  • Depends on the type of camping.

Face camping is when the killer doesn't move and is right on top of the hooked person, making saving them impossible without a trade.

Proxy camping is when the killer doesn't leave the person on the hook but doesn't sit in front of them either.

Swarming is when survivors never leave the hooked person, forcing the killer too camp too make sure they can't get a save. (this is the non toxic thing)

I know some people who like this map. They're called Scratched Mirror Micheal mains.

Even with Jumpscare Myers it's the worst out of the 3 good maps. The top level is so open it's really easy too spot him.

+ for a Rework. One of the most boring Maps to play for both sides. Pressing W and throwing/kicking safe Pallet after safe Pallet.

this. It desperately needs a rework. I hope it's the next one on the list because Aven said it right: it's the most boring map in the game. 80% of the pallets are safe, hook spawns can make complete safe zones since a hook won't spawn underneath one, and most of the time survivors just hold W too escape instead of trying too hide/mindgame the killer.

First of all, thank you for all the comments - it's been a huge help. I've finally had time to go through them all, and I have some clarifying questions for some people. Some of these may sound rather pedantic, but I'm genuinely just trying to understand your ideas better.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1253588#Comment_1253588

Which second chance perks specifically do you avoid as survivor? Why do you assume that Nancys and Bills in particular are likely to be a detriment to the team?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1253676#Comment_1253676

You say that you like to do totems as survivor if the gens are going too fast. Is that a tactical move in case of NOED (since if gens are getting done fast, it's likely no one else has bothered with totems), or a kindness to the killer, or a combination of both?

You teabag killers who camped and tunnelled, but don't want survivors to teabag you if you had a bad game. What if a killer camped and/or tunnelled because they were struggling? Do you consider it acceptable as a killer for a survivor to teabag you if you camped or tunnelled them? (I'm not attacking or judging you, just trying to understand your point of view.)

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1253697#Comment_1253697

Can you elaborate on what you mean about being toxic with perks? Are there particular perks that you will never use, or that you will only use in specific scenarios?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1254245#Comment_1254245

What would you define as "abusing" DS?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1254361#Comment_1254361

Do you ever use killers that have an insta-down built into their power? If so, do you use that power?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1254625#Comment_1254625

By "farmers", do you mean survivors who rescue teammates near you, or survivors who are trying to farm for bloodpoints?

If you don't use the Tombstone Piece, does that mean you also won't use Judith's Tombstone, or is that an exception for some reason?

What do you consider "accepting" a boop? Do you let the survivor escape, or do you only let them live until you see them again?

Do your survivor rules apply only to yourself as a survivor, or are those expectations that you have of the survivors when you play killer as well?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1254890#Comment_1254890

Do your survivor rules apply equally to other survivors, or are they purely self-imposed?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1258641#Comment_1258641

Do you avoid Haddonfield and Ormond offerings out of respect for the killer, or because you personally just don't like playing on those maps?

DS is the big one. If you use it properly then fine, but jumping into a locker or forcing the killer too grab you because you intentionally made a mistake is toxic IMO. Another one is a Sabo + No Mither team, It's completely unfair for the killer since he has no counterplay other then going too the basement every hook, which may not be possible. Object of Obsession in SWF is toxic IMO because you only need 1 person too have it too completely ruin your killer game. Mindgaming is impossible with one so you end up just tunneling that one person while the rest do gens, so you loose either way.

Hope this will clarify what I meant, sorry for the confusion.

Alot of killers that do this also tend to watch Tru3, who, let's be honest, can't accept his own mistakes.

I've seen times where he has decided to focus on one survivor instead of pressuring another on a gen, and then to lose and blame it on swf.

watching Tru3 has nothing too do with SWF lol.

If you don't like the dude or his content fine, but keep it too a post that's relevant too. Because you could literally replace tru3's name with anyone and it wouldn't change it.

Im tired of hearing people complain about how SWF is toxic and OP and how they should remove it from the game. SWF is only OP and toxic if you make it that way. I enjoy playing with my friends. We don't go around t bagging and constantly clicking flashlights and bring them every game or abuse them or anything like that. (I know just because we don't, that other people don't) We just have communication. If they remove SWF do you think this game is gonna still thrive?? Ask yourself that. People will leave. The game isn't fun for me to play on my own and many people think the same. BTW this isn't mean't to be toxic I just wanted to share my opinion. Thanks.

SWF isn't the complete issue, since most SWF teams are way too altruistic and usually cuck themselves by taking too many hits early on.

Biggest problem with SWF is the super toxic minority that do nothing but ruin games. Unless t bagging and flashlight click spamming become punishable offenses, SWF will always be a problem for anyone. Especially now where as killer you are literally stuck in the game because of the penalty with no way out, ruining their experience.

It's kind of icky and annoying but that's how Battle Passes get people to buy them. Essentially constantly tempt them with "look at all this cool stuff you would get! Don't you want to be cool like all the cool people with the cool stuff of coolness?"

This. If every free spot in the pass gave something, it would make less people buy it, thus less sales. And since BHVR is happy too go too the bare minimum just too appease people, they add just enough too keep most people happy and buying instead of filling a 10$ battle pass in a 30$ game with over 100$ of DLC too make it fair.

As i've said for a while: BHVR is super greedy, don't forget it lol.

  • @LetsPlayTogether said:

Just put 150 shards in each free empty space. Wont hurt anyone. Easy fix.

This. Or put XP/Bloodpoint Boosters in those spots. Make it last a day or so. Or add universal offerings, like splinters or party streamers. There's plenty too be done then just have empty space.

  • I would be exausted from that. IDK about dead/dying, but I'd be mildly upset.

As for OP, no matter how you spin it Chucky could never work in DBD, he's simply too small and would be incredibly unfair. Imagine him on a map like Coldwind, or Ormund, or Crotuss, he would be incredibly cheap and unfair. The only way he could work is if you used the living person inside of him, but then it wouldn't be Chucky, it would be Charles Lee Ray.

  • @Mert_MK said:

People should realize by now the OP is biased af and there's no point in arguing

OP actually abused legion back when they were broken, moonwalking so you go down either way, camping and tunneling. I know this because i played against them. So of course they want the next broken thing in the game to stay lmao, imagine being that bad.

Most survivors abused the Wake Up bug for unfair gen speeds, what's in the past has nothing too do with the discussion. All this does is target him and label him as "bad."

I don't condone abusing bugs but what OP does in game has nothing too do with the discussion at hand.

Nah, I mean that they probably dont belong to Red Ranks then. But Ranking up is too easy on both sides, so on both sides people who dont belong to Red Ranks are in Red Ranks. And think they should be there, which is wrong.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1262556#Comment_1262556

Besides what was already written, there is also a Scoring Event (Reunited)... And for me its simply wrong to see this pop up 3 times at the start of the match. Does not feel right.

Yea this is just silly lol. Ranking up is far from easy on either side, especially in soloque. All you are saying is an excuse as too why gens get done fast instead of the actual problem, which is gen speeds.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Even if Gen Time would be increased by 10 seconds, people will come here and cry they want additional 10 or 20 seconds.

If you have problems winning as Killer on those reworked Maps, you are probably at a too high Rank.

What kind of logic is this? So because people are in red ranks as killer, it's their fault for loosing? lol this makes literally no sense. OP is right, gen speeds are still too much and need nerfs. Killer's don't want free wins, but we shouldn't go into a game and think "yea this is a loss" before it even begins.

  • @Seiko300 said:

Tru3ta1ent really is a genius with Ghostface

Tru3 is a good Ghostface, but I don't think that would be his sole killer though, he plays everyone so I wouldn't say he's any specific killer main.

Who are some of your favorite content creators who focus on a single Killer or a few Killers? I'm working on a project and I'd like to put together a list of players who have Mastered at least one Killer.

Example: Umbra is known as an excellent Huntress player and would be a good fit for this project. Tru3Talent is known for playing all killers well, but has no main and is essentially a Jack of all Trades but a Master of None. This would prevent him from being part of this project.

I'm particularly interested in learning about smaller content creators who you think deserve more attention than they currently receive as a master of their preferred killer. A content creator that you would watch in order to learn a particular killer.

Ideally I would end up with a list of creators for each available killer, with no creator listed more than twice.

    Thanks for your help :)

    Trapper: EntitysLeftHand, Otz (tentative)

    Wraith:

    Hillbilly:

    Nurse:

    Shape:

    Hag:

    Doctor:

    Huntress: Umbra

    Leatherface:

    Freddy:

    Pig: Scorpionz

    Clown:

    Spirit:

    Legion:

    Plague:

    Ghost:

    Demogorgon:

    Oni:

    Deathslinger:

Umbra and her Huntress is a sight for sore eyes. Her shots and understanding of Huntress is next level. Can't recommend her enough if you enjoy watching or want too learn Huntress.

  • I'd say report them but the report button is literally useless, so the best thing too do is block them and move on. it sucks but not much too be done.

  • No. Deathslinger is already a weak killer, he doesn't need nerfs. What he needs are buffs. Better Reload speed would be a good start.

  • @Peanits said:

It bears repeating on a daily basis, but what you're referring to is not a problem with the hitbox, it's an issue with latency and hit authority. Contrary to popular belief, the hitboxes are not flailing around uncontrollably. The issue arises because what you see and what the killer sees are two different things. You might see yourself around the corner, but since that information takes time to get from your system to theirs, they see where you were a fraction of a second before, when you were still in the open.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1262384#Comment_1262384

They are both projectiles. Hitscan would mean you hit where you're pointing instantly, projectiles are an actual object with travel time (i.e. you have to lead your shots). The Deathslinger's spear is much faster and flies straighter than a hatchet, but they are both projectiles.

This doesn't change the fact hitboxes are still an issue in general. Pill shaped hitboxes on survivors with hatchets that are literally circles leads too the hitbox issue. Latency doesn't change the fact that when I throw a hatchet and it hits literally nothing and it still does damage, that's not latency, that's a hitbox issue.

  • @Kebek said:

And why does that matter exactly ?

It doesn't change the fact that it's problematic and needs more changes like many other problematic perks.

    This.

  • @Peanits said:

To play devil's advocate here, the things you've listed are just general tips when playing against Huntress. They don't counter the added power of an iridescent head specifically.

I will say that I don't use them often so I don't have the best sample size here, but the few times I have used them, it's been a landslide victory.

So will we see a change too this addon in the future or no?

  • @brokedownpalace said:

    Avoid vaulting pallets or windows...

Ah, so the counter is to simply stop using 90% of the survivors' defenses! Why didn't we think of that?! It's genius!

No it's an absurdly powerful add on. Imagine thinking being able to instadown a survivor from across the ######### map is balanced.

This. I don't even need too read more then just the title too know how clearly OP doesn't understand how broken iri head is. It literally is the most broken thing in the game next too mori's and keys. A good Huntress that hits 60-70% of their shots will always win with Iri head, no exceptions. Then you get too the ones that don't miss 80-90% of the time and the game is over before a gen is done.

I'm a killer main and I agree that Iri head is complete BS and shouldn't be in the game anymore. Make it be like Deathslinger where it only insta downs at a certain range and it'll be good.

  • Legion is fun in low ranks when people don't know how too do gens, once you get too green ranks it's a choire and a half.

Trapper is the same boat, once survivors start countering his traps and avoiding them you won't do much at high ranks.

If you don't mind being a no power killer then I'd say Trapper. He's much more fun then Legion and has a much better chance at red ranks with proper trap placement.

  • DS shouldn't be removed, but it def needs changes too be healthy for the game. I had a game where I hooked a Nea, then Hooked 2 other people after Nea was saved, and she still had DS and got the hatch. That's not fair no matter how you spin it my dude. DS should deactivated when the killer hooks someone else, so it can be an actual anti tunneling perk.

Even as a Survivor, I could tell the Killer was angry and frustrated. If the Devs don't want to get new people and only want to cater to the ones who play competitively and never leave the Purple/Red Ranks, then I don't want to keep playing.

I love this game, even with all it's bugs and glitches, but I can't keep playing toxic just to make sure I get some kind of victory.

It's not even about catering too high ranks, this also ruins those games because it's not fun too bully a new person. Makes the game too easy and feel like a waste of time. BHVR really needs too fix this issue.

Protects against camping and hard tunneling similar to a solo queue version of Borrowed Time, but has clear rules that allow the Killer to know when it is in play. Still useful, but it doesn't have leave the Killer guessing and doesn't punish them for having fast-paced games.

Yea I'd be fine with this.

  • @StutteringSpartan said:

I’ve been playing survivor a lot more recently after being a killer main for years and notice a hell of a lot of killers that tunnel...

I’m not talking unhooked in front of your face, toxicity etc. I’m talking purposely returning to the unhooked survivor just to hook them again.

So why do you do it? The excuse won’t work of “because it’s easier to 3 v 1” because we both know that’s BS it’s the easy way out instead of learning how to get better at the game.

We all play this game to have fun right? Killers wanna have fun and so do survivors right?

Tunneling somebody off hook isn’t fun for the survivor, it’s equally as frustrating for something that irritates you as killer whether it be body blocking or what not.

A simple solution would be for the devs to implement a ‘No blood point emblem score’ In short if you hook a survivor again within a certain grace period the killer is penalised for it, that being you gain no blood points or emblem for that hook. If they choose to camp that downed body then it gives the other solo and SWF survivors adequate time to do gens It’d derank killers into appropriate brackets until they learn how to play the game properly.

I’m well aware tunneling isn’t considers a “Bad word” by BHVR but I seriously think something should be done on this particular issue

Simple: If you have a key you're getting tunneled. Keys and Mori's ruin everyone's fun and a chance at fair games, so I'm gonna tunnel anyone who has a key.

You should get 1 freebie maybe to account for game crashes or server issues. But this game desperately needs a DC penalty, it's just ridiculous how much some people quit if you let them. You almost wonder if they ever even finish a full game.

Why can't it have a system like Last Year where you get 3 strikes then you're out? Plus survivors don't have a way too get around the penalty by just suiciding, in that game you HAVE too take a punishment. In DBD as survivor you literally just ######### on first hook 1 minute into the game and boom, avoided a penalty.

  • @DetailedDetriment said:

The DC penalty, most people have experienced whether it be from exiting a match, losing connection, or the game crashing, but that's just it. The penalty doesn't affect dcing as much as it affects poor connection or the game dying, meaning innocent players will receive bans for unfair reasons. Not just that, but the game is in such a 50/50 state that it could almost be considered early access by some. A game that has been out for 4 years, has over two thousand dollars worth of dlc, and is riddled with glitches is...not good?

I mean, the game is stable, but it's foundation is weak, and the path it is taking can closely resemble the path of DayZ, a game that has been in early access for years upon years. The only difference between the two is one isn't glitch infested and doesn't have a month's pay worth of dlc.

With all that being said, this game does need a dc penalty, but the state the game is in, and how the penalty was implemented is bad. The penalty should at the very least reset over a period of a week. Or even just go back by one penalty period.

These posts are repetitive, but they pinpoint a huge issue that is plaguing the game, and if it doesn't get fixed, then much of the playerbase (that's even left) will always be left with a "sour taste" in their mouths.

Please be civil in the comments. Danke.

Agreed. All DC penalties do is punish those who have poor connection or bug out, or they are stuck in super toxic games and they just don't want too deal with it. I've gotten some penalties like when I'm survivor and i'm getting nothing but farmed all game, or killer the gens get done in 3 minutes. Plus as survivor you don't even need too quit, you just suicide on hook and boom, no penalty. It's such an obvious oversight that it makes it worse that BHVR won't do anything about it.

It's hard enough being a new player, but explain to me the reasoning behind this kind of a matchmaking setup. I consider myself okay as a level 15 killer using a level 10 Freddy, but the game must think I'm a pro since it decided to pit me against survivors that weren't even double digits and had max perks with ultra-rare add-ons.

Almost every killer match is like this for me. No wonder a majority of players prefer to play as survivor.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/020/LATFWSYGNBL3.jpg

Matchmaking is always flawed, unfortunately there's nothing too be done about this but either quit killer or just eat the lost games. It's just as bad on PC and console alike.

He got a low skillcap AND a low skillfloor. If you understand killers there's nothing skillful about freddy.

You've clearly never played new Freddy. yes he is easy too learn, but learning where too place snares is incredibly crucial. A new Freddy won't be able too get a 4k the second he buys him. It'll take a lot of time for him too master Freddy and when too use Snares. Freddy is easy too learn but hard too master.

  • @RareOmen said:

It is because he is so strong and mostly played. It's not that his powers are boring, it's that since he is a great killer, he is used so often and that is why people think he's boring to play against, if you played against 5 Freddy's in a row, it can get boring.

TL;DR: Strong Killer>Repeatedly used>Boring games against the same killer.

This. Same thing can be said for Billy, Nurse, and Spirit.

  • @Dreamnomad said:

Anyone who thinks a ranged killer should be 115% move speed doesn't understand game balance. I think there is merit to the argument that Deathslinger is a worse Huntress. But the solution isn't to increase his move speed. There are plenty of aspects to his kit that can be improved. Faster reload, faster reel speed, harder to break chains, maybe different disability debuffs depending on where the survivor is shot (30 seconds hindered for leg shot, 90 seconds repair debuff for arm shot, 90 second blindness for head shot, 90 seconds mangled for torso shot or whatever), make the long range shot give exposed part of base kit, etc, etc, etc. There is plenty of room to tweak this killer to give him more of a unique identity and still balanced compared to Huntress w/o increasing his move speed.

Plague is a 115% Ms killer with a ranged attack, and she's not game breaking at all, even after her buff. Making Deathslinger 115% wouldn't be as bad as you think it is. I agree that it shouldn't be the first solution, but we shouldn't throw it off the table completely.

This is a thought i had during a game where the Killer literally did nothing but slug and facecamp.

    (insert beautiful Bubba main here)

Anyway as i was hanging from that hook i had time to think .... i thought why not make all survivor's at least safety pip if the killer get's depiped?

It's really frustrating to get hooked 1st, not being able to do aynthing because your Teammates can't safe you

    (we've all been there)

and then die with no points.

Seems like a big flaw in the system. Yes tunneling and patroling hooks is a strat, but come on man.. at least give the poor guy, who had no chance, to not get a depip because the Killer decides: "I'm going to ruin this guys day."

What do you think of this idea?

I think peantis said it best, it's not possible simply because the game is still going on, though I do like the idea. I agree that something should be done too give people safety's simply because the killer face camped, because it truly isn't fair for someone too be killed when they did everything right but get a bad killer.

Deathslinger pretty much ignores the game's core mechanics and doesn't teach players much of anything to improve on or against other Killers.

Deathslinger doesn't really do looping. The odds of pallet stunning one are near zero. They just mindgame you until they quickscope through a crack, a window or on a long wall. Honestly, chases with Deathslinger come down to him whiffing shots more than they have anything to do with a survivor's skill. At best, survivors are just making his shots harder to hit, but in the end it all comes down to the Deathslinger's aim.

Deathslinger doesn't really do the terror radius thing either. It's extremely popular to run Monitor on him to get the 16m stealth radius. Even perks like Spine Chill aren't great against him because its very hard to tell how close he is because his heartbeat gives you about as much info as Freddy's dream world music. He can literally sneak up on generators and quickscope from behind a wall outside of his terror radius so there's really no reaction time for the first hit in some scenarios.

He's a cool concept and all. And I bet he'll bring a lot of new players into the game because FPS mechanics. But I don't think he really works with the established gameplay of Dead By Daylight and kinda just does his own thing.... I think there's a reason why the Devs held off on an FPS Killer for so long. Playing against Red Ranked Deathslingers feels like you loaded into a different game altogether.

Can we stop with the "nerf X killer" thing? If you played killer at all you would know Deathslinger is incredibly weak right now, I'd barely put him in mid tier honestly. You could use this argument for Huntress, Spirit, or Nurse, and it would still be bad. Even with Monitor he's at 110% ms with literally no map pressure, so if you just do gens while he is chasing you'll win most of the time.

And who cares if you can't pallet stun him? Not all killers are meant too be hit by pallets, Nurse and Spirit are examples again. Billy, Leatherface, and Demo all have powers that break pallets on contact, Legion literally vaults them. Plus most of the killers i listed use mind games at pallets, they don't even need too break them. Unless it's a really small loop getting shot by Deathslinger will only waste his time.

All in all, he really doesn't need nerfs and I hate posts like this that are only going too make a weak killer even weaker. What he truly needs are buffs too his reload speed and ms. His power doesn't justify having such a slow MS.

You can't say that here. It makes too much sense.

Face camping is really annoying and I don't why it is not bannable, by bannable I don't mean pernament ban just something like a small punishment or maybe a warning. Today I played 3 games and in 2 of them I had those face campers that face camped me for no reason. I wasn't toxic at all never spammed my flashlight nor t-bagged. He just stayed and when he saw a survivor nearby he didn't chased him or did anything about it he just stayed next to me until I got sacrificed... at that point I just closed the game and went to play something else because that's not fun. I know that new players do that but the problem is when the high rank killers start to do that and it is just annoying and frustrating. My teammates repaired like 3 generators while I was on the hook and I completely understand that since they couldn't do anything to save me. I got saved once from the hook but he hit me immediatly after I got off the hook and proceeded to hang me again instead of chasing the guy who saved me.

Here we go again. here's a tip too counter face camping: do the gens. There is literally nothing stopping you from just gen rushing him, so he either has too play the game normally or he looses. Yes it sucks, but it doesn't happen every game, so get over it and do gens when they are face camping.

All you will do is ban people for being swarmed and being forced too face camp. Yes it's annoying, but it is a strat and once you start forcing people too play a certain way then you kill the fun the game has, because once camping gets banned then it's tunneling, then it's slugging, then it's gen rushing, and then the game is dead because no one can play the game anymore.

  • It does, but you just told me you just want completely safe pallets with no mindgames lol.

I agree with your assessment of Nurse if it was pre nerf. But current Nurse is not that good, I hear a lot about the legendary 10k hour Nurse that can 360 no scope you across the map with her pinkie finger and you won't be able to do anything about it. But I have never personally seen that.

As such I believe Freddy should be in the top 3, not Nurse.

Freddy has the pressure, but his kit simply isn't as good as Nurses, even post nerf. The top 3 IMO are (in this order) Spirit, Nurse, and Billy, then Freddy. Nurses kit will always make her a top threat, even if it's dogshit and buggy like it is now.

Your too late buddy, the month where survivors cried about Spirit is over. It's all about that gosh darn NOED now.

And there is counter play to Spirit, your just too inexperienced at it.

this. Spirit is balanced and fine as is, there is no reason too try and nerf her even more. Just learn counterplay and stop trying too nerf everything into the ground.

This map is honestly the most easiest map for killer than any map that you guys ever made. Even the good survivor can die in this map against a new player that is currently learning the killer side. The problem what is that has:

    • All windows doesn't give you any safety or slight distance, it will kill you if you try using them.
    • There is not an one safe pallet in this map. Even if this map has a lof pallets in this game, it doesn't matter, because loops between is too and doesn't give any mindgames between the players, and it's just gives the killer a free hit if the survivor tries to go to the next pallet or will force the killer to destroy the dropped one.
    • Upstairs, are the most pointless place that you guys ever made for both sides. It's overkill for survivor and completely pointless for killer to protect that generator, because it takes too much time to get up there.

Honestly I wish this map could have a badham treatment, because damn the badham preschool is the most balanced map for both sides currently. Few safe pallets, the rest one are kinda unsafe, but still you have a chance to mindgame and the windows are at least giving you some distance between killer, but not much.

The map does actually have safe pallets, but it's not like other maps like Haddonfield or Lery's where you drop it and then get a good 5 second head start. You have too mindgame the pallets too make them useful, which is why people say it's a bad survivor map.

  • This was way before EGC but I was Wraith and spent a good 30 minutes trying too find the last survivor. They were just hiding in the basement rotating around the lockers, not even trying too find the hatch. Legit was the dumbest thing in the world lol.
