I played against a bubba. I died fast. don't remember much besides that.
1st killer match was with hag. I had no idea how to follow scratchmarks, or how hags power worked really... if I killed anyone it was a miracle

Like it depends on intent.
Loads of killers do majority of these just to be an ass, others do it within reason. For example I used to always hit Elodies to get rid of that horrible scream, which is understandable, but there are some people who do it to be asses.
Due to that, I find your title misleading.

How do you have 1200 posts but don't know a lot of those killer's powers yet?
because he posted a bunch before getting them? seeing it in action and actually using them is not the same thing.
it's not hard to understand...
I think you aren't playing hag properly if you think her area of action is smaller than trappers.
I recommend you check out @Michi for some tips on her, they are the best hag player I have ever seen.

still terrible... because it requires you to be in a chase for 24 seconds to get any actual value from it.
also, you lose bloodlust when you use your ability anyway... so even less killers can actually use it

TBH i have always found all classic nemesis "updates" on other RE games to look weird, the original look worked because of the washed up low quality FMV style from the original RE3, but everytime they have updated that original version he ends up looking super silly, mainly because they cant pull off a high res version of his skin, the original nemesis had a rotten look on his skin, almost like dirt while updates have gloss him over too much , too shiny and ends up losing that decaying feel.
I think he looks his best in the movie...

So, was matchmaking god-like when the game just released and Killers had 30% killrate? It's a rhetorical question. No need to answer.
I don't see how this would apply in any way.
am I wrong in what I said?
-
survivors get to red ranks easily. so a lot of red ranks aren't actually very good at the game.
a single bad survivor on a team potentially turns it into a 3v1. which is a lot easier for killers to deal with.

Why would Capcom choose this Nemesis to add to the game? ,if this would be the destination and home for iconic legends, even they know that. The also received a bunch of backlash for the character himself.I also feel like they should have declined if Capcom wasn't willing to give them original Nemesis.

Killer would only know that if he was already camping or if he could tell the timer was moving slower. Him going to find another survivor will at the very least stop the face camp. Literally nothing would change in that scenario.
you underestimate how fast survivors go to the hook. and how willing the are to literally stay there despite being in a chase.

guess not... but the description does say it stuns the killer.

Hi, and welcome to Dbd btw, Lucky. I'd like to say I play Killer and Survivor both pretty regularly and have reached the top as both. When you've got friends and you're talking to each other, or become a really highly skilled Surv, you realize it's actually survivor sided. That's because "looping" is a thing and while I don't do it because I find it boring, horrible design and just unfun on both sides, some loops are literally impossible to be caught at unless you make a mistake.
Dunno how to quote multiple people properly yet, but are some of you freaking serious? Camping is absolutely a problem, especially if you're caught quickly. I assume you turned on the game to play, not sit staring at the killer on the hook. I agree it's selfish to off yourself or DC, but I honestly can't blame people because there is NOTHING fun about it.
To the people saying the hook idea has been tried already: Where exactly was the abuse wherein the timer returns to normal when a survivor is ALSO in the vicinity? This stops the abuse and gives the killer more incentive not to camp.
Sometimes, you can take being camped as a moment of pride, sure. But when it's 30 seconds into the game and you get surprised by a Tinkerer Bubba and face camped, that's not fun. Getting yanked off in front of the killer to immediately go down again, is not fun. This is a new player, this is the target audience developers are supposed to be appealing to. Telling them to just "git gud" or deal with it when it's blatantly NOT FUN is not how a game should operate.
timer goes back to normal = killer knows for a fact someone is around and camps while looking for them.
survivors already loop around the hook, which is worse for the hooked.

There's no perk to give other killers traps to place around the map. There are a bunch of perks (including Insidious which is in the base game) that removes any killers terror radius to make them a stealth killer. Spine Chill wasn't created specifically to counter Wraith when Insidious was also in the game.
only insidious.
literally, only insidious.
spine chill was created as a wraith counter. because at that point, bhvr believed in having hard counters to killers (which is why you can burn wraith and nurse) that is the truth.

2 traps basekit has some merit to it, since with 1 trap basekit he can't do anything, but given too many traps that leads to shenanigan's and being too readily able to make you claim on the map too fast into the game,
so having 2 trap basekit but better trap spawns / better ways to get traps and consistent trap amounts are all the buffs trapper would need since it would accomplish the following
- cause less variation in gameplay, a hardcap of total traps would be ideal since right now it seems to be like 5-6 on the map but you can bring in an extra 3 traps with addons meaning you have either 10 to play with or only 6, which is too varied, now every match is limited to 8 traps but he has more access to them and can use them better since he is no longer limited by 1 trap capacity
- frees up addon slots, if you don't have a bag addon you can't physically play trapper he goes from being a killer to being one of the worst killers in the game by far without any bags, and he does have some decent addons but can barely ever afford to use them, this frees up an addon slot much like how wraith received windstorm basekit (twice)
- better trap spawns/better ways to get traps means that the trapper wouldn't have to go into the corner of the map to get traps which in some games mean a certain number of traps are unusable/unreachable/not worth the time investment so they are never used or you can heavily risk losing the game just to get them
but having more than those 2 traps is acceptable within a certain limit like maybe having 3 traps basekit but 4+ traps is too many and gives him far too much starting power and shutdown potential without as much of an investment of his time
You don't actually think this clip proves anything right?
kate literally stayed there doing nothing while letting him set it up. also, this only even mattered because she was the last survivor left AND she cornered herself AND didn't just run away.
also, you give up on map pressure with your traps to *checks notes* waste a bunch of time setting up and picking back up a bunch of traps in order to down 1 person.
you cannot replicate what he did there unless it's a VERY, VERY peculiar scenario
-
Nope. All you know is that they are playing on a different platform.
unless they use chat. then you know.

simply because of how rare she is.

There is no reason for a limit. You can give trapper all his traps at the start of the game... and he will still be a B tier killer at best.
@Sluzzy said:
It would definitely be out of balance. There's a reason they haven't done that, he could instantly block off half of the map. Doing so should come at a high price. Imagine blocking an entire map with 5 gens still remaining. His power is like an insta-down, with no counterplay when an structure is secured with bear traps. Have you ever been chased by trapper and he had everything trapped? That should come at a price. He needs to find his traps so he can't simply baracade half the map instantly.

ergo, spine chill was created to counter wraith specifically. like small game to counter trapper.

Right, so if someone dead bards through a trap in front OR behind they can drop the pallet by which point I am already walking to gain distance on them. If they don’t same thing. Point being (yet again) that they A) didn’t get to use the pallet and hardly gained distance B) didn’t get to drop the pallet on top of my trap because it wasn’t placed in the center.
My question to you is what does that have to with with anything in relation to how you personally feel about DH? I see you defending it so I am not sure why you feel the need to judge how I play when I was simply pointing out that IMO that is where people have issue with it?
If a survivor is being chased and you are about to get a hit on them, I can guarantee you 110% they will not have time to both, drop the pallet and vault. Regardless of where that trap is.
Also, PS I am not sure how old you are but learn some forum etiquette. You sound very condescending and I’m not just talking about your response to mine.
so if someone dead bards through a trap in front OR behind they can drop the pallet
no. they won't drop the pallet if they dead harded over a trap...
they either A) dead hard over a trap
or B) drop the pallet over the trap to be able to vault it
B doesn't happen unless you're bad at placing traps. so they deadhard. and now you have to go around while they gain distance.
My question to you is what does that have to with with anything in relation to how you personally feel about DH? I see you defending it so I am not sure why you feel the need to judge how I play when I was simply pointing out that IMO that is where people have issue with it?
What does the ability to dead hard over a trap has to do with me saying that you shouldn't be able to dead hard over a trap because it's unfair?
I wonder...
If a survivor is being chased and you are about to get a hit on them, I can guarantee you 110% they will not have time to both, drop the pallet and vault. Regardless of where that trap is.
I never said they had time to do it in those circunstances. don't strawman.
and if they have deadhard, we are back to the previous scenario.
Also, PS I am not sure how old you are but learn some forum etiquette. You sound very condescending and I’m not just talking about your response to mine.

You’re expecting too much out of solo queue players.
You’re left with three options now.
Pound out gens and let the dude die.
Have a good level of communication to where a third guy disarms traps while the other saves the hooked.
Having dead hard which also requires you to get injured along the way, if you’re healthy you’re simply dead.
Im still left with the question of why is dead harding over a trap such a big deal when it’s one singular perk that has a requirement. Some perks counter certain killers and that’s just part of the game.
I don't think I am. I've seen solo players do very coordinated stuff before.
It's a camping killer, so yes. Pounding gens is the normal counter.
Not communication, understanding.
both of you having dead hard. otherwise you're just leaving the guy to die.
several perks have a requirement. most of them...I think... and getting injured is just part of regular play, it WILL happen.
no perk should beat a killer power 100% of the time. afaik, dead hard is the only one that does.

Whats the point that you are trying to make? Cuz I seem to have missed it.
Did you not just say that placement of a trap doesn’t change anything? Cuz I believe that is what I responded to. Dead Hard (again) hasn’t and doesn’t bother me. I am simply pointing out where people might see it as a problem which is at a pallet.
You can still trap the center and get value out of it. A healthy survivor doesn’t have DH. So again, I am not sure why you are trying to make this a point when it really is up to the player and the exhaustion perks they are working against. If I find out they have SB or Lithe, why wouldn’t I trap the center? Smdh
you said
Technically a survivor who has Dead Hard active should be immune to anything that would otherwise injure that survivor. That is what the perk is meant to do.
This is also why I also do not set traps inside the pallet but rather in front or behind a pallet.
which reads as "I put traps on the outside of pallets because of dead hard". Now, maybe that's not what you meant, but that's how it reads as.
and you don't trap the center because they just drop the pallet and vault... ######### do you think they would do? sit and die?
@Nebula said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2285302#Comment_2285302
I once again urge you to read my full post before you respond.
It is a very common strategy for trappers to trap every entrance to a basement besides one, let the person go down to get the save and then trap the only exit out.
The only way for the survivors to get out in these situations is to have dead hard.
then he is camping... and just like any other camping killer, it's very hard to get a proper save.
and someone else can disarm the traps after trapper goes down. there's still a simple way out that doesn't require dead harding over a trap.

Point being that even if they drop the pallet the trap remains. So yes while you aren’t changing anything it is a better option that if they were to drop it on top of it. Why? Because it is now an unsafe loop for them, and you can simple go around.
This applies to every pallet except shack pallet. Where you would literally have to go around to catch up with that survivor.
and again... nothing to do with dead hard.
It's like you know you're supposed to not trap the center, but never bothered to learn why and assumed it was dead hard... it isn't. if dh was never in the game, you still wouldn't trap the center.
that doesn't matter...because with dead hard, they just won't drop the pallet. and now you need to walk around the loop while they are gaining all the distance they lost during the chase. and the pallet wasn't even used

I’m aware you can walk around the stairs one and you must not have read my whole post as I said that he trapped the only door out and the only window out
then just disarm it. how is dead hard helping you there?
you wanna dead hard in, wait 40 seconds, unhook and dead hard out?
trapper camping isn't much different than any other killer without an instadown camping. if he wants to be near the hook to get at least a trade... he will. and like any other camping killer, it's very hard to get a proper save.
-
@Nebula said:
I’ll play devils advocate here.
I played a game against trapper yesterday where he put someone in the basement of Azarov’s main building trapped the window, put two on the stairs and waited for someone to go down for the save while he put one in the only doorway in.
The only way that the two people could have gotten out is if one had dead hard.
I understand that the “counter play” to this is simply to let the dude in the basement die and pound gens, but I feel like a lot of people don’t realize how boring this is for every single survivor in the game. Dead hard is the only perk that allows you to escape these types of situations while also trying to be altruistic.
you can walk around the traps in the stairs. because trapper literally needs to be sideways to even put a trap on stairs. and if he can fit there, so can you.
also, use the door.
