Do you mean you have to use Scourge Hooks to get the tokens and it's no longer a Hex? I'd use it.

I don't think clicking needs to go, but the macro's definitely give me headaches and I'm sure they affect people with photosensitivity concerns a lot.
Which is why clicking needs to go. You can't fix the flashing without putting some sort of limit on it.
I'm just advocating enough of a pause to stymie macro-jerks without screwing over Survivors trying to save. Hence why my time suggestions were less than a second. :)

Why not just remove the clicking sound effect?
The clicking sound is annoying, but it's the rapidly-flashing light that can cause headaches and seizures.
-
Wait. So you're saying 'No' it should not be limited?
And your reasoning is BECAUSE they're being toxic?
Either way; who cares? This could ######### with people with literal disabilities. It should be changed.
-
Killers should be able to tip Generators over. This would make them impossible to repair, as every Survivor has weak, noodly arms & can't pick them back up.
-
Does distortion really need some way to recharge tokens? I mean, I'm pretty sure it's not meant to give you infinite aura-reading-dodging, or that's what they would have done when they updated it.
-
There's no point in countering your suggestions because the points have already been countered before.
What's worse; The '8 meters' thing was, literally, tried in game. Your whole idea was.
Replace 'Gets a free BS, unearned unhook' with 'Struggle Meter Drains Slower' and tinker with the '8 meters'; It may have been closer or further away.
But the mechanics were THE SAME. And Survivors abused it.
This is not a theoretical. This is not 'what if' or 'They might do this'. SURVIVORS ACTUALLY ALREADY ABUSED IT.
I'm not making up a scenario that MIGHT happen for you to disprove. Whatever you say about 'It can't be abused'; you're wrong.
Because it already was. In the game. And abused.
BHVR tried a 'If the Killer stays too close to the hook' punishment, which is what yours is, and Survivors abused the HELL out of it for free unhooks.
So I don't care what counter-arguments you have; History has already shown 'Proximity camping punishments' don't work. Because Survivors find a loophole, and abused them.
Because they already did.

Okay let's break this down simply so even you can understand. 1. I play killer 98% of the time. So your little us vs them stuff doesn't really concern me. I'm only interested in the health of the game.
2. If they run into range then the affect doesn't activate and that person goes to the 2nd hook state anyways.
3. That's 3 people off of gens, which is more pressure than any perk can give you.
4. Survivors only get off "for free" as you put it, if you as a killer and only you are within that radius while they're hooked. Hence why I put all that other stuff in.
5. If you don't like the suggestions, on a forum of all places, maybe don't respond? Or maybe try civilization perhaps?
- Who cares who play what? That had nothing to do with my example.
- They don't run into range. They stay OUTSIDE RANGE and move forward if the Killer moves away, and moves away if the Killer moves back.
- It's 3 people off gens, until the one on the hook gets a free escape.
- And the Killer is FORCED to stay IN RANGE to protect his hook, or to commit to a chase & allow a free unhook. How you can't see this is beyond me.
- If you don't like people pointing out the flaws in your suggestions, on a forum of all places, maybe don't suggest it?
And I apologize for the snark, but your idea is literally the 'Survivor gets infinite Struggle meter' idea, only even worse.
It has the same exact flaws. It would not work. Your failsafes are easy to abuse.
Source: Back in the day; Survivors died slower if the Killer was near the hook. Survivors did literally what I just described within 24 hours of the change hitting PTB. They had it worked out on how to best abuse the punishment.
And it was removed in short order, because the KILLER should be deciding if he camps or not; not Survivors or a cheese-able mechanic.
-

Lol it's not though? Hence the, "Can only be activated if a killer is camping, and cannot be activated if another survivor is near the hook."
It's not a punishment, it's an incentive not to camp because that'd be a waste of time. But wait, you just want new perks right. Just band aid fixes instead of fixing the actual mechanics of the part of the game that killers are abusing? Weird.
Let me explain the same ######### that everyone else has over YEARS of whining.
- I hook someone.
- 2 Survivors stand outside of 8 meters in opposite directions. let's say 15 meters. Let's say they are North and South. Where I can see them.
- Now, if I go after North, South runs towards the hook & North runs away. I turn around; South runs back into position. North runs back into position.
- Repeat #3 if I go after South.
- Now, I'm either going to 1) Stay by the hook, because if I leave, they're getting an unhook. And now my Hooked Survivor gets a free escape and a speed boost, because '######### you, Killer players' or 2) Chase someone, and the other gets a free unhook.
See how it can be abused? I either give up an unhook or the Survivor gets a free escape. Real A+ balance for Killers. It's flawless, if you're only goal was 'Survivors get anything they want'.

Wut? I literally said at the beginning of the post that it's currently an effective strategy.
But it's also a crutch strategy that's used in place of not having any real skill.
So what? Does everything need to meet some sort of magical 'skill level' that people gets to decide?
1 person says Iri Hatchets take no skill.
1 person says camping takes no skill.
1 person says NoED takes no skill.
Another says Dead Hard takes no skill.
Who. Gives. A. #########? Not all tactics need to be accepted by every player.
Esp not when boths sides whine like babies that whatever killed them 'takes no skill' because, clearly, they're too good to die to anything not OP.
-
Christ. Camping does not need punishments just because some people get butthurt or think it's unfair. And no, Survivors should not get free because their feelings get hurt when they're found first and get killed in a game...where they can get killed.
Stop with punishments. Invent new perks and ways to encourage Killers to leave the hook. Because there's literally no way a punishment won't be abused by Survivors. And yours falls into the same BS as the old 'Let Survivors have infinite time on hook if camper is within <x> meters' idea that was pure garbage.
No. Bad idea. It can be abused. It's horrible. Survivors should not get a free unhook just because they pitch temper tantrums when they lose. End of story.

Next time before making a low effort "survivor bad" comment, turn your brain on and read the thread again.
I did read the thread. Nowhere did you state you play both, and you're still demanding Iri Head be nerfed.
Turn your own brain on and remember what you typed. Iri Head is fine.

Some don't understand why they don't want to but ... penalties are useless in the game. Unfortunately, they are penalizing me because other players disconnect or because the server goes down, which is in South America in my case ... if you disconnect in a game because there is a hacker, they penalize you. In a game like this with so many errors, the penalty system does not work.
The system works fine. I've been around when it's been turned off, and the game becomes unplayable.
And I've never heard of someone ELSE DCing and giving a random the DC penalty. You may want to record it and submit a bug report.
But the bottom line is that the DC penalty catches more rage-quitters than people with bad internet/PCs.

I disagree and I think 24 hours is too harsh for any amount of DC's. There should be a lower maximum penalty.
And I disagree and think 24 hours is not harsh enough if you're 'crashing' that much.
Every time you crash; you're ruining the game for other people. And if your game or internet is THAT unstable; you don't get to say 'Well I deserve to play' when your crashes screw over everyone else again and again. That's just selfish.
So if you earn the 24 hour ban; you've clearly ruined matches for allot of people. Sorry. Not their fault your internet and/or PC are bad,a dn they should not be punished for you being selfish.
(Note: 'You' being the hypothetical person crashing enough to get a 24 hour ban. Not YOU, km66.)

Why make thread #500 about the masks?
Also; giving them to everyone, so the racists can keep using them, is not the same thing as taking them away, so the racists can't use them. I don't see how you can think 'give them to everyone' fixes the problem.
-
Too many boosts for one perk. You'd create a new META perk that counters any Stealth Killer and every Perk or Power that creates the Oblivious effects.
You basically get a movement speed boost, reduced breathing effects, a faster vault, and quieter footsteps? Why not add 'You repair gens & heal faster' as well?
The perk is insanely OP and overloaded with effects and bonuses for the express purpose of countering stealth builds.
-
Survivors: Doing bones in impossible! There's five of them and 4 of us! We don't have the time!
Also Survivors: Infinite Circle Of Healing goes brrrrr!
-
Survivors: I don't have the TIME to do bones!
Also Survivors: Haha. Infinite CoH goes brrrrrr!
The fact that Survivors can find the time to replace Circle Of OP as much as they want means they are just being lazy whiners when it comes to NoED. Truth is truth.

Except, sans BBQ; the Killer will probably assume they are not at the generatos they aimed at if they don't get a hit.

I play killer just fine without camping from the get-go, as do any other decent killers.
Good for you, and them. Does not mean an accepted, valid, and useful tactic needs a 'fix' just because some people don't want to use it.
You don't have to camp? Don't camp. Good on you.
I like having the option to do so if I feel I need too. And 'it's boring' is a BS excuse; I'm not here for the Survivor's fun.
Do you think they care about my fun when they bring 4 flashlights? or when I heat my 3rd Dead Hard and they twerk before running away? Or they twerk in the exit gates after winning instead of just freaking leaving? Or when 3 BNPs are brought into the match?
Why is it something that works for Killers is expected to be 'fixed' when 'it's boring for Survivors' is the excuse? Your opponents are not here to entertain you, Killer of Survivor.
So 'it's boring' is not a valid excuse. Sorry.
-
Oh well. Killers don't have the leisure of 3-hooking every Survivor in the current 5-minute-game meta. Add to those gen speeds: 16 second-chance perks spread through all 4 Survivors, and toolkits to either reduce gen times, or flashlights & medkits to erase damage, PLUS Circle of OP...
...And Killers basically have to camp to apply pressure.
Oh yeah; and camping is an accepted tactic that will in no way be 'fixed', because it's just Killers achieving their goal.
Heaven forbid they win in a way Survivors find 'boring'. π
-
@Dstorv said:

Thats not how DMS works lol it activates regardless if survivors are on gens or not.
Yes but if Survivors leave a gen early, and walk away a few feet, the Artist can shoot her birbs at the gen, hit no one, thus no one is knocked off the gen, and now her power is on cooldown, and now Survivors can work on the gen again.
And, if the Survivors are aware of BBQ; they can even wait for it to run out before returnign to the gen, just preventing the Artist from knowing if she should shoot at the gens again.
DMS 100% should come over unchanged, because everyone touting this apparently unstoppable combo across at least 3 threads, is wrong.

NOED is fine people need to stop getting upset because they died in the endgame.
You die early you tantrum, you die late you tantrum.
NOED is a great perk because it makes the endgame threatening. Most endgames are boring as piss because by that point you have won it unless you are on death hook and even then there is a pretty good chance to escape.
I wish NOED was built in when the EGC started everybody is exposed. That would make every game thrilling at the end.
Here's an idea:
Every Survivor hooked twice before the last generator pops is Exposed when the last generator pops. They are at their weakest, and the Entity is hungry for their souls. π
It would encourage Killers to spread out hooks so no Survivors are safe during the end-game! Less tunneling! π

Exactly. Before the first chainhunt Pinhead can still make pressure on gens like every Killer.
I don't think you understood me, or I'm not understanding you.
With your change, SURVIVORS can ignore the box, since Pinhead can no longer pick it up, and thus push gens until their chain-gauge-thing is close to filling up.
This means Pinhead is LOSING gen pressure, because he's losing out on the threat of finding the Box first.
So no. You're asking for a change based on clearly not understanding how his power works, and 'feeling' it's too strong.
Pinhead's power is fine. No; Your idea is a massive nerf & unneeded.
-
@DeadByStreetlight said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2734253#Comment_2734253
I don't think that the power from pinhead is to search the box early and grab it. Maybe i'm wrong.
It punishes Survivors who ignore the box and focus on gens. If they don't find it first, then they get harassed by chains.
Your change would allow them to literally ignore the box to push gens until they get close to being chained, and THEN go find it.
-
So, because you did not know how his power works, it felt strange to you, and thus needs to be changed to be in line with how you feel it should work?
Pinhead's power is fine.

It would be ok if you cold grab them from the survivor hands Or if you are using franklins that its possible to grab it.
But it's not ok to search the box and just grab it. Thought that this is a bug and will be fixed with the new update. The normal way to play should be buffed.
And why is it 'not okay' to just grab it? Like, give me any good balancing issue. Because all I'm seeing is a proposed nerf to PinHead for...no real reason.
-
Also no CoH nerf, when even the majority of Survivors say healing speeds are broken.
It's less 'The devs listen to Survivors' and more 'The devs don't listen to anyone'.
-
How many of these damn threads do we need?
They're gone. The racists ruined it for everyone else. People need to get mad at the small-minded racist pricks of the world, not at BHVR.
-
Really? 'Hey, lets just remove the Killer's ability to pick up his own Lament Box, just because!'
Pass. If I find it first; Survivors deserve the pain. I should not have to camp it and wait for a Survivor to pick it up, or drop chases to teleport, to have any chance of using it myself.
-
I'm tired of seeing 'Copy other games!' threads in forums for EVERY GAME.
Even in Phasmophobia, people are like 'You should be more like DBD!' off and on. Or 'You should be more like Ghost Hunter Corps!'.
Why don't we make every game like Pac-Man on the Atari? Or better yet; the grandfather of all games: Pong? Who needs originality? Just copy whatever someone else does!
-
Hidden how? If my Killer is staggering like a drunk after a 5 day bender; I know you have Boil Over.
-
So, basically, if someone were to say 'Spirit is OP' and I were to say 'Yeah, and so is CoH. Both need changing.'; it would be whataboutism?
So much for holding a discussion. Unless you agree or disagree and say nothing more; there's a fallacy involved.

Play the game for yourself, use perks, for yourself. If people get mad.... ######### em. They're soft and not worth the effort.
This game has balance issues yes, but if something is broken, it'll be called out, then wait for the devs to fix it.
Apparently some people define 'Toxic' as 'It makes Survivors unhappy/inconvenienced'. π
Franklin's is toxic because Survivors want to keep items.
NoED is toxic because Survivors want to pound gens.
