Should be a map wide perk they didn't take in account to maps where gens are literally nowhere vaults lol

that would make it fairly SWF sides though, they can communicate when would be an OK time to pop gens where randommers would screw eachother over without knowing it.

  • Rank has been broken since hte day it was introduced

There is 0 excuse once you have over a thousand hours to not know what all the perks and addons do. No reason whatsoever. It's amazing to me how many survivors with 3k hours or even more don't know what killer addons do. That tells me you never play killer. Im a big advocate for playing both sides due to this. Playing both sides makes you better at your main role. There's no excuse when you have 1k hours to not know what nurses calling is (Got called a wall hacker by a claud with 4k hours). Same goes for killer at 1k+ hours you should know what BT,DH, Ironwill, etc do. Anyway you get my point. End of rant.

just to point out a flaw in that logic, you could have had that 1000 hours in the first year of the game well before all the other dlc and new content was out that you wont have any knowledge off.

  • I think the blood of fallen survivors should cool the chainsaw

  • bit of the ol google shows the following vid:

conclusion, with an RTX3080 / RX6800Xt that is not held back by a cpu, you do about 100 fps on 4k on ultra.

So no, currently nothing really can go much higher, next gen should make it possible though.

(which is pretty rediculous given how the game looks, it looks fine but nothing that should be remotely challenging to run)

Camping isn't even close to effective.

As for not missing any blinks, I meant I never missed a hit I went for. I never misread a survivor.

Camping can easily lead to 4k's for players still willing to play, which is a lot, so if killing with minimal effort is your goal, then its very effective.

yeah you never missed a blink on a hit you were trying to get, that still does not say a lot, was the survivor running a marathon then it takes a lot of time before you are in positon to land a hit, hence you might only hit 10 times in a match, again you never missed, but you did not hit enough.

  • @CoalTower said:

So I was going to post this after it happened, but I've been busy responding to others on here. So about half an hour ago, I was playing Nurse. I didn't miss a single blink. Not one(I'm proud of this 😂)

But guess how many kills I got? Two. The match lasted maybe 5 minutes, and I got ten hooks in that time. I still only get two kills.

So tell me. How is it fair that survivors doing gens quickly can nearly beat a Nurse playing perfectly? And it's not that I'm salty about not getting a 4k, I was just thinking:

If they got two people out against a Nurse that was playing perfectly, then they would definitely get at least 3 out with any other killer.

This needs fixing. It takes absolutely no skill to do this when it's the most powerful thing in the game.

"playing perfectly" is an extremely subjective thing, base it on fun? base it on effectiveness?

Camping is very effective, is it fun? do we admire players for that? do we call that playing perfectly?

not missing a single blink also is an odd thing to say, you "miss" blinks all the time as you simply use it to move around, and lets say you only went for a blink hit 2 times in the entire match, you "did not miss a single blink" but you also did not make much of an impact.

how about slugging, did you do that? because clearly there was a shortage of pressure to apply from your side.

and to end it all, 2 kills 2 escapes is the ideal outcome, its what the devs pray for.

While sometimes I'd love to kick people off, you said these people have BT. They could just legitimately be trying to save you or hook trade, but you misunderstood it as farming and kicked them off. Now you're both going to be hooked. It's a slippery slope and people can use it to legitimately punish kindness.

I don't think we should give survivors MORE ways to screw each other over. Your idea only enables it and still the person taunting gets an escape and the other people minding their own business get a closed door.

I get your point, I do, but again we cannot let that guide how the game is designed, any player, killer or survivor, can completely ruin the game for the others, that is the nature of games you are playing with/against other players.

Survivors can just run around the map throwing every pallet, just because.

They could come to your gen and blow it up, intentionally, the entire time.

They could simply go afk right away, same as the killer.

If people want to ruin games, they can, really easily, but if you want to design the game around that fact you might as well delete it as you cannot actually do anything about that in the first place.

  • what if I want to farm and the pride charm is a way to communicate that?

  • oh also I would like to add that I love that they gave him a 1 kick action for gens, its just thsoe subtle differences between killers that really works for me.

  • @GrimmGaliard said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2294729#Comment_2294729

OH you mean force them out as in to escape the trial? Not the exit area?

That's a horrible idea. That means someone can taunt and screw their teammates out of an open door. That doesn't punish the taunter, it punishes the people NOT taunting.

And if I want to force an escape right at the gates, I'll go hit them and enjoy my points.

yeah but with that attitude we might as well overhaul the entire game, heck we could give negative points for survivors who enable the killer to close the door.

Currently we have survivors already going for unsafe unhooks just with their BT to farm you for points and we are not getting the option to deny an unhook because...that would also....be toxic?

Idk I think with this game we should focus on survivors being a team, otherwise a lot of the discussion will have to be changed:

"DCing screws over the team.....yeah but we now have the opinion that the team consists of A-holes anyway so who cares"

We have to assume survivors play as a team, wanting to go back into the trial to get everyone else, that is the intended way of playing and where the fun comes from, so with that in mind and the option to give negative points to survivors who enable (intentional or not) for the killer to close an opened gate, I once again maintain that htis would be a great addition to this game.

But you are of course entitled to your opinion, lord knows we all dont agree on pretty much anything with this game.

  • Then dont play him?

Im having a blast with him myself

  • @GrimmGaliard said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2294684#Comment_2294684

No, they're both down INSIDE the exit area. They were injured, opened the gate in front of me and got downed trying to run through. Since PH is ranged, I could just shut the gate and stop either from leaving. Your solution is: One of you stay behind and get killed so the other can leave? That's unfair.

For the second, you said close the gate like the hatch, which is instant. That means I can just wait at the switch for her to go run for the exit and immediately shunt her back out.

That isn't tactical, that's just unfair.

If they are both down inside the exit are and you close the gate...then both escape...when you close the gate you force them out.

For the second: Yes if she goes out and does not run out instantly but waits to self care or whatever you can close the gate, we can always add a slight minimal delay on when the killer can close the gate after it has been opened by a survivor.

Just to make it clear again, the killer can close the gate WHEN a survivor is present inside the gate area and will by doing so force that survivor out, making them escape, BUT the door is now closed for other survivors left in the trial. (and this ends the silly Teabagging at the exit gate as the killer can just force people to leave as long as they are in the exit area.

  • Th blood should be a separate checkbox you get per clothing item when you prestige, simple as that.

A killer running Stridor is still going to hear louder breathing of a survivor running Bite The Bullet after they’ve finished healing.

A killer running Stridor is still going to get the full effects of Stridor after a survivor’s 10 seconds of Self Preservation has run out.

I can’t see the problem with either of these 2 perks doing EXACTLY what they describe themselves as being able to do for their very, VERY brief activation periods.

fine fine fine, I really do not care that much in this scenario, for me is just a fundamental part of the game that killer perks should be top trumps

  • @GrimmGaliard said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2294462#Comment_2294462

So if I'm PH and Punishment two survivors as they make it into the exit gate, I can just walk out and close it again so neither can finish crawling to safety?

Or if a healthy Nea opens a door in front of me, I can just stay behind and close it again? Because she'll technically be in the exit area.

    I don't think that's a good idea.

Not sure what you mean by the first scenario, yes if 2 are slugged and crawl for the door and 1 player is in the exit door area, you would be able to walk up and close the door forcing the one in the area out and keeping the two who were crawling stuck infront of a closed door.

That is exactly why that is so interesting, that 1 player should have ran back into the level (taking a risk) to help the other two escape OR they should leave immidiatly preventing the killer from being able to lock the door.

on the second scenario, if a Nea is opening the door infront of you, and she runs into the exit area and does not leave, then yes, you can close the door and gain an advantage (unless the others are opening the other door in the meantime), the Nea can also choose to instandly run out, therebye taking away your ability to lock the door BUT now she is atleast out of the match so you can use that, the Nea can also choose to take a hit but run back into the match killing off the boring safety of the exit gate area.

I honestly think this would make the game a lot more tactical and interesting for everyone involved.

You shouldn’t be forced to do 4 games to get the same amount of bp you would get from one game as him

Well you arent forced to do anything....let us first agree on that.

Sometimes it takes a few more matches, but you are playing those matches anyway right? so what does it matter?

Im not against it being lowered to 1 or 2 or 3 times, im just saying I find it odd to call it a grind, you are playing the game anyway and you will still be playing it after you get that daily done as well right? so what does it matter if it takes a few games?

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2294463#Comment_2294463

Except we’re not talking about it indefinitely countering Stridor the way players want Iron Will to do. It’s only for the 10 second period that Self Preservation is active, and for however long a Survivor is healing when using Bite The Bullet.

How does a killer perk making 2 niche survivor perks useless sound better than 2 niche survivor perks countering 1 killer perk only periodically during a match?!

a niche killer perk should beat a niche survivor perk, that is all.

If you run Bite The Bullet but the killer has Stridor, then that is just tough luck.

If you run flashbang but the killer has Lightborn, then that is just tough luck

    etc etc

  • I dont really understand the issue, the grind getting worse? you are playing the game anyway right? so what does it matter?

  • Because people hate change, untill they calm down and look at it more objectively.

  • @humanbeing1704 said:

I find that to be very dumb imo bite the bullet should counter it fully

Survivor perks should never counter a killer perk, that goes against the entire concept.

  • I already said this a million times:

The killer should be able to close the exit doors (using the same handle as the survivors) in one go (like closing the hatch) IF a survivor is present in the exitgate area, forcing them out and having hte door now once again closed.

This poses a risk for those that stay there and heal in the safety of the exit door, and poses a risk for those who are not there while others are, it would make for much more interesting and tactical gameplay.

It is within the rules, allowed and a strat though. You're playing a game where one side has to KILL YOU.

Oh no, the other soccer team has the ball and won't pass it back to us, it's not fair!

If you die, just take the death. It takes 15s to die on 2nd stage. Eat those 15s instead of crying like a baby that you're "held hostage" for a few seconds. It'll be a lot quicker than the 5 minute penalty.

and what if you just get slugged with the rest of the team? shall I just eat those 5 minutes on the floor as well? sure is fun and a good usage of my time.

And its not just about being "held hostage" like I said, its the other side not playing the game properly, afk killer/survivor = a non match, a waste of time, a camping killer is no different, a tunneling killer is no different.

So yeah I find it pretty silly ot have to stay in matches where the other team does not actually play the game, like I described in my soccer analogy which you then completely mis understood.

idk how many times i have to repeat myself, the only reason camping is not bannable is because the devs are incapable of punishing it, and its only because "enough" killers dont resort to behavior like that that the game sitll exists.

If every killer would camp, as completely by the game rules you seem to so agree with, the game would just straight up die because there is nothing to play really and forcing players to stay for those (hopefully) few matches that do end up being non-matches is just bad.

  • @Seraphor said:

If you weren't 'forced to play a game you didn't want to be in' then people would be leaving games constantly, and ruining everyone's fun.

Don't start a game if you're not willing to see it through.

right so if you are gearing up for a game of soccer and the other team just starts beating you up you continue to play?

and dont give that "its within the rules, its allowed, its a strat" nonsense, you know that is only the way it is because the devs are incapable to adress it, the game only exists by the grace of its community.

  • @Tsulan said:

But people are not willing. The problem with the optional objectives is, that people will just ignore them. The Rift challenges are slightly different, because people can earn cosmetics for completing them. So there is an incentive behind it. On its own, there would be little to no incentive to complete those challenges.

well...bloodpoints right? heck maybe some can even give irridecent shards, like 10 or so.

People are not willing is just an odd argument to me, if you are not willing then yeah I guess nothing can be done and the game is doomed? I mean people are still playing some clearly a lot are willing to have something to do with it and I think the vast majority does not play the game just to be done with it asap/

  • @MadLordJack said:

It's like the Devs saw the complaints for Huntress' beach balls and thought "Well, better nerf Plague and Slinger a bit"

No, the devs saw the issue, even made an entire stream about it, how it is suppose to be (on the right) instead of what it is now (on the left) in this image (literally from their stream btw):

    Untitled Image

so they changed it to the right image, making it more act like it should.....then they somehow messed that up entirely, reverted it back to the beachball and never touched it again.

This is one of the reasons why the statement "we tested it internally and it did not work/we did not like it" coming from the devs holds zero value for me.

  • @Tsulan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2255966#Comment_2255966

Not in my matches. I´ll instantly open the gates and leave.

You want to escape with only 11k points? Have fun!

weird, that is extremely rare for me to happen, usually survivors will taunt at the exit door or something like that knowing full well the killer has no power to do anything anymore.

  • Ok ok @Tsulan @TicTac and @Steah

Im just talking to all of you here now because I feel we are sorta mixing intent en control....idk let me be less vague.

If a killer goes afk, thats a complete non-match and nothing can be done about a killer chosing to so.

If a survivor goes afk, thats a complete non-match and nothing can be done about a survivor chosing to do so.

If a killer camps, same thing

If survivors play a game just to get out of the match asap then again, nothign really can be done about that.

So that is where I feel we are sorta talking past eachother, non matches are not fixible by any means, if the other team in soccer suddenly walks off the field you cant really force them to go back out there, you can put them in jail sure but they still did not and will not play that match so the match is no matter what, ruined.

My addition is more about the whole, people who play the game for fun, who want a challenge etc and I think an OPTIONAL secondary objective would be a great way to introduce some extra of that to matches, optional so its not an extremely oppressive change (read my first comment) but alos rewarding for those willing and it might just be enough to make the matches a bit better for the killer as well.

We cannot do anything about toxic players either side, just nothing apart from maybe getting a reputation system so toxic players are matched with their own kind but even that is probably tricky to pull off well.

If survivors cared about BP then genrushing wouldn't be an issue. People would spend time healing and trying to get in chase

Gen Rushing is there to secure a safety net, after the doors are powered they have all the freedom in the world to do whatever they want to gain some more bp, and they do/will.

  • as i always say, try to play without perks and add ons first, do that for a while and you will appreciate what every perk does, (and yeah stop caring about doing well, its just a game, just try some things and have some fun).

hoarder is preeeetty meh I find

oppression can definitly be a useful suprise for survivors to give away locations

Coup de Grace can be really solid, I just wish it was a tad more controllable so you only use it when you want to, like maybe some visual queue that if you keep pressing m1 after the point it will use up the token but if you let go before it you will just go for a maximum m1 length without using the token, but thats QoL stuff, I think its a pretty good perk.

Survivors would just ignore the secondary objective. Just like they do it with totems. This would solve nothing. Or worse, if survivors get more bloodpoints out of this objective, then survivor queues would significantly increase.

Im sorry but I cant take this answer seriously as you suddenly speak like some all knowing being, you dont know about any of this.

Its also pretty contradictory "they will ignore the secondary objective" sooo you are saying they dont care about bp then, "if survivors get more bp then queues would significantly increase" soooo they DO care about bp.....

  • Base ricochet, (just fun and interesting/unique)

Building up and being able ot unleash Main Event whenever you want (and after having to build it up again).

Laceration starting later when in active chase.

    then we shall see.

  • Killers have learned to play (imo) scummy and use their meta perks (usually killer specific) and if the killer knows what they are doing its hard enough to get the gens done in time only to be hit by NOED which you simply had time for to adress.

A secondary objective would make things worse....UNLESS...and this is kinda what I am hoping they are going towards with the glyphs and chomski (or whatever) the gnome, the secondary objectives are OPTIONAL and are rewarded with some BP or so.

I would imagine they work as the glyphs do now, a negative that you carry for a portion or the rest of the match that is randomly generated but will show the player before interacting with the glyph.

Then it will be a game of taking it early, ensuring you have it and get the greater reward or getting it later, making it easier on you but also getting rewarded a bit less and of course with the glyphs moving around after a set time period, the chance of not finding it again at all.

I think this would enrich the gameplay all around myself.

Can you be more descriptive about this. You say get rid of empty spaces ?I'm actually pretty stupid, so I want to understand this better.

They means "deadzones", due to the randomised of the tiles of the maps it can happen that the map has areas that are empty, nothing there to help the survivor against the killer.

To OP it's worth a shot but you have to be careful not to make matches feel too similair, but I'm all for trying it

  • Could you compact your post a bit? You are throwing out repeating remarks that don't really.say anything.

Make it a bit more constructive

  • nope, its fully allowed, fun right? imagine if all killers just stared using this fully allowed tactic, never hook anyone, just down them and down them and leave them to bleed out....this game would die in a heartbeat if it wasnt for the good will of the players.

  • Slugging for the 4k is just weak, but sometimes you do it because that survivor walking around really does not deserve to get out so its not so much about getting a 4k but more about punishing that survivor.

Being slugged for the 4k is a pretty terrible experience, might as well tie me up and waste my time.

I said this a million times already, JUST ALLOW A SURVIVOR WHO IS SLUGGED TO FILL A SECOND BAR AFTER THE RECOVERY BAR AND WHEN THAT SECOND BAR IS FILLED THE SURVIVOR HAS THE OPTION TO KILL THEMSELVES

its more on the mods and its pretty telling honestly, "cant behave" is more about "dont hold to the dictatorship on this forum" and I know what you are thinking, its their forum, their rules, you dont have to be here and you are correct.

But silencing people who talk openly about the failures of this game that willfully are never even attempted to be adressed is pretty messed up.

Heck im pretty sure OP got banned for this very thread, a member since 2018 outright banned for even suggesting to the option that people can and will dip out over behavior they do not agree with in a game.

And its funny as well, think about soccer, what if the other team just sits on the grass or just walks off or starts attacking the other players, are the other players suppose to just stay and play like its a normal match? not...really.

And the devs know very well that is purely by the grace of the community that this game stays alive (yes yes obviously if in any game nobody plays it anymore it is dead but what I mean is) because if all killers would just camp, which is completely allowed by the devs, then nobody would play survivor anymore because what is the point?

1 … 4 5 6 7 8 … 25
