It was asked before why they didn't do something like this, They said they felt it was 'unfun' for survivors to have action speed penalties. π
-
Oh it's definitively stronger when used right.
End game it's very strong, a full minute of the hook when the gens are completed is a huge amount of time to have immunity. Combine that with borrowed time or Mettle of Man and you've got yourself a free escape plus Now It can be used by all 4 survivors.

PC
Might get the switch version depends on how it runs, I don't have high hopes for it tho. I also don't have the time to grind out all my Killers and Perks again so I don't know....

There are people in this world that take PokemonGo seriously. I do not play PokemonGo. I do not share their enthusiasm.
I believe too many, not the majority, players take DBD too seriously. As I said earlier...the game allows for lag switching...and some serious players will take advantage of this. The game allows for DCing, and some players will take advantage of this.
I do neither, and in 6 minutes I get another try. I just keep swimming.
Yes but just because problems can be ignored doesn't mean they should be.
Something like DCing ruins the game experience for other players who want to have a fair game, It'd be fine to turn a blind eye if it didn't but the actions the person DCing has a negative effect on the game for everybody else.
Maybe if there was a Casual mode you could ignore it but until then I still think DCing should have stronger penalties.

What's the big deal about players who DC? I promise, I'm not being willfully ignorant or obtuse. I just don't understand what impact a bunch of crybaby snowflakes have on the game when they DC.
Of what consequence is it?
The Impact it has Depends on who it is and when they DC, but generally it ruins the trial for the remaining people.
If a Survivor goes down in the first minute of a match and gets salty and DCs then they end up screwing over the rest of the team and make it a 3v1 with 5 generators. If a Killer DCs it's over for everybody and a big waste of time.
When you have these kinds of games back to back because of how often DCs occur whether intentional or not It kills your will to play, at least for me.
-
Powered attacks don't work on MoM, Says so in the perk description.
The Last thing this perk needs is a buff.
-
Evading bans yet again, If they really want him gone from the community they should flag his videos. Hit him where it hurts because obviously he doesn't care about the bans.
-
Just looking at a few games of your own or even by some streamers you see the state the game is in, It's not good. The Game is going downhill.
To address your points,
- There's a huge DC problem where people will just leave the game if it's not going their way or The game will kick them randomly or while their loading in, All of these are a big problem. People who DC need more penalties and the unintentional DCs need to be fixed fast, It's gone on way too long.
- Balance is having a Fair game between all those involved. The game was going in a good direction until they released MoM and proved yet again they have no idea how to balance their own game. The Devs are notoriously slow at fixes and balancing issues, If they want to retain the players left something needs to change and things need to speed up. It shouldn't have taken 2 whole years for a DS Rework, SWF Should have been balanced by now or at least bridged the solo and SWF Gap, The coldwind walls could have been fixed in a matter of days but they've yet to be addressed and Freddy should have been reworked already.
- The Health of the game is far from Solid, Players are leaving. The steam charts show that even a Full Chapter, a licensed DLC and a Free weekend can't up the average daily players that's still continuing to drop. That's incredibly worrying.
- I do agree that the health of the community is questionable, Toxic behavior sadly is and always has been a part of DBD. There's also the huge divide between Killers and survivors.
-
Matchmaking hasn't been the best lately, It's gotten better to what it was a few weeks ago where you'd have rank 15s go against a rank 1 killer and vice versa.
The Pipping system probably messed with a lot of peoples ranks too, People who should be red have been stuck in purple but they changed that today so we'll so how it works out.
The pre reverted match making changes made it clear that they want quicker que times. This usually will come at a cost of having killers and survivors being in the same rank range.
-
She's not a terrible killer, She's decent but something i realized when the initial fun of a new killer wore off is that she just isn't that fun to play as, for me at least.
She's not exactly viable in red ranks either in my opinion, maybe a slight buff to her could push her from mid tier to high tier and get people to play her but knowing the Devs that'll probably take a year or so.
-
Because the Devs actively chose to not make other killers viable.
Honestly, It's a such a waste of Killers. You'd think they'd want high ranks filled with a variety of killers to keep people interested in the game but no, Not only do you have to do the same tasks over and over you have to face the same few killers majority of the time which just gets stale.
-
Yeah sadly for some strange reason the Devs have said they Don't make killers to be viable. This leads to like you said, Nurses and Hillbillys flooding the high rank games and the other killers going to waste because they just can't put up as much of a fight.
It's always been a decision I really question, It just doesn't make any sense to me and I'd love to know the reasoning behind it.
-
Sounds are usually broken and Chase music is so loud it drowns out any that are working, I wouldn't rely on sounds if I were you.
Also If a survivor is behind an object their sounds get muffled and quietened quite a lot.
-
I Never Face camp but you know I'm going to do laps around the hook once those gates are open, There's not a single reason to leave in that scenario.
-
Dbd is the kind of game to have a slow long death but yes If things don't change and the devs don't get better at fixing issues faster it's just going to continue to drive the player base away.
Just look at the past few weeks, There was a Full Chapter, a Licensed DLC Character and a Free weekend but None of that manage to build numbers, Sure there was a higher peak in players from the previous month but lower than what you would expect. Average players percentage is still Dropping and it's the lowest it's been in almost a year.
The Devs are Notoriously slow at fixes Freddy, The Coldwind walls, Loading screen DCs and DS rework to name a few. It needs to change whether that be hiring more staff to tackle the issues or whatever, something needs to be done.
-
I wouldn't refund any but again I only ever buy DLCs that I know I'll enjoy like Spirit. Leatherface was worth it just because BBQ never shows in the shrine, I don't play him but it was worth it for the perk.
Doc is one that I bought for the Killer but simply don't play anymore just because of how weak he is so if I had to maybe I'd choose him.
-
There's no way to tell the phobia is real though. People could claim they have a phobia to avoid playing against a killer they don't like, for instance you don't like facing nurse or doc you could claim you have Iatrophobia.
My only suggestion is if you do have a Phobia that the killer triggers, die on hook or if it's really bad Go to a vault or lokcer, spam a notification and minimize the window. This way you essentially are leaving the game by killing yourself but in a way that avoids a DC Ban but also not as bad as a dc on your team since it'll buy them some time to do gens and keep the killer busy.
-
It's a Passive insta heal with a speed boost that happens automatically when you should be going down, It's incredibly OP.
I don't understand how anyone could think otherwise unless they are not familiar with the game.

I'll repeat it. Devs know what they launch before launching it. There are two or three perks in the game files that never cane out. Inagine why
Yes of course they know, Are you suggesting there's a counter of some kind in the game that hasn't been released?
Even if that was the case, As the game is now that Perk is way to Powerful unless they released a counter very soon which I highly doubt will happen since Most likely the next perks to come to the game will be in the next chapter which is a long time away.

The issue I have is that is that I tried to make killers mains see survivors can have their own good perks and there shouldn't be any problem with that. At first I was angry with the DS nerf, but then recognised that devs know they make everything with a reason, and so the killer mains should see it.
I completely agree that Survivors should have good perks, Both sides should. But the problem with this perk is that It's just too strong to not have a Bigger drawback or Prerequisite or even a single counter. It's unbalanced and that's what has most people upset.

I didn't say in any moment that it is not op. Don't invent your aguments. I said that it is useful for survivor
So you agree that it's OP but have an Issue with people sharing their negative feedback of it? How else do you express your disapproval of a perk?
-
Like between survivors only? I don't see why not. They could just tell which perks they have already in chat so It'd be a nice feature i guess. Plus It would probably lead to stronger team plays when it comes to solo.
-
To be fair NOED can become a crutch since most survivors refuse to take out dull totems so It will most likely proc most games. Any Strong perk can become a crutch but there's nothing wrong in using one.
Survivors give NOED the Strength to be a crutch, It should be a gamble perk but majority of the time it's a guarantee.
-
I'm sorry but anyone who defends this perk and says it's not OP either doesn't understand the game or is willfully ignorant.
By the way, Next time you try to prove a point maybe come up with some logical explanations, This post come across like an angry 12 year old. It's not about 'Angry Killer Mains' It's about overall balance of the game to keep it fun for everybody.
-
I try to ignore toxic behavior, Usually the people doing it want a reaction so I don't give them one and play normally.
It's sad that toxicty is so prevalent in this game.
-
I wish I could say it's surprising but the game has been in an awful state lately and the past few months the good things have not out weighed the bad.
When A New Chapter, a Licensed DLC and a Free weekend all so close to each other only pull in the numbers we see now It's time to worry. Some big changes need to happen and fast.

So Pig's dash attack for example? Because I did not gain a token from it.
I'd assume so unless their picking and choosing what counts as a basic attack and what doesn't.

Read my above post
Ah right I see, Yeah sadly I don't think there's a way to show the killer before the trial without it braking the game.
Maybe some more DC penalty's would discourage people from DCing from killers they don't like to face.
-
That's the only logical explanation I can think of too, A way to sell Ash.
They can't be THIS bad at balancing their own game.

i'm actually surprised of this outrage.
dead hard can be activated multiple times. make you reach vaults/pallets you wouldn't have reached. and save your life from 100% hits. while MoM requires 3 hits. activate only once. and gives the aura reading thing and they both require you to be injured
also MoM can benefit killers who run remember me a bit.
because of this reason. i don't think MoM will get nerfed. if it gets a nerf. it would be a small one.
It gives one of the best chances a survivor has, A Free hit. It gives you distance, and slows the killer down to wipe their weapon, all when you should be going down. The Payoff is greater than a Styptic agent and can be used every trial.
The whole set up for MoM is something that happens naturally during the trial so their is no set up required from the survivor and timing is automatic on the hit unlike dead hard where there's room to counter. The perk has 0 actual game play counters.
The Aura reading isn't that big of a drawback especially for people who like to run the killer, But even then survivors can 99% themselves and just tap to heal once they see the killer making the aura reading even less of a threat.
All this with the fact that it can work alongside other second chance perks and Multiple survivors can use it in the trial and you get one of the worst designed perks ever.
-
It's her blink hits that are bugged, supposedly they are meant to give a token even though they aren't basic attacks but I guess their idea of basic attack is any M1.
Which by logic means that any attack out of a power will give a token like Spirit's Grudge or wraith's surprise attack. That makes it so that only killers with an M2 attack have a way around the perk, which is completely busted.
Seriously, What went trough their heads when they thought up a perk like this.....

@CornChip said:
First of all that is an insult.. I'm not saying that survivors should see everything a killer has.. I am merely trying to show that survivors do not have the option to lobby dodge.
They have to play what they face.. Killers do not.
Unfair? Yes
Yes there are perks that negate killers powers. There are also perks that negate survivors items. Fair that one can plan accordingly and the other can't? No
Should survivors be able to see the name of the killer to avoid the ones that purposely play toxic like killers can do to survivors? I think yes.
Should survivors have an option to lobby dodge or opt out of playing a killer they don't want to verse like legion or nurse by having an option to? I don't know.. It would definately bring down the dc rate though.
Btw saying git gud and playing survivor is very easy and spewing out some numbers of game times because you are a bad killer are not valid points.
If survivors could see which killer they were facing it'd skew the game in their favor immensely. Most Killers have a survivor perk that counters their Powers to some extent.
The most a killer can get from seeing the survivors is knowing what Type of items they have, That's it. If you think Franklin's or lightborn give the killer an unfair advantage I don't know what to tell you.
-
There is a solution tho, Harsher punishments for Intentional DC's. Devs need to acknowledge that their rules around DCs are so loose that people don't care.
-
Face camping is the only form of camping that truly ruins the game.
I swear camping has broadened to just being in the map while a survivors on the hook. Patrolling the hook and surrounding gens isn't camping, especially if the killer knows people are going in for the save.
As for end game, It's so survivor sided that Camping the hook is literally the only way to secure a kill. With all these second chance perks you can't risk letting that survivor off the hook. Also what would be the point of leaving the hook to just watch the survivors tbag at the exit gates while someone saves?
-
Sure some killers could work around it with an M2 but There's no actual game play counter to it like there is for everything else.
I really want to know who designed this perk and thought it was balanced π
-
Ruin is fine as it is, It's the totems that need to be fixed. It doesn't matter if the perk gave no gen progression at all if it's gone in the first 20 seconds of the game.

25,000 currently playing on PC... I donβt see no decline.
Free weekend gave it an increase like it usually does. It was at 14k before, The numbers were probably one of the reasons why they put out a free weekend. Let's see how the next few days go.
Even with the boost tho the Average players is still the lowest it's been since May 2018.
-
I doubt anytime soon. It'd be nice to see some of the weaker killers become viable at higher ranks and give the game some much needed variety in the trials but to quote the Devs they 'Don't make Killers to be Viable'.
-
SWF throws any kind of balance out the window, Them alone without this perk can easily track the killer majority of the game.
Object of obsession is brutal on a SWF and should get a rework to be honest, It sucks for solo players who use this perk but until somethings done about the imbalances SWF Brings I don't see another solution.
-
You'd think this would have been practice from the get go.
People who promote the game should follow the rules, But as it stands now you have people actively encouraging DCing and Deranking which by association and lack of any penalty for doing this makes it seem like BHVR is okay with this kind of game play.

But that doesn't stop their communities, who don't play that many games, from doing it. They are teaching this behavior. And your community has sent ya'll vids of people like Jendenise and Ochido d/cing, and other bannable offenses. There's even a clip on THESE FORUMS, of Jendenise talking ######### about her dcing, saying things like "good luck getting me banned, i don't care. i'm d/cing to lose rank." Hell they do it often on their stream.
You are letting this happen, and it's making the state of your game #########. You can pretend you aren't looking the other way, but your statement pretty much sums it up. You know, but they play so many games it doesn't matter.
It does matter. It matters when players start d/cing against killers they don't like, when killers d/c hard games, and when your playerbase is STILL DROPPING for the 3rd month in a row, and you've already lost the last years worth of growth.
I Couldn't agree more, If anything fog whisperes should be put on stricter limitations than the rest of the community not get away with it Just because they play more games.
These people who Promote and actively Derank / DC show to the thousands of viewers watching that It's okay to play like that, and it's not. Just look at the state the game is in right now in terms of DCs and there's still people supported by BHVR that push DCing.
How can someone say they DC and derank but still remain part of the fog whisperers? It's ridiculous.
-
I don't mean to sound harsh but I've given up on the Devs. I'm disappointed in their decisions and frankly just Tired and fed up with how they handle things.
I'll never bash on them but People should be free to express their concerns especially in a game like this were balance is important.
-
Hmmm I doubt that. Maybe third seal and lullaby could be regular perks but Devour hope and NOED would never be full perks, the pay off is too strong.
-
I see it as people expressing their frustrations with the game and letting the Devs know exactly why they chose to make that decision.
Better than them leaving and the Devs having to wonder why the playerbase is declining like it is.
-
It gives one of the best chances a survivor has, A Free hit. This gives you distance, slows the killer down all when you should be going on the floor. The Payoff is greater than a Styptic agent and can be used every trial.
The 'setup' is something that happens naturally trough the game which makes the perk require 0 skill and timing is automatic on the hit unlike dead hard where there's room to counter. The perk has 0 actual game play counters since only killers with an M2 can avoid.
Combine all this to the fact that it can work alongside other second chance perks and Multiple survivors can use it in the trial and you get one of the worst designed perks ever.
The perk is a complete mess and I can't believe the Devs thought it was balanced enough to go live.
-
I feel like for most Killers it's a matter of how many gens are left. In the beginning you have the time to play fair but as gens keep going off you realize if you keep playing by these 'rules' of no patrolling or no tunneling that you are actively sabotaging yourself for the benefit of the opposing team.
Tunnelling sucks yes but for killers it's probably the smartest move to get someone out of the game fast. As for camping, patrolling the hook when you suspect someone is around is perfectly fine and nobody should be put down for it, So many people scream 'camping killer!!' when in fact they themselves are the one getting ready for the save and the killer knows it.
End Game both patrolling the hook and tunneling become fair game to me, There's no way a killer should leave the hook to go watch survivors at the exit gates while the other person is saved. There's just no reason to leave.
Face camping is one thing that is just plain stupid and takes the fun out of the game.
-
It's not just Mettle of Man that's made me give up though, I really do love this game but there's so many other things that Have multiple feedback and suggestions to help make the game better but have yet to be addressed.
MoM was just the straw that broke the camels back and made me realize the game had become unfun for me.
-
I think Billy will be fine when his add ons are reworked, they said that his charge ups are getting nerfed I think so no more revving behind someone to down them.
I just hope for the sake of variety in this game they don't stop with nerfing Nurse and Hillbilly but they Buff the weaker killers. The game could be so much more fun if all killers where on the same level and could take on red ranks.
-
Nobody should have bought Ash just for MoM. Anyone could have told you that it is going to get nerfed even before it came out.
If I was a conspiracy theorist I'd say that MoM was purposefully made to be OP to be a selling point for Ash even though they knew they'd need to nerf it... But I'm not π
-
Bye for now!
Thank you for posting a thread expressing the concerns that drove you to leaving the game, Don't mind anyone who makes fun of you for posting this thread.
The Devs need to know why people are leaving and you stating why is a lot better then just leaving and them having to wonder why.
