  • the counter play is not to be such a captain save-a-bro and just escape.

  • people who don't like tunneling or camping be the same ones who defend survivors for having loops and pallets they can run around for 5 minutes.

It's an OP strategy, so how about No. You didn't need to reply and dundundun, you should just get on with your game.

survivors can unhook right on front of the killer on some maps and have no repercussions except for maybe taking a hit. even if it's an open map, if the killer got trash aim then thats a long chase fr fr.

  • it might need just a little somethin somethin

I just don't think Freddy is worth complaining over. Ever since his nerf, I've seen like three. Even if I were to see him, I don't really care. Freddy normally equals boring matches, sure, but they're boring matches I usually survive. I think Freddy is far from broken. Easy to use, sure, but not really broken anymore. I swear his snares don't do anything half the time.

I would love for him to get a rework, but it'll never happen. Not for a long time.

    feel ya with those snares.

Yeah, so that's tunneling. You're INTENTIONALLY going after the unhooked person right after they got unhooked in order to get an easy kill. It's a super douchey thing to do and if you're only doing it because it's easy that means you suck at playing killer. Learn how to chase, mind game, juggle, and how to create a synergistic perk build and play to your build.

Nothing is more pathetic than a killer who acts cocky from camping and tunneling.

just last night, this dwight wanted to try and body block for this other mans. i said "if you want my attention, i'm gonna give it to ya" in my head. so i did tunnel him if i found him, when i hooked him, i just left and looked for someone else. if he got unhooked right back at it if i had the chance. that's tunneling sure.

but if the killer has a chance to go back to the hook and catch those survivors, it's not tunneling just because he sees the injured survivor. i've ran back to the hook saw 2 different trails and just followed one. not my fault if i followed the unhooked. even if i saw the unhooked one, if there the easier one to get to, don;t call me a tunneler cause you couldn't get farther away like the guy who unhooked you.

that's why i be saying it's situational whether its tunneling or not. you can "tunnel". but that doesn't mean you were going after that specific person.

i mean dog, someone called me trash cause he ran into the basement and hid in a locker during a chase and really had the gall to say that was my fault. then when his teammate unhooked him as im walking away, he comes up first off of bt, gets whipped and downed by a zombie and right back to the hook. really tried to say i was sniping him...(he was streaming, but i wasnt sniping, he just salty).

the whole insta grab was a terrible mechanic...really infuriating.

  • i get what you mean, but someone who has been a way and is rusty wouldn't have it fair being a red rank still and not being able to get back into the groove.

    still valid though

  • i do like to say no matter what survivors says. decisive strike is an encouraging tunneling perk. because in the end, it will punish the killer later for sure.

  • people be really putting down killer sided ideas just cause they want games handed to them. smh.

Yeah a lot of times killers accidentally tunnel but it's still technically considered tunneling. That's just what the term is to me.

i kinda think tunneling and chasing are separate things man. i don't feel the need to call chasing a survivor tunneling. there's that certain context you get that can differentiates the two. just like camping.

  • i agree with a dedicated hex spot and here are some reasons.

    • some hexes are not very strong or good. a lot of em would likely not effect games anyway.
    • some hexes could stay as normal perks. ex. thrill, noed, undying. it does help the whole hex support perks for other hexes area.
    • if you think about, it doesn't tip the scales too much. plus, hexes are more utility than power...not all of them provide hit ability.

there are probably some other points, but that does seem like a pretty neato idea.

i mean maybe even re class some perks as hexes just to add killer utility like lethal pursuer..now you don;t need to use a perk slot it.

Im fine with the zombies being inconsistent however their AI could use some adjustments.

    1. They should not get stuck on objects that easily.

2.Their audio should not just cut off around corners. Too many times I've ran into one making no noise.

    3. They should not be able to enter the basement no matter what.

    4. They should not be able to approach a hooked survivor. (Especially when the Nemesis tries to trap them right next to the hook making saving nearly impossible)

come on you cant blame the zombies when its the survivors fault their over there.

  • as i killer i did like moris in the past, but i don't want to use them now since they hold no benefit to me. i see them as time wasters and i don't care much for the animation that plays.

as for keys. i don't mind keys as killer. recently i had a game where 3 survivors got out after i killed the 1st one. right front of me after i hooked him. i think 3 gens were repaired. i cant remember all that though.

it's just that keys as of right now are still stronger than moris and give better benefits for using them.

  • people must not know that some killers really gotta either waste time on a loop or let that survivor go. smh.

  • i dont think its that uncommon to see other exhaustion perks being used, but any change in my eyes would either have little effect, make them useless, or completely overpowered.

Me agreeing that the tactic isn't fun is not the same as whether or not it is a justified action for a player to take.

you agreed that it is frustrating and unfun and you hate it when it happens to you or others, but you will not say it is "too much" despite that being the definition all because the devs say it is not?

just because the devs make the game and the rules and say it's fair game...doesn't mean that the community and players cant also decide what things are "too much" to bear. there are a lot of things that have been "too much" in the past that have been changed.

  • my mans trynna defend how op survivors are on reminding us how much more op they were op in the past.

  • @Huge_Bush said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2335045#Comment_2335045

There are several things in the game that I hate that the Devs allow. An action that is taken within the parameters set by the devs is never "too much". That is just your opinion, not a fact, nor is it an injustice towards the player it is being perpetuated upon.

I put up with it because other aspects of the game are still enjoyable to me and it doesn't happen anywhere near as often as people on the forums claim it does. If it does start to become intolerable for me, I'll simply stop playing the game. I may make a request that the developers consider changing something, but I am under no delusion that they have to listen to me.

I don't set the rules or run Behavior so I have no say in what is right or wrong with the game. I can just make my own personal choice on what to do and not take it out on other people for choosing to play a play-style that is sanctioned by the games creators.

so even if you agree....you can't because the devs say it isn't...gotcha chief.

  • the midwich games ive played as killer recently, can confirm they did not go into the basement. they were quite active

I disagree. I can agree that is is unfun and frustrating, I hate it when it happens to me as much as anyone else would, when it happens at 5 gens, but "too much" can only be defined by the Developers.

Until the Devs come out and say camping is wrong at 5 gens, it is fair game. It sucks, but it is fair until they introduce new rules or mechanics to stop it.

how can you hate it if the devs say its okay? wouldn't hating it and then being part of it be an intolerable, impossible, or exhausting situation or experience? which is what "too much" is defined as...

  • @Huge_Bush said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2334945#Comment_2334945

Why doesn't securing a kill justify camping?

It is only frowned upon because it isn't fun for the camped survivor, not because it is the easy route.

I am not twisting anything, you are.

    Definition of Justified:

    adjective

    adjective: justified

    1.

having, done for, or marked by a good or legitimate reason.

Securing a kill early in the match is a legitimate reason for the killer to camp. That is a fact. You aren't thinking with facts, you're thinking with emotions.

i mean i guess i can understand that it can be justified since getting a early kill is a legitimate reason to do it.

    but

in the name of the title, i think we can all agree that face camping at the start is too much when it comes too "when is too much".

  • @Sadsnacks said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2334962#Comment_2334962

Id say yes. If youre in that scenario its more efficient to continue patrolling the area youre already in. Walking to the other side of the map can take up to 25 seconds, by the time you walk all the way back and find the unhooked survivor a gen could have gotten done on the side of the map you abandoned to go back to the hook assuming two survivors are working on a gen in that area.

If you did walk all the way back and your intention was to find the unhooked survivor and down them again then thats definitely tunneling.

If youre having trouble finding survivors to chase after hooking someone you should use bbq.

but if i find that unhooked survivor first or if i see they are the easiest to get to whether or not they are injured or healed. it wouldn't be tunneling at that point though right? you've moved away from them and just so happen to have come back due to them being unhooked.

i mean i can almost assure you, if i ate there ds, there getting downed again fr fr.

i may not have the intention too, but if it happens and i see them...all bets are off right?

and you sound like someone that dont play killer a lot

if you knew there was a surv nearby and are moving around to find them, you could defend that, but if you can't find them and still stay on that hooked surv, then your just straight camping at that point. leave then let em unhook and down em again.

but if the survs keep giving you line of sight of them or keep running toward the hook, free of charge camping.

all bets are off after that 5th gen is complete doe. full on camping , not even toxic at that point.

  • your just adding insult to injury at that point.

  • the zombies are not very strong nor have an unnerving presence.

but in scenarios they will prove their worth. just like any perk.

one of the obvious things is, if the survs play in an area with zombies, then they will have more of an impact and potentially get the survivor.

it's small value, but value nonetheless

  • @gendoss said:

I typically consider tunneling hooking the same guy multiple times in a row.

Camping for me is literally sitting in front of the hook. There is also proxy camping which is staying near the hook but not right in front of it.

say i, the killer, go across map and come back after their unhooked? is going after the injured (if they weren't healed) survivor tunneling still?

  • i don't know about you guys, but i dislike when gens are on different elevations like on second floors or basements.

  • @SMitchell8 said:

Toxic players are good players, they have skill to back up there arrogance and assertiveness. How many times you do you rrally catch the annoying survivor out of the 4? Me, barely ever.

    very often for me.

it's just that sometimes you whiff your hit for no reason, not even because of what the survivor does, it just happens. i've rarely seen toxic survivors know what their actually doing.

  • start of the game.

if you see a killer who is just camping after their first down and so on for no reason..that's pretty stupid.

otherwise it's just gonna be mainly situational based on what the survs do.

but survivors still gonna say "you should let us unhook him after the doors are opened or 99'd so we can escape. so stop camping!"

  • generators don't need to be blocked per say, but being killer and having a gen pop in your face when you cross the map is stupid.

and noed just punishes people for not escaping when they can.

  • i don't understand a word of what mans lat said bro.

  • that would make the game unbearable. at that point, the killer is going to punish themselves for doing there objective. which leads to slugging anyways...so....yeah

  • in the end, no killer can attack or chase multiple survivor

  • you had me until you started you said "this is how the trial should go".

but seriously. it doesnt matter what level your or the survivors are because the loops and pallets will waste your time no matter what. so even if your like the best...it doesnt matter in the slightest.

  • i've used ricochet, didn't like it, just felt wrong. decided to give it another try, felt the same. i definitely don't want it base kit.

  • i wish. way i see it, it's useless to damage a generator unless you have a perk like pop. so even if the generator had more regression. anything would be nice,

  • the protected survivor gaining endurance

    • unless they give you the hit, it is unlikely the killer can catch back up to them before the duration ends.

if you are put into the dying state

    • they are given endurance for at least 32 seconds. that's a little too powerful.
    • you fully recover automatically in 32 seconds. i kinda wanna say you can't be recovered by normal means, but idk.
    • this possibly gives a free ds to survivors.
    • ex. they get unhooked, and you injure the rescuer. they body block their rescuer and get downed, you pick them up, but get ds'd. so ds should be deactivated when this perk is active. (i think thats fair).

    conclusion:

the change in theory could, be good, but does have the ability to be too powerful with no real repercussion, especially since there' no prerequisite. i think reworking the perk to stay within it's original foundation is better. so to help with recovery.

  • @DBK1 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/262834/bodyblocking

So your only issue is not being able to interact with objects (the hook) due to body blocking? Sounds good. Then Wraith shouldn't be able to block windows or pallets either then?

the issue is not being able to complete do the main thing your supposed to do.

  • for anyone who said ds, they want games handed to them.

    anyway:

    • KILLERS: pop goes the weasel: killer needs basekit to be able to have instant regression to generators. obviously very diminished.
    • SURVIVORS: none. they have enough utility as is. but i dont play survivor as much anymore so i could be biased in that regard.

If the killer isn’t forced to hit them then it doesn’t matter. They could just get the hook since most are in the open where bodyblocking on his way won’t work

but as long they can stand underneath it, it will happen, which is like...every hook..basically. and so the killer is forced to hit them away. with the change no more pressure on hoping u get the hook after so much distraction
