Yeah, I feel like matchmaking has alot to answer for. I don't know why I get matched with alot of the people I do. Like I'll be the only one on a gen while another person is hooked, so naturally I'll assume one of the other two are going for the unhook but no... the hooked person goes to second stage. So I have to leave my gen to unhook them (provided the killer hasnt come my way, in which case I'm now in chase), which now leaves no one on a gen. No game sense among some people.

Yep, I've seen this as recently as tonight. I was across the map working on a gen while a teammate was hooked, none of the others were in chase so I assumed one of them was going to go for the unhook. But no, one teammate was hiding in a locker while the other was doing a totem. I get off my gen and book it across the map just as the hooked teammate goes onto second, only for the killer to come back to check on the hook (or they were proxy camping) either way none of us made it out.

  • I would love for a concede option for when more than one person is on the ground and the killer is just slugging because they can.

  • No not bannable, but I would consider it good manners to ignore them for a short time at least, especially if its at the start of the match because they could be having load-in or ping issues causing them to be AFK. If you come back to them and they have more than one AFK crow, then I'd say it's fair to down them or even hook them since it's more than likely they might not be coming back.

The above is what I normally do, as I've had killers do this for me when I've loaded in late due to crappy internet so I try to pay that forward to other survivors when I play killer.

Nice shots, the Trickster one is perfect.

I used to love running Rancor but lots of people hate going against it and it can feel like you’re ripping away someone’s earned escape.

Argument against that however, there are hints that Rancor is in play (aura of Killer after every gen when you’re the obsession), but not everyone is aware of it. Nemesis (perk) synergizes well with it at end game as well to get multiple mories if you’re lucky.

I think the perk would be seen in a better light if more people were aware of the signs of it. When I’m survivor and know it’s in play, I tend to hide at end game until it’s safe enough to run for an open gate. Usually Killers will be distracted trying to find you so you can use that to your advantage.

I feel that about Rancor, I played very safe once I realised it was in use during the game. I did my gens, hid well, unhooked and healed my teammates when required, in the end game we all got surprised by Plague when she popped up at the gate we were trying to open (the gates had spawned on the same side and at an easy patrol distance) Me not being injured as I hadn't been hooked and recently healed after taking Plague on a long tour of loops and pallets, decided to take a protection hit for a teammate who was on death hook. Guess who got downed and then drowned in vomit?

Yeah, to say I was a little bit salty is an understatement, but I didn't take it out on my teammate or the Plague as they still went ahead and got a 3-man out, I was just disappointed that I played well all game and still ended up being punished for it.

  • People are upset that they can't span the tail attack anymore, they don't care that Xeno was oppressive to the point of being unfun for survivors, only the killer is allowed to have fun. And I say this as a killer main.

  • It's probably a similar logic to people who tunnel out streamers/YT/TTVs or certain survivors like Meg, Dwight, Claudette or Leon (god forbid you be a combination of the two) because they view it as some kind of "imaginary" challenge or display of "skill". "Look how awesome I am, I defeated the P28 Meg or the P100 Felix TTV/streamer by tunnelling them out of the game! I am so awesome!" Would be my guess anyway.

This is what it feels like to me as well. I've noticed the matchmaking will usually pair me with at least 1 or 2 low prestige survivors and 1 survivor like me with a high or mid tier prestige.

Most likely this is by design to keep the kill rates where BHVR wants them to be because they know 4 good solo players can perform just as well as a good SWF with no comms needed.

I've noticed this too, I was playing DuoQ with a friend and we were getting baby survivors for a while. Then we got a second duo for two matches in a row, one was on par with my friend's looping skills, while the other was clearly newer to DbD but trying their best. Both of those games we had a draw with the killer (2K & 2-Man out) genuinely the most fun I've had with DbD in a while. Defs helped the killers not try-harding and a Blight we were against was a bit of a meme lord.

    I mostly agree.

When i get decent teammates (close to my skills) , game is really feeling so easy. Nobody is dc'ing, nobody is killing themself on hook. Nobody is wasting time with useless things like chests, dull totems etc.

If they are not in chase, they are doing gens. If someone on hook, they are checking HUDs. And survivor who has not job to do is going to save. So even there time is not wasted.

Games like these makes me feel better and usually ending with 4 or 3 man escape.

But then matchmaking issues happens. There is no guarantee you will get decent teammates again. Or even if you get good teammates, there is always chance one of them will give up cuz map, killer or whatever reason.

Solo-q needs better matchmaking, i am sure a lot issues will be fixed.

And some coordination buffs will be fine too. HUD icons was good step. Add one more, if killer is camping let other survivors know this. You can't have this information unless you bring perk for it.

And another QoL change i want, let survivors see what perks/items they are gonna bring in lobby. This will help some builds. Like they will see i am using healing build. So they will know where to come.

I would love to add a ping system, like nothing insane like CoD or anything, but small simple ones like pinging where the killer has a Hex (if it's super well hidden) or, as you stated "I'm being camped, do gens" or "Get the gates open" etc, just small things to help survivors coordinate.

My experience normally has nothing to do with the killer at all. It's my teammates doing nothing. Well, I shouldn't say nothing because I don't do the tomes. So they may be doing those. Half the time on the survivor HUD I see one person doing something and the other 2 images are empty. No gens, no totems, no healing, just blank lol. It's oke when I see them blank for a moment but sometimes it's the entire match.

There are games when the killer is making it not fun for me also. Most of the time though, it's my teammates that make me want to let go or dc and stop playing.

The worst teammates I've found are the ones who start playing for Hatch the moment the first person is hooked, a fast down can be a bit disheartening but it doesn't mean the match is entirely decided then and there (despite what high MMR players and their followers will tell you). You can do everything right as a survivor and still end up not escaping because the killer makes big brain plays in the end game and vice versa, with survivors getting creamed until they get some big brain plays.

  • No obvious ones, but I have had a few suspicious players for sure.

  • @Shroompy said:

The only problems I have with this power is the fact that even if you make a mistake you're barely punished for it, as well as the hitbox being absolutely stupid. The amount of times I've been hit and hit people behind corners is insane.

I played against a Xeno the other day where I was clearly around a tall object after she missed her attack on me through a vault. but the game decided that the tail did hit, but through a wall on the other side of the jungle gym. Like, I was so far away that there was no way I had been hit, but apparently, some weird hit validation decided that Xeno's tail had turned into one of Huntress's mini-fridges. I don't know if I was lagging or if the killer was, but it was a really BS hit.

On the flip side of that, I've been missed at point-blank range. So I definitely think there is some weird hit validation that might be connected to latency with the game, which seems to be a problem with Wesker too. :-/

  • @lukesebb said:

    I swear, it's either:

    Vault Pallet: Tail Attacked.

Juke Pallet: M1ed due to no slowdown after a missed tail, or just Xeno anticipating a juke.

    THERE IS NO COUNTERPLAY

Pretty much this, add in the fact there's no "wind up" audio for her power, it's only a whip noise when the attack is let loose and all that tells you is that the Xeno missed her attack.

There's also a really weird hitbox with the tail too, like I have been "missed" at point-blank range, but have been it through walls and around objects. It's kind of like Wesker or Huntress's wonky hit animations where in one moment they're just whiffing then the next they're suddenly throwing mini-fridges at you.

Oh that annoying thing to do as well. Killer should see last slugged aura when he kills 3rd survivor so that should get fixed too. Slugging is fine when you know where the last survivor is and see them. But what I don't think is fine killer just greedily wanting 4K and keeping 3rd survivor slugged for 4 minutes while trying to find the last one desberately.

I mean, it's the killer's fault for not hooking me first. Like if you're going to slug for the 4K, then pick up and hook me first instead of wasting time going back to my teammate who was downed first.

The reason you see mostly groans and complaints besides the myriad of inherent FNAF based story telling issues is because for like two years straight we had a ton of FNAF fans who would hype themselves up during every chapter release that Spingtrap was coming and were literally blowing up the forums only to be massively disappointed when it wasn't the fabled FNAF chapter and turn nasty. It didn't help that dbd leak twitter kept gassing them up much in the same way they gassed up Predator fans only for them to get their hearts broken, but rather than learn from that experience they just kept getting suckered and flipping out.

A lot of them ended up getting banned for spamming the forums too hard and the ones who didn't had lost any good will neutral or FNAF haters in the community did have towards them. They have a overall reputation of being annoying to a degree we don't want to deal with them at all.

At the end of the day DBD often draws in the more maladjusted terminally online members of other horror fandoms and clashes happen. In this case though the clash came from them not getting what they want and turning desperate and feral with any level of disagreement. Every chapter release became some sort of personal slight to the FNAF fanbase in their eyes and after a while that mess got old. It got to a point where some of us started saying to just give them a FNAF chapter just so they would freaking chill out.

It was a weird time, but eventually they either went away, got banned, or finally learned to calm down and stop letting leakers gas them up to the point where nobody wanted them in community.

Thanks for clearing that up, I seem to have joined after most of the FNAF hype kind of died down. (which is because said accounts got banned)

I've been a FNAF Fan since it came out, granted I was in my late teens-early twenties at the time so I wasn't swept along in the massive hype that FNAF ended up becoming. So a part of me does understand people's want for Springtrap to join the DbD line-up, he has a fantastic design IMHO, and I can also understand their frustrations at being disappointed over and over again.

But yeah, I agree that the members who were disappointed had to right to come in here and stir up trouble, especially since they had themselves to blame for getting swept along in what was a rumour mill at best.

  • Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see Jason, M3gan, Pennywise, and/or Chucky make their way into DbD, but if their IP holder says no then there's nothing BHVR can do, but if FNAF's IP said yes, then people will just have to live with it.

So I agree with a couple of other commenters here, if FNAF is the next licensed chapter, let the FNAF fans enjoy the content, as they have the grace to accept and enjoy IP's they're not huge fans of at all. And of course, you are not forced to buy the licensed chapter if it's not something you enjoy.

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

Who cares if it is FNaF.

A lot people are waiting for this license for years. Just let them be happy. I will never understand hate against this license.

I suspect the "dislike" for FNAF is because it got taken over by "kids" and we all know that kids are "cringe" despite the franchise being over nine years old at this point, which is, by the way, older than DbD. -_-

My second guess would be because people are salty that their favourite >insert indie horror title here< didn't hit it as big as FNAF, so they'd rather see that become a chapter over something "mainstream" even though from a marketing standpoint it makes sense to go for a successful/large IP over a small indie crossover (Resident Evil, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Silent Hill, Alien etc).

Don't get me wrong, I'd like to see Jason, M3gan, Pennywise, and/or Chucky make their way into DbD, but if their IP holder says no then there's nothing BHVR can do, but if FNAF's IP said yes, then people will just have to live with it.

Ruin isn’t a very good perk right now, so I wouldn’t worry about using it. There’s way better slowdown perks such as Pop or Pain Res.

I play a lot of Legion myself so if you want some tips or build ideas I’d be happy to help :)

Ruin is really only effective if you as killer can effectively guard it from being cleansed (like devour) and are confident you are good at your selected killer or ruin spawns in the middle of a three-gen you can easily patrol.

The last statement is what happened to me last night against a Blight, he was pinballing between three gens on Sanctum of Wrath where his Ruin had spawned, my friend and I figured it out after he kept periodically running to one corner of the map where we correctly guessed his hex had spawned. We eventually got rid of the totem and although he could have gotten a very easy 4K, we could tell he was playing for fun and to practice his bounces, slides and flicks. We escaped with a two-man out.

That said, Pop and Thana are super popular right now. I've seen them on a three-gen patrolling Wesker, a chase-oriented Clown, a salty Knight and Zoomies Legion. (seriously if you put Thana on Legion I hate you, and I'm saying this as someone who plays Legion a lot. XD)

Yes we do. Another solution would be make hatch spawn when there are 2 survivors left and killer has slugged other for extended time meaning killer risk both survivors escaping when being greedy for 4K.

Killer still has about 80% chance for 4K if he just kills 3rd survivor. Slugging for 4K is really most boring thing in dbd apart from survivors hiding just wasted so much time and should be fixed.

I do enjoy spiting killers who slug for the 4K, especially if they ignore me (even when I go down right next to a hook) to go and pick up the person they slugged first. So I just crawl to the corners of the map and let them waste their time looking for me and/or hatch, sometimes I get lucky and find hatch, but others not so much.

  • I don't think Unbreakable Base Kit will fix the slugging issue, but I am in favour of a "concede" option. Especially when three survivors have been slugged and the killer is patrolling all three in the hopes of finding the fourth, this happened to me last night on Lery's against a Ghost Face.

He didn't stalk, he just M1ed everyone and left them slugged then proxied looking for me, the only survivor who wasn't injured. It was only after I got downed (I blew a gen and he knew exactly where to find me, I am terrible at hiding) that he started to hook everyone. Cheesing the game like that is one of the few times where I get legitimately mad at players, I don't mind dying I just mind being cheesed out of a "fair" fight.

Yeah I was watching Angry Pug play and some guy started spewing racist crap at the person playing Sonny. People left the lobby but imagine hearing that in a DBD game and DCing and then having to cop a penalty because you don't want to play with and listen to someone talking like that. As far as I'm aware, TCM has no DC penalty so you don't have to put up with the people playing with you if you don't want to. You're kind of stuck with them in DBD.

God that's just awful, imagine too if the player was also a female, it'd be tenn times worse with sexist drivel and sandbagging/sabotaging a female player. XO

  • Voice chat in DBD? No effing way. Its a disaster waiting to happen, given how people can, will and do get salty over everything and anything. People DC, Sandbag and grief other players over the smallest of slights enough to leave long winded post-game chats. A voice chat would just amplify that type of behaviour one hundred times.

Some neckbeard hears a woman speak in a proxy chat "time to sand bag her so she dies," or "time to sexually harrass her and prove how much of an unevolved ape I am towards women in games."

I'm sorry, but DbD is DbD and TCM is TCM.

you cant use pop when ruin is up tho and ruin only regresses gens at 100% can be cleansed and goes away when a survivor dies

I have seen pop and ruin in a killer's build though, granted I am in low MMR so it cou;d just be the killer not realising the effects don't stack, but the point still remains. They will take the gen regression stuff and then patrol a three gen.

  • @Annso_x said:

I wish we'd get stats per server, because from what I hear Nurse is v popular in Asia server, Blight in EU & Wesker in 'merica. It also probably heavily depends on MMR, I assume the higher you are the less variety you see bc more people are strictly playing meta.

I've actually been keeping track of every killer I've played against for over three months now (super casual player atm due to irl work conflicts) Granted I am on OCE, so maybe it's a regional thing, but I don't see the "top tier" killers as often as you might think, heck, I see a lot of less popular ones (minus Wesker I suppose because he is pretty popular). These are the killers I've come across the most so far:

Huntress (6), Demo (6), Wesker (7) and Trapper (4) with a fair amount of Wraith (3), Bubba (3) and Spirit (3). So in thirty-four-ish games, I've only come across Blight and Nurse Twice. (these are only a small part of my data pool because I plan on doing a larger data review after I've played one hundred or so games.)

The term has changed, or really expanded, in meaning since the gen kick meta. I've been playing for a few years and I remember for the longest time that anytime there was a 3 gen in my survivor games, it was at the end of the game and it was us survivors that caused it. I find nowadays, survivors tend to be more conscious of creating 3 gens. I rarely see it happen anymore. With killers, the 3 gen strat involves setting up a zone from the start of the game.

It also depends on the MMR as well, I'm in low teir atm but in my killer games I see survivors 3/4-genning themselves quite a bit by acident the only gen regression I run is Jolt and Corupt. In survivor, its a different story, like sure sometimes we 3-gen ourselves because soloQ madness and beginner mistakes, but at least 85% of the time it's the killers who have hard camped a 3-gen from the start.

In the survivor games I've played over the last couple of months, I've seen it twice in a row on lery's (back three gens if the basement spawns in main room), twice on Lampkin Lane (same back corner one in the house, one in the basement and one in the street), five times on Dead Dawg (Gallows, Salloon, the gen that spawns between gallows and saloon and Prospectors camp (back corner near the tent)) and twice on GoJ (one in shack, one near the train car and then one in that back corner) Each time the killers for those games would just run between those gens, would never chase far enough to make a dent in a gen before they'd prance on back and kick the gen with w/e gen regression perk they have equiped (Brine, OC, Pop, Ruin) then just continue patrollig while the survivors just slowly dwindled down because we couldnt do anything.

Now sometimes we'd get lucky and break the three gen, but more often than not we'd all be on death hook so it would all be for naught, maybe one of us would get hatch but that was kinda rare.

Sorry for the wall of text.

I think 3 gen is a fair/legit strategy just too opressive on killers like skill merchant, (maybe knight) but fine for pretty much every other killer.

It's mental on Wesker too, especially if he's running Pop and Ruin (legit combo I came across this on Lery's the other night, he was also running NWTH and BBQ) he can just run arround between the gens because of his dash, chase away survivors (if he sees them when they don't hide) then smack the gen for a large amount of regression ontop of ruin if it's not clensed early enough.

As much as it sucks for the people who play her in a chase-oriented way (myself included), she might require a rework to address this. That's the real shame here. I do play Skull Merchant. I do enjoy her to a point. But this is ridiculous.

Skull Merchant is so fun as a chase killer, I've played her a few times in customs and her chase potential is amazing. It's just a shame her power kind of encourages 3-genning, like yeah she's not the only one who does it (I was against a Knight and Wesker on Lery's and they just hard-guarded the three-gen in the back corner of the map, every hook, they would run back to the 3-gen I was trying to break to kick the gens with Pop and NWTH. I wanted to pull my hair out.) But she's certainly the only one that is making it a huge problem right now, so the Devs will either have to deal with addressing her kit or finally do something about 3-genning.

  • My only complaint about WoO is that it highlights breakable walls, so many times I've run to a glowing yellow box only to discover at the last moment it's a breakable wall is embarrassingly infuriating. XD I also wish they'd town down how "bright" the aura is on certain maps because it makes it very hard to see, but that's just a pet peeve of mine.

The only other thing I will say is that WoO, much like Lightborn, Kindred/Bond and Deja Vu, it does teach bad habits after a while even if it is a mostly harmless perk. And by bad habits, I mean, it is easy for said perks to become a crutch and you don't learn how to properly play the game/it becomes impossible to play the game without the perks.

Other than that, I don't really have a problem with WoO, people can play with whatever perks they want, even if it is annoying to come across them frequently.

New Sadako is fine, survivors are just too bad to hold tapes and play safe against an M1 killer

Buffed Coup de Grace is the most skilless chase perk introduced into the game since spirit fury

Hindered should remove haste effects from survivors

Found this out the hard way, I was the only one on my team against new Sadako doing tapes, guess who was the only person to die on hook instead of being condemned moried that game? (she out juiced me because of the short cooldown on teleport). I wasn't mad, just a little disappointed.

  • @TheWarNung said:

I think it's funny that I can always tell when someone is running Windows because they just autopilot from yellow aura to yellow aura.

A better fix to Windows though would be to bring back the cooldown. The auras disappear for 20s any time you drop a pallet or vault. That way you still get the benefits of the perk but you have to use some skill by remembering where the pallets are and planning a route to use them well.

It is super funny, I was chasing a Kate on the Chapple Map as Legion we were out in the open and she seemed pretty lost, the next thing I know she just out of nowhere veers left towards a pallet that I didn't even see, drops it on my head then bee-lines straight for a vault that I ended up catching her on. I said to myself, "I bet she had Windows", low and behold in the post-game lobby I see that she and one other person had Windows equipped. So easy to tell, especially when they use it to shift+W from tile to tile. Whether or not it works just comes down to map/game knowledge.

  • I mean, Susie could also be bi. Would be nice to have some bi-rep, as they tend to get overlooked quite a lot. As they're either as "confused" straight people or as closeted gays trying to be "straight" (the bi-erasure is real), either way, it will be interesting to see what's going to happen.

(Also iirc, it's hinted at in their lore that the Legion members are all bi/pan, so who knows really.)

  • Honestly, on paper, it sounds like a good idea, but idk if it'd work. Maybe I wouldn't be against a 4th generator being added if it means it stops the 3-gen slog but as long as something was added for the end game. Maybe survivors need to find gears/parts to activate a totem to get the gates powered up before they could be opened? or maybe said final gen needs an extra "item" that only spawns when there is one gen left like it's a "special" end-game generator or something.

Though realistically, I think the main problem is with the gen spawns themselves. As with hooks for the killer side, sometimes they spawn too close together, other times they're too far apart. It's an artificial difficulty, I get that, but some maps are just too predictable IMHO.

So if the devs can somehow tweak the spawn rates, it might be better. idk, just spitballing ideas.

  • It's a very wonky mechanic, I've revealed GF while just panning my camera around to see where he was but then I've had times where I'm looking dead center at him and he remains shrouded.

Exactly, not all horror is splatter and slasher. Horror can be comedic, it can be suspenseful, it can be psychological, it can be sci-fi, it can be paranormal etc.

  • I got one:

I played a pretty average game, low MMR, I was new to Killer at the time and the survivors, except for one were pretty new, so none of us know what we were doing. I managed to get 3K and decide to bring the last survivor to hatch, because they had done really well, just have been cucked by soloQ, they ofc went through hatch. In the post-game the player I gave hatch to, Yui (IIRC) posted "Noob killer, L=Raitio" or some crap, I actually had to google what it meant because I didn't know much "net speak" speak at the time. To this day, I still don't understand why they were so mad. :-/

He's not suppose to look scary because his horror stems from him being normal on the outside but twisted and fcked up on the inside, when he drops the facade of normality and start showing his true colors.

He's basically the Terry Simmons/Norman Bates/Patrick Bateman of Dead by Daylight.

Pretty much this, Trickster's scariness comes from the effect that he is a chameleon. He's a celebrity, he's a dark twisted reflection of the K-Pop industry. You're meant to be distracted by the glitz, glamour, bright lights, his amazing voice and his good looks. Off-kilter behaviour can be passed off as a stage persona, his "weapons" are just props in a performance.

Seriously, in a lineup of murderers, he'd be the absolute last person you'd point to as a killer. That's what makes him scary.

There's all different kinds of horror. If you're only sticking to grotesque horror then you're missing out.

Exactly, gore and slasher films aren't the only types of horror.

It's the part of the upcoming changes.

Devs believe Sadako players will just spam TP and try to build up condemnation since it will become global and to combat it, they will grant survivors ability to take any tape and deliver to nearest tv. In reality, this will mean that Sadako will be losing stacks very quickly and very often while will build up stacks quickly only if she will focus one survivor and consider tunneling someone out.

In trying to circumvent a problem, they've created another one? Sounds about right. lmao.

Hahaha that's so adorable...I remember a similar thing happening to my boyfriend when he first started (which was before me, so I had no clue)..he was like..they keep sending me messages and saying i'm "camping them," but if I supposed to kill them..why would i leave when they're on the hook?! We laugh about it now haha

The 3 gen stuff is getting so tiresome...I had a knight AFK yesterday...so I thought, I realized he was ignoring us the entire match to have a solid, tight 3 gen and only started playing when anyone was near any of them. So all gens, but 1 got done..he wouldn't even keep chase..he would only chase off of gens and then go back to his 3. After 10 minutes of this, I went to a hook and just pointed. I'm all good with wasting that much of my time.

Thanks for the follow! :D. But yeah, it was kinda cute, something to look back and laugh at now that I know better. I know people like to rag on tunnelling, camping, 3-genning, BM-ing, DC-ing and all that jazz, ofc within good reason. It's also healthy to give them the benefit of the doubt, like maybe they're new or perhaps they've got shoddy internet or some IRL drama is happening in the background (in the cases of DC's) like you never just know so don't make assumptions. It's also ok to be angry in the moment type stuff as well, because someone isn't playing optimally or fairly, like with guarding a 3-gens.

I do agree that 3-genning has gotten out of hand, like again it's a valid strategy if the survivors do it to themselves by accident. However, to go out of your way and secure a 3-gen at the start of the game, essentially cutting it in half then getting angry when survivors DC or "throw" you only have yourself to blame and are not a very good killer player. Not everyone can play the game for 20+ minutes, hell I've seen some SM matches and Knight matches hold the 3-gen until the server times out, like how is that fun?

You totally nailed everything. If you let them live or they survive on their own, you get hate mail. If you kill them, same thing.

I'm having the same problem as you as far as having ttv in the name, sometimes I feel like I am tunneled because of it...I have a really high Prestige Jane and if I play her, with the ttv name combo, it's insta tunnel.

I don't have any lag problems, but what you said is pretty accurate..if it's not me getting tunneled out it's always someone ASAP. At this point I feel like..if you can't play killer, just don't...I don't consider camping/tunneling immediately and 3 gen'ing for 45 minutes "playing." Today I had a knight that didn't play the whole game..he had merciless storm and my teammates apparently couldn't do this to save their lives, but he never pursued chase..and I thought hmm weird. Until I realize it's because he was protecting a three gen. They couldn't outplay it. I was getting bored, he wasn't pursuing chase...just chasing off gens. After about 10 minutes, I just went to a hook and told him to hook me. Some of us have lives and don't wanna run around for 45 minutes so a knight can 4k from a game of nothing.

Yeah, like I know what I said about how tunnelling and camping sucking because the killer is doing something that can be seen as universally douchy, a strategy to be sure, but a douchey one. But the moment survivors are doing well or the killer is playing fair, said survivors just have to rub it in the killer's face.

I think I get tunnelled out because of the TTV name and because I like to play Meg and Mikaela (because memes are funny I guess), one of my other TTV friends teases me about it all the time (its all in good fun so I don't take it personally). Like at first, I thought it was just a coincidence but when I started playing more and watching other TTV's I noticed a pattern, killers (and sometimes teammates) would more often than not go out of their way to target the TTV. It sometimes feels like the whole "Ma! I'm on TV!" mentality, like they immediately turn off their brain and go for the streamer because reasons.

I have to say I'm on the fence, like people start at different places when they play Killer some start off good, while others start off in bad. NLG when I first started playing Killer, I thought hitting folk on hook made them die faster I didn't know it was considered as a form of BM-ing, until someone asked me why I was doing it in the post-game when I explained myself. They were super understanding and gave me some pointers on how to improve and how to avoid BM-ing as a new player, like this is the side of DbD I really appreciate, the side that wants to help others get better at the game. But on the flipside, I also believe if you are so tilted from the previous match to just stop playing for the night because there's no point in bringing forward that kind of mental because you're not going to play well and you'll make everyone else miserable. (I am still learning this ofc)

I have serious issues with The Knight on DDS, especially how he can easily camp the three gen from the top of the Saloon, the one on the gallows and the one that spawns in between them. I was stuck in a 30 min war of attrition game against a Knight, because he just kept using his guards to patrol that 3 gen, like to be fair to him, we did 3 gen ourselves. But it still didn't excuse the way he just camped those gens and refused to leave them, he woulnd't chase beyond the main street so we just kept going back to our boon (before the CoH changes) and healing and trying again, until we just gave up and let him hook us.

Also similar thing happened on GoJ with artist, she garded a 3-gen from the start of the game and just slowly whittled us down, all the while not chasing far from her precious 3-gen.

I was gonna give you a follow on TTV, but turns out your name here is not your name there lol

lmao, it is XD, just slightly different spelling: https://www.twitch.tv/brightwulph . I haven't streamed in over two months though because of irl work conflicts, but I have some time off coming up soon so I can definitely do some streaming soon.

I'm a killer main, but i've been grinding survivor more lately..and I can agree, it's bad.

Last night I was live streaming on Twitch and ahd a Trickster (who apparently had zero shame)..hook me, I got unhooked, downed me, hooked me..I got unhooked, I ran..he chased..downed me and killed me. No time to run, no time to heal. It was pretty discouraging. Almost every match, at least one person was tunneled immediately out. I understand gen rushing is a problem, but I don't agree with tunneling and camping immediately at five gens. Gross.

I'm the same, Killer main, but have been playing Survivor for a breather and I'm just getting tunnelled out of every game I play. Doesn't matter if I'm solo or in a duo-trio SWF, just straight-up tunnelled out. Idk if it's because I have TTV in my name or because I have bad internet/lag but it is ridiculous. Like no time to reset/heal no time to walk away from the hook before I'm downed and hooked.

Like, I played off-stream with a friend of mine against a Doctor on DDS a couple of weeks ago, and because of my ping, I got vacuumed to the wrong side of the pallet and got grabbed, like no big deal it happens right? I get hooked, then after a few moments I get rescued, no big deal. I run off with my rescuer to get some healing, but BOOM Doctor shocks us and we all scream, he comes up, and taps my healthy rescuer while I try to run away. The Doctor ignores the person he just smacked, to come after me. My basekit BT has worn off, I go down again and I'm hooked, again no big deal it happens, just bad luck/timing, right? So I'm left to hang around some more until I'm rescued, run off to heal, rinse repeat Doctor blasts his power and we all scream, he smacks my rescuer who tries to peel him off me but he goes right for me again. This time I'm left slugged as he FINALLY goes for one of my teammates who had saboed the hook he had wanted to put me on, I crawl away to hide so I can be picked up. Only for Doctor to use his power and find me AGAIN. Though ofc, this time I'm on death hook, so I die instantly. The big kicker is, I brought BPS as a way to apologise for having bad internet and I only got a measly 2000 points (everyone else got upwards of 10,000)... This guy had no chill and it wasn't just me he tunnelled, there was another TTV in the game, who was live and also got tunnelled, but they were a higher MMR or had better ping and were able to make the Doctor look like a clown.

ETA: Like as a Killer main, I understand exactly why he was tunnelling. He saw a "weak" link and had to exploit it, but he was playing Doctor one of the strongest killers in the game right now, he didn't need to go as hard as he did. Like idk, maybe he was one of those people who target TTV's because it's "funny" to him, but it was really annoying.

When I play Killer I try not to tunnel or camp because of how gross it is (I hate when I feel like I have to play like this because the survivors are playing like toxic #########), and what hurts is that when I do play fair Survivors either DC or trash-talk me in the post-game and call me a "noob/baby killer" and to "uninstall". Like what do you want? To be tunnelled/camped at 5 gens or have a killer who plays fair and by the "survivor rule book"? You can't have it both ways. *facepalm*

  • I'd Buff Trickster, Rework Legion, Nerf Blight (his add-ons ofc) and Remove Wesker (not that I'd remove any killer from DBD, but Wesker is my least favourite killer right now).

  • I've been running We'll Make It since the meta change, it is so helpful. Only issue is, that I never get a chance to use it... >.>

I think chase should start within 15sec into the match. Sometimes 4 survivors spawn at 4 different place, which easily have 1 of them close to the killer, especially if they have Lethal, chase would start instantly.

First down early is fair for me if Killers not try hard. Other than that facing against tunneler/camper is a guarantee defeat.

As long as tunneling and camping still in the game, I dont blame people suicide on first hook after early down.

Yep, spawned in with Doctor almost on top of us. Literally within the first few moments of the game, he had shocked and hit at least three of us before we could even think about finding gens, let alone cover.

Similar with a Wesker, he was on top of us before we could even move or figure out where on the map we had spawned. Didn't help he had Lethal, so he saw all four of us grouped together and just beelined straight towards us. Didn't help we were on Pale Rose as well, one of the smaller maps, even with all the decore and debris that hindered his dash, he still made mince meat out of us. Dead at five gens within five-ten minutes of the match, because none of us could get away or even chase him.

  • Honestly, same OP. I don't really hate him, I'm just tired of seeing him. Maybe it's the server I'm in, but I see him back-to-back some days, often four-five matches in a row. The first two times it's fine, like whatever right? But by the time the third Wesker makes an appearance in the game I start getting annoyed, fourth and fifth I want out.

Wesker himself is fun to play, but he also has a habit of attracting people who like to "cosplay" as him, by trying hard for that 4K because they "ARE" Albert Wesker. It's that type of Wesker I am tired of seeing.

3 gen only sucks when they refuse to even attempt to chase.

Like a lot of Skull Merchants lately. Had two back-to-back who did this, would chase at the start of the game but only so long before they'd drop and march back to their three-gen kicking any gens that had progression along the way.

I can't imagine it was a fun way to play, because it's winning by exhausting the survivors out of their resources.

  • Yeah, I miss the snowmen and the pumpkins, they were so much fun. I had a serious bonding moment on GoJ with a group of survivors as Legion, we congalined and played tag while in the snowmen. It was fun and wholesome, I got a tome challenge done, so did the survivors and I was given two free kills for my trouble as well.

So yeah, I'd love to see more interactive things on the maps either holiday-themed or permanent it'd give people something to do if they're bored or just want to meme around.
