I usually stop placing traps near the hook after 1-2 unhooks...at that point the damage is done and they'll still crouch for saves :3

I always like to trap a gen so they think I'll do that with all gens. I love making survivors waste time

  • I love it when I crouch up to the hook, rescue the survivor, prepare to heal them and then they sprint burst through a trap (the trap they literally saw being placed in front of them) and are down again 3 seconds later. And then I'm getting chased.

Still I don't think killers should be nerfed because of idiotic survivors.

Well the 3000 IQ play to shut down the console frame forum did exactly what could be expected. I went to check PS4 metacritic after it was shut down and sure enough there it is.

so instead of it just being here in dbd forums now it is on metacritic. Nice 👍 good luck shutting that down. LOL

Well metacritic bombing was discussed briefly on the original thread but we stopped because we didn't want to give them a valid reason to lock the thread. Turns out valid reasons weren't necessary anyway.

Bumping a friendly & productive discussion on game health = very bad

15 threads on the front page at all times where we all scream at each other about ds, noed, and maining the wrong side = actually very good

I’m not surprised about what happened, BHVR needs to make money and obviously that thread wasn’t helping.

sometimes we might think this board is a “free” place, but it is not, it’s owned by BHVR and it serves the purpose they decide, I wouldn’t be surprised if mods closed it just because someone higher in BHVR was getting pissed.

anyway, doesn’t matter, patch is right around the corner, and when it comes out you better believe there will be a thread talking about how it is on console - because THAT will be a totally different topic.

As soon as I saw the first mod comment I knew the thread was on

    PR31HTR4LVFR~2.jpg

The mods have mentioned before that they don't censor or delete stuff that is critical of/inconvenient for bhvr if it isn't overly aggressive or just consisting of personal attacks. But threads can be locked due to some technical rule violation on page 7, or it can be banished to some dark corner of the forums. My post asking what steps the devs have taken to ensure the blight would be a functional killer on console got booted into PTB feedback faster than I die on hook when someone opens a chest. It was a question, and I'm clearly not on the ptb if I'm asking something like that!

  • Escape as obsession I got in one try, I just brought mettle of man then looked around for hatch when there was two of us left.

3 stuns. Camp a pallet and follow it up with a locker DS into head-on. Won't make you many friends but it gets the job done.

Escape while others survive helps on 3-4 man escapes if you're lucky enough to get one. Hide in the exit gates and when your teammates have completed their 1min 58 seconds of very necessary teabagging you should have 2 seconds to get out yourself.

  • My pc teammates have been much the same as my console ones. Sometimes good, sometimes not. The killers haven't been much different except pc nurses are generally more frightening. The huntresses have weirdly been much worse than what I'm used to.

I switched xplay on as killer because I was playing at deathsquad hours (ps4 Killers who play after 10.30-11pm should know what I'm on about) so I didn't see how it could get much worse and immediately got much easier games. But this is all anecdotal anyway.

I think it's just confirmation bias at this point. You see the globe icon, assume they'll be bad and pay more attention to what they're doing than your other teammates. Or you get a very tunnelly killer, assume they're on console and if you see the icon at the end then "hah! I knew it" and if you don't then it gets shrugged off.

Also speaking of noobs on pc I had otzdarva on my team and he stepped in a very obvious trap while running over to pick me up off the floor and we both died. He should consider playing some trapper to get a feel for some common trap hiding spots

  • They confirmed they're bringing it back, I guess it's still calculating in the background

Oh god you commented that when i said it lmao.

    ill list some more:

    • Nurse - Lantern head makes frames drop and they can drop anyway at random.
    • Hag - Too many traps active at once
    • Spirit - Very minor frame drops when entering or leaving phase
    • Demo - When starting shread and when walking over surfaces that cancel your portal prompt
    • PHead - Ive had some bad frames when starting the game, this will have to be tested though.

I went against a console nurse earlier, we all escaped but she was good/accurate enough I'd assumed pc. She had the blight outfit on, absolute mad lad. Also ormond so RIP in general.

    - Halloween outfits = even shittier FPS on console just as a note to why this is on topic for any interested observers🎃

  • Not a Myers main anymore, although I played him last night for the first time in ages while slightly drunk and did pretty well. He feels jankier than he used to (kinda why I stopped playing him) like when I tried to 99 the stalk it would then regress or zoom straight into tier 3. Anyway what I usually do/did is this:

corrupt intervention for his terrible early game, infectious fright, dark devotion, whatever 4th perk. Any normal add-ons are fine, the one that increases stalk speed is a good choice. Tier 3 on the obsession, one shot them, chase any survivors you saw with IF without your terror radius and red stain, get them too. Or you can ditch IF - less info for you but less warning for them. It's nastier than the way I play most killers but you can get 2-3 people slugged with this pretty quickly and it can be hard to recover from or at least uses up some unbreakables. He's evil incarnate anyway (:

  • @rottmeister I lowered the drawbridge, should work now :)

  • I've never really considered it but I do actually run DS with other anti-slug perks sometimes, i.e. flip-flop or tenacity.

What level of pp are we talking here? Has anyone got a chart of some kind?

  • There's definitely a lot of matches where I wish I had brought DS or unbreakable, and I often run one of them. Just together it feels kinda cheap to make yourself essentially invulnerable for up to two minutes of the game. Same reason I didn't run old balanced landing with a haddonfield offering or abuse the (sort of) infinites.

I know it makes me a massive scrub but I'd rather lose than win with cheese, generally 😁

  • When there's two survivors left and both are hiding and not doing objectives it's extremely dull as killer, it's also annoying if one of the survivors left is actually still working on gens while the other crouchwalks around the hatch and waits for them to die, essentially rewarding being a terrible teammate. And let's not forget the two swf teammates who have a key and take forever to find the hatch (this is horrible on swamp)

My solution would be a timer like mechanic when two survivors are left in which you have to meet a minimum threshold of productivity - either working on gens or being in chase. When it's up any survivor who failed to do that is instakilled, which could be one of them, neither or both.

Cool, but if they feed you information, then you're getting perk value for free. You're receiving help using a system the game wasn't designed to handle, and it's a crutch.

Even the unsweaty groups on comms are gonna relay information though, it'd be weird not to. Although I have told friends I'm playing with the killer is a huntress when it's actually a stealth killer, just because it's fun

When I switched platforms I could’ve made a similar claim about any character. I don’t know that beating up Grey and Yellow ranks will impress anyone.

Losing to them with Spirit would catch more eyes.

True so it shouldn't be too long before they're up against purples and reds, especially bc the matchmaking for new killers is pretty merciless

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

By these rules I can prove Pig is OP. Actually Truetalent has multiple vods with Wraith where he doesn’t lose the entire day. Or Scott Jund with Oni.

I think the point is the OP barely plays killer and is a rank 20, so wants to prove someone inexperienced with killer can do it. People who play killer for hours on end daily getting good results with a weaker killer isn't really comparable.

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

What killers are you recommending for Iron Maiden?

How do you feel about locker scream trolling?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/187402/iron-maiden-is-severely-underrated

Not the OP but doc definitely

And do you mean survivors just going in and out of lockers to scream over and over? Pretty funny tbh

  • I mean we complain when survivors say "X killer is OP/ez" and when asked if they've actually played the killer or are up for trying the answer is no - but at least this person seems willing to actually go for it.

  • I think probably not. I have a couple of friends who play this game who have higher devotion levels than me (I think one is 9 and one is like 12) and they are not good. One is a spine chill/urban evader who lasts about 10 seconds in a chase and the other usually gets grabbed out of a locker 20 seconds after the start of the match after trying a ridiculous head-on play. And as killer they're even worse.

They also aren't on the forums afaik but if they are, I'm sorry lads

  • I'm actually interested in the results of this. Post some gameplay too if you can OP

  • I haven't played him much bc I'm slowly p3ing him and he's another console frame-killer (for more information on our plight, please see the 30+ page thread usually on the main page)

But when I do play him I like to place small amounts hidden in grass near gens and loops and stuff, maybe you just went near some of that? Or maybe there's a new bug that makes his trails invisible, that sounds like the sort of thing that might happen

  • @ElementDoom said:

Old Freddy was my first main. He added a lot of flavor to the game and wasn't even that bad so long as you played him as a stalling killer who tried to slowly create dead zones. Also class photo was low-key the strongest addon in the game.

The rework was absolutely terrible from a design standpoint. It made him strong but removed every aspect of his kit that was fun or unique. He's just a stat check at this point. I had to stop playing him a couple months after the rework dropped because his gameplay loop became totally stagnant.

My biggest regret was not getting to try furtive chase on him. Might've actually made him good. Seems like the perk was designed specifically to help him but then they reworked him a month later so idk.

I didn't unlock furtive chase on him in time but I tried it in kyf with some mates paired with paint brush and it was beautiful

  • The lengths people will go to to win in a game like dbd :/ might as well start lagswitching in mario kart

  • I kinda miss him too. He was the first killer I got to red ranks with so there's that nostalgia aspect I guess. The only thing I really hated about him was how easily screwed over he was by self care and adrenaline, which were both way more meta back then. Also survivors just finishing gens in your face but the blocks could give you a nice grab instead (remember grabs? More nostalgia)

  • It might make it harder but not impossible. A decent spirit can still often find survivors with iron will with good prediction. Also if you become a spirit main and someone complains that all you need to play spirit is two working ears you'll have a very satisfying comeback.

Like I know this isn't your point but, one question I ask myself is, what's so wrong with a thong to the devs yet hag's allowed to have titty out on her base skin? It's a weird choice imo. Titty I'd say is FAR worse than thong.

Like that's the only reason I could think to remove the thong, moral panic. And yet, the hag titty is allowed to stay. They have freaking jiggle physics on boobs, and yet a thong is apparently wrong to them. I am baffled.

(BTW it's perfectly fine that you don't like the thong, everyone likes different things, I'm not questioning you, but the dev's choices)

Because hag is already an extremely erotic character. You could put her in a french maid outfit and I guarantee she wouldn't be any sexier than she is already (btw devs if you make that a cosmetic I'd like some credit)

  • Well we all have different experiences, I really like crossplay.

  • Don't be too bothered about losing certain matches. Whether it's the 4 man death squads with 16 second chance perks and finest item + addon combos, or an iri head huntress with an ebony mori - it's like playing chess except you can pick your own pieces and the other side just replaces half their pawns with queens. Great if you can still win but if not, meh. This is a very unbalanced game with lots of broken stuff on both sides and even just the maps and the tiles that spawn on it can make or break it.

  • Should try this again

  • It's clearly a joke because clown is not OP. Wraith on the other hand...

  • 1) dead hard (if working)

    2) sprint burst

    3) lithe

    4) balanced landing

    5) head on

    6) dead hard (not working)

    X) adrenaline (too unique to compare properly with the others)

Just what I think in terms of strength, it's not ranked by how much I like or use them

  • Killers aren't to blame for moris (which are stupid, yes) being in the game. Same for survivors and keys and all the other ridiculous items they used to have. They're getting changed at some point, you're just gonna have to wait it out, but being pointlessly antagonistic won't nerf them any faster.

  • It would be nice to be able to see what teammates are bringing. Not to dodge but just have that info that swf get anyway.

  • I roll my eyes when I see it but it's really the fault of the devs, not the players. If you put cheesey stuff in PvP games it's obviously going to get used

  • Midwich and OoO together are the worst, it's the new balanced landing + haddonfield.

Btw just one obsession perk (aside from DS) will most likely make you the obsession so you can just run sole survivor or even mettle of man if you want that result without all the stuff object brings.

I see you like to block things I understand my psn xMissDoseyx I would like to annoy you plz allow me to 🐖❤️

    Added <3

  • I've had the opposite experience. My PC killers have been pretty chill in general, except the huntresses (I haven't gone against a good pc huntress yet, only ones who're weirdly campy and ragequit prone)

I only started with xplay on as killer for the first time today bc despite the issues we have on console (frame rate etc) it was ps4 deathsquad hours so it couldn't exactly get any worse, and I actually started getting really good games.

So I'm sold, xplay stays on

You have no idea if it is a PC killer, Xbox Killer or even Switch Killer, all you know is that he isn't a PS4 killer. I really wish people would stop assuming something then making an extremely aggressive remark about something they very obviously don't understand.

I don't agree with the OP on the rest but you can usually tell based on what they're called. Nintendo and microsoft won't let you have gaps in your username or be called "hex: devour ass" etc

Also on steam you aren't stuck with the name XxPussD3stroyerxX for the rest of your gaming days

    Even worse lol

I'm surprised only a few mainly because Freddy existing on console seemed to kill it lol

Lmao good job- how many frames do you think those poor console players lost?

I'm the poor console player :p or one of them at least.

I had a good few drops, it was mother's dwelling which isn't the worst for that but def not the best either.

Honestly stack double dress, Overcharge, PGTW, Lullaby, BBQ; go wild. BBQ there for points and PGTW because I have an addiction to the perk.

Ahah I did use one dress and lullaby which lasted til the end for once. I also dunno how alessa got that many points but good for her

That's cool thank you for giving switch support I think I read somewhere that you stream? might of been wrong let me know what things you do I personally would love to give you some support.

Definitely want to double down on the xbox ps4 switch we are all dealing with these issues support each other forget the console wars we all suffer the same stay together stay heard 🐖

Yeah I turned into one of @GoodBoyKaru 's streams and once I saw him running the forbidden addons on Freddy I knew I had to smash that mf'in subscribe button ;)

In other news I just tried xplay as killer, got my first pc survivors and gave them a good seeing to. Who needs frames anyway? (that's a joke btw devs, don't go relaxing on me)

  • Let's not scream at the person whose been playing for four days as if it isn't a natural thing to think when starting out as survivor.

@ OP although at first it seems hopeless and you won't be escaping much if you stick with it you'll unlock perks that can help make you a lot stronger (although be careful about relying on them too much), and you'll soon start finding ways of keeping chases going despite the killer's speed by using your environment to your advantage and knowing + exploiting each killer's weaknesses. Most agree that the most frustrating role to play tends to switch after some experience.

  • Noed, ds, swf, and current hated killer(s). All should have one thread in feedback section and new threads merged into into it. No matter how annoying ds (the perk) or ds (the killer) are there don't need to be 10 posts on the front page with the same arguments.

  • The legion one looks decent

  • Plague: starts gargling her own vomit like mouthwash while making brushing teeth gestures

Spirit: starts pulling shards of glass out of her leg and seductively licking them

  • @Customapple0 said:

Funny how complaints about slugging at 5 gens are far and few between yet there’s always a daily thread complaining about genrush...

Because It's more common to have a match where the gens get done extremely quickly than it is to have one where your whole team is slugged at 5 gens. (Especially if the whole team is left to bleed out which I've never come across in two years of playing survivor, thankfully) Also in that case survivors are likely to blame each other as well as the killer so the blame gets shared out a bit more. It doesn't feel like a particularly interesting or interactive match in either case though.
