I have played ghostface and only ghostface for the last few months and I can assure you his reveal mechanic works.. is it a bit buggy?.... what isn't buggy in this game?
-
I love the direction it can give me while playing and it does provide some sort of defense.... however the news that I have just read...... "regression stops while the gen is blocked" is absolutely awful.
Regression is like 1/4 of a second (I am just going with a round # it may be .28something) this means the gen has to regress around 4 seconds in order to take off a whopping 1 second....... so the most that would come off the gen is a whole 4 seconds of progress in the 16 seconds that TT is up... so 4 seconds if regression is taking place -----> every 60 seconds......
I love Thrilling Tremors as a perk and will continue to use it but the pause is unnecessary.
-
I would love it if the devs didnt make a new killer/survivor with the perks and map the chapter after next (because we know there is going to be the typical chapter this upcoming one) I'd rather them implement new items for survivors, focus down on map reworks, optimization for ps4 etc.. just overall TLC for what we have.

Stop jumping on the youtubers that are discussing the problems. It's not speculation. They are going to be hiding the MMR system from the players. That is never a good thing. If they were confident in their MMR system, they wouldn't hide it.
Right now we can see when the MM is broken, that will not be so once this gets implemented. If MM remains broken, there will be no way to show or even know when you are matched against higher skilled players that you shouldn't be. We already have yellow killers going against purple and red survivors (not even sure how that was allowed to happen). Those killers have a very bad experience, but at least there is some comfort in knowing that you are going up against much higher ranked players. It's still not fun, but it stings less. Now, imagine having that same bad experience and not knowing that you were going against much more skilled players.
Also, if the new MMR system is broken, and we can't see it, there will likely been even more talk of nerfs to one side or the other because the other side seems overpowered, when it is just the fact that you were going against better players.
Hiding this stuff is a bad idea.
I do agree with you, hiding the MMR when it comes out is a bit fishy. I can understand keeping it out of sight for now because it's an unfinished product and they have stuff to test... I am quite intrigued by this and hopefully they give us more info/details when the launch date nears.... idk how things will go if the community doesn't know how to rank up..... it'd be different for sure.
-
Maybe itll bring more survivors ๐ but now for killer only the few killers whom dont play with ruin will be mainly playing...
Devs have to tackle gens and make the objective interesting and feel not "rigged" as some may say..

They just didn't catch the bug yet, just like how they didn't catch the DS bug until the patch was released. Unless I'm mistaken they have never buffed or nerfed something intentionally and left it out of the patch notes.
I think the pallet teleport wasnt recorded.. I may be mistaking but pretty sure it came into the game and then became a feature for 6-7 months

It's not even that big of a problem. It's easily countered, just look more towards the hook and swing.
Quit complaining and learn to do stuff yourselves. I don't even bother with this "tech" as survivor because it's a trash "tech". It usually always ends up in me getting hit
"Just look at the hook and swing" ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
Me: "oh shiet the killer is on my left I better move right a bit so the hooked survivor takes the hit"
Well that wasnt hard to counter now was it?
-
I'll give this my best go... even though these are just bait.
Okay if you're referring to moving from gen to gen (the MS of the character) then Leather face does not have a slower MS, Oni does not have a slower MS either and Myers who has already been mentioned also does not have a slower MS (IMO the devs should tie T1 too the scratch mirror and have Mikey start out in T2 or something).... Now if you're talking about charging the chainsaw then you're also wrong about that as well, the devs did almost perfect when it came too designing Billy because you can barley tell that Billy does lose MS, he moves slower then a survivor ( I think it's 96% it's the percentage that LF should have) and it takes just over 2 seconds to charge the chainsaw (unless he's using addons) which is enough to make most windows or pallets when you're at a loop.
You stating "you can't run a killer forever", well that'the answer to how the game should be, unfortunately the game still has killers that we can still run for years do to their inability to do anything about chases and that is the category that billy is in... If you come across someone of equal skill level as yourself at the start of the match and you follow that person, you will get looped as BIlly.
Now am I saying Billy is low tier......NO... he still has the best map mobility in the game and with it he can catch players out of position, dead zones are actually dead zones.
yes Billy is balanced and arguably the most balanced in the game.

In the past 3-4 games I have not seen a survivor use a perk other than Unbreakable, Sprint Burst, BT, DS, Dead Hard, Adrenaline, Iron Will, Self Care, and Prove Thy Self. Its kinda ridiculous.
that is the meta at the moment and that is what we're going to see most times in the game then not. but that doesn't mean the perks that you listed are just mainly for fun, players can still make strong builds with them. the perks that you listed are not as upfront as the meta, they ask for more out of you as a player to get more use out of them.
-
the killer FOV isn't fun either but that fell off the list of improving even after they mentioned that they were looking into opening it up a bit.
-
head on is becoming more useful and is almost considered a bullying perk, Q&Q has always been really good, UE has never been bad, fixated is gaining in popularity since players starting to understand how to use it better, dance with me is good as well and can be devastating with Q&Q.... about the only perk here that is remotely in the "much worse perks" category is ace in the hole (I've never used it) and 2 of these perks (monitor & abuse and play with your food) are killer perks and are actually quite good atm.
-
@baron said:
Survivors complained when self care got nerfed. Were told to adapt. The no heal meta was born and adrenaline got chose more. They adapted.
Survivors got pallet amounts nerfed. They got told to adapt. Pallet looping grew into an even bigger meta.
Exhausion perks got....well.....exhausion.
Gen speeds were nerfed in the games first year by having 10 seconds added to completion at the same time hook sabo got nerfed. Tool boxes then got used mostly on gens. They adapted.
Something tells me killers will be and do just fine with the ruin changes. And no one that quits over it will be gone long. They rarely are.
I actually disagree with the part of players not leaving for long periods of time. I've recently picked up bloodborne again, it came out in like 2014 and since doing so I haven't played DBD for a few months now.. and this isn't because of the incoming ruin change this is because of the fact that the game has not changed at all... it's the same game it was years ago... chases, gens and escape. Yeah you can list stuff like
Pallet reduction
Loop changes
Map reworks and more
But the main part of the game has not changed at all and it needs too... survivor is boring when you get the hang of it and it often becomes the survivors responsibility to allow the game to last a bit longer since theres nothing else to do but gens.

@Acromio said:
Making the current effect a baseline mechanic.
I agree.
this version of ruin is not hex worthy..... if BHVR wants ruin to be a hex, they have to increase the regression.
implementing the idea of gens regressing would be really good for the game overall. BHVR could still allow killers too use POP the same way.
this mechanic being made base would help change the meta which will be nice.
No surveillance would not be op it would still be just good because if the killer wants a down they have to commit to a chase sometime, which will allow time to repair.
thrilling tremors will be better then it is now, which I am all for, I love that perk.
and the reward for pushing survivors off of gens is always there which is needed imo.
Another positive... without POP this removes the wasted time of kicking gens and removes the annoying "drive by tapping" where survivors spend lees then a second to stop the regressing gen that you spent 2seconds kicking... this would be brilliant for the game.
-
BHVR should implement like a duffel bag or a backpack into the game. It would be cool to have the ability to get multiple items in each match to build inventory much faster then we currently can.
-
It's not so much the killer being humanoid or not humanoid..... The devs need to do something with the objective gameplay. as it is now once you get the hang the game as a survivor generators become boring AF.... The devs need to take a break from creating new killers and make doing the objective interesting/fun.. or something else that slows down the pace of the game.
-
Before we talk about holding a strike again, can we first watch how the game plays in like less then an hour?
-

No, surge won't work if the gen is already regressing from survivor's leaving the gen. So basically only two that'll go well with it is surveillance and thrilling tremors.
these 2 will be an interesting combo for sure...
-
It is an awful experience... especially for certain killers like nurse, doc, demogorgon... the frame rate is terrible.. there has been improvement but not much....... the sensitivity is still terrible.... and yes when I play survivor I have to wait like 10 mins, when I play killer its insta lobbies.
-
Correct gen rush doesnt exist....
How bout we call it "poor objective design", that seems like a better way of saying it, yeah? Since that's what the gens are.

Honestly, it was a fun and interesting movie. If JJ Abrams had been in charge of The Last Jedi I think it would have even been a great movie and a solid new trilogy.
Rey and Kylo's arcs were great, C-3P0 actually got to be something besides comedic relief, and the Force was magical and a compelling part of the story for, like, the first time since the original trilogy.
The movie's biggest failing is that it comes after The Last Jedi. It has to do too much with too little time and it really shows in some parts (Palpatine and his whole faction seem forced in, parts of the movie feel a bit disjointed, the Knights of Ren do frick all, and the whole finale space fight feels rushed).
If you can get over the course correction at the beginning and are willing to accept the new characters, it's a worthwhile movie and easily better than the prequels.
Now I dont agree with you on Reys arc, it could have been way better especially with what we learn in this film..
I do agree with you that if JJ did the last jedi the series would have been way better.

I mean, static field and static burst work in completely different ways. They apply the same thing but how they work is being... reworked :^)
Freddy still puts people to sleep, and survivors can still wake up via skillchecks, so you could argue he just got updated too.
However this is a very petty semantic argument so we should stop lmao.
No freddy has a completely different power.. he has dream snares and teleports now... like what? Ofcourse sleeping is involved with freddy.
Doc is still tied to madness... theres a 60 second cooldown on his blast...... does it do the samething that his static field does currently? Yes.. it tiers survivors up in madness....

How are they both not reworks?
One's just a bigger rework than the other.
A rework is a completely different power...
Doc has the same power
Only difference is there is no longer going to be a passive madness increase whil in the TR.
No more switching modes.. this is an upgrade/update.
Tinkerer is another example of a rework.... it once worked with addons... it now does something completely different.. doctor does the samething essentially..

Yes it's the omega blink nurse one but since you know Zubat you will know how fast he can and does win games at times.
Doesn't matter if he is one of the best as even they will and do lose sometimes. It just shows that out of the games you probably watched you saw one ๐. Scott loses quite a lot and so does Tru3 but in terms of win ratio they are all far above the 50% ratio and I would say even 75% for these players.
It shows good players do well at the game.
Yes
Yes
But I also know how he feels about the other killers that are not spirit, billy, huntress the top of the list and that he always expects to lose when he plays any other killers and that's why he does the same rotation.
I understand that any good player will do well in a match... but that doesnt mean that the main objective doesnt need some TLC.

Of course I do and why I posted a more recent video with new Nurse as well ๐. I also said the same just a few posts back to someone else.
Sometimes it's better to read the whole thread ๐.
Oh? I'm going to have to find it then!.... is it of zubat again? Him playing the new omega blink nurse?
Either way dude... you're using one of the best players in DBD... and even then he loses to survivors when they wanna win... just yesterday he played a Billy match and depipped..
-
@twistedmonkey said:
It took 7m24s for the gens to be done That not really a gen rush TBH and a Nurse should do better at controlling the game but Swamp isnt the easiest with any killer. Also not everyone plays geat every game and mistakes do happen, The Nurse player could just be having one of those bad games.
Now look at this video from Zubat as a counter to your one.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZzzmNMkgyk
High rank play, Nurse no perks on road to rank 1 series.
You know this is old righ?....... as in no cooldown for nurse...... you ask zubat to play nurse right now and he'll do it for money but he says shes in a bad spot.. as in unfun AF.

Relax, not like the devs sit around and think of devious ways to screw over half their player base. Maybe, just maybe, they couldnt fix it in time to put it into this hotfix. At least we got a hotfix and don't gotta wait 2 more weeks so they can fix a couple more things. We'll get the fix for it when they fix it.
I dont blame players for being upset and calling out the devs.... last time audio issues like this were in the game (no footsteps, no pain noises etc....) they weren't fixed for nearly 8months.... it leaves questions.. everyone knows how important audio/sounds are in the game.
-
No, no, no..... now that a spider exists in a game..... bhvr is still the king on the block when it comes to this genre.... they need to do better then a spider.
And even then.. evolve did a spider and look what happened to that game.

I don't think that's quite right.
Tru3 is a very talented player. The problem is, he mixes his own ability with the Killer's power.
Otz is almost as talented, coming from a similar gaming background. Otz really gets the core of the game.
I have to agree with you. Otz is the one who really got me to look at the game in a different way then I used to and he pointed me into the direction of fungoose and I've been enjoying killer a lot more ever since.
But yes otz hit the nail on the head with this discussion.

Ugh. This new breed of DBD player. The whining is going to kill the game.
this is not whining LUL... I tossed out an idea that makes a mori possible every game but also removed most instances of getting farmed and sent out of the game because of a teammate that didn't run BT.
-
@Boss said:

That last bit honestly makes your idea a lot better to me.
The only problem i see is still the RNG.
You now mitigated it, but there's still that possibility.
Not that i'd personally care, but i'd wager that, because it's a very rare occurrence, you'll hear lots of complaints about it.
Y'know, like: "I thought this was supposed to balance Moris, but i still got killed 90 seconds into the game!"
I understand and after you stated that and thinking I have to agree with you.
What else could there be other then the RNG placement? I don't like RNG either so if there's anything that can come to mind I'm all ears :)
-
@Boss said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/909740#Comment_909740
It'd be harder...Or it'd be just as easy.
Your idea depends on map RNG.
Imagine you hooked someone and you stumble upon a skull by going back to your Generator patrol after hooking them.
Rare? Probably, but it'd happen.
Truuee.....
but at least it'd be a bit better then getting farmed infront of the killer without BT and sent packing to the lobby sim right?
this way the survivor has a bit of a chance to get to the loops and if they're good enough, they can force the killer to give up to pressure the gens or the killer can just tunnel for the mori.
here imo.. I don't think this is necessary but what if at base only 2 skulls can spawn in a match and then the offerings can then increas the count from there.
-
@Boss said:
Huh.
It would actually be a lot easier to get 1-2 kills per match this way.
I mean, it's not uncommon for me to stumble upon 2-3 Dull Totems per match as Killer myself.
I don't think it would be much easier since there is another hoop to jump through. The restriction of only being able to mori those who've been hooked is still in place. Also dying by mori is more fun then hooked anyways (unless it's within the 1st min)
-
@Objectively_speaking I agree with you. As I stated in the thread, this idea came to mind while writing up another thread so.
-
@The_Second_Coming Hooking someone right at the start of the match and then dying immediately because some arse decided to farm you is not fun. and then randomly finding a key in a match and escaping with 3 people and a few gens left is also not fun both of these things need balancing.
-
If it's the sound issue then it's not consistent either.... I got injured and as yui I was loud AF. After being healed then getting hit by FF I suddenly had IW affect until healed again. I have seen this only in legion matches.
-

This patch's thrill has worn off faster than usual.
None of the perks make me go "hey I could use that with X, Y, and Z and make a fun build" and all of the Oni's add ons are boring stat increases. I've played the killer, I know I don't find him enjoyable, and there's no special playstyles unlocked by add ons that make him more interesting. It feels like nothing of huge value was added to toy around with for me.
worn off real quick........ It's only been 3 days. I really hope the devs have something up their sleeve.

and his fedora stays on the whole way down....... it would be petrifying and funny.

It's such a waste, though; Legion has some awesome cosmetics. Let Clown be the sacrificial lamb; the only cosmetic of his I like is his Blight head. Quick, someone set up the altar, maybe it's not too late.
who knows maybe sacrificing Clown, legion will come out stronger. maybe having RHPF apply deep wounds, nerf the purple bleach addon a bit, and reduce his holding bottle MS by like 2% ..... yeah and after that, lets see what happens.
-
@HellDescent this is something that both sides would benefit from... this isn't a survivor thread, it's an idea to change up the gameplay from running in circles all the time.
