I can assure you, he's different. The stances have been removed, and he has to actually track to find people now and will only find them within his TR.
He can still be outplayed if he's taken to a strong loop and can't get that early pallet drop, or even prevent it from dropping before going in for a hit.
He's purely an information Killer now, which was my dream for Doc. ๐

You need to look good to kill. :D
That phrase actually works for both Survivor and Killer ๐

I'd say try it first. You've only heard part of the changes, jumping to a conclusion now is silly.
For those who missed it:
- Treatment mode is gone. You no longer need to switch modes to shock survivors. (Shock and then hit people quicker.)
- The Static Field has been replaced with a Static Blast. This shocks your full terror radius and gives any survivor hit by it a full tier's worth of madness. Cooldown of 60 seconds.
- Various add-on improvements.
- Backwards skill checks in madness.
And there will be a PTB first, of course, which means it could change before going live.
Also he'll be getting his own unique chase music. That doesn't really affect balance, but it's cool and I figured I should mention it.
HOW IS THIS BAD???? This makes Impossible Skill Checks 10 times better as you'll get to choose when you want to track people, plus stop gen progress and pallet looping far more efficiently!
No stance switching? Epic.
I am hoping that this is as good as it sounds by the way.
P.S. don't touch how Order and Calm synergise please, or else then I will be annoyed. ๐

Good. These are the pathetic people that shouldn't be allowed to play a game that they don't want to play, leaving only the people that really care left.

Legion killed off for good? I doubt it, they'll get another "rework" in about a year.

My friend recently downloaded DBD. As survivor, he can not move the camera to look behind himself. The camera moves with his body. I had him uninstall and reinstall, it stayed the same. Any ideas on this? PS4, btw.
If you believe this to a bug, then shouldn't this have been posted under the "Bugs" section? Just curious.

Depends if you mean farming, or actively pairing yourself with a friend so they can tell you where everyone is for you to kill them or not.
Because both are technically the same thing, and one is nowhere near as bad as the other.

I can't see Level 4 being as crazy as 2 or 3 because the devs are aware of how people will react now haha.

Really, this game should add a "reconnect" option. And if you don't reconnect into the game in about 2 minutes you get penalized. Ez.
I remember a long time ago that devs wanted to plan on a 'husk' being left behind in a game. I reckon that they could do it now that they have servers if they wanted to (much like in LoL, Dota, CS:GO, etc).

I want the stats when it ends. because now killer survivability is going to tank since their previous stats did not include games with DCs. So a HUGE amount of the overall games were never accounted for when putting out kill ratio stats.
I just suicide instead of DCing anyway. Now i see even more people first hook suiciding instead of DCing. If a lot of people follow suit, this will now cause killers to have a much higher kill rate, which i'm going to assume will lead to even more nerfs in the future because they base everything solely on stats. gg
I am also of the same opinion. However, I do feel that the stats will stay the same for the reason that you noted: people will just suicide on first hook and that is still a sacrifice (although it is one that helps out with your emblem progress at least).

Dc's are the worst, But honestly..I think feedback on WHY people dc should be happening as well..I know for MYSELF not saying for anyone else, But myself if I'm tunneled off the hook x-amount of games in a row then yeah I do start Dc'ing once I'm death hook.
But then again there were challenges in the Tomes for not being hooked while having spine chill so people were dc'ing once they got downed. There are many reasons, but there are also people who do it just because.
I think if we look at it, as a whole maybe then we might be able to change things and make them better. But thats imo.
I'm guessing that's why the devs will likely plan a list of how long each offence will put the player on timeout for, like giving DC-ing to give somebody hatch or DC-ing due to slugging, etc (checking the reasons why that way).

I'll tell you what man, there was a lot of hype over that perk when it was freshly new, not much people do totems over healing, unhooking, gens and even gasp sabotage.
I've been much more free to use that perk now that the Oni is out with Yui, everything's all good now.
Might have to give it a spin if that's the case. However, if it does start to get switched in by the people running Self Care then I'll likely take it off.
I really do like Inner Strength, it's just the fear of having no bones to do leaving you exposed lol.

No one brings that perk nor does totems so free 5 or 4 heals for me. :)
The only reason I never bring it is so that if teammates decide to start doing bones, then I'll have no way to recover myself. It happened quite frequently to me, so I just had to stop using it - as amazing as the perk is if you can use it.

Sadly I highly doubt this. When Nurse was gutted, she got gutted for good on all platforms. Even the skilled players can struggle with her. I'd also rephrase the question to be Nurse specifically if that's who you're struggling with.

Overrated: Self-Care. Thanks to you guys who ruin our chances of winning because you heal yourselves for 10 years!

It always feels like there are 'waves' to which side gets the next set of nerfs/buffs. At the start of the year until about a month before GF got released, Survivors were in a bad spot. The rest of the year since, Killer's been getting a raw deal.
I don't understand why one side has to be neutered for a while until the other side gets it, and why both sides can't be balanced at the same time in all honesty.
Myself, and a number of other players wouldn't be having this issue of needing to play one side almost exclusively until the opposing side gets sorted otherwise.
That's just how I feel about the past year though.

Pinhead from Hellraiser. It's got to happen sometime.

Whispers. Survivors cannot play around it, and no amount of hiding will save them if you know how to eliminate all possible areas that they can hide using it.

Yeah, this never made any logical sense to me at all. Because it only resulted in yet another Legion nerf that was unwarranted.
But I guess the devs wish they'd never developed and released Legion thinking about it. Shame, such wasted potential.

Do you always run ruin or do you sometimes go back and try to play without? If you're new to the game, definitely get this perk.
It's the first perk I rushed when playing Killer because it is the only necessary perk needed in order to slow the game down just a lil bit.

People care about ranking up still? There's no reward for it honestly.

Balanced Landing could be used to turn some loops into infinites, which is something we want to avoid. Typically you wouldn't use the stagger reduction from Balanced Landing more than once in a chase unless you were taking advantage of one of those loops.
As for Decisive Strike, if you have to wait a full 60 seconds, that's because you're tunneling someone immediately off the hook. The perk is designed to prevent that, so of course it's going to be very punishing. If you had chased someone else and returned, their timer will be almost up and you'll be able to wait it out in under 10 seconds. It's fairly easy to avoid.
Borrowed Time, I'll let y'all debate that all you want. Again, it can be mostly avoided by not going for the same guy and instead hitting the unhooker. If you hit them before they get the unhook, you can hit them again right after they finish the unhook and you'll still have someone on the hook in the end.
But why not just get rid of the infinites? It's not hard to stop them from spawning if you change how the RNG worked on the maps that had them - or even to just flatout remove what causes them.
Infinites are something that are far more frustrating to deal with than any perk in the game for Survivor. They are the true problem in the game, and should be removed. That way the perks that Survivors have wouldn't feel so bad in the trials as a Killer - and nerfing perks to accomodate them wouldn't be needed.
These loops have plagued the game for years now, and they still haven't been removed. But why?

@[Deleted User] said:
"We prefer to analyze a character for some time after release, before buffing or nerfing them"
So you just massively nerf one literally days after he comes out because "It wasn't intended"? Well it could have been fixed before he went live, instead you pushed him out with that still a thing, and then nerfed him by removing it, he literally dropped an entire block on the tier list.
Now I am fine with that, but if you are nerfing him under that guise and not even giving him time to see if it's okay, then you should be buffing demogorgon already by now, or rather fixing his bloody technical issues he HAS HAD SINCE LAUNCH.
I've come to realise that since GF came out, new Killers get unreasonable changes simply because they 'weren't intended'. Which makes zero sense at all considering that the PTB exists to cancel this out prior to release.
Once the product goes live, and the product has been purchased - any immediate changes feel completely unwarranted if they aren't game breaking (e.g. GF had to be changed because you could hear his cloak flapping so loudly in stealth lol).
The Oni having the flick added his Skill, and removing it after weeks of prior testing feels like robbery, but of cause as is always touted "all content is subject to change".
This is why I am no longer buying anything on release anymore. It's just not worth it if what you buy is absolutely useless within two weeks. ๐

True you have a point but i main legion now lol wraith helps me get bp . I just need to see if im going against swf before i dive in match. Legion isnt hard to play but sometimes they are . Just depends how i play and the team . But yeah its fine i just gotta be more careful too lol
Boneclapper is so fun to use and satisfying its crazy. Wraith is also my main but id probably use him if i get super deranked ๐คฃ๐
I'll always love Legion. No matter how many times they get changed, and they are one of the best BP farmers in the game (along with Wraith and Doc).
I agree, it is always about the teams you get which unfortunately you don't get a feel for until a couple of minutes in the trial haha.
Wraith is fun, I really like him. One of the few killers that give the game its scare factor still. ๐

Why show the killer's aura then? There must be a reason, I wonder what could that reason be.
On Killers that aren't Stealth Killers and don't rely on that to be their power, yeah. In any case, if the devs really feel like it is that big an issue they can just implement it.
I'm just saying that people will use the buff as an excuse for other perks to get the same treatment, and everyone knows how much OoO got abused when GF got released.

I think you're really dense or really confused. I'm not arguing camping isn't a thing or camping should be reportable. I'm saying kindred should trump stealth killers like it used to, that's it's purpose. It's supposed to be an info perk and an anti camping perk.
No need for nastiness, it would be nice to keep these discussions civil.
I'm saying that because of perks in the past like OoO being able to reveal stealth killers that giving Kindred the ability to do the same would open the floodgates for other perks to get this too.
It's purpose is to tell you if someone is going for the save already, not just if the killer is nearby. It's an info perk, but not an anti-camper perk any longer. That was the point.
-
In a way, I love SWFs because they think that you are stupid as a Killer from the get go.
@leslie4445 said:
Yeah bros ive had ppl run behind me being so cocky. Its annoying
This is an example, and I just get a free down from them because of it. SWF have access to more information than Solo Survivors. But you can abuse this.
If you play Stealth Killers such as Wraith and GF against them, you can make them play more cautious than usual and sow seeds of doubt into each other's callouts. Bone Clapper and Coxcombed Clapper always keep survs guessing (as Wraith), and even the best SWFs will still fail to play around this the whole game as they won't see it coming.
SWFs are far more annoying to deal with than SoloQ Survivors, but they can easily be manipulated into poor decisions.
-
@badster said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/921193#Comment_921193
"It's not reportable so it's not an issue" is really bad logic. The same killers who argue "camping is a valid strategy" are the same ones that complain about ds and other survivor strategies.
DS is in the game, it isn't going to die and Killers have to deal with that too. Camping is the same, and this strategy is not used at the better ranks as everyone knows how to deal with it as it will give you an insta-loss.
If something is part of the game, you have to unfortunately play around it as much as you can. Both sides have to. Try playing Killer at the better ranks and you'll see that you cannot camp in order to do anything.
Bad killers will camp a Survivor out. I also want to make it clear that every Survivor coming in for the save as soon as the Survivor was hooked wouldn't be camping as the Killer is literally being offered free hits/downs for nothing.

You're right but I still agree with OP, kindred should work on undetectable. You want to camp you flip the coin that survivors have it or not.
I disagree as it would open a can of worms to other perks. OoO was bad enough when it revealed stealth killers. I do not wish to see a repeat of this in the future.

Then they should move 16 meters or more from the hook, especially camping ghostfaces who just like to sit there and stalk the saver.
A killer has the right to play how they want as long as its following the rules of the game.
-
@RakimSockem said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/921169#Comment_921169
They would not be pointless because kindred has a radius. If the killer is not camping, kindred won't affect their stealth. Your argument that kindred showing undetectable people in a certain range of the hook makes their power useless is simply not true. Walk away from the hook and do something else. Easy
As stated numerous times, camping is a strategy recognised by the devs. It is a poor strategy but it is still one that is completely fine with the game's rules. My last point covers what to do if you find out the hooked survivor is camped.
Why do killers need to follow a handbook for Survivors? Just get on with doing gens.
-
@badster said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/921127#Comment_921127
Because knowing if someone was camping with undetectable would make a whole killer useless?
No, because taking the stealth part of their power away makes them useless over other killers, i.e. why play Wraith, GF, etc. They would be pointless because an easily equippable perk (which is absolutely amazing as is btw) takes their power away. That is not balanced at all.
Punish the Killer for poor gameplay by gen rushing and forcing them to depip on the 1K if you can't save the hooked Survivor. Playing hero gets you killed for no reason.
