This is definitely not a hardware problem, even though I have a weak PC, I play Overwatch every day and I don't have these teleports or any kind of problems.

I believe that this problem will never be solved, because the problem with the servers has long been

Yeah, DBD is the game that runs the worst on my PC as well. Everytime there's a new chapter I wonder if it's going to get significantly worse. I don't know if it's a poor optimization issue or a server issue (probably a bit of both tbh) but in either case we can't do anything about it besides complaining.

  • I would have said use Dead Hard but since its nerf I don't think it would work anymore, so 360 like crazy when you don't have any other option left, fake windows and stuff like that. You can also bait a hit while the killer is carrying someone and if all goes wrong you can try to run near a killer when they're chasing somebody else and I think if they hit them but not you it still counts

  • Yeah, a lot of people have been reporting server issues, lag, freeze and the like recently, my game has been freezing up to 30seconds before returning to normal since the beginning of the event. I haven't seen BHVR adress any of these issues but considering it's happening to a lot of people and if your other games work just fine there's unfortunately not much you can do, except hope whatever went wrong with the servers get fixed soon.

However if your other games are very laggy as well the problem is probably your computer / console and I wouldn't know how to help you.

  • I assume data shows made for this is fine and that it's not a problem against most killers, so bhvr isn't going to nerf it anytime soon. I personally haven't had any issues with it although I've basically only been playing killer since it came out.

The only thing "worth" nerfing would be the stackablilty of haste, but doing so would open the hell of a can of worms (If haste can't stack why can regression perks stack ? If if you add a limit to how fast a survivor can be why don't you add a limit to how fast gens can be done ?).

  • I got him thanks to the anniversary sale a couple days ago and he's already P2 with about 100 cakes even though I haven't played him yet lol i will soon join the wesker cult and we will spread until DBD becomes Dead by Wesker

  • Honestly, occasional server problems are fine but I just wish BHVR would let us know that there's an issue and they're working on it rather than make all of us rush to the forums to figure out if we're the only ones with the problem and leave us in the dark about how long it'll stay like that.

Why do people come to the forum to try to justify the way they play? Play however you want, but don’t expect people not to complain. If you don’t like comments, turn off end game chat.

Exactly this, some people will go on rants for days about how "your fun is not my job" but have a metldown when someone says "snooze game" in endgame chat. like if you don't care about your opponent(s)' fun why are you mad when they say they didn't have any?

One time i went against a hardcore tunneler and facecamper who said "gg" in endgame chat and threw a fit because a survivor replied "wp survs" and was apparently entitled bc they didn't think it was a good game

  • Marry: Huntress, Oni

    F: Trickster, Skull Merchant

    Kill: Freddy

    Adopt: Demogorgon

  • For context:

It was quite a while ago in solo q.

A random apologized in pre-game chat and warned us he would probably be bad because he was high.

The game plays out, it was actually a pretty good game and 3 of us escaped after we saved the high dude who was being camped during end game with very basic teamwork and nothing out of the ordinary.

I've since deleted my post game chat ss but it was basically this (with more typos lol):

    Me: ggs

    Killer: ggs

    Survivor 2: gg wp

High survivor: Omgg thanks you for much for saving me!!!

    Me: no problem :)

High survivor: Dream team fr frfr it was insaaane

High survivor: it was so good I swear

High survivor: you went like wooosh and BAM unhook best teammates ever

    Me: haha

    Survivor 2: he's high alright

    Killer: ah

    Killer: I was wondering

  • Play however you want but don't expect people to be happy with your choice. You're free to hard tunnel for no reason but they're also free to complain about it.

  • If you're really good at looping probably made for this, otherwise sprint burst is the safer bet considering you need to be healthy to get value out of overcome.

  • If you're really good at looping probably made for this, otherwise sprint burst is the safer bet considering you need to be healthy to get value out of overcome.

  • Licences being popular or not has very little to do with them being lost or not. ST was rumored to be lost because Netflix wanted the characters to be exclusive to a Stranger Things game they launched (or will launch in the future I'm not sure).

Ultimately all licences are under a contract and are all at risk of not being renewed. But, I'm gonna assume if we lose any licences it would be the ones that don't seem to have a good relationship with BHVR (Nightmare on Elm's Street), rather than the ones they collabed with multiple times (RE franchise, Saw & Left 4 Dead which had tomes and Ghostface that keeps getting outfits)

and I'm still hoping ST will come back haha

  • Run Easy anti-cheat as administrator, there should be an option to repair and reinstall it, which should fix the issue.

What does bp and exp mean if you're having fun. Nothing, and im sure you can find a killer and 2 others on the dbd discord, you just choose not to, because you'd rather stomp killers under the veneer of playing with friends.

My original point is that swf is a crutch, anyone who says otherwise obviously didn't read the million threads talking about solo being rubbish and why they're adding tools to make it easier to communicate.

lmao sure what does getting shards, cosmetics through the rift or leveling up your characters mean when you could just not for the only benefit of random people complaining ? Also if fun was all that mattered no one would sweat to being with. Why do killers tunnel to win or slug for the 4K when they could just have fun instead? Why do survivors even bother doing gens to escape when there's really nothing fun about it?

Communication is obviously a big help but being in a swf doesn't mean you're on comms and having comms absolutely does not mean survivors are playing efficiently. most swf aren't communicating like an esports team and are actually just having fun.

Also for the record i've played in a swf once, with one other person and without comms, which is what most swf are. There aren't a lot of people who actually go against 4men swf on comms most of the time, and considering the number of people who claim they're one of those on this forum I'd say the majority are just using it as an excuse every time they lose because they can't fathom survivors can beat them without a crutch like comms or OP perks.

The vast majority of killers don't need to go against a wannabe comp team to get stomped, most of the time it's just MMR putting them against stronger survivors and not 4 survivors of their skill who go from "being rubbish" to "stomp killers" simply by using discord.

But you can do that in kyf if it's about fun. That way you don't have to impact those who don't want to enjoy your swf.

No thanks, im a killer main an when i do play surv i happily play with randoms.

Except you'd need 5 people to play a normal game in kyf and the most common swf are only 2 people. And even if you have 5 players you would't gain any BPs, EXP or get your challenges and dailies done.

No one is going to stop their game progress because you don't want to go against people who play a multiplayer game with their friend(s).

  • Have you repaired the anti cheat itself or just dbd ?

I think this happened to me a long time ago and there was a very easy fix to do with the anti-cheat

  • People watch players who are so good they lose only to swf on comms and blame them every time they lose because they severely overestimate their skills and MMR and think they're a comp level killer bc they watched an Otz guide.

Even without going as far as doing that, you can see just from the forums that a lot people genuinely believe they're going against 3 or 4 ppl swf most of the time which is very unlikely to be the case.

Also, I've found that people who don't play survivor enough to have developed proper game sense think every kind of teamwork or altruistic act is proof that their opponents are a swf. Some people can't fathom that you can get a flashlight save, know when to take a hit or coordinate a save against a facecamper without communication because they wouldn't know how to do it.

On a lighter note I find it quite funny when killers assume they're against a swf based on the characters survivors are playing or their outfits, sometimes you just see two matching people and want to join the fun lol.

  • The beginning of events is always rough but it calms down pretty quickly tbh.

My games have basically returned to normal if you ignore the surprising amount of Bubbas trying to make the most of insidious before the anti-camping mechanic is implemented.

Ever since the anniversary, i've been getting giant lag spikes for one. but that's not what i'm here to talk about

killers! I've been playing survivor because my killer qs are like 10 minutes long. But, when playing survivor.. it seems EVERY killer is sweating, hard. i've faced maybe 14% killers who haven't hard tunnelled, and if they didn't they were running 4 gen regression perks as a spirit or a blight. But regardless, they're almost all running full gen regression anyway, and just sweating for a win instead of having fun in the anniversary. The 5 killer games i've had, there's been all gens done in maybe.. 5-6 minutes at absolute best. I try go for 8hooks and 0 kills, and i can't get close to it because people just seem to be sweating a stupid amount lately. Any thoughts?

I mean everyone playing more sweaty during events (or just when there's a bloodrush) isn't anything new. I personally dont mind it because it's to be expected. I played killer first to get all the masks so I'm not frustrated about not getting them as survivor, so now I'm just enjoying the BP bonus.

Also I think a lot of people are having lag spikes and buffering (? pretty sure that's the right word), my game dies a little everytime I use an invitation or someone else uses one close to me, it's annoying to say the least.

  • With the player profiles coming up it'd be nice to have a "X people gave this player props" sort of thing on it

  • @HugTheHag said:

On the other hand, it would also be very funny if they all were really bad.

Nicolas Cage bringing terrible perks would genuinely be so funny I wouldn't be mad

  • Honestly i think there will be at least one OP perk that people will buy the dlc for and will get nerfed in a few months. Hope I'm wrong though.

  • I personnally like it better before they lowered the saturation, but I understand it was quite difficult to track on and was a bit too much for some players.

  • In a perfect world with a balanced game and great MMR, players on both sides would have the same skills and the same chance of winning, therefore in average would win 50/50 of their games. Obviously this is an average number and some insane people would still win 90% of their games, but the large majority of people would hover around 50/50 if balance & matchmaking were perfect.

I don't think anyone would argue that you should win only half your games if you went against people you're better than, when people say "if it was balanced you'd win 50/50 of your games" it's implied that this would be the case against people of the same skills; which is why I agree complaining about win streaks of comp swf and comp killers playing against regular players doesn't make much sense.

  • The auto bloodweb is available for both survivors and killers, however you need to have your character at Prestige 1 to unlock it, which I agree is very annoying and unecessary.

  • There's always people who will find things to complain about. They complain about something until it gets nerfed and then suddenly have a problem with something thas has been in the game since forever and didn't bother them until now.

The best way to enjoy DBD is to stay out of the forums tbh, feedback is good but a lot of it (if not most) is just people being tilted after they lost a game, or people who sweated their way to a MMR too high for their skills and demand that everything gets balanced around them so they can keep winning against opponents stronger than them.

Solo queue being 'very viable'? I don't think we're playing the same game...

The other stuff is true though.

Maybe "very viable" is a stretch but it's definitely in the most viable state it's been in a looong time

  • Singularity is quite a peculiar killer, I'd suggest watching gameplay of him and try to figure out if you'd enjoy playing him while keeping in mind that he's difficult to learn.

Unless you really want Singularity I'd suggest you get two killers instead (I'd suggest Plague & Dredge over Knight both for perks & playstyle but that's just a personal opinion), it's obviously more cheap that way and you can always get Singularity later.

  • I think it's because dark theory is 1 perk that gives value to all survivors, but it should absolutely be buffed in some way.

Agreed again. I was a bit confused by your sentiment but I'm affraid I don't quite understand how "making chases worth it" would look like. I'd love to hear your thoughts on how that might be achievable because it doesn't sound like a bad idea.

That last point is something that I've experienced too. Mostly you go into a match and depending on how well the first 2 minutes of the game go you already have a pretty good idea of who is going to win. Of course, come backs are always possible but they are unlikely. Considering that the devs also wanted to do more about 3-genning (which is a good thing btw) I see this only getting worse however.

Honestly I'm not quite sure haha I think it'd just mean a chase would be worth the risk, either through some kind of reward (more BPs or some kind of in-game bonus), or simply to ba able to gain enough time for your team, but it'd be difficult to achieve this one without going back to a meta similar to the one prior the shake up, which people were happy to see leave, where survivors can be too strong.

I think it's just that if being in chase wasn't a bad thing then survivors would back off their objectives, like they did before the healing nerf because chases weren't as punishing. The problem is that making chases less punishing would obviously not be any good for killers, so finding balance is difficult tbh.

I agree about the 3gen thing, I can't imagine it will help the situation but maybe it'll make things bad enough that we'll get a toolboxes rework. Honestly, I think we'll just slowly circle back to something similar to the old meta, considering BHVR already started reverting POP nerf and the like.

You balance around the top end of play because that shows what players are capable of doing, and if that isn't balanced, the game never will be. It's literally one of the easiest things to understand. The fact that you're claiming it's a bad way to balance is mind boggling. It doesn't matter if that's "not how most people play" it matters that those things CAN BE DONE. You don't balance around who plays at what level, games need to be balanced around what can and can not be done, and how those things can be done. It's literally that simple.

I'm not saying the game shouldn't be balanced for the top players, I'm saying comp games specifically aren't representative of the meta and balance because of the many rules & restrictions that make their games very different than they would be if those same players played a regular game, and that saying we should nerf survivors because comp gamers are good in chase is silly.

The thing is not every perk needs to be top tier. There is always space for some niche perks to do certain things. And I used it 3 times and got value from the endurance twice.

I wish that was true, but let's be honest 90% of the time "niche perks" are actually "perks that you'll get value from once in every thirty games" and a 3% buff speed to run to the hatch faster wouldn't even qualify for that title.

I'm not against a MFT nerf, I just want it to still be good but BHVR has a tendency to nerf things heavily. This game only has a few really good perks and the rest are just not worth bringing, which I really wish wasn't the case. MFT is a fun perk, I don't want it to be nerfed tot he ground.

Also, did you have a build to get the endurance value or did you just get lucky? I've been healing hooks and basically running in the killer's face and it's never worked out lol.

ahhhhhh so you dont need to do both forks just one of them to get you to the end for the reward! i'm new to the game so assumed youd of need both the challenges leading to the point for the rift fragments. Back to the normal tome for me then.

Every nod you do will bring you rift fragments (3 or 5 depending on the challenge), but you don't need to do them all (or any if you're insane) to get enough rift fragments to complete the rift, even less when it's an event tome which means it's all extra and most people won't need the help, although if you just started playing it's possible you will, but the event ends as the same time as the rift so you can do the regular tome first.

However, if you want the event cosmetics & charms you need to unlock them in the event rift by doing the challenges connected to them (and until the last "eye" nod to get the charm + 10 fragments) but there's multiple paths possible so you don't need to do all the challenges to get the rewards.

  • @Xernoton said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3462988#Comment_3462988

I agree with the first part but I fail to see how making survivors stronger in chase would help with this problem. Killers would only double down and tunnel, camp and slug even more because chases are too big of a risk. Also, a survivor that is not in chase will not run up to the killer to get chased, which means the stronger one survivor is in chase and the longer that chase lasts the more free time the others get to do gens.

Gen rushing will not disappear just because tunneling, camping and slugging get nerfed and vice versa. Also, an asymmetrical game cannot work when the one side with fewer team mates isn't massively favored in some way. In DBD the killer is massively favored in chase (arguably not enough when you consider they had to add bloodlust to give killers a chance of ending chases). You will go down eventually. The only question is: "How long will it take?". If you add realistic possibilities for survivors to escape a chase that makes the killer basically just a tool for their entertainment with no real impact on the game.

You're right actually, I didn't mean "make them stronger in chase" literally, it was more of a "make chases worth it" sentiment but I understand it's not making much sense haha. What I was trying to say is that because of more or less recent changes chases are shorter, so being injured is more of threat but healing has been nerfed as well, in consequence survivors die more quickly (which is obviously made worse when the killer tunnels). Because survivors feel like they die more quickly they do try to do their objective more quickly (which in turns makes the killer do the same), even in solo q I see people doing dull totems, chests and self-healing a lot less than before, everyone is just doing gens now.

I absolutely agree that longer chases = more tunneling, just like the gen speed nerf ended up making a lot more survivor use gen perks. And I also agree nerfing one or the other wouldn't change the other side's behavior, we'd need some kind of meta shake up or something to switch up things again I think.

In all honesty I stopped playing for a while after the meta shake up because games became too long for my liking, so I really don't mind the shorter games lmao, but I don't think it's ideal that about a third of the time we already know how the game is gonna play out depending on the first 2 minutes of the game.

You....you realize that's how game balancing actually works right? You're supposed to balance around top end play, not low end play.

Right... because there's absolutely no one between the absolute beginners and the thirty people who play "comp DBD" and we should totally balance a game around people who clearly don't reflect the skill of 99% of the playerbase and add so many rules and restrictions you could argue their games don't reflect the balance of the game at all simply because that's not how people play the game.

  • @Raz_cr0w said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3462988#Comment_3462988

Survivors are strong enough in chase already and you know that if you've seen the comp teams. I think it's more to do with possible gen efficiency being too high. But I also would like for tunneling to be discuraged by some sort of mechanic but NOT just that without a survivor nerf first

Right... because killers absolutely go against comp teams regularly... we should also probably nerf every killer that has players getting impressive win streak with... surely it would all be fine...

The only thing that changed is how survivors play. Killers tunneling on top of the healing changes means being in chase isn't worth it and bringing medkits isn't worth it so survivors have to slam the gens if they want to win and they're more likely to bring toolboxes to do so.

The only things that need a nerf on the survivor side are the toolboxes, gen speed and gen perks are fine. It's just that a lot more survivors (me included) have started using them recently because there's not many perks worth running, and if we don't get gens done quickly we lose. If you nerf gen speed or gen perks, survivors are just going to focus even more on the generators assuming doing so still allows them to keep up with the killer.

"gen efficiency being too high" literally just means "survivors are playing well" btw, and it's quite silly to complain about it.

  • @Elkee said:

So just to understand from the answers it's not enough to simply activate the stun protection you actually have to block something that would stun you using an invitation?

Seems like it yes, I've personnally given up on the challenge (already completed the rift and the nod isn't necessary to get the cosmetic rewards, so the trouble isn't worth 15 000 BPs tbh)

  • It is super broken in the end game combined with hope

in this scenario how is the perk that gives 7% out of the 10% not the one that's the problem?

Make the 3% haste apply always (while injured and healthy) but only while the last survivor standing. This would give you a higher chance to pick up the downed survivors.

This would be such a bad perk it's not even funny lol. The only people that run perks that requires your teammates to be downed or dead are the ones who will absolutely not pick up a survivor ever, and even those people would probably not use a perk that gives them a mere 3% boost for like 1 minute once in every 20 games.

As for your other suggestion and overall idea to focus on the endurance effect: I genuinely have not seen one person get value out of the endurance effect and I have tried really hard to get it. Unless you severly buff the endurance effect and / or add something else, the perk would be useless without the speed boost. (And the higher skillcheck chance idea should just be added to autodidact as a buff, it would be silly to use half a build for autodidact which barely anyone runs anyway).

  • Sounds like a server thing, usually it favors the killer but sometimes you'll see yourself injuring or downing a survivor as they drop the pallet but on their screen they see themselves stunning you with the pallet and not getting hit. Used to happen a lot with Dead Hard, there's nothing you or the survivor can do about it.

  • As survivor:

Botany, Aftercare, OTR, Boon: Shadow Step

Fog Wise, We'll make it, Kinship, Inner Focus

    As killer:

Hex: Haunted Ground, Dead Man's switch and i can't remember the last two for the life of me, but I do remember not being familar with them so they're probably pretty recent perks.

Is this recent, or has it been an ongoing thing? This definitely only started in the last 24 hours for, but that's not to say it's not related to some other ongoing issue.

The item thing has being bothering me for as long as I can remember, but to be fair I very rarely bring items as survivor so I have no idea if it's an on and off kind of thing. As for the match found bug it's been very recent for me, it usually takes 5 to 10 seconds when I'm playing the role that doesn't have incentives but in the last week or so I've had multiple occasions where it lasted a good 20 to 30 seconds.

Handsome Jack with voice lines would give me life fr it'd be awesome

  • I'm on PC, the "match found" screen happens a bit, I chalk it up to something related to matchmaking but I truly have no idea why it happens. As for the item issue it happens to me all the time and it's sooo frustrating, the number of times I'm spamming my key to drop a survivor before they wiggle out and it doesn't work is like way too much.

Killers are tunneling NOW because gens go by way to quickly to get any good chases in

And survivors are gen rushing NOW because most killers tunnel and being in chase isn't worth it. As I said, it's literally the chicken and the egg (and it'll stay that way until survivors are somehow made stronger in chase or tunneling is somehow not the best killer strategy anymore)

  • If survivors' do enough gens before getting caught they have a good chance of winning, if they don't do enough they'll probably lose.

So it's kind of a vicious circle, survivors do gens as quickly as possible because they think they'll get tunneled out once they're caught, while killers tunnel out because they think they won't be able to keep up with gens if they don't.

  • Some people could win 50 times in a row but still complain about the game favoring the other side when they finally lose. It seems a lot of people don't understand that if the game was balanced they would lose a game out of two and think they're the exception that's so good they should never lose, because they can't fathom that their opponent(s) can also be just as good, just like way too many people believe they're in very high MMR.

Good for them to be (over)confident in their own skills ig, but it's a bit sad people think it's embarassing to be average considering most of us are lol.

  • To unlock the masks you need to have enough charges from your invitation left. If you keep using the effects but don't pick up an other invitation you won't unlock anything.

  • I don't think survivors get less because of the event items, but simply because there's more variety in survivor bloodwebs (including a bunch of useless stuff) so they're less likely to get something than killers.

It's always more difficult to get literally anything for survivors. I wouldn't mind it if the stuff we got instead was useful, but there's so many useless add-ons (and items tbh) that it makes the whole thing frustrating.

Although I would like a non-repeat system for killers similar to the one for maps, I don't think it could be implemented without making matchmaking worse in quality and longer for popular killers, which would be unfair to them.

  • Went against two Bubbas today (in solo q), first game the Bubba was staying around the hook and trying to tunnel but wasn't facecamping facecamping, we got everyone out with 3 or 4 hooks I believe. Second game the Bubba was properly facecamping (insidious and everything), he got 6-7 hooks but we all got out thanks to the power of friendship basic teamwork and hook trade. We also didn't have any unhook related perk or even kindred.

Unless the Bubba is very determined they always make a mistake because standing so perfectly still and focused in front of a survivor is actually very boring and they're bound to get distracted at some point.
