Azarov's are good, macmillans are good but hard, ormond is cool.

I like alien's map with my huntress, always brings me success.

Why do you personally like the Axarov maps? I don’t like the fact that she can be seen over every high wall loop.

Saves, maybe, Killer Powers, absolutely not.

There are killer powers you absolutely need to interact with otherwise you risk dying outright. Jigsaw Boxes and Sadako's TVs, for example. They're not going to make only some of the Killer Powers count as conspicuous actions (exceptions like that are bad for design), so it needs to be none of them.

They already do make certain killer powers conspicuous actions. Cleansing at a Plague fountain is one of them.

Whole lot of straw manning I’m seeing.

They're direct quotes. That's not strawmen.

Perk win rate is not equal to strength. Weaker survivors use Distortion on average because they are afraid so the win rate goes down. Besides as you have said yourself “Nightlight GG stats are self reported and not accurate”

I haven't said anything of the sort here. But also, this is a very weak deflection. If the perk is so tremendously overpowered, surely this would be noticeable in -any- aspect. But as it stands, your opinion on the perk being overpowered is fuelled by nothing more than 'I feel it is'. Which is a standard not even the most ardent [side]-mains would agree to.

I can’t say if it wins matches and nobody can. Games are won and lost by a combination of actions. And I know factually games have been lost because Distortion blocked an aura reveal on a survivor who was on death hook. And yes the match I played I would have 100% lost if I didn’t brutally 3 hook tunnel out the one survivor I finally found.

Again, this lends itself to the opposite of the argument you are making. If the perk is overpowered, why is it losing people matches instead?

Again another blatant straw man. The point I was making is 9 hook in 5 minutes proves that the whole “oh it hAS lImItEd tOkEnS!” Argument is irrelevant because survivors had infinite tokens by using lockers to save them.

"Survivors have infinite tokens if they don't use them"

Did you read what you wrote? I have been around these forums, I've got over 4.5K posts here, and this is, by far, one of the most takes of all time I've ever seen here.

Yeah, you get to keep your stuff if you don't use it. How on earth is that a notch against it being balanced?

Also, again, your problem here is very clearly LOCKERS, not Distortion.

A killers perks should be significantly stronger than survivors perks. One perk blocking 4 is in fact outrageous.

Again, you have not construed why. If those four perks all do the same thing, why shouldn't they get blocked by the same thing?

YOU decide to over-invest in one thing, that is YOUR problem.

Should we axe Plague as well, since someone bringing Empathic Connection, Botany, Autodidact and Desperate Measures would be hard-countered by it? Hell, that one doesn't even take up a load-out slot at all! Clearly this means Plague is broken OP, right?

And Repressed alliance is not even worth mentioning because it doesn’t counter anything. RA before a pain Rez? You keep your pain Rez token. RA before a pop? The killer goes to a different gen. Besides your giving the killer a free 45 seconds of slowdown. Deadlock is 25 seconds. You are literally helping the killer with Repressed Alliance.

-This- is a strawman. I never talked about Pain res or Deadlock. And yeah, RA can keep a killer from using Pop on the gen they need to use it on. 'They go to a different gen!' - Well, what if that gen doesn't have any progress? RA blocks Pop, along with the other perks I mentioned.

So surely it'd be subject to the same rule, right?

    strawman: Noun
an intentionally misrepresented propositionthat is set up because it is easier to defeat than an opponent's real argument. (You have done this multiple times in responses to my points, do I really have to show you each strawman you made?)

Killers get 4 perks, survivors get 16. There a 4 survivors and 1 killer. Basic common sense should tell you that the killer should have more powerful perks on average. You can’t counter any killer chase perks at all. You can’t counter almost any gen perks at all. But you can’t completely deny all aura.

The perk has a counter in which you can watch it activate. This telling you exactly what aura perk the killer has. They could have just left the perk with an indicator that it was being used so it still blocked your aura but you had no idea a token was consumed. That way you aura would still be protected but it never told you exactly what perks the killer had. Thus stopping you from hiding in lockers for 5 seconds every time a token was about to be consumed thus stopping you from having infinite tokens and stopping you from potentially telling your team all of the killers perks.

If you don’t think that perk is problematic you really have no clue about basic balance at all honestly.

And no Plagues power should not be axed. Another Strawman from you here. Nobody brings 4 healing perks. Exhaustion is always in one slot. And it’s a killer power. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk!

As if you really need someone who disables Killer-Powers for the Killers which have a power which is in the environment and lying around.

And yes, I would rather take a person on a Generator than someone who thinks they are useful disarming Trapper Traps.

That tells me everything I need to know, thanks! There is a reason why advanced teams always harass his traps.

On top of that: Removing a bear Trap for feee, Removing condemned for free, cleansing uroborous for free, cleansing contamination for free, STOPPING A CHAIN HUNT FOR FREE, removing drones for free, kicking victor for free.

Plenty of powerful things to counter killers and their powers that you have to do anyways but now you can do it with 3 health states. On TOP of iron will and distortion all rolled into a single perk.

You really must not play that often, which is fine. But still making such a strong statement without really knowing about it is kind of strange.

I hope I dont have you in my team then, because people who run around for 80 seconds with their OTR active instead of progressing the game are just helping the Killer.

Do you actually play this game? Just curious.

It really doesn’t seem like it because people with even basic fundamentals will harass killer powers. Going around the map disarming trapper traps is huge. And you can do it for free.

I never ran distortion because I have a moral compass that prevents me from using ridiculously overpowered perks.

Pretty sure it had a slightly below average winrate, so you might need to check your moral compass' accuracy.

No matter how you slice it, it was blatantly overpowered.

Did it win matches? Because it sounds to me like it was helping you, as killer, actually win more. Besides, the perk, by itself, has literally no effect. It is only as powerful as the aura reading opposing it.

I remember getting 9 hooks in 5 minutes and not getting a single aura read because they figured out all my aura perks by watching the distortion tokens leave and then they would hide in lockers any time I went to hook or kick a Gen and so on.

Good thing Distortion got gutted then, so now they… Can't hide in lockers anymore?

ONE survivor perk should not be able to count FOUR killer perks AT ONCE.

Why not? If they all do the same thing, why shouldn't they all get countered by the same thing?

Are we gonna have a Repressed Alliance nerf incoming? If you equip Pop Goes The Weasel, Nowhere to Hide, Machine Learning and Eruption, should you just be allowed to kick blocked generators?

Whole lot of straw manning I’m seeing.

Perk win rate is not equal to strength. Weaker survivors use Distortion on average because they are afraid so the win rate goes down. Besides as you have said yourself “Nightlight GG stats are self reported and not accurate”

  • Wait sorry she is in the EU. My bad😞

  • Not to harsh your vibe but It was poorly executed IMO. Frank was in it for like 10 minutes out of 6 hours. They would’ve been better off making it about Trapper or something.

  • Not gonna happen. They’ll just keep slaughtering Pain Rez and Pop until they are unusable. I can see a future where Pain Rez does 5% per hook. Then they’ll go after aura perks and then chase perks. The goal posts always moves and the cycle repeats.

I mean damn. Anti Tunnel, Anti Camp, Anti Face Camp, Anti Slug. What’s next? Anti Hook? Anti Injure? Anti load the Game?

  • Getting a flashlight save should be a conspicuous action. Along with disabling killer powers. Kind of weird how I could run around the map with OTR while fully healed disabling all of merchants drones only to have 3 health states when she tries to stop me.

  • @OneGoodBoyDemo said:

Hex: Two can play exist so probably not. The effect is too insignificant for survivors to bother cleansing.

Good point. That perk is so horrifically bad that I forgot it existed.

not really, most of the time the perk bought you a little time to get a safe save or finish a gen without being consistently pushed off, but that didn’t guarantee you weren’t getting chased of you weren’t doing absolutely nothing, and how just being near others blew your cover and wasted the tokens. If you were doing absolutely nothing I’d argue in great detail how it’s basically a killer perk at that point. You ran it plenty though right? I know I did.

I never ran distortion because I have a moral compass that prevents me from using ridiculously overpowered perks. That’s why I never used old Adrenaline.

It did help rats rat which made me tunnel out the people who didn’t have Distortion because they are the only ones I couldn’t find. Now I can hook everyone equally. No matter how you slice it, it was blatantly overpowered.

I remember getting 9 hooks in 5 minutes and not getting a single aura read because they figured out all my aura perks by watching the distortion tokens leave and then they would hide in lockers any time I went to hook or kick a Gen and so on. ONE survivor perk should not be able to count FOUR killer perks AT ONCE. Almost all gen regression and killer chase perks have zero counter yet aura has the most counters.

  • @TieBreaker said:

I think it needed toning down, but BHVR went full karate chop and murdered it. It's one of the few perks that I can find no real use for. Not to mention that OtR makes it somewhat obsolete.

It needed it. Was way too strong. A overpowered perk that was even more overpowered in SWF. Rest In Piss Distortion!

  • Agreed PWYF is almost completely garbage. The Devs actually has a really good idea a while ago to make it to where you had a small haste boost as long as the obsession was injured but because Plague exists they never did it.

Making it to where you lose a token when a survivor loses a health state would be best so that way Trickster and Nemmy could use it.

But honestly survivors generally hate any haste on killers for any reason at all so it will never be changed. I remember when they complained about Huntress’s new belt add ons that effectively gave you 3% haste for 3 seconds. Literally her worst add ons she’s ever had and will never make a difference ever, but people still complained about it.

nonono, they don't mention the slogan anymore because in the midst of this "go next" pandemic, Death IS an escape for survivors xD

    You’re right lmao 😂

  • They don’t use that slogan anymore because they are slowly nerfing killers to where survivors won’t die at all. Why mention Death at all atp?

  • @Mr_K said:

The last thing you want is for the Devs to look at Huntress.

Honestly you’re right. “We noticed Xenomorph isn’t doing so well and has a low pick rate, so we decided to nerf them into an unplayable state!” - Devs

Honestly goes to show how much they cater to survivors because she got nerfed because the tail was “undodgeable” what a joke

Well if either of them were released today they would've def been 115% speed. People can say what they want but 110% speed is atp just a remnant of old dbd killers design … Pretty sure not even the devs could answer why Houndmaster moves at 115% speed while Deathslinger's still stuck at 110%.

Exactly. I know why they won’t do it tho. Survivors pay the bills and they can’t upset their little wallets. Literally neither of them would be overpowered at 115% at all. Such an outdated mechanic.

  • @TieBreaker said:

You're not getting Shiny Pin basekit, no matter how many times you ask lmao.

Yeah I know. Survivors were crying, screaming and throwing up because the slowest killer in the game can’t move slightly faster while still being the slowest. The only slower killer is Nurse and stalking Meyers.

I guess we should make it to where survivors can’t drop pallets sometimes right? That would be fair since I’m a 110% killer who can’t use their power sometimes.

  • @SoGo said:

Huntress is pretty much in an ideal spot rn. She is very much a killer where you have to get good.

Though, yeah, indoor maps and bad locker RNG are awful for her, but with the first you can't really do anything, and the second is a valid issue that was present in the game for a long time.

The issues you have (mostly) aren't really ones that can be solved without making her unbearable.

As to how you get better, I can't help you as my aim is bad af and I can't play her without my sanity going down the drain.😅

Giving her basekit shiny Pin would’ve went a long way and despite what people were saying wouldn’t have made her problematic at all even remotely. Still couldn’t land hatchets at small loops.

Definitely could zone better but Demo is a much better zoner since he moves at 115% holding shred and can immediately cancel into an M1. Xeno moves at 115% with his tail ready and PP Head moves at 110% with ROJ.

Shiny pin wouldn’t even fix any problems actually. Neither her no slinger need to be 110% with how many loops they can’t use their power at.

Ooo what number are you in 24+ meter downs I'm sitting at like 150ish trying to get to the top 100

576! Idk what build you use but I love to use Lethal, Gearhead, NTH and BBQ.

  • @Yippiekiyah said:

Huntress got two of her best add ons base kit not that long ago.

Very much needed as it took her from 46-50% on average to a steady 54%. But still indoor maps, map clutter and lockers need changes in a big way to justify her being 110% still. Same with Slinger.

  • @PleaseRewind said:

I suggest checking out Hext on Twitch. Awesome Huntress player.

I should’ve specified but I am already Top 1% Huntress mains world wide and top .05% in 24 meter hatchet downs. Asking for tips was sarcasm which I should know doesn’t translate in text. You can’t just get better on indoor maps and loops where I can’t use my power.

I appreciate you trying to help tho lol.

  • @AmpersandUnderscore said:

So, regarding improvement: I usually play with no add-ons for a while when learning a killer, then try everything over time to see how it feels.

I'm not a huntress player, personally, but if you're having issues with hatchet economy, you can try adding hatchets to compensate slightly for locker spawns. As your aim improves you shouldn't need them as much. There are also wind up speed add-ons and shiny pin for movement speed during wind up that might help with loops.

Regarding maps: there's no perfect map for all killers. Killers like huntress and nurse would prefer an empty field with nothing to obscure line of sight, while someone like ghost face would be unplayable on that. The opposite extreme is true, where GF needs los blockers to approach, but those actively hinder other killers.

Maps can still be playable though, even if not perfect. You can, for example, throw hatchets down a hallway on lery's, but can't orbital strike like you could on dead dawg. Those are techniques you'd learn along the way, and possibly watching some content creators who have mastered huntress would help there.

I should’ve specified but I am Top 1% Huntress mains world wide and top .05% in 24 meter hatchet downs. Asking for tips was me being jaded. Because I know I can’t just get better on indoor maps and loops where I can’t use my power.

I do appreciate you actually trying to help tho lol.

It’s not my fault that 2 killers and a couple more honorable mentions are so absolutely BUSTED that perks with zero real requirements like Nowhere to Hide are this annoying to go against.

So to answer your question, YES! The perk needs to change to accommodate the busted high mobility killers on the roster that take heavy advantage of this.

Killer mains got Distortion nerfed, so don’t get all bent out of shape when survivors ask for changes to make the game less annoying for us too!

Consider my shape bent because I have lost 5 perks as a Huntress main because of Nurse and Blight. Those killer just need to go honestly.

  • No it’s unique. Ultimate weapon used to do that and they removed it. There should be at least one aura perk that follows a killer.

  • @Pulsar said:

Xeno nerf was…idk what they were thinking.

SM at least had a 70% KR, so there's SOME basis there, no matter what side of that debate you fall on.

I don’t think the kill rate matters at all when it comes to how the devs balance. We have a few killers at 50-53% and have been for a year and when asked if they would get buffed a certain person from DBDs team said “just get better”

  • @jedimaster505 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3897613#Comment_3897613

Your double standard is hilarious. Bloodlust is basically just free haste for killers that can't use their skills to catch up to a survivor even with faster base speed. Yet giving this to solos that are at an inherent disadvantage is a big "no no". The truth is that killer mains with your attitude are power tripping and just want the ability to easily stomp solos that are above their skill level instead of winning by learning the game.

Yes the devs should aim for 50/50 as that is what creates an optimal gameplay experience. Both killers and survivors should be winning based on their skills and this is only possible when the two sides are properly balanced. You know what happens when games are unwinnable? People stop playing. Hence you are left with the DC/suicide epidemic that is the current unplayable game state.

It’s a double standard that makes sense if you think about it logically. Killer is the power role. They should get special things that allow them to keep up with 4 survivors since every second they spend is 3-4 seconds survivors can put on a Gen.

Going for a 50/50 escape rate is a terrible idea and that’s why the devs aren’t doing that. Jason had an 80% kill rate in Friday and everyone loved that game. It only died because of the lawsuit.

DC epidemic is way overblown. I tracked 500 games and only 7 survivors immediately DCed and 13 gave up on hook instantly. 20 survivors out of 2,000 is irrelevant.

Don’t ignore the fact that they wouldn’t let Huntress keep her small haste boost. Survivors were crying and throwing up about it. So let’s keep it fair and have no double standards when it comes to survivor haste.

  • Do we just nerf every perk in the game because it’s strong on 2 of the 38 killers? It doesn’t need a change. I would rather Blight run this instead of 4 slowdowns.

  • The point is they needed to nerf it to fix slugging so they just slapped a random garbage effect on it to make it unusable. It’s not even D Tier. Good on Clown and Freddy, that’s it. One of the worst perk reworks I have ever seen.

  • This is the worst idea imaginable. It’s a lazy fix and survivors don’t like lazy fixes. They tried making Huntress move faster to fix the issue of her being trash on 70% of maps and survivors shut that down because it was a “lazy fix” Giving free haste is literally removing any skill needed. You don’t like bloodlust so your solution is to give free haste to survivors?

Bloodlust exists because you aren’t supposed to be able to loop a killer indefinitely. You are supposed to go down at some point. Chases already go on far too long for most killers WITH bloodlust. Not to mention breaking pallets removes it. Along with using your power.

A 50% escape rate isn’t what Devs want either. They said they want a 60-40 split. So they should be nerfing SWF down to 40% and bringing solo queue up to 40%
