but: Hag has only 10 traps. I know you used the numbers 15 and 16 to over exaggerate, but I feel obligated to correct it for some reason.
Secondly, if someone is on basement hook I rarely ever place more than 2 traps. I usually place only one trap that is extremely hard to destroy in the basement corner leading to the stairs. I'll place a second one in front of the survivor only if they have a key to secure that I'll get at least a trade. Against a basement hag there are two ways of saving someone. The least punishable way is to crouch all the way in and out and in case she's close the healthy survivor should sprint into the trap. The safer way but the most punishable is to wait for her to pick up a survivor. If she does she can't tp into the basement traps so you can rush and get em out. But I agree that this needs to change, but other than that, I don't understand why so many people hate Hag.

Clarification: are you claiming I’m an entitled survivor main, or stating you are?
I’d hate that you’re disregarding my long history advocating for fairness for BOTH sides in this game.
I don't get why you see yourself as a balancing hero. What I don't understand more is that you're literally ignoring the points I made, which prove that hag is balanced. So, according to some people in this post, what you're seeking is demanding to change a character that is both balanced and fun to play (and for some to go against).
So I imagine you either:
A) can't win over my arguments, which I doubt that since I left a pretty good room for counterarguments, for example, since the hag can tp only in 40 meters, and since her web is usually in a small 3gen area, then there will be little to no times where a hag cannot tp.
B) you got annoyed that I called you a survivor main, which seeing your mindset about hag, I suppose you have the same mindset about every killer you hate, balanced or not (that's a wild accusation, but I keep reading your rant and I come back to the same conclusion).
So in conclusion, I don't really see how you're trying balance the game for both sides, when you're ignoring the one side's arguments completely and don't suggest anything. Your post is quite literally "rework hag she op and unfun". I could state that for every killer I personally don't like and we'd had the same result
-
So let me explain this: this is a multiplayer game, thus you can expect a lot of toxicity. In order to avoid this I suggest to turn off your endgame chat. If you enjoy watching other people get tilted on endgame chat, then I suggest making fun of them. I certainly do. (Edit; tldr on the bottom because I don't expect anyone to read all of this :p)
Now some backstory to what they said. There is no actual rule of honor in dbd, but there are two entitled books called "survivor rulebook" and "killer rulebook", even tho you mainly see the first one. It's basically game mechanics that the other side finds unfun, op or annoying, so they flame you if you use em, or suspect you use em. Let me give you some examples.
Some restricted characters are: Freddy, spirit, nurse, hag, doc, twins, blight (sometimes) and huntress (if you're against console players, some might tell you to quote "play huntress on controller to play fairly" or they accuse you of hacking.
Restricted game mechanics: tunneling, camping, slugging, 4king (not giving last guy hatch, especially if someone dcs or kills themselves on hook, the entitled survivors will shame you if you didn't farm with them, farming is basically not playing the game to win, but instead working with the survivors to achieve max bloodpoints), teabagging, flashlight clicking, using emotes at the killer, body blocking, genrushing (basically trying to complete all gens as fast as possible), sabotaging hooks, ect.
Restricted perks: deadhard, ds, unbreakable, noed, make your choice (on certain characters), Franklin's demise, urban evasion, lightborn, hex ruin, hex undying, ######### it literally every hex, tinkerer, bbq and chilli, pop goes the weasel, object of obsession, a nurse's calling, sloppy butcher (yes I've been accused of running sloppy), discordance, blood warden, head on, sprint burst, every exhaustion perk basically, almost forgot corrupt intervention and infectious fright! ect.
Add-ons and items: almost every iridescent addon on every survivor and killer, rusty suckles (hag), all keys, all flashlights, all spirit's add-ons, ect.
You wouldn't be surprised to learn that I've been shamed for running almost every single thing I mentioned here. Even if you play everything exactly how your opponent wants you to play, they still won't be satisfied. Because they don't have your perspective.
I personally really enjoy watching people get salty and try to debate with them. But they almost never listen, and it's pretty uncommon to not be met with death wishes, for both me and everyone I love, according to them. But if you made someone that mad, then you basically won, since they're either way terrible people, getting reactions from them are hilarious.
Tldr; there are two different rulebooks that no actual logical human being will decide to follow. Both of them are purely theoretical, and every entitled player expects you to follow them, even tho they don't follow it themselves, mainly because they never play the other side at all or enough
-
We dunno, but killing yourself on hook because someone picked a character is a dickish move imo

What mistake?
It's not like the lobby says "On, btw, Hag" on the screen. I don't get into a match with Hag and think to myself "darn, I forgot to bring a flashlight or Urban Evasion... Guess this mistake will cost me the game."
"Oh, I guess I shouldn't have unhooked the survivor. Whether the Hag trapped this hook or not, I have to slowly crouch-walk in, unhook, pray the other survivor also crouches, and slowly crouch-walk 8m away just to stand back up, and-- oops, too late, the Hag's already ran back here. I made a mistake for trying to unhook a teammate while the Hag exists..."
Can hag activate her traps herself by default? No. If the survivor steps on them, then she can teleport.
So I would argue that yes, unlike demo and Freddy, the only way for hag to use her power if she places her traps strategically so the survivors will step on them either by accident or on purpose.
By the way, after the first 2 minutes of the game, you normally know what killer it is. So you can be a bit more careful

Hag is almost perfectly fine.
Look: you said that there is nothing you can do during a chase which is wrong.
If you would have looked where Hag planted the traps you would not fall for them. You could easily go to the border of the activation radius, trigger it and run away. In this case she will miss 100%.
Hag is an extremely interactive killer but there is one thing thats completely different between her and all other killers: other killers seek interaction with you, but in Hags case the survivor has to seek the interaction with her.
Every match try to find out int he first 20 seconds of the game who the killer is and youre golden against the Hag if you play properly.
The only things that should change about Hag are:
- the chase music
- her addons (only the ones that make her weaker or add nothing to her)
- and as soon as a person is rescued from the hook all traps in x m radius should vanish
She is very strong but has the perfect amount of counterplay and is the only real tactical killer in the game, For a change survivors have to play in a tactical way too.
I did a lot of testing and things like cam swing, crouching over traps, flashlight disarming etc should stay 100%.
Removing traps by hand should never ever by a thing, for this you have the method of triggering a trap at the border and if she teleports and has no other traps close she runs slowly after you.
From all responses etc I am seeing is that Hag is not the problem, the players are the problem not using the counterplay she has and instead trying the same old formula that works vs all other killers
MICHI :0 WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!

Thanks for the tip, as a solo player, that doesn’t know where Hag spawns, i’ll just psychically communicate that down my PS5 controller to coordinate that ok 😒
The killer usually spawns on the other side of the map, what I do every game is running straight on where a killer is to make sure it's not a hag or trapper. If they are then I harass em.

She shouldn’t even be automatically facing a survivor upon teleport either. That’s too much free automation.
Freddy isn’t automatically facing survivors.
Demo isn’t automatically facing survivors.
Why does Hag get so much free, easy hits?
Because Freddy and demo teleport on their own will into a location. Hag traps trigger based on the survivor's mistake

I don't understand the requirement of needing to crouch over traps. Why not make it so walking over them doesn't trigger them? I understand Pyramid Head's Rites of Judgement but not Hag's traps.
Also please rework Rusty Shackles and Mint Rag. For the love of god, I hate those add-ons.
I understand that not all killers need to be fun to play against, but Hag is on so many different levels it's not even funny.
I agree that the add-ons need to be changed. But the reason that you should crouch is simple: if you play against a killer that their traps activate only if you're sprinting, guess what you're not going to step in their traps

I agree, people literally complain about any killer, hag is not even the oppressive, you can easily trigger her traps when she busy , clicking click flashlight, maps, even perks counter her. People complain when a killer take more than a brain cell to adept too just look at wraith posts lol
A small objections, not many maps counter her. If she can set a web around a 3gen it doesn't matter :p
-
Incredible 10/10 rant forum from an entitled survivor main. I, the hag main that I am, accept the challenge of debating you.
A) Hag has a really weird play style that revolves around her making a web. That means that you can walk around the map, if you have the brain capacity to guess where her web is. And by the way, why walk? To keep your sprint burst? I'm surprised you didn't talk about running. Interesting.
B) wow, If you step into a trap you get hit! Groundbreaking! So by that logic trapper needs a nerf because if you step into his trap you're stunned.
C) that's incorrect. The trap is coded in a pretty balanced way: if you step on it and move into its direction or hold w whilst running towards the location of her phantasm due to the camera turning, you'll get hit. But if you trigger the trap and run in the exact opposite direction the hag cannot BY ANY MEANS hit you if she performs the teleport lunge. So that proves two things here: you haven't played hag enough or at all and you don't know how she works.
D) I actually agree on this one, if you get trapped on hook it's a real 50/50 if your teammates understand that you're trapped. And when they unhook they're in a lose-lose situation: if they run they'll get hit, if they crouch they'll lose a lot of time and the hag might have time to return on hook by that time.
"There is absolutely NOTHING BALANCED about a killer whereby the determining chances of success against them is whether someone in the team happens to have the correct item.
I just don’t get it. How?! HOW?!"
Hag is a strategic killer. In order to easily defeat her you need to harass her web, that means surveil her movements and acting accordingly, something that it's not common on the survivor role. It's true that flashlights are also her weak point, alongside urban evasion, but let's keep em out of equation.
"All she provides is a lopsided experience for the killer using her, and misery, frustration and a sense of pointlessness “why even bother trying...” for the survivors."
I actually agree that her chases can feel one sided sometimes, but it's because of her role as a trapping and methodical killer. If the trapper traps a loop and you step on the trap, I believe that it would also be a one sided chase. What you argue rn is "if a hag plays correctly then the chased will end quickly", no #########! If every killer plays correctly then the chase ends quickly.
"Please, why aren’t more of the community speaking up about Hag’s very real, very big problems?!"
Because they're not big, neither real, sorry bud.
"i’d also like to add that ever since the change to Ruin, it is now an absurdly frustrating perk to deal with when hag runs it."
Hag doesn't even need slowdown, the only slowdown I run is sloppy. So you really haven't played against a lot of hags. I assume you played against a hag and she destroyed you, so you decided to complain in the forums.
"anything that’s either an objective or a loop/vault that’s likely trapped"
NO #########! Where should a killer that traps #########, use their traps?! Randomly on a corn field?!
"She is a stain on DBD. The only positive thing about her is that she isn’t played prolifically for some odd reason."
I disagree. Methodical killers are a good addition in dbd. The reason she's not played it's because swfs destroys her and she needs a lot of game knowledge to use her in her full capacity.
So basically what you're saying is: I can't hold m1 on gens or hold w against this killer pls delete!
What I'm saying is: you need a brain to play against a hag. But I do agree on the hook argument.
-
I also find it stupid, since most players played the ptb in the first 24 hours like myself
-
I disagree, I think that making it not a hex will kinda kill low to mid tier players. I would personally make it also block windows
-
I enjoy both good messages and salty messages. I'm pretty casual so I do feel better when I get compliments as killer, and have a good laugh when I get salty messages
-
The answer is yes
-
Basically, survivors don't get a ton of anxiety when playing the game, whereas most killers do. Also survivors can play with friends and get points, unlike killer
-
Because people are idiots. When someone goes into a streamers chat and starts shitalking and the chat shows them that they're wrong, the person calls the streamer an idiot and their chat sheep. People are idiots
-
Sprint burst also gives more distance than dead hard, but I don't see people complaining about that. The 0.5 second dash is more annoying for killer players than the 3 seconds of 150% movement speed. Now, i know why it's so annoying it's because you feel, as killer, that you caught up with them and they can't loop you for longer, and then they deadhard and have one more chance. With Sprint burst you don't get that feeling because it's used before the actual chase begins for distance. Am I incorrect?
-
It's biased for me. If I get a hard chase that will last long I'll admit that the survivor is better than me and give up because patrolling the gens is important. If the team is bad or I don't play the game seriously then I'll try my hardest to keep up.

couple things.
1- this is just for fun.
2- this works on the honor system.
Every day, almost, we get a new discussion about how and/or why it should or shouldn't be X character to join the fog.
that's great and all, but let's spice things up a bit.
place your bets on who is gonna join.
name the survivor(s) and name the killer.
If you are wrong, you must play a game of killer, with the killer you hate playing the most, without perks and addons and get a ruthless killer.
Unless you are not on red ranks, in which case you gotta get merciless.
If you are correct, you get to point at everyone who was wrong in this discussion and go
https://i2.wp.com/blog.vanessasueroz.com.br/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Ha-ha.gif
and that's basically it.
You are obviously not required to record your match, but a printscreen showing that you did it should be easy to get.
For my bet, I have this one going
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/VTE6OBZLRDIH/ascasc.png
but in that I never said who I think is gonna join, so I'll do this one too.
RE is a special case where 2 survivors is possible so my bet is
Jill and/or Leon for survivor(s).
Nemesis for killer.
Clown is the killer I like the least, so I'll play him twice if I lose both bets.
Oh #########, ok it's happening, I'll bet 2 alternatives
Mr x with a nemesis ultimate cosmetic
Jack baker because he's a hot daddy
If I lose I'll have to play a plague game oh no

I didn't because I'm no my school chromebook, and they block comments and such, it sucks. But what don't you agree on?
First of all I press f to pay respects for you...
Secondly, I think Mr x has more chances of being introduced than nemesis. Nemesis is only ranged whereas Mr x is close ranged, so he has a lot more chances of being introduced. The resident evil 2 remake was more popular rather than 3 if I remember correctly, so that's a +1 reason right there. And I think that they will do a 360 10000 iq play. Basically, on steam they have 3 dlcs ready, some speculate that we will get 2 licences on the price of one, one resident evil and one random. I, the big brain playah that I am, have come to the conclusion that they will either release 2 dlc cosmetic packs that will feature legendary skins so you can play as Mr x and nemesis (nemesis would be the cosmetic) and some different cosmetics for survivors (like Chris?) Or they will introduce 2 killers and 2 survivors, that's my guess

I mean you have a good point the thing is for me with Nemesis. Its just I can't imagine him using rocket launcher as his power. I actually had an image in my head where Nemi shoots a missile at a survivor and its a direct hit, and they are put into the dying state. Just #########, I mean come on, how the ######### do you survive a DIRECT hit from god damn rocket launcher, just how. Mr.X I wouldn't mind but coming up with a power that unique and not a rehash power would be rather difficult.
You probably haven't seen the comments in the video, have you kappa
But for real, I agree with him in a lot of ways, but I have a few objections with his sayings.
-
So, I knew for a long time that resident evil existed, but never really played the games because I didn't like that kind of horror. After it was announced that re was coming to dbd I did a 2 days research to keep up with the lore and everything, just like in silent hill. The lore is pretty interesting, serviceable, I'd say, for the series because it gives them a ton of freedom to do whatever the ######### they want, and I came to the conclusion that nemesis, Mr x, jack baker (is that how's spelled? I'm dyslexic so I have an excuse to fk this up :p) and the main villain for the first 5 re games (the stars solider that turned bad, he was kinda lame and I forgot his name) are the 4 possible candidates as dbd killers. I have a lot of explaining to do, so here we go:
Lady d isn't gonna be added because the dbd chapter would start it's development alongside the resident evil village development, so since the re company wasn't sure if what they were building would be accepted by the community, it would be a great risk for behavior to ask for her as the main face of the chapter.
Nemesis is really well known by the community and has a lot going for him, although I'd say it's not entirely possible that he'll be able to be added since he usually fights with ranged weapons (like a rocket launcher? Ok you do you resident evil 3).
Mr x is also incredibly interesting and well known but let's be real people, in the context of dbd he's not interesting. He does exactly what the other dbd killers do, but in resident evil. He stalks and attack in close range. Both tyrants have no goals, besides blindly following umbrella's orders, so there isn't a good explanation on why they're in dbd.
The father of the baker family is probably the best candidate for dbd. He is only attacking in close range and makes sense on why he's going to be stopped by pallets, since he's still somewhat human. He also has limited control over his mutation, so he's serviceable. He has plenty of weapons to choose from and the dbd team will have a lot of freedom with his power. The only problem is that he was used in only on re game, whereas the other characters were featured in successful remakes as well.
Lastly, one of the most boring villains (in my opinion, I come as an outsider remember), he is featured in 5 or so re games and he is pretty popular. The problem is that he's lame and his power is lame, just like Mr x, he has nothing that makes him unique in the dbd cast.
So yeah those are my opinion, completely unrelated to the actual discussion point kappa
-
She's my wifu, she can destroy most teams if played correctly. It hurts to admit but.... Hag shouldn't be able to put traps under a hook. And some add-ons are bullshit, they really need a rework
-
As a person who came here after playing league, overwatch, csgo and rainbow six, I can safely say that it's not that bad. It is bad, ngl, but the toxicity I experience here isn't even close to the experience I experience on these games.
