The Steam Chart Tells no Lies

It kinda obvious that the quality of Dead by Daylight has deteriorated so much that even two DLCs and a free weekend cannot reach the player numbers that the game enjoyed pre-Legion last December.

An ongoing analysis of Steam's player numbers, seeing what's been played the most.

Legion started the downfall and the developers incapability to solve any issues, that have finally caught up with them, has caused a massive loss of active players.

@not_Queen has been mentioning that there'll come information soon regarding the whole situation but seriously.. it's probably just going to be more corporate pr speech that'll focus on insuring the playerbase that everything's fiiiine.

  • It wasn't Legion alone tho. Sure, Legion is considered as the worst killer (fun wise, not tier wise) added to DbD and had his impact for that. But the loading screen bug by itself is another big reason. I by myself for example stop playing if I get 3 Infinite loading screens for that day.

And I think that Legion and the bugs reached the boiling point for a lot of people with all the other issues.

Welcome to the real world, this is normal. This is the life of a business. One minute the stock mark is up and the next minute is down.

It’s not the end of the world for the devs. Everything not always going to be perfect. You never know the game could reach its highest peak ever or it just completely. Anything is bound to happen. As of now only thing players can do is either...

    A. Stop playing the game

    B. Continue playing and have patience

    C. Complain/Leave feedback

    D. All of the above (somehow)

Meanwhile the devs are absorbing the positive and negative energy to fix this game. I am pretty sure they are tired of the same issues but yet they are still dealing with it.

    Patience is key

  • I wish I could say it's surprising but the game has been in an awful state lately and the past few months the good things have not out weighed the bad.

When A New Chapter, a Licensed DLC and a Free weekend all so close to each other only pull in the numbers we see now It's time to worry. Some big changes need to happen and fast.
