  • In my opinion Ghostface is not playable since dedicated servers came out. Not only does stalk not work, he can be revealed through solid walls. This happened before sometimes, but now it happens almost every game. It's so sad, I like this killer so much but not even his stealth ability can't be used properly on dedicated servers.

  • It I s just a mindset you can't do anything about. I play both sides and never dc, no matter what (except hold game hostage for too long, but that never happened to me yet).

During bloodhunt I had a Nea in my lobby with the brightest clothes, but I guess she was new because she wasted every single pallet, when I was not even coming from that side and it seemed she didn't know how Legions killer instinct works. She was the first one on the hook and got unhooked pretty quickly. I went back, since I didn't find someone else and smacked for the unhooker. I always try not to tunnel, but there the Nea was, literally self-caring in my face. I downed her, just to get more pressure on the team, I didn't even wanted to hook her again yet to give her a chance...and she dc'd.

Like, imagine dcing during bloodhunt, against the weakest killer, who's even giving you a chance to get more points during the game. She even waited until the game was over, just to insult me as tunneler. When she showed me the biggest disrespect with healing in my face. Like...next time, maybe run away from the killer? Even in the unsafest corner of the map I would have let her alone, but not when self-caring right in front of me. What logic is that?

  • For finding generators on Hawkins or the game, you can look for closed doors. If you see one, there must be a generator nearby, either in the room you are standing or in the room behind that door. Powering this generator will open the closed door.

In Hawkins there are two gens that you can find easy: one on the second floor in the office rooms (1man gen) and one where the portal to the upside down is, on top of the glass room.

On Lerry's there's always a gen in the middle and sometimes one in the office/library room.

It will take a while to learn the maps. I have about 750 hours and still get lost on the game map, the whole thing just looks the same for me.

  • Legion might be the weakest killer, but in my opinion still the most fun to play and always brings a lot of bloodpoints if you play him right.

Hag is the strongest one out of these three I think, but I don't have as much fun with her like I do with Legion. And I don't really like clown at all, but that's just how I feel about it.

  • Bought it in 2016 for about 20€ and also have all dlcs. Regret nothing.

  • I wish he would get back his old vaulting speed along with some other buffs. He's the weakest killer in this game and his base kit needs to get buffed urgently in my opinion. I wish this would happen soon, but I doubt it :(

  • That's why I stopped playing killer for a while.

The archives and the will to complete the steam archivements kinda brought me back to playing killer sometimes. And while completing the challenges, I realized that for me, setting my own goals is the only way to enjoy playing this role.

I tried to stop caring about kills and only concentrate in completing one challenge. This helps a lot, but it is still stressful for me. When playing killer I can literally feel my heart beating while as survivor I'm completely relaxed. That's maybe because as survivor one small mistake will get you on the hook. But as killer one small mistake can cost you the while game. That's a whole other level imo.

But I'm kinda afraid about the rank 1 archivement in steam. It was easy as survivor but the killer one...? This will probably be the only one I'll never get, sadly.

  • I think the only issue with "gen rush" is that it affect the gate keeper emblem and the points you'll get. In my opinion this is bad because it's not only really hard to prevent this, but also animates the killer to "kill rush" and kill everyone asap instead of playing around a bit. This also pressures the killer additionally (at least I feel like that sometimes).

  • @Yamaoka said:

A slow tbag and dropping the item is usually a way to say "thank you" - just saying.

Yes, I also see it that way. I think there is a clear difference between tbagging (hitting the crouch button fast and multiple times) and a thank you (slow crouch and standing up again or tab the crouch button max. 2 times). Sometimes I just crouch and nod as a 'thank you' right before leaving or wait few seconds if the killer wants to hit me again for points. If he downed me and I'm crawling out, I sometimes spin one time rigt before the exit as a happy sign. But I try to never waste the killers time and just leave fast.

I don’t understand why this is a thing, if you don’t want randoms or don’t want to be the random join a community and swf I mean THE OPTION IS THERE. Adding in game voice chat is a waste of the companies time and resources which could be put to much better use.

Exactly. The only reason I play solo sometimes is because I don't want to talk to other people at the moment. The price is to have less information and not beeing able to give information, but I couldn't care less if I don't want to talk anyway.

They should just buff the weaker killers. Solo survivors have the option to team up with someone anytime, there are even groups to search for teammates...that's why I don't see a problem with solo survivors, because if you play solo, you choosed to. There's always an option.

  • First, I'm totally in with buffing weaker killers, especially Legion, Trapper, Wraith and Doc.

Buffing solos? Maybe? I dont really care, even though I sometimes play soli myself.

But please in heaven no ingame voicechat ever.

The day this is implemented is the day I probably will stop playing completely. I do not want to hear people scream or rant the whole game. I do not want to hear anyone's mom yelling in the background. I do not want to hear people talk in a language I don't understand because this would just distract from the game and not give me any information at all. I do not want to hear toxic people yelling at me. I dont want to deal with anyone's bad mic quality that is hurting my ears. It would destroy the game entirely and probably be abused.

And I also do not want anyone to hear me and I don't want to speak english everytime that I play, especially not when I play with a friend, just that some random teammates could understand us. I want to talk with my friends about private things, and do not want anyone to interrupt or listen.

If this is is ever coming, it needs an option to be turned off completely.

  • Team Player and hero I guess. Depends also on the team, if there are sandbaggers or people that screwed me over before on purpose, I probably won't help them.

When Red Ranks are not in your Range, Green Ranks are not as well.

This is fine, there is a hard cap of 6 Ranks, even when those Rank 2 Survivors are Rank 1, it works out.

And well, Legion is the easiest Killer to pip or Blackpip with, you can get a 4 man Escape and still at least Blackpip, a 1K can already be a pip...

The sad thing is, that this cap doesn't work at all. When the blood hunt started, I was rank 16 with killer. I got rank 10, 9, and two rank 6 as survivors. This is a gap of 10 ranks to two of them and they were swf. I still don't understand how that still is a thing? I thought they fixed that....

  • No it is not.

At the moment you can hook one person and then tunnel them down and instantly mori them.

In my opinion you should have to hook all four survivors one time to even activate the mori. This would prevent from killing one person in the first two minutes of the game, but also would not make the mori entirely useless.

  • I am a survivor main and all I ask for is a big Legion buff. Never even had a real problem with old Legion, besides the moonwalk exploit. I always enjoy going against him and I think it is really sad that I face him rarely because people don't want to play him much anymore after the nerf occured. And also he's one of the characters I enjoy to play the most when I play killer and I love the idea and design. But he feels just ridiculous slow now, which is just sad. Even from survivor perspective he seems to be so slow now and you can loop him so easily. I hope they will buff him soon.

And I also think Wraith and Trapper could need a buff and Ghostface should be fixed because I can reveal him through solid walls since the dedicated servers are live.

  • It shouldn't be removed. But it should be nerved a little. Like only activate after everyone has been hooked once for example.

  • The only thing I encountered with ghostface is that it is possible to reveal him behind solid walls, when you can't see him at all. Happened since the dedicated servers are live.

However, when you're standing in front of him and try to reveal him, you should also make sure that your own character does not block the view on him. You need to see a particular percentage of him to reveal him (that's why it is hard to reveal him when he's leaning). But if you're standing in front of him and your own character is between the camera and him, you block your own view and it does not work properly. Make sure nothing is in the way, not even yourself.

  • Stabby daddy Frank and Stalky daddy Danny

  • Legion should get a big buff soon, but I don't really like any of these ideas. He already lost his feeling but this would destroy it completely imo.

There are already a lot of really good ideas from the community in this forum, which I think would suit this killer better. Like giving him the old vaulting speed and old frenzy speed back. Increase the duration a bit. You cant down anyone in frenzy after all, so it would be good for map pressure at least. Don't make missed hits end frenzy or at least not result in a 4 seconds stun (maybe just end the power so the killer has to wait until it is up again and ready for use). Remove the blackness from the stun, it is already 4 seconds (which I think is way too long), no need to make the screen dark during that time. Make scratchmarks immediately visible again after canceling frenzy. It should be possible to see blood during FF, I think it does not make any sense at all that you can't see blood, it doesn't fit the killer at all in my opinion.

Old Legion but without moonwalk exploit would be nice. At least I was always ok with old Legion, never had a problem with him as survivor. But I guess I'm alone with this opinion.

  • Playing killer is really stressful for me. Even if I have total control of the match, I still feel pressure and I'm nervous that I'd make one mistke that would throw the match for me completely.

Dedicated servers even made things worse. I have a ping of 30-40 ms ever match and have lags only when I play killer. I also feel like autoaim scews me over multiple times in a match since the servers are live. and Ghostface can be revealed through solid walls. I havn't had all these problems before the servers were live, what makes it even more stressful for me now.

Because of that I only pay killer now to get the archivements or to complete quests. I try to stop caring about winning, but only to reach my own goals. it kinda helps, but I still think it is sad that playing killer is way more pressure than playing survivor, where I'm rather relaxed. Like...shouldn't it be the other way around?

  • In my opinion it is kind of camping. There is no really "good" or "bad" thing to do, I mean, it is a game. I also go back to the hook, if they unhooked and I couldn't find anyone else to go after in that time. But I usually don't down the unhooked one, but try to find the unhooker instead and go for them. If I can't find the unhooker fast enough, I'd go for the unhooked one again, because this would be sadly bad gameplay from the survivor side if they don't give me another target and who else would I be supposed to go after?

But usually I avoid downing the unhooked one, because I feel bad for them. When I play survivor, getting tunneled is the most frustrating thing for me. It can destroy the whole fun, especially if it happens right at the beginning and the killer has no real reson to. I just don't want to be that kind of a killer. That's why I made this rule for me (if the're disrespectful / or really toxic, I'd break this own "rule" and wouldn't care if I tunnel or not). As long as they play normal, I don't tunnel or camp. But this is something you have decide for yourself.

  • I don't really enjoy playing killer, but I still do it from time to time to get better at the game in general.

I don't have a big problem to play both roles. I did all the killer ones in one day, they weren't that bad. I think the real problem is the difficulty of the higher rift tiers. I don't think that I will be able to complete tier 4. I'm not that good in playing killer and the survivor oes seem to be almost entirely luck based. Especially that you have to select one challenge and can only complete this special one could be problem I guess. At least for me.

All in all I really love the archives, brings some variety to the game. But I'm concerned about the higher tiers challenges. I think they might rather be frustrating than bringing fun to any role.

    Absolutely amazing!

    Thank you! :)

  • Depends on the situation?

I had a round as Legion, where I hooked someone in the basement in the shack. I went up immediately and, no joke, all other three teammates were running around the shack like headless chickens. In the end, I hooked them all in the basement. They all stayed there, while I hooked one after another. I didn't even slug. I never camp, they served themself on a silver plate to me. Literally all three of them.

  • You have to select one challenge in the archives. If you complete it, you have to go to the archives, claim it, and select the next one. You'll get bloodpoints and rift fragments for each completed challenge. The rift fragments will contribute to your level in the rift. For each level, you'll receive rewards.

There are two paths of the rift, one is free (you'll get these rewards) and one is premium. You can only unlock the rewards from the premium pass, if you buy it for 1000 auric cells. With some levels, you'll even get auric cells back as reward (if I'm not wrong you can get all 1000 auric cells back, by unlocking all levels of the rift).

Idk, I had a Freddy earlier today I could have sworn he was on meth or something. He caught up quicker than I think he normally does.

I also had the same experience with a Freddy yesterday, it looked like he had bloodlust 3 for the entire game.

  • This isn't even something new.

It already was like that with the pre-rework Freddy, if I'm not mistaken. You couldn't see him when not in the dream world, but he could see you.

I think it is good as it is now. The perk is so strong, especially in a full swf, it should have a downside and a risk with it.

  • People dc about everything, no matter what.

Ghostface is a great killer, probably my favourite to go against. Most of the time the rounds are super fun and I almost never had a GF who was camping. Maybe 1 or 2 times. Really not a big number at all. And the killer is really not that strong. I'm not saying he's weak, not at all, but pretty good balanced imo (beside the fact that survivors seem to be able to reveal him behind some walls, this is kinda broken. Never happened to me though).

  • There's one thing that I always recall: No matter what happens, no matter how fast you die ingame, you never really "loose".

Same goes for killer, they genrush you and everyone got out? Frusrating? For sure! Do you loose? Not really.

The thing is, there's no reward in higher ranks or anything. You won't get anything from ranking up, so rank doesn't matter at all.

But for each game, no matter how good or bad it went, you'll always get you bloodpoints. Sometimes more, sometimes less, but doesn't matter. You always get them.

The other thing you'll get is experience. A Killer mingamed you and downed you easily? Try to recall what he did. Try to learn from it or maybe you can even learn for your own killer gameplay. And there's almost always something to learn while playing, even if you're a good player there might be something to learn.

Don't trust your random teammates. This is actually part of the game. Some people are altruistic and will always help, some will stab your back, bring the killer to you, farm you from the hook, not unhooking at all,...

In my opinion there is no "loosing" in this game. You'll always get something from it. Try to stop caring about if you survived or not, because surviving is not winning. You can basically hide all game, doing nothing, and escape through the hatch. Congrats. You escaped. But would you really consider it as a win? I really don't.

What also can be fun is to try new things out. Take new perks with you and try to use them at their best. Complete dailies. Set your own goals, you can archive, regardless if you escaped or not.

  • Kinda funny that I like to go against Legion and especially Ghostface and Demogorgon the most. I'm also fine with Freddy and the main reason I don't really like Spirit is because I face her like 80% of all matches. But therefore I don't really like to go against Clown and Michael and I think I dislike Plague the most, just annoying to play against imo.

But doesn't matter which killer it is, I never dc or suicide on hook. I will never understand why people do this. Some matches can be annoying or frustrating, but this is just the nature of the game I guess. I still play like I always would.

  • I kinda do care about rank, too. But rather because I know that people in purple ranks e.g. usually would not crouch around in the corner of the map. That's my motivation to rank up - to play together with people who have some experience in this game. Other than that I don't really care.

  • Well, I have to say that I prefer Billy. For me he's more fun to play as and especially to play against. But I guess this is more about "who is stronger" and in my opinion it's clearly Spirit. I think Billy is much more easier to counter and to loop while looping Spirit is more based on luck and if one falls for the trick of the other. It can also be fun, but it can also be frustrating.

  • He's basically the weakest killer in the game, I'll never get why people complain about Legion at all. Even before his big nerf he wasn't really strong. I never had a problem with playing against him. I rather enjoy it because playing against Legion will usually reward you a lot of bloodpoints without even doing much.

  • I really would like to see these changes. I think they would help Legion a lot and since he can't down anyone in FF, it does not seem to be overpowered.

I think these are pretty good ideas.

  • She has footsteps, I heard them often. But I think you can only hear them when she's really close and in my experience it is very difficult to hear them when the chase music is playing.

  • How about you just play solo?

If you get mad at others, you can still play alone and probably learn to be less sweaty. It is just a game, have fun and fool around a little. Learn how to not get mad at others or how to not really care at all. I mean in this game you cant really loose at all. Even if you die in the first three minutes, you'll still get some bloodpoints, there's literally nothing you can loose at all. If you're worried about items, don't take them with you, look in chests.

  • I got reported because the killer gave me the hatch at the end of the game.

It was a normal game, I did nothing to upset anyone, just did the objective and save unhooks. At the end, everyone got killed by a trapper. I was the last one and he carried me to the hatch and let me escape. The other survivors (2 or 3 sfw I guess) were so salty about that, they reported me for that.

I'm not saying it's right or acceptable, but the issue is that 90% of the people running neon Nea are doing so because they want to be seen because they have that cocky attitude that killers hate.

I don't really understand the Steve hate because I haven't seen Steves act any differently to anyone else, but I'd assume most people have the same opinion because of dressing in bright blue.

Yes I get your point, I play both sides and in my experience the colorful dressed characters (Nea, Feng or even Meg) are the ones who disconnect on their first down. However I always play the game and I will see the if they are toxic or not. If they get too cocky, no mercy for them. But if they play normal, why should I tunnel them to death?

The most toxic people I encountered were actually mostly Davids.

I think this is something the killer should decide during the game and not in the lobby. At least this is what I do.

  • I feel your pain. I main Nea (always with pink hair and bright cosmetics) and scoops ahoy Steve. The only reason I play with them is because I like them the most and I like their outfits. That's all about it. I never tbag or flashlight click, most of the time I don't even take an item with me.

But still I get tunneled a lot when I play these characters. And I'm not even good in running the killers around for very long.

One time a Clown focused me so hard, hitted me with BT, downed me later, I used my DS and BL right after, others tried to help me but he only wanted to see me dead. He lost the game (everyone else escaped), just because he wanted me so bad. At the end chat I asked him why he did this. His answer was, that he hates toxic people and I am toxic because I play Nea.

Yes. For this man a simple skin, which the biggest noob on this planet can equip, was toxic and a reason to loose the game just to get me.

And it feels like a lot of killers think this way, which is pretty sad imo. I just want to have fun. I just use these characters because I like them. I just use these outfits because I like how they look. I'm not bragging or flashlight kicking because I damn well know how it feels from the killer perspective, since I play both roles.

I just wish some killers would not judge the skins I use, but look how I behave ingame and if I show them disrespect or not instead of just assuming.

  • The only thing that is scary in this game is scratched mirror Myers on 'the game" map.

I actually enjoy rounds like these, it is something else.

  • I main Nea and also learned, that there are killers, who seem to be afraid of certain skins...

I don't know why. It is a skin. The biggest noob on this planet could buy and use it. It has nothing to do with the skill level at all, some skins even give advantage to the killer, since they can see you better, but still...getting dodged or tunneled for the cosmetics I use is something I have to deal with often. Even if I don't have an item with me.

And I'm not even really good in running the killer around for long. I never tbag or "bully" killers. Still they seem to be scared of me...

  • I also play this game since 2016 but I don't care at all that the Halloween event is getting postponed. Yes, I was looking forward to it, but technical issues can always happen. I prefer a delayed event, which is working, over a bugged one. The only thing I hope is, that it will be a little longer to compensate the lost time.

I think many people forget that BHVR is a company which needs to make money in order to exist. They can't give away everything for free. It takes time to design things and the employees need to be paid for it, even if it is "only" a cosmetic. It might not seem much fur us as customers but it is still work to create such things.

I don't mind to pay a little to keep this game alive.

If you don't want to, well, there is literally no need at all to buy things. You could just play the game without buying anything at all and without having any disadvantages. Even for perks there is the shrine...

  • You mean if there is one that don't want to farm?

I honestly never experienced that in the three years I played this game now, especially not after 2 people dc. But if there would be one that does not want to farm, he could simply rush the gens, open the exit and leave.

It would kinda suck for the others if they want to get more points, but nobody is forced to stay. These is no game hostage hold, he could just go. Or even dc, since there's no dc punishment yet.

  • Farming is not bannable, even if one survivor does not want to. It doesn't matter.

The only thing that would be bannable is, if you keep downing one survivor and leave him on the ground while you farm with the other one, so that the one on the ground has no chance in getting points.

Beeing nice and having fun is totally ok and not bannable, as long as you involve all temaining survivors and not target one survivor to prevent that he's getting any points.

  • My mains are Ghostface, Demogorgon and Legion. I like them the most and they are fun to play (even though Legions power is almost trash now).

  • DS is fine as it is now. Strong perk but can be countered. I haven't faced many killers that wasted 60 seconds standing next to me while I'm in dying state. Usually they just pick you up and you can use it, or they'll down you and search for someone else meanwhile, which is the smartest thing to do.

It gives another teammate time to pick you up, which also gives the killer time in game, since 3 persons are not doing gens if this happens. (one on the floor, one picking him up and another one getting chased).

  • @Theoretical_Heart said:

DCs will always be hard to ban and it's something you will have to live with. The "leave match" option is on the pause menu for a reason. Sometimes real life happens and you have to leave early. I've done it.

And a machine cannot tell the difference between rage quitting and needing to leave.

I think they should remove the "leave match" option completely.

Yes, real life happens, but if it does I just go in a locker or I'm just afk, doing the rl thing that has to be done. The killer can get his hooks and kill and the team mates can get up to two unhooks and everyone will get their points and the killer still wastes a few seconds on me, without me doing anything. There's literally no need to ever leave a match. And even if there is - just close the game completely.

I think a lot of DCs happens because this option is there. Don't like the killer or map? Just leave match and search for a new one in a few seconds.

I think if the DCer would have to close the game and restart it again, it might would get on their own nerves to do this.

  • Yes I agree, killer adept archivements are the most frustrating thing to complete. Even on really low rank it can be hard with this scoring system. Most people these days know how to do gens fast, so with no gen defence it is really hard. I think it would make more sense to just get a 4k for adepts.
