I'm fairly sure that there was a discussion sometime back in which peanits said they would not even do recolors of them.
perhaps I am mistaken, as I can't recall which thread it was on. it was a few months back and there are so many threads on this tired topic.
-
nope, no legacy, no recolors, the devs have stated this multiple times... just find a cosmetic you like and roll with it.
^.^
-
I BOUGHT DBD before it was made free on xbox game pass... I bought multiple copies of it the week before it was made free, in fact. (for wife and a friend)
I am not entitled to or demanding any sort of compensation for that fact. more people get to play the game now and that's a good thing.
people need to stop whining over some in-game cosmetics and get over this idiotic superiority complex they seem to have.
-
think someone needs a time-out.
someone call Steve, isn't he the designated babysitter?
-
the wolf mask, if I'm not mistaken, was earned simply by playing the game during the event. Hooking survivors was all it took.
you kick and scream over this being given away free despite how easy it was to obtain.
then you demand the single most impossible-to-obtain skins which had to be earned by being here from the very start of the game and an insane amount of work.
you're in no position to 'demand' anything and I'm glad these event skins are coming freely to other players (even if I have a few of them), if only to knock entitled people like you down a peg.
(honestly I'm glad for the free skins so we can start seeing more diverse characters on console.)
-
feng.
that's it.
I see no reason to throw away bloodpoints and restart the grind.
-
I would have been against this... but after facing swf after swf since the reset... I busted out my spirit and I'm burning through my beads.
tried playing nice and got relentlessly teabagged, body-blocked, and messaged (to BM) after every game. That's apparently what I get for playing hag and pig without meta perks.
for the first time ever I'm going all out on every survivor, sparing only the occasional non-toxic rando that is unfortunate enough to get a match with me.

Honestly this argument is stupid. There a reason why people who get into Harvard don't go to community college. There's a reason people spend thousands on sports cars when they can take a bus. Theres a reason why people wait in line to get in a club. Exclusivity is valued by humans, like it or not. And unless you are a complete socialist, I'm sure there are some exclusive things in your life that you don't share with others.
this has to be the most idiotic response imaginable.
most of what you listed is what comes from living a very privileged life and only highlights what's wrong with that sort of thinking. "I got what I have through money and good luck, but ######### you, you don't deserve to get it, even if it has absolutely no affect on what I already have."

Ok so if the killer shakes their head up and down they should have a chance to get a crick in the neck and be stunned for 10 seconds. Sound fair?
xD
killer gets "sprained muscle" effect and is unable to look in a certain direction (can't look left) for 1 minute.
just kidding, but it made me laugh.
-
it doesn't matter what idea you come up with... it doesn't matter how often this topic is brought up... camping is here to stay.
even if 5 gens are up "ItS sTiLl A lEgIT sTrAtEgY" and the only thing you CAN do is hope your teammates are competent enough to punish the killer by completing as many gens as possible while the troll-killer is still staring at the hook.
to answer the other question... Ruin is almost required in the game currently because of how quickly a competent team can get the generators done. (an issue exacerbated by killers who don't know what map pressure is)
-
Random Mode.
5 people join.
killer player chosen at random.
killer character chosen at random
all players perks and items chosen at random
could definitely spice things up and most people (not all) would likely go in knowing that RNG will be a big factor on who wins.
-
exactly, so why should killers get "recompense"?
no punishment for camping/tunneling, no punishment for teabagging.
not sure why/if they took away hitting a hooked survivor... pretty sure I hit one just last night to stop the screaming (and to make a point about her incessant teabagging).
either way, sorry, survivors shouldn't be punished for that until camping and tunneling is dealt with too.
-
riiiight....
so you stand to make extra money from this move, but you're coming here to expose that fact through sheer benevolence?
-
if someone wants to teabag, let them... then camp/tunnel/mori them.
why make bhvr punish a behavior that you can punish yourself?
-
so the fact that I can 2-4k against coordinated rank 1-4 survivors with killers such as huntress, doctor, wraith, hag, freddy, and ghostface somewhat consistently (with a few horrible rounds here or there that only result in 0-1k) makes them doodoo or unreliable?
I mean... we aren't supposed to get 4k everytime, the average should be closer to 2k, which I'm pretty sure my average is closer to 2k in red/ 3k in purple and easily 4k in yellow/green. (guess it would be something like 3.6-3.7 as a rough estimate)
I'm glad they didn't nerf spirit into the ground and I'm a little sad about how hard they nerfed nurse... but most killers don't need buffs.
some very much do, especially poor amanda... but I'm pretty happy with where most killers are.
-
Not a veteran but been playing for a while.
I've earned some cosmetics, paid for others... never once have I cared about exclusives.
whether I earn an exclusive, buy and exclusive, or miss out on an exclusive... it's all irrelevant to me. (in this game or any other)
this new release adds variety for more players and gets console (which is mostly what I play on) caught up to PC.
I am grateful for this, whether I plan to use any of it or not... people need to stop whining over every little thing the devs do and enjoy the game for what it is.
the devs make mistakes, many of which I have called them out on, but this decision is a good one in my eyes... sorry to the people who have gotten butthurt, but it's not your property to make decisions about.. it's the devs decision.
-
I would absolutely love to have crossplay as well as cross-progression...
I play both on PC and on xbox. (when my pc wants to cooperate with DBD's bs "fullscreen" anyway),
I have absolutely no issue playing against pc users on my xbox... I highly doubt it will be all that different.
some people are more skilled and some are less, the hardware won't really make a crappy killer/survivor suddenly better than you.
-
With rank reset, I was happy that I would be able to start playing more relaxed as killer, able to go out there, kill a few people and giving some other people a free escape or two.
ultimately, I never got to play friendly killer cause I ran into one toxic swf after another repeatedly. what happened? I stomped the toxic players into the dirt.
7 rounds and I got 3-4k on every one of them, save for a 2k... even let one or two non-toxic players go. (I assume they were randos, or just didn't take the time to teabag or clicky-click their light).
long story short... if you're getting bullied, maybe you should wait for the ranks to rebalance a bit or face the facts that you're not as good as you think you are.
-
cool. glad we agree, at least.
-
I mean... yea, it's pretty sad... but so is reveling in someone else's frustration.
guess I have to be the one to call that out so you realize how sad that is.
-
being happy over someone else's frustration... what a sad life must that be.
-
yay for reset, I can go and play friendly killer again without having to worry so much about super toxic swf groups.
or at least... saving my kills for those particular players and letting the chill ones survive.
-
I'm optimistic about the new killer honestly.
-
the biggest issue I have with it is that this game is not free... or hasn't been free for very long.
I bought three copies of the game... my xbox1, my PC, My wife's Xbox1...
then I bought (almost) all of the DLC...
so they made the initial profit, then profit from DLC, then profit off cosmetics, and then add yet another way to profit via the paid battlepass.
Ill be more forgiving if some of the leaked challenges do, in fact, get changed and simplified, but from what I've seen they want to take your money with a promise of a chance to earn it back, and then set the bar too high to get it.
just how much money do they need for a game they can't fix the spaghetti code for? a game they continuously fail to balance? and one that is plagued by performance issues with every new patch?
I love this game, and I certainly don't hate the developers, I know their job isn't exactly easy... but the constant monetization is wearing my patience thin.
-
typical victim shaming. pathetic.
the survivor already has to deal with a camping, tunneling doctor and a dc... but he should be mad at Jake or claudette. I could understand being mad at Feng.
but claudette, she's not even going to get to play in this round... The killer decided that she's only going to be allowed to play hook simulator (tap buttons to enjoy your stay).
and Jake, he likely just wanted to get the round over with at this point...
meanwhile, the killer is being toxic and sweaty... I main killer and it drives me up a wall to see my fellow killers play like this... it ruins the game. 4 people have a ######### round so that 1 loser can get his rocks off by bullying them.
-
I actually like this idea... it would be nice to see an entire group (including killer) unanimously saying "this round is for fun, no salt required."
-
no, I play xbox and solo-queue is almost exactly as she said.
I don't play at rank 1 survivor, I average in the yellow ranks... I did a tally of my own the other day and the results were similar, but a different set of data was collected.
20 games,
I got 5 games that did not have camp or tunnel. 3 of those games I escaped.and when I say camp I MEAN camp. not proxy camp, not guarding a hook, camping... as in will not move more than 5 feet unless its to chase off a survivor and come right back.
I discount an additional escape because the killer let us escape after finishing their daily.
sometimes I was able to save the camped survivor, thanks to borrowed time, but that usually meant I was the new target and often died because noone else would risk it.
I get the impression that red ranks are easier for survivor because killers who camp and tunnel don't tend to get up to those ranks and (for the most part) survivors are better... I literally cannot get above purple because it's an endless camp/tunnel-fest, or I'm the odd man out who gets sacrificed by the swf.
-
I prefer it without the grab... hatch standoffs aren't something I miss in the slightest.
-
first. yes, those stats are old and Spirit has had no changes since then (that I'm aware of), but there have been a number of survivor changes which likely increased her kill ratio.
second, I whole-heartedly agree that the devs should make more of an effort to provide the community with more reliable updates and statistics to help us see where's they're coming from.
and third, this isn't a killer vs survivor competition thread, please quit whining about the imaginary challenges killers face... survivor and killer both have their pros and cons, killer isn't some poor abused little creature... go play f13 jason if you want to play the victim game.
-
I rarely have issues out of DS... every now and then I'll grab someone I hooked a while back (after chasing someone else or looking around for stealthy survivors) and I'll get hit with it... but since I actively try not to tunnel people (unless they're being toxic) then I don't really get hit with it to often.
I will say that I wish I had it on more survivors... cause every round I've played today has been a camp/tunnel fest.
-
same would need to be applied to killers and that would really suck...
-
I play on xbox and in red ranks its awful for killer, sure... but every other rank is basically a stomp-fest on survivors.
I have trouble surviving against almost any killer in almost any rank. (likely because I'm rarely playing SWF and my friends aren't all that great either). but I main killer and I rarely have trouble out of 90% of survivors outside of red ranks. the occasional clicky, teabagging, pro-looper... but I 'usually' get them by the end of the match anyway.
seems like many killers don't know how to play strategically and then whine when they lose. (you should herd survivors where you want them to be, drop pointless chases, guide them to 3-gen themselves, don't focus on the designated looper... tactics.)
-
we're all just gamers trying to enjoy our freetime on a game we enjoy.
you aren't a killer, you aren't a survivor. you're just a gamer staying indoors and playing videogames. (just like me)
there's no harm in showing mercy to a team you clearly outmatch, just remember that there are trash people playing this game.
toxic killers and toxic survivors both exist and they are all just toxic players, the toxic wraith that camped you and spammed his "bing-bong" is likely the same toxic Nea that teabagged everytime she dropped a pallet...
show mercy to those you can and slug/camp/tunnel/BM the toxic little twats you find if you have the opportunity.
tldr;
people suck, don't take it too personally.

I spam ready up, so they think im farming.
Nod your head and hit some gens when the trial started. Once they feel safe, slaughter them all.
This is just saaaaaaad.
xD
-
sometimes it's not even about "fun"... it's about good sportsmanship. being a decent person to your fellow gamers... something that seems to be a farfetched concept for most.
if I've noticed a specific survivor has been having trouble and I catch them easily, I might just slug them instead of using their 3rd hook...
if a killer hasn't killed anyone by the time the gates are open, I may intentionally "mess up" so they get an extra hook or at least a hit and some chase points.
but toxic players? nah, they get what they give...
-
they aren't quitting over cosmetics.
and I don't blame them for quitting. Balancing issues, server issues, new issues with every patch that have to be repatched, auric cell issues, excessively toxic player-base, and a poorly done battle pass that seems more like a cash-grab than a "feature" ...
I love this game, but the decisions they make as a company infuriate me most of the time. many things I'll push past because I can't imagine what its like to be in their shoes... but stuff like this battlepass?
too far in the wrong direction.
-
if survivors are getting gens done in less than 5 minutes... then I have failed at one of my basic requirements as killer. pressure.
-
Spirit honestly doesn't need a nerf... if anything they could just add an audio clue to her whereabouts while in her phase-walk and/or make grass and corn shift when she walks through them.
people who have trouble with her really just need to learn how to mindgame better... and I say that knowing that a good spirit will stomp me quite often.
it's not a coin-toss stacked in her favor, she still has to use information provided to make an educated guess... I will admit that survivors could use a little more information to help even the odds a bit though.
-
I have said this many times before and it still holds true for me.
I am a killer main, though I will admit I avoid red ranks because of the BS. But with that said, I have to intentionally avoid red ranks cause I have almost no trouble as killer. (spirit, pig, gf)
Most of the time, I play friendly. I won't camp, I won't tunnel, I aim for two hooks per survivor and usually pick one or two to kill while letting the others escape.
the main exception to this are toxic groups that want to teabag everytime they drop a pallet or bodyblock en masse. I will go super sweaty tryhard to ensure I kill as many as possible in that scenario.
Even when I fail, and they escape, I don't feel too stressed or too 'put out' by it...
meanwhile, playing as survivor frustrates me to no end. the camping, the tunneling, the useless rando teammates that let me complete 3-4 gens and for some reason still don't break any totems so I end up dead to NOED at the end while they escape with 7,000 points.
I prefer playing killer, but aside from rank 1-4, I would swear up and down, survivors have it WAY harder...
-
I'm just hoping the mass amount of backlash over this BS will make the devs reconsider some of these requirments.
there's difficult, and then there's ridiculous... just seems like a way to 'coax' players into forking over more cash... like paying for the game and its dlc isn't enough.
-
pretty sure they still get some of the profit in one way or another, otherwise there would be no point in putting the game on the console to begin with... much less to allow them to make it "free" through xbox gamepass.
regardless, I'm extremely annoyed with them constantly adding new ways to profit off their playerbase when they already drain wallets through endless dlc.
-
The main issue I have with the latest money grab they have implemented is that I still can't take the dlc Ive bought from xbox and use it on pc.
I should have bought it on the pc instead, sure... but now I've dumped somewhere near 80 bucks into my account on xbox and I can't use it on the pc at all.
I would be fine with that, except that now, to top it all off, they have a new moneygrab they want to drain their playerbase with, without any compensation.
I bought this game before it was made free through xbox game pass, I bought it for my wife, I brought in over 10 of my friends to buy this game (many of which didn't stick around because of the blatant issues).
I refuse to buy the same DLC all over again AND to be slapped in the face by the new premium battle pass BS. I won't even waste my time taking part in it if this is how our "new content" is going to be.
-
sounds like someone doesn't know when to take the swing and when to maneuver around the obstacle.
-
I'm sure the bugs are a major issue for newcomers... but as I have tried desperately to get some of my friends to play this game and have repeatedly had them quit over camping and tunneling... I would say the toxic behavior is "one" of the biggest reasons new players quit.
-
right, cause Franklin's doesn't exist, and its not like the Mori's will drastically tip the scales in the killers favor either.
no no, the children running around dropping pallets are truly the force to be reckoned with...
why don't we just take out all survivor items AND pallets so that killers will finally have the slaughter simulator they all crave?
-
the "team" victory doesn't really apply when survivors don't get bloodpoints simply because one of the others survived.
survivors only get escape points if THEY survive... so... no... it's not really all that team oriented.
-
okay, so experienced players will be able to determine it, so why offer the information as an immediate identification?
at least them determining it through the extended cleansing time would take extra time to identify instead of a single tap.
-
yep, I've had that problem myself... took me forever to convince a few friends of mine to give dbd a try.
it lasted all of a week before they uninstalled, blaming the grind and the camping/tunneling...
but its a part of the game, and even I can admit the game has balance issues on both sides of the fence... the matchmaking definitely needs to get fixed...
I've been absolutely destroying some poor rank 18-20's lately, but I can't go easy on people anymore cause I never know if I might be up against toxic swf rank 1-4's that destroy me at the slightest show of kindness. (its a no-win situation)
-
diversion definitely needs some kind of buff... stealthplay for survivors is a bit of a joke right now
-
absolutely, don't get me wrong... I may wish a fiery death upon certain people while I'm playing, but I won't message them anything like that... nor am I serious in those temporary wishes.
I may message them and ask what makes them play a certain way, like a trapper who slugged the first victim then followed them around until they bled out cause no one could pick them up... but I'm not usually overly salty about it.
(turns out that trapper was new, so we teamed up on swf and I tried to show him the ropes before he got sick of survivor and I took him to KYF to give him some pointers)
