  • If the devs get good information out of it, it's a success.

Yes, which results in a depip for everyone. Seems like you like to camp since you are defending it so much…

I tend to avoid it. It only works against bad teams. I guess that's why you get so bothered by it.

How do I play around a facecamping bubba? I’m on the hook. Can’t do anything. Btw I’m already good

If you're good, I'm sure you realize this game is 1v4, not 1v1. So questions about how do YOU play around a facecamping bubba are pointless. You should be asking how your TEAM can play around him, which is by doing gens.

  • I'm pretty sure the only type of bodyblocking that is reportable is when survivors do it to eachother for griefing purposes like trappying someone in that back room on the game map.

  • Calling it now. Rocket car is going to be the next killer. Hooks get replaced with goals and you have to hit survivors through them.

  • What you're doing wrong is trying to learn how to do an exploit which will probably be fixed and leave your time wasted instead of learning how to play Blight properly.

  • Why do people exist that make up their own rules for the game and expect others to follow them?

Just a question here then. Why is T Bagging and Flashlight clicking unsportsmanlike and toxic then. They're apart of the game too, but the community considers them toxic, when that could be a strategy to get into the killers head and make them mad, so they play bad.

I only consider it toxic when it doesn't benefit them, like at the exit gates, otherwise you're right. Trying to tilt the killer is absolutely a valid strategy. The same way I don't consider slugging toxic, but slugging and letting all the survivors bleed out to let them suffer is.

  • "Why won't people play the way I want them to? If they don't throw the game for me then I might LOSE! The only reason they might do that is because THEY can't stand the idea of losing!"

Did I summarize your post well enough?

All of that is besides the point. It may all be factually accurate but the concrete numbers aren’t in the descriptions of any of those things. It’s all left to vague desciptors like “moderately increases healing”. You can’t argue with that. But 100% of something? THAT is going to be a problem!

For most people, the problem is solved when they hear "percentages in dbd work additive, not multiplicative".

Seems like there is a toss up between blight and clown. I should probably just buy one then get the free one as the other at this point lol

Just a heads up, the devs said they're going to give out enough iri shards to buy a new killer during the anniversary event next month, so you could always hold off til then for the other one.

  • Probably eventually. Victor shows a small killer can work and he could always have some sort of pyramid head like mechanic to hook survivors. It would even be kinda funny to just have him drag them, Nemesis showed that BHVR is willing to do unique carrying animations.

  • @WeenieDog said:

I still play him every now and and again, but constantly sliding off surfaces just takes the wind out of my sails. I had a moment where I was running in place and I can only suspect that I was running into hatch while it was invisible.

Yeah, I just picked him up and have been having a ton of fun with him, but it's pretty annoying to have to do trial and error to figure out what things you just can't bounce off of. Cars have been the worst offender for me.

  • People DC for really petty reasons. I was trying out Nemesis on the PTB and started chasing this survivor. She was actually pretty damn good and looped me for at least a minute (making a conservative guess, it was probably closer to 2 minutes). I then got a hit (a HIT, not even a down, I think she was already infected by this point, so it just made her injured) with my power at pretty much the max range for tier 1 and I guess she disagreed with the hit because she DCed. I just didn't get it. It's not like that was game over for her, her looping put the game in a VERY winnable position since it got me off to such a slow start. Even with the DC I think I still only managed 1-2 kills, if they still had a fourth, it probably would have been a 0k.

I mean some stuff is pretty overpowered though you have to admit, for example Iridescent Head and NOED. When it comes to killers I think the killers are either pretty balanced or underpowered. When it comes to toxicity I don't think using Iri Head or NOED makes you toxic it depends on how you use them although I have little respect for anyone that uses NOED because to me it shows that you are planning for every generator to be popped which is planning for failure.

Oh yeah, I agree 100%. Asymmetrical games are super hard to balance and I don't think things will ever be perfect. Say what you want about the skill level of people who exclusively use overpowered stuff, if they rely on it then it's definitely a crutch. I just don't like when people call it toxic, that's all.

  • I think, most often, killers complain for BHVR to change things and survivors complain for killers to change their own play.

  • @gendoss said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2244911#Comment_2244911

It's not my approved list lol there are just some things that are more overpowered than others. Freddy for example has a 75% kill rate in the average red rank game. Meaning that even an average Freddy will get 3 out of 4 kills in a typical red rank game. Most people don't play Freddy because he's that fun, he's objectively unfun having an uncomplicated kit, they play him because they know they can get 3/4 kills every game especially with builds that make it even harder to play against. Those people are toxic, specifically going out of their way to ruin games and not even have any fun in the process, do you not agree with that?

No, I think you're making a lot of assumptions to call things toxic. Someone playing a killer that they want to play is not toxic. Survivors using meta perks is not toxic.

You obviously have a personal list of things that are not okay because there's definitely not an official list.

If something's in the game, it's not toxic to use it. I don't get why that is so hard to understand for you. Just because YOU think something is overpowered and YOU think using that thing is toxic doesn't mean it is

Stop making excuses. Accept the game for what it is, not what you think it should be.

  • @gendoss said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2244901#Comment_2244901

Like I said, you have a right to use whatever you want because it's in the game and that's fine. All I'm saying is that people are toxic if they want to inflate their ego by being okay at the game but winning constantly because they're using overpowered builds/killers. The same can go for survivors like being a 4-man and spamming BT, DS, and all that.

But I bet you think a 4-man SWF using OP perks and flashlighting is toxic but a rundying tinkerer nurse is just fine.

And I'm saying that calling using add-ons and items toxic makes you more toxic than the players using those things could ever be

And now you're just making assumptions. Why would I think it's toxic for survivors to use what they have available? Again, those things are in the game for a reason.

I'm sorry, but players choosing to use things that aren't on the gendoss-approved list doesn't make them toxic.

  • @WiiFitTrainer said:

Dbd: the game where everyone is pissed at you and it doesn't matter why

Exactly. People don't like to lose, so they'll find a reason why the match was unfair, no matter how you play.

  • @gendoss said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2244894#Comment_2244894

Obviously you have a right to use whatever is in the game. Just accept that you are supplementing skill for unbalanced killers/builds just to ruin other people's days. Stop giving yourself as much of an unfair advantage as possible.

Those things are in the game for a reason. Stop getting salty because players use the options available to them. If a player not handicapping themselves is ruining your day, it sounds like a you've got some problems to work through.

  • @gendoss said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2244818#Comment_2244818

I disagree. When you specifically choose builds or characters only because they are overpowered and don't care about having fun and just want to win that's toxic to me.

Yeah, how dare people use things the devs added to the game. Truly toxic behaviour. It's as bad as the people who buy guns in counterstrike. Stick with the stock pistol you toxic, toxic people.

  • @pedrolito said:

Like I said I won't argue anymore with you since you refuse to consider anything. Have a good fun camping and tunneling.

Have fun using every excuse for losing, except for the ones that involve you.

  • @pedrolito said:

I'm an average player, that's what I try to explain. You like camping, tunneled people? Do your tthing. I just explain to you that:

    1: It's toxic.

2 : it's ruining the game for the personne on the hook.

It's not "my rulebook" or a way to be salty. Just a fact.

If it's not your rulebook, what is it? You're staying your opinion as if it were a fact. You have a definition of camping that is so broad you can apply in any game. That killer in the video defending the hook to guarantee an extra hook state and you claim that ruins the game for people. It really seems like you're just making up rules.

  • @Laluzi said:

I think we're misunderstanding each other. I'm not advocating giving up as soon as you hear a Nurse wheeze across the map, or you notice that your Spirit is running Mother-Daughter, or you see that the killer burned a black ward. I'm saying it's fine to throw in the towel when you've got three people left at four gens, the killer's got Ruin/Undying, and you can't even go look for them because you're locked in a cycle of one person being chased, one person being downed/hooked, and one person going for the rescue. There's no path to anyone escaping that doesn't involve being a potato and hatch camping, or the killer suddenly having an aneurysm and spinning in circles for the next four minutes.

My willingness to keep fighting runs parallel to my number of teammates left. If there's no remotely feasible way out, and my staying doesn't help anyone else survive, I'm not under any obligation to continue being a punching bag for someone's entertainment. Doubly so if the killer's one of those types that wants to slug for the 4k and will. not. let. the. game. end until he has both survivors on the ground in front of him. I'm not interested in sticking around for hatch, and my death lets the other guy get it, so why not? Killer gets their win, I can move onto the next game, everybody profits. The only reason to stay in such a situation is to either fight for hatch or try to secure a pip.

Maybe a way to do a vote forfeit would fix this. I just don't want the solution to be not playing the game. If there was some forfeit system in play, I'd be much more okay with it.

Just to point out here, I agree with you that you shouldn’t give up just because something isn’t going your way, but there are things in this game that deliberately take away the enjoyment out of the other sides experience.

Huntress bringing Iri Head, survivors bringing BNPs or keys, certain map offerings such as Hawkins or Strode keys.

Like OP was saying, don’t be surprised if people don’t want to play along with your pre-assembled power trip.

Then they should post in the feedback section rather than throwing the game. Iri hear got nerfed when enough people said something.

If someone's playing in a game where strong add-ons and items exist, they shouldn't be surprised when people use those add-ons. The difference is the person using the add-ons is trying to play the game. People giving up when they see those add-ons are trying to play a twisted version of the game that follows their personal rules.

  • @skylerbound said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2243919#Comment_2243919

I don’t disagree that players shouldn’t give up on either side. That’s not my post. My post is about others complaining when they give up after one side has already stacked the odds in their favour. Those are distinctly different topics to me.

if I were to run meta build on spirit plus her best addons. I would not at all be surprised or mad if I got dcs. I understand, especially with soloQ that it can be incredibly unfun. I also know that with a good swf that build can even the playing field. So I see a purpose for these offerings and add ons and why one would use them but can empathize why it would be oppressive toward a different group of solo players.

thus why I agreed with the earlier comment it would be better for us to know if it’s a swf at the beginning to make proper use of perks

I do agree that the other side shouldn't complain, just move on and play the next game.

I just wish people would only join a match when they wanted to play a game. People who join and only want to play a match if the other side avoids using whatever they have on their no-no list should stick to private matches.

Your post seems to put all the blame on the person using the add-ons and I don't think that's right. Players can advocate for certain add-ons or items being nerfed, but if they decide to play anyway, they're accepting that those are things in the game that they may have to deal with.

  • @pedrolito said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2243500#Comment_2243500

Basically, my only right is to accept being camped and tunneled just because the killer don't want to play? that's it?

I'm not some tryhard dude who loop over and over, who stay hidden in every bush or so. I made mistake, I get chase, I finish on the hook. I's fair game. And then, the ugly part start. The killer stay put or leave for... 5-10meters. If someone come unhook me or if he sees some oher survivor he pretend to chase him et come back to me just after without event me a second to run.

So, no, you don' play "AFTER" getting hooked. Some killers even stay glu to you a few seconds to counter the perk when you are unhook in their radius (sorry, don't have the name in english).

When the killer playing toxic as hell and ruining your game, i's no about accepting a loss at all. If you can't understand that, we wasting our time each other.

Okay. Just clutch onto your personal rulebook to give you emotional support when you lose. I'm sure that will help you improve.

What do you even mean you don't "loop over and over"? That's what you're supposed to be doing, getting away from the killer. I'm starting to think that you're so caught up in the rules you've created that you've forgotten how the game actually works.

  • @Laluzi said:

I don't see why survivors shouldn't give up if the game is clearly unwinnable and there's no worthwhile experience to be had in it. Or would you rather have people swapping between lockers for thirty minutes because it's the only way to maybe get out of the scenario alive?

If survivors giving up is boring for the killer - it's pretty hypocritical to claim one side's fun matters when that principle clearly didn't go the other way around.

I don't think Killers should give up when survivors bring keys or BNP either. It does go both ways.

Players shouldn't give up. That's all I'm saying. If you accept that the situation is completely hopeless, you're never going to learn how to play in that situation. Sure, it may be difficult, but it's never truly impossible.

It feels like you just want to turn this game into something where people look at what the killer / survivors brought and then one side just gives up because apparently there's no point in continuing if one side has any sort of advantage.

  • @Nebula said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2243880#Comment_2243880

I wouldn’t call it unsportsmanlike to “give up”if one side is deliberately trying to take the enjoyment out of the other sides.

Like when old moris were a thing and killers could literally take a player out of the game within a minute. Why would the remaining three survivors keep trying? It’s a waste of time for all people, in my opinion it’s much better for everyone to just move onto the next game

So running anything strong is "deliberately trying to take the enjoyment out of the other sides"? Is there some sort of label in the blood web on these addons and perks? "WARNING: WILL RUIN OTHER PLAYER'S EXPERIENCE. WE PUT THESE ADDONS IN AS A TEST, IF YOU ARE USING THEM, YOU FAILED AND ARE A BAD PERSON".

    Maybe that would be helpful.

The way I see it is, "this player is using something I don't feel like dealing with. Screw my teammates, I'm not playing". And that is what you're trying to defend here. Just want to make that clear.

I really don't get how saying people shouldn't throw games is a controversial opinion.

  • @Nebula said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2243851#Comment_2243851

Why did this post upset you so much?

He acknowledges both sides here. No one wants to play when one side is going all out with what they bring and the other side is just looking to enjoy themselves. He’s not saying that you can’t bring these things but he’s simply saying don’t be surprised if the other side doesn’t want to play.

It's a defense of unsportsmanlike behavior which is something I don't think people should be trying to spread.

Why does my post upset you so much?

  • Because you felt the need to make a thread defending the behavior, outright supporting it.

  • As long as you can find a reason that it wasn't your fault you lost, that's all that matters right? How could you be competing with killers who bring addons when an honorable person such as yourself never uses addons or items? I'm assuming that's how you're playing anyway because otherwise you're a total hypocrite and it's hard to imagine finding one of those here.

I don't think they always are. Didn't DS and OoO just get nerfed? Didn't toolboxes get nerfed? Insta-heals?

And didn't Blight and Wraith just get buffed?

I'm thinking you have a bit of perception bias going on here.

"Hook defense"? That's a thing? The dude is camping badly, that's it, no need to hold a discussion. Like Cluelesswanderer say, that's his right. Every gamer play like he wants to.

He ruining the game for Jake and Yu Jin. You can call that a strategy and I can get it that some survivors can be toxic and lake of respect in endgame with useless ans unecessary tbaging. Almost every game I play the killer camp and/or tunnel and I won't go tbag someone who play correctly. I even go talk to them to THANK THEM for not doing it. That's how screw up the situation is. You go and thanks someone who play for fun now.

It's jus a game. You win, you lose... Go to the next game. But no, some killers just want a 4 kills and are ready to do, litterally, anything to suceed. Even ruined the fun for every ont else in the process.

I don't really get how getting someone to take one extra hook state is "ruining the game" for them. It's not like they don't get a chance to play. They got to play before the hook and after, they just got one less hook state to play around with. I'm sorry if you're getting camped and tunneled, but if you say that happens almost every game, I'm guessing you've made the definitions of those tactics so broad that you can use them to explain any loss. You said, "It's just a game. You win, you lose." Why is it that you judge the killer for not taking the loss, but you seem completely unwilling to accept a loss, yourself?

Good on you for not teabagging, but that basically brings to the level of a killer who won't slug people until they bleed out for the fun of it. Not teabagging is different from intentionally throwing the game to give the survivors another chance.

  • @CluelessWanderer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2241883#Comment_2241883

A lot of it was obvious camping. Not all of it, but a great deal of it. The Nea tried to save the Jake. He chased Nea twice but not far and returned to the hook. He said it himself, that he expected and exchange on the hook. He expected to hook the saviour. It was part of his plan. I think most people understand this type of play against sweaty SWF's who are being ridiculous, or if gens are flying by and there's only one left. But at 4 generators,no one should be surprised if people call the Killer a camper.

Play however you want to play. I still think it's unreasonable to expect Solo survivors to instantly organize the moment someone is downed and do an unhook in a tiny 10 second window, or else it's camp city. But again-whatever floats your boat.

What do I do for a Killer? I don't play like a scumbag. I don't teabag, I don't click a flashlight, I don't body block, I don't act like a little moron. If I'm at the gate and it seems whatever survivors left are getting out? I leave immediately instead of hanging around, or being one of those jerks who wait for the Killer to blind him one last time. I've often sent messages to Killers even when I die and tell them thanks for the good game (if it was fun). I know all the above actions are irritating (having been on the receiving end). And most people who play also know that camping/tunnel annoys people because a quick Google will show tons of threads and posts all over the internet about it. I think we have at least 2 going on the forums any given day.

We just disagree. I'm fine with that.

Yeah, I think we just set the bar at a different place. Obviously someone who facecamps for the two full minutes is camping and someone who never gets near the hook again isn't camping, but there's that gray area in the middle. On the flip side, I don't consider body blocking to be toxic at all, it's a completely valid strat and I respect it. Last night I played a game where the survivors bodyblocked and managed to save someone I thought I could've hooked and I gave them a "nice play" in chat afterward because it was a good use of the tools they had available.

I guess I only see these things as a problem when the intent is to ruin the other players' experiences. I don't like when players get judged for playing the game in what I see to be an honest way, but playing in an honest way is just really subjective and I think everyone has a different standard for it.

For the record, the way the killer played in the video isn't really the way I play, just a way I'm willing to defend. I'm super impatient, so I probably would have chased the Nea immediately for the fun of it.

  • I think keys are just harder to balance than the moris were. Moris are offerings so they don't really have much competition for gameplay effectiveness, most of the other offerings aren't really helpful or don't affect gameplay. It's okay if they ends up being underpowered and just for fun. Since they don't have much competition, it's hard to nerf them to the point of being unusable.

Keys are an item which has to compete with toolboxes, medkits, flashlights, etc. A strong nerf to keys would likely result in people not running them at all. It's a more delicate procedure to nerf them while keeping then useable than it was with moris.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2241295#Comment_2241295

Ok I watched this again. He hangs Jake at about 5:12. Walks over to the nearest locker and grabs knives. He isn't really out of the vicinity until maybe 5:25 or so- but just to do a short loop around the building. By 5:48 he's already back at the hook (the base of the mound). Jake isn't anywhere near struggle yet. The idea that his teammates "ignored him", sorry I'm not buying it. It's normal that people are working on gens across the map. It can take 10-20 secs to RUN to another part of it. Since Trickster has a wide terror radius (I'm talking the treble of the music), most likely, survivors would walk so as not to leave scratchmarks, and to not run smack into him. This adds time on.

So again, at 5:48 he's back at the hook, and goes up it to stand right beside it. He commences to circle the hill tightly occasionally. Jake goes into second phase (struggle) around 6:17. That means he was right by the hook for 30 seconds BEFORE Jake hit struggle. Then he gets tired of waiting by the hook and jumps down, to see Nea running away.

I'm figuring, Nea had probably been there behind the wall looking for an opening for quite some time. Maybe even that full 30 seconds. But he never left the hook. Nea probably was never out of his terror radius. He chases the Nea, but leaves her to go RIGHT back to the hook. She probably jumped windows to make noise- anything to get him away. But no, he goes back up and stands directly beside Jake, knives raised.

Nea tries AGAIN to bait him away from the hook. Yun Jin is standing by. But once again, he refuses to leave the hook and we all saw the calamity that befell the survivors. He even tunnels Jake down. He hangs Yun Jin, goes get knives, hits only the generators closest to the hook (where he can immediately drop down when he gets the alert), goes back to the hook and stands there with his knives raised.

It's unrealistic to blame the team mates in this particular scenario, and doubtful they were ignoring Jake. If I were in that match, I might be tempted to just do generators and try to get out (optimal camping strategy for survivors). Yun Jin just killed herself probably because it was BS for her.

He posted sounding incredulous that the survivors labeled him a Camper. Alas, he was classic Camping lol (I mean, again, to each their own, but that's what it is).

I'm not sure why you're taking such offense to my posts. Everything can be observed in the video.

Okay, it takes 10-20 seconds to get to the person. They knew he went down at 5:00. So let's be generous and say it takes them 40 seconds to get there. They still would have gotten the unhook before Trickster got back. I don't accept you're "it's trickster so they have to walk" argument. Unhooking someone brings some inherent danger. If people want to slowly mosey their way over to the hook, that's on them.

I don't know why you think I take offense to your posts. I just don't like when people get hook defense and camping confused. Camping is the killer wasting their time sitting by the hook. Hook defense is when the survivors make decisions to make leaving the hook a bad idea.

You also never answered my question. You want the killer to run off when he has 3 survivors occupied, a bad decision that would make them less likely to win. You implied that they don't consider other players when they play this way. So what do you do? What do you do to help the killer out? What do you do to erase their mistakes? Give them second chances? That's what you're asking for here. You want the killer to intentionally misplay when the survivors play too passively.

You are the equivalent of the killers who complain that survivors holding down m1 is "gen-rushing".

  • @CluelessWanderer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2241235#Comment_2241235

Ok? By your own words, you planned to camp Jake until he hit struggle phase. And since you were sticking so close to the hook, of course another survivor would bait you into a chase to get you away from it long enough to save the hooked team mate. What choice did they have? You just stated you didn't want to let that happen. You expect to stay by the hook, and down any attempts at a rescue- you don't want to go off hunting and chasing, you expect an exchange; hooked survivor for saviour. Then you admit you camped the Yun Jin.

Ergo, they accused of camping (as you said). And yes, you did camp. So ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I mean, play how you like, but it would have been a pretty unfun match as a survivor imo. You said you camped Yun Jin "because the match was over so you wanted to end it quickly". Well, even if you would have won the match eventually anyways (probably, 4 gens were up), is it really so terrible that the 3 leftover survivors might have earned a few bloodpoints through normal gameplay so they didn't have to depip?

I know I'm in the minority of people who consider other players, I just can't help myself. It's a character flaw.

What choice did they have? Not much. When they decided to ignore their teammate on hook until they're near second stage, they eliminated most of their options. That doesn't seem like the killers fault to me.

You say you consider other players, what exactly are you doing to intentionally handicap yourself to help the killer?

  • Bubba.

When hooking a survivor on death hook, you get an additional animation of taking their face. Then, you get a small buff, depending on who's face you're wearing. Maybe something like Claudette's face would make healing noises louder for you, something based on what the survivor specializes in.

Obviously, this would be way out of scope because of the work it would require, but it would be pretty fun.

Quote: "Bubba mains clearly have deep seeded issues and must display there unbridled rage upon thine survivors at all times."

You realize actual Bubba mains rarely camp, don't you?

If you're good as him you will never really feel like you have to even stay near a hook. Only trash Bubbas who haven't mastered him camp.

Exactly. Wish camping Bubbas would stop giving others a bad name. When I play Bubba I'm either:

    1. In a chase
    2. Hooking someone
    3. Looking for the next chase

I just don't understand why someone would take a killer with such a great chasing power and just camp with him. It's just plain boring.

  • That's not a challenge. Challenges imply difficulty. That's trying to justify playing like a dick.

A real challenge would be trying to play like a good sport every game, regardless of what the opposition does.

Turn bubba around. He got that texan ass, i know cause im a texan too

Had a match a few days ago where the camera glitched out during the pre-match spinaround and left it directly at butt-level. Wish I'd gotten a clip.

  • The way I'm reading this, "sacrifice or survive" was just a different way to say "play killer or survivor". Hope I'm wrong though, more hook alternatives would be pretty fun.

  • Billy. I grinded Leatherface to get BBQ and hated every minute of it, then switched to Billy as soon as I had that perk. Was playing on console at the time.

Then I switched over to PC and just could not get the hang of using Billy using mouse and keyboard. Then the Billy nerf / Leatherface buff happened and now Leatherface is my favorite.

  • The fact that survivors can't attack the killer. Sure, they have some offensive actions, but there's nothing that they can do to kill or even do long-term damage to the killer. It feels like every game that has that mechanic eventually loses all of the horror aspect. Granted, dbd loses most of the horror aspect after a while, but I think not being able to damage the killer makes sure there's at least a speck of horror in the game.

It also keeps the killer base up because no matter how frustrating survivors can be, it doesn't come anywhere close to how frustrating it is to have them actually be able to kill you.

The only other game I can think of that does this is Identity V and that's really just a dbd clone anyway.

I like the concept, but "until they get a hook" is not a killer version of exhaustion. Hooks are the equivilant of generators, but exhausted is based on a timer that only goes down when not running, essentially, when they're not in chase.

The "drained" status effect should be a 45 second timer that ONLY goes down while in chase. Survivors are rewarded for avoiding chase, killers get rewarded for maintaining chases.

So, for the coup de grace example, you start the game with the drained status effect. After 45 seconds of cumulative chase time, it activates and your next lunge distance is 100% longer. After lunging, you are afflicted with the drained status effect

I like this idea a lot, it's also another way to discourage camping as a bonus.

  • It could have been a few things. I think there's an archive challenge where you have to point at a killer while in their terror radius.

I've also seen survivors do this to killers who don't break pallets that they really should as a kind of tip to the killer, so that could be it if you were trying to loop around safe pallets.

Or it could have just been BM.

I watched the 5th anniversary of the stream where they mentioned about the new "ban" system. From what I understand it is not like the immediate "autoban" but more likely it is a system where if a player recieves more report it is more like "Let's first look at that person cause he has X amount of report" thing.

What they mean by auto-ban is that normally their customer service was looking each report one by one. So imagine a file of reports with dates on it like for example "Match 245 at 27.05.2021 at 15:00 Player CheesyGuy reported for unsportsmanlike" then the explanation of the reporter came. After their new feature instead of customer service read every report one by one, the system that is named "auto-ban" will read and highlight them. So that means after that system there will be a screen like for example "CheesyGuy reported 450 times for X,Y,Z reasons" and when the customer services saw that they will take easier action. Because now instead of seen each report one by one now they can see total reports in one segmentation and can act more precisely. That is the feature they were talking about. No online game would leave a ban decision to an AI( Artifical Intelligence) because it is a precise topic and system can make mistakes even small chance of mistakes. What they do in here is by getting the help of the system they will read the reports much more faster and they will be manage to get who is reported more in a day, week or a month so that they can follow the most reported people at the game.

I hope it is clear guys.😀

If that's how it ends up working, BHVR REALLY needs to work on their wording. I think it's pretty reasonable to assume that an 'autoban' system would automatically ban people. All this backlash is a good thing overall, BHVR needs to know that automatically banning people is a bad idea. The fact that they're willing to call the system autoban, regardless of what it will actually do, shows that they were not aware of the backlash automatically banning people would cause. Now they hopefully are.

The Killer didn't want anyone else and wouldn't commit to me or David despite both of us taking hits. Just wanted Dwight.

I saw the clip, you didn't take a hit. You commit to a gen while your teammate was being chased and then Freddy hit you when he had an opportunity. You then sprinted into a locker to heal, taking a survivor out of the equation and leaving Freddy with one less person to chase. Of course he's going to go after the Dwight if no one makes an attempt to heal him and sprints away while he's being chased. Why would Freddy switch targets in that case? You also immediately abandoned the Dwight after unhooking him when you could have tried to find a place to heal.

Survivors just holding m1 on generators (which is what you seem to want to do) is much closer to 'winning the game by default' than what this killer is doing.

  • It sucks, but there's not really an easy fix. Every multiplayer game with hit detection that I know of relies on shooter advantage. It's just becomes a lot more obvious in a game like DBD where most attacks are melee.
