Tell me about it, I literally typed out "GG's Well played" and the chat just bugged TF out and was literally "GG's ### ######." I was mortified, I tried to explain that I wasn't flaming and even went as far to:
Type
Like
This
But every other word was just "####." I understand that BHVR wants to keep the Post-Game as "clean" as possible. But when the filter is this buggy and somehow allows the single-letter spelling of slurs and insults, simiarly spelled as I noted above, it is incredibly infuriating. Either remove post-game chat altogether or remove the filters.

Oh no, when you spend that much time playing killer, especially the same one, you start to feel about when, where and how you should catch up to a survivor. If you make it through to BL3 and still aren't catching a survivor, then there is a high likelyhood that they are cheating.

And that's not even including subtle cheaters, who many have a permanent 3% buff to their speed or something similar. It's sometimes hard to tell.
Yep, the easiest way with subtle speed hackers is to chase them to shack. if they are "rounding" shack corners before the killer is within LoS then it is obvious that they are speed hacking. Even if they have a chase perk to help "hide it" it's still incredibly obvious.

The biggest problem is the difference between soloQ, low MMR and SWF.
The mass nerfs to Gen regression, I feel, was made with High MMR and SWF (doubly so for high MMR SWF teams) in mind, to prevent the high MMR killers from dragging the game to a halt against "good" teams. Only problem is that in doing so it ends up ######### over low-mid MMR killers and SWF teams (because not every SWF you encounter is trying to be the next Team Eternal, more than likely in low-mid MMR you're dealing with a stack of friends who just want to play a couple of games together and not sweat their balls off.) These changes also screw with SoloQ, as they have to deal with the three other hockey pucks they get matched with, and pray that the killer also isn't sweating in expectations of encountering coordinated Solo's or being matched against the high MMR SWF.
So yeah, as killer, choose to run quad slow-down and you have a higher chance of winning against good teams, but more often than not you'll just end up stomping a bunch of noobs. Don't run the slowdown, then you loose 2-3 gens in the first chase because of how fast the progression is now.

strange. I see hackers every 4-5 months it’s not very common and I’ve been playing since 2018.
I know I've been against one definite hacker in the last month, and they weren't even subtle with their speed hack.

For Killer I'd have to say I really disliked Nowhere to Hide, coupled with the Overcharge and Eruption meta around the time Knight and Skerchant were released…yeah there was a reason Distortion became a staple in, not just my build, but a lot of builds until Overcharge and Eruption were nerfed.
As for Survivor, I'd have to say old Circle of Healing. Don't get me wrong, it was and still is a handy perk to a lesser degree, but it was too OP. Set it up on a specific totem of certain maps and you'd have near map-wide coverage. Not to mention, the fact it can be re-booned as many times as the survivor wants (not to mention boon stacking IIRC), when Hexes are pretty much rendered useless after they're broken just allowing the survivors to be too independent, was a bit of a kick in the teeth.
Dishon mentions: Eruption/Overcharge/Call of Brine…Nuff said. Sprint Burst, I've been screwed over by teammates who play very selfishly with their 99ed Sprint Bust, so they can high-tail away from the killer, with their 0 hook states, while I, on first or death hook, have to try and juice the killer at a tile where the pallet is already gone from an earlier chase. Boilover, while not as powerful as it was, is still annoying to deal with on ceratin maps.

The "1 perk that counters 500 perks and addons" arguments against Distortion never really made sense to me. Because when a killer brings a full aura build all your tokens get eaten up in a second anyway and your aura still gets revealed all game. Whether you hide or take chase all game you barely have time for all your tokens to regenerate before you lose them again. Especially with this new Weave + Franklins meta.
Also in the patch notes, the devs make it seem like aura reading is the only way to find survivors. What happened to gen patrolling, using scratch marks and blood pools, using your ears, or just plain old searching the map? Isn't that the point of this game? Why are the devs promoting using aura reading as a crutch? Yes, those perks and addons are useful but killers should not have to rely solely on them.
To address the bottom part of the comment, the reson why it seems like aura reading is the "only wway" to find survivors, is because it's the most OP form of it. Literal wall hacks can give some very vital peices of information.
A lot of killer players, over rely on the aura reading as an "easy" way to find survivors. Which in turn teaches them bad habits, and now how to patrol and pressure gens properly.sorry if this is just drivel, I just got off an 8hr work shift I am very much fired.

I'm literally having the same issue. Everything worked find before Lights Out dropped and now even menus are dropping FPS 😑
IKR? What's really getting my goat is that I didn't have any FPS drops during Chaos Shuffle or 2v8 (outside of normal package loss due to server connectivity). So I don't understand why its happening in this particular game mode, is it because of the filter? Which it can't be, because it's a filter like Night Fall or Freddy's Dream World. I don't suffer FPS drops during those filters, only in Lights Out.
So it has to be a bug related to the mode or killers powers interacting with the filters (seems to be worse with killers like Doctor, Billy, Chucky etc.)
-
I can't even play the gosh darn mode without extreme FPS drops, so severe to the point where I can't even hit skill checks because the game is several lightyears ahead of my frames. I can't enjoy the mode if I'm literally being cheated out of a chance to play, because the game mode is causing my PC to freakout.
And again, this mode, much like last time, is a mode where stealth killers and killers with global detection eat like gods (Ghostface, Chucky, Wraith, GhostFace, Myers, Doctor, Legion) where basic ######### killers are less than useless.

i hated the orginal light out as survivor but i will give this one a few games. I just think a game mode based around finding survivors is doom to fail. Most Killers despise the hide and seek gameplay even in the normal mode (Me in included). Killers should at least get some vague basekit information like spies from the shadow or whisper. Otherwise you just going to repeatedly see killers who circumvent the whole point of the mode. I already know it's going to be 30% to 40% Legion matches. no thanks
I agree, considering killers that get "killer instinct" or have an alternative tracking method (Oni's blood orbs, Legion's KI with frenzie hits, Nemmy's Zombies, Doctor's shock radius) eat well in this mode, its going to be a little bit of a nightmare.
-
Honestly, this nerf isn't as bad as I was dreading. Considering BHVR's track record with gutting perks for little to no reason other than "they're used a lot." and "people have been complaining."
As for me, distortion ends up being a dead perk in 70% of my games. But it's not great either. I definitely would have preferred it to have the tokens be tied into gen progression that the player has personally worked on/completed instead of chasing with the killer. That way, it would at least incentivise working on gens instead of the people who use distortion to hide for the majority of the game.
That said, it will at least negate the lack of recharge against killers who can hide their TR (Ghostie, Myers, Wraith.) If you enter a chase with them if the chase detection doesn't bug out. Lmao.
Hopefully, people will use the PTB to test out these changes and will give feedback to the testing, so the changes are revised slightly before they go live.

To me - any form of "hug techs" are just a blatant unintended bug. And pips deliberately using those - bug exploiting.
Always been like this. It's even been confirmed by the behavior: - It's not intended.
No offence to Lilith Omen (if you know who it is) - but this guy was using unintended bug on Blight for years, and didn't get punished for.
I also don't know why this obvious and very popular bug wasn't fixed for such a long time.
This is how I feel about it as well, same with flick techs as well. You're technically not suppsoed to be able to force your camera to spin like that during an animation for extra momentum for an extra down.

From what I remember of the first Lights Out Event, it was incredibly killer favoured and proved that many killers need their redstain and that removing it was in fact, a bad idea (Which was a killer buff that was in talks in the community around the time the first LO event was introduced.)
So yes, the headstart will seem overpowered, hell it will be extremely difficult for certain killers. However, it's a little too early to say it will make the game mode impossible to play for killer.

@SweetbutaPsycho said:
Honestly I think the issue seems to be that you dont play these killers often.
I took a longer break from DBD right after Xeno but was a Huntress/Plague/Meyers main before that. When I came back after Chucky release I bought every killer I was missing and started playing them for Adept. The first like 10 matches I had on each of my missing killers that I never played before were the absolute sweatfests that you are describing. 8k hours on every survivor, BNP, swf.
On the killers I played regularly before and am still playing now my experience is not nearly that bad but the survivors seem more chill and approximately my skill level.
So what Im personally thinking is that the MMR is confused on what to do with you, when it doesnt have enough data about you on that particular killer. The solution it goes for seems to be that it justs puts you in the highest available skill bracket that is queuing at that time rather than risking putting you vs a team that you would absolutely stomp.
So the solution would be to actually play more killer so the MMR gets more data about you . Im having pretty balanced matches now on the killers that got constant sweatfests before
This happened to me too, though slightly in reverse. I main Legion, Wraith, Trickster and Sadako while dabbling with Doctor, Artist, Vecna and now Dracula.
When I play any of my mains, for some reason I will be placed against noobie survivors who have no idea what to do, beyond watching a few looping tutorials on YT/Twitch.
When I'm playing the killers I want to test crap out with (powers, add-ons, fun builds I've seen etc) like Doctor, Artist, Vecna, Xeno or Dracula. Suddenly my MMR skyrockets and I'm with people who are 4/3-man SWFs on coms. I'm talking about one person who shadows me around the map to make callouts to my locations, pre-running and pre-dropping basically making chase/anti-loop builds with Sprirt Fury and Enduring a pain to test and making any point to try and test out gen defence builds double annoying. They're also the types to bring BNP and Wire Spool on Green or purple toolboxes, and rush the gens so fast like they're trying for a world record for how quickly they can be out of a game.
Sure, survivors, and killers, can play however they want. But I don't see the fun, let alone the point, of being in a five-minute match where no one gets above 15K BP at the highest depending on how much the survivors could do. Like, I've DCed from matches like that because I couldn't pressure gens and the survivors were getting cocky/bored and started to "bully" me, because how dare I not be able to keep up with their wannabe comp nonsense on a killer I am trying to learn. (Low key, this is what stops me from trying to learn new or known strong killers, because people get salty when they not only lose to these killers but also win against them. So there is no winning, be too bad that its annoying or be too good that its annoying.)
It also goes the same for killers who will tunnel the absolute crap out of one person all game. I saw this in 2v8 when there were maybe six survivors left and the entire team would all but throw themselves at the killer (In this case a Trapper), but all the killer does is ignore them to tunnel out the poor Jake for the merest of crimes of spawning in or being found first (Though in this case I think the Jake was playing Scout so was going around disabling traps, which ofc is a sin). And it's not just in 2v8, in Regular mode, I was tunnelled after I completed one generator, unhooked and healed a teammate then ran the killer for a one-gen chase because they refused to not only break the pallet but also just drop chase with me and go for someone else. What made that even more ironically hilarious, is the killer had Pain Res and Surge, so he had adequate gen defence and he had already hooked me once so he wasn't trying to get a final Pain stack, he already had it. He just hated me because I pallet stunned and looped him.

The matches should have a time limit and if not completed in time all survivors should be killed by the Entity automatically. Problem solved, exactly the same decision that was made when Endgame Collapse was introduced to stop them from taking hostage the match.
Wish they'd do this for the exit gates too, spend too long inside or close proximity to the exit gate w/o leaving (or performing an action like healing) for a set amount of time a blood warden effect activates and if the killer isn't there to knock you down the entity will just straight out kill you.

You want to fix this? Instead of punishing survivors further, BHVR should actually make a 2v1 winnable. The moment it gets to 2v1, it's the survivor's loss. The only thing you can do is hope the other survivor is caught first and that the hatch spawns near you.
I play 50-50 both sides and I agree with this, at least encourage survivors to touch gens in a 2v1 situation. Be it faster repair speed, movement/haste, faster exit gate opening or something to make survivors feel like they have a chance, instead of just hiding until either side is bored or someone is found.

I had a game where a Dracula kept 1 person slugged continuously until they bled out from the timer. Every time someone tried to pick them up he would just knock them down again, he would sit and avoid the healing survivor and only hit the slug.
We fixed all the gens but he still managed to kill her doing this when we got to 1 gen, and then NOED got him a 4k when the third survivor went down and he went for the gates.
Now I know there are ways that at least I myself could have gotten out, but it is stuff like this that makes solo survivor so miserable. That killer would probably get destroyed by a SWF that I face but because I am solo I will never be grouped with those 4 man SWFs.I've noticed this with a lot of Dracula's lately, more than likely new to DbD and picked up the game because they're Castlevania fans, which fair enough, you don't know the culture of DbD it's understandable.
However, the players who just do that to be an #########, no matter who the killer is over the tiniest slight, make it unbearable. I versed a Dracula on the day he went live, all I did was complete one and a half generators, unhook and heal my teammate and looped you in chase for half of a gen. Yet somehow, that warranted me being not only tunnelled out of the game but also BMed on hook.
My brother/sister in Christ, it's ok to be new to Dracula, it's okay to only get 1-2K on an unfamiliar killer. You don't need to win on your first game, take your time and learn, don't be an ass about it. Yeah, that sucks, but honestly, how often do killers slug all four survivors for the bleedout? Maybe if they were the bulliest of the bully squads, but outside this, its sure pretty rare.
Just out of context, muse about this (as it is a bit whataboutism, I give you that): how often do you experience killers leaving everyone slugged for the whole 4 min? In the same vein, 85% of survivor groups, be they SWFs or randoms, have at least one survivor who will happily waste the killers time till the very last second, just for the off-chance that they might show off their twerking skills and awesome lightshow.
This constant nagging might eventually get to some killers and break them. I have occasionally done so myself, but besides the most outrageous of bullies, I always felt bad afterwards and repented.
I suppose at the end of the day we're comparing two different PoV's since your games are, potentially, very different than mine (MMR alone could be the deciding factor here). However, it doesn't change the fact that slugging and baiting are happening more frequently and it's not just me who's been noticing. I saw it in 2v8, and it's been slowly becoming increasingly common. I will grant you the full four-man slug at 5/4 gens for the full bleed-out timer is still incredibly rare, but I've also been left to slug and bleed out when there are not only two generators remaining but also two other survivors as well survivors.
Perhaps the biggest issue is SoloQ and/or Killers over-preparing in anticipation of meeting a "bully squad" which is still fairly common, if only because they can camp pallets and blind with BTL and other perks. When I play killer, I don't slug unless it's for strategic purposes or to punish bully squads, and even then I don't leave them slugged for long in case of Unbreakable. Mostly because I know how unfun it is to play against a slugging killer, which means if I have to g*mp my own chance at an early win, I will because I want to try and play fair. Even though I know the survivors will take advantage of my being unwilling to play nasty until the end-game when its a free-for-all.

LMAO are we now calling slugging camping via rescue denial? Now I have officially seen everything. No, for real, I know that you are just one voice in the crowd, but this is one of the biggest copes I have ever seen, and its idle talk like this that robs all buzzwords of any kind of substance, because they are used so much out of context, that they lose all validity .
Bro, I was 4 man slugged by a Hag at 3 gens last night for a full four minutes. No one, not even the Hag got that many BP that match. Sure they got their adept, but it was the most boring gameplay I have ever participated in.
Sure I may be "coping" but being slugged for four minutes straight is just very boring gameplay, I play this game to have fun, not stare at the ground while the killer humps my body for being a streamer.

SOME PEOPLE are colorblind….
SOME PEOPLE have poor eyesight…
Until Bhvr has a slider for people with vision problems it is in fact not fair to certain people. They need to be allowed as they have been for YEARS.
Pretty much this, I can berely see on certain maps because of how dark/bright they are. I need filters to be able to play the game properly. Turning my monitor's brightness up or down isn't a good compromise, it causes too much eye-strain and migraines.

@Mr_K said:
Slugging a survivor is not camping.
It kind of is, its a form of rescue denial.
It's better known as a fishing strategy most often employed by stealth killers, in where they set a "lure," (a slugged or hooked survivor), then will hide nearby but within LoS and easy walking distance and go for an "easy" trade (if mistimed) or a second down. While technically, not official camping, it is still a PITA to deal with, because unless you're in a SWF or have coordinated SoloQ teammates, it results in a super cheap 4K for the killer.
-
Not always true, I play as a duo with a good friend (sometimes a trio if we can convince a third to join us) and we do come across some very good SoloQ survivors from time to time. More often than not, they're another Duo, but sometimes we luck out and get two coordinated randoms. They're out there, but it's still incredibly rare.

It really is a vicious cycle and I don't know how we're supposed to fix it. :(
I think Scott Jund had the idea that killers could have individual base % when they kick gens. Basic M1 killers have a higher base damage than say killers with good map traversal, who would naturally have lower damage. Obvs they'd have to rethink regression and kicking mechanics while balancing regression/defence perks around that.
Also, I had the thought to add on top of that, that gen blocking perks that vary in length so survivors don't just have to wait it out (E.G: Corrupt is useless if you down a survivor early due to luck or RNG spawns or if the survivors engage in hide-and-seek waiting out the timer), forcing them to look for a different gen to work on (say if they miss a skill check), which would give them more chances to come across the killer. Which I think could be more beneficial than kicking, as it's still a passive slowdown as Survivors don't just hunker down on gens while the killer is chasing the god-looper.

I feel this so hard, and it actively scares me away from playing stronger Killers. The abuse I get playing as Myers pales in comparison to what I get if I play Cenobite.
They don't even have to be strong, just annoying. I dropped Legion because of the sheer disrespect and hate I got for things like just playing normally trying to Frenzy chain for BP.
I know the Legion struggles so bad. Like never mind that they're pretty mid-tier because of how disadvantaged they are on large maps, not to mention with all these new perks/tiles for "chase extension" and people are just pre-running/dropping the moment they hear their TR. But they are by no means the "worst killer to face" There are others for that, like Plague, for example, who does everything that people complain about Legion doing but infinitely worse imho because her power can linger on objectives. While Legion is an M1 killer with a chase power that inflicts deep wound, sure mending is annoying, but just play around Legion's power and don't group up and you'll be fine.
But as for the abuse, I understand as well. I got called a "sweaty Legion" for bringing Franklin's to counter a wannabe flashlight bully squad. And they got mad that I kept kitting them outside of power to make them drop their purple items with strong add-ons. Never mind they gave up the moment they realised they couldn't effectively bully me as they hoped. But somehow its still my fault.
Anyway, the sore winners are also why I don't bother much with killers like Nurse, Blight, Spirirt, Wesker etc. It's also why I hesitate to play new killers like The Unknown, Vecna and Dracula, because people will be mad if I'm not a P100 sweet lord going for the 4K. Yet, as mentioned above will still be upset if you're just a P1 with yellow perks experimenting with how their power works and now really trying to "win".
Seriously, do people want to sweat their balls off every game or do they want to play chill? Or is this a case of people sitting in a fire and complaining that it's hot? -

Unfortunately this is what happens when everything changed to make SoloQ better just accidentally powers up SWF more.
You get a version of DBD where the Devs frankly HAVE TO start balancing around SWF… because teamwork, good coordinated teamwork, then becomes much too powerful against most Killers.
Which is when you get M1 killers running quad slow-down and slugging just to get an edge on the 4-man with toolboxes or some other annoying meta build. Which then ofc, leads to strong killer like Nurse, Blight, Huntress etc running full-aura or quad-slowdown, not because they need to, but because they want to.
which then feeds into people not wanting to play SoloQ, so they start pairing up with friends on coms and the whole cycle repeats itself. -

As a pig main, i know exactly what you are talking about. I often have the feeling that people in this game, regardless of which role they play, become literally evil towards everything they deem "worse". Lower tier killer? Lets be extra rude because they lack the options to do anything about it. Lower hour survivor? Lets tunnel them out asap. No meta perks? Your getting bullied friend.
That has nothing to do with the game itself other than that the perks are availible. However, if certain perks or playstyles are nerfed, others will rise to take their place. This is truly a problem with the playerbase itself.
This is the philosophy i try to follow: treat others the way you want to be treated. Does not only work wonders in real life, but also in game. You dont have to make your opponents experience amazing, however, you dont have to make it as miserable as possible either.
Know the feeling, play badly on a killer that is "known" for being OP or hell, even on a mid teir killer, because you just want to try them out for a change of pace and you get told to "uninstall, trash newb git gud" because how dare someone be new and or bad with a killer who strong.
No joke, I had someone tell me "GGez, baby Nurse got smoked. Uninstall and stay out of my lobby." in post-game chat. Like no #########, what clued you in that I was a "baby Nurse" ? Was it the yellow perk load out (All Ears, Bitter, Surge and Nurses) or the fact I was running her Plaid add-on which allows me to see where and how far I am blinking/teleporting? Or the fact I had no clue how her power worked even on simple loops? Like bro, would you have preferred to get smoked by a 2k hour full-aura nurse who's also slugging for the 4K? ISTG some players will never be happy.
Sorry, didn't mean to unload there. But I absolutely agree that many issues within DbD can be summed up by player toxicity, especially elevated when they've been playing for too many hours without a break or have been on an extended loss streak and they're just carrying over frustration and irritations from past matches. So they finally get an "easy" match and it breaks their brains because now they can finally release that pent-up energy and they, ofc, choose to do so in the most toxic way possible with little to no thought on how their little tantrum affects other players.
So yeah, just like you, I try to play the way I would like to see other killers try to play. Which is nice, chill where we all walk away from the match feeling like the game was tough but fair and with a decent amount of BP. Hopefully with only minor tunnelling and/or proxying (because sometimes that playstyle can't be avoided, no matter how hard you try.)
-
Yeah, I've seen this happen a few times now as well. I've seen both Huntress and Trapper do this. In one game we had this Nick who was caged until second stage because the Huntress kept following people who tried to go for the rescue and because the mechanic is basically Pyramidhead's cages they'd just teleport away. Holding this poor Nick hostage until the Huntress messed up and chased the wrong survivor (aka my duo) which allowed me to get the rescue. But, by then it was too late, as her "strategy" caused everyone to lose too much time trying to rescue this one player (we were down to five survivors at four gens at that point because her duo, a Wraith, was also hearding people away from gens and rescues.)
I mean I get it's a valid strategy, but it's still pretty goshdarn scummy.

Yep… it's killing me at this point. having 150-200ping against a huntress and nurse is harrowing
Yep…I've noticed that late at night when I play, my ping will start off relatively fine, but then out of nowhere it will suddenly spike and I'm not only getting high ping and framerate drops but also the red diamond "lag" symbol. I check and out of nowhere, I have 150-200 ping. So it must be because the OCE server doesn't have enough people playing at the time so it just connects me and my friends to SEA or somewhere "close" to alienate the wait timers.
-
Trapper is frustrating in this mode, because theres little that survivors can do to depend themselves from killers, so you end up with similar situations in 1v8 than in normal DbD in that he can lockdown an area and then both he and the other killer can heard you into the trapped area and basically get a pretty hefty lead, which is annoying af.
That said, my main issue is Huntress. Please, BHVR, for the love of god…revert her buffs, please just let her have five hatchets again. She was strong but fair before those buffs, now she can just spam her hatchets and it make for very boring and frustrating gameplay.
-
Skull Merchant. It's so boring and annoying to be literally outplayed by nothing. It costs her nothing to place down the drones, she can recall the disabled ones and then almost instantly redeploy them with little to no cooldown or lessening of the haste effects.
There's no point in trying to juke her at a loop because she just has to put down a drone to force you to Shift+W to the next loop, all the while she'll get haste, then a smack for free. Rinse repeat at the next loop where you'll be downed because the game says you got outplayed even though you did everything "right" as survivor.
Not to mention, Skull Merchant attracts some of the worst killers to her, who are usually the types of players who like to tunnel and slug, and then excuse their gameplay as "it's the killer's job to kill the survivors."
Yes birdbrain, it is the killer's job to kill, but you should also earn points by doing other things, but no apparently that's too hard because it's much easier to default to the absolute brainless gameplay of relentlessly pursuing one survivor until they're out of the game. All the while locking down a 3-gen (not as viable as when she first released, but still a very annoying strat.) with enough slowdown to make a top tier Blight blush with embarrassment.ETA: BTW, I'm not an entitled survivor main, I'm a killer main who likes ot dabble into playing survivor about 40% of my matches. I am sure, hell I know there are Skull Merchant players out there who do not play like the ones I mentioned above and can make Chase Merchant work extremely well and make her fun and engaging to go against, but unfortuntaly they are few and far between. At this stage, I think Skull Merchant's reputation is beyond saving, its obviously unviable to remove her form the game, but she is in desperate need of a toatal overhaul.
-
Considering just last night I had someone who kept running to a dead zone, that I had no choice but to leave slugged. Yes, I am looking forward to the change. 60 seconds is perhaps too fast, I'd have it be 90 - 120 seconds to make it more "fair." But it would at least discourage the Sabbo+BoilOver shenanigans that some in the fandom are fond of, especially when they yell at the killer in the Post-Game, about being left to bleed out.

These type of people make me sick, but you know they wouldn’t say any of that to your face.
Definitely not, they're the type of people who'd go down in one punch if they did say half of the vile ######### they say in the post-game chat or even they barge into streamers chat to spread the salt.

me not feeling like i lost.
This, even when you undoubtedly lost the game, it doesn't feel like a loss as long as you had fun. Even playing in Chaos Shuffle as Killer and Survivor, I never felt like I was steamrolled because I did decently well on both sides and it felt good. Tough matches that were and felt fair.
-
It's even worse when you're a streamer, they come in and just say the most vile, homophobic, sexist, degenerate ######### ever because they want to be extra salty. Insulting your viewer count, stream layout, PNG/VTube model etc. Trying everything to get under your skin, especially if you're just disappointed in their behaviour or otherwise don't give a rats about them.
A few nights ago I was called a sweaty killer for equipping Franklin's when I saw three flashlights and a toolbox, they ofc gave up at 3 gens because they realised I wasn't going to "fall" for their pallet-stun+blind BS. Which means, they ofc, "weren't having fun." Because only their fun matters and not the fun of the killer.

This seems to be an issue more towards killers than survivor (at least in my experience.) I want to say at least half my killer matches put me in Asian servers? As since I'm Australian it really messes with my ping and things like window/pallet interactations get real weird.
Yep, when I play Survivor my duo and I always get cucked over by lagvantage from being put in the Asian servers. On the rare occasions where we win against these lag-killers, it's because their ping is so bad they can't play properly or they're just bad/less skilled in general. There is no in-between.

I made an experiment recently, as a Nurse I intentionally spread hooks as wide as possible, even dropping chases with survivors who were dead on hook. And you know what happened? As soon as the gens were done, they start flashlight spamming and tbagging at the gates, as if they won because they are good, and not because I let them. The funniest thing is that during the actual trial not a single one of them dares to tbag the Nurse, but only when they are sure they can get away with it. So yeah, even if survivors don't BM you off the bat, doesn't mean they are decent people and won't do it when they win, so preventive tunnel and slug is always justified.
Yep, some survivors become extremely cocky when a player is new to a certain killer or when they see a "strong" killer playing "badly." Even though the killer is probably playing chill on purpose, they're on an unfavourable map, or they just don't want to sweat.
It also says a lot about the mentality of a lot of players when both killers and survivors load in expecting the worse from the other side like killers run quad slowdown because they expect to be genrushed or they expect a flashlight squad, and survivors bring genrush because they expect to be slugged at five gens or the killer to hold a three-gen from the start.
There's a lot of unhealthiness in this game, and something needs to be done very, very soon.

It’s honestly just the people who play her are miserable usually. Out of The past 10 Sadakos I’ve had 9 were very miserable with how much they were slugging, tunneling. But one of them was super fun to go against and actually cracked of course it was One Pump Willie the P100 Sadako.
Same, the last three Sadako's I went against were massive fans of the slugdako and condemn build teleport spam as well. It was mega boring, because after a while people just stopped picking up the tapes and just let themselves bleed out on the ground. what should have been close fifteen-minute games were turned into twenty-five-minute slogs because the Sadako's wanted value from condemned. -_-
As a Sadako mian myself, I was super pissed too because there are so many interesting ways to play her, but they went the path of least resistance.

Honestly, there needs to be a second server in OCE (I know the only one is somewhere in NSW, so why not put one in WA or maybe a dedicated server in NZ?) that way it can take some of the pressure off the main one, to share the load and make connections more stable. It would probably also "help" with people who VPN in from China or Russia, that way they'd have a more "stable" ping, that way they don't get as much lagvantage.

True... There is just nothing good about that character... Even her mori is basically just Freddy's mori but worse...
I wouldn't say there's nothing bad about her prese, just mismatched, almost like they decided to smoosh two different concepts together and prayed that it would work. because in theory Skull Merchant, should work. A sexy rich CEO big game hunter, who is bored of hunting exotic creatures turns to hunting the most dangerous of all creatures, her fellow humans, because she views everyone beneath her. That concept is pretty scary, she's so rich she can get away with murdering people for sport. Paying off the police to hide or delay the finding of evidence, making deaths look like accidents or they crossed the "wrong" people. To make her image even scarier, she uses the bones of her victims incorporated into her decore at her penthouse, her clothes, her jewellery even (bone rings and necklaces).

I have a theory that it's not specific killers people dislike, but the types of players those killers attract. For example, bubba is notorious for a certain playstyle regarding basements. SM is linked with the 3 gen strategy, which made her popular. PH is associated with tunneling because his cages make it easy. The same goes for certain survivors or cosmetics, like pink-haired neas or base-skin dwight.
I think Vecna is still too new to have a stereotypical playstyle associated with him. Of course, I'm not saying that not every player using a particular character will play in a specific way, but it happens often enough for stereotypes to form, leading to assumptions and negativity.
I agree with this, I said something similar to my friend in that "I can't hate Vecna because I haven't faced him on "even" ground yet, every time I've been against him its been on a small indoor map (which he chose to take us there with a map offering) so I can't get a gauge on how his powers feel in a match because he's on top of us before we get the chance to assess the situation, let alone touch a gen."
So yeah, I don't hate Vecna perse, I just hate the learning curve of the players who are picking him up because they want to see what he can do, but unfairly tip the scale in his favour by picking a small map.

Agreed, she looks like a low budget cos player... Not even taking into account how unpractical the costume is... Because high heels are totally needed when hunting humans...
Don't even get me started on her stupid sexy walk that makes her look like she's gliding across the ground instead of walking on it, like sure movement can look goofy as all hell in this game. E.G Trickster and Wesker's run animations look ridiculous, Wesker's even more so because of the 90's trenchcoat but they still look like they're a part of the environment, instead of like a badly modded character.

So back when I used to work on game balance for another game we had a character come out that was a cute cat. This cat was initially made to be super new player friendly and allow people with skill discrepancies to enjoy playing together more. abilities were basically impossible to mess up, but also not really a lot of special things you can do with it in terms of expressing skill. the character ended up becoming a nightmare to balance because of this and some other reasons, and basically ruined the game play at pretty much any level of gameplay. For awhile we updated the character with patches, nerfing and buffing various things in hopes to get the character in a better state. After about a couple years of literally nerfing or buffing the character she was in her most unhealthy state. As a team, we had to just bite the bullet and say, "hey, this one did not work out, we cannot balance them to be fun, enjoyable, or have counterplay." What we eventually did is nerf her so hard that they had the lowest winrate in history of the game of any character ever. She was literally the most unplayable guaranteed lose that I have every seen in a video game. She has been reworked some and today can get picked, but by no means is strong.
The reason we nerfed her to this point is in our opinion it was just a flat out failed design. Just a 0/10 design that cannot exist in the game, and needs to be so so so weak that nearly nobody picks her. This is what happened, nobody picked her and the character was largely forgotten.
Trickster is DBD's "Yuumi." There is not a way to balance trickster so that he is fair or fun for both sides. Trickster is either going to get bullied by his slow downs he gets with his knives, or get main event so fast its so oppressive that its impossible to lose with him. In my opinion, and frankly most of the communities, Trickster is just a garbage experience to play into or as. They have tried changing some numbers and things about trickster and really, both the killer side and survivor side pissed and moaned about it. This is just one of the killers that didn't work out. It was a bad design and BHVR should just nerf him to a place where he gets 0 gameplay until a full remaster/rework comes out that is 100% unrelated to the current iteration of trickster.
I was about to guess that you were talking about Yuumi from LoL, as a former Yuumi main, I agree. She's incredibly difficult to balance, especially since it just becomes a matter of whichever champion had Yuumi sitting on their shoulder would end up winning for their team. I.E she just sat on the tank/engage/bruiser and let them take all the kills, while sheilding and healing. Basically just handing a win to an overfed carry. Not to say that said carry was ever unstoppable, but seriosuly I still have nightmares about a Yuumi Samira duo who just wrecked my team in just over 25 minutes.
She's in a slightly better spot than she was, in that she's not a guaranteed win for whichever team she is on, but she is still incredibly strong in the right match-ups and can still be a pain to deal with.I do sadly have to agree with the bottom statement, Trickster feels good now that he moves so fast in that he can now cover ground and pressure gens a bit easier, but his throw-rate being fixed (or bugged), feels like absolute clunky/rubbish (yet they changed Huntress to be able to keep her move speed while holding her hatchet…) Like what's the point of being able to move fast if you can't use your power fast enough to pair with it? (Again, Huntress is allowed to do this, but I don't see her getting nerfed.) also 8 knives to injure feels like too damned many against a competaint team, but against a weaker team feels like over kill, this isn't even factoring in maps and other BS where there's a lot of LoS and clutter to just cuck his knives over.
But I agree, where and how can you change him to stay true to his OG design while also making him different. But not so different he may as well be a different character, personally, I'd be in favour of a partcial revert, but keep the changes to main event and the movement speed while making it 7 knives to injure/down. -
I've been getting this on my XBox controller a lot recently, I thought it was just my controller being janky, but seeing as other people are having some odd jank issues, I'm wondering if it's some kind of bug within Dead by Daylight. :-/

Just admit that you want to go back to a time when it was easy to bully the killer. Killers, especially M1 killers, are at a bit of a disadvantage right now due to the toolbox changes and the gen regression nerfs.
If you don't want to lose your items or have your aura read, just don't bring an item, simple. Killers are allowed to counter items, just as survivors are allowed to combat killer perks.

Rather odd isn't it, survs hate being slugged, but yet will try to remove a way that prevents slugging.
It is quite funny, most killer, including myself, try not to play in ways that will get them yelled at in the post-game, yet it's fine for survivors to be complete jackasses because its all "just a fun game, why u so mad bruh?" or "Why is the killer bringing Lightborn+Franklins?" Gee I wonder why…when a killer loads in sees 2-3 toolboxes a flashlight and possibly a medkit. and Survivors playing super altruistic/hookbombing because gens just fly by and the best regression perks were hit hard with the nerf bat. Their reasoning boiled down to 'They were used too much' or 'They were too easy to activate'.
Meanwhile, BHVR ignored all the survivor perks that are also "used too much" or are "too easy to activate" that you see a lot like Sprint Burst, Lithe, Adrenaline, etc.
As someone who plays Legion a lot, I see so many players who 99 their Sprintburst into Lythe while waiting for me to go into my power, it is extremely annoying that sprint burst is faster than feral frenzie.

how many times do you need to experience it before you realize it's some nonsense? like, i didn't use to face ftp buckle up all that much either so in practice it wasn't the end of the world but does that change the fact it still was ridiculous?
it doesn't require incredible set ups and is consistent, that should be more than enough.
Yep, just a little bit of coordination, even from SoloQ (if the teammates aren't newbs) and bombing the hook can result in a very good play from the survivors but annoying for the killer.
NGL, from my own experiences tonight, I can forsee slugging becoming more of an issue.
-
I ran into a boilover sabbo squad on Midwitch a couple of nights ago, it wasn't terrible to deal with as they didn't get much value out of boilover, but that didn't make it any less annoying to deal with.

I mean, certain perks are pretty obvious when you're playing. But yeah, hiding killer perks until the game over screen is needed, it helps keep things fair for everyone involved.
