Hey, if you still got problems with the PS4 Framerate, please try updating your Firmware to 8.0. That might fix it! If this doesn't work, please ping me and I will get back to you.
I'm on 8.0 and I played a few survivor games to test, frame rate is very low on both old and reworked maps especially at the start of the match and it regularly drops even lower - I died on second hook every time due to frame droping while I'm struggling unless I was rescued instantly
-
It'd be nice if the patch didn't just bring it back to what bhvr thinks is an acceptable level of performance for console and actually made it feel semi-playable. One can dream
-
Actually bhvr is a small indie company, which I'm pretty sure means it's just mcote and like 2-3 other people all living and working in his car. Anyway we need to buy more skins or they'll have no food this Christmas, let alone presents. Or have you no heart, good sir?

I bet you ps4 is even higher with the fact they won’t optimize it and it’s almost unplayable right now. (Know this from experience as that’s my main console) A lot of my friends and myself have just left the game and are waiting to grind on Cold War zombies together next month.
A load of friends who gave up on the game a while ago all got on for the first time in ages bc they were still game for the halloween event. You can imagine how long they stuck around after seeing a) no event and b) dbd doesn't work on ps4 anymore.
Anyway I reinstalled so I can log in for the shards before going to play something else, just in case the devs get bored of self-sabotage one day.

I have to agree that the event itself is more exciting for me than skins. BBQ event was so awesome, I loved it. And the first hallowed blight (even tho it was sometimes annoying with suicides) was so cool aswell. I would take a proper event over free skins anyday
I only started playing just before the first hallowed blight but yeah it was fun. Stuff like trappers and hags trapping up the petals got on my nerves at the time but looking back with the nostalgia goggles on it was pretty damn funny
-
I mean it's still a downgrade.
2018 - event, can earn 2 skins through participating
2019 - no real event, can earn 2 skins through rift grinding
2020 - no real event, nothing else-> upgraded to being able to get 1 by logging in every day for a while
But the events are the only fun part anyway, I'm on console so can't actually wear the blighted skins anyway if I wanna go above 10 FPS in-game.
-
Agree. I have no problem with killers being strong, but very strong and very easy and also licenced...dunno if I'd nerf him that much, just some more brainpower put into snares and some teleport restrictions so every gen perk doesn't become automatically insane on him.
I got Freddy back when he was PTL and I loved him, was my first main + first killer I ever got to red ranks with but I don't even like playing as him now unless it's with pallets and a meme build (pill bottle + mad grit + agi + forced penance usually)

Dead hard has great "omg" potential? Ok. Glad to hear it's getting fixed or something? Maybe?
Legion is fine bc killrates aggh it's not just about killrates for some of us they feel like dogshit to play especially on console.
Sorry I'm just watching the Q&A now
-
I would be surprised if they nerfed Myers (except add-ons) ,even after billy and nurse.
Also that OoO answer lol, with mcote dropping that dev in it with "but is it fun to play against"
The answer being a) but my stats and b) I personally just try to ignore the person using it
-
bethevior
-
Moonrise was alright
-
I feel ya. I check back here often but I haven't played since pre-blight over console issues. I was ready to reinstall if the Halloween event looked semi-decent, 15 FPS or not but nah, especially now performance is worse. Again.
And I used to be pretty supportive of the devs but you spend enough time around this game that usually fades...
-
minimum specs that will at some point overtake currently existing technology is a small price to pay for increasing the graphic quality from early to mid ps3 era
-
The important thing is to shove dbd onto every platform possible, regardless of whether it works on them or the long-existing ones.
Dead by daylight: coming soon™ to the FitBit and Sega Dreamcast
-
Hopefully they will but bhvr tend to ignore anything related to console performance. They paid mild attention to a thread on it that ended up 30 pages long, then it got locked and they went right back to ignoring it.
-
Balance team spinning the buff/nerf wheel and throwing darts at it, nothing too new there.
In fairness if a gen is being worked on by 2+ people more than 96 metres away you're probably not getting to it in time with most killers. Still completely unnecessary.

True. Although expensive.
But even then, you still have to have been playing the game during the rift.
Yeah, not the route I'd go down even if I could afford it
-
@musefan said:
I agree. They should be exclusive otherwise it just devalues the rift.
What is the point in putting in all those hours to get Tier 70 if you can just buy the rewards later on anyway.
It removes the actual reward of being able to say "look, I completed rift X".
I mean look at the devs reasoning for not restoring legacy skins to people who lost them... why is that same reasoning not applicable to the rifts?
I'm pretty sure you can just buy yourself up to level 70 anyway without even playing.

Oh, I have a smurf account for playing with friends because I don't want it to effect the rankings of my teammates, but we always play fair and it erases the worry of losing a rank when having fun. Also, I prefer sacrificing myself to the new players on a smurf since then I can give them a pip and not stress over how well I played. I did it for the nurse a few weeks ago as Nea and she seemed to hesitate and my heart broke omg <3 it was so cute but I made her hook me during EGC lol! TL;DR I have a smurf for giving new killers pips without getting my ranks messy
I think doing it like that is fine. I made one once to practice nurse and huntress on console, but I had rules for it (no good perks, no addons, can only attack with power, let them all go in the end) although that was before rank 20 killers were regularly put against red survivors so it'd be kinda pointless now.

Right? The Hallowed Blight was honestly the best time I've had in a DbD event. Sure there were flaws but it was a blast with friends.
Edit: Also on topic, I kinda don't see a reason for killers to play this event. As Space Coconut has stated the Bp bonus is probably gonna be little to nothing, add on is limited time and messes with the killer power, and you can't earn outfits if the rumors are true. A really big shame.
Hallowed blight started just after I got the game and it was a hoot. Even people killing themselves after they were full (the sui rate really wasn't that different to a normal game though) even trappers and hags trapping the pustules. Twas a good time
-
I'm sorry pal. You'll have to switch to pig for those slow teabags
-
The hagphobia in this thread is a disgrace.
I'd go for ghostface
-
Not really, no. Then again people who play "normally" with others probably go unnoticed, when it's painfully obvious it's a swf it's usually the more obnoxious ones.
-
Didn't you hear? Only 0.16 gens get repaired per match on average

Why don't you tell that to all the people playing spirit/nurse/hag/oni/freddy/pyramid head with mori's at the higher ranks? Absolutely braindead killers that anyone can pick up and do well with.
It's pretty miserable for survivors, but effective for the killer. So I don't blame survivors for adapting. It's just playing to win. Nothing more.
Moris are stupid yes and Freddy and spirit can be a bit braindead (PH too but he won't be for much longer) but I don't get your opinions on the others at all. Hag won't do well against decent survivors by just placing traps randomly and nurse is...nurse

I don't play in a competitive SWF. I play solo Q. But I can tell you my experience playing the killer against competitive SWFs. I played against some of the ones that were in the 10,000$ hexy tournament multiple times. And they leave survivors on the hook against mori's while they rush the gens. It is optimal.
Optimal maybe it just doesn't sound like an enjoyable way to play. Some games I get the competitive element but dbd is asymmetrical, unbalanced, heavily RNG-based, buggy af etc etc. I mean there's probably an optimal way to play Mario party but is there much point in doing so?
-
@DaKnight said:
You are not entitled to 3 hooks. I run deliverance in solo Q for that very reason, to make sure I usually get a second chance. If the killer is running a mori? There is literally no reason not to leave you on the hook until 2nd phase, that's what the competitive SWFs do.
I mean if you're not entitled to three hook states is anyone else on your team entitled to you having more than one? Also playing like a "competitive swf" sounds unfun for everyone involved.
-
Don't use static blast unless you're certain there's at least one survivor in the area (whispers is good for this)
Experiment with perks, instadowns have great synergy with his blast - haunted grounds especially. Perks that you might not run on other killers like overcharge, unnerving or huntress' lullaby can be fun (for you anyway) dark devotion can be hilarious blasting people who are nowhere near you, I even get gen grabs with it sometimes (no one expects doc without a terror radius)
If someone starts pointing at a hook at soon as they see you it means they have some weird political objection to the free healthcare you're providing. Rather than trying to debate them just encourage them to rest on the floor for a while.
-
I think it's reasonable to criticise the death of interesting events in favour of all focus being put on the archives and rifts. Some people here seem to be under the impression that DBD is some sort of charity that provides us with free entertainment (or at least that's the only explanation I can think of where concepts like "gratitude" would make sense)

Everyone always has so many reasons to disconnect and then you guys all wonder why there’s a penalty.
- I got camped
- I got tunnelled
- I didn’t like the map
- I didn’t like the killer
- I didn’t like the perks/items/add ons being used
- There was lag
- There was a bug
- There was a key/mori
- There was a map offering
- There was an Object player
- My Internet is bad and/or died
- My teammates were annoying
- I overcommitted to a chase and lost multiple gens
Everyone is like “oh well I ONLY dc when [X]” but you guys don’t realise that if every person has a small list of reasons to disconnect, nobody can finish a damn match normally because everyone’s list is different and there are 5 people in a match, and just one of them dcing ruins it for everyone else.
Maybe if people could just suck it up and play through things that annoy them a bit, the penalty wouldn’t be necessary? Did you consider that? YOU and your constant need to disconnect are the REASON the penalty exists.
And for all the “well the devs don’t address why people dc” responses, there is no way in hell the devs can ever cater the game to every single person’s individual pet peeves. There will ALWAYS be reasons that people want to disconnect. Just suck it up.
Exactly. Even if you allow just one of those reasons i.e. "DCing is okay if you're being tunnelled" there are survivors who view being downed first as getting tunnelled. Or like killers who view looping being toxic or an explot. So it becomes a mess already
-
"One time three remaining survivors lined up at the gate and walked out at the same time and I got a good chuckle out of it. Thought it was really cool and told them so and they just lost their minds."
'How DARE you enjoy our attempt to annoy you'
-
People quit playing when they aren't allowed to DC?
Oh dear, truly a terrible loss for the community.

Looking closer at the picture he has:
Brutal strength, BBQ, STBFL, Hex:Ruin
His offering is a survivor pudding.
His addons seem to be pill bottle(useless/Meme), prototype claws(dream pallets).
Overall an inoffensive build.
I like pill bottle. Good eyesight btw
-
Sneaky little cover up of three of your perks and addons there :p what horrible sh*t did you inflict on those poor survivors, you can tell us
-
Very nice, I'm not sure there were enough demo pics though

I'm 30 although some of my comments might suggest otherwise. I also have a younger brother who's 11 and I'm pretty sure he plays it. I mean he's definitely aware of it.

Ruin/Undying doesn't need a nerf, in my honest opinion. SWFs can deal with co-ordinating totem cleansing easily. Solo survivors need some serious information buffs, such as when any survivor is in a chase or how many totems remain on the map. Get these and a lot less people would complain about NOED too. Then, we can buff killers accordingly, knowing all survivors get x information when y is happening, and introduce more good perk combinations like Ruin/Undying in the future to help shake the meta.
^^ this. Strong killer perks/combos are a good thing, less so when it's strong against solos & trivial against swf, widening the gap even more.
-
I'm a consoler but I doubt I'd even open the chat at all with the way this community is. Let them screech into the void

That's a good idea, I think I'll start playing more aggressive and just set my PS4 messages to friends only.
If they're salty enough they might send the message as a friend request, just a heads up
-
Agreed, late at night is the worst and it's actually better with crossplay on bc at that time on console it's pretty much all swf, who'll have 5 gens done before you have time to say "they just want to play with their friends"
I know you can beat them if you play flawlessly and it helps if you bring the sweatiest stuff yourself as well but even beating them isn't fun imo. Win or lose it feels less like a game and more like an ordeal.
-
You can play with a killer, add-ons, perks and a playstyle that are all survivor-approved and the BM will be the same level when you lose and the salt the same level when you win, trust me.
-
Claud and nea always, the rest varies.
Also I'm sad my mates stopped playing bc it's my dream to do a 4-man all with no mither and object of obsession

Unbreakable
Soul guard

Botany knowledge
Autodidact / we'll make it (situational)
Tenacity & flip flop (considered meme perks, are occasionally amazing though)

So does botany and we'll make it stack? I always used to tell someone in my swf group off for running both

So what. There are still 3 other survivors trying to enjoy a game too. Don't be selfish and ruin the game for other people.
Killer could still play on and maybe get 3K, who cares if the Kate is invincible and survives.
Classic killer entitlement, refusing to participate in a game where you can't injure people.
-
Blendettes can be insanely good but often are terrible hence being a blendette in the first place. Tapp deserves his own category for uselessness. Nancys are usually decent and Steves are good at doing things like getting themselves killed by surprise headonning you when you didn't even think there was a survivor in the area
