  • I really want to but I absolutely suck at using his power so I play him as a M1 killer with basically no power, so I went back to playing Demogorgon.

I think I'm just not patient enough to learn new powers, mostly if they're at least a tiny bit difficult to use properly. I also wanted to play Dredge but I haven't touched him since the last anniversary (he still has last year's offering equipped lol), I'm doomed to only play basic killers like Demo, Doctor, Legion, Trapper & Huntress bc im stupid basically.

Can you explain farming? Because I was accused of farming once.

I usually play to the point when I win, not when everyone is dead, i.e. all alive on hook and last one is down (or everyone alive are downed), they I let last one to wiggle out, uhook still breathing friends, finish gen and get out. Or find hatch if only one left.

Those who lived to this moment, usually very happy and gladly help finish some stupid grindy challenges/achivements (like break 9000 pallets or kick 100000 generators). Also I very often give "rescue mission" and "left for dead" achievements. And 90% of the time everyone is superhappy and saying nice things in EGC.

But once one survivor said that I'm farmer and held the game hostage and get reported (he didn't live to the end, though, maybe was just envious of his friends)

I don't consider that farming tbh, that's just being friendly. I think the survivor was probably jealous, and you weren't taking the game hostage at all considering survivors could just do the gens and leave.

I consider farming to be "not playing the game as intended to maximize BPs for everyone", stuff like kicking a gen over and over again, having everyone lined up to get hooked twice, hitting survivors until they've maxed out their heal points... these kind of things I find really boring and not fun (not to mention playing the game normally usually gets you BPs faster). Playing normally and then letting survivors go is just nice.

  • There's many reasons as to why a survivor would stay at the gate. When a teammate is missing you don't know if they're safe at the other gate, if you need to gain time for them to go to the other gate and / or open it, if they're at risk of needing you to go back and assist them...

The only scenario where they're wasting time just for the sake of wasting time is if they know the remaining survivors are safe (either because they're on comms or because they're all at the same gate), but in this case you can easily push them out.

  • I vividly remember after the Iron Will nerf BHVR saying they would equalize survivor sounds, did that ever happen?

  • I find farming really boring on both sides, when I want to be friendly I just play normally except I don't hook survivors if they're on death hook, and once everyone is on death hook I let them do the remaining gens (which doesn't take long because I stop pressuring gens depending on how quickly I'm hooking everyone) and then I open the gates once they're done. The only kind of farming I'll do is during the endgame collapse and only if survivors are asking me to, and even then I usually make them leave after a couple of minutes.

  • I disagree about the survivors' abilities being strong, they're not bad but they're miles away from being as good as the killer ones (but honestly I don't mind). However I do agree it's really fresh and quite fun to play with.

I'm not sure how I would feel about it if it was permanent but I'm glad BHVR is experiencing with more diverse gameplay stuff and am really enjoying the event so far.

  • I think I've seen a few bug reports about this, you should check them out to see if it's the same problem

  • ...but the invitations are much stronger for killers than survivors ? The window block is basically useless and the pallet immediately breaks, while killers can insta break pallets and expose survivors (and I think I'm forgetting something else).

I've only played killer so far and haven't had any issues with invitations besides the fact that they feel a bit clunky to use.

Seriously, some random bug reports about stupid achievements are not being declined but this one is??? This feels so weird lol

To be fair they don't decline the other topics about this bc they don't care but so all the complaints would be on the same discussion to make it easier for the Devs to gather reports and figure out what's happening (and they do this with every bug that gets reported a lot, which isn't usually the case for small bugs like achievements ones)

I'm having a discussion around this right now, and working with the team - we will keep you updated if this turns out to be the case.

Thank you ! For now i just tell myself it adds a little suspense every time a game loads haha

  • I heard they're in the store already for 400 Auric cells, you just need to make sure to select the "head" section because it doesn't show up with full outfits.

  • @1hundredqn said:

I really hope they actually address this..

I hope Autohaven gets killswitched asap (unless it's just a coincidence and not the cause of the problem of course), I don't want to play russian roulette everytime I launch a game and I don't want to have to use other map offerings to avoid it. It just absolutely sucks that this happens during the event...

  • This seems to be problem for all Epic users who get sent to autohaven, there's an active discussion about this here: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/380174/corrupt-data-found-since-7-0-1#latest

  • @Mandy said:

Can you please try to force close the EGS Launcher and then restart?

so not just close the game

I did that, relaunched and went into custom game. Launched a game on Ormond and it worked, launched a game on Autohaven and it crashed again.

  • I think this is the first event i start off by playing killer and i absolutely recommend it because it's been lots of fun for me :) I play the game normally but stop hooking survivors who are on death hook so everyone gets their rewards and so far everyone's been wholesome and happy both in game and in post game chat.

The only thing I'm having problem with is invitation interactions that are a bit clunky and sometimes make my FPS drop.

What the hell is with this event and this particular achievement?

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/JGG9EW0GH1HO/image.png

I collected a lot of invitations and pressed Q in a chase for damn 20 times and got some effect I don't even know what it's doing and the challenge isn't completed, #########

Have you checked your controls in the parameters? It wasn't working for me so I changed the key binding and now it's fine.

  • Just happened to me as well.

I'm on PC - Epic, playing killer (Singularity) on the new map

  • It depends on so many things I'm not sure it's comparable tbh. If an insta-down is part of a killer's basekit it's surely less impactful than an insta-heal, but if the insta-down comes from a perk or add-on it's more complicated. Considering an insta-heal is "just" a health state while an insta-down basically guarantees a hook state I'd say insta-downs are more impactful, but even then it's a stretch, I just don't think they're equivalent.

  • I'm so hyped up! I just have to dress everyone up for the event and I'll be ready :)

  • I spent it all already on the latest chapter... I didn't know people saved so much for offerings, I rarely use them after the event is over so I'll be able to buy more than enough with what I earn during the event itself.

We're not sure. My wife took a break from the game and recently starting playing again in 6.7.0 just before the Singularity came out. I kind of forgot about it until I saw the 7.0.0 notes and remembered that was a thing.

I wish I could figure out how to turn it on because I like to swap characters often and the mini-perk preview is wonderful! (Not sure why it's tied to Anonymous Mode in any way though.)

The anonymous thing would make sense if the preview was visible by your teammates, but considering that's most definitely not the case this is quite weird indeed. I'll try to figure it out tomorrow and report here if no one shows up with an answer in the mean time ^^

  • I never even knew this was a thing but I've never turned the anonymous mode on ?

Since when does this exists I'm quite confused

  • No it was indeed a bug. You need to be healthy to use FTP because you basically trade a health state.

Although the heal is instantaneous you're healthy when you're healing with FTP, so you shouldn't get the endurance effect from MFT that only applies when you heal while injured.

  • I wonder if the Wesker invasion is a server thing, I'm in EU servers and don't encounter him that much tbh. He's one of the more popular killers but I don't see him nearly as much as many people seem to do.

You are suggesting a build which will get destroyed 1min into the match leaving me with nothing.

And I can build up all the pressure I want when 3 gens Pop after I found someone and ended the chase. And yes Lethal or corrupt exist but these won't help me much if survivors smash out gens with prove and use MFT to get long chases...

I could camp and tunnel but I hate this playstyle. And I hope it will be gone someday.

I am a Survivor Main. I just pointed out a potential problem. WOO is fine, it just shows how dumb the pallet spawns are.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3460507#Comment_3460507

They said the same about Noed and it got nerfed.

NOED and adrenaline are very different in the fact that Adrenaline rewards survivors for completing their objectives whereas NOED rewards killers for uh well, losing.

Adrenaline is a risk & reward perk (risk a useless perk slot to get a reward if you complete your objective) while NOED is a second chance perk that offers the killer a chance to make a comeback.

These two things are simply not comparable, NOED is stupid because it was (and still is tbh) a strong perk that activates upon your opponents basically beating you. If adrenaline activated after the killer gets a certain number of kills / hooks it would also be stupid, just like NOED would be fine if it was a perk that rewards you (basically Devour Hope, which no one has a problem with).

  • Wesker refusing to be and remain kill-switched is just hilarious to me

  • @JonOzzie16 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3460464#Comment_3460464

All I'm saying is that if survivors feel they need these two perks at that high of a rate, there's no way this game is balanced.

Yes, I agree that buffing useless perks would be a better idea than nerfing others. But they don't seem interested in doing that.

I am genuinely so confused as to how you came to the conclusion that people using Adrenaline & WoO a lot means 'there's no way the game is balanced', like this really does not make any sense to me.

If anything the fact that an aura reading perk and a perk that you're not guaranteed any value from have such high pick rates should just tell you that survivors don't have much viable choices to pick from.

  • @JonOzzie16 said:

When a perk has that high of a pick rate, it's unbalanced. I'd be okay with it being nerfed a bit or reworked. I think it should not activate if you're healthy, not wake you up from the dream world, and take 10 seconds to heal you.

Same with windows, reduce the range to 24 meters. It's so easy to chain vaults with it at 32 meters.

That's just so silly. There's like 20 perks worth bringing in this whole game and your solution is to nerf everything to the ground (because of course when you nerf the best perk people will use the second best and so on) until everything is so bad it doesn't matter what you bring rather than idk buff useless perks and make good ones instead ?

Adrenaline has always been fine and people just started complaining because they basically don't like survivor having perks and WoO is literally just an aura reading perk.

  • Adrenaline is a one use only perk and you need to survive until endgame with just 3 perks to get value out of it.

Literally just adding the "if you're not exhausted" condition would render if absolutely useless outside of builds without exhaustion perks (which are basically nonexistent), and even without it all your other ideas are basically worse versions of already existing perks / items, or simply not worth it because, again, it's a one use only perk that only activates once you've completed your objective, so of course its effect needs to be strong.

It's not because a perk is popular that we need to kill it (mostly when it's been in this state for so long but no one complained about it until recently)

  • Eh, as much I as despise going against SM, it doesn't really feel fair to decide my fun matters more than whoever enjoys playing her. It's not like I encounter her much anyways, so I'll just grind my teeth when I do (and probably get a bunch of BPs for it)

  • I don't mind the challenges themselves, it's just that sometimes it absolutely sucks in solo queue. Some players just do the challenges and nothing else, I remember a time it wasn't rare to encounter survivors just AFKing at pallets to do stun challenges. And although that's a player issue more than a challenge issue, it sucks to have a solo q teammate lose the game for the team to get a challenge done even if they're trying their best, and it sucks even more if you have a challenge equipped where you need to escape.

There is always hoping for a new season of Stranger Things to come out and Netflix wanting some quick cash... especially after the recent crackdown on account sharing, they will likely look for big advertisement opportunities...

Maybe if bhvr wait for the opportune moment to strike with a deal... I'm hopeful too. Demo looks pretty fun, and Steve and Nancy are both cool characters.

Sales would explode if they got an Eddie Survivor... like it's scary to think about that money train xD

Same lmao I'm just hoping Netflix will get greedy again so there's a chance we can get Robin, Eddie & Vecna, or at least so players who started playing after ST got removed can get the chapter. Even if I don't get anything new I'd be very happy to encounter more Demogorgons.

  • I think the event will last long enough that there's a good chance Wesker will be playable before it ends tbh, but if he isn't this might be a good idea

  • Honestly I don't understand why they wanted to make it public in the first place, literally just feels like they didn't want to change the layout so they added prestige emblems to fill the void left by ranks...

Showing prestige doesn't bring anything to the game besides relentless dodging, in-game harrasment and skewed feedback about MMR / SBMM based solely on a shiny number.

I hope they finally decide to get rid of it soon, but if they don't P100 characters will become common soon enough that you won't be mocked for it anymore (hopefully)

  • I fail to see how a Nurse would struggle on the Game (or uh any map that isn't absolutely huge lol) ?

Also, maybe it's an unpopular opinion but I don't mind going on it as killer unless I'm playing trapper. Like, it's really not that bad for me? I also don't mind Lery's but it's probably because I don't usually play the killers that particularly struggle on it.

Does everyone really hates the Game ? I'd take it over Garden Of Joy, Borgo, Temple of Purgation, Badham and probably some others I'm forgetting any day.

  • Pallet vaccum wasn't an intended mechanic, which is why it was removed (although I'm not sure it's 100% gone tbh). Pallets are still as good as ever, unless you're facing a killer that doesn't care about them, but in this case even buffing pallets wouldn't change anything.

Considering you started playing a week ago it's normal you feel there aren't enough pallets, because you and / or your teammates are probably dropping all of them immediately instead of looping them. If you want to learn how to loop better and save pallets longer you can use Windows of Opportunity (Kate Denson perk) that will make you see where windows & pallets are, or you could even bring Any Means Necessary (Yui Kimura perk), which will allow you to reset dropped pallets when the killer doesn't break them.

  • I already posted about the same thing so here's the link for answers (long story short it's an Epic thing and we can't do anything about it): https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/378928/unable-to-unlock-gabriel-somas-adept#latest

I'm pretty sure it's intended. They just didn't mention it anywhere in his power description. Because it's a completely fine bonus to have to incentivise infecting multiple people.

Even if it's absolutely fine and intended it should absolutely be mentionned in the power's description, it's really weird to leave an entire mechanic out of the explanation on how a killer works. Honestly I don't think it was intended, otherwise it would have been written, but if BHVR decides to leave it in they should definitely mention it in the power's description.

No it is a bug, yeah they did make a change to the way items work. They categorised everything into 3 groups; survivor, special and temporary.

Special items you can carry while holding a survivor item. The special items are ones related to killers like the lament or tapes. Survivor items are like toolboxes, firecrackers and flash bangs I assume are in that too.

Im guessing there’s a bug that accidently put flash bang in the special category.

Nope, it's a temporary item because survivors don't keep them even if they escape with it.

    IMG_20230618_095857.jpg

And I'm fairly certain it's intended for survivors to carry both an item and a flashbang at the same time considering not having to drop your item to make one was in the patch notes

The only thing I don't like is that it hides the flashbang, yet you can throw it down. I'm fine with holding two items, but just not exactly with a hidden flash that someone can just run up and flash you with.

I didn't pay attention to that, I understand that it has to be hidden if you're carrying an other item but is it still hidden when you don't have one ? If so I agree a survivors without an item should definitely be visibly holding the flashbang, it'd be weird it they didn't.

  • @Perpendicular said:

Seems like a bug not a buff

Its not a bug! I don't have a link or screenshot ready but if you check the last update's patch notes there's a whole update on how items work.

I don't remember exactly how it's explained but basically you can carry temporary items (flashbangs, EMPs and other killer items, white glyphs) as the same time as a regular items (medkits, flashlights...)

    @JackOfTrades said:

    Here is the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tloatiTdVTo

What is everyone's opinions on this Flashbang buff?

Honestly I think it's a nice buff, it was quite annoying that using a perk basically stopped you from bringing an item and I don't think it's going to make flashbangs OP. The whole item system changes are nice, I'm particularly happy because it was very tedious to have to put down your item, pick up and use a killer item and then pick your item back up again.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3456858#Comment_3456858

I am not a big fun of bloodlust, but it only helps to the weakest killers. I don't even remember i have bloodlust in my games, because every killer i play (besides Oni) need to use his power, so no bloodlust.

Even with the weakest killers u just drop good pallet to cancel killer's bloodlust, it's not hard. So even bloodlust have conditions and limits.

If they will buff all killers at least to Demo / Slinger / Pinhead level and make all maps balanced, you can remove bloodlust, i won't even notice it. Unless window into pallet into window into pallet into another pallet into window exist, it's not even a question. Indirectly speaking, bloodblust is the recognition of developers in their own inexperience.

And yeah "one stupid thing exists, so other stupid things must exists too" isn't a good argument.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to say "BL exists so MFT is fine", I was just trying to imply that this particular point was bad considering "rewarding losing" is common enough that it was made into a basekit mechanic (and yes I know what it was made for but considering BHVR has been reworking maps but still buffed BL and have no intention of deleting it it's clearly not just a tool against infinites anymore).

Anyways, most perks aren't here to reward people who play well; not to mention perks that have conditions are usually not worth bringing; and second chance perks that 'reward losing' are quite common (from NOED to the survivor perks that give you buffs when your teammates die...), so I don't believe getting a buff when you're injured is a problem. More conditions would probably make MFT unusable, so I don't think that's the thing a possible nerf should target.

  • Considering no hook perk (for both survivors & killers) activates with the cages it's safe to assume it's intended and not a bug. I do agree it sucks though.

  • No, being injured is not your merit, this is your fault. The killer played better than you and you were injured. Imagine being rewarded for it.

It's not like killers have a basekit mechanic that rewards them with a speed boost when they can't catch a survivor in 15 seconds, or that the longer the survivor beats them the more haste the killer gains...

  • I'm not sure but i think it's something like this:

    1 minute / 5 minutes / 10 minutes / 15 minutes / 30 minutes / 1 hour / 6 hours / 12 hours / 24 hours / 48 hours / 72 hours

And you lose a step every 24h hours.

I'm not certain about the existence of the 10 minutes & 6 hours one tbh, I've never gotten more than 5 min haha

I'm happy for you that you get masks for all your favourite survivors.

I like Feng and Nea but I don't play them much

I'm Jill , Kate and Thalita main and they get nothing :(

I'm pretty sure Kate is in the top 5 OG survivors who get the most cosmetics, so hopefully she and Thalita will get it next year ! As for Jill, I feel your pain haha I love Rebecca & her but can't afford their cosmetics :'( I wish licenced characters would get some free event cosmetics as well but I imagine it'd be too complicated for BHVR to ask for every licence every time. Ghostface getting one gives me some hope but I believe it's because he's a special case licence wise.

  • Yui, Zarina & Feng Min all have one (or will soon), I just need Jake and all my faves will have one :D

I'm just a bit sad we have to wait a year in between batches, and considering there's a lot of new survivors every year it seems like we'll have to wait a long time for some survivors. I just hope BHVR doesn't change their minds about the Masquerade and change the event entirely before we get masks for everyone (because they're very cool and I want them all)

  • I don't doubt it, changes & hotfixes happen quite fast now so I'm not too worried ^^ and even if Larry somehow becomes too strong I'll still be happy to see him more haha

  • I'm glad EMPs are getting nerfed but only 4 crates per map sounds a bit scary on top of everything else tbh, we'll see when it's implemented ig.
