It’s not a game-breaking bug. The only killer to ever be kill switched is Nurse and that is because she was quite literally unplayable and would get stuck and couldn’t move.
Every killer has had some sort of bug with them but most of the time they are not unplayable. Wesker currently will suck a survivor back over the vault that they vaulted. On the survivor’s screen they’re clear across the vault but the killer‘s client registers a hit and it will suck the survivor back over the vault. Should Wesker be kill switched?
It seems as though you just want Spirit kill switched because you dislike facing her. This current bug doesn’t delete her entire counterplay. Frustrating? Yes. Unplayable for the killer and unbeatable for the survivor? No.
She ain’t getting kill switched.
They would get damaged either way in that Scenario, if it hasn't been fixed yet I'm assuming Wesker grabbing survivors vaulting is at least partly intentional
At one point he would just slap them and they would still take damage so the only thing that changes is the survivor has to revault which I will say is some distance lost

"Killer is impossible now" honestly idk how ppl can say this

Normally, I'd agree but I saw the Hooked on You skins leaked like 2 weeks ago and the Valentines skins.
Maybe the cosmetics leaker is a different person.
It wasn't the models that got leaked, it was their in game banners for the store that was leaked
Typically dataminers would reveal all of the renders of the cosmetics way ahead of time, like in the PTB months before they release.

Nah they did more then just (alledgedly) root out someone leaking stuff
They tightened up security on their patches to make datamining all the cosmetics harder. Notice how literally nobody knew Birkin was coming to the game until he released
I don't know if I 100% buy the conspiracy angle but I want to just because it's hilarious
-
I don't like it, but I find it funny
Half the time it's "i made 1 mistake? THATS IT"
I've had survivors do it when I'm losing too, basically turning the tide and giving me a win when I would've lost otherwise
-
The history of Any Means Necessary:
Perk reveal/PTB - Reset dropped pallets in 3 seconds, 120 second cooldown
Release - Reset dropped pallets in 4 seconds, 120 second cooldown
4.3.0 - Now gives BP for using it and the cooldown was reduced to 60 seconds
5.3.0 - Now shows you auras of dropped pallets when the perk wasn't on cooldown
6.6.0 - Will have no cooldown
I feel like for some reason BHVR really wants this perk to be good and used, like maybe there's a game designer who really likes this perk and always petitions for it to be buffed every update but is disappointed when it's pickrate doesn't really go up
-
I don't understand why BHVR take community feedback but then go way overboard.
Nobody asked for Eruption's regression to be changed, all we wanted was either a way to counterplay the perk or have the incapacitated part of it changed/removed
The regression part of Eruption was serviceable, but if that was all the perk did - it would have never found its way into being meta.
-
Maybe you could make it so if the last survivor in the trial has been in the dying state for a certain amount of time, their aura is revealed within X amount of time
Like sometimes I slug to secure a 4k not to drag the game out but because they are both right there but by the time I catch and hook the last person, the slug has crawled to narnia. Maybe the finisher mori will solve this issue though, idk.

Nobody is complaining about zenshin impact tho. It’s good for newer players and those who dont have pallet spawns memorized. It’s also nice to know whether a pallet is down. I dont rlly think it’s fair to nerf something that helps newer players just bc it’s overused. I dont think it would be fair to nerf killer aura perks either.
Killers don't need to know where Pallets and Windows are, they aren't Killer resources
The only thing Killers really need to know is Survivor locations, which there are plenty of perks and some powers that give them that
I'm not sure where I stand on the WoO discussion right now, but I don't think comparing it to Zanshin is fair because that information is way more valuable to Survivors then it is for Killers
-
I've actually been running a little experiment on this subject because my initial knee-jerk reaction was that this was an absurd complaint and that the perk is fine
Then I noticed in so many of my games (both roles) I would see Windows super often, I'm talking at least 1-2 people running it per game (excluding myself)
So what I've started doing is on a lot of my Killers, I've begun running Hex: The Third Seal and other blindness related things that can be applied easily and I'm trying to see if the survivors I go against struggle more in chase when my Third seal remains up
I haven't done a huge amount of matches with this yet but I have noticed survivors who I blinded and had the perk did seem more disoriented and made more mistakes.

I could swear you can stack OTR and DH, and the endurance of OTR won't prevent DH.
If you are deep wounded, DH won't work. Legion, Deathslinger and (Sometimes) Knight can completely circumvent DH before the survivor even has a chance to use it
The only way you can use DH and OTR together is with a perk that heals a health state somehow. Like Renewal/Second wind or Adrenaline. Alternatively, if the killer downs you, gets DS'd then you can use your DH when you're freed because you go from the dying state to injured with no deep wound.
I was playing Knight and because a survivor got injured by Assassin, he rendered their DH completely useless and idk why I just find that so amusing.
-
Save the best for last and deadlock
not because of the perk effects themselves but because of the camping playstyle they heavily reward when paired together. Not too overbearing but hard to punish a stbfl camping killer if they have deadlock

Really? I saw plenty of shrugging and being willing to eat the DS if it wasn't that urgent.
Yeah, you can't use DH now if BT comes into it. Not having to deal with DH is probably just one of those minor things that makes tunnelling a better strategy.
Yeah some people didn't really care but it was def something that was ingrained in a lot of people (Hell it was ingrained in me for a while)
Plus this was also during the time where Decisive didnt deactivate if you did conspicious actions. So if you found the survivor who got unhooked again and they were on a gen, they could still have it and you'd be punished. It was horrendous.
-
@RainehDaze said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3335391#Comment_3335391
Of course, before you could just eat the potential DS anyway, and DH wasn't a third health state. And some people didn't have DS. Plus people not running BT for god knows what reason.
You could but most didn't, it was a ingrained mentality and 'fear' of decisive that led to people slugging survivors they were trying to tunnel.
As for DH, it wasn't a third health state but it had less counterplay for the majority of the roster and you can't use the new DH if you are deep wounded, so if you're hardcore trying to tunnel someone who just got unhooked you slap them and now their perk is useless.
Not really.
DH was no more/no less an anti-tunnel tool than it's new incarnation is.
DS - 3 seconds and 5 seconds aren't that different if you use it carefully. Again, I thought this perk was butt now, but it's actually fairly decent. You just need to go down somewhere that will allow you to get to safety in 3 seconds.
I'd argue old DH had more anti-tunnel potential considering it worked while deep wounded. The fact new DH is useless while deep wounded is something a lot of people forget
And yeah on paper the DS stun numbers aren't that different but people were heavily conditioned by it, again using Otz as an example he often mentions how the strongest perks condition people to change how they play even if they aren't there. (Speaking from my experience here): Killers never hesitate when picking up a survivor anymore unless they are under a pallet or know a FL survivor is close by. Those are the only time I ever see killers wait before picking up
Watch Ayrun's solo survivor streak.
It was batty how strong OTR, DH and DS can be when you layer them.
Oh I know how strong they are put together, a survivor with those 3 perks is incredibly hard to tunnel but
A survivor who isn't running that specific build can be easy pickings when it comes to tunnelling. In the same vein that killers who don't run gen perks will lose gens very quickly if that makes sense
Want to know why killers generally tunnel?
They got stomped and told to uninstall by a group like this at some point, and are trying to never repeat the process.
Tbh, that isn't why Killers tunnel. I don't think Tunnelling is a taboo, its a tactic that works and wins games
That's why I do it in my games, I know if i make the match a 3 v 1 my chances of winning increase exponentially (no pun intended)

Whataboutism.
A. The survivor meta is more varied than I think it ever has been. Killer...not so much.
B. We aren't talking about survivor builds here.
C. The issue isn't people running stuff like BK or DH. It's the HSFP 4man SWFs that can blow through 5 gens in less than 5 minutes and know where you are at all times.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3335237#Comment_3335237
...
How did they make tunneling 'really easy' as opposed to before?
Tunneling is only really an issue against solos, and now you at least have baseline BT, which you can chain into multiple second chance perks.
Tunneling is weaker now, on average, than it was before 6.1.0.
The difference is that killers have fewer options now - gens move faster, Eruption is going to go bye-bye, regression got nerfed hard, Garden of Joy is an abomination.
DH had no influence on tunneling.
DS...eh. It's fine at 3 seconds. I thought that it wouldn't be, but I was actually straight wrong on this.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3335233#Comment_3335233
Huh?
I don't...think so.
- Generator-Speedup wasn't that much of an option pre 6.1.0. You had PTS, toolboxes and crap.
- Now you've got HSFP which is pretty decent solo and evil in SWFs.
- Generator slowdown was gutted in 6.1.0, with the only exceptions being Eruption, Thana, PR and PR+DMS. Thana was nerfed to complete uselessness - worse than it was before the buff. Eruption is going to be Thana'd. PR+DMS will be next, watch this space - the second Eruption goes bye-bye, the QQ train will pull into PR+DMS until that gets nerfed too.
- So now, gens are potentially faster than pre 6.1.0, and killers have weaker regression to deal with this. Now, with Eruption going - what do you expect them to do?
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3335304#Comment_3335304
You'll note that @Firellius claimed this multiple times in the thread, but dodges every time someone asks him who 'killers' are. Because this is objectively not what 'killers' as a whole, wanted.
They wanted more viable choices and perks. Not less.
They wanted slower gens, not faster gens.
But, BHVR nerfed Thana, Ruin, Overcharge, PR, DMS and soon Eruption. Which means we'll soon be at a point where the killer perk meta will have less variety than it did before the meta shakeup.
To further explain my opinion:
I think the DS and DH nerfs made tunnelling a lot easier because before DS got nerfed, if the killer wanted to tunnel somebody they had to take a big gamble; either eat a long DS stun and then have a long chase afterwards or slug them and leave them on the floor.
Now typically if you're going after someone who was just unhooked, if you hear grunts of pain then you just wait a bit and you're basically guaranteed an instant second stage, unless they have either DH and can time it well or they have DS which I will say is still a decent perk since it can allow you to keep a chase going.
But if a survivor has none of the above, they are extremely easy to get rid of if you play it right. I often find myself wishing my team would just leave me on 2nd stage for as long as possible if a Killer is hardcore trying to tunnel me out. Drag it out for as long as possible yk?
It is kind of a circular argument though, like what you said about survivors chaining multiple second chance perks is true as mentioned earlier but survivors say "well i run these perks because I get tunnelled by a killer with 4 slowdowns" and... Yeah you see the problem.
I will say that tunnelling has def increased due to the regression perks and the other as otz put it "nice-guy" perks being changed, that I don't disagree on. I just think that they also made it easier which leads to more people doing it as well.
-
You have (arguably) 1 gen slowdown perk
2 aura perks
and a stealth meme perk
On a scale of no perks to 4 slowdown call of overeruption, your build sits firmly at "not sweaty at all"
-
I mean
They made tunnelling really easy, like I know basekit BT, OTR etc. DS still helps, a bit.
But if you know OTR isn't there (There is a VERY OBVIOUS tell if a survivor has it), why wouldn't you go after the survivor who goes down in 1 hit instead of the one who takes 2 hits and can use the first hit to prolong the chase etc
Killers aren't scared of tunnelling anymore because it's way easier to deal with the consequences you might face for attempting it. Before you had to deal with the DS 5s stun on top of stuff like old DH. DH is still good, obviously but I think old DH was just unmatched.
-
The Jailer's voicelines give me such joy when I'm playing Knight
-
The main counterplay to any Oni who wants to use their power is delay the first hit as much as possible, which is very hard for uncoordinated teams to do since chances are by the time someone who's been caught off guard realises its an Oni it's too late
Once you're injured just ignore healing, the build doesn't want you to heal so don't bother. Sit on gens and hope your teammates can run him for just long enough. They don't need to be masters of looping, just decent at time wasting.
Most strong mobility killers could use this build pretty well on RPD but that's the thing, RPD is what enables this because it's game area is so compact. It's a decently sized map when you factor in verticality but TR does not factor that in

Why complain? That's an interesting question. At what point is complaining valid? Is it now when previously available items are being removed from the store? Is it in a year's time when Loot Boxes arrive and you have a 5% chance of snagging that sweet Jeff skin you want (oh no! buy another box and try again). BHVR will say, What do you mean you don't like loot boxes? No-one said anything when we went FOMO.
I bet BHVR would've done DBD NFTs if the popular opinion was that NFTs were cool and good

Who cares. So what the cosmetics aren't available all year round. Either buy it now or dont that's all on you. I like not seeing hundreds of cosmetics in the shop whenever I browse. It's less overwhelming. Also having cosmetics only available for set times but coming back each year gives them more flex to your teammates.
Given that these cosmetics do nothing for gameplay mechanics and are purely cosmetic it shouldn't matter if bhvr decides to make them limited time. It's smart business move and after all this is a business that needs to make money.
To anyone complaining I beg you to stop and instead focus your complaints on the unbalanced maps, game breaking bugs, cheaters and other actual issues that effects the game not cosmetics which for the most part are just reskins
If nobody ever criticises a business participating in scummy practices then they will never learn where the boundries are/what people are willing to put up with. The consumers of video games have conceded so much ground to greedy businesses and publishers. Some of us would rather our favourite games don't go down this route.
You say "oh stop caring about this, go complain about what i think is important" despite the fact you can do both. There's no mutual exclusivity with complaints.
Also BHVR doesn't need to do this for money. They want to. The reason of "we want them to be more special" is a blatant lie.
They aren't a small indie studio anymore. Dead by Daylight is a giant franchise that has merchandise, partnerships with some of the biggest franchises in the world, alternate versions on mobile/china and even spin-offs.

BHVR won't acknowledge or defend the practice because they know it's blatantly anti-consumer and they'd only only respond with a generic corporate non-answer.
People would then just laugh at them and criticise them even more. Remember when someone from EA tried to defend their scummy practices in Battlefront that one time? That dude got the internet equivalent of being burned at the stake.
It sucks because even if let's say the community managers who usually are pretty good at communicating with us responded, they will either have to defend a practice I Imagine they don't agree with and get backlash from it or they genuinely agree with these practices. Makes sense why they're keeping quiet

Comp matches, high level MMR do you want a point to point why?
Comp isn't representative of the average match, we're talking people who spend hours and hours practicing in private games and are always on voice communication 24/7.
"High level MMR" doesn't really exist, it's not only been proven that they widened the MMR brackets and the pool of players will gradually expand if there isn't any players close to your MMR rank. I believe Hens and Choy made videos talking about this subject, might be worth checking out if you are interested in more information.

I think they could get away with the sweaters because they are techincally BHVR originals, like those sweaters don't exist in the games
Whereas Birkin, The Jill and Ada skins are all taken from the source material and I really don't think Capcom would allow BHVR to straight up disallow them from being sold like that. The Birkin model in particular looks like it's ripped straight from RE2

My top 5 best designed killers. My criteria is how balanced I think their kit is for both sides
1) The Oni
2) The Cenobite
3) The Huntress
4) The Dredge
5) The Plague
I typically always enjoy my time vs these killers, their powers are both highly rewarding while also having counters to them allowing an equal chance of winning for both sides.
Wesker is also a pretty close contender. The only issue I have with Wesker's design is just how easily he can tunnel people that are infected. A small blight on an otherwise very well designed character though

If someone in EGC tries to insult me for my playstyle by simply going "tunneller, camper" etc, I just reply "Yes, and?"
If you want a discussion with somebody and want to know why they made the play they did, ask them instead of going straight to antagonising. That's how I see it, at least. If some dude's like "hey why did you camp my friend to 2nd" my reply would be something like "I thought it was the best play at the time, i needed to shortcut my hooks" and so on.

Oh...
But wait. Where's Technician, Bite the Bullet, Visionary, Deja Vu?
Those perks are great for helping new players find gens, stop 3-gen situations, and negate failed skill checks! But they're nowhere near the top 3 perks used, unlike Windows of Opportunity.
Technician is a garbage crutch perk that harms newer players more than it helps them
Bite the Bullet is usually only good for gimmicks and newer players likely aren't aware of those gimmicks to begin with. RE is also a licensed chapter that you need to pay money for. (One of the most expensive ones too)
Visionary is a horrible perk that is overshadowed by several other perks.
Deja-Vu is a good perk, sure it's pick rate isn't amazing but there could be tons of reasons for that. Perks that revolve around gens are pretty unpopular except Prove bc Prove actually has a big impact on games.
You picked 3 generator information perks and 1 stealth/healing perk and compared it to what is basically a chase oriented/information perk. That's not fair imo.
That's like comparing BBQ to Bitter Murmur or Whispers or something like that.

Many people are saying that only newbs and SoloQs are running WoO when that's just not true. I frequently see SWF members running it too.
My problem with WoO is that survivors can pretty much turn their brain off and run to the next yellow aura. If the perk wasn't always on at least they'd have to try to do some memorization and planning then it would be much more healthy.
It's only "turning your brain off" if you play the most safest boring way possible aka predropping every pallet
But they would do that anyway regardless if they have windows or not, just because you know where to go next - it doesn't automatically mean you'll be able to play it 100% perfectly. A lot of survivors have tile layouts/pallet spawns memorised and it takes just as much brain power as using the perk if you ask me.

Wait, they're actually considering changing the godforsaken Artist map? Is there a source for that?
Latest BHVR survey had multiple questions about Eyrie of Crows.
And in the Solo Q buff screenshot they posted on Twitter, many people noticed that the Eyrie main building breakable wall was in a different place to it's usual spot, indicating that maybe they are messing with the layout behind the scenes
Like I said it's good to see, but Eyrie is 1 awful map of many and given how long it takes them to "fix" maps (RPD wasn't fixed), I'm not super optimistic.
