That means stopping the objective. And most maps lockers are far away so that means most of the time it is a huge detriment. BBQ has way too much power in that regard. No survivor perk has that much power throughout the entire match.
Yeah, imagine 4 survivor would have as much power as one killer. Who is gonna win then lol.

Survivor meta will change when camping and tunneling is not a thing. Period.
That's a thing, because of this meta. It's a cycle, that will never end, if they don't take the first step to nerf any side first.

Same could be said to anyone that is tunneled down. Take the L and move on?
You want people to get rid of DS before the game end stage, they will slam you down and pick you up after a hook, to put you back on it... aren't you now just telling people to tunnel to get rid of your perk charges or accept the consequences.
Killers should play for their own enjoyment, survivors tend to focus on their gameplan and use all the meta perks. There is nothing wrong with a killer doing the same: tunneling, slugging, proxy camping or 3 gen camping if it is in your benefit to do so... go for it.
And so the toxic cycle will never end.

I've been there too. I play both sides as well.
If I get DS'd, I might get annoyed since I never tunnel anyone. But that's where it ends. I'm even GLAD to eat it if they run straight at me since it's no longer a problem.
I do, though, feel sorry for the killers that have these perks abused against them without provocation. It does suck and brings down the community.
I do really not care about DS so much, but someone that has to blind me at every dropped pallet is so annoying that i really want to camp this guy.
-
I think he is at least high b-tier if not a-tier. His addons are really good. He is just missing a flick, but maybe that would be considered too strong.
-
People like to argue, that this are top swf players but the killers are top players as well. The swf you encounter in game, are most likely average or above average like yourself, so you have the same issues a top killer has with top swf just at a lower skill level.
SWF is just too unfair, regardless of how sweaty they are, they have just more information about everyhing that a solo would never have about the killer, totems, pallets that are still up and so on.
-
You absolutly need his aura reading addon, otherwise it takes too long to find survivors. Ruin and Undying helps pretty much.
-
Lockers are bad, Windows are good. Run around tight obstacles and hope he makes a mistake so you can get away.
-
It is really good, because let's say you play any killer without stealth, they know exactly where you are. Play trapper and they even see where you put traps the whole time. Most people that use that perk, play in swf, so the whole team knows your location. That perk is just broken unfair.
-
He needs a flick for people that are less experienced (like me).
-
Damn those people that played like 100 hours and think they know everything. Just deal with it or play lego.
-
Undying + Ruin + Surveillance + BBQ with Freddy wrecks hell

If you don't want to do step 1, there's not much you can do. Maybe try Spirit.
I really would to know, seriously, how much hours you have to put in, to be able to get your hits in with blinks. And until then, how frustrating it is, to get steamrolled game after game.
-
They should abandon all of the rankings in my opinion. It's not even good. There are people with 300 hours rank 1 and others with 1000 hours rank 1.

You don't need DS and unbreakable for solo play.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/6FSSWMYGURS8/untitled34234.jpg
This build gives me about a 70% survival rate at rank 1 as solo survivor. I only have about 150 hours in survivor, I'm not very good and I do not run any items or addons, preferring to find them in the trial. If I ran a medkit every game or most games I could probably push my survival rate to 80-90% solo.
You don't need any meta perks, you just feel much safer if you have them. Dumb actions of your fellow survivors are an additional problem.
-
Solo survivor is harder than killer. SWF is easy mode, you can rely on them not to DC or Suicide and get the right perks.
-
He is at least B-Tier, with a flick and minor buffs most likely A-Tier. He has pretty good addons.

This is why I run solo and do gens and only do gens and NOT waste time on needless things. I let the other 3 survivors worry about those other things. My focus is gens and not being caught.
Sounds boring. Exactly the looping is the only fun part about playing survivor, to outplay the killer. Pressing m1 requires no skill in becomes boring pretty fast in my opinion.

I play Freddy a lot but I'm wondering...
How do people even see in the dream world on maps like yamaoka??? Honestly it's SO dark on those maps when in the dream world. Do Freddy players brighten their screens by adjusting the gamma? Or how are you guys able to even see survivors when they're standing there?
Use nvidia freestyle, so you can just change the brightness / contrast / shadows etc. until you find it good. I would never play this game again like in the beginning, because you see jack ######### with any killer in some maps.

yes you can, reintroduce dc penalties
What exactly prevents survivors just to go for suiciding instead? Nothing and they can't do anything about it.
-
That is not even common, you just cherry pick those few games you got green ranks as survivors.
-
The perk is bad. Why? Because the range and duration is too short. If you hit a survivor in the range of a pallet, they just injury sprint through it and to the next pallet, that did not got blocked. If they double the numbers, maybe it would be a good perk.
-
@MrsGhostface said:
Spirit or Freddy. This is coming from someone who plays a fair amount of survivor but more killer. I’ve been playing Spirit lately, assuming she will get a nerf next.
Why? Both are not picked much more than any of the other A or B Tier Killers. You will average about 15 encounters in about 200 games, thats not much.

Absolutely. It is a natural consequence of Undying being combined with other potent Hexes, like say "Ruin." Totems will need to be cleansed to get generators running, and thus, dull Totems will no longer be ignored. The chances that Noed will never activate are substantial against a good team of Survivors.
I don't think undying is such a high issue. Who runs ruin? Low mobility / pressure killer do not really benefit from ruin, where high pressure killers are much stronger now. It's better to combine it with devour on low pressure.
-
Undying has then a cooldown of 120 seconds, if a hex perk other than undying gets cleansed in that timeframe, it is gone for good.

It's not a bug at all. It's just that they made the maps so dark so scratch marks became hard to track. Nothing to do with bugs or anything, just how they changed the graphics. (They could just make the scratch marks brighter).
For every other killer it is fine, but freddys vision is clearly bugged.
-
@AggressiveFTW said:
Yeah, but you could use Bloodhound for now to use for killers now that scratch marks are so hard to see.
Or fix the bug?
-
The smartest survivors spread out and each one works on a gen. So if he chases one, ends the chase prematurely and chases a second one, 2 gens get popped until he hooks one or can chase the other 1 or 2 off the gen. It's nearly impossible not to lose the first 2 or 3 gens in the early mid game to smart survivors.

How do you best use them? I'm not a high rank killer so I don't know how to use dream snares. I think they're best used at vaults or narrow spaces?
You can end loops with them, so they won't make it to the pallet if you place them right where they usually run a circle, but that does not work with freddy, so they have to predrop the pallet or get hit.
-
Snares are much better.
-
1-2 / 10 games is a suicid or dc in solo. So you have to deal with it, you can not change that behaviour.
-
I think, the school map has some sound issues.
-
A totem counter is a good idea, but there are other options to cleanse totems. Map, Detective Perk, Small Game Perk.
The thing is, if you are in red rank and play 100 games, i am pretty sure only about 25-30 games have someone with NOED. I'm currently at 58 games and NOED is not really common.

I'd rather have killers that have a higher skill cap, but are also be very strong when played well. Which I believe is the case with The Blight. The only thing he might need is better turning for his lethal rush lunge.
I don'T even like Billy or Oni with their clumsy steering, that killer is even a bigger nightmare to play.
-
He is a niche killer and i am pretty much sick of it. They should release a killer, that is opressive like Freddy and easy to play. We allready have 3/4 of killers that are weak.
bUt fReDdy nEeDS nO sKill - From the press m1 players
-
It's not a bug, it's a cheat called lag switching. You should just press ESC and watch how high this survivors MS are, probably 1000+.
-
DS, BT, UB, DH
-
Do they release the new killer?
-
It depends on the killer you play against and how good he is. A good looper, can just extend the chase very long, so you have to abandon that guy and go for the others.
-
@OtakuFreak said:
It is a build that gives you immunity for 60 seconds, without any skill required.
So yes, it will be called small pp because that is what it is.
You don't get rewarded for using non-meta perks. The killer will still camp / tunnel you by sheer bad luck and survivors will still hooktrade you without borrowed time, both things you have no control over. So just pick those perks, it does not matter.

Maybe there was intent for it to be a party game, but the way it's currently set up is as a competitive one. Otherwise why the ranks and such obseesion over them? The Emblem System? Maybe take away pips and monthly rank reset and it will feel more relaxed like a party game is meant to be?
The thing that you can play against each other makes it allready competetive.

Then DBD is the wrong game for you. I would suggest playing a game with less RNG if you want to "win regardless of what it is".
Every Player versus Player Game is competetive to a certain degree and nobody can win always, doesn't matter which competetive game or esport it is. If you want to be the best hag player in the world, you have to practice a lot. If you just want to have fun it's ok too.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:

Top Level play is 1% of all games played on DBD. Around something like that.
If you are talking about tournaments - tournaments can be a fun thing, but should not be taken seriously since DBD is a party game.
For you maybe. Some people are just competetive and want to win regardles of what it is.
-
Solo Survivor isn't that horrible, you can still reach red ranks and stay there without any meta perks. But the majority of your games will test your looping skills and if you are bad in that, you will have a hard time (most people have). So you have to be superior in looping, because your teammates are most likely not and go down quickly or try to basement unhook versus a camping trapper or things like that.
-
Small Game, Detectice, Rainbow Map. Easy to get them.
-
@ZephanUnbound said:
Can't say I'm surprised by these results. Generally speaking these are regarded as the meta perks, your best chance of getting to red ranks are using these. I'm a red rank survivor and I often run 3 of these; self-care, dead hard, and iron will. I personally like to run those 3 meta perks and 1 not meta perk just for varieties' sake, usually We're Gonna Live forever for the faster bloodpoints, really wish they would add a gameplay benefit to WGLF though.
I would buff Windows of Opportunity, so it does have no cooldown and you permanently see windows / pallets. It is a big help regards allready used pallets. I am pretty sure, much more beginners would use that perk.
-
I depiped once, even i made it through the exit gates and the killer was not even AFK. Game is hard sometimes, but you should never de-pip as survivor, if you escape through the gate.

survivors get a lot of free information when it comes to powers: how long until someone falls asleep, how long until they're infected, if the obsession is being chased, etc. Information that the killer themselves don't even have access to most of the time.
....But killers don't get a timer for how long its been since they've unhooked a survivor. Thats one of the things a lot of people talk about when they talk about DS' performance without even activating: Not only do you need to not down and pick up that survivor again within that time limit (regardless of whether you've even hooked other survivors in the meantime,) but you need to REMEMBER how long its been since that survivor has been unhooked to boot.
Requiring that extra information WILL affect the way a killer plays. It can cause them to voluntarily sacrifice pressure and/or hooks for the hypothetical scenario of them getting punished for winning twice vs the same survivor *too quickly.* Half the time killers slug, they're pretty much forcing themselves to as it loses less pressure than eating a DS can, especially if they recover right into a strong loop.
Therefore, its strength exists as long as there is an obsession in the match, without even needing to be used. Not only that, but it only loses its strength after it has been used, and only for that survivor. If there is an obsession in the match, 1-4 of them could have DS after all, you have no way of knowing, and could eat up to 4.
A timer for DS to be available to see for killers? Dude, they do not even implement a totem counter, they will never do something like that. I can allready hear the survivor mains crying in the forums.
-
@skarsguts said:
Now do the same with killer and you'll only see BBQ, PGTW, Corrupt, NOED, Discordance, Infectious Fright, Nurse's, Spirit Fury + Enduring. That's nine perks to match your 'data' and is the majority of perks I see killers use at red rank. Also the same slow build used on every Freddy and Legion.
Maybe i will, but it takes longer because if you die early, you have to wait for the match to end to see his / her perks.

I don't believe these results. You don't even have OoO listed on here. I read these forums every day and OoO has broken the game and needs removed. Surely out of those 100 games you had to have many ruined by object correct?
I believe i had about five games with somebody using OoO. It's very rare. One of them played against my aura reading wraith and he disconnected after the first down.
