I don't understand why he's so hated and so low tier to people. Yea his counter is splitting up and not healing, but survivors usually don't know where each other are all the time and at some point meet up. A survivor being injured is either a good or bad thing for you, they could be 99% or simply just staying injured. If they're 99%, it's a normal chase if they can pop it off in time, if they just stay injured to counter Feral Frenzy, they're one hit, if they're your final target and they're injured beforehand, just don't Slash them and you get a down pretty soon if you can catch them in time. Yes, Legion is extremely weak in chase, he's just an M1 killer, but that's not to say being an M1 killer is the worst thing ever, your power is pretty good info and enduring can make up for a lot of Legion's chase weakness. Once you learn his basekit and the things you can do with it, you can make some tricks of your own that can help you out tremendously. I think Legion's good but does need some buffs, but I just feel bad for him because he's bullied all the time by people

Legion main here, he's a feel bad killer. You're not counterplaying Legion, you just have to wait for him to hit you with frenzy and then you have to sit still and mend every single time. If you heal you're wasting time and if you don't you're one shot always.

    Feel bad

Dude you have too much time on your hands, and you seem pretty angry about some, thing that isn’t dbd. Peanits said something that you feel is “Obviously” not true so therefore it can only be “people like me”

I don’t know what to say. Please stop messaging/copying me

Lmao, I have an opinion and I know how to defend it and that means I have too much time on my hands? I'm sorry your arguments are trash but that's not my problem

Message them...like every other person on console. Can write love letters in crossplay? Boo hoo

Also, it has nothing to do with “people like me,” pretty sure if it’s been 3 years on console, it’s something they can’t do, or don’t care to invest in. So, relax almighty one

Also, it has nothing to do with “people like me,”

Except it literally does because even Peanits the community manager on here stated that it would be difficult for console players to type on controller and we already know that's not true. The only other reason besides sheer laziness is because of "toxicity" which considering even PC has the option to just close the text box, wow! Suddenly people who don't want to see that don't have to!

Obviously people shouldn't be toxic in the first place, but considering you literally have the option to get rid of the chat that you admit you don't like and you refuse to do so, that's not BHVR's fault, that's YOUR fault!

pretty sure if it’s been 3 years on console, it’s something they can’t do,

Why wouldn't they be able to do it? What about playing on console suddenly makes sending a message impossible? Explain. Especially if it's in a postgame lobby or before a SWF even searches for a game it makes no sense why chat WOULDN'T be in the game. There's no timer to worry about!

or don’t care to invest in

Well that's literally the problem that we're complaining about now isn't it? I'm asking the community to support this so that the devs DO care to invest in it. Console players are part of this community and they should have the same tools as the rest of the people in this community do.

  • Yeah, people like you. You claim that people are toxic in DbD, yet you continue to look at the chat and continue to be bothered by what you see. You claim to have negative experiences in chat, so close the chat, don't look at it then if it bothers you.

I and plenty of other people have had plenty of good experiences in the chat and it's dumb to get rid of chat completely simply because people are going to be salty in an online multiplayer game. If I have a good experience with another individual, I would like to continue having those experiences, I cannot do this if they literally can't see what I'm typing to them.

ABSOLUTELY NOT. if you play on console and never play on PC, thank the heavens you never have to experience pre-game or post game chat.

Within 5 matches of playing the PTB today, the following:

    Game #1:

    Pre-game chat:

"Hey guys, med kits look a little weird?" "You know what looks weird, you're mom's p***y, that's right, get f'ed"

Post-game chat: (same game, different survivor)

    "that ######### dc'ed loooool" "?" "eat s***t p****y"

Game 2:Post-game chat (killer): "Why did I bring party streamers if 2 of you pussies are just gonna DC. Can't handle a god-like killer can you?"

    Game 3: Post-game chat (killer and survivor): "######### all of you #########, ######### #########"

Game 4: Post-game chat (everyone): "ggs"

Game 5: Post game chat (everyone): "ggs"

Last time I played off the PTB (played on PC for about 2 months, months ago) was usually some form of racist remarks, that you should go #########, a narcissist who raves about their body and starts calling you overweight and how you need to look at their instagram and pleasure yourself to them (not kidding, that was from a baby streamer too), etc.

Seriously - if they add chat to console I'm done. That's the main reason I don't play on PC, except for the PTB anymore (and even that, I usually only play 3-5 games)

People like you who don't know that a mute or in this case a "close chat" function exists are the reason why Console doesn't have chat

  • @Vanan said:

Because it's not just "a few" bad apples it's much worse than that. And they are even making threats or telling people to kill themselves. These are real problems we are not talking "camping" or "t-bagging" here which people wants to fix. This is much much worse, and we have such an easy solution for this.

We do have an easy solution, close the chat if you don't want to participate in it.

  • His response basically amounts to, "CoNsOlE pLaYeRs No TyPe FaSt" which is just untrue. Maybe people that aren't used to doing it but like I said, you play any CoD game and you'll get hundreds of salty comments written at lightning speed.

Agreed, most people on DBD act like there 12 yrs old and there dad is a VP with the hells angels. Think they can say and do whatever they want, internet rockstars but face to face meh.

So what exactly is the problem with turning off the chat if you experience so many "toxic" people? PC players can do this no problem, I don't understand why this couldn't be done for Console players who don't want chat.

A few bad apples shouldn't ruin the bunch for all of the good boys and girls who actually want to be able to play the game with other people.

Also, wouldn't you find less toxic players by queuing up with people you know are friendly and want to work together with you? How do you expect to find these people without a chat? DbD is objectively more fun playing with friends, makes zero sense to not do this. There's a discord but then you have to download a whole separate app just to be able to talk to people when there's a perfectly good chat function built into the game that the devs don't want to use for some reason.

Phase Walk and Frenzy are comparable. Both give speed boosts and achieve 1 damage state on a single survivor. The difference is Legion's Frenzy has 0 counterplay. He can see the survivor, vault windows and pallets, and know exactly where the survivors are with killer instinct. Basically once he goes into Frenzy that hit is guaranteed. Spirit cannot see the survivor, has to take into account windows and pallets, and gives off that she is phasing from a greater distance.

Legion is stronger than Spirit for a few reasons. Legion:

is 115 ms, which is a massive advantage

has a stronger power. Frenzy has no counterplay, can damage multiple survivors, applies Deep Wound, and gives information

Legion is stronger after ending Frenzy compared to Spirit after ending Phase. When Spirit hits a survivor after phasing, the survivor gets a speed boost and gets to run far away. After Legion hits the survivor, he can catch up and potentially body block a nearby pallet or window.

Legion can get free pallet drops in Frenzy by waiting at the pallet

Legion can Pop the Weasel a generator than catch up with Frenzy

If you watch Otz's VODs when he was practicing Legion, he basically got 3-4 kill every game at rank 1 with no addons proving Legion is a fully capable killer. I doubt Spirit could achieve the same. This is the VOD https://www.twitch.tv/videos/638323493?t=00h30m27s I think (didn't check all of it).

If anyone is wondering what my rank is, it is rank 1.

Edit: as it seems people are still in disbelief, I have made a record of the amount of kills Otz got in this VOD as Legion at rank 1 (https://www.twitch.tv/videos/638323493)

3/4 (he gave last survivor hatch intentionally)

    4

    4

    4

    4

3/4 (he downed the last survivor but let her live intentionally)

    4

    4

    4

    4

    Kill rate = 100%

Have you... played as Legion and Spirit to be making these claims?

"know exactly where the survivors are with killer instinct"

This only works in their terror radius even then, after the first hit, what are they going to do? Like there's so much wrong in this post its not even worth going over it all

Positively impressed with the Billy and Bubba changes.

They introduced so many cool things with these new reworks. I really like the sound Billy does when going into a sprint now, the smoke when the chainsaw gets overheated is so cool, and the sparks of the chainsaw. Also, the addons rework just make perfect sense: They actually offer you new interesting abilities in exchange for some trade offs. They're not just "okay now you can instantly chainsaw". "Okay now you can instantly recover from ######### up and bumping into stuff".

I believe this should be the future of every killer's addons. Make interesting, new, fresh addons that are not about "ok your base power is twice as strong now mind game that". But actually give us something new. Same with Bubba's addons and rework. They are something new. Addons should never be simply buffing the base power into ridiculous levels with little to no counter. That's boring.

Only people who main one side and exclusively care about their own fun supports things like those. Just like people believing old Brand New Parts were balanced, or still think Nurse didn't need a rework (still does in my opinion) or Spirit is balanced and/or takes any skill to use in her current state.

We should welcome fresh, innovative changes like these so the game is actually more fun.

Okay, you mention how changes like these make the game more fun, but the thing is much of what Billy "fun" for the people who mained him has been taken away. Your "fun" has been given to you at the expense of the Billy mains' fun, which most certainly is not fun.

Another thing being, how are the Billy changes going to be fun for you if you're hardly going to see him in Survivor matches and chances are, never going to play as him when he releases. How is that fun?

  • So basically the whole reasoning behind this theory is, the 4 fits on pyramid head's pyramid.

I swear if this actually turns out to be true and that's legit the clue that BHVR gave us that would be one of the dumbest things I've ever seen

  • In summary:

    Community: *asks question*

Dev Team: No / No plans to do so

  • @Peanits said:

I just want to clarify one thing; while we aren't planning to make it automatic, that does not mean that it won't ever be changed to something else (something other than button mashing).

Don't lie, we all know BHVR has a deal with keyboard companies to make us expend as many as possible

  • Trapper gameplay at least in higher ranks usually just devolves into 3 genning yourself and slapping all your traps around those three gens. That is unless you're a god tier trapper who is okay with roaming around but I feel in that case you might as well play a different killer. Trapper needs some QoL buffs but otherwise there's nothing wrong with him.

Legion is fun enough, I main them so I would hope so. Against small brain survivors, Legion is super entertaining as all they'll so is heal and drop pallets for the slightest things. Against survivors that know how to stand in front of a gen and hold down M1, Legion is rough.

I am tired of seeing all this posts asking for it to get nerfed

You survivor mains can handle dodging a full set of hatches, but as soon as you realize it's iridescent heads you can't?

Survivors should just "adapt" to the killer power and perks

If the huntress has iridescent heads you need to

    -dodge the hatches

    -avoid vaulting pallets and windows

    -use walls as your ally

    -use stealth

just stop asking for nerfs when you refuse to adapt and try to learn to counter it

Sadly they're in it to make money. They did put the characters on sale at 30% off in the in-game store if you buy them with Auric cells, and their associated perks are in the shrine.

The dumb part is, allowing a trial version of the characters WOULD get them more money. Wouldn't you want to buy something you've already tried MORE than something you haven't?

  • Honestly the amount of information BHVR is actually stupid depending on where you're at.

1 thing that really bugs me and I'm shocked that there isn't uproar about this is the stupid ass "Slightly" "Moderately" and "Considerably" they put for stats instead of just hard numbers.

Like I don't understand, how hard is it to just put in straight numbers in the fields instead of this mystery crap. If I'm playing Legion and I know my ability cooldown is 4 seconds, reducing it by "Slightly" does absolutely nothing for me. What the hell does slightly mean? You have to go to an outside resource to fine the hard numbers on what everything does?

Seriously? Is it that hard to change some numbers around whenever you do a change once a century or do they not want the players to realize how garbage the majority of addons are?

  • @Kimura said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/118900/you-dont-understand-from-a-newbies-point-of-view

I can understand this line of thinking, but when I was a newbie and I went up against ruin, I just would either peel away to find the totem or practice hitting the skill checks. I'm 1000% sure I caused some anger to other players by messing up the skill check, but it's a obstacle to overcome, that's why they added hex totems in the first place, to make OP perks that can be turned off. I understand that it's not fun to play against, but eventually you can learn to hit them and then when the killer doesn't have it, you do gens faster. From a killer perspective, I run ruin because any advantage to gen times is essential because I enjoy playing trappers and low mobility characters. That small bit of time it'll save by resetting the gen or just taking away the bonus of greats or maybe that one survivor who goes to clean is it a little bit more time I have to atleast make it across the map to check all the survivor spawns and gens. Generator times are a definite problem. Back when this game was still focused on being horror, they were fine because people were immersed, but as survivors become more optimized doing gens and running loops better, the skill ceiling for survivor has skyrocketed drastically while killer is harder and harder to play. Ruin wasn't good, but the reason 80% of people used it was because gen times are too fast for most killers to keep up with.

That's my point though, Gen times, Map sizes are definitely a problem. What I don't agree with is putting up a barrier of skill for people at all levels to do skill checks. Fact of the matter is not everybody is able or even willing to dedicate time to practicing getting great skill checks consistently and they shouldn't be punished for not doing so.

Ruin could've been changed for example to be a flat repair reduction, maybe even like 5% slow just so Ruin serves the purpose it was intended to do without being a pain in the butt to play against.

The problem is BHVR went to Blizzard's school for balancing where instead of adjusting in a healthy manner they just kill whatever thing is strong and then rarely buff

  • @LustForBP said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/980228#Comment_980228

Each of those survivor perks has a different play style and meaning of use. I see a lot of players still run Lithe into red ranks.

The problem isn’t perks, it’s the players.

Right, No Mither isn't objectively a trash perk that is only seen in meme gen repair builds, it's just the players who don't know how to use the perk that are the problem.

Even if you don't like the perks that I suggested, there's 0 chance that you can say that every perk is good and doesn't have any problems that can be addressed.

  • @JawsIsTheNextKiller said:

Can you get DS and repair speed nerfed next please? Or get them to buff Legion?

    You take requests right?

Buffing Legion sounds like a solid idea, please take requests

  • I agree that Ruin needed to be changed simply because new players shouldn't have to deal with an objective skill barrier just so they can play the game normally. However of course, because BHVR doesn't know how to balance, they botched another rework so now the perk doesn't even do it's intended purpose anymore

  • It's because BHVR rarely buffs impactful things mostly just straight up nerfs things people like or use frequently. Even changes they intend to be positive come out as nerfs. Doctor change has basically been concluded as a straight up bad change, if this comes out to be true, this is going to be the 3rd rework they've completely botched and end up making the killer worse as Nurse, Legion and assuming Doctor getting the axe. When you're running a 25% batting record on making reworks for your killers, yeah people are going to be pissed. The only good rework they've ever made was with Freddy and he was so bad it was basically impossible to make him worse.

A lot of what BHVR does and even their reasoning for doing so is flawed. They claim that Killers in red ranks have a high kill percentage majority of the time but they also forget that their matchmaking is so bad that a lot of matches end up getting games with red ranks, purple ranks, green even yellow ranks. Last night I got a game as Rank 1 killer with 2 red ranks, a green rank and a rank 18 survivor. How is that good? Of course it was a stomp, half of their team barely knew what they were doing.

They change Ruin, one of the most popular perks in the game without understanding why people feel the need to run the perk in the first place or even try to address why objectively Hex perks are some of the worst in the game.

A good solution to the stale Survivor and Killer loadouts is to buff other, weaker perks to provide players more options in selecting their loadouts. For example for Killers, with the new Ruin it just seems like a better version of Surge, an already niche rarely used perk. Since you can't use both anyway now without seeing conflicts, why didn't they just buff Surge and give Killers a meaningful choice on which one they would rather use? Even with Survivors, when you have options like Dead Hard, Sprint Burst, and Balanced Landing, why tf would you ever run Lithe? Why can't that perk get a slight buff so it's more relevant? Or even a trash tier perk like No Mither?

Just everything they do seems incredibly short sighted, like they're putting bandaids over the problems instead of just performing surgery and fixing the damn thing

Everybody: True, the shocks are annoying as hell and it doesn't even do anything major to the game it's just a nuisance

Devs: Okay, so we made the killer unplayable instead so you'll never face them again

    Everybody: Wat

  • This is a bad take, running Ruin right now is a coin flip of whether or not you're going to get value from it; problem is Killer mains need to, or at the very least feel the need to run it as insurance for them to be able to play the game.

The inconsistency and the ability to completely ignore this perk made it futile. yet all you Killers kept using it and getting survivors who don't know HOW to do great skillchecks and claiming you got value from it. You just went against people who were bad at the game. Good survivors find Ruin within minutes of the game, or just hit greats.

Even if the ruin gets broken within the first couple of minutes, that's usually enough time to get the ball rolling in your favor. I play Legion and my ruin gets broken early all the time, however by the time that's happened I've probably downed 1 or even 2 people so it doesn't matter, the early game has been controlled and the game is going in my favor. I literally cannot play the way I want to because killers like Legion, Clown, Doctor, Leatherface among other killers have ZERO control of the early game and that's when the deciding factors of the trial take place. When literally taking a coinflip on value is a better option than running 4 normal perks, you don't think there's a bigger problem at play here than just, "this perk isn't fun to play against?" I do not want to play high tier killers, running Ruin is an easy way to give myself a fighting chance at red ranks.

Even if players are hitting greats every time, that's still progress being halted in my favor, the game is still be slowed even if by a tiny bit. Ruin is still doing it's job.

The problem within the game lies within toolboxes and Map RNG, but that's another discussion as well.

You literally just answered your own question. You dislike getting ruin in 80% of your games yet you hit the nail on the head on why you are getting that result. Gens are getting finished too quickly, the maps are too big, the gens are too far apart. If you're not playing Billy, Nurse, Spirit, or Freddy you physically have no way of pressuring these gens in the early game. If you can't control the early game, then mid to late game hardly matter because as long as you don't have Peanut Brains on the survivor team that can't hold down M1, the gens will be finished.

If you know that Killers are running ruin in response to inherent problems with the mechanics of the game, why is this a question for you? Why do you think nerfing Ruin is a good idea when these problems STILL exist in the game?

I might just have too many hours, I have played on a different account every now and then thats sitting between ranks 10-15 as killer and im not having any problems getting 4k's. When you're a good killer all the survivors need to be good or they will have a hard time trying to survive.

Edit: I rarely don't play in red ranks on my main account so I consider red and purple ranks to be where skilled survivors are and its usually true when i come across a swf group who has a R12 that i didn't have a hard time catching.

Playing Legion at red ranks is not fun in the slightest. It's a 50/50 as to whether or not I get a stomp because the survivors are potatoes for some reason or the survivors know how to hold down M1 and run in a circle and it's almost impossible to win.

  • @Peanits said:

Of course, we'll keep fixing bugs, toning back things that are too powerful and buffing things that are too weak. The Doctor is going to get some much needed love pretty soon.

That was my assumption as well, until I read the map lore that Auron linked above. That, and the fact that the devs said in their Cursed Legacy BTS video that they had this idea from the time when they were creating Spirit. So unless they're flat-out lying, which I see no reason for them to do, the connection has been planned for a long time and we just didn't pick up on that tidbit in the lore until now.

    So unless they're flat-out lying

Is it bad that I find that more believable from the devs than them actually making a well thought out narrative?

  • @Fibijean said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/910038#Comment_910038

That's really cool, so basically they've been planning this since the release of the Spirit and none of us realised.

I mean, I really doubt that they planned on Oni being a killer since the release of Spirit. Nothing about Spirit lore implies the existence of Oni, literally the only connection they have outside of family name is the katana.

Do we even know that they're the same sword?

What most likely happened is that the devs just decided to make a character based off of an Oni and felt like tacking it onto the family lore of Spirit just because they could

  • While Feral Frenzy is active, hitting a Survivor who is not currently afflicted with Deep Wound status effect:

Applies the Deep Wound status effect.

Injures the survivor, if they are not already injured, or downs them if they are.

Refills The Killer's entire power gauge.

Triggers 'Killer Instinct', revealing the location of all Survivors who are within The Killer's Detection Range.

Wasn't the ability to down people in Feral Frenzy the reason Legion got nerfed in the first place on release? I'm pretty sure your version is not only stronger than release Legion but even more unfun. That's the issue people are having with Feral Frenzy, not just that it's weak but that when it's strong it's absolutely unfun to play against. I genuinely believe Feral Frenzy cannot work as an ability, it cannot be strong and fun to play against.

They've invested far too much time in Legion to just "rework" them (again) at this point. Thanks to Legion and Deep Wound, they've suffered a lot of headaches.

Yeah, generally throwing things at a wall hoping it sticks is a good way to waste time. All the time they've wasted trying to "fix" Legion is their faults alone

Also if any devs read this, REWORK LEGION

The Former Fanatical Legion Main here to tell you...Go with the Blessing of The Legion. You are doing good work here with this well thought out post. To contribute, I'll give my favorite rework from my massive thread.

AND NOW for a REALLY good idea from @MongByeolBuddies

Here's my idea to help with, imo, Legion's two main problems:

    * For killers, that’s getting a second hit and downing the survivor.

    * For survivors, it's having to mend, which is boring and makes Legion obnoxious to go against.

My solution -- Change the Deep Wound status effect and give Legion a secondary power -- Mob Mentality.

    -------------------------

    Feral Frenzy:

Hitting a survivor not affected by the Deep Wound status effect during Feral Frenzy applies DW and gives Legion 1 charge of Mob Mentality.

Deep Wound now applies a 20 percent penalty to repair, healing and sabotage speeds.

Survivors now remove the DW status effect by healing to full health, not by mending. DW lasts indefinitely.

Hitting a survivor affected by DW during Feral Frenzy applies 1 more DW. Survivors suffering from 4 Deep Wounds will enter the dying state. This will be tracked on the HUD.

Legion cannot use Mob Mentality during Feral Frenzy.

Legion can have up to 3 charges of Mob Mentality at one time.

    ------------------------

    Mob Mentality:

Press the secondary power button to use 1 charge and summon a Legion member.

Any survivor within 16 meters of Legion will hear an audio cue -- a whistle -- when Mob Mentality is used.

The Legion member will appear 2 seconds later, crouched down in the spot you summoned him or her and wait for any survivor to get within range. When a survivor is within range, the Legion member will lunge at the survivor and attempt to hit them.

If a healthy survivor is hit, he or she will be injured; if an injured survivor is hit, he or she will enter the dying state.

Regardless of whether the hit connects, the Legion member will dissipate in a cloud of smoke.

Legion can summon all three other members this way. If Legion summons a member while all three members are currently on the map, the first member to be summoned will switch to the new location. Legion cannot summon members within 8 meters of another member.

Survivors within 16 meters of Legion members can detect them by looking in their direction for 3 seconds. During detection, survivors will receive an audio cue. Once fully detected, the Legion members will dissipate in a cloud of smoke.

If a survivor sets off a Mob Mentality trap, the Legion receives an audio and visual cue. If survivors fully detect a Legion member, the Legion does not receive an audio and visual cue.

Also, Mob Mentality is a trap so perks, such as Small Game, will work against it.

    ----------------------------------------------------

Add-on changes to reflect the new Deep Wound status effect and Mob Mentality:

Smiley Face Pin -- Start with 1 charge of Mob Mentality.

Defaced Smiley Pin -- Start with 1 charge of Mob Mentality. The auras of survivors who fully detect a Legion member or are hit by him or her are revealed for 3 seconds.

The Legion Pin -- Start with 2 charges of Mob Mentality. The auras of survivors who fully detect a Legion member or are hit by him or her are revealed for 5 seconds.

Nasty Blade -- Slightly increases the penalty to Repair, Healing and Sabotage speeds (5 percent) to survivors suffering from the Deep Wound status effect.

Filthy Blade -- Moderately increases the penalty to the Repair, Healing and Sabotage speeds (10 percent) to survivors suffering from the Deep Wound status effect.

Frank’s Mixed Tape -- Legion members are invisible to survivors outside of 8 meters.

Fuming Mixed Tape -- Legion no longer needs charges to use Mob Mentality. MM now has a 10-second cooldown. The Legion can no longer use Feral Frenzy.

    -----------------------------------------------------

This will allow Legion to still be a rush down killer and buffs them by providing them a tool -- Mob Mentality -- to counter looping, as well as set ambushes.

This new change also allows Legion to use Mob Mentality whenever Legion wants (albeit not in Feral Frenzy), and the survivor will only be aware that Legion has used MM if the survivor is within 16 meters of Legion when MM is used.

The change to the DW status effect also means survivors no longer have to worry about mending. Survivors suffering from DW can heal themselves back to full health slightly slower than normal or the survivor can find a teammate not suffering from DW to heal back to full health without any speed penalty -- making going against Legion more enjoyable for survivors.

(This also would get rid of a few not strictly Legion problems: Nurse’s Calling not detecting mending and other anti-healing perks not affecting mending, and killers who can drop their terror radiuses like Freddy and The Pig making the DW timer tick down while still chasing a survivor, which feels cheap.)

(Borrowed Time can be changed to something like: After unhooking a Survivor within the Killer's Terror Radius, for 11/13/15 seconds, any damage taken that would put the unhooked Survivor into the Dying State will instead apply the Deep Wound status effect.)

Plus, I think it would be awesome for Legion to actually play like, you know, a Legion! Lastly, if possible, it would be extremely cool if the teammates you summoned could wear any cosmetics you’ve acquired, making it so you could customize the look of your own Legion.

And now a variation of the above by @pemberley !

I propose that we take the same concept of Mob Mentality but instead the member seizes and holds the survivor in place for the player to stab. Every player in the map gets a scream notification, the killer sees the aura too. The grasp is inescapable except through other flashlight or cracker saves, if the survivor has a cracker themselves, or if the survivor “wiggles” like normal and claws at their hand or elbows them in the face - this would disable the trap, I think this would be more in line with Legion, it’s lore friendly, and probably won’t require as much code spaghetti as making accurate ai.

Which Mong added that the grab could give them either Exposed/Oblivious or both cause they are fighting out of the grab! Even if it didn't there are Add-on ideas that could do it!

This is such a good idea, the devs won't use it though because it's too creative and interesting to play against.

If they would like to prove me wrong, it would be really cool if you could customize every summon-able Legion member.

Legion's ability, Feral Frenzy, has nothing to do with the lore of the Legion.

(and yes im seriously nitpicking but everything else makes sense)

Does every's killer ability have something to do with their lore?

You can definitely make the argument that the early killers did not have this trait as their backstories are often extremely short and vague if anything, however I'd say past Nurse, every other killer besides Legion has a fitting ability to their lore or character. It's definitely the weakest part of my rant but I felt it should be stated anyway as it is something that the devs should be taking into account when creating these characters. It shows that actual thought was put into these characters and that they aren't just creating "functions" within their game.

Trapper - Traps: Nothing necessarily lore related but makes sense because that's his name.

Wraith - Wailing Bell: You got me here, there's no reason why he should turn invis.

Hillbilly - Chainsaw: "There was never a buyer for the farmhouse. Perhaps because of that sounds of a chainsaw you could hear throughout those hot summer nights." It's the very last sentence of his lore but I'll give it to the devs it fits I guess.

Nurse - Spencer's Last Breath: He was apparently a warden at the asylum the nurse worked at, but yeah this one doesn't make sense either.

Huntress - Hunting Hatchets: Finally we get more than 2 paragraphs of lore. This one is easy, Huntress's lore is basically all about hunting in the forest, her signature axe is mentioned many times throughout the story. While the hatchets themselves aren't mentioned, it's not out hard to believe that she could use hatchets.

Hag - Blackened Catalyst: "Lisa was particularly fond of the charms they taught her to draw for safety and good fortune." "Delirious, she thought of home; she thought of the elders. With her dying breath, she etched the symbols they had taught her into the floor..."In the cellar, amid rotting corpses and disconnected flesh, the elders’ charms were scrawled in blood on the floor." This one is a very good example. It shows why the symbols mean so much to the Hag in the first place and implies how they could've been manipulated by the Entity to create her ability in game.

Cannibal/Leatherface - Chainsaw: Watch the movie

Spirit - Yamaoka's Haunting: "The ground shook with her father's footsteps. She knew she was not going to make it, but she no longer cared. She would make him pay, in this life or the next.

A dark Fog slowly veiled her eyes, but it could not subdue her rage. She would not rest--not yet. The darkness whispered, promising blood and revenge.

An oath was made and Rin closed her eyes." There's room for interpretation but it implies that she cannot see when the dark fog takes her, similar to how she can't see survivors when she uses her ability.

Demogorgon - Of The Abyss / Shred: Of the Abyss isn't 100% accurate to how the portals work in the show but they're allowed to take some creative interpretations. Shred is obvious.

Oni - Yamaoka's Wrath: There's a lot in the lore that references what he does in game, just to paraphrase: He ran around the land, killed fake samurais, crushed their heads with his kanabo, he was generally a very angry boy.

GhostFace - Night Shroud: Watch the movies

Plague - Vile Purge: Paraphrasing again, she was a priestess in a church well known for cleansing, she eventually got infected and tried to hide it using her veil and censer to hide her infection. She working attempting to give her followers blessed water and food and then it came out that she was giving them the plague. Lots of vomit, etc. etc. you get it.

Clown - The Afterpiece Tonic: Clown's knowledge of anesthetics is mentioned several times in his lore.

Pig - Jigsaw's Baptism: Watch the movies

Freddy - Dream Demon: In the films, Freddy can really only operate in people's dreams. That's how they did it originally, I'll commend them for committing to the lore but we all know how well that turned out. New Freddy takes more liberties but it's fine and understandable.

Doctor - Carter's Spark: His usage of electroshock therapy is mentioned as his technique of choice.

Michael Myers - Evil Within: Watch the movies, he's essentially a slow moving juggernaut. I believe he also introduced the obsession mechanic which really ties into the movies.

Legion - Feral Frenzy: One of them stabbed a guy once... and then he forced his gang to stab the same guy?

I understand a few of their abilities past Nurse can be loose interpretations of what they did as they were alive, but Legion is a massive stretch considering throughout the rest of the lore it mentions their unity, camaraderie, and experience bullying the people of their community. It's made very clear in the lore that they work best in a group, that that's where their strength came from. I really don't understand why they implemented a power that only lets they go one at a time, especially considering the lore basically only says that Frank was the guy calling the shots. I've said this plenty of times but legitimately if BHVR made Legion a person with multiple personality disorder it would fit so much better than what they actually did.

Not even their name makes sense to their power,

Legion: "a vast host, multitude, or number of people or things" "great in number."

And here we get a runny boy who goes around stabbing people.

you're saying having someone broken for 60s isn't a long time?

If you're healing vs Legion you're doing something wrong

  • @TheKingOfAll said:

The legion would be a 115% movement speed killer. Standing at medium height, with a 24 m terror radius, and would be a hard difficulty.

    Power- Pack Hunting

At the start of the game, the player spawns in as the legion, and 3 other legions are hidden in lockers. At any point, the player can go up to a locker and press the power button, and hop into the locker. The player then selects which legion they want to go to, and they hop out of the other legions locker. If a survivor opens a locker that a legion is in, all survivors are able to see the aura of that legion for 10 seconds, and the legion player gets a noise notification.

The time it takes a legion to hop into a locker is the same speed it takes a survivor to quick enter a locker and when leaving a locker they have the option to fast exit, where the survivors can hear the locker open and the heartbeat, or slow open, where the locker is very quiet, and in addion, when opening the locker slowly, they get undetectable for a short period (3-5 seconds). The quick exit would be the same speed a survivor can quick exit a locker and the slow exit would be the same speed a survivor can slowly exit.

This would allow both uses for stealth and sneaking up on an unsuspecting survivor, and use in chase, as quick exiting while a survivor is nearby would allow for an easy hit.

I think this would be really fun and would also make it so you could set it up so you can completely corner a survivor while not breaking the game.

The legions add-ons could affect the speed getting in and out of lockers, the length of the stealth when getting out, and maybe their ultra rare could put a survivor into the injured state if they open a locker a legion is in.

I throughoutly enjoy the concept, I think it's a really cool and creative idea that takes Legion lore into account which I think is important because idk about you but I honestly thought Legion was just someone with multiple personality disorder until I actually spent time and sought out the lore. Right now though I don't like the idea of leaving the 3 other Legion placements to RNG. Maybe there could be something where the Legion player could setup the other Legions to hide out at

  • @arslaN said:

Bringing back old legion isn't the solution. Feral frenzy decreasing DW timer makes them uncounterable but still weak.

Legion just needs an entire rework.

Deep Wounds is honestly a bad mechanic and it should not be tied to a killer, take this from a Legion main himself; I do not want buffs to Legion, I want a complete rework.

We respond to as much as we can, but we aren't watching only the forums around the clock. Odds are if a post is disrespectful or outright insulting, it's not going to get a response. There's a fine line between constructive criticism and insults, and the latter is not how you have a conversation with another person.

As far as the basic attack change goes, it's the same as the Pig. It's to create consistency between powers so it's easier to understand what a basic attack is and what works with it. Previously, it was a bit of a mess. Something like Sloppy Butcher would work, but NOED would not. Both activated on basic attacks, but both were treated differently with Feral Frenzy. Not only is this less confusing for someone new to the game, but it also makes it much easier for us to balance.

As for mending, previously it was too easy to get stuck in an endless loop of mending (with mending times of up to 20 seconds). This left people mending most of the time which isn't exactly thrilling gameplay. There's no interaction between the killer and survivor there.

The movement speed, vault speed, and pin changes were all common requests.

Regardless, the changes have only been out for a little over a day at this point, so we'd like to see what kind of effect they have before making knee jerk reactions.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/890425#Comment_890425

We've also commented on similar threads about that exact same thing- it's not coming back because people use it to dodge lobbies. It was never intended to come back.

I'm sorry but this statement really begs the question of whether or not you guys play your own game. I'm really trying not to be disrespectful but it doesn't take a genius to figure out that Legion's ability, Feral Frenzy is one of the worst in the game in terms of performance and design. Right now, especially with the mending changes it has almost zero impact whatsoever. The buffs to it's movement speed and vaulting speed are nice for positioning, but they do not fix the overall problem that Feral Frenzy is an extremely low impact ability.

Knowing this, it doesn't make sense why you guys would nerf Legion, (I understand the basic attack change was for consistency but it is a nerf regardless) when they are already arguably the worst killer in the game. I'd rather you guys honestly do nothing to them like Leatherface than make honestly pointless changes for the sake of changing them, because what you guys are doing now is not addressing the problem.

The problem is that Feral Frenzy is a poorly designed ability. When it's powerful it creates a horrible, unfun experience for survivor players with almost zero counterplay, when it's weak, which it is right now, it has almost no impact on the game and is basically just a nuisance to survivors that they have to deal with. Neither scenario is enjoyed by ANY side of the game.

I literally created this account on the forums just because I could not believe that people were happy with where Legion is right now and I was correct, Legion is in an awful spot and they're only sinking further and further into the hole.

    JUST REWORK LEGION

  • Collision change isn't that big of a change, good Spirit players aren't using collisions to find people they're sound whoring and using scratches to find survivors. Only players affected by this change are bad killer players.

Same goes for the vault change, doesn't affect good Spirit players because they rarely even used them.

The addon changes are okay enough, only thing that's really relevant are the prayer beads which are purple addons anyway so you shouldn't be seeing them a lot in general.

Overall these changes make Spirit harder for bad killers but good Spirit mains are just going to have business as usual
