No, most survivors wouldn't play if the killer is an NPC.
Most of their fun comes from mocking and harrassing another person. If they're doing it to an AI, they'll just go play minecraft or something. That's why survivors get so pissed when they lose and gloat when they win. Its not fun for them unless they make someone else not have fun.
Edit: By survivors I mostly mean SWF
I love it when random people online try to villanize others out of salt. It's weird how people wanting to play with friends instead of randoms makes them spawn of the Earth demon scum according to a lot of you guys.

Like seriously, these posts do nothing. We're all playing the same game that isn't going to die in the foreseeable future as it has no competition. Just stop filling up the fourms with these posts!
For Us vs Them, DBD isn't two different games. Everyone is playing the same game with the same rules, on different sides. No amount of screaming at the other side means anything, as everyone has the same game.
For The Game Is Dying posts, whats going to kill it? VHS? That game didn't even come close to doing anything. The game will die someday, but screaming its going to die because something pissed you off does absoultely nothing.
Tl;dr: Stop ######### posting these types of posts they don't do anything.
I'm so tired of the us v them posts. But what infuriates me more is content creators who only stay relevant because Us v them. Specifically the high mmr blah blah blah ones constantly complaining

Yeah. I personally don't use DCB as I hate its design and it takes all the skill out of playing her, but MDR to me is totally fair game. I don't mind facing it as survivor either for that matter. I kind of view it as just bumping her up to the power level she was supposed to be.
I'm like you. I hate DCB with a passion but if I had more addons on her, I'd run them religiously

Lmao you came here to post your opinion on the game's balance, and then don't want to see anyone who disagrees with you, because you live in delusion that your opinions are facts? And all because they are based on stats that the devs themselves said you shouldn't take for granted when it comes to the game's balance?
The game is not killer sided, and your opinion that it is killer sided is not a fact at all. Whether you want to accept that or not.
How about another fact though. Currently queue times for survivors are worse on average than killer.
Op really tried to argue with me because the logic didn't add up. Wild honestly
-
As killer, you'll never catch me with Noed I'd rather get downs via good gameplay most game than get an insta down I really didn't earn.
As survivor, screw DH. That perk just refuses to work unless I do it early which isn't the 0.5 activation requirement

"90 seconds time saved isn't a big deal when a perk exist that saves 7 seconds per gen by playing innefficient."
What?
Looks like I have to spell it out for people because critical thinking skills are so rare these days. Pain res isn't that big a deal in total regression with A, how many seconds you can shave gen times off, B. The requirement of having at most 4 instances each game to get sad regression, and C. Permanent deactivation of a perk that gets neutered by hook rng.
You guys keep talking about the potential of the perk while actively ignoring the major downsides of the perk. Don't play dumb with responses

you might not know this, but 92 seconds and time spent running is longer than 90 seconds, and one survivor getting chased off a gen and being forced to stop repairing wastes less time than two survivors getting chased off a gen and stopping repairs
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3394794#Comment_3394794
yeah, the logic still works in that scenario because its the toolboxes and other perks in dedicated gen speed builds that are the problem there.
"Prove slows down generators"
"oh but what if you decide to also bring things that speed up generators"
then, instead of reducing gen speed from 90 sec to 92 sec + run time for 2 gens, it'll reduce gen speed from 70 sec to 72 sec + run time for 2 gens. it's still the other stuff doing the work there, prove is still a net negative on your gen speed.
people run prove thyself for the BP bonus, not because of gen speed buffs
As someone who runs prove during bp events, fair but cmon. People are definitely running it for gen speed up

I have 6 k of play. that means between the other three survivors they had a combined 10k hours of experience, so they each had an average of 3333 hours of experience. The math works. Again math be fact based. It is numbers. So the facts support my comments, though I realize others' feelings may be different. I'm not trying to change your feelings. Feelings and facts don't always align, as we are seeing.
Facts over feelings sure. But that's a hypocritical stance to take when you just argued feelings over fact yourself. If you guys are the 10k hour squad you just talked about and you manages to lose to someone with less than 500 hours, I'd be more concerned about how you all managed to lose against someone who's inexperienced.

You're right, they're not a free win.
But if you take a killer player, and a SWF of equal skill level without comp restrictions, the SWF is almost always going to win. In order to beat a SWF, you have to MASSIVELY outplay them.
That's the definition of "unfair competitive advantage." It means that the SWF has to completely ######### the bed, or the killer has to play absolutely god-like, or both, for the killer to win.
Thats the idea of playing killer and survivor in general. You don't need to be a swf or face a swf to understand the idea of people being better than you which means you have to outplay them and make good decisions to win.
Also you're ignoring the important point I brought up. You're arguing about swf when the problem is perk imbalance in this game. Swf can make head on and even Any Means look god like. Doesn't mean it is. You have to understand the real problem is how gross gen times can be abused on both sides. Something that solos can take advantage of. Not just swf

Dude this gens are done without even new parts by prove thyself only
I've literally played killer last night and faced on average, 2 bnps and 2 proves on strong maps like Borgo and Chapel. I won a majority of those games despite such sweaty perks. So no, like I said. You have a skill issue with your lobbies and you're trying desperately to use your anecdotal evidence as an objective truth. Stop it

No, I'm not. I'm saying that comms are so inherently broken that for even the best killers to stand a chance against a decent SWF, they have to heavily restrict that SWF in terms of items and perks.
I'd be happy to play vs SWF if every Trapper match was on Wreckers Yard and the SWF was heavily restricted in terms of perks and items.
But since that's not what happens, SWFs are extremely overpowered and curb stomp most killers on most maps.
Swfs are not a free win thing. Especially against strong killers. The more you talk, the more you disappoint me. They have an advantage but it's not a free win. Please, cut the virtue signaling just to defend your own lack of skill

Match end in 2-3 mins with couple hooks and you call stacking on gens infective
If tomorrow devs will allow speedhack you will be ok with this i think
Okay buddy. Don't strawman argue me and bring up speed hacks because of your own failure as a killer to try and diminish me. That will always b a moot point. 2nd, games never finish in 2-3minutes. Especially if people are wasting valuable speed up on 1gen instead of multiple ones. All you're doing is proving to me your own lack of skill in the game. If you were to argue the nature of speed up, I'd agree with you. But that's not the argument at hand, now is it?

I don't struggle with Wesker on these maps. Especially on RPD. It's hard to down someone who knows rpd easier because of other games. But I think it's because certain areas of the ma can give Wesker a free down or hit

Nope, not the response type I'm looking for. If you did not understand, I'm not looking for a bunch of arguments why you do not believe the facts. ALL sites which tract the game's results show killers routinely get the most points and less than half the time a survivor escapes. Those are facts. You can ignore them in your own head, but facts be facts. The discussion is what ideas which are routinely ignored but continuously come up would you like to see in the game. I gave two examples. Looking for more.
Also isn't that a weak argument to use stats as a be all end all? Last time I checked, stats are what almost got Billy's addons nerfed, why Nursetooka long time for changes, why Sadako hasn't gotten buffed, and why even Twins had that one addon nerfed that barely anyone runs. You don't get to claim facts are facts when so much of dbd proves hard numbers don't account to practicality

Because comp games are heavily regulated. Survivors can only bring certain items, with certain addons, can't run duplicate items or perks, and the killer gets a "fair map." They don't toss Trapper on Fractured Cowshed or the Game with max toolboxes and medkits, 4 DH's, 4 Adrenalines, a couple Proves, etc.
You just said communication is what makes swf unbeatable. They can run any combination of weaker perks and still get value. What you're arguing about is a perk imbalance in game. And you are aware that killer perks are also toned down including strong addons. Any experienced team can run weak perk combos and still do well against killers by your definition of swf. Let's not

Bec swf can counter killer powers and most of perks just by voicechat.exe
And good killers can still handle swfs. Do I have to bring up comp games or no? And a majority of people don't even swf in the sweaty way you guys try to shame them for. Most people in the community solo queue and you guys STILL swfcuse people because the game has 4 solid players. I'm going to assume you're not good at killer and you're projecting anything just to complain.
-
Okay I have to address things cause this is ridiculous.
1. Swf isnt cheating when the devs intentionally allowed it to be a thing. Also you guys literally said if solos are too painful, swf. Now you want no swf? Make up your mind. You cannot keep moving the goalpost
2. You're complaining exactly like noobs and babies so can I make that assumption for you?
3. 30 seconds gens are literally impossible unless multiple people are stacking on 1 gen which is super ineffective. 40 second chases happen because you guys are failing to down the survivor. You physically cannot get mad at a skill issue like that.
Please let's cut the weirdness. You're shaming people and being so smug and salty over the idea of playing with friends. And since we want to use any argument at our disposal, why is that in comp teams killers are still doing well against top survivors in communication? Didn't an Oni player eat many FHs and still 4kd? By that logic alone, I can say you probably aren't good at killer and rely on tunnelling/camping but the idea of swf makes that hard for you.
-
@Mr2ThumbsFGC said:

Lol. No, they're not. Most SWFs are formed on Discord in order to win more games. Ffs. The intellectual dishonest here is staggering. This idea that most SWFs are just trying to have fun with their friends is straight BS.
And even if it weren't, they still get a competitive advantage using outside, unintended software that makes the game pure ez mode.
How exactly do you get to argue against the idea of friends playing with each other for fun? That's a slippery slope of a statement to make considering the fact you're making a bold assumption about people you don't play with

I don't trust the matchmaker very much, however, the only thing MMR has been decent at is keeping new players away from veterans.
However, what you are saying is that you would INTENTIONALLY screw with it in order to find an easier game and sentence someone else to get backfilled into a game they probably shouldn't have been in. Do you want 5 hour Killers playing against 2K hour teams? Because that's exactly how you get that.
You are using SWF as an excuse. I can give you tips as Killer to improve and deal with better players, but something tells me you aren't interested.
Do you have any tips for Billy and Oni. Controlling them on console doesn't feel rewarding
-
Okay first all of all, how do all 4 people with 4k hours get bummed by a killer with less than 300? The math isn't mathing with that statement. 2, solo survivor is rough but that doesn't mean that solos can't play in a level close to a swf. So it's not automatic loss every time. The game isn't killer or survivor sided. It's who's sweating the hardest in terms of load out, strong killer abilities, and communication. You'd think you'd know that after 6k hours
-
@stvnhthr said:
When you play do you care about other player's experience or do you just go for yourself? I'm amazed at the number of players who play in a truly selfish manner. Am I the oddball for trying to make sure others have fun? Does dbd breed selfish players?
I care enough to an extent. Even if it means losing. I'd rather practice and be good at my ability than desperately try to 4k every single match because invisible number said so. There are times I will sweat depending on the scenario

trying to use prove slows down gens - 90 seconds for 2 solo gens vs 92 seconds plus running time for 2 duo gens with prove
Use this same argument for toolboxes with Prove and dedicated builds just to speed up gens. Prove is a problem considering how neutered killer regression got.

Survivors will get what they want eventually. A buff to Dead Hard, reverted the healing nerfs, buffed boon circle of healing, etc etc etc etc but let all the gen kicking perks drown in hellfire.
This is factually incorrect on so many levels. DH is still nerfed, arguably worse so a 4th nerf in total and CoH requires multiple people off gens instead of one. You have a point with regression since that's something I've been mentioning for a while but don't lie and say Survivor get what they want. Do you know how many killer players weren't like the changes ALONGSIDE survivors? You physically cannot make this argument when literal proof exists to counter you

I'm playing the game to win. And with these changes, the counter to dead hard still remains to be, hard tunnel the dead hard guy off the hook, going out of your way to hit them right off of it, or quickly, so they get the deep wounds. Then you only deal with one health state.
Instead, dead hard should either be entirely reworked, or it should have to be EARNED in a way that DISCOURAGES tunneling, and actively encourages healthy gameplay from both sides.
My general proposal is to keep dead hard as is, but it works like mettle of man, so no deep wound shenanigans. Then make it so dead hard is not active, then if you are injured for 30 seconds, it activates and lets you use it. Once you heal, or are downed, it deactivates. This rewards killers for downing survivors quickly in a chase, and encourages survivors to play well (can't just hold w) and actually mindgame the killer.
Ngl, sounds like a decent change. Anything works atp

Instead of fearing the 1-2 survivors with flashlights destroying your traps without consequence, you now need to worry about 4 survivors doing the same thing. And can you imagine a SWF working together to destroy her power?
Imagine you as a Hag spend 2 gens worth of time setting up your web and suddenly 4 traps disappear without you being able to counter it as a killer. Imagine the traps are fairly away from each other. What if the survivor group plan on destroying her web with the new method while she is in a chase with another survivor? What can she do in that situation? Nothing. Her web will be gone, survivors will only benefit from it and do gens while she works on retrapping.
She is slow, she won't be able to get to the place her trap was at on time even if she tried. The survivors would have moved to another location and Hag will need to replace traps instead of chasing survivors or protecting gens. How is that better?
I would rather have to worry about 1-2 flashlight survivors and bring Franklin's than fear 4 survivors working together destroying my web all the time.
She needs a buff with this kind of change.
This change has been thought only through the survivor perspective and not from the killer's perspective. Too much fear to not make Hag too oppressive and now she will be the oppressed one.
0 thought has been put into how this change can be abused by survivors to literally destroy this killer.
It was also obvious to me that the devs don't know of all the methods survivors currently have at their disposal to counter Hag.
The situation you're describing is a slower, more coordinated approach to counter her as a swf which is a whole different issue. If anything, doing this method is a lot slower than flashlight Andies and if they know it's a Hag, they can drop a Flashlight early. I don't think this change is going to ruin Hag or anything
