Honestly, you should be able to DC during death hook animation at least..

    Beyond that though, nah.

What's the point, it'll only save a few seconds - I'd rather the devs focus on fixing bugs than putting in the effort to code this honestly.

So why are they completely destroying Pop? Nobody will use it with the proposed changes. If they were going to fairly nerf it they should have changed the effect to be 17.5% so when you add the 2.5% it still removes 20% of a generator's total progress with a single kick.

BT is literally the only meta perk in the list that got buffed. Everything else got a negative adjustment. BT needs a negative adjustment or it will be even more meta.

Not to mention how they have completely Ruined Ruin. It's a completely garbage perk now.

All I'll say is why pair botany knowledge and self care when you can use the healing boon instead for a way faster heal, this is what I worry about. and IW imo was a good nerf as crouching helps muffle grunts which more likely would work good enough. Also isn't lucky break getting buffed and it does what Iron will does AND hides your blood pools so maybe instead of focusing on certain perks we wait until the ptb comes out. On the topic tho I do find it weird buffing bt when it will be basekit. I'm happy that I can replace bt with kindred now tho

Exactly - and in particular if you combine BK & CoH you get back to slightly better than original CoH healing speeds, if my math is right! (Note: My math may be wrong but it'll be close regardless).

Self care and botany knowledge is not stronger than before.

The old self care botany knowledge would heal you in 24 seconds (16/.5×1.33)

The new one heals you in 32 seconds, just 2 seconds faster than the old perk on its own (16/.35×1.5)

But Botany Knowledge + CoH is now back to better than original CoH healing times. Broken OP as always.

    • If you can recover fast enough with 8 stacks of STBFL with the new buffed attack recovery speed to completely deny a solo unhook trade.
    • How DH can be used. People say there is still an animation. Does that mean you can't really use it before vaulting/pulling down a pallet? How does it work now?
    • Deja Vu now gives a 5% gen repair speed boost on certain gens. How is this when combined with Prove Thyself and a good toolbox? And how is it when you also use Resilience and Overzealous (or if you feel like it No Mither to get Resilience value instantly). Very fast gens?
    • How good is Botany Knowledge value with WGLF/We'll Make It/CoH or even Desperate Measures? Healing should be super quick now, especially if you use a medkit too. I can imagine using CoH and Botany Knowledge to essentially bring CoH back to its old healing speeds.
    • How insane is buffed Hope and No One Left Behind with Guardian and Blood Pact? Along with the base unhook haste speed? That's 35% haste speed for a few seconds, 14% of which lasts for the rest of the game.

I can imagine that with some bully SWF's against a 110% killer in end game with 14% haste forever, the killer will end up opening the gate to force the game to end.

Yeah, the CoH + Botany looks to bring things back to original CoH speed, which is just insane.

Its the same as ds if someone heals you it goes away. Even though its bhvr they arent that stupid.

Sorry dude, but DS doesn't act like that at all.

  • OTR is going to be absolutely horrific in the endgame.

  • @KolbyKolbyKolby said:

Someone with Botany and We'll Make It heals you with a medkit in 5 seconds and Bubba comes right back to hook and downs you to intentionally kill you earlier. How is that not tunneling enough to warrant DS?

Even worse, Botany & We'll Make It inside CoH. Hell, just new Botany + CoH is back to original CoH healing rates.

  • Prove you wrong?

BHVR: We want to change the meta

Also BHVR: We buffed BT in both duration and added haste.

  • Solo survivors can still be tryhards. Look at the screenshot in question.

  • BHVR: Let's change the meta!

    Also BHVR: Let's buff BT!

we always said approximately 40...CoH was previously adjusted and not scheduled for this update at all.

CoH's "adjustment" was less than 2 seconds on Self-Care and even less on all other healing - as others have said, combining it with Botany is going to be back to original-CoH level healing speeds.

No matter how much BHVR denies it, CoH is massively overpowered.

  • @FeelsBadMan said:

Its about the fact people like this killer bring the most 'tryhard' stuff and then continue to play like idiots (eg. this guy came back to EVERY hook) to ensure the survivors gain as little as possible while they will happily take the free extra bloodpoints from the survivors.

    Tryhard?

I'm seeing a lot of meta perks on the survivors there.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3019977#Comment_3019977

No see i dont use perks so the base kit buffs for killer are detrimental to looping.

Dude, if you're self-limiting by not using a major part of the game then you don't really have a leg to stand on.

  • Meanwhile Ruin is weeping in the corner.

  • Especially considering that you can have OTR and get healed (by another survivor) without losing it - so full-health with Endurance for 80 seconds.

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

Genuinely at a loss for words.

Half of the dev update just felt like changes for the sake of changes with little rhyme or reason.

Like why did Self-Care need a nerf pls

In particular, given that their reasoning for the Self-Care nerf was:

"Having a consistent and reliable way to heal at will is a powerful tool in the right hands. On top of that, Self-Care increases the efficiency of Med-Kits, allowing Survivors to squeeze additional heals out of them."

So Self-Care was too strong but CoH was just fine? It gives a far bigger bonus to all 4 survivors for just one perk slot and can be re-set if lost!

    The logic escapes me.

  • It's now in line with the duration of a pallet stun - maybe they're trying to standardise things?

They should have buffed the aura reading duration to compensate.

Agreed - BBQ & WGLF both lost their BP bonus but WGLF got a compensatory buff while BBQ got zilch.

  • @Sheridan_LT said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3019567#Comment_3019567

Bloodweb got 4 times easier to level up so that BBQ thing is irrelevant, agreed on everything else.

My point wasn't that they removed the BP bonus, it was that they removed the BP bonus from both BBQ and WGLF but WGLF got a buff to compensate while BBQ just got the nerf.

So much for Sluzzy's "Nothing but survivor nerfs".

  • Killer meta perks nerfed: 7

    Survivor meta perks nerfed: 5

Survivor meta perks massively buffed: 1

    Killer non-meta perks buffed: 10

    Survivor non-meta perks buffed: 16

BBQ lost it's BP bonus. WLGF lost it's BP bonus but got buffed.

Plus basekit BT with an added haste.

Plenty for survivors to be happy about.

  • @Peanits said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3014545#Comment_3014545

We're very aware of that (we actually mentioned exactly that in the dev update). However, we do not want people to always have one perk slot locked in just for bloodpoints. Your perk choices should be the perks you want to run, not the ones that make the grind manageable. There was very little reason to run other aura reading perks when this one gave both information and doubled your bloodpoints.

We made sure to pair this with a huge grind reduction and new ways to earn bloodpoints to compensate, but this is ultimately a step that we need to take.

So what's the justification for ripping out the BP bonus in both BBQ and WGLF but then buffing only WGLF - the survivors got something in compensation for removing BP from their perk but killers didn't. Given that this update nerfed 7 meta killer perks but only 5 meta survivor perks (plus greatly buffing BT on the survivor side) this is a very one-sided update. Even the non-meta perks BHVR have improved 10 killer perks and 16 survivor perks - it's bad enough facing 4 vs 16 perks but to heavily upgrade one side in a "balancing" change?

  • @Aneurysm said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3018877#Comment_3018877

A reduction in hit cooldown, survivor distance gained and pallet breaking time will add up, even if the numbers are small by themselves.

I think we'll have to see how it goes, but to be honest this is still a lopsided "balance" update. Not only giving basekit BT but buffing BT as well? Longer duration PLUS extended haste? Far from making it less meta it's going to become the new DH, you'll see it on every survivor. I know they said that since there's basekit BT less people will take BT itself, but have they ever played this game? Seriously?

  • Given that they haven't changed MMR which only rewards Kills, this changes nothing. Camping & tunnelling are still the most viable options.

  • Yeah, Off the Record is going to become one of the most meta perks for survivors - 80 seconds Endurance in Endgame? They could run the length of the many maps!

  • @Krazzik said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3018261#Comment_3018261

But killer got much stronger basekit buffs than survivor.

Seriously? Basekit BT immunity PLUS an extra speed boost PLUS the other buffs? I don't see how the killer getting a minor gen slowdown & slight increase in M1 hit speed balances that out.

  • Given the large imbalance in the nerfs vs buffs in favour of Survivors this is disappointing at the least.

What I mean by the imbalance is as follows:

Killer Meta 7 nerfed, Survivor Meta 6 nerfed

Killer Normal 10 buffed, Survivor Normal 16 buffed.

  • @BeccaDenson said:

Hello, I just made an account just for one thing as you can see the title

I'm a survivor main for 90% of the time and an average killer at best and I'm always playing solo, I don't get mad when I'm losing and I'm not celebrating like a crazy dude when I'm winning, however there's something that always pissing me off, that's right, I got tunnelled or facecamped for whatever reason, except for being toxic, I swear I'm not toxic

The thing is when a killer plays that way, not only they won't get punished but they're getting rewarded for that, taking someone out as quick as possible, teammates wasting their time leaving gens to unhook me just to get back on hook, the easiest and cheapest way to get a kill, now it's 3 vs 1 and easier match I suppose, it's so unfair when a killer like me tries to hook everyone and end up getting 1k but the other gets ez 3k spending the least amount of skill and win

They say when you see a camping Bubba just do gens but I'm afraid I can't do 3 gen in 2 minutes he already got 1k and he's seeking for the 2nd kill using HEX:NOED and do you think was it really a fun match?

Shouldn't killers actually earn their kills by using their skill, I mean I believe a camper/tunneller doesn't deserve 1k

Playing as survivor requires way more skill and just one wrong move means death meanwhile camping/tunnelling are easiest way to get someone killed

I'm not taking it too serious but I'm trying to have fun how am I suppose to have fun when I'm dead on my first hook? and how that killer is satisfied getting one kill while he barely even tried? is he actually more of a skilled or what? I can't even understand how is that even fun for killer, this also creates more toxic environment if that's makes sense, DS is meant to delays the inevitable and not stopping the killer, Same goes for BT (unless if you're in end game collapse situation and these perks are life saviours) please consider punishing that playstyle by some rules or otherwise remove penalties camping/tunnelling is just as bad as DCing, both are meant to ruin the fun except campers/tunnellers/ getting rewarded instead of penalized

I'm not that much of a jerk, BHVR can buff killers anyway they want in the cost of punishing Camping/Tunnelling

All I want is to have fun and if I lose, I lose while me and the killer both tried our best, and I would cheer that killer for being better

My main point is: Unskilled play shouldn't lead the killer to win at all, Imagine me being bad and keep tunnelling/camping and winning but if there's going to be a rule that's stopping from doing that I'll be forced to get better instead of being bad

Camping/tunnelling should be legal when there's no gen left to patrol, that's understandable but otherwise it shouldn't be legal

I hope you guys can understand me, good luck and peace out

Thanks for one of the best laughs I've had all week.

You weren't serious about that BS you stated, right?

welp when they change the base mechanic to something better than gen simulator youll understand, also a killer who can be looped who is good can win, so a killer with antiloop who is good can be even more oppressive. looping should be possible with every killer dang near. just not obsessive.

You've often commented that Demo is very strong in 1v1. That's kinda the point - all killers should be strong in 1v1 otherwise every game will turn into a ROFLSTOMP by the survivors.

As others have pointed out, there are other killers far nastier in 1v1 than Demo-dog.

  • Isn't it bad enough that they're actually making a Dating Sim??

Please for the love of all that's good, no Fortnite dances!

  • After you trudge halfway across the map to find it. CoH is the only boon that gets max benefit out of being put far away from the active gens. Pity the poor Hag or Trapper who have to leave their defended area and slowly walk across the map then back again to stop the auto-heals.

And then it's back before Trapper makes it back to his trapped area.

  • For some insane reason CoH isn't on the list, so it'll continue to be broken OP.

  • @Nathan13 said:

COH has already been nerfed twice I think it’s fine now.

The sum total of the two CoH "nerfs" has been to reduce the speed of self-heal by 2 seconds and altruistic healing (medkits, healing others) by far less.

    That's not a nerf, it's a joke.

  • @Audiophile said:

Look, I appreciate the few, more level headed comments here. But being toxic is being a jerk unnecessarily by definition. There is no NEED to play toxic. And lets clarify something here… I’m talking about high level play… former ‘red ranks’. By the quality of some of the replies I’d say that eliminates about 3/4 of you. If you are a good / red rank / high mmr killer, the only time you get ‘bullied’ is by a good / red rank / high mmr 4 man swf. The rest of the time you’re facing solos with quits / dcs / bad matchmaking / no comms etc. You can NOT tell me that the majority of killer matches are against 4 man red rank swfs. If you play toxic it’s because you want to be a jerk and that comes through loud and clear in your game play, your post game chat, these posts…everywhere. Lots of killers just like to play like jerks.

A survivor doesn’t have that luxury unless they manage to get lucky with a strong team and a weak killer. Flashlight saves are hard and require skill. Sabotage is risky. And both are mostly utilized for a legitimate reason - burn up killer time to get gens done so we can escape. Which comes back to my earlier point. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had a killer play toxically and then complain about genrushing post game… yet… no fancy toolboxes or PT was run… no swf even. They just got beat by normal gameplay and call it genrushing and turn toxic.

And come on… face camping bubba is so common it’s been around for years and I still face them in about 5 - 10% of my games. Start game, catch someone, camp. There’s no justification other than a desire to be toxic.

So yeah before you say toxicity exists on both sides… think about how skill enters into the picture and what is legitimate gameplay vs nonsensical toxicity. Killers have the market cornered on that.

I'm sorry, but I have to point out this statement of yours: "Flashlight saves are hard and require skill. Sabotage is risky. And both are mostly utilized for a legitimate reason - burn up killer time to get gens done so we can escape".

I'll break that down if I may.

    1. "Flashlight saves are hard and require skill". Well, unless you include the BS locker-blinds that work from impossible angles, require zero skill and are a classic bullying tactic from survivors.
    2. "Sabotage is risky". Fair, no disagreement. Risk vs Reward is pretty well balanced.
    3. "Both are mostly used for a legitimate reason" Which is exactly the same case with camping and tunnelling! In the early game if you don't tunnel out one survivor then your chances of getting even a 2k are miniscule, so it's most definitely a legitimate reason and not just being toxic. Similarly, especially in the EGC if you have a survivor on the hook why on earth would you leave the area? You have no more gens to patrol and your best bet is to hope that the other players are feeling altruistic.

So I think you need to take a step back and reconsider what you're labelling as "Toxic" despite being stated many times by the devs as legit tactics.

Now as to facecamping I would agree that there is little point to it (Insidious Basement Bubba memes aside) but that's far rarer than proxy camping or tunnelling.

  • @Audiophile said:

No. You don’t get to equate an anecdotal bad game to the avalanche of toxic killer games. 90% of the toxicity in this game is camping/tunnelling killers. Killers act like every game is a SWF gen rush with flashlights. No. I have 10k+ hours in this game, most as a solo. They’re almost all 3k and 4ks because matchmaking is terrible. Killers get huge amounts of easy games from bad matchmaking, afks, dcs, etc, and then toss in the incredible amount of camping and tunnelling and then toss in the number of games where they run their S and A tier killers with (or even without) their top addons… please lets not perpetuate this myth of the poor beat up killer.

There’s simply no need to face camp, camp, tunnel… ESPECIALLY during an event where everyone earns tons more if you just knock off the toxicity.

The fact that you call camping and tunnelling "toxic" says it all.

  • The fact that Circle of Healing isn't part of their list is concerning.

  • @Sluzzy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3005334#Comment_3005334

I don't think anybody is asking killers to farm, but to play in a way that is fair. Playing fair makes a much more fun match, gives survivors at least a slight chance of escaping.

Survivors can't make any points unless the killer cooperates.

Oh, it's fair you're wanting now - and "fair" by whose definition? Camping, tunnelling and slugging are all legit tactics as stated multiple times by the devs.

It's not "fair" that you're asking for, it's "Play the game the way I want".

    No.

  • @Kaitsja said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3000688#Comment_3000688

It's not really undefined. It's not proxy camping if you're too far from the hook to make it back to prevent or interrupt a rescue. It is proxy camping if you're patroling back and forth between the hooked survivor and a couple of nearby gens.

You basically defined the radius yourself with this paragraph:

I have often been accused of camping when i hook someone literally travel to check 1 or 2 gens and patrol back to hook, then go away do the same until the unhook. I time this in such a way that I can add pressure to a solid portion of the map and time that when the save happens i can end up close by or at least on the way.

You wouldn't be able to end up close by if you were patroling a far distance away, so logic dictates that it needs to be close enough that it doesn't take long to go from A to B and back again.

Okay, so with this definition of Proxy Camping it's pretty clear that there is nothing wrong with Proxy Camping as it is most definitely not Face Camping. The Devs have stated that they're looking at ways to discourage Face Camping but have no issues with Proxy Camping.

So we're all agreed that Proxy Camping is legit and fine yes?

  • I've seen a video suggesting using Merciless Storm on Doctor and y'know, I'm really liking the idea... <evil grin>

Oh sorry mr officer, I didn't know I have to record the whole match and upload it here just so people like you won't be able to deny the reality.

Also a Billy can't ignore the ingame laws. If a Billy gets a 4 man slug, said killer actually has skill and knows how to play him. On Nurse all you need is purple range and green recharge and even someone without thumbs can 4 man slug.

So you have nothing but your own opinion to back yourself up and a sad reductio ad absurdum opinion on Nurse's difficulty level.

Well, that settles the question as to whether your argument has any validity.

  • Yeah, that particularly sucks as Bubba & Billy.

Edit: I haven't tried it yet but possibly even worse with a Demo shred - need to test!

So I've been playing a bit of Dredge lately and could instantly notice that you cant teleport to lockers than are next to hooked players, which obviously is good dont get me wrong! but recently I discovered that you can still enter the locker if you stand right infront of it, I do understand that if you linger in a locker for too long that the lockers shows it, but I feel like it shouldnt be a thing that you can enter this "blocked" locker.... SWF wont have a problem since 95% of them have comms, but what about solo queue players, they will have a few problems with it

(added a small video as proof)

Every time I hear the whole "just do bones" argument, I just have to ask you all: Have you ever played solo Q before?

Sure, let me just get my three random teammates, who I can't communicate with in any way, to realize that the killer is only running three perks and that therefore NOED is in play so someone needs to to all 5 bones. Also, you don't know how many bones are left in the match so a teammate might go searching for a totem already done. Now, if said killer turns out to be running pentimento, I guess you are just screwed.

"Just Do Bones" is the most Killer-Biased Statement the same way that "Just Wait for DH" is the most Survivor-Biased Statement.

In just one statement you clearly show case a complete and utter lack of understanding of what the other side has to do in order to win.

If you unironically think that "Do Bones" is a legitimate strategy against NOED, I can say without a doubt that you do not understand the balancing of the game. For example, Why survivors even think NOED is in play before the endgame in the first place? There is no warning before it activates!

It does not shock me that the people who support NOED have no understanding of the games mechanics because only bad killers use NOED. If you are good at the game, other perks can be far more effective. You use NOED if you are either using an End Game Build, or you can't keep gens up and secure a kill.

Full Disclosure, the main reason why I hate NOED has everything to do with how BHVR balances their game and Wraith. They love their statistics, especially their kill rates. Guess which perk heavily screws with that data? NOED. Guess which M1 killer got nerfed after being just decent because a bunch of people played him with NOED? Wraith.

I am sorry for being so rude, but "Just Do Bones" and "Just Wait for DH" are my two personal most hated arguements that I keep seeing pop up again and again.

    "

So nothing to do with the actual gameplay after all. Colour me unsurprised.
