They moved him from S tier to maybe S- Tier.
People are still going to play him, the nerfs do not solve what make him powerful, they just make him slightly less so.

lol ds wasn't nerfed. it's functionality is the same as the pre change. they just nerfed the ABUSIBILITY of it. lol though they did buff a few killer things but nothing as big as they buffed survivors.... though i disagree with the change of small game to no longer ping killer traps!
ds wasn't nerfed....
one sentence later
they just nerfed...
They didn't nerf it, they just nerfed one aspect of it. So it's not a nerf :/

Is this a good combo? I know self care is hated because it takes twice as long but... You can heal yourself theoretical infinite times. Also with resilience it's a bit faster and you can 99% all the time to have the 9% speed boost.
You can theoretically heal an infinite amount of times, or you can just work on a generator and leave the trial 1 time.

Since the DS nerf I have not seen one killer respect the perk. I'd say a majority of killers I've gone against at red ranks either camp the hook or they walk away for a bit until a hook save and go right back and tunnel the same survivor, down said survivor, and then immediately pick that survivor up and hook again. Why? Because no survivor is running DS in the state it's in. Then what happens is they give up on struggle hook, especially in solo que. Now, I like to use different builds and most games I don't us DS. If there's a couple of games where I'm getting tunneled I'll throw it on. The DS nerf has led me to hide and wait for the killer to rotate until he finds a survivor because I'm decent at looping but I'm not the best by any means. If I go down I know what will happen...camp or tunneling. Just my thoughts
So you're saying that because DS got nerfed, less people are running it and more killers are putting themselves in a position where running decisive strike would be useful?
Just run Decisive Strike then. I fail to see the problem with this situation.

NOED, BBQ, Hex: Ruin, need I go on.
Yes you do actually because you've yet to make a point.
How to beat Ruin: Hold down M1
How to beat NOED: When it activates you already won, break the totem if you hate it that much
How to beat BBQ: You don't need to beat it, it's not oppressive. If you seriously hate BBQ THAT MUCH, just hide in a locker when someone gets hooked. Problem solved.
How to beat DS (prenerf): Wait a full minute before picking them up. There's no counter play. If they have unbreakable you lose.

Yes, we get it. Your first three games playing him didn't exactly go well. We understand he's in need of some buffs. It's obvious he's not nurse of Freddy levels of good. The problem is, you're all playing him expecting to do good without actually working out all his kinks. Stop expecting 4ks and start learning from your games instead of complaining on the internet. I've already run into some tricksters who absolutely decimated me and my teams. It can be done. Just give it some time.

This just facts. So many survivors were carried by DS and now they're getting exposed. The only people complaining about the DS nerf are these bad survivors.

You play him like you would play Demogorgon, completely ignore your useless powers and just M1 people. Except your killer is worse because instead of 115% movement speed you have 110%

I love how absolutely alien of a concept it is to you to want to chat with nice people without the arseholes berating and insulting you.
It's not, I even said it in my original comment. I get why it's on by default and I get why people would want something like this on in this first place.
What I do not understand is why there's no option to turn it off. If people want to flame they're going to find ways to do it regardless of if there is a filter or not. I don't care what people say to me one way or the other, if I want to indulge in people's salt or whatever other reason a word might be censored, I should have the option to turn the filter off. I fail to see how this is a complex thing to want.
Even then though, I played a game against a Trickster and they wrote, "This killer #####" They then explained they meant to write "Sucks". They didn't swear, they weren't even being toxic yet they were censored. The devs said they would be adjusting the filter to work better, but I say if I don't care what people say, why can't I just turn it off outright.
Make a message pop up or something saying something like "The EULA cannot rate unfiltered chat, blah blah, 'are you sure you would like to disable this'" Problem solved. BHVR's hands are clean and we get what we want.

If I call something a "thingy" and point at a chair, I'm sure everyone can figure out im talking about the chair, that however does not make it correct.
Pretty odd how strongly you react to getting pointed towards (slight) mistakes in your phrasing, makes me feel it might not be a good thing at all to have the chat be revealed to you tbh....
second time you contradicted yourself:
"Just let us turn it off. People barely know that games even have a settings menu to begin with so only the people who want it off will even bother to look for it. I fail to see how this wasn't implemented in the first place."
>Let us turn it off
>people barely know that games even have a settings menut to begin with
makes a lot of sense to add a feature already just for those who want to turn it off and then reduce that size even further to the (by your own statement) very tiny portion that knows about settings and can be bothered to turn it off.
And the reason it wasnt implemented is pretty obviously because BHVR does not want any childish swearing in their game, thats it, does not matter if you want to use or hear/read it, they dont want it in their game.

I'm trying to express my frustration with a mechanic that was added to the game that I did not ask for and do not have the ability to disable. Instead of offering anything meaningful to the discussion, you decided to play semantics with me. You are not smart, you are not being helpful, you're just being an a$$. If you want to act like an annoying know-it-all, I'm going to treat you like one, simple as that.

What are you even saying here? Legit I read through this at least 3 or 4 times and I still don't understand the point of this. Even worse, despite the fact that you call it one, this isn't remotely close to a contradiction. I swear it's like you just finished playing Phoenix Wright and now you want to use "contradiction" everywhere you go.
Had I not looked at your previous comment history I'd say you were trolling simply because I can't believe someone can miss the mark this badly yet still keep going as if they're winning the argument.
If I had to guess, you're probably someone of moderately above average intelligence who gets their kicks picking fights on forums to try and flex your "big brain". Only problem is you're a big fish in a small pond and punched above your weight class and now you've picked a fight you can't win. You're so far off your rocker yet your own ego won't let you admit that you messed up and just drop the discussion. You're a clown, simple as that. Nobody is on your side on this one yet you'll still act like you're correct.
I think that's the worst part about all of this. There are even other people joining in trying to correct you because you clearly have no reading comprehension yet here you are still trying to gaslight them into thinking anything other than the most obvious answer, the answer I legit told you was correct and what I intended.
Try going to DbD's steam discussions, there are plenty of dumb people there for you to pick fights with because honestly you've flat out lost any credibility you may have had coming into this forum. You're a joke.

So you do care then... you care about readability of the actual words and intend of the message
Then say that instead
Realise that that is just one instance of you contradicting yourself
I never contradicted myself.
Just because you can't read and want to play "Professor Semantics" doesn't mean I contradicted myself.
You want to act smart, yet instead of reading the context of my sentences you decide to pick individual phrases out and try to prove a point that does not exist. The goal of a chat filter is to block "undesirable" text and phrases from appearing in the chat. I, "do not care" for this, and would like it to be removed so I can see what people say in chat, good or bad, should I desire to. Did I make it simple enough for you?
I'm pretty sure most elementary school children could've figured that out. Why couldn't you?

Whether or not you used DS before, the fact someone in your team was carrying it put some pressure on the killer, with the idea that maybe someone had it slotted. Now, with the perk being completely pointless and useless, there's nothing standing in the way especially for higher tier killers. You will get tunneled out of the game within 1 minute of the match. I'm already seeing it happen.
Four matches in a row, 2 Tricksters, 1 Spirit and 1 Nurse, somebody was tunneled out of the game with 5-4 generators left.
And no, Borrowed Time doesn't fix this. Having to rely on other people carrying a perk just so you can play the game, when people literally farmed each other without anything even when the DS anihilation hadn't gone through, that's not going to help in the slightest.
So, the question is now, what are you going to do to allow people to play the game?
There's nothing that prevents tunneling off of the hook.
Except Decisive Strike, the perk literally designed to prevent tunneling off of the hook.

Like I said, all you have to do against Clown is pre-throw the pallet and he gets nothing. The trickster can still piece together hits in a chase and over a pallet.
Clown is way better than this trash can of a killer.
At least clown gets the pallet early. Trickster gets looped for 3 years while they try to build up laceration and then they either get the pallet thrown if the survivor is injured or the survivor gets injured and then runs away because Trickster has to build it up again to finally down the survivor

I'm not saying that they should be removed. I'm saying that survivors rely way, way, way too much on them, seemingly need to have an indicator of the killer's location that requires no skill or effort put in.
I would be fine if they removed the bloodstains and scratchmarks, because killers wouldn't have to rely on them if survivors couldn't detect them from a mile away.
If they made killers actually intimidating then maybe I would be okay with it. They could probably just put survivors into first person to do it.
There shouldn't be perks to counter entire powers. At all. Period.
I've studied game design and the horror genre for at least five years and counting. The only kind of fear (which there are multiple kinds) this game can illicit is "Horror." Horror is a mixture of shock and possibly disgust. Cheap. Easy. Becomes boring and predictable fast. Think of jumpscares.
The strongest kinds of fear are terror and dread.
Terror is fear about what you don't know. Fear of the thing you heard lurking outside. Think of Alien, or FNAF before everyone knew just about everything about the game.
Dread is fear about what you do know, and is going to happen, but hasn't happened yet. Fear of the thing about to look under the table and gut you alive. Think of A Silent Place, or the Weeping Angels from Doctor Who.
Neither of these are possible if you both know the full capabilities of the monster and have the means to counter them perfectly.
Stealth killers could of been actually scary. Scary in the sense that you know that they're there, but not when they'll get you. Hell, if you removed the Terror Radius and red stain, the game could be almost as good as the trailers. Imagine a game of cat and mouse instead of ring-around-the-rosy.
Think of the Stalkers from Subnautica. You could fight them, unlike most hostile creatures, but they were still scary because you didn't know where they where at any given moment.
Think of the RE2 remake. You always had an idea of where Mr. X was whenever he was a threat, but he was still scary because you couldn't stop him in any way.
Both of these are good horror and good game design. I could easily put terror or dread into a 4v1 game. It's been done before.
But no. If anything, the killer should be stressed to hell because they can't stop the survivors. The survivors should feel little to no connection to the game itself, and should have a quick, easy task and the ability to counter or stop anything the killer. Immersion? What's that?
I've studied game design... for at least five years and counting.
Lmao no you didn't. How can you have studied game design for 5 years and still complain about counterplay while refusing to adapt

It isn't very hard. But there is little to no reason for me to have to.
Since you seem to be deliberately ignoring my primary argument, allow me to make it more visible, as, judging by the nature of my argument and your sheer inability to respond to the actual point, you seem to be unable to see.
THERE ARE VERY FEW OTHER GAMES, INCLUDING IN THIS GENRE (4V1 HORROR), THAT BROADCAST THE LOCATION OF THE POWER ROLE TO THE TEAM. THE REASON IS SIMPLE: THEY DO NOT NEED IT.
IN THE EVENT THAT THE POWER ROLE UTILIZES STEALTH, THE TEAM SHOULD HAVE TO LOOK AROUND FOR THEM, AS OPPOSED TO HEAVILY RELYING ON OBVIOUS, BLATANT AUDIO AND VISUAL CUES THAT HAVE LITTLE TO NO REASON TO BE IN THE GAME.
FURTHERMORE, IF THE POWER ROLE IS SACRIFICING THE ABILITIES THAT COULD BE AVAILABLE TO THEM IF THEY CHOSE A DIFFERENT ABILITY, THUS CREATING AN OPPORTUNITY COST, THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO USE THAT ABILITY, WITH THE CAVEATS THAT ARE ENTAILED WITH CHOOSING SUCH AN ABILITY.
IF THE POWER ROLE HAS AN ABILITY THAT CAN BE CHEAPLY AND EASILY COUNTERED BY AN OPTIONAL ABILITY ON THE TEAM, ESPECIALLY ONE THAT GIVES OTHER BENEFITS, THEN BALANCE IS IMPOSSIBLE BY NATURE. IT IS SHEER INSANITY TO THINK THAT IT IS FINE TO CRIPPLE THE BENEFITS OF AN ABILITY THATS SOLE PURPOSE IS TO REMOVE AN UNUSUALLY STRONG ADVANTAGE WHILE KEEPING THE DISADVANTEGES OF SAID ABILITY, AND IN THIS FORM, IT SHOWS EXTREME FAVORITISM TOWARDS THE TEAM ROLE.
Also, Ruin+Undying exists because the Survivors have a much easier, faster, and simpler task to complete. Giving them an additional task, forcing them to focus on their task, or slowing down the current task, even when combined, is not entirely unreasonable.
The fact that you made such a comparison shows just how little you understood my argument. You essentially have an extremely powerful variant of Whispers in your basekit, along with the ability to see where the killer is looking.
I honestly don't think that the Red Stain and Terror Radius should exist. The fact that you think that you are entitled to them, or other abilities that give such a strong advantage, is a result of how poorly designed game this is. This was meant to be a horror game, if you remember.
Oh don't worry, I was ignoring your primary argument originally not because I can't make a point against it but because it was just garbage and I didn't feel the need to address it. Did you want me to go piece by piece and rip it apart? Because I can gladly do that. First of all:
It isn't very hard. But there is little to no reason for me to have to.
Considering you literally wrote and made in bold a huge portion of your "argument" trying to explain why Spine Chill is a bad perk, it seems there is a big reason for you to have to do so because it clearly impacts your gameplay.
THERE ARE VERY FEW OTHER GAMES, INCLUDING IN THIS GENRE (4V1 HORROR), THAT BROADCAST THE LOCATION OF THE POWER ROLE TO THE TEAM. THE REASON IS SIMPLE: THEY DO NOT NEED IT.
Okay? Would you like to list some of these games? Because if we look at the "More Like This" section of Dead by Daylight's steam page your argument falls apart extremely quickly.
Even if we go into the top sellers of Horror on steam, you have absolutely nothing to support your argument. The fact of the matter is in the horror genre that Dead by Daylight encompasses stands atop the totem pole and more or less is alone in that nature. Unless you wanted to use something like Friday the 13th, a game which broadcast the power role location to you.
Fact of the matter is, DbD is more or less the only game of it's kind that hasn't failed for one reason or another. To say that other games do successfully what DbD can't isn't a strong argument to make considering most of those games are struggling to survive as communities.
Has it ever crossed your mind that maybe a killer's Terror Radius is a weakness? And that getting rid of it is a little strong?
Wouldn't you then agree that killers who's whole powerset involves getting rid of a major weakness of the entire class would have an advantage of sorts over the competition?
If you then have the advantage over everybody else because people can't tell where you're coming from, what is so wrong with survivors equipping an optional perk to MAYBE have a leg up against those killers.
You seem to forget that this is a multiplayer game. Not sure if you knew this, but the world does not revolve around the role you decide to play as. There are other people who are also playing this game alongside with you. You are trying to kill them of course, but they deserve an equal chance as you do.
They're not though. I mean I've explained this several times. Just look away when you're approaching a gen if you really don't like Spine Chill. You are not sacrificing any abilities. You are willingly not adapting to the game that is presented to you and would rather complain.
Doesn't matter if you put it in bold or leave it plain, it is the same argument I've stepped all over time and time again.
IF THE POWER ROLE HAS AN ABILITY THAT CAN BE CHEAPLY AND EASILY COUNTERED BY AN OPTIONAL ABILITY ON THE TEAM, ESPECIALLY ONE THAT GIVES OTHER BENEFITS, THEN BALANCE IS IMPOSSIBLE BY NATURE.
This is just wrong, see my response to the previous line you wrote.
But it's not insanity to completely ignore all arguments opposing yours and continue to say the same disproven thing over and over again expecting something to change? Didn't Farcry 3 say something about this? Oh well...
Anyway your abilities are not crippled, just look away until you need to stalk or whatever. Loads of stealth killers have no problem doing this, not sure why it's an impossibility for you to. Spine Chill is there for counterplay, so you therefore have to counterplay the counterplay.
This was meant to be a horror game, if you remember.
No I'm pretty sure this is meant to be a multiplayer game as much as it is a horror game. That's probably why you can choose which role you get assigned. That's probably why you can bring perks and items into the game to help you.
It's almost as if the survivors have the ability to prepare a loadout beforehand to potentially counter whatever they may face in the realm. It's almost as if this was done on purpose.
Stealth killers complaining about Spine Chill is like Spirit players complaining about Iron Will. Boo Hoo, you actually have to try when you play the game :(
If you don't like the fact that the other team should be allowed to have an equal chance of succeeding than you do then I'm afraid this isn't the game for you. Either that or you should just switch to a different killer.
While I do believe survivors are extremely overpowered, the ability to equip Spine Chill or even Iron Will to counter killers is very far down the totem pole of problems the side has.

Survivor perks aren't as important as killer perks. Killer perks, in general, can alter an entire trials course easily. Survivor perks effect mostly just that one survivor. If they're expendable enough to use them all on second chances instead of any actual abilities, they're not that valuable.
As I've said numerous times before, and you have repeatedly failed to acknowledge, the Terror Radius and Red Stain don't need to exist. They have no purpose other than to preemptively alert survivors to the killer's location. The fact that you demand a way to detect an ambush predator before they can detect you is.... problematic from a game design standpoint alone.
Most other 4v1 games don't implement a mechanic like this, mainly because, given that they're supposed to be horror, they would rather the team have to look around (suspensefully) for tension instead of semi-uncomfortable noises broadcasting the power role's position and a red spotlight telling you which way they're facing.
On Whispers, it literally just tells you if there are survivors in a certain distance from you or not. It's the only perk in the game (as far as I know) that should have the ability to be downgraded. As you upgrade it, it becomes less and less precise. It doesn't tell you anything other than a rough distance. There could be a four man SWF, all with flashlights, right behind you or a single survivor 40 meters away behind a building and it would give the exact same information: "There is a survivor in x meters of you."
All this does is cut down the time needed to find hiding survivors, which you usually would find anyway, and sightly reduce the time of patrolling gens.
As for the counter... that's not a counter. There are so many ways to know if a killer is coming that your suggestion is basically instantly putting yourself at disadvantage if the survivor has any other ways to detect you (IE, any way that a reasonable game would have you detect them, such as sight, situational awareness and hearing, the first of which survivors already have an advantage at because of the third person view) on the vague inclination that they have a specific perk.
That's so insane it almost makes my suggestion of "play the game like the other team has stealth capabilities" seem, Entity forbid, reasonable.
You also still fail to mention that almost every stealth killer has a power that either is the undetectable buff, or relies heavily on it. I would say the only killer that has any powerful stealth capability is the Wraith, because he can actually go invisible. Ghostface is virtually totally countered by the perk, given that both of his main abilities are countered by this one perk.

Are you serious? "You're being lazy and don't want to adjust your play?" Using one tier one perk tho? which usually is rancor or haunted ground just because that’s all i got. I’ve used many different killers i used Oni for the first time the other day and got a 3k with one perk that didn’t really help me at all. If i actually put bp and mained killer i would be very op. Because killers are already op so imagine me with add ons and 4 tier 3 perks....lol
Why are you focused on the tier of the perks and not the overall strength of the killer? Putting Ruin + Undying on a low tier killer like Legion isn't going to suddenly make them top tier.
Spirit is good no matter what.

That is again ignoring the perk and it's use. The issue is how much information a survivor gains versus killers with stealth mechanics built into their kit. It doesn't matter what rank you play, because the perk is in the game and counters those killers.
Just look away when approaching a generator. You already know where they are. Why do you need to be staring directly at them to approach especially if you know they have Spine Chill.
It just sounds like you're being lazy and don't want to adjust your play

The disrespect is unnecessary you can say your point without insults that really ain’t hurting nobody. Guessing you’re a killer main i’m just pointing out what survivor mains really think. Don’t nobody use fixated unless they’re sole build is to counter spirit. I get that y’all feel decisive, unbreakable, and soul guard is op? they really aren’t and deliverance ain’t all that good either. Decisive is gettin nerfed so bad there’s really no point in using it.I’ve won plenty games for my teammates using a flashlight wasting time and getting saves. The nerf is the movement it is horrible and killers are still the same same perks same add ons like one shot hatchets, camping hags, ridiculous myers add ons, ghost face add ons where he can expose you in 2.5 seconds and you’re staring literally at him for 10 seconds with no reveal like honestly what do we have? ######### movement, pallets, unsafe vaults and nerfed perks? i guess man. I’m just sharing my opinion you can share yours respectfully as well
I get that y’all feel decisive, unbreakable, and soul guard is op? they really aren’t and deliverance ain’t all that good either
I'm rank 1 survivor. I literally run all of these perks together and I'm unkillable. I have no reason to fear the killer and I can legit run up to a hooked survivor, unhook them, get hooked, unhook myself and the Killer can't do anything about it.
You don't know pain unless you've gone against 4 survivors all running this, or a variation of this build. I'm sorry but your opinion is just invalid if you seriously think that's not a problem build.
Obviously this is an extreme case, but so is running into Huntress's with One shot Hatchets, Instant exposes on Ghostface, among the other cases you mentioned. Only difference is, people casually run DS just as one of their options meanwhile people rarely run One Shot Hatchets.
I’m just sharing my opinion you can share yours respectfully as well
Nobody has a problem with you sharing your opinion. Where the problems start is when your opinions come from misinformation and just overall bad takes.
Fact of the matter is you're extremely biased and make no attempt to see the other side or even try to hide it

Edit: Sorry, I was angry writing at the time I wrote this. I had just played Wraith, Pig and Ghostface consecutively and three survivors had Spine Chill in each match.
Edit 2: I left comments down in the comments section that you scroll by when you comment on this post. Please read them before you respond, as to get a better idea of what I meant and why.
What rank are you playing at where so many people are running Spine Chill to the point where Stealth Killers are unviable because it sure as hell isn't Green -> Red

Survivors literally got 0 nerfs this patch. What are you complaining about? In fact the only nerf was for killers and even then not by much.
Ever since i’ve played this your “team” devs or whatever continue to nerf our movement, perks and everything
Well. Fixated, a movement perk, just got buffed. So uh... your argument doesn't really hold up bud.
The only items that are worth using are flashlights
Flashlights were never good my dude. They're an absolute waste of time other than the fringe situation a killer lets you blind them while they're carrying a survivor.
I don’t know what’s the point but decisive has been nerfed countless times but noed has just been chilling
Decisive is an oppressive perk that can impact the game even if nobody is running it. If there is a single obsession in the game, Killers always have to look out for Decisive on ALL survivors even if none of them are actually running it.
Moreover, if they're running the small pp build, "DS + Unbreakable" Survivors will literally just run to a generator after being unhooked and not care if they get downed or not. If they get picked up it's DS, if they get left on the floor, it's Unbreakable. It gets even worse if they're also running Soul Guard and Deliverance, they become a 1 man army.
Meanwhile NOED is a crutch perk for scrubs that requires the game to already be lost for it to even play a factor. At red ranks you barely even see it, it's such a bad perk. NOED is a feel bad perk and while I agree it should be changed as it's just anti-fun, it's not oppressive in the slightest.
Really done with this game unless a fix comes because this movement is horrible.Really done with this game unless a fix comes because this movement is horrible.
Kk, Bye. We'll see you in a few days when your babyrage calms down.

Oni are literally a slug machine, and it has no counter once he powered up.
A nerf i would suggest blood orbs should have a limited time: this should allow for oni to absorb blood orbs as soon as it is available.
Oni Mains are not afraid of missing hits because they literally get their powers everywhere.
Bad take, Oni doesn't need a nerf. Hell BHVR's buggy releases nerf Oni just fine on their own

How is Yui's defaults bugged?
Default and Prestige Torsos clip into her body when playing the game, like this is a consistent thing you can do just by repairing a generator or doing almost anything else, it's ridiculous
-
The devs have 100+ known bugs and counting, there's no way they can fix all of them until the mid chapter update, hell probably into next chapter and beyond. Yui's default cosmetics have been bugged for several chapters now with no hope of being fixed
-
Here’s some bugs with Yui cosmetics that have existed well before 4.4 since we’re at it.
-Yui’s Sakura 7, Pink Striped Jacket, and Road Rash Jacket (Defaults and Prestige Torso) clip into Yui’s character model when performing most actions
-Yui’s Patched Up (Hallowed Blight legs) does not connect properly to other skins, leaves a gap of empty air between legs and torso when running or interacting with objects
Honestly the fact that a character’s default cosmetic is bugged should be an embarrassment to Behaviour but it’s not even a surprise for us anymore.
-
Self Care, a literal waste of time only ran by selfish players who want to be one man army but aren't actually good at the game.
Change my mind

This secondary sale and log in bonuses are only here because we bullied them, they are trying to extend an olive branch here take it instead of getting angry and start asking for the whole tree.
Nah, they've been taking content out of the Halloween event for years now, for no reason. They have the code to do it, they have the ability to make it great and just flat out choose not to do it.
Hell, they have the code and the ability to add the Serum currency in the game, it was in the rift last year, but they just flat out refuse to do it. Why? What did they just yeet the code into the garbage bin once last year's event was done? It's literally copy paste, I highly doubt that the game has changed so much in the year that the events took place that literally placing serum currency in the rift would be impossible this year, but possible last year.
The answer is extremely simple, Greed. They wanted people to pay more and they did. Now because nearly everybody complained, they scaled back; extended the "Olive Branch" as you put it. They took 2 steps forward with the greed and took 1 step back due to backlash. Next year they'll take another 2 steps forward and so on and so forth.
You give greedy people an inch and they'll take a mile, we've seen this time and time again with other developers and we're seeing it now with BHVR before our eyes and suddenly people are okay with getting enough shards to buy ONE skin. We used to get TWO before!
What's going to happen next year? Next year we'll get more Halloween skins, no serum currency, and no discounted prices, hell why not just take the blighted gens and hooks out of the game altogether, they're the last remnants of the event that have yet to go. What are people going to say then? "Well last year we only got 1 skin, so I guess it's okay, at least we can use shards to buy them this year..."

Where you went wrong here is you simply didn't plan out your purchases properly. If you are on the forum you will have noticed a trend of people complaining about not enough free stuff and BHVR in kind responded with this new event. What you should have done is wait till the last day or two of the event where you buy whatever your heart contends to. by doing this you are playing with the skins you know for a little longer but you get the best return on your effort and currency. As far as the EULA goes its like going to any store in the U.S. They have the right to refuse service for any reason, period. Just because BHVR and Steam partner to put this game out to us it is ultimately BHVR's call as to refund you or not. I urge you to next time sit on your currency and watch what the community starts demanding. BHVR give us an awful lot of play and tries to appease even the most demanding of players. I hope you can understand what I am trying to get to you and I hope you take this lesson in stride for future purchases.
Of course they have the right to charge whatever they please for their own product, nobody is arguing that and I don't think anybody ever will.
What people are saying is that the people who supported BHVR are their greediest have now been scammed. They charged one price, people bought it, then are charging a significantly lower price 2 days later. That is a scam. They very well have the power to refund people's purchases but don't feel like it.
-
Title says it all.
While I certainly didn't fall for your greed, other people did. They supported you even when you were at your lowest point and now they're being punished for it.
This isn't even about ungrateful players anymore, this is about you literally screwing over your loyal fans

Prologue
I haven't played DBD in a while since I needed a break from it and another game has gotten my interest! Ever since I stopped playing, I kept in touch with the game's development and seen how it progressed!
After seeing some interesting updates, such as the graphics update and perk changes, I think it might be worth while to give this game a try and see where it goes!
Is there anything you'd recommend me doing first? Such as: "Hey, I'd recommend you getting Undying first because it pairs great with Ruin!" 😅
Don't

Spamming the same bad idea over and over again doesn't suddenly make it a good idea

Honestly it probably makes no difference. If you've ever run object you'll know a 72 meter range really only gets out of range on opposites sides of the map.
a 96 meter range? You'll have to be on the opposite sides of really big maps for that trigger. Like I think mother's dwelling and maybe ormond and yamaoka are the only maps where maybe it sometimes won't trigger. I think practically the perk is no different.
They also took away the constant noise notifications reminding you that survivors are on the gen, now its just only once.
Good players who ran Discordance used the noise notifications as information. You didn't have to look at the gen to know discordance was working or where the gen they're working on is at.

Oh great, another thing that needed a minor change getting a ton of them suddenly, while stuff that could do with a rework gets a few meters or seconds shifted if it gets any changes at all.
I like the devs, and balancing a game like DBD is probably confusing and complicated as all heck, but just why?
Why nerf stuff like Hangman's Trick, Franklin's Demise, and Discordance?
I genuinely don't see the need to.
I mean, on one hand I feel for the devs, balancing this game is most certainly hard.
But like... it's like they don't listen to the community at all. Ever since Discordance was released, people been saying to just flip the numbers around and fix the perk and they never listened. Such an easy fix and they never did it. Instead they completely change the perk when it's already not a popular perk to begin with.
The devs' problem isn't that DbD is a hard game to balance. The devs' problem is that they have no idea what they're doing and they refuse to listen to the community in regards to making changes

It was one of those perks that if you were doing well, you kept doing well. And if you weren't, didn't matter.
Or it works for finding survivors early in the game then never again because they wised up.
Never leveling it up was broken and no one should be surprised they eventually did something to it.
I would've been 100% okay with them just flipping Tier 1 and Tier 3's numbers and calling it a day. Tier 3 Discordance should've been the better perk and I wouldn't have minded spending the bloodpoints to fully upgrade it.
Problem is they didn't do that and they didn't even put it in the PTB for testing. As if that would've done anything anyway because Devs don't change anything from PTB to live except the most minor of changes

They somewhat hurt PH's ability to zone in exchange for a less punishing cooldown on POTD. The devs have stated it wasn't intended to be a nerf. I haven't played the updated version yet so I can't comment, but it's clear that the brief cooldown when coming out of Torment mode was necessary in order to prevent him from zoning. Doctor cannot zone so that's not really a good comparison.
They slightly nerfed Discordance; 96m is a massive distance, and will cover the entirety of pretty much every map unless you're in a corner. They also addressed killer complaints of Tier 3 being weaker than Tier 1, and of the loud notification spam being annoying. I don't think it's fair to ignore the QoL changes and only focus on the tiny nerf and try to say it's just hurting killer.
They buffed a number of perks for both sides in this update, but people are choosing to ignore this and complain about anti-killer bias, probably because the buffs weren't enough to make those perks meta. Let's keep in mind that none of the buffed survivor perks are going to be meta either. They're just buffing trash tier perks so that they're now usable, if only in niche builds. I think that's great.
I haven't played the new MacMillan maps yet, but you can't confidently say they're heavily survivor sided until killers and survivors both learn the maps.
It's interesting you're complaining about the Ruin update being so survivor sided when that was the same patch where they reworked and buffed Doctor. Ruin is also still strong enough to be meta, and it's much more balanced now because it rewards the killer for doing something instead of doing nothing. I think they did a great job with it.
The loud noise notification spam was the reason why you ran the perk dingus.

Thana is a better perk on Legion and Plague, the only killers that ran it anyway :/
Thana is now even worse of a perk to run for the killers that already didn't run it. Good job BHVR

Funny thing is that I was watching his stream and he played a similar game as Doctor on Haddonfield. All survivors were flashlight spamming or tbagging.
Not trying to say anything, but look at these builds:

I wouldn't say he's harder in terms of player skill ceiling, more like you have to work harder to get the same results as Nurse.
