I haven't enjoyed playing killer at all in this 2v8 so i found this survey really bad. No questions for killers why they might find parts of the mode bad, just for survivors.
I personally after adding the possibility to play as a survivor while queueing as a killer havent been bothered about the killer queues, but whats bothering me is the unbalance in this mode. I don't have fun anymore. Not as a survivor or a killer. As a survivor i escape most of my matches and as a killer i feel horrible playing against fast gens and button pressed sprint burst.
This right here. I don't like playing killer anymore, either, because the gens go too fast without any killer perks to slow them down.
They need to probably slow gen speeds more aggressively when the killers have few hooks.
-
Already stopped reading when you called the developers stupid. Grow up or go outside and learn how to speak to people.
-
While I honestly can't think of many situations where auto recovery is harmful strategically, I do agree with you that BHVR has made many decisions that dumb the game down, and it's something we should definitely avoid if we can.
I'd even consider the struggle on hook change—where you hit skillchecks instead of button mashing—as dumbing down the game, as it reduces the variety of mechanics. I personally hate button mashing, so I don't mind it, but it's something to think about.
-
Thank you for the respectful disagreement, however I do not think auto recovery prevents throwing of any kind. If a survivor wants to throw by not being picked up, all they need to do is hold the sprint button.
One strategic downside to auto recovery people may not realize is that it removes the ability to communicate to a teammate that you don't want to be picked up. When there are only two survivors remaining, not recovering signals to your teammate that the killer is baiting a pick-up and you'd like them to go for hatch instead.
-
@mooasis said:
the only time you would ever not want to recover automatically is because you didnt like a down and youre throwing on purpose which is horrible for the rest of your team. if you have a self pickup perk you still get to choose exactly when to activate it. no real agency is being taken away by this mechanic being introduced, its purely QoL
To clarify, I just don't like the way it feels. I have no intention of throwing or anything of the sort.
I asked for a toggle so that people who like it can keep it!

Corrupt, Floods of Rage, Pain Resonance, Deadlock.
Pretty boring build but it works well!

I have a great solution, too! When you, as a consumer, are displeased with something you go to the dedicated means of communication and express how displeased with it you are, to let the people working on the product you're displeased with know you're displeased.
Oh my god just like this thread is doing
What a crazy concept! How ever did you come up with it? :D
-
Well his power is useless at most loops, and the hitbox for it is very small, so not surprised they're camping and tunneling. Being an M1 killer against good survivors is Hell without those tactics.
-
I'm surprised no one has commented yet that OP is looking too far down. Maybe a lot of people can't tell where the middle of their screen is, but that is not the middle. You can also tell this is the case by looking at Yui's head.
Edit: Nvm someone did mention this. How do you delete comments on here lol
-
With everything currently in the game, if people still don't think the game is survivor-sided, they never will lol

Yes, a nerf to his facecamping ability. I didn't mention anything else about him.

You can't just go around nerfing things into unplayability to counter one facet of the kit. That just drives people off.
Need some more balance than that.
So, start with trying to give more reasons to amble off.
Removing Bubba's facecamping gameplay makes him unplayable? What?

Not to open a can of worms, but you clearly aren't if you're never finding yourself in such a situation. Everyone knows that high level DBD is survivor-sided.
And who said I cared if I won or not? I don't care if I 4k or if I get 0 kills, I'm just high MMR because I can play the game well and end up with more than 1 person dead before the gates are open 9 games out of 10. This isn't a question of being survivor sided, because absolutely nobody is saying it isn't in this thread, this is a question of where I play in the invisible MMR that I can only assume is high because of the survivors that I face (which I know and recognise, for the record).
I don't need to facecamp. I don't need to tunnel. I don't want to do either, and I don't care about the result of the match. It's a video game, I do what's fun for me by playing the game my way.
Anyway nice try
You're creating an argument with yourself. We're talking about Bubba's ability to facecamp, not whether or not a player chooses to do so.

"The unhooker can still go free."
How does downing both survivors let them go free?
PHead can only M1 twice or do a sword attack once at a hook--he can't recover from an M1 fast enough to put his sword in the ground and then attack. Thus, he either downs the unhooker, or gets one collateral hit that injures the unhooker and downs the unhooked survivor (if they don't have endurance).

LMFAO I'm high MMR without needing to facecamp try again
Not to open a can of worms, but you clearly aren't if you're never finding yourself in such a situation. Everyone knows that high level DBD is survivor-sided.
Anyway, two people and a BT is plenty to make an easy save at a hook, against pretty much all killers except Bubba.
-
@RainehDaze said:
Then give the Bubbas more of a reason to leave, don't try to nerf the Bubba so they can't even do that.
That doesn't change that he is still getting guaranteed kills, and having a design that encourages un-interactive gameplay.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2713642#Comment_2713642
Except they can. Using half a braincell you can hit one survivor in case of a grab fail, then let the others save as you instead chase that survivor who won't be expecting you to do so, and then you rinse and repeat. Only way Bubba shines is if all 3 mates appear and in that case you deserve it for not managing a single kill earlier.
Also, Pyramid Head.
I'm guessing you don't play at high MMR if you think that's a viable strat. That won't work against a single BT. It won't work if you're too close to a gate, either.

Bubba, Huntresses with hatchet ready, Billy, Tricksters, PP heads with locked punishment of damned aiming at the hook.
This is why camping is going to get nerfed. Hopefully.
None of those prevent a trade, and with PHead if he does that, the unhooker can still go free.
I think Myers with 99 stalk is the only killer that comes close to preventing a trade.
-
@ThanksForDaily said:
In a recent stream, devs said they have a solution idea for facecamping killers.
Hope it goes live soon.
I don't mind it when there's counterplay, but there just isn't with Bubba unfortunately.

@StarLost said:

Not unless you buff him substantially in other areas.
The issue here isn't Bubba. It's how effective facecamping can be on killers with instadown capability.
Bubba can consistently get more than a trade, which is something no other killer can do except for Myers with 99 stalk, and even then it will run out and there will be a chance to save.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
Any killer can put in no effort at all and guarantee a kill by facecamping. Bubba may be best at it however this skill scale is a very thin line because all you have to do is stand there and grab, or if you get validated then accept the trade.
Other killers can't handle two survivors going for the save though, for the most part. Bubba can, and Bubba can even rev through Borrowed Time.

@burt0r said:
From your video i guess he blocked the interactive space from you.
As killer you have to slightly be on top of the hatch (like with one foot) and he stood in a way that you couldn't interact with it.
You can see that the prompt for the interaction is only flickering on and off when your camera is looking at an angle at the hatch.
The survivor definitely blocked my ability to interact, but didn't prevent the prompt from popping up. Honestly, I think this is similar to when you try to throw a pallet as survivor but the killer blocks you at the last second--you make a slight movement to interact but then get canceled.

I have lost a few times as killer and get it as survivor whenever I try.
I started standing on the handle and never lost it to a survivor since. Not sure if that actually has anything to do with it.
Standing on the handle as killer is definitely the best way to do it. This survivor beat me to the handle, so maybe standing on a section of the hatch that allows me to interact (but isn't exactly where the survivor jumps in) is the way to go.
-
@Laurie268 said:
The jake could’ve played it better by bodyblocking you so you would’ve had to hit him. Whenever me and the killer are at the hatch at the same time, the killer always has priority over me. It’s possible that he clicked faster than you pressed spacebar or maybe ping difference.
I didn't think of that but you're right, he would've had it guaranteed had he waited.
And yeah, I'm thinking ping. I was 𝘮𝘢𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 that thing lol
-
@danielmaster87 said:
It's random I guess. Killers are supposed to have complete priority in closing the hatch, but sometimes the survivor gets it. I just don't get it.
Yeah I can't say that I've ever lost in this scenario, so I was definitely surprised

It doesn’t stop them, it prevents them being used on one gen after a significant time investment. Most matches you will get next to no use out of it.
Preventing 𝘪𝘴 stopping lol. One gen is all you need when the killer can only pressure one gen at a time.
I do agree the current 60 secs is a bit much, although you don't need to use the perk multiple times a game to get good value from it.

I just meant that's how I had always played. I apologise if I implied that would directly effect MMR. Gate escapes do effect MMR. You can close the hatch and then let them leave that way. Or if you down the last while second last is on hook, bring them to hook for save. Again, I've already won at that stage. I don't really care what way the round wraps up. It doesn't matter to me. It does, however, matter to the survivors I show kindness to...
(Note: Does not include Bills. They will say "ggez get rekt" after you close the hatch and carry them to the exit to leave. Terms and conditions do not apply)
Good points, even the last one! :D

@SleepyWillo said:
Sweaty players have always been a thing. Just use their altruism against them. Most SWFs don't play optimally.
Alternatively you could play in a way to not increase your MMR. I typically, and have before SBMM, released the last survivor. I down them and carry them to the hatch/door. I've already won and always try to be nice. The escape points are worth more to them than the unhook points for me. MMR just makes that more rewarding for me now too
Hatch doesn't affect MMR.
-
Bunch of weak killer players in here. Having a survivor out of the game is already easier for me, so I leave that player alone to kill later.
I'll probably hook them if they're gone long enough to get a bunch of crows, though.

He isn’t for everyone, that’s for damn sure.
But, if he’s just right for you, that’s okay too. I feel the same way.
What I don’t understand, is why people have to bash others for having an opinion on whether one likes or dislikes Trickster.
People don't know how to disagree without attacking each other nowadays.
-
People who think Noed is overpowered are either overly altruistic or too scared to find the totem. The perk is only good against bad players honestly.
-
Prove Thyself isn't that great with only two people, so maybe it'd be better to swap out Prove Thyself for an exhaustion perk?
But yea, just a suggestion from your average Dead Hard addict :)
-
Everyone else has mentioned some mistakes made here and there, but I have to say that I agree that there are games where you can't win, even when playing perfectly.
It seems like a get a lot more of these games now than I used to, and I'm not exactly sure why that is. It could be because I never played against PC players before cross-platform, or because survivors have gotten better, or something else.
Anyway, hopefully the devs realize that there are unwinnable games out there for killer, and work to resolve those situations.

I get it. when you don't like a game, sometimes its hard to move one. I rarely play an online game more than 500 hours, and usually somewhere around 400 I start to get unhappy and realize it isn't fun for me anymore. it takes all different amount of time to realize, it is ok to move on and find a game you enjoy more, while still wishing the game you were playing was better.
I'm very sad at some of the games I no longer play, but many of them turned into bad games, where I had good memories. Moving on can be hard, but it can be health.
It feels like the OP is at a point, where how this game is played now is not what they want, and perhaps for their personal happiness, they find something better, while hoping this game improves so they can one day return.
I really like your comment, and I find it to be very accurate. I haven't reached this point in DBD, but this definitely happened to me with Rocket League (matchmaking issues, microtransactions, toxic community, etc.)

@lowiq said:
Because despite how much players try to convince you that the game is survivor or killer sided, it's really not that imbalanced. Losses in 99% of games could have been prevented with better play.
The game is only balanced when potato survivors exist. Otherwise, gens fly incredibly fast.

I'm sorry that lost your interest. Honestly, until people in this thread pointed it out, I never saw the tutorial before, that is an issue in itself, but I understand your point.
For sure, and I hope I didn't come across as snobby! Admittedly I don't remember what the UI looks like in order to get to the tutorial, so I can understand if it needs improvement.
In regard to all of your other concerns, I hope the devs take note for new players and veterans alike :)

I'm sure your post deserves a full read, but for me you lost credibility and my interest as soon as you said there's no tutorial.
There's literally a tutorial and in-game guide telling you about many aspects of the game.

Unbreakable is despised because split pressure = mandatory slugging, so there's barely any counterplay & it makes a huge difference.
DS awards a minute of immortality for getting outplayed, and allows the survivor to force you to contend with the DS by making aggressive plays. The less you tunnel, the more minutes of invincibility. The more pressure you apply, the less they need to fear you. All in an ideological dressing of 'it's an anti tunnel perk, just don't tunnel!".
Additionally, killers have no perks that award downs or injuries. So it feels cheap when survivors get perks that dodge a hook state & reverse a down without any conditions other than "you got outplayed by the killer". It's similar to how NOED feels cheap.
Killers do have perks that rewards injuries and downs: Knockout, Infectious, Sloppy, Thantaphobia, etc.

I love how your only input is bashing people that play survivors. I play both and I think NOED is okay to use when you are a first time learning killer but there is many other good perks as well. I also only dislike it when you are playing 10 games and 8 of them bring NOED and you are with players who have no clue because they are new and have no idea to cleanse totems because if not it can screw you.
I also learned you play most games solo but I am gonna guess you also play with friends sometime so you also have the advantage at times to talk. When you play strictly Solo que with no means of communication and you have players that pop gens so much they undone all your work. It just makes the game that much harder when you need to make sure to also cleanse EVERY totem because your team does not think about it because they are new.
I will apologize on behalf of whoever or whatever comment offended you. I would just say please instead of bashing people you could maybe add some actual input. Even if they are survivor mains they still are adding stuff to the conversation.
I understand the frustration of noed, but it's a complete non-issue because the time it takes to find the totem at the end of the game is offset by how quickly the game goes by in the first place.
With old Ruin staying up for a good portion of the game, I can see how noed was cheap.
And the reason I didn't add thoughtful input is because I already know how conversations go with these types of people, and I feel I have the right to make such a comment given that I have over 1500 hours in this game, with 80% of them being survivor.
-
This thread reeks of survivor main

There's no real way to do that and not create a massive snowball for either side that would be even more boring.
What do you mean? And of course it can be done. If the devs add another meaningful objective, slugging wouldn't be mandatory anymore like it is now
