This is exactly my experience as well. P400 squad, hardly any dodges.

It's probably tied to MMR in some capacity tbh, killers in high MMR see P100 much more often than newbies so they're less likely to dodge I think.

Also, more and more people have high prestige so it's not as scary anymore. I used to get dodged if someone had P20+ but now there's hardly any dodging unless there's people with P80+ in the lobby.

I would have said it's not that bad but the absolute lack of dodging when prestige was hidden made it more obvious now.

For me this is actually the truth. The Autoheaven maps are very difficult for me to see anything that is remotely "dark". I tried all in-game options and none worked.

I only use slight alterations like more contrast and 3% more brightness and only for this realm. If I don't and you play a killer/survivor in dark clothes I am physically unable to see you because of the weird green/black color palette of the map. Doesn't matter if you are Myers, GF, Pig, Slinger, Wesker, Hag or a Claudette. The only way I can see killers on this realm in certain areas is by their red light. The rest just blends in.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/396938/can-we-enforce-vanilla-gameplay

If you give me more options to accommodate for my ######### vision on Autoheaven (and Springwood in some cases) then yes (see above). But you can't just call all people cheaters just because they use their GPU drivers.

Sure there are extremes, especially in comp dbd, where I have seen some filters which just make everything greyed out except red, so they can scratches/red stain better. Or the ultra saturated bright ones.

Also modern monitors come with similar filters and you can't just deny people to use certain monitors.

    Exactly all of that!

Tired of seeing people claim "they say it's for accessibility but their game barely has shadows", like obviously the game is going to look too bright to people with good vision. If there was no difference then the filter would be of no help whatsoever.

  • Stranger Things - Vecna & Robin, Joyce, Hopper, Eddie (pick two as legendaries)

    It - Pennywise

The Shining - Jack & Wendy Torrance

Misery - Annie Wilkes & Paul Sheldon (although Annie on her own would be enough I think)

I could list a bunch of other Stephen King books but I don't think any of his works are coming to the game tbh

    Trick R' Treat - Sam

  • I think BHVR allows them because of their lack of accessibility options (and maybe it's too difficult/ expensive to implement, idk anything about these kind of things). I tried a filter for a couple days to compensate for my peculiar vision issues and it was night & day.

(Then I chickened out and uninstalled it because I was scared I'd get banned if BHVR changed their mind about it lol)

There's surely many people who use them for an advantage but there's also a bunch who use it for accessibility or just to make their game look nice. Cheaters will find an other way to gain an advantage, monitors with built-in filters and options are common nowadays anyway so it's not like BHVR could get rid of them all if they wanted to.

They did say they would increase the chances of it appearing. Sorry I can't remember where - it might have been on social media. It's probably back on normal rotation now.

I've only got it a couple of times too, so I also want it to appear more. Except when I play Dredge as I discovered the hard way that there is a dearth of lockers.

I must have missed it then, and I was excited to try Dredge on it so nevermind I guess 😅

  • Besides content creators there aren't that many people playing the PTB long enough to learn how to play as or against new perks / killers. Killer queues are very long, there's no SBMM or DC penalty so it's not uncommon to not get any "real" game.

Not to mention it's only available for steam players and you can't go back and forth between live & PTB without downloading it every time

Shortening the time would mean devs don't have as much time to fix the bugs or very obvious balance problems

The amount of eruption/cob survivor players had to endure along with the merciless storm abusers/apologists cleared my mind over that one. I'll play however I want, period.

Yeah, I honestly see a lot more killers with this type of "selfishness" than survivors, there absolutely are a bunch of entitled survivors but everyone makes fun of them while "bully squad" and "survivor rulebook" are used so often it seems like lots of people agree killers can do what they want but survivors having fun is toxic. (Not to mention the Venn diagram of people using both those expressions is basically a circle)

I just don't like hypocrites. I don't do / use things I don't want to play against. That's why I have never used MFT.

Issue is survivors using those perks tend to cry the most when it doesn't go their way.

Same, I don't enjoy playing when I know my opponent(s) are definitely not having a good time. but yeah it's not just a survivor thing, there's a number of proud "your fun isn't my problem and I do what I want" killers who call survivors bullies because they play in a way they don't like

Totally agree though, nothing more annoying than people holding the other side to weird "play nice" standards while not applying any of those to themselves.

Not really for killer tho, but I highly doubt you care about that part.

I play nice and appreciate going against people who do the same, but honestly it's not the killer's job to make the game fun for survivors and the killer's fun isn't the survivors' problem either.

According to DBDinfo (I'm not sure how reliable they are for map statistics but it's the only data I could find), Hawkins has a 15.9% Map Draw chance. That's about 5 times as likely as any other map in the game.

Unless I missed something BHVR didn't say anything about making it more likely to go to Hawkins, which they have always done so far.

As for my personal experience I've only got it once since it came back. I never heard about DBDinfo so idk how it works or if they count ppl using offerings for example.

But maybe I'm just unlucky lol, I actually want the map.

  • There's no higher chance of going there

  • @Mondhirsch said:

I play both sides nearly 50/50 so I have no clue what you are talking about.

How does it make your Killer experience worse when you play against 4 Survivors who haven't played against THIS EXACT KILLERS previous match? It could even make Killer experience better/easier since the Survivors won't be trained to play against that exact Killer that often.

Say you're playing Blight, a bunch of people have already gone against him, so there's less people to match you with.

To prevent long matchmaking the game widens MMR restrictions, basically it prioritizes speed over quality, so your matchmaking will be a bit longer and much worst.

  • There is already a decreased chance to get the same map twice in a row, so why don't we just do that for Killers too?

Maps aren't people playing the game and there's the same chance of getting each one, while killers aren't played at the same frequency at all so the system wouldn't work.

Not having the same killer twice in a row would mean possibly 4 killers banned per lobby, it would lead to longer queues for everyone, especially killers who happen to play popular killers, or the killer featuring in the current tome for example.

  • Chucky seems both strong and fun, on top of that people who avoid killer because of the 1st person POV might enjoy him as well. He's definitely going to be a popular killer.

  • Adrenaline - the perk is a dead slot the entire game, activates once and you need to complete your objective to get value. If the effet was weaker than it is now it would be absolutely worthless.

As for my opinion, not in order of importance

    1) NOED - Pretty much the opposite of adrenaline. A perk that activates because your opponents finished their objective (aka you're losing) shouldn't be this strong

    2) The fact that solos can't see their teammates loadouts when swf can just tell eachother. Maybe unfair is not the right feeling but it's certainly annoying

    3) Survivor noises not being equal. It's a pain that some survivors are harder to play as or against because BHVR lied when they said they would equalize their sounds

    Even better:

    SoloQ: Normal game

    2 SWF: You can't.

    3 SWF: You can't.

    4 SWF: You can't.

Yes! You can't play an online game with your friends! Period!

:o I can't believe no one thought of this earlier

  • Even better:

    SoloQ: Normal game

2 SWF: Start with one hook state

3 SWF: Start with two hook states

4 SWF: Start with two hook states but three survivors are already on hook

  • @Kubui said:

Well, lets change that. If u are playing on a 3 PPL premade the change applies. Btw, if ur playing on a 2 man SWF. You dont need a buff on self care. they can heal themselves bc they got COMMS. Which SOLOQ players DONT have.

For every 3ppl swf you punish you're also punishing a random solo who didn't do nothing, so no still not a good idea.

Also, good players who run self-care don't use it every time they're injured but only when they need to, aka they need to reset but their teammates can't heal them, if it was as simple as "they can heal themselves bc they got COMMS" why on earth would swf use self-care to begin with ?

Finally, not every swf uses comms, a bunch of swfs are just solos who friended people they played with so they can join their lobby and avoid playing with potatoes.

  • Solutions like these don't work because lobbies aren't either 4swf or 4 solos, 4swf is actually the rarest thing you'll encounter, so the large majority of the time there's at least 1 solo in the lobby.

For example in the scenario of a lobby with 2 friends and 2 solos, the two solos would also suffer from the self-care penalty their teammates have, because it's a team game after all, so they'd have to deal with teammates self-caring in a corner for longer than they would with a full solo lobby although nothing about their own situation has changed.

Furthermore there's the whole subject about whereas 2swf deserve to be treated like 4swf and if people should be penalised for playing with their friends at all.

  • I almost always let at least one survivor go and have played for years without getting into trouble. Even if some people report you I don't think BHVR cares about this kind of things.

Reports for working with the killer probably exist to stop survivors from sandbagging their teammates without consequences. I'm not sure it matters for the killer side.

  • Sure let's nerf perks because bugs get fixed, every excuse is good...

  • Bots are great for PTB and custom games, but that's the extent of it.

As killer they're annoying to face because you literally can't mindgame them and they hold W the second they hear the TR.

As survivor they're also a pain because they keep missing skillchecks and bringing the killer to you. They also don't unhook or pick up down teammates because they're too scared of the TR and will not come anywhere close to it.

  • I think a nice thing for ND and new players would be to show what the effects in play mean when you go on the screen that shows players names & ping + offerings.

As a new player I actually tried to check them that way to no avail, so I always thought it would be a good addition.

Pretty sure Kindred has been bugged for a year and a half now... beginning to suspect it's probably not a bug

Just checked the bug reports and one of them says "the black bubble overrides auras by design", so it seems BHVR shadow nerfed kindred and bitter murmur once upon a time and lots of people still believe it's a bug (including me until two minutes ago)

If it was something like comparable to Sadako, then the difference would surely be a trade-off, but Trapper default is still a tall killer, and even if not as tall as Nemesis, usually that bit of a difference doesn't matter.

It starts to matter when you really are as short as Freddy, then it matters A LOT.

I mean sure, but I'm talking about people saying you can see him above walls where you can't normally see Trapper, which would make a difference if that's true.

i believe Kindred is bug but Jolt has been left like this for months, if it's a bug, it doesn't make sense that it hasn't been fixed until now

Both kindred and jolt are bugged, but they've been both bugged long enough we shouldn't expect them to be fixed ever lol.

  • I haven't seen him in game yet but isn't Naughty Bear much bigger than trapper ?

I've seen people say you can see him above walls, less noise but more visible sounds like a fair trade off to me (but again I haven't faced him yet so I don't really know the extent of things)

  • Media outlets spoiling the chapter before the official reveal once again, feels bad for BHVR

  • The true downside of ST coming back: we have to say goodbye to this hot mystery icon guy

Why would it be a balancing problem then? If it doesn't help much and a gap between solo and swf still exists then that would need to be taken into consideration when balancing... So where exactly is the problem there?

If solos had the same tools as swf, the game would need to be balanced around swfs, so solos who don't use said tools would be at a serious disadvantage, I'm not sure how I can explain my point any clearer than that.

    Solos would have two choices:

-Turn chat on, not allowed to complain about it because "just turn the chat off"

-Play at a disadvantage, not allowed to complain about it because "just turn the chat on"

DBD is not even close to being the most toxic game there is, but I still wouldn't go near any type of voice chat, and politely disagree about there being "rarely something like that".

Nah, you know solo teammates will still be fumbling even with the proxy chat. I know it and so do you. This is more of for goofy than anything and I'm for it as a beta that can be toggled in live like the wiggle skillchecks.

I'm not saying solos would stop being potatoes, I'm saying solos would be worst off precisely because proxy chat wouldn't make them much better but it would be taken into account when balancing and creating stuff.

Honestly I wouldn't mind trying it in beta but I doubt I would use it for long, I don't think the goof would be worth the toxicity tbh.

  • @Archol123 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3579670#Comment_3579670

How would it be more difficult at all? You could just mute it if you don't want to use it, so nothing changes, and if you do want to use it I would think the majority of people would not be like that.

The consequences of in game chat would make solo q more difficult because then everything will be balanced around people having comms. Hence, people in solo q would have no choice but either deal with the toxicity or play at a disadvantage.

This would obviously be worse with full on comms rather than just proximity chat, but honestly I can't imagine proximity chat not being toxic way more often than fun if killers and survivors can interact through it.

  • Honestly I have no idea, for some reason I just imagine him being really fast. Like literally just a M1 killer with crazy movement speed.

all bug reports are tracked, even with the Event ending - in case there is a similar Event in the future.

    Good to know, thanks !

  • Nothing was mentioned for "legacy" cosmetics or other rewards, so I doubt we're going to get anything (which is totally fine in my book, most of us got the cosmetics or even the characters at a pretty hefty discount, and we got to play them for 2 years).

As for the prestige bug, I also reported an event related bug that was never fixed, it's not surprising because the event would have ended before fixes could have been implemented. I do hope they take note of those bugs and get them fixed for the next events though.

  • Wouldn't it be hilarious if they're teasing Myers leaving DBD

"we got ST back, but at what cost ?"

  • For inner strength, I like the idea of tokens but I would much prefer they stack and only get used one at a time instead of healing faster if that makes sense, that way you can get your heals ready instead of ignoring totems and hoping your teammates don't break them before you need them. I don't mind having a stack limit though, being able to stack over two or three heals would be overkill.

Also, camaraderie should appear next to your hook icon or something so your teammates know you have it.

  • The only games I've had against infinite T3 + Tombstone Myers where he reached T3 before we had done at least 4 gens where games where multiple survivors decided to just stand still and let him stalk them for sh*ts and giggles, and even then he didn't always win.

This is a strong combination against newer survivors for sure, but once you learn the signs it's really not that threatening anymore.

honestly man when it comes to survivor to me it sounds like a skill issue i solo que all the tike and just run the killer the whole game or just gen jockey not to be rude and say get good but seriously get good if you cant solo que its probably a skill issue yeah you might not win but you can still have some fun games if you are goof whic is what i do.

If I was playing to win I would have stopped playing solo q a lot earlier than this. I don't mind losing at all and I don't expect solos to be anywhere near swf escape rates, nor do I blame BHVR, MMR, or killers for bad teammates. It's just that the games are tedious and boring, especially if you're trying to win. Also, I'm mad we still can't see our teammates' loadouts in the lobby.

    @rocket_widget said:

I have fun playing both sides, though I lean heavier in the killer end.

That being said, the MFT nerf really doesn't affect me, because I don't feel the need to run meta all the time. Half the fun is learning synergies for other perks and building something that's fun to play, not just that it increases your odds of winning.

I'll never understand posts like these, where people leave games and communities because devs do something they do/don't like.

Nerf your favorite killer? Learn to play with the nerf or play another killer.

Nerfed your favorite perk? Learn to play with the nerf or try other perk combinations.

It's really not that serious, but if you just don't enjoy the game anymore, then by all means. Just means I won't be a party to your "easy 4ks" 👋🏼

"I'll never understand post like these", yea it shows, if you had bothered actually reading it (or any of my replies) you would have realised idc about MFT or meta in general. Solo survivor is tedious and killer is easy enough it's boring, so no I'm not enjoying the game anymore.

And as much as I appreciate you two creating an account solely to post these replies I'll leave this discussion now

  • @ironligma said:

Oh a survivor wanting meta perks so the killers life can be insufferable, no way. I like the changes, I want to see something other than mft every match, cause variety in perks is fun. Although this change to it will mean I'll have to stop playing slinger at this point. I will say this, the buff to trickster seem excessive.

for the last time: I've only used MFT for Gab's adept and in the PTB, and I've been playing way more killer than survivor for months so I'm not even a survivor main. Also, nowhere did I ask for "meta" perks, my survivor build is literally empathy / kindred / fixated / lightweight, and that's when I bother equipping perks. This post was about many things and MFT was barely one of them and only used as an example.

I think deathslinger will be fine, people aren't going to run MFT on the off chance they go against him and Legion, and I wouldn't be surprised if BHVR changes the wording of the perk so their power doesn't activate MFT anymore. And there's no way the new main event will make it live, but yeah just the fact that the devs thought it was a good idea was the last nail in the coffin for me.

And it's not because MFT is nerfed that you'll see variety in perks, if anything it'll just reduce the number of good perks once again (because people keep complaining about anything useful and BHVR keeps nerfing everything popular). Survivors will just go back to SB, Lithe, Adrenaline until those get nerfed as well or something new and shiny comes along. To have variety in perks we'd need BHVR to actually buff the weaker ones but it's not happening ever, which is one of the many things I complained about in this post and that made me decide to stop playing.

  • @Nazzzak said:

I hear what you're saying and I feel the same way. I never even use MFT, so it's not that any changes to it actually affect me, it's that it's yet another additional activation requirement added in what is becoming a trend toward survivor perks. Meanwhile, they give killers an extremely good value perk that simply requires opening a locker. Playing in solo queue as survivor, you don't have time to jump through hurdles or use unique builds in anticipation of niche situations. You go in hoping for a team game but more often than not you're on your own and solo queue is damn rough. It comes off like the devs feel if you actually *want* to play to win, you need to be penalised in some capacity. So you start to feel like you shouldn't bother trying anymore.

People are commenting that it's all about MFT, but I understand where you are coming from. That it's actually the culmination of frustration that started for alot of solo queue players back at update 6.1.

I have zero issue with them wanting to change or nerf perks. It's the approach they're taking that I have issue with. For example, Iron Will. They cut it down to 75%, which is cool. Oh but they made it so running an exhaustion perk alongside it is pointless. They nerfed CoH, which I agree was needed. But oh, it now works best in a swf so you never see it in solo. DS they cut down to 3s for whatever reason. Okay fine, but oh you can't have it in endgame. Self Care... I won't even go there. Solo queue already has low escape rates yet the dev just keep throwing restriction after restriction because dog forbid we get value sometimes and escape one extra game than usual.

I've been watching alot more Mr Tatorhead and I'm honestly just going to go perkless like he does. I die most of the time anyway, so what does it matter which perks I run. Maybe that's the best way to just stop caring? Best way to save money by not buying chapters too.

Edit: sorry for the long post on your thread. It's clearly been brewing for awhile.

Oh don't apologize, it's exactly what this kind of feelings I have and what I mean by "it's an accumulation of stuff", rather than just being upset at one thing. I'm just tired of their "popular means too strong" logic, the fact that most nerfs literally just kill perks yet they refuse to revert them, and they make a show of (barely) buffing a handful of weak perks every six months. And yeah, as someone above said solo queue feels like it's only here to inflate kill rates and isn't taken into account when it comes to balancing things (the CoH nerf being a great example of that).

I personally thing its great that red forest is being shrunk, that map was just simply way too big. MFT is getting nerfed but is still useable.

Honeslty I would have been really excited for the red forest rework if I wasn't excepting the map to become a main building with a collection of unsafe pallets surrounding it, which seems to be the go-to solution for map balance, and which quite frankly I find boring both as killer and survivor.

The downside of calm spirit is a sad case to be fair... Though I think its a band aid fix for hex builds, as hexes are typically pretty weak in the meta currently. They are however somewhat supported by screams... so Calm Spirit being immune to screams indirectly makes hex builds even worse... I would hope that with an appropriate hex rework (which I'm sure is on the map somewhere) would see this change removed.

The vaults is definitely a problem, but that is a pretty huge bug... and devs will be trying to get sorted ASAP for sure. Female characters are inherently more popular, so you can bet that bug is a major money flow problem and high priority.

Fair observations on Trickster, I myself can see potential problems. I'm worried specifically about unhooking going against the fast Main Event charge.... I think these changes are primarily to make him better for console.

I played him on console and I don't think he's too bad to play, at least compared to comparable difficult killers (Deathslinger, Hillbilly and Nurse). However I can see against strong survivors I'd probably get dabbed on... I think these changes will be overtuned as they are, but the core principle doesn't seem tooooo bad to me.

The recoil being gone is a good thing, and most of the rest is not necessarily going to be too strong, but yeah saying "we know getting injured feels inevitable" and then making main event much easier to charge is concerning for sure

Sorry you feel that way dude, though I would contest that survivors isn't a dead role just because MFT got nerfed. Sprint Burst and Adrenaline are still Hella good perks for Survivor.

We also got Troubleshooter, Lucky Star and Light-Footed, Plot Twist and Dramaturgy that are all good perks, and the reworked Background Player is kinda bonkers... just they've been dwarfed by the MFT brokenness so noone bothers with them most games.

Trickster buff is a wait and see for me, and surely subject to change... its not like its set in stone, and will be toned back if too much. The killer consistently underperforms at almost all levels of play, so it's good to know they're actually looking at making him more accessible and unique as a rapid fire killer.

Blight I'm with you... I don't understand the lack of trigger pull on that...

I'm personally against the FOMO argument, as has been well established, so I won't go there...

Not that I'm trying to convince you to stay or anything, just not sure why this update specifically broke you... survivors recently got bots, the AFC and Skull Merchant nerfs all in one update, they got turret buffs and tail nerfs vs. Xeno, and they got Nick before that... survivors got a lot in the last few updates...

So a needed MFT nerf and a Trickster rework breaks you? I don't get it...

It's not necessarily this update in particular (I've never even used MFT outside of Gabriel's adept, so it's not like i'll miss it), it's just the accumulation of many small things (from calm spirit still not being reverted to vaults breaking multiple times since the Nicolas Cage update) and the way the Trickster update was worded that flipped the switch because it just sounds so backwards to me. Like honestly if they had just said "Trickster is weak we're buffing him" I wouldn't have cared, it's just the acknowledgment that Trickster is frustrating to face and the "solution" which just sounds a whole lot like they have no clue what makes him unfun for survivors.

Aw... That's sad to hear... Looks like you have a lot of posts on here and you're an active member of the community. You invested a lot of time into this game. I completely understand how you're feeling though and your frustration makes sense... I hope the upcoming PTB isn't as bad as you imagine and you still find a way to enjoy the game.

Honestly I think I've just ran out of patience, I've been an advocate for "let's just wait until the PTB / until it goes live / surely it'll be tweaked in a couple weeks" for so long I just don't want to anymore lol. But as you said, I've been way too involved in this game to just drop it forever, so I'll probably keep an eye on it and come back in a year or something haha, but thank you <3

Another end of the world because objectively overpowered perk is nerfed, already saw it after dh and coh nerf

Another "I won't come back" and will see you in next midchapter with improves for survivors

Blight will get his addon pass, but you will still claim he is op, cause everything who is not pig in the chase is op

    Booooooriiing

I don't care about MFT nerf beyond the fact that BHVR is proving once again that they don't know how to nerf OP perks without making them either useless or super niche. I literally only used the perk once (not counting PTB), and technically I've been a killer main since before the Singularity chapter.

It's not an airport m8. Nobody cares. Just leave.

You're right, giving feedback about why one would stop playing a game in the feedback forum section of said game is merely a front and people only do it so you personally come wave them off, because everything is about you and you're absolutely forced to read, acknowledge and reply to every post around here.
