It's literally impossible to NOT get the value of MFT though, unless they brought the sprint burst.
One of the issues with this perk is it literally works no matter what survivors do.
I get what you mean but 3% is pretty much useless if you can't loop to begin with, sure it extends chase a bit but it's still much shorter than if they had brought SB or Lithe for eg.
I saw someone say than for MFT to give as much value as SB you need your chases to be about 30s long or something, although I have no idea if that's true it's obvious that the survivors I go up against gain much more benefit from one speed boost from an exhaustion perk than they do with MFT, so although they do technically get value it's not nearly as much as they would with an exhaustion perk so it's easier to go against (for me at average MMR)

Only 116 achievements are currently working out of the total 220
You can view achievements you can currently complete with the Epic Overlay (Shift+F3 by default I think)
Thanks for the tip! I figured a bunch of them weren't working but I didn't know I could see which ones

But the problem I feel is with representation is. While it’s great to have it why not make original content with it and not retcon our characters.
representation doesn’t mean making past characters gay or a different color skin. Representation should be done to represent a characters culture or group. They make an original character that’s not so absurd and make it subtle
What do you mean retconning ? Very few characters' sexuality is implied. If they suddenly made Felix, who literally has a wife, or Frank, who's dating Julie, canonically gay I would understand the argument but like ?? David wasn't retconned bc your friend thought he didn't "look gay" that's just bs.
Assuming every character is straight and then complaining about "retcon" when we learn they're actually LGBT+ is a you problem, just stop assuming everyone is het lol.
Also you can't have it both ways, you don't want previous characters to be LGBT+ so you want new ones to have their sexuality official the minute they release but also want it to be subtle ? It's really silly to believe we should 'warn' straight people and make sure they don't get their feelings hurt down the line when they learn a character they like was gay all along. Also with this approach everyone would complain that "we don't need to know that it's a horror game", "why don't you announce that straight characters are straight when you release them", "stop shoving it down our throat" and the like.
Unless a character is officially straight (and the large majority aren't) there's no such thing as "retconning" here, just people assuming wrong and getting upset bc for some oh so mysterious reason they don't want a character they like to be LGBT+.
For eg Yui never has any boyfriend or husband mentionned in her lore so if her next tome mentions a girlfriend it wouldn't be retconning anything, the same way it wouldn't be retcon for her to have a boyfriend even if many assume she's a lesbian.

DH had exactly same condition.
Being injured and not being exhausted. Difference is you can use it all the time, before you use exhaustion perk.
Dead hard or balance landing can work well with Made for this.
I have yet to have game without Made for this and I play only M1 killers so I feel that perk a lot in my games.
Go play Legion for a day and let me know how it went.
Yes, that's why I said Made for this is only worth bringing with DH, which I do think may become a popular combo.
I've only played Singularity & Demo, but although I personnally didn't mind it I understand it probably has to do with my average MMR, I don't encounter many survivors good enough to get value out of MFT, which is also probably why I don't see it a lot.

It needs conditions if effect is too strong.
Old DH didn't have counter and was problematic for it. This perk does really similar thing old (distance) DH did.
Imagine pain resonance but works without limit on any hook. Doesn't seem as balanced perk, right?
Needing to be injured and not being exhausted are conditions enough in my opinion, as survivor I feel it's nice but not worth an exhaustion perk, so it's only worth running for DH users, and as killer I haven't had any issues against it so far and didn't see it much since a bit after the chapter dropped, so it seems survivors are already switching it back out for SB, Lithe and adrenaline.
I agree strong perks need conditions, restrictions or whatever but I just don't think Made for this is strong enough to require more conditions than it already has. I think it's just a very good perk on very strong survivors, but honestly I don't think that's a problem.

Maybe the problem is Epic not detecting the achievement, I got it yesterday without problems playing on Steam.
Probably, I also tried getting Kate's and it didn't work either. Non-adept achievements work though, it's weird.

I don't know about auto aim but the lunge distance doesn't feel any different to me.
-
I enjoy trying to play him but I absolutely suck at it. The only reason I get any kills is because I give up on his power and just play him as a M1 killer. I can't even beat bots lmao it's sad. I don't think I even fully understand how the biopods work yet, I just hope I keep trying to learn him instead of giving up and going back to my trusty Demo because he does look like lots of fun.
I don't really have anything to say about going against him because the ones I've gone against are also clearly still learning to play him properly so he doesn't feel like a threat at all (either the killer is just trying to learn is power and clearly doesn't expect to win or they just M1 the entire time).
-
I believe the kill switch doesn't work or something, I think BHVR tweeted out that they couldn't kill switch wesker (yet)
-
@fulltonon said:
Stack or not plain basically unconditional 3% haste without any counter is literally a bad designed perk, I wish BHVR to actually hear the feedback and fix the problem.
It's literally not unconditional, also you can counter it with exhaustion perks and add-ons. Even if you think that's not enough, since when do perks need counters ? The ones that do are usually not worth bringing.
-
Tried it again, still didn't work :( I got an other achievement though so the problem is probably just this one.
-
Before the adept update they used to but it literally happened to me twice like two days ago and I didn't get it lmao, so either it's a bug or it was changed on purpose but it's not currently the case (unless it's a bug that only affects me personally but I can't imagine I'm that special lol)
-
Adrenaline is fine. I'm not sure why you bring Blood Rush into this, no one uses it specifically because it has too many conditions. If anything Blood Rush should get a buff but Adrenaline doesn't need a nerf.
Solo q survivors being able to pull off things that were only possible in swf is a good thing.
-
If the killer DCs survivors don't get their adepts either (it's happened to me multiple times the last few days). I don't know if it's intended but I agree it kinda sucks. I don't think I'll do my killer adepts until bots are implemented.

With movement speed bonus is an issue that either killer don't care, or killer gets destroyed.
I am not going to care at all as Blight against this, but Legion or Wraith? Yeah, that's a no from me.
I haven't played killer since the chapter came out (queues are always too long when there's a new killer) so idk how it feels like to against it. I did play in the PTB and didn't mind it as killer but I'll wait a bit before forming an opinion from the killer PoV.
However I did use it as survivor and although it's a good perk and it feels nice to use I don't think it's worth bringing over an exhaustion perk. Maybe it'd be very good with DH but I'm not a DH user so I haven't tried it, otherwise I don't think it's going to be a super popular perk.
I don't think people are going to drop sprint burst, adrenaline (and even lithe) for it so I doubt it'll be very popular, unless people pick DH up again in which case I assume it'll be a popular combo ? Idk we'll see in a couple weeks I guess.

Yeah, I agree it's quite situational, it feels nice but it's not as good as an exhaustion perk tbh. Also, of course many people are using a new perk, I'm not sure why people are surprised about it or why it would be bad to have one more perk in the quite exclusive "perks worth bringing" club.

I've posted a lot of survivor play and, from my posting history, it's clear I do play a lot of survivor. I also don't BM on either role and one of the common experiences of people that play both roles is that Killers experience more BM than survivors.
You're also not comprehending my entire argument. I'm not saying there's aren't toxic Killers; I even stated I get bled out by somebody being toxic about one in a hundred games. What I'm saying is that if survivors stopped teabagging Killers then the number of bleed outs would diminish.
How many times does a Killer bleed out survivors just to bleed them out without provocation? Very little. How often does at least one survivor teabag a Killer at a loop or at the exit gates? You know the answer to that.
If people want less bleeding out as BM then start respecting their opponents and don't initiate BM and stop gloating at the exit gates.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3452332#Comment_3452332
That's good you apologize but you don't get to control how people react. If I do a thumbs up that means that's great where I live. In Greece and the Middle East it means 'up your'. I'm not going to argue that people in Greece or the Middle East should accept my interpretation as that would be ridiculous and selfish. What I would do is not give a thumbs up to anyone from Greece and the Middle East as that's basic human decency.
It's the same thing with teabagging. You do not get to control how the other person interprets the action. It is offensive to many people and by doing it you would be arguing that your desire to do it is more important than how the other person reacts. That would be selfish and entitled so just don't do it if you truly don't want to upset anyone.
There's more tbagging than bleeding out because they're not equivalent in any way. Tbagging is literally pressing a button and doesn't have any consequence, bleeding out someone not only requires work but it also wastes 4 minutes of the killer's own time. You can't bleed out someone mid-game without basically giving up the game.
One is a taunt and the other is a 4min time out for both players, most killers don't bother punishing tbaggers this way because it's not worth it.
Of course if people stopped tbagging the number of bleed outs would diminish (and I agree it would be good), but the ones getting bled out less would be the ones who deserved it in the first place. Survivors who get bled out for no reason would still get BMed as much. So like, I don't know who your post is aimed at because survivors who tbag don't care enough to stop, those who don't can't do anything about it and apparently you don't want to stop punishing survivors (which is fine, you do you).
Also, everyone's experience is different. I've personally experienced more BM from killers than survivors for at least a few months, and I get bled out way more than 1/100 games. On the other hand I rarely get tbagged (even at the gates).
Finally, I'm not sure how survivors tbagging at the exit gates relates to this, considering if they're escaping you can't bleed them out, unless you take it out on the next innocent batch of survivors or bleed survivors out preemptively. But then it's just the chicken and the egg, survivors BM because they assume the killer will tunnel or slug or whatever and killers BM because they assume survivors will gloat if they win (and it'd be silly to argue about which side started it first).

@TheSubstitute said:

But I'm not saying if you don't teabag you won't get slugged. I'm saying being bled out just to be bled out will be significantly reduced if you don't teabag.
I also didn't refer to Killers as Killers get BMed far more than survivors. When I play Killer I also don't camp or tunnel and slug mainly to keep a Survivor in the game for longer just to avoid killing them early. I also get BMed but less than I would otherwise.
My point is that negativity breeds negativity. There is no reason to initiate BMing. Everyone is just playing a game to have fun and people can (and should) respect their opponents or, as a bare minimum, treat them as they would anybody else.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3452000#Comment_3452000
Except you're incorrect. When I play Killer, unless BMed, I don't camp, tunnel, and alternate hooks to make sure that nobody goes out early. Although it was on a different topic than BMing I've even posted videos of gameplay here where I've deliberately kept survivors around longer just so they could have a decent game. I still get teabagged and BMed.
There is more BM from survivors than from Killers. It's easier to do (teabagging can be done from the start while bleeding out requires a chase and downing a survivor first), people who are the type to BM are more likely to do it in a group against an individual, and while almost nobody defends things like bleeding out just to bleed out there are unfortunately many people who will attempt to defend survivors BMing or minimize it which makes it more acceptable in their minds.
There's also no reason to BM. There are no sides; everyone here is just here to have fun playing a videogame. Something that would go a long way to reducing BM would be not starting it in the first place.
lol well i guess if you only BM because you were BMed first surely it's what everyone does.
For real though, if you play only or mostly killer I'm not sure how you know how other killers behave, and if you do play a certain amount of survivor I can't fathom how you would actually believe this whole "survivors are toxic and killers are only responding" bs.
Finally, you are right: there are no sides. The same people BMing you on one side are most likely the same people BMing you on the other side, so it's clearly not a question of who's worst, who started what and 'if this side stopped surely the other would' (they wouldn't).

Anecdotally I never teabag and I'm basically never slugged. Maybe 1/50 games. No exaggeration.
Welp, lucky you lmao. I don't get slugged very often but it's probably between 1/20 and 1/30 or something if I had to guess. On the other hand i don't know if it's because I play Demogorgon and play nice or if I'm just lucky but I genuinely very rarely get tbagged. Like, I get tbagged more often by survivors offering me their items or for other non-toxic reason than I get tbagged at the exit gates or mid-chase or whatever, and by quite a margin. I think these things probably also depend on MMR, server and time of playing (and also way of playing probably, I'm a chill killer so survivors rarely get very competitive against me).
-
Right now it's pretty much dead, I don't see nearly as many people who use OTR as I used to see people with DS pre-nerf.
-
I've never Tbagged (intentionnally at least), I get slugged as much as the next survivor.
Thinking one side is toxic for no reason whatsoever while the other side being toxic is justified 90% of the time because "the other side surely started it" is absolute baloney.

Unfortunately a lot of survivor players disagree that camping isn’t always toxic. I’ve been called every name in the book and suggested to off myself because I stayed near the hook when it was absolutely the right play. Some people feel like you aren’t playing fair unless you hide in the opposite corner of the map for 30 seconds after hooking them.
Yeah absolutely, but I don't think avoiding to call camping by what it is would change the behavior of those people tbh. They're stuck in "camping bad" mode to the point where they'd still expect you to leave if everyone is here, so I see no point in catering to their views by only using "camping" when talking about 'bad' bevahiors. If we still say camping when it's justified or the best move maybe at some point they'll realise camping isn't always bad.
-
That's absolutely camping. Camping is obviously the best play here, but it's still camping.
Camping (just like slugging) isn't always bad, toxic or unwarranted and it has its place in the game, so there's really no shame in calling camping behaviors by what they are just because most people wouldn't complain about it like they do with other camping scenarios.
-
It doesn't matter how much you punish people for not wanting to play, they still won't play. Even if you manage to keep them in the game they will at best be useless and at worst sandbag their teammates to get the game over with faster. I'd rather have one less teammate than one who's actively working against the team.
-
Bots also know how to tbag, they've grown so much :')
-
That's a very fair suggestion, I think there's a quite a few instances of descriptions being confusing and / or inconsistent (I made an entire post on this subject about healing perks), I hope they do a description pass at some point.
Also, don't worry about making a post about something people already pointed out (unless it's a bug report) even more so if there's no recent and active post about what you want to talk about.
And finally, welcome :)
-
Although this is much better than some other ideas floating around (making him into a skin or new survivor), it's still quite uncomfortable to 'honor' him by gaining more bloodpoints (not to mention it seems the devs don't want perks that have a BP bonus anymore).
I'm sure you have good intentions but I personnally think the charm is enough, or that if we get something more it should be a cosmetic piece that has no effect on gameplay. It'd be nice if they made a small charity collection with different cosmetic items inspired by Puppers and all profits go to ALS research or related charities though.
-
Nah that's not it, bad survivors were rarely able to get any value out of DH anyway.
I've never used dead hard but my chases are shorter. When DH was nerfed there was also a lot of other changes, including basekit buffs to killers and Bloodlust.
I think the only impactful change the DH nerf had is that killers who used to waste 10s trying to bait it have stopped.
Also, a bunch of players left after the meta shake up but not all of them came back.
-
When survivors spent time healing and brought second chance perks y'all complained until it got nerfed.
Now that being in chase is simply not worth it and survivors just do their objective y'all still complain.
And even when survivors throw the game to focus only on killer interaction they're a 'bully squad' so you keep complaining.
And btw isn't it weird how when killers get 4ks at 5gens it's just 'gg wp' but when survivors get 4E with 3 hooks it's OP and the balance is broken ?
It just sounds like what you guys is want is for survivors to be just good enough that you feel like you earned your win without them actually having any chance at winning. Just play against bots or something.
-
I don't think it's gonna happen bc technically it's two different games ? I just merged my Epic & Steam accounts and have to get all the achievements again, but honestly although I thought it'd be a pain it's actually pretty fun to have objectives again.

This !! I've had way more positive endgame chats or interactions in game than people being agressive or mean.
Absolutely, I have 1500 hours and can count the negative post chat interactions I've had on my two hands, I don't know if it's a server or MMR thing or whatever but I wouldn't be playing this game if the toxicity lived up to its reputation.
-
Maybe I'm just lucky but I've had much more positive interactions than negative ones, and by a very large margin. It's kind of a shame the community has a bad rep when most players are nice.
We should absolutely share the wholesome moments more instead of just focusing on the bad ones ^^
-
Kate also has Boil over which is pretty good. Unfortunately I think people would stick to characters with exhaustion perks, Meg would be absolutely be the strongest, but Feng Min also has Alert which is pretty underrated. Zarina would be pretty good too.
-
If deppiping doesn't get removed, at least the requirements to get a pip should be made easier. Like, there are 4 survivors so as long as everyone is somehow pulling their weight it's honestly too difficult to pip once you reach gold & iri.

I didn't know until recently too haha
I've just installed DBD on epic and so far I don't have any issues getting my adepts there (and I didn't have any problems on steam) so I don't know if it's a random bug or just on xbox
-
My favorite depends on my mood lol, Jake, Yui, Feng Min, Zarina or Rebecca.
My least favorite is always the same and i'd be surprised if anyone ever took his place: Jonah
-
If I have a challenge to kill X survivors yes, otherwise I 'soft' protect it, so I don't go too far from it until I find an other survivor and chase them instead. I'm less likely to get a kill this way but I don't find protecting a hook very fun.
-
I'm the contrary haha there's bunch of characters that I love in game but know would probably never approach or get along with if they were real. Like, I love Jake because he's a silly dude in the woods but irl I would probably just think he's a weirdo who had a mental breakdown ngl.
-
I'd like a simple waving emote to be available for both survivors and killers.
I don't think I would like over the top emotes like dances and stuff, but ultimately I don't care much.

Good news for you :), they announced in the anniversary stream they're working on an anti-camping mechanic. I don't remember if they gave an ETA but it's coming !
-
The adept achievement conditions have been changed recently, I think you just need to get a 4k now ? If you got a 3k each time it probably explains it.
Other than that, tagging devs (Mandy, Peanits) is against the forum rules (and I don't think tagging any mod is going to make bug reports go through faster)
-
I use WoW because visibility on some maps sucks, and even more against some killers (Nightfall, deep wound...).
It's also really useful because I can know where my teammates dropped pallets so I can avoid unsafe areas.
Alhought WoW helps new players learning how to loop (which is a good thing), survivors who already know how to loop, chain or hold w can very much still do it without WoW bc in the end it's just an info perk.
-
I don't have motion sickness but my pheripherical vision is basically non-existent, so i'm very excited about being able to see more.
In any case whatever the reasons why people wanted or even needed the FoV slider, I'm glad I wasn't delusional when I assumed (and claimed) it was probably in the works and I'm really excited for it to be implemented :))
The day it gets implemented will be a win for accessibility (and hopefully it will stop the oh so useless arguments making accessibility about us v them)
-
I'm going to ignore the majority of the rant considering I personnally think solo q is in a pretty good state rn, but all the issues you mentionned in your 1st "more so" sound like you have connection issues ngl, those thing do happen once in a while (when connection is bad the server has a tendency to favor the killer), but if it happens a lot I assume there's probably some kind of issue on your part.
-
Geography: This perk is simply unusable. Not only you need to do 3 gens, but you also need to open a chest and rummage through it and there's supposed to be gens left to repair by the time you did all that? Unless your whole team is afk you'll never get value out of this perk, and you might as well bring a toolbox which easily gives more than 20% speed boost.
Pickpick: This perk isn't bad per say (besides the key guaranteed everytime you open / rummage a chest instead of just once), but any perk that encourages players to wait for their teammates to die so they can escape is usually a terrible idea.
Familiarity: the free extra 10s on hook is a no from me, but i do like the idea of sabotaged hook making sacrifices longer, if it had a number of stacks (same number as Scourge Hooks for Monstruous Shrine minus the basement for eg) it could be a nice perk, or even a nice buff to sabotage.
-
Thank you for this ! I suck at using Reddit and it was taking me ages to read everything lol
-
I'm excited for it but the fact that it's early 2024 makes me think it will be a heavy rework (like Freddy as you said), which is a tad worrying tbh.
-
I wish "escape through the hatch" challenges would be replaced by "be the last survivor to escape the trial", that way hatch still counts but survivors don't immediately think that the best course of action is to wait for everyone to die.
-
I'm not sure it's related but I've been kicked from games a few times the last couple weeks (the game full on crashes with the error report), although my connection doesn't have any issues. I also started getting some buffering issues, but it's possible that's just my computer not enjoying the rising temperatures tbh.

Sorry, my apologies for not being clear, I was checking if it mentioned the 'locker spamming mechanic' that I had assumed makes the locker fall. I am curious to know if this is actually a bug or not.
Definitely a bug, otherwise it wouldn't have been fixed the last time it appeared. It's a kind of funny non-game breaking bug though, so I don't mind it much.
