For all the reasons I already mentioned. Simple as that.
Oh, and Ruin encouraged the killer to leave the hook? More like encouraged to camp to have a chance after it was gone in 30 seconds and now you only had 3 perks.

Because, like I said, it wasn't worth bringing anymore. However, it's existence is one of the reasons gen regression was never increased and gen speed wasn't reduced in years. Devs literally said once they didn't want to buff gen regression because "regression is already good enough with Ruin", and old toolboxes and great skill checks were only nerfed because Ruin had been reworked.
To balance the game around perks just creates "x" meta. Perks need to be adjusted to suit the game or else its just the tail wagging the dog.
The current state of how players player is due to the state of the game rather than perks, Why kick gens when regression is rubbish and survs can insta tap stop it. It's better to tunnel so survs can't repair than to actively try to stop repair.

Hello Mr/Mrs Whataboutism. How are you today?
Did i talked about survivor perks? Did i said they are fair? No? Thanks for your time. See you later <3
Hello Mr/Mrs Tunnelvision I hope this letter finds you well.
Although you didn't mention survivor perks, you specifically called out a 2nd chance killer perk that rewards failure, well choosing to ignore several survivor perks that do the same.
Hope you have a pleasant day and manage to take those blinkers off sometime today.
Regards.
P.S Incase you're not aware of what "Blinkers" im referring to i've enclosed this link to help educate you if required.
Blinkers are usually made of leather or plastic cups placed on either side of a horse's eyes - attached either to a bridle or to an independent hood. -

No, perk is still rewarding bad play. I am not happy with change at all, they did not even change base problem of Noed.
Like every 2nd chance survivor perk?
If you don't get hooked or injured you wouldn't need bt/ds/dh

You need another survivor with body block, Sabo, Breakout to help one out of a hook. You cant slap a single perk on yourself and ensure escape. I would prefer Boil over increase stun by 1sec if you escape from grasp, thats it.
I really wish the developers would increase the time a Sabo'ed hook stays broken to 3 minutes so you can use it preemptively instead of it only being a help-a-survivor-escape-only perk.
It's just too niche right now but has potential to have other uses. Also, there's so many hooks everywhere that sabo'ing one hook is pretty useless.
Then swfs would stack it and half a map would be a deadzone/ slug/camp fest.

Surv mains doing challenges.

Most online gamers are just donkeys for no reason other than to just be a donkeys.
If they could'nt communicate in chat, they'd just stand around inside the gate more being donkeys.
-
As a Huntress main i have to moonwalk (badly) and mind game alot, here slower speed on loops makes it requirement as not every wall you can hatchet over,
and those that you should be able to throw over you cant because you're next to them and Anna has sore shoulders so she can't raise a hatchet high enough to throw over a car bonnet.
-
They just need to slightly blend with the surface they are put on, like army camouflage, they need to be hard to see but not impossible.

I don't understand what you're saying. The person I was responding to was saying that stalling is pointless during the end game, and I was explaining how it wasn't. I know that Traps don't activate anymore at that point in the game, but that doesn't actually diminish the point I'm trying to make at all.
The person you quote in my original post was refering to its pointless to stall a game at ecg, he was refering to the use of traps after ecg.
So in game traps are used mainly to stall the game, not to give kills, however once ecg has become traps become no longer viable to stall the game. Which is what this thread is about traps and their uses etc, Not about some ecg build, but how traps work during ecg.

There is no need for macro flash light apart from harassment.

"If the gates are powered, stalling is no longer required."
That is in no way true. Otherwise, we wouldn't have perks that slow down the process of opening the Exit Gates or actively stop Survivors from escaping.
As far as EGC, just pause the EGC timer as long as someone is wearing an active RBT.
When referring to traps it is true.
The trap cannot be activated after ecg has started. So your semantics are pointless.
-
Changing perks won't change play styles, different perks will become meta instead.
Until base changes are made, it will be sprint burst/lithe in 80% of games instead.
-
Yup always used it for information. Huntress main so info for sniping is great, maybe if i ever unlock that Dredge locker talent i'll replace it but im not spending 9k shards for 1 perk.

Give the killer an incentive to leave the hook completely and an actual win condition and all this complaining will stop. All this complaining consists of compensating survivors more because the killer tries to win. It is a fact that the survivors objective is far faster than the killers and so the killer has to take desperate measures to have a chance to win. Imo if they made scourge hook: gift of pain basekit for every hook it would be a great incentive to go for someone else since the hooked survivor will be penalised after being unhooked.
This, it doesn't have to be a reward per say, at least an objective would be nice. Kicking gens is relatively pointless, however survs can't repair gens when dead.
-
Pig has a great kit, but its very underwhelming.
Ambush is pretty horribad, her lunge takes to long and she is fairly easily spotted, unless you're on a indoor map with lots of constricted views it's hard to get value from it.
Traps are ok but you'll be lucky to get more than 1 kill with a trap in 20 games, i wish they would give her traps a buff so that they were more intimidating. She's really just a crap m1 killer.

"Making less frequently used perks viable by nerfing current meta perks into obscurity is the wrong way to go about balancing a game."
Absolutely false. It is the BEST way to balance the game. Trying to buff existing perks up to level of Dead Hard is insane thinking.
Making base changes to the game would be better than just surfing to find the new meta in perks.
Until secondary objectives become meaningful for killers, i.e gens and boons, then the meta will still be camp/tunnel/stomp. You might use different perks to do it, but its still going to the be the most time/value efficient way for killers to play to play competitively.
And survs will find different meta perks to survive the afore mentioned play style.
Take the new perk to stomp bones into dust, if it had have been basekit, rather than this bandaid perk, more killers might be actively looking for bones to stomp, rather than just defusing when you happen to find it. If kicking gens stacked and required more than 0.1 sec to stop the regression killers might give up a chase to kick a gen. But at the moment and probably after the patch the best way to stop gens being repaired is to nuke survs.
Even if you don't have dead hard now the best way for me to "win" still is going to be removing survivors so they can't repair gens rather than attempting to slow it.
-
Make gen kicking meaningful without perks.
-
Playing Huntress works better with him.
-
Sprint burst is better anyway.
Nothing says im going to drop a chase like sprint burst.
It also helps you not leaving scratch marks everywhere.

The giant shower room has like, eight, but you can't even make one for an entire quarter of the map?
Well showers are good way to meet friends though?
-
I'd rather a game like this than 90% of games where survs stand inside the gate for no reason other than just to waste time.
-
@Mandy said:
Reducing the strength of the majority of the perks was necessary if you want to do things from a balanced view. Base game changes were also included as well.
There is no way you can buff a perk so that it would be as useful as Dead Hard for example, without it being completely overpowered in regular play - hence the need to rework the current meta perks and buff/rework other perks so that they will replace the meta...and give people a chance to use other perks without feeling like they need to use specific perks.
I totally understand that players get attached to certain perks and feel a sense of loss when things change - we saw it previously with Hex Ruin. But that's part of the fun of a live game, that things like that can and will change - shaking up the meta is a great way to breathe freshness into the game. We've all complained about seeing the same builds over and over, and this is really going to change that up a bit.
You could change the meta without having to adjust every perk.
Make gen kicking and regression meaningful then killer's wouldn't need to tunnel/nuke/camp to stop gens getting done. Then survs wouldn't need 3, 2nd chance perks.

This monthly reset needs to somehow stop or only reset you to the most immediate level before. Going back to ash from iridescence gets you in 12 bad games out of 10. It's honestly unbearable. It's not fun. 2 dead people, no gens done. People hiding all over and doing nothing. Everyone running to save at the same time, etc etc... Killers from top rank are now playing here vs a salad of very few good survivors and a lot of newbies and the experience is not good most of the time.
That's matchmaking which is nothing to do with monthly ranks.
Some games you play with potatoes, sometimes you get gigachad.
This can happen for a variety of reasons.
-
The decent players will adapt and survive. The crap players will wahhhhh about their dead hard crutch being gone and quit.
-
Doubt it would happen, it's a Qol patch next, so the next 17 are going to be $ patches.
-
End game chat is mostly a pointless exercise for killers, it's a place survs either insult killers, who played in "X" manner, or a place to self congratulate.

1. Chase them out
2. Break pallets/walls (I've hardly ever capped my bloodpoints on them by the time a match is over)
3. Go get a drink/snack
4. Break the cycle of hate. People are less likely to teabag if they don't get camped or tunneled often.
Of course at the moment there is a chance people are not leaving because they are still looking for the invitation. Similar to other challenges (Gnome, Green Glyphs).
Or they could just leave. Or is it only killers who have to behave in a certain way.

Well let's just say treat others like you want yourself to be treated.
Such fine sentiments don’t work. I’m tired of waiting in survs to leave a game it just wastes my time. And yes I shouldn’t have to make you leave to stop my time being wasted.

So because you can't handle waiting a maximum of 2 minutes (4 if you slug/hook), you're going to make it extremely difficult for others to enjoy the event and earn their rewards?
Edit: Also, in this situation you presented, you're in control of whether or not they stay. If they're actually waiting it out, chances are you aren't trying to end the game.
So how often do you think I have to wait in survs to leave, I’d say it’s over 70% of my games.
and tell me why should I have to force survs out who can leave? Standing at the gate with nothing to achieve just wastes my time. So I’m returning the favour.

Meanwhile, some of us don't have all the masks because of people who share this thought process and just tunnel the first person they see out of the game.
Do it as a killer, it's alot easier. Spam dead dog.
i tunnel people because im sick of my time being wasted at the exit gates. If people started leaving when they can i wouldn't be such a sole.

And on the other side of the map there will be no hooks for miles.

Most people who care about getting challenges done don't like to play with the "it'll happen when it happens" attitude, especially not for a tome which we only have 2 weeks on.
I've only got 12 hours myself as im on a plane in the morning overseas for 3 weeks, so ill miss it. But my pallet eating challenge was done in maybe 4-10 games.

Yes, it's a conspiracy to make money at the expense of killers. That's why Nurse and Blight have been taken down so SWFs don't have any competition and spend more money.
Wait.
And the other 23? killers?
Thats why we have this event and a new killer and surv rather than perk fixing as a priority. Thats why we have had lots of communications about what they are going to do with swf v solo balance.
Wait.

I can't decide if it's more arrogance or condescension to say "no, I literally cannot get better with killer, SWFs are just completely unbeatable, and if I can't you can't either, liar".
They're not unbeatable they just help skew the ability to have some form of balance in the game.
And the fact the developers refuse to do anything about this just says were their priorities are. Making money.

######### like this makes me question if they're putting awful challenges like this in so that both sides play worse during the event so bad players on the other side feel like they're doing better and getting 'bullied' less for the event. The result is just both sides being mad at these ######### challenges though.
It wasn't that bad it happens often enough without trying.

Well if your contribution goes past 40 you'll know.

And the killer challenge that's the same is let yourself be stunned then land a hit.
