Well Wednesday and Thursday are special cases reserved for midchapters or chapter debuts ptb/live. But hotfixes are usually consistent to be the following Tuesdays afterwards. Usually 2 total hotfixes in-between chapters

And now a Patch dropped and its Monday. Can we stop with the "usually"-stuff? When nothing is announced, nothing should be expected, even on the "usual" dates.

The only thing Doctor needs, in my personal opinion, is his movement speed reduction while charging his Shock Therapy removed. That's all he really needs since that penalty is what pushes a lot of players away from playing as him.

This would most likely just lead to players spamming the Shock until they get the Hit. And the reason why this is not possible currently is because he has the Movement Speed penalty when using his power.

Removing this would make Doctor really boring and uninteractive.

    @Shaddoll_Serpent said:

    No.

After the recent killer tweaks that were rolled out with the release of The Unknown and Sable, I can tell you that Doctor is in fact in a good state, and the only he could ever need is some new addons, since a majority of his are too weak and redundant. Your proposed changes would just make him overpowered and remove any of the counter play that exists to his kit.

"and the only he could ever need is some new addons, since a majority of his are too weak and redundant."

Would agree here. Some more unique Add Ons would be fine, there is no need to have 3 versions of the same Add On just with different numbers. But I dont think that it would be super urgent to fix this, IMO Doctor is in a good spot right now.

Nah its just the most "survivor sided" map on otz tier list so people keep sending you there

I don't mind tho, i personnally find ormond or haddonfield worse

Reworked Haddonfield is one of the most killer-sided Maps nowadays.

But I would agree, I dont mind Eyrie not that much when being burned by the Survivors. I dont think the map is that bad anymore.

I know what...your right I really should stop making posts about complain how teabagging is bad and so on. It won't go away and basically any game and well complaining about it just makes them have more power because that's what they. So yeah I'll stop complaining about if a survivor decides to teabag at exit gate then I just won't go most maps have breakable walls and downed pallets so extra BP for me.

Exactly. You can either force them out or if you dont want to deal with the teabagging at all, just get some more BPs. Depending on the Killer you are playing, using their power will also grant a few more BPs.

And in the end, if they want to waste 2 minutes until the EGC-timer is over, at least you were more productive than the Survivors who waited for you at the Exit Gates.

  • Oh look, a Bug. How unique.

    Seriously, what is this Update?

  • Bonus Points when it is a Gen they worked on before. Or when they know someone is there.

  • @Nazzzak said:

Maybe they'll be unlocked in the developer's choice bundle at some stage?

I would call that highly unlikely, but not impossible. At the very least for the Bloodletting-Shirt (did not check, but if DiaHype is not in the Store Overview, this would make sense because I think the Content Creator-Cosmetics will be completely impossible to get outside of the Code). Because I think this one was an incentive for those who bought from the DBD-Store years ago, when the game was not big and the support mattered really a lot for it. Comperable to Legacy where players played during a time the game was just starting.

I think a similar promise compared to Legacy exists that the Bloodletting-Shirt will not be available anymore (at least I am sure I read that back then when they made a lot of exclusive Code-Cosmetics available for players, those which you were able to get by attending specific events)

Showing all possible items to purchase/acquire I guess? Kinda like a "live" category.

Makes no sense to display an Item which the customer has 0 way to get. (Outside of the secondary market aka paying a huge load of money for a code which might also just be a scam)

  • @PilotVolt said:

As it stands right now the game is HEAVILY Survivor sided, and I've tried to think about this question myself. It's hard but I feel like if I could only do one thing to help it would be to either increase how long gens take, or nerf all of the Survivors gen-repair-speed things across the board.

The second thing I would do is remove the 8-Regression Event cap on Gens. I'm not sure why BHVR thought that would be a good idea. Sure it doesn't come into play many times but when it does it's usually on a heavily-contested gen. BHVR might as well have just removed gen regression.

How can someone in 2024 STILL think tha game is "HEAVILY Survivor sided"? This is a good example that regardless how easy you make the game for Killers, there are still people who struggle.

The game is the easiest it has ever been for Killer. And it is hardly as challenging overall as it was a few years ago. If you lose as Killer nowadays, it is on you or the Survivors simply being better.

As Survivor, you cannot really do anything aside from Gens, because every time wasted makes it less likely that you win. Gens might take 90 seconds in theory, so 450 seconds (6 1/2 minutes) overall, but the actual time it takes for Gens to complete is far longer due to Slowdown-Perks. You see PGTW and Pain Res in almost every game and since ressources on the maps are limited AND get weaker the longer the game is around, it means that efficiency is needed. It has been months when I cleansed my last Dull Totem (outside of one next to an Exit when the game is already over) and weeks since I searched a chest (outside of hoping for a Medkit to heal), simply because there is no time to do so as Survivor. And if THIS is the case as Survivor, you cannot say that it is "HEAVILY Survivor sided".

To your second paragraph - you must be a new player. The limit is in the game so that Killers cannot pick 3 Gens from the start and defend them during the whole game. They can still do so, 3-Gens are not gone at all. But it is not possible to hold those Gens for an hour until the Server closes the game. It does not really affect regular gameplay and if it would make Gen Regression not viable anymore, I would really question why so many Killers play non-viable Perks…

  • Even if this is true, Dead Dawg is not really a map where hiding really works. It is bright as hell. And in general a killer-sided map (small and aside from the Main Building not really safe).

The problem here is that they hold you hostage. Not that they burned a Map Offering.

  • I mean, you being hold hostage has nothing to do with Map Offerings.

  • @Junylar said:

They finally got a chance to boost their Knight DLC sales, so please, be patient and let them get the best from those hype purchases. Then they will fix it as usual. You should be thankful it's not a licensed DLC perk, because in this case it would take them years to fix it, as it did with ye olde DS.

DS was not bugged tho. DS worked as intended.

  • @Xernoton said:

Wraith is great for beginners. You can't do much wrong with him and he is easy enough to understand so that you can focus on learning the killer role rather than the specific killer.

Doctor also isn't bad but beginners tend to shock way more than necessary. He is great for learning how to track survivors though.

Doctor can be a bit intimidating for new players when you look at his Add Ons.

  • As many others said, Wraith. He is perfect for a new Killer player, he is decently strong and teaches you the basics of DBD Killer gameplay without anything unnecessary which would only overcomplicate things. You dont have to deal with any complex power, basically Bing Bong and M1 to hit and thats it.

  • Agreed. No idea how they came to the conclusion that Coldwind should be in bright daylight. In general DBD-Maps nowadays are way too bright, but Coldwind really brings it to the next level.

  • What would you do if the Survivor already left the Lobby? There is not really any point for a Solo Survivor to stick around watching the game once they are dead. Would you replace them with a Bot?

I am against the Perk idea either way, but IMO this is a very obvious issue which comes with your idea.

  • Opening a bunch of threads complaining about Survivors tbagging at the Exit Gates (this is not your first thread about it), REALLY shows that you dont care about it. Totally.

Just let them tbag. Yes, it is immature. It is childish. Especially if they barely got out. But it is equally immature to get that upset about it.

I honestly wonder what is wrong with people like you. This bitterness towards one side of the game is just really sad to be honest.

I am not even sure how one would determine that it's mainly just killer mains who complain about survivors giving up. But nevertheless, believe it or not, people just like to play out matches properly, without having people give up somewhere during the match.

This us vs them is just so pathetic.

It was the case for quite some time already that mainly Killers complain about Survivors not being able to suicide on Hook or stuff like that. You see obvious Killer Mains posting this. You dont see that many Survivors complain about it (granted, this Forum is very killer-sided and I guess if you go on reddit or twitter, you probably see more Survivors complain about teammates suiciding because there are more Survivors).

But as Killer, it should not be relevant - in the end, they achieve their goal. And the sweatfest I encounter ingame should not really show that Killers dont want to win. And a Survivor suiciding does a lot for them to win the game.

So my assumption is that they lose points and it does not feel as good to win a 3v1 than it would be to win a 4v1.

Are you forgetting that there are 4 Survivors in a match? Yes 2 Survivors not on Gens, but what about the other 2? They are not contested in any way, so those 2 gens will get done very quickly.

The only way for you to get them off gens is to quickly down the unhooker. The longer the chase goes on, the more progress they have on Gens.

All these are just a single instance. Now imagine every Survivor do this on every single hook.

2 Survivors not on Gens is HUGE for the Killer. How long are you playing that you really think that 2 Survivors not doing Gens is not just the Survivors losing the game?

  • @OmegaXII said:

Oh is it? Slugging NEVER hurts Killer, is that what you’re saying?

If that’s what you say, “All Killers, hear me out! From now on, go for 4-man slug every single match! It’s what Survivors thought to be the best strategy!”

Imagine you get into a match as Pig, slug the first Survivor, and now you search for another one. Since you don’t hook anybody, so no Pop Pain etc, so by the time you find another Survivor and injure him, 3 gens done, and you got no hook. WOW Killer is winning!

Now unless you’re some god tier Pig who ends chase under 30s, and is capable for going for 4x slugs, Survivors can just reset everything you did by picking up slugged Survivors, as you don’t gain any progress throughout the entire match. Even better, there’s 4x Unbreakable, so they can just pick up themselves! WOW Killer is winning again!

    “Slugging NEVER hurts Killer, eh”

I never said that slugging is the best outcome for the Killer. Obviously, if you have Pain Res or PGTW, hooking is better than slugging. But slugging does not hurt the Killer at all. The Survivors dont benefit from a slugging Killer.

So maybe it benefits the Killer less if they slug instead of hooking. But it never hurts them.

And dont worry, Killers already know that slugging is good for them.

I agree, just wanted to chime in and add i'd even go as far as predicting 3 survs not on gens. Because often that 2nd surv is in trouble which will pull a 3rd surv off their gen to help the downed teammate. The survs have now almost completely had their objective progress stonewalled, and its possible that its not progressing at all if the 4th surv isn't even on one.

Exactly. And if you add to this that the Survivors might not be on Comms, you can also imagine that multiple people try to pick that Survivor up. (Since not even Kindred would work in this case)

  • @OmegaXII said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3711994#Comment_3711994

There’s a huge difference between slugging survivor intentionally, and being forced to slug survivor. The former benefits the Killer, while the latter hurts him.

Imagine if Survivor runs toward edge of map where Killer can’t hook him, then Killer is forced to leave him. Sure he can’t do Gens to progress the game, but same goes to the Killer as he doesn’t gain any progress without hooking Survivor. All the time you spend chasing that Survivor is wasted.

Slugging a Survivor NEVER hurts a Killer. What the #########?

Those are mental gymnastics at its finest. Not doing Gens is always good for the Killer, no exceptions. Or how do you twist that a Survivor on the ground (willingly or not) is better than a Survivor NOT on the ground?

  • @Seraphor said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3711987#Comment_3711987

You're naive as ######### if you think otherwise.

They either have teammates ready to pick them up or Unbreakable.

A slugged Survivor is also Map Pressure. Less with Unbreakable, but without Unbreakable you still have 2 Survivors not on Gens.

  • @Seraphor said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3711967#Comment_3711967

    1. It's a gamble whether they have DS. It's a perk, not basekit.

    2. Lying on the ground is what the survivor wants. Your next best option is typically a healthy survivor some distance away by now. You've lost your chance to go for the unhooker. It is making it more difficult for the killer to not tunnel. It's now better to pick up, eat DS, then continue to chase the injured survivor.

You heard it here folks. Being slugged is what Survivors want.

  • Yeah, it is an overblown issue. Ever since conspicious actions exist, people trying to force a DS is not an issue. Since when they try, they are not doing anything, which is good for the Killer.

Also, DS is weaker than before, even when back at 5 seconds. Simply because Killer got stronger over time, maps got weaker, etc… You get less use out of the 5 second-DS than before it was nerfed in 6.1.0.

  • Killers want to enjoy their power trip. Survivors giving up does not support this.

  • Nobody knows.

I had a Chris in my game lately who had Hyperfocus and Stake Out and decided to not do Gens at some point. He let 3 people die while doing nothing.

  • @supersonic853 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3711692#Comment_3711692

Tbf you will never satisfy everyone. I've seen people go next on perkless trapper because they stepped in a trap. So down to a point there's just people that give up on anything.

While this is true, this does not mean that things which are problematic should not be adressed.

You cannot say that the Devs should ignore Skull Merchant being unhealthy (as an example), just because some people decide to give up on basically everything.

  • I dont know. This Perk is bugged, a few maps are also bugged as well and while their chances are reduced, they are still not killswitched.

I just think it would look bad if the Killswitch-List would be too long, since people might not want to play the game in the upcoming weeks (we are having the Anniversary Stream soon, so there is a chance of a influx of new players), when they see that there are 4 maps and a Perk bugged instead of 1 Map.

(Let alone that the Killswitch is so inconsistent. Back in the day they killswitched a Map because a blessed Totem could not be snuffed out, but another Map stayed even when they had Totem Spots which cannot be cleansed. Then sometimes Perks get killswitched for minor things, and sometimes Perks get to stay around with Major things (like the current Bug or also the one time where they allowed Merciless Storm to be around while bugged))

  • Killers cannot always know who did nothing or who did the most. Because not taking chase does not mean that the Survivor did not do anything. In the end, a Survivor who is really efficient on Gens and doing a lot of them is as valuable for the team as a Survivor who gives the Killer a long chase (because in the end, you also need to complete Gens to finish it).

And sometimes I also let one Survivor go when I want the other Survivor dead. Either because I realized that the one I want dead was really not that helpful to their team or because they were just acting in a bad way. And then I usually slug the one person while I search for the other and the one who was slugged will get Hatch.

But I agree, if someone plays like a tryhard from the start and makes sure that the Survivor Team has no fun whatsoever, giving Hatch is just some form of power trip.

  • I almost never have people given up against me when I play Killer. So the statement that Survivors DC over everything is wrong, at least from my experience.

I also dont see people giving up as often when I play Survivor. More frequently than when I play Killer, but thats about it.

But once again - doing anything about Hook Suicices will not solve anything. It is important to fix unfun things in the game. This will not remove all Hook Suicides or DC, but it will remove a part of them. People will hook suicide if they found first by an Add On-less Wraith. But at least they can try to make people not give up against things like Skull Merchant or the stacking of Slowdown-Perks.

With the latest just being an issue. I know that some genius here will now say that Killer needs Slowdown, and I would agree. However, Killers dont need 3-4 Slowdowns to win games. And it is frustrating to go against a Blight (an S-Tier Killer), with good Add Ons (double Speed, still good) AND a build of Pain Res, PGTW, Grim Embrace and Corrupt Intervention. And this is NOT needed.

And well, mayby Survivor frustration would be less frequent if BHVR would actually care about Survivors. The only thing Survivors got in the past months was the Buff to DS, which was more the revert of a Nerf the Perk did not need. Other than that, neither new content nor old revisited content was really good.

But sadly BHVR has given up on Survivor. And in the end, the Killer is the protagonist while the Survivors are there to make it a full game.

  • @supersonic853 said:

It's kinda funny that these bugs go into under review but aren't switched when they are pretty obviously a bug. Like being able to go outside garden of joy. Or a toolbox not being drained. Ect.

Some maps (including Garden of Joy) have their probability drastically reduced due to Bugs on them. And yet BHVR decides not to killswitch them.

I really question what the point of the Killswitch is if the Devs decide to not killswitch certain things to make the game look less buggy.

  • @SoGo said:

    What kind of different?

I thought that rubberbanding was the bug that makes you teleport to one spot anytime you try to leave the spot.

Or is it the fact I played on Hawkins?

What I mean is that Hawkins, Abattoir and Garden of Joy have reduced chances due to Bugs on those Maps. They are not killswitched, but you will encounter them less. So I guess you ran into that Bug on Hawkins, because even if stuttering is present, it should not be as severe as you described it.

  • @SoGo said:

On Hawkins, playing as the Wraith.

I was stuck in one place, constantly being pulled back to the same spot.

This might actually be a different thing. The map has currently a drastically reduced chance to come up due to issues on it (same with Garden of Joy and Rancid Abattoir). Why they dont killswitch it entirely is beyond me.

  • Yes, most people experience it from what I have seen. To varying degrees, sometimes only a little bit, sometimes a lot. For me it only rarely happens, but does not make the instances when it happens less frustrating. But I have seen people who have the issue way more often.

And all we can do is to hope for a fix.

  • "Are the stutters triggered by cheats?"

No. Stop with the conspiracy theories.

  • I mean, as bad as stealth is, it is quite obvious that more people try to be stealthy. If you get found first chances are quite high that you might get tunneled out of the game. Furthermore, Killers are stronger so chases are much shorter than they were before because either Maps got weaker, Killers got Buffs or Survivor Perks got nerfed.

So in the end, you will spend less time in a chase as Survivor and overall less time in the game if you are found first. The solution to this is to not be found that easily.

I am also not a fan of Distortion, I dont really like to go against it and I dont run it myself, but I can see why people are using it.

  • Nobody knows, there is nothing announced yet. I would expect a Sale, but I cannot really estimate how it will turn out for the updated prices for some characters.

  • @Harbinger1985 said:

300K BP and 10 Rift fragments. Seems everyone get the same? I hope for IS in the future or random old cosmetics, maybe? I'll like random free gifts. :D

I dont mind what will be the gift for the upcoming weeks as long as it is not Rift Fragments. I finish the Rift roughly after Tome 2 and those 10 Rift Fragments dont do anything. And since they dont want to implement infinite RIft Tiers (so that you get a bit of stuff after reaching Tier 85), it does not matter if they gift a Level or not.

I think aside from Iridescent Shards and BPs it would be nice to have things like Bloody Party Streamers or if they would finally create Boosters which you can activate ingame. E.g. active for 1 hours, you gain double BPs during that hour. This can be done with Shards, Rift Fragments (ugh), BPs and XPs. This would also motivate players to play longer, since they want to get value from their hour (or maybe even longer) the Booster provides.

  • I would rather use Second Wind instead of Solidarity. You need to heal someone with second Wind before, so getting the first Unhook would be important. But Solidarity really gets destroyed by Hemorrhage.

Also Circle of Healing is a waste of a Perk Slot. Dont do that. Then you can rather run Empathy or Empathic Connection.

  • Yeah, 10 Rift Fragments as well. Which is pointless IMO, I think everybody at this point completes the Rift.

You mean the literal counter to DS has nothing to do with DS? Okay…

And yet we have massive slugging before a Survivor is even hooked or in Endgame. OP even said that they were slugged in Endgame, your opinion was that they must have done something to annoy the Killer. Suuure.

But as always in this forum - Killer players cannot be bad people. It must have been a Survivor in the match who did something wrong. Or in a previous match. Or in the match before that.

  • @Junylar said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3710305#Comment_3710305

DS was before, and it was even more horrible in the past. Throughout DbD history slugging has always been a reaction to some kind of BS survivors had: be it permanent sabo, 99 sabo, flashlight saves or DS. And now there would be an expected rise of slugging builds due to yet another buff to DS.

As for the end-game slugging, OP's team or he himself probably was teabagging the killer at every pallet, judging by how often he seems to meet such sluggers in the game (they are not that frequent even now). BM for BM.

Ah yes. Because Killers only slug if the evil survivors did something before.

Really, get your facts straight. Massive slugging has nothing to do with DS.

  • @Junylar said:

For every action, there is a reaction. For every DS buff, there is a forced DS counter-play, ie. slugging.

Yeah, Slugging was non-existent before. /s

EDIT: OP even says Endgame… So trying to justify that slugging with DS is just wrong.

  • I dont know how you come to the conclusion that new Patches only drop on Tuesday. This has not been the case for quite some time, we also had patches on Wednesday or even Thursday.

But as long as they did not announce anything, nobody should expect a patch. They usually only announce Patches shortly before they are deployed.

  • As already said, some people have no problems BMing but are really offended when BMed back. However, it is not only Survivors. You can easily say "Players" instead of "Survivors". That you see more Survivors BMing is simply because you encounter more Survivors overall than Killers. In fact, if you play Killer, you encounter 0 Killers who can BM, because you are the only Killer in the respective game.

But let me tell you a stroy:

2 or 3 days ago I went against a Wraith on The Game. No Map Offering used or anything. The guy played well, using Silent Bell and Shadow Dance, protected by a Black Ward. He won the game with I think 2 Gens to go and his Devour Hope did a huge Job for him. Again, he was playing well and deserved his 4K, nothing wrong with that. What was wrong was that he decided to hump me on the ground for a minute after downing me (I was the last Survivor standing, he slugged a Yun-Jin for the 4K). I dont take offense in it, it is whatever, however… I got the same guy in the game afterwards. (Note: He said "gg" after his 4K)

Next game was on Gas Heaven and I noticed that it was the same Wraith (same cosmetics, same Add Ons, again protected by a Black Ward). So I went to search for his Totems and broke both Undying and Devour Hope. In the end, 3 people escaped him (he played well again, he did not have a bad game IMO). He did NOT say "gg" (apparently only a good game when he wins) and when I said "ggez" (more out of fun and because he BMed me the game before), he completely snapped.

You see, it is not only Survivors, both sides can be pretty hypocritical when it comes to BMs. (And many more things… e.g. bringing the strongest stuff yourself and complaining when the other side does the same)

  • @Junylar said:

While this is surely an overreaction, the reverse is kind of true: they don't fix things that bring them money being broken. Just look at how long it took them to rework DS from its initial state. If DS were a free perk, it would've been fixed within a month since release.

Yeah. I remember how much money they make with Nurse and she is still busted! Oh wait…

  • Coldwind Farm has become killer-sided overall since the Maps usually feature huge Deadzones nowadays. Survivors who burn Coldwind-Offerings actually hurt their team more than they benefit them.
