The "play" would have been to just dont write something in EGC. In the end, the Survivors just used a combo. (Not that I like FTP + Buckle Up, but it is what it is)
But the Combo will already be nerfed in the next Patch. Then Buckle Up does not give Endurance anymore, but will provide a Speedboost for the Survivor who has been healed from the ground. So while Feng would probably still be out in this situation, Lisa would have been dead instead. The combo will be purely altruistic after the next Patch.

Singularity does not justify the effort for what he provides, there I would agree. But this would not make him overrated.
Agree to disagree. SIngularity is not as good as most of us think because in order for this killer to work you need to be incredibly on point. But at that point, why not pick a different killer? If you play that good, it's not the killer but your own skills that create positive results and you could just as well pick a different killer and get the same or better results.
Also, just from looking at the actual numbers you notice an issue immediately. Even if you manage to slipstream all 4 survivors, the overclock duration still runs out well before you get into range for a hit, which means, that the survivor does not need to vault or drop a pallet for that entire duration, rendering overclock useless without the right addons or perks. A dysfunctional base kit is never good and should always be looked at.
Look, the point is, you simply dont really look at overrated or underrated. I look at it in a vacuum. I just simply look if the Killer is overrated or underrated. Nothing more. And if someone is not doing as well as they potentially could do with the Killer, this does not make the Killer overrated (or in any form weaker).
E.g. I suck with Singularity. I am really, really bad with him. But this does not make the Killer bad. And while it is true that it also depends on the player, you can be sure that we have people on the Forums who would call themselves very good with Singularity, but probably worse with other Killers.
And when it comes to own skills… Those can only bring you to a certain point. You can be the best DBD-Killer player in the world, yet when you play Trapper, you will hit a wall way sooner than you would with another Killer who is simply stronger.
And when we look at a Killer which is without any doubt very strong, we can see the same. Would you say Blight is overrated? Probably not, he is one of the strongest Killer. Everyone would say that. When I play Blight, I am not really good with him, I would perform better in a Billy or probably even a much weaker Killer like Wraith. But this does not mean that Blight is overrated, it just means that the player (in this case me) is the reason why Blight does not perform as good as he potentially would be able to.

As others have said, simply because the license holder also needs to give permission. And not only that, they also have to agree on the terms when it comes to allowing BHVR to sell their IP. Easy example - maybe the License Holder wants more money from the cosmetic sales compared what the regular cut BHVR offers is.
And this also differs from license holder to license holder. E.g. the Stranger Things license holder seemed to be quite invested in cosmetics, Steve, Nancy and Demo got new Skins (and I think Demo even skins which were not in the show itself). The NIghtmare on Elm Street license holders on the other hand dont want that, given that Freddy and Quentin never received any cosmetics aside from their Base Cosmetics (and Quentions variant) and Prestige.

If a killer is so hard to play that almost no one performs well with them, then that's a problem with the killer.
Look at Singularity for example. Supposedly Singularity is a pretty strong killer but really how many people can play on that level? I certainly can't. At some point I'll make a mistake and my entire pressure, that I built up over the last minutes, is gone in 30 seconds. Not to mention that even at top level this killer is still very addon and perk dependent. I'd say that qualifies as overrated. Put all that effort into a different killer and you'll likely perform better.
Some people also think that Freddy is pretty decent, which he is not. No other killer has that many restrictions on a power that isn't even that good to begin with. You're punished for hooking, there are multiple inbuilt counter mechanics and a mechanic to prevent him from capitalising on reckless survivors, killing a survivor is detrimental for your power too, your power can be side stepped even when it should work, his addons are mostly terrible (why is the Paintbrush even an addon to begin with?). You could make all of his best addons base kit without any downsides and he would still be pathetic. Plus, he has no potential to snowball.
The point is being overrated.
I have not seen anyone saying that Freddy is super strong or anything, therefore he is not overrated. Singularity is hard to play, but also really strong. Therefore, not overrated. You cannot really deny that Singularity is strong.
Singularity does not justify the effort for what he provides, there I would agree. But this would not make him overrated. Probably underrated instead because some people might think he is weak, which he is not.

This is what i mean. I think people think she is easier than she is. And yes people that don't play her themselves are going to think that. Because it's the popular narrative and she is difficult to play against.
"you should easily play her good enough to win almost every game in public matches." well, that isn't happening, that's why i think she's overrated.
Plus if people could easily win every match with this killer then her kill rate would be a lot higher. Her kill rate is similar in high mmr too, based on officially released stats, so the new player thing doesn't work there.I dont know, I can only rely on my own experience with Nurse. And this is that you feel like the dumbest person on the planet while learning her, but once you got used to her Blinks, she is not hard to play. And with the FoV-Slider she is even better, because those who learned her with Shadowborn (like I did) have an additional Perk Slot now.
But I also dont know why her Killrate is not ultra-high in high MMR. Because you really should win most of your games with her quite easily, just because she is so strong.
-
@Marioneo said:
without meta slows matches end in 3 mins
If you reach those times without Slowdowns, it is quite clear that you were relying on them way too much and probably are in an MMR-Range where you clearly dont belong. Because with Gens being done that fast, that means that the Killer was basically AFK the whole game.
@Topic:
Not really to be honest. What I notice are more Hook Suicides. I dont see them that often in normal gameplay, so it sticked out to me in Chaos Shuffle, probably because the Survivor got Perks they dont like (which raises the question why playing such a fun mode in the first place when you cannot stand getting bad builds…).
But what I see is that players are still sweaty with bringing strong Items, Add Ons, Map Offerings and in general more tunneling. And I guess this is what also puts the escape rates down.
(I have said multiple times that Items, Add Ons and Map Offerings should not be a thing in this mode. This will not make people less sweaty, but them being sweaty has less of an impact. And IMO some people REALLY take this mode too serious… I had a Survivor complain that I got them with NOED in Endgame or a Killer DCing when 2 Gens were done or a Killer complaining that the slugged Survivor got a lucky Hatch escape… Nothing out of the ordinary, but things like this happen and in the end, it should be a fun mode. But all this proves is that an actual casual mode in DBD would not work)

I think Nurse is overrated. I get the impression on the forums that people seem to think that anyone can become gods with nurse if they just put enough time into her. I don't really think so, i've probably put 100hrs into her at this point but she's still my worst performing killer. She doesn't suit me, i do better with other killers.
That's why i don't feel like she needs a nerf at this point because i do think she is difficult to play and should be rewardingThats honestly a "you"-thing, which boils down to my post - it is up to the player in this case. Nurse is not overrated, she is considered the strongest Killer in the game without any question. And this even by players who dont play her that often or dont play her well.
Her difficulty is also really exaggerated. She has a steep learning curve, but it does not take that much to do well with her. With 100 hours you should easily play her good enough to win almost every game in public matches. (No offense here, she does not suit you, so you will do worse with her. That has every player.)
-
I dont really think any Killer is overrated. Some are underrated, but not really overrated. Some might not achieve the results they are capable of if the player is not good enough, but this is not the problem of the Killer, that is the problem of the player.

Every game heralded as a "DBD Killer" that has had the ability to do so has perished horrifically, with the exception of F13th which has more active players than TCSM and only perished due to licencing issues. I don't want it because I've seen what it does to other games, and as much as I complain about dbd I don't want it to go
What I find funny is that people who claim that game X or game Y is the DBD Killer, are often those who even complain about the limited ways of fighting back Survivors have in DBD. Whether it is DS, Pallet Saves or Flashlight Saves, those get complained about and the same people then claim that a game will be DBD Killer, where Survivors actually have ways to fight back.
I cannot really imagine that someone who has a problem with DS having fun in a game where Survivors can actually fight back.

I am surprised that I dont see more Haddonfield Map Offerings from Killers to be honest. It might be the most killer-sided Map at this point. They just went too far with it.
Usually I burn a Offering for Haddonfield for the Fall from great height-challenge in the Tome, simply because it is the easiest Map to achieve that. But yesterday I opted for another Map instead, simply because going to Haddonfield as Survivor is too much of a disadvantage.

There is not much which can be done. Those are simply symbols which the game cannot display. E.g. Japanese or Chinese language or some special characters which you can use on your platform, but are not included in DBD.

Also, i found this. Was it there before?Targetting a specific player over multiple matches has been a reportable offense for quite some time. Even tho, this will most likely only affect Streamers who get streamsniped, because usually it is quite rare to end up with the same players again in multiple matches in a row.
But other than that, it is not a reportable offense.

"And you dont even have to grind for it, you just have to like the game and play it for a 2 or 3 hours a day."
Friend, that IS a grind. Playing a single game three hours a day, every single day, is not normal.
I have a million other games, and other things to do.
The Rift is supposed to take you three months to complete. Anyone who plays the game 20+ hours a week has no right to complain when they get left out of things meant for other players to catch up with.
I dont think you understand what I said.
To get to this Level or finish the Rift, you"need" to play for like 2 or 3 hours a day. But then you have finished the Rift with 55 (!!) days to go. You dont need to play 2 or 3 hours a day to finish the Rift in total. You probably need to play 2 games or so to finish the Rift before it closes.
Calling this a grind would be so wrong.
And well, if you really think that people who play the game a lot should gain nothing… Fine I guess. I mean, what should I do? Play less because then I only complete the Rift after 3 months because it was designed that everyone can complete it, even when playing only 2 games a day?
-
@Superyoshiegg said:
It's not intended for people who grind the Rift in the first week it comes out.
There's still over 50 days left in the Rift. How on earth is it already considered 'late' when it only opened less than a month ago.
They made the Rift very easy to complete. I dont think it is possible to not complete the Rift at this point, except if you are VERY inactive and almost not playing at all. They even made it easier recently with Rift Fragments added after 500 XPs. So people who play the game active might have already finished it or are close to being finished.
E.g. I am now at Tier 74 or something like that. And this is the usual case for me, I complete the Rift either shortly before or during Tome Level 3. So everything which comes with Rift Fragments (Login Bonusses, Double Rift Fragments, Challenges) becomes useless for those players. And you dont even have to grind for it, you just have to like the game and play it for a 2 or 3 hours a day. And it always feels a bit like being left out.
@Topic:
I opened this thread yesterday:
@Aven_Fallen said:
Hello,
this week we will get Double Rift Fragments. Which is cool. But only if you actually need them. I did not finish the Rift yet, but I am on Tier 71, I will complete him without any problems at all and way earlier than needed. And I am not the only one.
I think it is nice that there are more ways implemented for people to complete the Rift and also that it was made easier.
But if someone is active and playing a lot, Rewards like this really feel lackluster, because they are just non-existent. This goes for Double Rift-Fragments, Login-Bonusses or Weekly Gifts. Let alone Rift Fragments you would get for regular playtime or Challenges.
Therefore, I think it would make sense to implement infinite Rift Tiers. Once you completed the Rift (including the Deep Rift), you just get Tiers which feature like 10k BPs in the free track and a few Iridescent Shards in the paid track. This would just also give something to people who already completed the main parts of the Rift. I just think it is kinda sad that you dont get anything anymore out of Rift Fragments after you completed the Rift, especially because it meant that you were actively playing the game.
It is basically the second point. Just a few BPs in the free track and a few Iri Shards in the paid track would do the trick. This should 100% be a thing and I am surprised they did not add this with their latest changes which made the Rift even faster and easier to complete.
-
I guess simply to not overload the game too much. Imagine you have a few Alans or Nicolas in a game and then they start blabbering around. MIght be really annoying.
Furthermore, it might give away the position of a Survivor, and this pretty randomly.
(IMO with so many Voicelines added recently they should look for a way to make them less present in the game and not more present… Especially Alan Wake is just annoying) -
It never worked for me to release the Newsletter. And I have given up on it, no point in putting my Email in that all the time.

@Topic:
Not really needed IMO. Yes, it might conflict a bit in Chaos Shuffle if you get Deliverance and Slippery Meat, but this is such a rare occurance and given that it is random, you end up with having useless Perks from time to time.
All it would do is to remove a Downside from Deliverance in regular gameplay if the Survivor would try to unhook themselves two times via the 4% and then does it with Deliverance. Would still be 100% risk-free but with the possibility to not have the Downside of Deliverance.

I'm against removing option to view profiles because they at least provide an opportunity to dodge potential cheaters (because BHVR isn't really doing anything about them). Letting survivors preview the killer's profile is fair though.
The option does more harm than good. The 1 Cheater you get in 20 or so games does not really justify it IMO. Let alone that most Cheaters are Anon anyway.
-
Agreed, it is pretty good compareable. Just the time when the person decides to leave the other players alone is different.
And therefore I am for removing prestige, names and profiles from the Lobby. Saying this for years now, but yet we have to TEST if removing prestige makes sense. Gameplay-wise there is 0 reason why the Killer should have access to Names, Profiles or Prestige. It just leads to lobbydodging.
In fact, you can probably remove the Lobby in the first place, since it only exists because the game was P2P when it came out. It is also not really used for preparation, at least I have not noticed that a Killer used their Meme-Build against 4 Solos with 1 Item in total. The Killer will not prepare, they will just dodge.
OR - if Killers really want to keep this feature, we can just give the Survivors access to the same level of information. See the Killers Name, their profile and which Killer they are playing. And then I would guarantee that there will also be less DCs or Hook Suicides, simply because Survivors would dodge every Nurse or Skull Merchant they encounter. And if someone thinks that Lobbydodging is fine, but Suiciding/DCing not, then this solution would be fair for them as well.

Then explain to me why I won 5000+ games with perkless Trapper? And I guess you will have roughly the same evidence as I have - 0. But trust me bro, I really won over 5k games with perkless Trapper.
Killers have more than a decent chance nowadays. You can win with every Killer against the majority of Survivors you will encounter.

It would open the door for water on maps and a swim mechanic for both sides, but I know I'd end up disappointed because BHVR isn't gonna do it right we'll end up with a underwhelming m1 jason running around a small enclosed map with just a view of the lake. I'd honestly say if that's BHVR'S plan for a jason just don't bring him at all I'd rather have a legendary skin for Trapper than a F13 chapter with a weak jason and a halfway done correctly map.
I mean, first of all, it depends what the LIcense Holders allow to use. I dont know how the situation is currently, so not sure if the Jason-License Holders even have the rights on Camp Crystal Lake for example.
But I am also not really sure what they want to do with Jason. Because in the movies, he did not really have any abilities aside from his inhuman strength. Which we basically have with every Killer (and is also basically the trademark of Trapper).
-
I mean, we get a Solo Killer in March according to the Roadmap. And I have read from someone else that in theory they can announce the Chapter early (like they did with Sadako) in December. And the 13th of December is a Friday.
Considering that the Jason-License is now available:
I would say it is only a matter of time until Jason arrives in DBD. I would obviously not expect him to join in every Chapter onwards (we already know that the next licensed Chapter after Vecna is Castlevania and the December-Chapter is original), but I think the March-Chapter would be a big possibility.

This change makes him feel less clunky, less frustrating to verse, and more fun to play. Just because you can't do something, doesnt mean others cant
"and I highly doubt it was thrilling to do it as well"
Can confirm this. It does not really feel rewarding if you just follow the Survivor until they have to drop the Pallet and you scamper under it.
With the Cooldown-Reduction you can use the power way more often. And this in general feels better.
-
I play him. I see him sometimes, but honestly, this is expected considering that the Hype of being a new Killer is over and with 35 Killers in the game it is just normal that you see a Killer quite rarely.
But I am a big fan that we have the same topic a few weeks after every Killer release.

I made very similar post, so i definately agree on this. Recently had match with 2 friends, where distortion random made quite a winnable match impossible to win, because he did literally nothing but stealth, when heard TR. Pretty sure, that if Distortion wasn't endless, it would be 2 man out, because killer had BBQ and all hooks were on us.
But this is not the problem of Distortion, this is the problem of one teammate being overly stealthy. If Distortion would be removed tomorrow, the same person would just be in lockers more often.
-
Not really. What if the Killer does not even run any Aura Read-Perks? Would they then not be able to find any Survivor at all?
Survivors who run Distortion dont become invisible. They will still do Gens, they will still go for Saves. I had a match yesterday with Unknown and except for one Survivor, all were running Distortion. And yet the one not running Distortion was the last one who got hooked.
Sure, it can be possible that there are overly stealthy Survivors. But they can be overly stealthy without Distortion. And from my experience it happens rarely that people just stealth around until their team died and they can get the Hatch. What sometimes happens is that the Unhooker decides to hide, leaving the unhooked Survivor as the only target. But this is also not really because of Distortion, but because of a playstyle.

Here is the part of the interview already mentioned:
https://x.com/i/status/1791602622761472300
But it should be obvious that this is not possible. DnD Vecna has not really anything to do with ST Vecna and you dont just put one license on top of another license. This would legally not really be possible or at the very least HIGHLY unlikely. In the end, the DnD-License holder also have some form of advertisement with their license in a game like DBD. They receive money, sure, but it is also advertisement, because it might bring people to their franchise if they liked DBD-Vecna.
If they would just slap on another license, the DnD-License Holders would lose this. (Yes, the power would still be the same, but it would not be DnD-Vecna anymore)

Or maybe because having more zombies to create more of a feel of being in a zombie apocalypse during a trial would be fun and more like RE?
Not everything is for cynical reasons.
More Zombies would not make Nemesis feel more interesting to play. It would also not really give more of a feel of a Zombie Apocalypse, given that even if you double or triple the amount of Zombies, you would still barely see one in DBD-maps.
And it would also be a really lazy way of buffing him. I would rather see that they focus on the part which resolves around the actual gameplay of Nemesis, the input the Killer player has to do instead of just adding free value by adding more Zombies. (You can say they could do both, sure, but past experience has shown some occasions where they just went the easiest route and called it a day. And I think that this would be the case with just adding more Zombies)
-
@[Deleted User] said:
I mean do we really need more zombies?
No, not at all. For some reason players always want more Zombies, probably because it is the part of his power which requires 0 input from the Killer, so it would be free value.
What Nemesis REALLY needs is more interesting Add Ons. Two Zombies are fine.
-
Agreed.
But they should make it impossible to use Items, Add Ons or Map Offerings. The gamemode is fun because it is great to not play against 4 Meta-Perks for once. But people dont need to use BNPs in it or bring a Map Offering + strongest Add Ons.

"(but also he was new so people died to him more than usual at the start)."
But you can also consider that because he was new that people who played him were not as good when he released. I guess it evens out overall and he will probably stick with an above average Killrate.

Windows does not suddenly make bad players good. It also is not the reason you lose games. The Perk in itself is fine, sure, it is quite obvious if someone has Windows and just runs from Pallet to Pallet, but they also need to be good at the game to utilize those Pallets.
IMO the only flaw for WoO is that it is not a free Perk and not part of the Basegame.
But acting like Survivors would be headless chickens without it and can only loop for a long time because they use it, is a bit much.

The killer is only at fault as much as the hiding Survivor is. If it’s acceptable for the Survivor to hide and try to survive then it’s acceptable for the Killer to slug for the 4K.
Doesn’t matter if you consider a 3K is a win, it there is a chance for a player to get a 4K then they’re entitled to that chance, regardless of the emotions going through the slugged persons head. If you don’t think they’re entitled to that chance then you shouldn’t think the last standing Survivor is entitled to a chance to escape through the hatch, saying otherwise is a double standard.
My main point is that you try to victimize the person who is just trying to survive, but not the person who is prolonging the game. And even if the Killer would hook the third Survivor, they can still get their 4K. But you expect the hiding Survivor to give up willingly. That is if I would say that a Killer has to carry the last Survivor to the Hatch. Which you would point out as wrong behavior right away, yet you want the Survivor to stop trying to survive.

Would it be nice to have prestiges hidden? I mean sure, but I guarantee you it wont make a difference. Go play with your main. The reason is you have to divide the Prestige of Meg by 10. A general rule for all Meg-players. So your P100-Meg is actually a P10-regular Survivor.
@Topic:
Yeah, agreed. In general, ALL information (aside from Characters and Items) should be removed from the Killer. No point in them seeing names and profiles, gameplay-wise there is no reason to show this to the Killer.
Or they put a penalty on Lobby-dodging, which increases the wait time by lets say 30 seconds each time a Killer dodges a Lobby. It is mind-baffling that they are allowed to go for the easiest games they can find without any real penalty, that they can shop lobbies until they found 4 players with low hours or something like that.(In general, Killers dont use the information in the pregame Lobby to prepare, they just use it to dodge. And this is not the purpose of the pregame Lobby)

Because you got backfilled. There was a Killer in the Lobby before who would have had roughly the same Strength Level as the Survivors, but they left the Lobby (probably because they thought that they might lose and wanted an easier game) and you got backfilled into it.
This is one of the Flaws of the Matchmaking.
In general, the MMR in this game is flawed from the ground. It is solely based on Kills and escapes, so if you kill a lot of people as Killer, you gain MMR, if you escape a lot as Survivor, you gain MMR.
However, you can be the best Survivor on your team, do the most, be the most helpful and then be the only one dying and you are the only one losing MMR.
Same with Killer - you can play a game, get 9 Hooks in total, 1 Kill in the end and yet for the MMR you played worse than the guy who got 2 Hooks and 2 Kills, because they camped everyone they found and made it impossible to unhook them.

The Killer played well, was winning and as a result has the upper hand so their risk is minimized. There’s still the risk of the slug bleeding out, getting picked up or using a perk like Unbreakable.
The Killer will not lose if they get a 3K. You make it sound that a win is only a 4K.
And still you were saying that the Killer, who is the reason why time is wasted, is not at fault, because a Killer kills, but if a Survivor wants to survive, they are at fault.

It is logical since the killer performed well and has a right to try for a 4k. The description is in their title.
Let me ask you this, if the gates are powered, someone is on hook and the rest of the team is at full health, are Survivors wrong for going in to rescue the hooked person? Why can’t they just leave? A 3-escape is still a win for them. There’s no need to waste more time, they can just go next. Or is it okay for the Survivors to get a 4 escape while Killers need to be nice and considerate so Survivors have a good time?
My opinion is always that people cannot expect to 4K every match but cannot expect that everyone gets out every match either. So yeah, I would not try to save someone in Endgame, I would rather take 3 people out.
But, you are saying that the Killer is entitled to their 4K, which they are just not. It is just dumb logic to say that the Killer who is refusing to hook someone despite having won the game is not at fault but the person who wants to survive.
(btw… Survivors want to survive… But I guess that this is not "The description is in their title".)

I think it’s fine.
Killer performed well and is entitled at a chance for a 4k. If people want to be mad at someone, be mad at the last Survivor who is dragging the game out by hiding- or is it okay for a Survivor to drag the game out in order to secure a personal win when their team failed?Dont be mad at the Killer who tries to 4K, be mad at the Survivor who tries to survive.
Let the Killer have a chance for a 4K, they are entitled for this.
What a logic.

Why cant you play until you get them?
To answer your question, they said in the Livestream yesterday that it will happen in the upcoming days.

You know that Prestige has nothing to do with that? All of those could be on P0-characters and you would still be facing the exactly same people.
Sounds like you got backfilled into a Lobby. When a player leaves a Lobby which would have been alright according to MMR, the game prioritizes time over fairness and so someone get backfilled into it who might not belong there. Seems like this happened to you because a more suitable opponent to those Survivors dodged the Lobby before.
