I'm honestly surprised that BHVR didn't give Trickster a map, especially to replace the map loss of the stranger things lab. Like, maybe a map based on the studio where he killed all of the executives would be pretty cool, maybe the room/location where he killed his victims or the concert venue with the stage from his trailer?
Just a few ideas.

On the contrary. Solo, when matchmaking works, allows for a great deal of teamwork. Teamwork is more than just altruism like body blocking and stuff. It's the collective efforts of everyone. Sorry for your losses; we all know it's the teammates' faults. But I've had positive as well as negative experiences.
There was one match where there was this Leatherface that downed 1 person and camped them to death, and I knew that was his plan from the start, and my teammates should have known, because after he hooked that person nobody else went down or even got injured, meaning he was Insidious'ing at the hook, which he was. Rather than pushing gens with me, which would have left this killer with a 2k at best, the 2 dunces waited next to the hook knowing that they couldn't do anything without hook trading, they didn't even do that, and instead let the person die on first hook AND both went down themselves for no reason at all! Even still, I kept pushing gens til the next guy that was hooked died, picked up the remaining slug, and she kept pushing gens while I was taking the killer on a very long chase until inevitably getting downed and hooked. At this point, we're at 1 gen and I have Adrenaline. She screwed up on the Merciless Storm skill checks, but assuming she didn't miss them, finished the gen, and was able to work on a gate if the killer was camping OR sneak around and unhook me if he wasn't, we would have been out of there, at least one of us. That's how much power survivors have even after making the worst mistakes possible, and we need more solos to realize that, rather than giving up and not getting good.
I've had this happen to me more than once. The first time ever playing DbD, I got put against Bubba and he face camped me, then just downed everyone. The last time I played survivor it was against a Deathslinger who was pretty average, but I screwed up and got downed. He hooked me and instead of doing gens, two of my teammates came to get me off hook, leading the killer right back to me, where they both got downed and I got sent into the second hooked state. Our other team mate, was off doing gens. They managed to get two done, but ultimately ended up loosing the game. it was quite interesting to watch.

I'm still pretty new to the game, so I'm trying to figure out a playstyle that works for me both as killer and survivor. I do think people who t-bag killers at the exit gate, especially if it's obvious they're new to the game and are toxic in the endgame chat are disgusting little toe-rags that need to get a life. Like seriously telling an obviously new player to uninstall or ######### is just distasteful and you should be ashamed of yourself.
But mostly I do try to just have fun and ignore the obvious turds, kind of hard when it seems like the game wants you to play against sweats and SWFs. (No hate towards SWFs, it's how I got into the game in the first place.)

From what I noticed there's a huge problem with matchmaking. This leads to very depressing matches. No matter how good you are, you'll get paired with bad players every now and then. Many people give up because they think they got zero chance to win since they feel like their opponent is way too strong compared to them.
This mentality is a bit stupid since it means that people don't want to try and win but want the free win in their table. If we all play with this mentality by simply disconnecting every time something doesn't go in our way, we'll never improve and the skill level will be low in general because nobody wants to improve.
Long story short: do your best instead of crying about it.
It happens on the other end too, I'm very new to killer. Am in fact a little yellow killer, I am still learning basic killer mechanics, the layouts of maps and the input delay I have with the controller. ISTG every game I've played tonight has been high-level four-man SWFs with lots of hours, high-level add-ons/perks and just running combos of toolbox, flashlight and medkit.
By the time I manage to get one survivor down and hooked, three gens have been popped and they're all chasing me and t-bagging me. It's very demoralising and that's saying something because I come from League of Legends, where the air is so thick with toxicity you need an aqua-lung to breathe.
I did finally manage to get the better of a cocky survivor who was waiting for me at the exit gate and T-bagging me, so that was satisfying, but yeah. This game, like all games, has a steep learning curve. And being a baby-killer basically giving free games to sweats isn't fun, but I suppose there's not much else I can do.

I'm pretty new to killer and I've been trying to figure out why everyone keeps camping pallets and trying to loop me every match, especially around pallets, outside of trying to distract me from others doing gens. At least I know it's because of this challenge, quite annoying though, but at least I'm getting practise in hitting people as they try to vault and getting points from breaking pallets. lol
