Iri Head has one of the strongest effects in the game, other add ons are just better though. Oak haft is almost as good as an instadown without the downside of losing 6 hatchets.
Strong but incredibly boring for both sides which is why I think it’s awful. The most fun about her is throwing hatchets and both Ultra Rares incentivize not really throwing any at all. Very weird.

I would like for people to showcase exactly where Balanced Landing creates actual infinites, with a killer trying to catch them. Even a pure M1 killer, no chase ability. You take a friend, go into a custom match, and it should be easy to demonstrate, doesn't take more than 5-10 minutes out of your day.
I'm not saying there doesn't exist at least one such setup, nor am I saying bugged BL is fine if it doesn't create literal infinites, but I just don't enjoy how posters on these forums always claim things without backing them up one bit. The general spirit is one of a lot of yappening and not a lot of happening.
These days, with most elevated vaults having openings close by, as well as today's Bloodlust and Entity Blocker specifics, I struggle to see what could possibly make for an actual infinite. And again, that's not even talking about all the killer abilities that would completely negate that anyway. Maybe Saloon main building, and perhaps some path around Disturbed Ward's main that uses the holes in the upper floor? But then you also need to account for the ability to keep out of chase state.
But to stress this again: BL doesn't need to create a situation where a killer (and even if it's only one without a potent chase ability) literally cannot catch a survivor to be problematic. It suffices if it makes a bunch of setups stronger than is reasonable, which I do think is the case. I don't think the perk in its current bugged state is nearly as gamebreaking as it is being made out to, I in fact do not believe it is gamebreaking at all. But something doesn't have to literally break a game to be problematic.
The fix for this should be incredibly easy for BHVR to implement, but if they really cannot do so within the week, sure, killswitch it. Although they for some strange reason are awfully reluctant to engage their killswitch, despite it being designed for precisely such cases. It's as if using it takes more effort than they're willing to exert too, which would make it a flawed implementation.
Anyway, I will use this opportunity and post to talk about Balanced Landing in general, and its need for a buff:
Exhaustion perks are always competing for slots with other Exhaustion perks because they cannot be used alongside one another effectively or at all. This means that if some of them are (more or less) objectively worse than others, they are objectively not worth using because you'd obviously want to just use those others instead.
BL suffers from this issue, and arguably more so than any of the other Exhaustion perks. For starters, it is more conditional than all of the others, because the ability to activate the perk at all depends on the map, and the opportunities to fall off an appropriately steep height are limited on most maps, with some maps barely having any opportunities at all. Compare this to Lithe or Smash Hit, the next-most conditional Exhaustion perks, yet still infinitely more accessible than BL. This not only makes it much less reliable in chases, it also further limits the ability to get value from the perk in other game situations, be it just to traverse distances a bit faster or to set up for rescue plays and such.
Then there's the fact that BL is more telegraphed than any of the other Exhaustion perks, because you regularly have to run to places a survivor would have no business running to in a chase if they weren't using BL. This opens up counterplay opportunities for the killer where they can try and zone or intercept the BL, undermining its impact.
Next, there's the fact that BL doesn't even reduce the stagger by 100% - there's still a bit of stagger left (25%) and this eats into its 3-second, 150% sprint, reducing the distance you make with it in a way no other Exhaustion perk suffers from. It also allows killers to often hit the survivor during the stagger still.
In the case of Smash Hit BHVR made the concession to increase its sprint duration to account for the time you spend locked into the pallet drop animation. And then they also reduced its Exhaustion timer as a concession to its conditional trigger. BL on the other hand got none of these concessions, it's a dated design that should have long been reconsidered on.
I would go further and say Exhaustion perks in general show signs of age and given their almost incomparable impact potential on the game of DbD as well as their unique trait of being in contention with one another, a more holistic overhaul would be appropriate, or at least an overall rebalancing.
Another thing of pertinence here is that BHVR around a year and a half ago (again) removed the ability to vault windows and pallets during fall stagger. While that was a fairly reasonable adjustment (albeit there could have been other, perhaps better solutions), what wasn't reasonable was them - in what I assume was a ham-handed bandaid fix - alongside this adjustment also removing the ability to do much of anything else during fall stagger, including healing, unhooking, jumping into hatch, and on. This was an undocumented and wholly uncalled-for shadow nerf that is relevant more often than you'd think. And again, I don't think this was even intended or deemed beneficial, I think it was simply that BHVR couldn't figure out (or didn't want to spend the time and effort figuring out) how to only stop survivors from vaulting during stagger, and so they went ahead and simply made most of all actions impossible. This is another reason to look into "stagger" rebalancing, both in relation to BL and in general.
But without going into all that, I will propose a few adjustments for BL that I think are completely reasonable (I'm not suggesting all of these should be implemented):
At the very very least, its stagger reduction should be back to 100%.
The noise suppression should not be on a cooldown.
Its sprint duration could be increased to 4 seconds.
Perhaps reduce its Exhaustion timer to 20 seconds.
The stagger reduction could be on a separate, independent cooldown, of say 30 seconds (although then perhaps keeping the 75% reduction amount).
Alternatively, make BL a non-Exhaustion perk and simply have it suppress falling noises and reduce the stagger by 100%, on a 20-or-so-second cooldown.
I can show you 2 right now. Equip the perk yourself and use the dead dawg or Crotus offering. If the killer isn’t Nurse or Blight you should be able to infinitely avoid the killer.
I looped a kaneki for 4 minutes with it today for a video. He killed everyone else and I let him kill me because I’m not a scumbag.
Balanced Landing is fine. It doesn’t need any buffs. Its stagger reduction must stay tied to the exhaustion. 75% stagger reduction could literally be its own perk it’s so good.

Going on year 6 of Huntress having two of the worst Ultra Rares in the game

Zero reason to play the Blood Moon event as killer. We don’t like to be Gen rushed and have 90% of our perks removed from the game.
The goals won’t be hit fast organically. That’s for sure.

Only our best players like comp players and big content creators actually rank her at B Tier.Do you have cite for comp dropping her down to B tier? Because the last time I could find a list she was played was the Spring Invitational she was tier 2 (A tier). In the most recent season of DBDL she was not an option.

A lot of players are talking in soloQ tier list, not objective max potential tier list because it doesn't concern them. This kind of disagrees with what you said in an earlier post about Singularity. Do we rank Singularity on how most people are able to play him, or the max potential that can be achieved

The Japanese comp scene is more immature and it sounds odd to me to hear everyone in Japan is a massive comp tryhard yet their comp scene are getting stomped by ChinaI might be repeating something I said in an earlier comment to you, but that's because comp and pubs are completely different things. Try harding is a lot different than comp.
Their soloq, based off what I've watched, is considerably better than what you are going to run into in NA/EU.
No reason that should translate to their comp skills. You could put 20k hours into DbD pubs and its still not going to prepare you for a comp matchup as survivor (probably not as killer either).
But I would never bet ever any Japanese team could beat any top NA-EU team like Nokron, Invictus, Elysium, x9The first question would be what is the ruleset? Like there are killers / maps that comp teams depending on their region never even touch because they are unused.
The second point on comp is that no one really stands a chance against any of the top comp teams. It's basically been Elysium, Eternal, X9 and a couple of others winning/finaling tournaments for a while. The disparate difference in skill levels can make watching those early rounds of a tournament really boring.
Out of the millions of players of the game, I don't think where the best 10 or so players happen to be located is that reflective of the skill level you would see in a normal match.

Yet self-care is indicative of a fundamental misunderstanding on the survivor side in asian servers for this game. The time spent using self care is EXPONENTIALLY greater than having someone heal you- especially if they use perks that make healing others faster. It is often said in NA servers that self care is actively a throw pick when you use it.It really depends on how others play and how you use it.
Its not that survivors on the Asian servers always self care. They use the perk situationally. If the killer isn't pressuring, they'll still heal in what we would consider a 'normal' manner (they also bring botany to support the self care, so the heals can be quicker).
But what if the killer tunnels? Well you are going to run away from the hook and the gens and now every second the person who wants to heal you is chasing after you is a second they aren't on gens. And if you run away and no one follows you, but the killer decides to go back and play defense, well now you have no heal.
What if the killer interrupts the heal? That's the time of two survivors wasted and potentially both of them are now injured. Being spread out is generally to the survivors benefit.
It's also a lot easier to 99 a self care and do gens faster with resilience, or hold that 99 to keep info from the killer.
Additionally they use it interestingly when gens are finished. They'll pressure the final gen while injured, and then split up away from gates to get healed. Now it doesn't matter how long the heal takes, but once you're healed against most killers you can waltz out an open door without many concerns.
I've never understood why they don't just load up on a med-kit to do this, but self-care is the norm and they tend to finish gens incredibly fast.
I’ve just based that on where I’ve heard several comp players rank her. I don’t think there is an actual tier list. I know they never play her normally anymore. If you watch any of the videos on DBD leagues channel they exclusively play her on Gideon with the IRI head add on. For obvious reasons:
-
Sorry Sunshine. Us Huntress players have been dealing with this for almost a year now and nobody cares but us lmao.
-
Huntress is in her early 30s roughly. But she was taken in the early 1900’s so if she has been in the trials since the would technically be 150-180 years old since the trials are modern day.
The entity probably pauses aging I would assume. Or maybe transported her to the future? I’m not sure.
-
@Mandy Can you confirm if this was a bug? Or maybe a difference in how speed curves were adjusted at some point? I appreciate the help from before, thanks.

I am a Japanese DBD player.
In Japan, there is talk of a big difference in playstyle between the North American and other server environments and the Asian server environments.
(For example, it is often said that both survivors and killers on Asian servers focus on winning, while on North American servers they focus on having fun, etc.)
Also, the evaluation of killers is very different.
For example, Chucky, for example, was treated as a weak killer with a D rank at best, even before the weakening.
Please let me know your opinions. The Japanese/ Asia region player base is much more skilled than the NA player base. For example I see most players in the Asia region rank Huntress at B or even C Tier meanwhile NA players put her at high A Tier. Only our best players like comp players and big content creators actually rank her at B Tier.
But yes NA is much more focused on fun. Survivors get very angry when killers try to win. You will be constantly berated for tunneling, slugging or camping. People will report you and insult you for these things. I believe the vast majority of NAs player base aren’t real gamers but rather casual players.

@Coffeecrashing said:
People gave up on Huntress because of the map changes. Maps used to be much bigger, with way less line of sight breakers, which means that survivors would often be within line of sight of Huntress, and in danger of being hit by a hatchet.
There is a huntress achievement revolving around hitting survivors with hatchets that are at least 24 meters away. Back with the old maps, this was much easier to do, as Huntress very often had line of sight of survivors at 24+ meters away. And many of the loops had short walls that Huntress could easily throw a hatchet over, which meant that were a lot of loops where the survivors weren't safe. Huntress streamers would spend large portions of their games trying to make long ranged shots.
But now there are so many line of sight breakers, that Huntress very rarely gets a chance to do long range shots anymore. Huntress now spends way more time chasing a survivor that is looping around a high-walled object, just so they can eventually break a pallet and loop around another high-walled object. And when Huntress does get to throw a hatchet, the survivor is often within like 10 yards, which isn't very exciting at all.
So yeah, the killer still performs ok, because she still has 1 projectile = 1 health state, but it's definitely not as fun as it used to be, which is why some people stopped playing her.
Yes I know lol. I already talked to Ray and Scott and a few others about why they gave up on her. Seeing what the maps used to look like told me everything I needed to know haha.
-
@Mandy said:
She's never been nerfed in that manner - her speed whilst holding a hatchet has never been 110% on Live. There was a change in the PTB last year where we tried increasing that number but this was reverted in the PTB - Live version.
Must have been a bug. There’s a video by Sirekozy where he’s playing the old version of her and she starts slowing down 1 second after holding the hatchet. I have several clips of it as well.
But thanks for the information. I wasn’t sure if it was a bug or an actual mechanic that was nerfed. I appreciate the help.

So there are just 10 perks for killer that are useful? You clearly have no idea that killer variety is much bigger than this.
You said they are common. They clearly aren’t that common. And I was never even talking about the frequency of how much they appear. Just that they aren’t worth being a Hex. Just because they get used doesn’t mean they are any good.

The only reason I can see that this was a problem was that it might have actually made an impact against camping, as opposed to what we have now.
The only thing people complained about, and why it was reworked, was the griefing issue. Which was not only overblown, but much more easily solved in one sentence, which I already showed.
Aside from "it might've actually done something", what do you think was problematic about the perk?
A single hook stage being 6 minutes is crazy. It had no limitations besides a 40 second cooldown. There are times killers need to camp. There are times when survivors will greed gens and pop 3 so I’ll run back to hook and secure the second stage.
Old reassurance would make that impossible. That is waaaaay way way too strong.
-
@DeBecker said:
Ah, thats why Hex:Perks are quite common. Cause theyre not worth it. Maybe some reality check would be good for you.
Non of the top 10 most used killer perks are Hexes. Having an empty perk slot is more common than bringing a hex.

@AmpersandUnderscore said:
My opinion on reassurance hasn't changed since release.
PTB reassurance was perfectly fine, and even if we want to consider "griefing" scenarios (where the killer and at least two survivors all work together to hold someone on hook indefinitely), that situation is/was completely, entirely solved by "press e to cancel reassurance".
If the perk hadn't been completely gutted from ptb to release, we may not have needed all of the other mechanics like StB, AFC, or even the upcoming "anti camp" feature.
But, "hello, fellow survivors" won that fight years ago, and we are where we are today because of it.
PTB Reasurance was NOT fine and was insanely busted. It allowed survivors to be insanely greedy with little punishment. I shouldn’t have to explain why it was very problematic. Common sense should show you that.

Oh you watch tru3 no wonder. Did I say flashbang stun? I said lightborn it negates all blind perks making them useless so all the qq about flashbang being bugged and not to do x y z was fix easily with lightborn, so it does have something to do with the topic.
Now if there was no perk to help with the flashbang problem that I get but do not pretend that despite the bugs, you had a perk that counter it. Also you only play survivor argument is so weak and outdated.
I can say that you only play killer and not survivor too then. Fyi I play killer at least 20% of time like this current event since BP is far better to get than survivor nice try buddy.
So we’re just gonna skate past the fact you blatantly lied about how Ralph felt about the Huntress buffs to try and discredit my opinion? Yikes.
Survivors want Lightborn nerfed so that’s a moot point to try and use that as a deflection. Because if it was up to you Lightborn wouldn’t work how it does.
I’ve seen a lot of your posts. It’s very clear that you don’t play killer that much. You always advocate for killer nerfs. You always advocate for survivor buffs. You’re very clearly biased.

If you have any common sense you know there is a perk that exist since the game been born. It's call lightborn which most killers mains admit to using as base kit even if the see no flashlights which is true. As I had matches where no one has flashlight or flashbang and killer has Lightborn
Also you who still ask for more huntress buff when she use to be the most balanced killer before her unnecessary buff not even good huntress content creators like Ralph asked for. So if you want to talk about common sense look into yourself.
Nice Try Buddy but stop lying. Ralph said the buffs she got were fine on the PTB. So did Scott, Squirtle, Ray, Tru3, Coco, Spooky and Ohtofu. All of which know her whereas you clearly have no clue if she is balanced or not.
Not sure why you brought up Lightborn though? Completely irrelevant and doesn’t apply at all to this conversation
Stunning on command is bad and should never happen ever. I’m glad you don’t balance this game honestly. Survivor main for sure.
-
You won’t get any sympathy on this site my friend. 99% of the users here are survivor mains that would be happy if every killer was nerfed into the dirt.

It literally hard counters all ranged killers at any window tile.
Isnt that "a bit" too much? You basically say that equipping Finesse will make a Survivor immune against Range Killers on Windows. Certainly it can help, but you make it sound like a guaranteed "Get out of the Jail"-card against Ranged Killers, which is just not the case.
@Topic:
I dont think it is underrated or overrated. It is a fine Perk for what it does, but I would not say that it is one of the best Perks you can equip, but I would also not say that it is useless. It can help in some situations and I have seen it help in those (e.g. I once had a Survivor only get through the Window because of Finesse when I was playing Bubba, otherwise it would have been a Chainsaw-Hit mid-vault), but I have also been hit while fast-vaulting the window with Finesse… Its alright, but neither over- nor underrated.
It is quite literally a get out of jail free card with zero counterplay. It’s on a pretty long cooldown and isn’t active when injured so I don’t think it’s too problematic. But it is literally a free zero effort escape. That saves you even after you made huge mistakes.
The only killer who can actually catch it during the Vault is slinger. But since he is 110% its very close, you have to be almost perfect.
Huntress will 100% never catch you at a window ever if you have finness off cooldown. She’s 110% and 77% when holding. Even with Shiny Pin and Flower you’ll still never hit them.
-
No. If anything it’s underrated. It literally hard counters all ranged killers at any window tile. Combined with Lithe and it makes a very unsafe pallet into a literal god pallet to use and get away from.
-
You can fill a bloodgen by yourself before two survivors working on a regular gen can pop it. It can’t be regressed by any gen perks at all either.
-
Survivors freaking out now that Flashbangs aren’t exploits and insanely broken anymore will forever be hilarious to me.
“What do you mean I can’t land a Flashbang blind from 16 meters away?! KILLER SIDED GAAAAAME!!!”

If you have even a single clue how game balance works you would know that letting flash bangs stun the killer would kill the game outright.
That’s why even after 9 years we still don’t have a survivor perk that can stun the killer on command unless in a niche scenario like lockers.
As soon as you let survivors stun the killer, that’s it. Game is dead. Hooking would be impossible. Survivors would group up and stun lock the killer and so on.
It’s common sense.

You may have clicked the wrong thread - this is about Ghoul, not huntress. I did make a comment that Huntress overall is better than Slinger, but that was just referring to the fact that while Huntress is objectively better than Slinger, now we have a killer that pushes slinger even further into just being underpowered when comparing the options out there. He was already suffering in terms of ranged killer picks, but now he's on life support and could use some buffs.
No I was just countering the fact you said there was little reason to pick Slinger over Huntress which is just flat out wrong.
I do agree there is little reason to pick slinger over Kaneki though. He’s just better in almost every way. Especially being 115%
-

The Ghoul gets guaranteed hits with his ranged attack with his lockon, so missing isn't even a risk unless it's around a corner, but even then, half the time it'll count as a hit anyway. Ghoul also gets map traversal with multiple dashes, while Slinger is just slowly hopping along on a bad leg and has to take time to reel people who happen to get hit while still having risk of chains breaking from terrain or other survivors running in the way.
Isn't Ghoul just better than slinger in literally every aspect? Slinger seriously needs some love, especially since he already had a "better" version being Huntress. If we're having "ranged" attackers flying around at superman speeds, then the original concept of "ranged" killers needing to naturally move very slowly needs to be re-thought.
I feel each killer should have a unique feature\reason to play them. I feel Slinger already had a lack of it with Huntress, but with Ghoul, why ever play him?
I don’t understand how people say there is no reason to play Slinger because Huntress.
- No need to reload at lockers
- Not locker rng dependent
- Not as map dependent as a result
- Negates distance by reeling
- Deep wounds slowdown
- Pulls survivors away from pallets/ pallet saves
- Pull survivor to object for safe pick up
- Can use stealth perks
- Can use Exposed perks
- Cowboy
There’s plenty of reasons to use him. Is she stronger? Yes. But that’s irrelevant. They have different unique attributes which is why you play one and not the other. If you only care about winning then you know who to play. -

I agree with @Langweilig and am tired of being a broken record, the game was the best before 6.1 period. After wesker project w release ( my favorite chapter) that is when all hell broke loose started with no skill knight to this current patch game is killer sided for almost now a whopping 3 years. Every killer now after wesker is just no skilled and ez mode, stupidity op ( waves at singularity for example)
The game was supposed to be killer sided from the start. The Devs accidentally made survivors the power role for the first 5 years and survivors have been wanting to go back to that ever since.
The game is fine now.

I really don't care if it's intentional or unintentional, generator perk and power interactions not working on blood gens is actually insane. The devs remember they made quite a few killer powers around gen interactions right? RIGHT? As is known from my name, I consider myself a Pig main… unplayable in the event. If the survivors know this, and trust me they do, you can put a helmet on a survivor with 5 gens left to do and the survivors can do all 5 generators before a single helmet's timer starts because blood gens don't count as gens in the event apparently. This is also an issue for survivor because it means that if they do all the blood generators, they're likely not getting a lot of objective points because they don't count as generators. Also blood gens are able to get done way too fast and so many times after a killer kicks a gen, the survivors will just finish it in their face.
I’m pretty sure I was just talking to you about how poorly the Devs treat Pig and you were defending them. And here they go nerfing her again lmao.
Pig, Plague and Sadako can have their powers significantly hampered by chest offerings and the Drvs think it’s fine and fair.
Quite a joke really.

You're welcome to argue ethics with someone who actually presented arguments in this topic. You're going off on me, claiming things about me you have made up yourself.
I frankly cba.
I’m not going off on anyone lol. Just pointing out potential double standards that make zero sense. Nothing is wrong with AI. They don’t use a ton of energy. They are fun and useful tools. There’s nothing wrong with them at all.
You were the one saying not to use it while have zero evidence to say why not to use it. That’s all. I just wanted to stop you from misleading people and stopping people from using a fun tool. Thanks

This goes well beyond me ‘not liking the person behind it’, but go off.
Apple has children make iPhones in sweatshops that have nets around the outside of the building to catch people.
You’re being a hypocrite is all I’m saying. Human life is more important than using too much energy.

Congrats. Dementia gonna hit hard xd
Also do you not have friends? you know… the people you're supposed to speak to and ask questions. rather than an ai bot.. that's really quite sad.
Ew

I might hop on and see if my only remaining DBD enjoying friend has bought him and if so, I might play a game.
Entirely dependent on my buddy. (He does have John Ghoul)
Sometimes though, you just don't jive with a Killer.
I guess not. I’ll say the one thing for sure. He’s definitely not even close to Nurse or Blight at the very least. If he was overpowered and had no counterplay I would be winning no matter what.
So he definitely does have counterplay. At least far more than Nurse and Blight.
I gave up on him. I put him right above Legion on the tier list. Sad too because I wanted to P100 him.

Surely this is another reason not to use it.
Not to mention the various other reasons that aren’t allowed to be discussed here.
Not using a very helpful and great technology because you don’t like the person behind it is laughable. I bet you own an IPhone, probably Nike shoes. I don’t need to tell you how those products are made. I’m sure you know and use them anyways.

If they remake James Sunderland to look like the remake version I would buy him and P100 him immediately

Yes the gens are devastatingly fast. I wish killers got something new to do. At least in the last version we got an insanely huge M1 lunge. In this one we only get nerfed. Kind of strange but oh well.
