Okay you play killer right. Go to killer and you’ll notice he has a power. Now I want you to go to survivor and then look what the power slot is replaced with. Yea. It’s replaced with items. Items make a big difference but y’all can put a stop to that with ONE perk.
So? What's your point? That Killers should not use perks because 'it stops Survivors items!'?
Or is this another 'But MY FUN!' whine in disguise? Guess what? If the Killer kills you; you lose the item! Should the Killer not kill you, because it's toxic now? Because 'my fun!'

Yup.
Now go back and notice there are 4 survivors.
And 1 killer.
Also; this.
-
Wrong. I never said the Survivor things needed changing. I was making an example as to why Survivors get good things but the second a Killer has effective add-ons, someone cries.
-
Oh yes, let's nerf perks people think are 'crutch' and make every Killer as hard as possible to play. Which Survivors get 16 meta perks, purple toolboxes, and easy matches against Killers with no viable add-ons. 🤡
What makes the combos 'broken'? The fact that they are useful? Or just because someone says so? Because looking at the add-ons; they looks USEFUL, not 'broken'.
-
Combating cheating, and cheating, are an always escalating arms race.
You have to be as vague as possible when announcing 'we are fixing it', because the more details cheaters have, the easier they can counter your fixes.

Cool, that's not my argument.
The counterplay to NOED (doing ALL 5 totems) is nearly impossible to do if you aren't in a 4-man and if you are, far too easy.
I'm literally proving this as we speak via an experiment.
Ok? The answer to that is not to change NoED so it can't do it's job anymore. It's a problem with the power SWFs have.
Hence why I keep saying BHVR should swallow their damn pride & add voice comms to the game, so SoloQ has the same benefits as an SWV, and then balance around that.
Changing NoED, which would kill it, is not the answer.
-
No. The last thing Survivors need is teammates spending 40 seconds in a locker to gain 4 stacks if Distort.

Oh yeah, Circle of Healing is kind of busted. I’ll be surprised if it isn’t eventually nerfed
'Eventually' is the key word. Maybe in 2 years, once her DLC stops raking in the bucks for having such a busted perk. 🧐

That's legitimately asking Solo Q and Duo's to throw the game on a chance that a perk exists.
No. Not fair at all.
Likewise, I do not believe completely preventing a perk from activating is good either.
I'd rather see NOED changed into something more healthy.
Why do people not understand that NoED has to exist as it does? Let me try to explain:
If NoED was changed, then it would fail it's role as an unseen threat. The point of NoED is to make Survivors stop pounding gens like they were drinks during last call. If Survivors knew, from the get-go, if NoED was not in the match? Considering NO OTHER PERK does what it does?
They would pound gens and be out the door in 4 minutes. Because there would be literally no perk to stop them, aside from Ruin, which they would know about by tapping a gen. In fact, some of the streamers I used to watch would actually tap a gen to check sparks before committing to a repair, when a match started.
They would know 'I can ignore totems and pound gens' if NoED had a tell. Or was not the massive threat it is after gens pop. And that means that one perks that protects a totem? Useless; Survivors now know if NoED is in a match from the word 'Go'. No NoED? No whatever that perk is, because Survivors won't do totems without the ever-present threat of NoED.
If NoED had a designated totem pre-endgame? And TOLD Survivors it was cleansed? Stop doing bones, and start pounding gens! NoED is gone! There's literally 0 Hex threats for the endgame, so let's pound gens and twerk out the gate now!
Because if NoED was NOT a big threat? if NoED had a tell from 'Go'? Survivors would never do totems in games without NoED, because the BP ain't worth being caught and dying. They would just do gens and leave. Every match.
It's like some people go 'NoED threatens me by existing. Which makes me do bones. But I want to do gens & leave ASAP. So change NoED!' And don't realize NoED is doing EXACTLY what it's meant to do; force Survivors to do bones.
So no; NoED CANNOT be changed, nerfed, altered, or given a pre-endgame tell. This would ruin the role it's supposed to fill, and gen speeds would get, if that's even possible, faster. Because no other perk fills that 'unknown threat' role like NoED.
And the moment one DID; Survivors would, once again, scream it's unfair and demand it be changed because it stops them from doing gens at breakneck speed.

No it’s not toxic. It’s just a perk. It’s literally in the game because the devs want players to use it.

Victor cannot go more than 10 meters from Charlotte without insta-dying. There will be no indication of the range, so Killers will need to figure it out themselves.
Also, if Victor does go too far & dies; Charlotte will be stunned until 2 gens pop, so feel free to 99% every gen! If there is only 1 gen left or all gens have been popped; there will be a bug where she just stays stunned for the rest of the match. This bug will not be mentioned or fixed for at least 2 years.
-
Survivors Running META Perks On All 4 & Purple Toolkits To Bang Gens ASAP, While In A 4-Man SWF: NoED is unfair because I don't want to get off my gens & do bones. Why can't I just counter it on 1 totem before it ever pops?
Just. Do. Bones. NoED is fine. It's a perk that does not activate until the gates are powered, so it needs to stay hidden until the gates are powered.
Asking for it to be nerfed because 'SoloQ's don't get the information SWFs have' is 1) Screwing Killers because SWF and 2) Making SWFs stronger. No.
Just. do. Bones.

@RekLaw said:
At first you may think no, how could it be it’s a perk that the devs put in for a reason. However it ruins an outlet for fun for the survivors and is very much not enjoyable for them.
So? I'm their OPPONENT; my goal is to win. Why do I care if they don't like my perks?
I don't like DH or BT or DS, but I don't call them 'toxic' for preventing me from winning.
-
NoED would be useless if it was active on one totem or visible the entire match.
I mean, come on; how would it be at all useful if Survivors could find it and cleanse it before it ever turned on because it said 'HERE I AM! MAKE SURE YOU CLEANSE ME BEFORE DOING THE LAST GEN'.
It's clear the people asking for such a change have no idea how game balance works. You have to cleanse all 5 totems or wait until it activates because it's not active before the last gen pops. It would be a trash perk if it existed on 1 totem & could be cleansed in 5 seconds, when it does not activate until end game.
Survivors need to stop complaining about NoED. It's fair. It's an end game perk. It does not 'reward failure' or any other half-baked excuse Survivors invent.
It's not active the entire match and, if you could see which totem it's on before end game; it would be useless. It would NEVER see the end of the match except in fringe cases with bad totem placement.
I don't care if people don't want to accept 'Just do bones' as the way to counter it, because that's how you counter it. Saying 'I don't want to hear that' does not invalidate it as the counter.
Stop being lazy and asking for garbage nerfs to a perk that's fine. Just do bones.
Edit: Fixed for typos.

@AngyKiller And what you're doing is disregarding this on the basis that it's "on paper".
On paper, if I throw a ball up in the air, I would expect it to come down. I don't need to actually go and do it to know what's going to happen, because I know the rules and conditions that determine what it's going to do. I know that gravity will cause the ball to decelerate and fall to the ground.
The exact same thing is true here. I know that artist's power can quickly and easily force people to let go of generators from anywhere on the map. I also know that artist can get fast downs. Ergo, I know for a fact that in its current state, Dead Man's Switch on this killer will be broken, unless the perk is tweaked. The whole point of this post is to get that to happen.
You're right, I am disregarding it because, on paper, you're ignoring literally every outside factor to cry chicken little.
There are too many factors in-game to see how two powers will interact. Your theory:
- Ignores the skills of the Killer, which includes aiming through walls across the map
- The size of the maps. Which means the birds may have to fly farther and thus, aim being off by 1 inch can mean a miss over 500 meters whereas it would be a hit at 5 meters. Also; the Killer's ability to GET to the Survivors if they are across a large map.
- What other perks the Killer is using. IE: BBQ could give them great situational awareness, but only if they're using it.
- What perks the Survivors are using.
- The skill of the Survivors. If they know the Killer has Dead Man's, they then know to release gens BEFORE the hooking. Hell, some Survivors can keep a running count in their heads nad know if it's safe to let go for the final few seconds, or when it's safe to go back if they previously let go.
To use your ball analogy; You know the ball will fall straight down...While ignoring that there's someone nearby who might hit it, so it falls to your left. Or that you're doing it on a very windy day, with sporadic wind gusts of 35 MPH that may push the ball around.
Instead, you're ignoring every single other factor in the scenario to say 'This ball will fall straight down, and you can't tell me otherwise'.

The report button descriptions are a source of a lot of confusion and false reports just because they're very vague.
The amount of times where I've seen someone go on about how bodyblocking is totally bannable and they point to the report dialog description as proof is... way too high. Because that one doesn't mention that the only bannable bodyblocking is to straight up block someone in a corner and keeping them there.
Oh, derp. I assumed they meant 'body blocking' with BT, not 'I trap you' body blocking, given how they also thought camping & slugging were reportable.

maybe the report function is different on pc, but for the dbd (special edition) it says for griefing, not playing correctly, or unsportsmanship.
And camping/tunneling & bodyblocking are not considered griefing, not playing correctly, or unsportsmanship behavior.
You deciding they were does not mean they were. Again; when you try to report for those things, it explicitly what is not reportable, and I'm pretty sure camping/tunneling & bodyblocking are on the 'Do not report' blurb when you make a report.

cuz the killer can't do anything about it.
And the survivor can't be unhooked at all
So? That does not make it against the rules, so why would they ban for it?
You did not apply any logic to that chain, no offense. The devs have a pretty clear set of what can be banned or reported for, and never once did they put Camping, tunneling, or body blocking on that list.
Again, to use CoD; I can't shoot back if someone shoots me with a shotgun (hence the term 'Noob Tube'; no aim needed, free kill. I believe it also applies to grenade launchers), but I can't report people for using it, because it's a tactic to get in close and use it because it works.
Like body blocking and camping/tunneling; they are tactics that work, so 'the other side' hates them, because they lose because of said tactics. But not once were they listed as bannable. I'm even sure the report function says they ARE NOT quite clearly.
-
@AstroLive8333 said:

I thought that if enough people reported someone for tunneling they would actually do something. Or if enough killers reported someone for body blocking
Why? Body blocking and camping/tunneling are not exploits or cheating. Why would the devs ban for it?
That would be like expecting the devs to ban people reported for 'They shot me with a shotgun' in Call Of Duty.
-
Did...did you actually think the devs banned for valid tactics just because a few Survivors get angry they lost?
-
Survivors: Killers should play off meta! Think of our fun!
Also Survivors: Oh, this perk combo is OP! No, I don't want to wait to see it in action before making a conclusion. Just change it now.
Seriously; why not wait to see it in action before you assume it's OP? This is at least the 3rd thread I have seen complaining about this before anyone can TRY IT. Jeeze.
People just complaining 'Ink Lady + DMS = OP.' Without taking into account: Killer skill. Survivor Skill. Other Killer perks. Survivor perks. Maps. Etc.
They just threw these two things into a vacuum and assume 'This is how it will work. Time to complain!'
-
How about we wait to try it before we scream something is OP? No? Just assume and hope the devs balance around some rando's theory crafting?

So you basically admit that there’s nothing you can. And it’s so bad that even while playing a computer game, you need another screen to keep you occupied because being camped means you don’t get to play the game.
You have just proven my point.
Being hooked is part of the game, buttercup.
@Impartiality said:

If a game was made properly then you wouldn’t need two screens as that game keeps you occupied as it should do. Also not everyone can afford to have another screen.
Its not even just the person on hook that suffers, the whole game suffers and basically can’t do anything fun. It’s the same as playing against an AFK farmer.
And no teammates can’t do anything against a camping bubba and you’re just lying or bad at the game if you think there is. Also end game and stuff is fine but a lot of killers aren’t doing it for a reason, they are just doing it because they are narcissistic and enjoy making others suffer.
Also end game and stuff is fine but a lot of killers aren’t doing it for a reason, they are just doing it because they are narcissistic and enjoy making others suffer.
So camping is okay so long as Survivors don't feel offended, because if they feel offended; clearly, the Killer only did it to make them suffer.
Or are you saying you can sense people's intent through the internet? Because I don't think it's the Killers being narcissistic, at that point.

No, but it LOOKS like BHVR is doing something while they do next to nothing. So it's what they will do. 😇

Killers get nerfed specifically to give survivors stronger 1v1 performance, despite the base game being 1v4. So why not? Just make the whole game 1v1 and have the generators repair themselves. That's basically what most games turn into anyway.
Oh god, don't say 'have the generators repair themselves'; you might give the devs the idea for a Boon perk that is the opposite of Ruin.
And because it's a Boon, it will totally counter Ruin just by existing, and can be replaced infinitely. 😁

Call of duty zombie games are about how many rounds you can go through... and always die ultimately. So i think a 1v1 mode where the survivor has to survive a chase for as long as possible could be interesting. I'm not talking about doing 5 gens and trying to leave, i'm talking about putting survivor and killer right next to each other when they spawn... and put on a timer to see how much time the survivor can last.
Fair enough.
-
It...would end the second the Killer hooked you, and you'd have no chance to get away once the Killer found you.
Basically, once the Killer finds you; you lose. And the game is not really, at this point in time, made for hiding. Once the Killer finds 1 gen being worked on; he either sees your scratchmarks, or knows you're hiding within 30 feet. Game over.
-
It's because they flat out refuse to admit they were wrong when they claimed voice chat is not what makes SWF so strong.
Remember; it took them YEARS before they admitted the Phase 2 Hook button-mashing was a flaw, simply because they put it in the game. Even when someone said in a Q&A 'This hurts because I'm disabled', the reply was 'But we created it, so we like it'.
So they refuse to admit their mistakes, refuse to add voice chat, and thus SWF continue to break the game wide open, and SoloQ's and Killers are left to be bullied.

Tombstone mechanic is so dumb.
It is incredible the devs never felt the urge to fixe tombostones.
Not to make them weaker but to make them more fair and to make them have sense.
How can a new player assume that you will avoid this perk doing a gen and letting Myers grab you?
By learning as you play? What do you want? The game with a loading screen saying 'This Myers brought Tombstone & can insta-kill. Just avoid it by hiding in lockers!'
It's not a game problem; it's just a new player not knowing something because they never faced it before. That's how facing something for the first time works; you only learn counters as you play against it.
-
Welp, they did buff Boil Over. Neat.
The effects of wiggling have been increase to 50/75/100%
And the aura blocking range for nearby hooks has been increased to a nice round 16m.
Additionally, Boil Over now has a new effect: If the Killer drops from a height while carrying you, you’ll instantly get a 25% wiggle progress bonus.

Oh wait you post history clearly states otherwise and that you cry anytime survivors have fun lol
Rofl. Imagine trawling through my post history to attack me. Just more entitled Survivor tactics when they don't get their way.
Where did I ever talk about old BNP? I was not in this forum at the time of old BNP. Or old MOM, or old DS. So yet more whiny lies from toddler Survivor mains pitching tantrums when Killers get uppity. 😂
If you had any sort of reading ability; you'd have seen my comments about genrushing are usually jokes, because genrushing does not exist; It's Survivors doing their job efficiently. I've even said, in one of my posts, that Survivors doing their goal as quickly as they can is their damn right, as is mine when I want to camp someone out because it slows down said gen speeds. But keep up that toddler-like screeching.
As for CoH; even Survivors agree healing speeds are way too over-buffed at the moment. And perk balance does not equal a tactic. But keep right on the with red-faced screaming and stomping feet and personal attacks; It just shows how entitled you are.
I said 'Entitled Survivors treat Killers like slaves if they break fake rules' and here you are; attacking me and lying about what I've said in order to put me in my place for not bowing to you and not agreeing with your trash take on camping.

Nobody is trying to put the onus of fun on the killer. They are trying to put it on BHVR to make the game more fun. They are the developers of the game and if you don’t think computer games are made for enjoyment then no wonder you have a name called angrykiller.
Just because you play the game to get some sort of power trip doesn’t mean that’s what the game was intended for. It was made for everyone to enjoy. Not for narcissistic killers to think they can just do whatever they want
Says the narcissistic Survivor thinking they can dictate how the Killer wins.
And where did I say I had a power trip? Was it the part where I said I'm not responsible for your fun? Or the part where I was implying the Killer has every right to win, so long as they do not cheat or exploit?
Oh, I guess it was the part where I did not immediately kowtow to Survivors screaming for BS rules to limit how I can win? Hence the 'Treat Killers as slaves' part of my post.
'Nobody is trying to put the onus of fun on the killer. They are trying to put it on BHVR to make the game more fun.'
So, basically 'We want BHVR to prevent the Killer from winning in ways we don't approve.'
Also; many, MANY Survivors have put the onus for 'fun' directly on the Killer. You JUST did it as well by saying I was 'ruining your game' if I camped. IE: I was being a bad boy by not considering your fun as I tried to win.
So you just lied, right here.
'if you don’t think computer games are made for enjoyment then no wonder you have a name called angrykiller'
Ah, the personal attacks. Man, not agreeing with your rules really pissed you off, huh?
I did not say games are not for fun, so piss off with your strawman. Try to follow this:
- I said I, as your opponent, am trying to win.
- Losing is never as fun as winning.
- Therefore, I am not considering your fun as I try to win, because if I succeed in my goal of winning; you will have less fun than if you won.
Your replies are the same entitled Survivor drek as every other entitled Survivor. Just 'You're mean for winning' and personal attacks and lies while you try to pretend I'm evil for not obeying your trash rules and how Survivors are poor little angels who are just trying to make the game better (IE: easier for themselves) with their broken AF suggestions and punishments to prevent Killers from winning.
So I think we're done here.

So you think it’s a good idea that the killer can get 2 kills by just standing still doing nothing and ruining the whole game for everyone else.
Just because it’s the only way you can get kills against decent survivors doesn’t mean it should exist. Any killer that actually has skill will get more kills without camping
Once again; a Survivor who ignores what goes into getting those 2 Kills to pretend it's a freebie.
If I'm 'standing by the hook'; How did I get my second kill? It was by the second person being stupid enough to come to the hook, knowing I'm an insta-down character, and attempting the unhook, knowing I'm nearby (Because I have this think called a 'Terror Radius', see).
But Survivors just scream 'Camping gets 2 downs!' and gloss over the 'How?' because they want to pretend I magically get an extra down with 0 skill or movement on my part as the Killer.
As for 'Ruining the game for everyone else'; That's the 'My fun is more important than you winning' mentality I literally JUST talked about.
As the Killer, my goal is TO KILL. Not to ask you if you're having fun!
It seems Survivors can run 16 META perks in a 4-man SWF plus voice comms with purple toolkits & flashlights & medkits, but a Killer CAMPED!? 'What about MY fun!?' Screams the META Survivor, while flashlight saving and healing in 3 seconds behind a predropped pallet with Circle Of OP before using his flashlight macro and telling the Killer to 'git gud'. 🙃
News flash: You don't deserve that unhook just because it's 'more fun' when you win.
If your opponent trying his best to win (without cheating or abusing exploits. And no; camping is not an exploit) ruins your 'fun'; stop playing PvP games.
This is the only PvP game I've ever played (and I'm older than the internet, so I've played most of them) where one side puts the onus for 'fun' directly on their opponent, and then treats them like a disobeying slave when they don't follow those made-up rules. it's amazing how entitled and prevalent this mindset is in DBD.

Okay why don’t we play a private game and I’ll facecamp you as bubba, show me what you would do lol
I'd stay on the hook as along as possible and watch my teammates escape while the Killer gets 1, maybe 2K, provided my teammates aren't potatoes.
ANd if the Bubba is trying to anger me with revving in my face; I laugh.
So many Survivors seem to have this weird mindset where they think 'My fun matters more', which is the excuse they use to shame Killers and scream for nerfs & punishments.
They also have this idea that Killers exist to promote Survivor fun, as if Killers are paid employees at a haunted house. They're supposed to be scary, but let Survivors go. The second one is unhappy they were camped to death, Survivors want to 'speak to the Manager' (IE: Scream at BHVR for punishments).

Then chainsaw then after they go away from the hook, if you're that desperate to camp. Or grab them off the hook...or chainsaw them before they get to the hook. You shouldn't be able to just get two free instadowns with no counterplay just by existing nearby, it's stupid.
Yes I should, if Survivors are stupid enough to go for the unhook without BT while I am nearby as a Killer with an insta-down power.
Survivors really need to stop demanding the devs hold their hands & make the game easier just because they don't want to be punished for bad plays. And yes, it's the Survivor's bad play, because they have to willingly go to a hook while knowing who the Killer is, knowing he is nearby, and attempting an unsafe unhook. Why should the Survivor get that unhook for free?
'What if I don't know who the Killer is/that he is there?' Then he out-played you and deserves the double-down.
But to some Survivors; camping is against their made up rules, and it's just a matter of time before BHVR enforces their fake rules on everyone else. 🤭
-
When will Survivors learn that you need ways to encourage Killers to not camp. Not petty BS abusable punishments because you're upset you lost.
Seriously. I saw one Survivor main claim 'camping is not a valid way to win', as if some Survivors think they can dictate how their opponents win.

Ah yes; let's give Survivors functional immunity from a Killer's power near the hook. There's no way this would be abused! 🙃

Increase its effects just generally. It wouldn't even be op if you just increased the numbers on its effects.
It already makes a Killer stagger by 75%. Much higher and you may as well change it to 'You control the Killer'.
And the hook obscuring is 14 meters (just roughly under 46 feet).
It's not a 'weak perk' in and of itself, just when compared to stronger perks. And I once again say; that's what happens when you have a laundry list of perks and a META; There has to be something on the bottom of that list.

I'm not comparing it to the meta. It's still a bottom tier perk.
It's the bottom of a list of perks, or tiers, meaning it's being compared to the other perks, which includes META. Or there would not be tiers, which implies a list scored in some way.
So I ask again; How would you boost it? It already has 2 effects, and can be powerful with struggle-boosting perks and/or teammates who sabo. What would you give it, that would not make it overloaded or OP? Saying 'Just make it better' does not really fix its problem of being 'bottom tier'. Nor does every perk deserve a boost just because it's not picked, because there will always be that META against which your tiers are scored.

boil over is pretty weak. its easy one of the weakest survivor perks
So? I mean, every perk (Killer or Survivor), power, or class in whatever game will always be measured against the META. This means there will ALWAYS be weaker perks.
It's just not possible to make this many perks META worthy. I mean, that's why there's a META in the first place; it's the Most Effective Tactic(s) Available.
Boil Over does what it does well; it slows down the Killer, and hides the Hooks. If a friend Sabo's the closest hook; you probably have a good chance of wriggling free. So I ask again; What else can it do? You can't stack 3 or 4 effects on 1 perk, and it already has 2 effects.
-
Umm, it's fine. What do you want it to do? Give you full control of where the Killer goes? Remove the 3 closest hooks? Let you wriggle free in 3 seconds?
Just because you don't want to use a perk, does not mean that perk is weak.

If you think face camping is a valid play and fun then you're literally part of the problem as to why many people complain about this game. Its not a valid play and it is not fun. It literally ruins the game for survivors and no the rest of the team should not be expected to finish the rest of the gens while the camped survivor takes one for the team. The killer should be severely punished for doing this. Face camping should screw the killer over so much that it discourages them from doing it. If that doesn't stop people from doing it, then recognize it as disrupting normal game play and start giving account penalties for it. I think if toxic killers had a nice 24 hour and stacking penalty for face camping you'd probably see a lot less of it.
Oh! oh! We can just declare something is not valid? Then I declare doing gens too fast is not valid and not fun!
As per Survivors complaining; I said it, so it's now the rules! You have to switch to a new gen every 15% or you're gen-camping and the match ends too fast and I don't have fun! Oh, and it's 'not valid', because that's apparently a legitimate argument!
So stop gen camping! 🤡

All of my friends are of the same opinion so I'm not convinced we're an exception 🤷
@Mooks also raises a very valid point. Voice comms would not necessarily translate to better coordination because of language barriers, not everyone having a microphone, not having enough bandwidth, not everyone is verbal etc.
As for region, people may all speak the same language where you are but on my street alone people speak 3 different languages. Just because it's not a problem you've encountered, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
Whatever. All I'm seeing is 'We should not add voice comms because I don't use them, and here's a thin excuse proven false by literally every team-based game in the past decade'.
All so Survivors can keep SWFing with voice comms without Killers being balanced for that one thing that literally breaks the game; voice comms.
Voice comms is at least 5 perks in one, without a perk slot, plus on-the-moment updates on the Killer. If you think this is not a huge problem, then you are in denial. And voice comms works in other co-op games, so I don't get this 'I won't work here' stance.
Just add it and balance around it, or SWF will ALWAYS be stronger than literally everything else.
