Can you please killswitch that one perk?

I am not going to talk about that one seriously bugged perk that people use atm as exploit to do gens in like half the default time.

I am just curious how the hell that perk is not killswitched yet. I feel insecure to play killer atm because of sudden rise of people knowing about this bug and using it (as always people do in DbD) to their advantage.

This isn't some visual or small bug that you can just kinda ignore or something funny to look at. This is gamebreaking where one side does their objective up to twice as fast.

  • Are you going to tell me all these people that use that specific perk and pair it with a certain item wouldn't use it otherwise? I am shocked!

How this hasn't been killswitched is a mystery to me. It reminds me of the time OoO was bugged and you suddenly saw it every other game. That however only took them hours to killswitch iirc.

  • Its a shame because i unironically like this perk but yes it should be killswitched

  • Yeah idk how it lasted this long since apparently its been as old as the endurance bug.

  • It's like a few months back when Merciless Storm was wiping entire gen progress and wasnt killswitched. For some reason sometimes they just refuse ro use it on broken things.

  • It's "under review". I don't know what else needs to be reviewed after the videos demonstrating it but hey.

    @Xernoton , @Yatol , @Brimp , @TWS001 just so you know, the bug report is there:

    • Platform: PC, possibly every platform
    • Description of the issue: Switching to a toolbox while Potential Energy is active (at least 1 Token) doesnt consume the toolbox even though it speeds up the Tokengain. After a short test in some custom games, this can save up to 15 seconds (no other perks used).
    • Steps to reproduce (worked 4/4 times as of now):

-Start working on a gen without using the toolbox
-Activate Potential Energy and get at least 1 Token
-Immediatly stop repairing and switch to repairing with the tool box
-Repair until potential energy has 20 stacks (toolbox wont be consumed in the process)
    -put in all 20 stacks
-immediatly switch back to repairing without the toolbox
    -repeat

By using an Engineer's Toolbox with Socket Swivels and Clean Rag, you can get a gen done in roughly 66 seconds (not using other perks and being solo). Using the toolbox normally would require roughly 80 seconds to repair a gen.
    • How often does this occur: Everytime you make use of it

  • I dont know. This Perk is bugged, a few maps are also bugged as well and while their chances are reduced, they are still not killswitched.

I just think it would look bad if the Killswitch-List would be too long, since people might not want to play the game in the upcoming weeks (we are having the Anniversary Stream soon, so there is a chance of a influx of new players), when they see that there are 4 maps and a Perk bugged instead of 1 Map.

(Let alone that the Killswitch is so inconsistent. Back in the day they killswitched a Map because a blessed Totem could not be snuffed out, but another Map stayed even when they had Totem Spots which cannot be cleansed. Then sometimes Perks get killswitched for minor things, and sometimes Perks get to stay around with Major things (like the current Bug or also the one time where they allowed Merciless Storm to be around while bugged))

That is just not a good reason to keep these things in. What looks even worse than a long kills witch list is having obviously bugged stuff and exploited things in the game, despite having a feature to disable it, because that just makes it look like the devs don't care... Otherwise just killswitch the perk and the broken map... Worked with RPD as well...

  • They never killswitched Merciless Storm either when it was deleting all gen progress. 🤷🏼‍♂️😅

  • Killswitching is a mysterious on it's own. A few hours ago, the developers killswitched Garden Of Joy due to the bug with which survivors can hold the game hostage but they neither killswitched Hawkins (they are aware of the issue but only reduced the weight of this map - I think they don't know how map offerings work) or this perk that gives a specific toolbox infinitiv charges.

I really hope next week we will get a patch which will fix all of these exploits because it is just sad to face players who abuse these exploits to let the otherside suffer. Only yesterday I had a GoJ-exploit duo and then two matches where some survivors abused this perk-exploit. Yes, it might looks stupid when many things are killswitched but I rather have ten killswitched things then random players who abuse these exploits and give the otherside a miserable match. I also really hope the developers will finally learn from their mistakes and killswitch things when they are broken because there will be always players on both sides who will abuse these exploit when they get an advantage from it (Merciless Storm and Sloppy for example).
