I just finished a game with a cheater, but I don't know which one was cheating. I walked away from a gen with 0 progress, and less than 15 seconds later, it was finished. No idea who finished it. Do you report all of the survivors in the game?
I feel like if I reported every cheater or strongly suspected cheater I played against, I would be spending almost as much time editing and uploading videos as playing DBD. In higher MMR, you're seeing them every several games.
Even if all of the reports get banned, which I doubt they are, it doesn't seem like that big of deal to cheaters. You can buy a key for what, like $4.99? I don't like cheaters and want them banned, but spending so much time for no real benefit seems like a waste of my time.
It's easy to point the finger and blame BHVR for not caring or doing anything, but I think they just don't have a solution. With an anti-cheat system that can't detect cheats and an account you can replace for a few dollars, I don't see how this is going to improve. It's definitely way worse now than it's ever been.
-
I had 3 games in a row last night, too.
Awaiting a mod to post the link to report cheaters and tell us they will be investigated and taken care of.
-
In the last 24 hours, I've played probably 15 killer games and have run into 3 super obvious cheaters and 3-4 who I have a very high suspicion had their speed dialed up a few percent.

BBQ, Pop, Surge, Thrilling is a nice build. Thrilling helps show you where to place your pop since BBQ is not always consistent. If you’re using thrilling, you could consider switching bbq out for a different one or keep both in, as they work a little different. My buddy used this build and had the highest win percent I’ve ever heard of with legion.
-
Looks like lots of updates but still no love for legion.

Every streamer I know who goes against someone hacking - reports them. I have only ran across 4 hackers in 5 years - and all have been reported. I am in a Discord of approx 200 streamers - Affiliates/Partners - most of whom play DBD. The consensus of the group is that failing to report is basically condoning such behavior. Any creator in the group who fails to report hacking in a game (any game) will be disallowed from the group. We believe in having integrity in gaming - and part of that is reporting cheaters. Every member of our group is an ambassador of the GLHF pledge. https://www.anykey.org/pledge
4 hackers in 5 years?? Sometimes I saw 4 in one day. You see streamers running into cheaters sometimes on a daily basis. I’m wondering if you’re just not observant enough.

This is normal. When you play a Killer for the first time, the game will base your rating on your other Killers rather than the default/lowest rating. From there, it'll adjust separately as you play. If you have a few bad matches, your rating with that Killer will lower and you'll start to get paired with Survivors that you're more comfortable with. If you're a natural with that Killer, it'll stay the same or even increase depending on how well you're doing.
Can you please provide some comments:
- Are the devs happy with the rollout of SBMM and the playerbase’s response to it?
- If not, is it possible SBMM will be disabled?

I don't remember ever getting one of those emails but I still see that the hacker still streams with the same account.
I’ve reported people and seen friends/family report people, and they were still playing months later. There’s also nothing to stop someone from just making a new account. BVHR still has no effective way to address the hoard of cheaters.
-
Legion’s glass shard looks pretty cool.
-
One of the strong killer streamers I watch talked about burnout from MMR on a recent stream and how he has been sitting afk face to the wall for a bunch of games off stream in an effort to lower his rating. Not sure how effective it’s been. Some of his games still look a little tough.

I'm currently playing Legion but more i play him, more i think that Legion is Elo Booster which shouldn't be in this game. He gives free chasing and mending points to survivors and no matter the result (kills) they get free pips. Also Legion is kinda weak and im more and more questioning myself about changing killer.
Legion is not really viable anymore. You can be a god-tier legion and only 4K 50% of your matches with MMR on now. If youre a top killer and still want to 4K most of your matches, you have to play a strong killer or use cheesy addons like pinky finger or tombstone.
-
I got excited when I saw a mod posted, thinking maybe someone would address all the complaints about SBMM. Nope. Just notice that we aren’t allowed to talk about it. Cool. Hey, at least pallet graphics got changed again.
-
Anyone who says tunneling and camping is only for low skilled players clearly has not gone on an 800-game 4K streak with mid-tier killers.
-
If you haven’t been on these forums in the last couple weeks, they’ve been full of threads complaining about MMR. A lot of people seem to hate it. I and a few friends haven’t played at all in over a week. My homie who’s a god-level killer has only played a few games. I know MMR is designed to improve retention of noob players, but I wonder how the playtime of the top 5% has changed in the last 2 weeks.
-
Reporting them doesn't seem to have much of an effect.

This is the most with time thing I’ve ever seen. I was scrolling through comments of old Blight release videos and here is a quote. “I am astounded by this design like hey, remember that COOL Halloween lore and #########? Hey look here’s a killer that’s directly based off of it. The power? Oh it’s a faster legion that bumps into walls and can’t hit unless he bumps into them and the reward for this painful power of bumping into clunky hitboxes and somehow making use of the strange speed? Yeah a single health state. This killer is disappointing in so many levels”. Or “This looks bad. The design is so cool and they had so many ways to give him a cool power but they went with “rush”? This just doesn’t look powerful or fun”.
Now Blight is a community favorite killer who is 99.9% of the time in S tier. And a power said to be very enjoyable most of the time. With a few nerf posts here and there. There were small changes here and there, but nothing that really changed the gameplay of Blight. I feel this could happen with Pinhead also. Or with future killers. That’s why patience is needed
Who is saying pinhead is weak? He seems like a potential A-tier killer. He just has a high skill cap.

Nothing is especially more frustrating is when a bad killer gets rewarded and possibly even a 4K for doing this move. Run kindred and just do generators then get out. Don't even bother going for BT plays if it's a killer with a one hit move.
Sucks for the guy on hook but if I was on that position I'll be more frustrated if the killer got even more kills that way.
Face camping doesn't mean a killer is bad. In high MMR play, the only option a killer has to possibly secure multiple killers vs a strong survivor team is to hook a survivor in the middle of a 3-gen and camp the area. If you can camp the first hook to second stage then tunnel off the hook and eliminate the person from the game, that significantly weakens them and makes the match winnable.
-
The game is not balanced at the top. Definitely strongly survivor sided.
-
SBMM ruined Apex, Fornite, CoD, and now DbD. We all already dumped a lot of money into this game. Do they really need to farm noob players for cosmetics? How much do they think this will help player retention?
-
The cheaters must be more concentrated in the high MMR bracket because I saw a lot more after SBMM went into effect. It makes you wonder how many others are using slight run speed hacks that aren’t as noticeable. I played a whole match with a hacker and didn’t realize it until the end. Tons of people could be running wall hacks and slight buffs that we will never know. Too bad there is nothing in place to do anything about this.
-
It’s not enjoyable anymore. I had played the game everyday since I got it up until SBMM. I haven’t played now in probably 5 days. Not sure if I’ll go back to it or not. All my friends I played with quit after the change. I can’t imagine anyone enjoying the change other than brand new and low skill players.
-
SBMM is to make Dead by Daylight more enjoyable and less discouraging for new and below average players. It's not meant for the above average player. It's terrible for more experienced players, partially because the game is horribly imbalanced. Queue times are much longer now and games are much harder. It's a pain to play, but if it helps keep the masses of casual players engaged, then why would Behaviour care if they lose a small sliver of top echelon players?

how enjoyable? uninstall levels of fun
I'm getting pretty close to that. I haven't even played in two days now, which is strange, especially considering it's the weekend. @justad00d uninstalled a little earlier today and is trying to get me to find a new game to play together with him. I can't see sticking with this game in this state.
-
After getting horribly tough matches as killer, I thought I would try the survivor side out. Got matched with a brand new player with 0 hours in the game. He played legion and didn't even use his power a single time. He only got a few hits because some of the other survivors were messing with him and being silly.
-
I've only played a few games today, but they've all been super tough sweat fests. I had a headache after about the third game. Definitely seems much harder right now.
-
I've been told several times that I only won the match because I played Legion. I'll 4k a bunch of rank 1s on Mount Ormond, and it's because Legion is OP.
-
Steve is a better fit for Shaggy.

This is very normal unfortunately. However the first one was 100% a smurfing SWF. When matchmaking is bad, you get more variety in ranks than that. They put a lower rank in their lobby to get matched with a lower rank killer.
Smurfing SWFs are super lame. I played against a rank 19 meg last night with <20 hours of gameplay who was by far the best on the team + three rank 2-3 teammates. I'm guessing Meg was really a rank 1 trying to prey on low ranked killers and carry his friends to rank 1 with a fake account. I usually try to punish these teams if I can via tunneling or slugging and letting them all bleed out.

And...this person was actually serious?
I was told last night that I only beat this SWF on Gas Heaven because I was playing Legion.

This is the wrong Feng. This is the correct pronunciation:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3fDz_2bF_4 -
I always assumed Feng Min was her first name, but now I think of it, no, that doesn't seem to go with the trend of listing the survivor's full names. Neither Feng nor Min are not super common surnames, but looking at her Chinese DBD Wiki page, it seems Feng is her surname.
Funny that the English Wiki lists her alt name as essentially the exact same Feng Min but written in Chinese characters, but the Chinese page lists her alt name as Min Min, which seems like a typical nickname.

Got it for the first time an hour ago.

How does this comment have any vote ups? It’s literally saying racism is fine, and that killers can do whatever they want.
Racism is not cool, but just saying there seems to be a bit of selective outrage. Multitudes of kids have been making toxic, racist, and threatening comments in the after-game chat for years. That's where the real problematic harassment is. There are probably hundreds (maybe thousands) of threads here in this forum about it with people begging Behavior to do something. Did DBD make a Twitter post warning people not to be toxic in chat or face a ban? If no, why not? Just an example of the double standard that seems to decry harassment by some but gives others a free pass.
-
Pretty common stuff.
-
Are killers going to get banned if they say they tunneled Jane because she's fat or Feng because she has coronavirus? Seems kind of silly. Killers should be able to kill players for whatever reasons they like.

I tried to main pig for a bit but found her a little boring. If you want BBQ, you could run that, pop; STBFL, and maybe ruin or something else. I think that would be a pretty strong build. I tried running an old build I sometime ran on spirit of devour, ruin, undying, and thrill. I think that was pretty strong and super fun. I strongly disliked Scorpionz’s build.
I've never seen a pig run devour, ruin, undying, and thrill, but I played against two today with that build. Maybe they saw your post.

LOL, its a charm. JUST a charm, this game have a kpop idol killer, a elephant clown skin, a santa claus skin and even a dwelf skin. Why is a rainbow charm flag so problematic?
There is no political stuff getting throwed at their face, its just a charm
It's not that hard to understand. Anytime you are going to introduce something that is considered controversial or offensive to a large group, you have to expect people will show up with strong opinions about it. Not that I am religious or find it offensive in the least bit, but a good part of the country has very strong beliefs against homosexuality due to their church's teachings and upbringing, and so it's understandable that they would not be happy seeing it brought in and celebrated in a video game they play. Again, I don't share these opinions. Neither does Justad00d. But everyone should have seen this coming.

If I ever face a streamer I do usually check them out to see their vod and watch the game through their eyes. I find it pretty entertaining and interesting way to learn to improve my killer. But I usually hear them say silly stuff like this....
One game before anyone was even hooked. I started chasing the first person I saw they called me a tunneller and a lil #########
Another game I had everyone at 2 hooks, I started chasing someone and they called me a tunneller and a lil #########
I played a TTV SWF group with 3 streamers two days ago. Hooked them all 2x each before I started killing anyone, and they called me a tunneler repeatedly on stream and in after game chat. Dummies.

Oh 100%. Most survivors are potatoes, and even though I'm rank 1, I haven't gotten a skilled team in months. It's quite sad, really.
And I never said that I don't run slowdown. I said I don't run an entire build revolving around it. I run corrupt, and that's all I need.
You must either play at odd hours or be the most skilled killer in the world. You should start a Youtube channel. You'll be bigger than Otzdarva and Dowsey combined.

Not a story, just my playstyle. I'm just saying that builds completely revolving around slowdown aren't necessary to win as legion.
Yeah, not buying it. If you run no gen regression perks on legion and never ever lose a game, then you are playing potato survivors.
-
Over 30 minutes now. Guess I'll just give up for tonight.
-
God I just queued up with 2 ppl and have been waiting over 20 minutes now. Maybe I should just go back to killer.
-
Another common thing some SWFs will do after rank reset is take turns playing a new rank 20 account so the group has a chance getting paired with lower ranked killers for easier wins.
-
It's mostly at red ranks. Typically scenario is forced tunneling by a survivor or you hooking them in the middle of your last 3 gen that you're defending. That makes you a horrible killer, a tunneler, and a camper. I guess you're supposed to run to the opposite side of the map and let them unhook and finish the last gen or something.
-
There are several killers who making looping difficult. Freddy and Clown slow survivors down in loops to get hits. You can mind game people with Spirit. Doctor can block vaults. And Nurse just flies through walls and pallets. These might be the strongest anti-loopers off the top of my head. Then there are a few more who have skills that can hit people when they loop or are on the other side of windows/pallets (Huntress, Deathslinger, PH).
-
I had a super weird experience. I loaded into a game, found the first group of survivors, chased one, downed one, picked him up and was carrying the player to the hook, and then got the message Entity Displeased. Then it said game was cancelled because someone disconnected during the loading screen. Never had that happen before.

Those are like once every 20 games at Rank 1. They're so rare they're not even worth talking about.
I just went back over my last 200 games and wrote out some stats. I would say this is not too far off IMO. I had 0ks in 5% of the matches during prime time hours, and half of these matches were super close with 2 hooks each and usually on hard maps. I would say maybe 2-3% of the matches at rank 1 just felt unwinnable. I've been playing Legion for reference, so maybe winnable with a stronger killer or if played by more skilled hands.
-
What if BHVR designers are like South Park writers, and they create their content a few days before it's due to release? Maybe BHVR doesn't even know who the new killer is yet. They could be pulling an all-nighter tonight reading through ideas posted on this forum.
-
Are they actually banning cheaters? I submitted a video over 2 weeks ago now, and the guy is still playing.
-
What's way worse than this are survivors who hide for 30+ minutes on Blackwater Swamp with no intent of doing anything else but causing grief. I played a match earlier where two survivors didn't do anything the entire match. After their teammates died, they continued to hide in lockers and grass until they were finally found many moons later.
