  • Man people on this forum is savage af. Could of ignored the post. Instead lets all come and tell op we dont care. Cause clearly we dont care. So we have to post about how little we care. Cause we dont care. /s

Point is. If most people who claim they dont care, but yet posts to say they dont care kinda shows they care enough to post.

  • Tbh im only commenting for my post count. Everyone has said it already. We dont wanna celebrate you getting out. Just piss off and go to the next match lol

  • Once again: moris speeds up killer objectives.

Keys speed up survivors TRUE objective.

Moris skip a single hook state.

Your bow idea would likely never fly. Traps are already an instant down if a survivor is tricked into one (and you're close enough to capitalize on it). Adding a *ranged attack*, one of the most powerful abilities a killer could have, would make the trapper way too powerful.

His ultra-rare addons seem fine when you compare the power of them to other ultra-rare addons other kills have.

What trapper truly has a problem with is his consistency.

A trapper that can't even hold two traps feels gimped since you now have to choose between using your trap for trapping a location or holding onto one so you can use it to shut down a loop mid chase. It's always annoying to see a survivor escape on their first attempt releasing themselves from the trap, and I'm sure it's annoying to survivors to fail a dozen attempts to free themselves while the trapper is the entire length of the map away. Default trap locations is also praying to the RNG gods that they give you traps in locations that are convenient to pick up.

    I would give the following to trapper to make him more consistent;

    • Allow him to carry a max of two traps by default and nerf the respective addons that increase his max traps.
    • Change the spawn code of his traps so that they are more towards the center of the map and remove one trap from the max pool available. This way he has more consistent access to traps without being overbearing.
    • Freeing yourself from a trap should take a set amount of time (adjust this time accordingly). This will allow the trapper to make a more informed decision of whether or not a survivor is too far away to attempt to capitalize on.

I would also like add to this cause i like your changes: skill check to pop traps

You have a valid point, but I feel like you're comment perfectly embodies the problem that so many killers have.

Everything is done with an eye towards maximizing fun for the survivors. And since it's not fun to lose, get hooked, get downed, etc, there are a million ways to avoid them. Perks, nerfs to killers, the constant clamoring for "counterplay" (really, just a demand that it should always be possible to evade and escape a killer, no matter what they do).

Meanwhile, the things that are fun for survivors -- long, drawn out chases, tense moments crouching invisible in the bushes while the killer walls right next to you, surprise escapes after being downed or hooked, or surprise immunity to hits that you can spring on a killer -- completely ruin the game for killers.

Stealth is boring. If you think mending is bad, trying playing against a fully immersed Claudette sweat squad.

Chases are just stressful. Killers have so many tasks demanding their time already that long chases (something that absolutely should be fun for killers, too) are just stressful reminders that you need to stop playing with your friends and get back to you chores.

And second chance perks are absolutely awful to play against: you do the thing you're supposed to do and you get punished for it. Or you know it's a problem and your only option is to avoid that survivor (who then realizes they have immunity and flaunts it -- ironically, there's no good counterplay for second chance perks and still I have yet to see one of the daily counterplay threads insisting on a change to those perks).

I play red rank killer. Trust me. I know

Nvmd... I watched the replay and I noticed my tokens disappeared due to nurses calling.

I didn't know nurses calling can use all 3 of ur tokens in a consecutive manner. So if 1 heal takes idk 25 seconds? Well distortion at tier 1 only last 6 seconds. So back to back it's 6 seconds after 6 seconds after 6 seconds, all 3 tokens are gone.

But it defeats the purpose becuz can Bubba see the aura of the survivor whose healing me? Idk but distortion kinda sucks.

It should stop aura reading for 20/25/30 seconds in my opinion.

Idk about this distortion build. I'm kind of disappointed. All 3 tokens gone from 1 event of healing. And it still didn't do its job. Becuz killer eventually saw my aura after the tokens were consumed.

Well its rank 1. Rank 3 has 10 secs. Also 25 seconds to heal.. wut? But yea against nurses calling its useless.

So I went and ran the build u suggested. Unfortunately distortion is currently bugged for me. It doesn't always work.

bubba came straight at me after hooking someone when I had 3 tokens. At some point, 2 tokens disappeared out of nowhere.

Ok fine, benefit of the doubt.

But than at the end, I had 1 token left, after hooking someone, bubba came straight at me again?! Hit me, hooked me, and I died. I still had 1 token left. The 1 token didn't disappeared when it should.

The first token also didn't disappeared when it should. Both times when it didn't disappeared or 'consumed', bubba came straight at me and killed me.

*Map was swamp. PS4 pro. Using Nea. It's bugged at least for bbq for sure.

    What perks was bubba using?

Oh wow! I never thought of that. I am a totem cleanser and run small game. I should use distortion. I wish it came w 5 tokens instead of 3 though. I could wipe out all the totems fairly quickly as I have a general knowledge of all the totems spots.

Im unsure if you were being sarcastic.. imma say you arent cause i like believing in people.

Yea people often forgets some perks counter killer perks and killers in general. Which is funny. Sure its not a perfect counter but 3 less totems on the board means less totems to cleanse. Unless killer also uses bbq and chili... then well. Yea you can quickly fall behind in distortion tokens.

Most ppl play this game for the chases, not to hide all game. If ur saying you need to hide against ruin undying to win, then alot of ppl wont wanna play this game.

What im saying is by definition of survivor is to adapt to any situation to allow yourself to live. Btw, you missed the bt and sb in the build? If you dont like sb you can switch to any exaustion perk. Or any self healing perk instead of bt.

Which for the record you admitted to one of the biggest problems of the game. Survivors wanna rely on the same tiring things over and over again. Sure chase is fun. But how does that help your team? Youre just talking 1v1 and you deserve to lose. Every time. Sure you buy your team sometime but what if the killer is waaay better than you. You got into a chase for nothing cause its "fun" then come to the forums crying how it killer perks changes meta and is op.

And if youre on killer side, you really dont want long chases anyways because time is against the killer.

You've literally got the most stealth urban claud build i've ever seen, and frankly ppl who seem to defend undying ruin always have this playstyle, which myself and many others in the game find incredibl boring, so no we are not switch to that playsyle.

Well that is subjective isnt it? I find it more fun to see how close i can get to a killer with out being spotted.

Also... cant be an urban claud build if i dont use claudette or urban evasion. But literally thats semantics right?

Alsoooo.... "we find that playstyle boring so we arent gonna switch to that" ha... hahaha. Way to adapt and overcome your issues.

  • @Impermanent said:

Christ almighty. Every other... no every 2 out of 3 games is this goddamned broken build. If the devs aren't going to fix it, how about you killers admit that it makes the game easy as goddamned hell and stop running it. I started equipping Small Game to hunt the totems down but it still doesn't help since the aura feature brings the killer to me and I end up getting stopped. Add Tinkerer or an Ebony Mori... this is just more freebie killer fun at survivor expense. When will you devs wake the F up.

So im unsure if someone mentioned this to you but... distortion counters undying 3x. Hopefully you arent a meta user and are willing to run perks to change the flow of the game. I would try using that

I do think when quoting low escape rates this particular stat was overlooked, but (as I said in my summary) I do also believe the developers listen to community feedback. The experience's of the developers are clearly a stark contrast to our own (as they said to simply ignore the OoO user, which isn't the problem with the perk at all) so we just need to make clear exactly what the issue with the perk is, and give contructive, civil feedback to them (something this forum, and community in general, are not very good at).

    Thats actually valid.

  • A rework. Any buff right now would make him more boring to play against..

Yes, feel free to call me out on if I break the rules I set for myself, since I try my absolute best to follow them regardless of circumstances. The only, and I mean only, exception to the no tunneling rule is when there's an OoO. Then I'll try my best not to, but I might 'slip up'.

I know this is derailing the thread but i want your thoughts on something i said earlier.

Do you think devs are forgetting killers tunnel ooo out the game which is why they have such low survival rates?

Well it's for aggressive M1s like Nurse. BBQ, Infectious, Sloppy, Blood echo. You get one injured down them down the other person with infectious hook him go back to the other person injured with BBQ. Who's injured because of sloppy and he won't get away because Blood Echo took his Dead hard or Sprint Burst or any exhaustion perk. Then rinse and repeat or keep Sloppy and Blood echo and change out the other two but that's my build.

Ooo i like that. I may try that on my freddy or something

You're assuming so many things here thouhg, this is like the best case scenario. Assuming the killer doesn't find you, assuming it's not a mobility killer or doctor. Assuming its not a hag, trapper or p head forcing you to avoid their traps, assuming the killer has not already downed some else and begun applying pressure, assuming you can actually find the totems and that they spawn in the right spots, assuming you don't run into the killer. This is literalyl just a once off scenario.

Not exactly. My build is spine chill calm spirit bt and sb. Its designed for my play style. Only thing that gives me trouble is nurse and spirit. Or a great killer in general. Also i know the difference between 1v1 and 4v1. Im not the only one on my team. There is 3 other survivors. I also know the real object is to waste killer time. If do know how to loop so i can buy my team time if i need to.

And most importantly. Adaptability. Everything doesnt always go according to plan. So you do need to think on your feet.

  • @Tsulan said:

Yes, they forget that certain perks cause a certain behavior on both sides.

But perks are not licensed (or are they?). So it shouldn´t be a problem to change them. I mean, BHVR isn´t a indy dev team. They could change perks more often. We have a ton of unused perks, that are just waiting for a buff/rework. How about changing those first, before touching the newer ones?

Its because they are worried about revenue i believe. Personally i agree with you. I also dont understand half the issues dbd is having. I also dont get why in 3ish months it took them this long to only "fix" these small perks. But issues that the game are having takes a long time.

  • @Withered8 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1721413#Comment_1721413

How do you have time to do that much stuff tho. The killer should be pressuring you and forcing you to heal, forcing you off of gens and doing all the normal killer stuff.

Killer's seemed to be winning perfectly fine before this combo, so why was it nescasery?

Because when you know the maps you know safe spaces to hide in. Or where to loop. Also spine chill gives me so much warning. (If any perk needs a nerf its this but thats not this convo) so usually i fk off and check a spot where i think a totem will be.

Now with totems. Think of it as 2 sets of quadrants. Totems will spawn in one of these quadrants maybe. Which usually helps me find them easily. (Hense why i say totems need a better job at hiding).

By the time i cleanse a totem or come back to the gen he should of fkd off by then. Which now gives me anywhere from 15 to a whole gen to complete before he comes back.

By this time 3 things could of happened. Another gen popped. A killer found another surv is is about to down them. Or i find a second totem. Usually i memorize second totem location and go for the unhook. Because pressuring the killer = alive survivors. I then go back to totem then find a gen. Usually by this time i find gens almost complete or has some time. And basically rinse repeat as i see fit.

a couple of culprits have led to this. 1.the ridiculous rank reset we currently have 2. The fact that double depip was taken away 3. Old ruin being nerfed

#3 is a very large culprit in the lack of any running capability. Unless newish survivors learned to hit great skill checks, they had no choice but to learn to loop the killer as there would be very little gen progress. The new ruin has a bit of similar thing in that if the survivor gets downed in 15 secs gen regression is a real threat. The big difference is that simply spreading out and sticking to a gen directly defeats new ruin.

the game (without any good iteration of ruin) was condensed down to 6-7 minutes of either the survivors slamming gens, or the survivors slugged on the floor. There was no growth in looping.

the devs in their zeal to make 6 minute games restricted any ability to learn looping, and now we have boosted red ranks that can’t last 15 secs in a chase or waste every pallet on the map in the first few minutes while fully healthy.

all of this has led to a false sense of ease in the game as though it were some kind of action game. (Notice how the dc rate sky rocketed when undying was released and boosted survivors couldn’t rely on 3 gens popping in the first few minutes because the boosted ones couldn’t loop)

to add to that, the matchmaking doesn’t distinguish between a “true” red rank and a boosted. If I get a room and start a chase with a real red I’m not going to waste my time with them when I can easily down the boosted teammates they got paired with. It’s obvious that the real red gets frustrated because they will literally follow me around trying to initiate a chase but I just ignore them.

in the end, boosted survivors need to realize they are boosted, bite the bullet and learn to loop.

But but...thats not allowed. How dare you. Its tunneling and camping.... its both. Reported :( /s

What? There is no reward you loose the game either way.

I disagree. Once again its 4 v 1. Now if one of your team is weak...well that's a different story. I escape a lot of the time and i do 2 gens and all 5 totems. And 2 unhooks. Im always doing something.

NOED only gets you 1 kill against good teams, after you already lost the match. It is extremely overrated. Ruin undying will get you 3 or 4. Bloodwarden is extremely counterable and the 99% door meta is already a thing because of it.

Uhm, no. Just a dev statement from the last stream (about OoO). Since it´s not used that often, and its user don´t have a particuarly high survival rate = no nerf.

Well... okay so i need you to follow my train of thoughts here.

Remember the dev stream and them talking about licensing? And how they talked about how difficult it is to nerf licensing killers and perks? I think the real reason they dont wanna nerf oo is cause of how annoying it would be to go thru the whole proccess. (Explains why freddy took a year+ to fix)

What devs forget is killers will tunnel ooo out the game.

  • @DaKnight said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1721384#Comment_1721384

By the time survivors have done all 5 totems, a competent killer could have easily gotten 2-3+ extra gens worth of time through ruin undying. It's probably the strongest killer perk combo I have ever seen in DBD, especially on meta killers. I don't play nurse/spirit/etc much anymore but on pyramid head it's just disgusting to send someone to a cage after pushing them off a 70% gen with tinkerer and by the time they heal and get back it's almost at 0 again.

Idk... i mean noed bloodwarden and egc exists.

But then no totems r done if you just hop on a gen, leaving the killer with tremendous slowdown later on.

You see the problem? You do gens and ruin undying stays and makes the game insanely hard to win later on. You do bones and then no gens r done.

Sounds like 2 things risk vs reward. And wanting your cake and eating it too

  • Okay so... tunneling is wildly accepted as going after the unhooked survivor and nothing else. Even ignoring other survivors who takes hits..

Now that this is clear here is not tunneling: accidently finding them again. Getting unhooked infront of killer. Getting unhooked infront of killer and then going right to killer for bt hit. If surv has time to heal or do a gen.

  • @SleepyWillo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/202709/devs-about-undying

I'm a big fan of undying but it does need a slight change. As Otz suggested, make cleansing Undying remove renewed totems, or remove the aura reading. As it stands, it does too much. It completely overshadows ToTH. Perhaps if they put the aura reading on ToTH as a compromise?

I disagree. Yes the perk does a lot. But it is a hex perk. Once a hex perk is gone its gone.

How ever. I will agree with it if hex totems where hidden better, but so many totems are literally in the open still, its kinda bothersome for hex perks really. I mean imagine, running a hex build but 10 secs in game its gone cause totem spawns. Least with undying i have a chance to defend my totems vs having to now play with 3 or 2 perks for rest of the game.

Thanks for the support in both tags.

I’m too lazy to go into immense detail, but yeah, anything that keeps Survivors busy doing anything other than gens is good, no matter how short a time it is (seconds count in this game).

But i’m totally anti meta. This isn’t to say I have any stigma towards anyone that chooses to use the meta. That’s not what I mean at all. It’s just that I have a natural inclination to constantly mix up builds and experiment with perks, ESPECIALLY the ones that I first perceive as bad, or just “don’t get it”.

It pays off. Almost ALL perks are seriously underrated, under utilised, and greatly misunderstood.

Forced Penance is a good recent example. When first announced it seemed so pointless to me. So I forced myself to keep using it so I could understand the point of it. Now it’s one of my favourite perks from the past year.

You should write a clown guide <3

Moris skip 1 hook state. Is it fair? Ehh.... is it needed? Sometimes. Is it fun? Depends on your outlook.

As any killer player knows time is against the killer. Killers cant be 4 places at once. Also it feels like the reworked maps are surv sided. It sounds like an l2p issue, and maybe it is, but moris help reduce thr amount of survs to buy the killer time esp since he cant be 4 places at once.

With all the informations survivors have. And all the second chance perks. A good portion of the time, Esp on maps like ormond or red forest, a killer fan fall behind very quickly and never catch up.

Point is, moris as much as people dont like them are a necessary evil. Just like keys are.

    1) Most killer uses a surround 3rd party programm and makes it a lot easier to hear survivors, I tried that myself and I would say it is cheating. Anyways if u have decent headphones Then sounds are not a problem for u (like me)

    2) Yes, what's the counterplay to a guessing game? Pls answer me... Survivors get 0 info, while spirits get sounds, grass, scratchmarks, footsteps, breathing sounds and grunts... What do survivors get? Yeah! nothing.

    3) Yes, it is okay to have a strong killer, what isn't okay is to have a unbalanced killer.

    4) Cause ScottJund is open for this, and always when he challenges someone, they just say "nah" And ScottJund isn't "unbeatable"

    5) Oh yesh, let me use urban evasion, when stealth is getting gutted every patch they add a new perk. And no ones run like a idiot, and I didn't know mindgames means "0 info for one side, All info for one side" Lol.

    6) I dont fall for that I just run and that's all.

    7) Yes, and? Survivors get nerfed too, does that means that survivor shouldn't get nerfed again (By using your logic)

    8) Yes, and? Dont use "I play as survivor more than killer" this argument is really old on this forum and just makes u look like a clown.

Btw u didn't answer me: What's the counterplay to a spirit IN a chase?

    @Bullettimegod Oh and edit:

Saying "Play stealthy" isn't really a argument, You will eventually get found NO matter WHAT, so what happens when u get found, Mr?

Anyways, you didn't even bother to mention a solid/good counterplay against her, so yeah..

First off calling someone an entitled killer makes you look like a clown.

Anyways. Prediction. And remembering the game is 4v1 and not 1v1. A killer will catch you eventually. Against a spirit time is of the essence. If youre getting chased and your team is doing ######### all then youre gonna lose. Best way to deal with spirit is to pound them gens.

Now in a chase. Standard looping works up until she uses her power. At this time i would act like i am moving to the next loop area but circle back. (Not all killers use 3rd party. I play 55/45. ) stridor spirit is strong but remember, youre buying time for the other 3. It works 65% of the time for me. The real issue i have with her power is how quick she can move back to the hook. And its esp dangerous if she has myc.
