  • I don't usually like just saying this but...

    Untitled Image

  • there are trap spots that survivors can't interact with the traps without activating them (like the windows in haddonfield for instance)

they are probably your best bet.

this happens with good traps vs solos aswell.

I don't see how in the current day and age a robot would be able to do all the actions a killer does in a match.

Also, I would not like a robot in DBD, tbh.

you clearly never seen, the classic, chopping mall...

killer robots are a thing in movies since a long time ago.

We have the terminators, Ash from Alien(and other androids in the sequels), the sentinels from x-men, the sentinels from the matrix, the everything from I robot... the list goes on...

you know we get killers and survivors from fiction and not the real world right? who cares about current day and age tech?

  • it is not

Its just to encourage new players to play the tutorial. I'm pretty sure David is unlocked for new players once you complete the tutorial as well or maybe it was just a cosmetic. Either way the tutorial doesn't take long to do, helps new players understand the game and give them a space to feel like they arent being pressured by other (perhaps more experienced) players and gives them a healthy boost to their bloodpoints. Not everything is a major issue that everyone makes it out to be... lol.

then they should lock the game behind the tutorial, not wraith of all things...

  • ... what?

    why is that a thing?

she should probably play the tutorial anyway... 200k bps is a nice thing to have.

do you really not see the contradiction here?

  • 1 - They got buffs.

2 - People got better at them

The purples in mine are the same between p3 50 and just level 50, both have 3. The only rarity increase is 5 yellow on my p3 while my 50 has 4.

bloodwebs don't have a fixed amount of node of each rarity

and you literally averaged 11 brown nodes on the bloodwebs you showed

also, literally at the prestige message

    • Slightly increases the odds of receiving more Nodes of higher rarities on the Bloodweb .

edit: Found a mclean reply on the reddit post above

Howdy. I was in the middle of a game and didn't explain myself that well. What I was trying to get at was that the rarity bonuses might be too low to notice, so for most players, the outfit is the point of the prestige. I wouldn't currently recommend grinding the prestige to players only interested in better bloodwebs.

so it does have an effect, but the effect is very low

Ash p3 50, Kate just 50 - both maxed on perks.

    Ash - 1 iri, 3 purple, 6 green, 5 yellow, 10 brown, 1 event

    Kate - 1 iri, 3 purple, 6 green, 4 yellow, 12 brown

Also, McLean said when you prestige it doesn't really impact the bloodweb.

    https://m.twitch.tv/clip/EsteemedHeartlessPeanutBleedPurple

That can't be the case, since it clearly says it increases the rarity of the things in the bloodweb.

and we can see that when we look at yours.

you get a more browns while p3 gets more purples.

    @Mr_K you absolute madman... damn...

That's a lot to look at.

    let's go over the basics.

    the averages.

    Killers

    brown - 7.6

    yellow - 6.6

    green - 6

    purple - 4.9

red - 0.96 (probably because perks took the 1 red spot)

    p3 survivors

    brown - 7.2

    yellow - 8.4

    green - 6.7

    purple - 3

    red - 0.73

    p0 survivors

    brown - 8.5

    yellow - 7.4

    green - 6.75

    purple - 2.75

    red - 0.63

but averages can't tell the full story. here's the most repeated number

    killer

    brown - 8 (11/23)

    yellow - 6 (6/23)

    green - 6 (19/23)

    purple - 6 (10/23)

    red - 1 (22/23)

    p3 survivors

    brown - 6 (4/11)

    yellow - 8 (4/11)

    green - 7 (6/11)

    purple - 2 (5/11)

    red - 1 (8/11)

    p0 survivors

    brown - 9 (4/8)

    yellow - 6 and 9 (2/8 each)

    green - 7 (4/8)

    purple - 2 (5/8)

    red - 1 (5/8)

should I put this all in a grid so it's easier to see? probably... but it's 1:00 am and I wanna go to bed.

but, to me it's kinda clear.

prestige will reduce the number of browns and increase purples on average.

maybe the averages between survivor and killer work different. because killers purple averaged quite higher on the purple over the survivors.

the weird thing to me is how consistent green is on all levels... you would think my p2 killers would get more greens, but nope... apparently it's just browns and yellows vs purples...

you can't bait dead hard for distance.

For those of us who only play DBD on console can you please explain what the keys you push do. I am completely lost on what people are talking about like holding M1 etc

m1 is the regular action button. does gens on survivors, attacks on killer.

e is X on playstation and A on xbox. the default dead hard button

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2295829#Comment_2295829

Using this logic, use at a distance, how do you counter any exhaustion perk?

not "at a distance" FOR distance.

and as I said in another reply...

    it isn't equivalent.

other exhaustion perks get used right away or early on. you can't hold on to sprint burst or lithe without sacrificing something else in return. meaning you, as a killer, only wasted a bit of time before seeing the exhaust perk in action. upon which you decide if you have the time to continue chasing the survivor or not.

dead hard on the other hand, is only used after 2 chases. 1 chase for the first health stage, and then the second one. meaning at that point you already invested a lot of time on downing this survivor.

this is why they are not equivalent. and why at high ranks you see 4 dead hards and not 4 sprint bursts

and, when someone said how sprint burst is worse than dead hard for the killer...

I'll never get these... sprint burst is very easy to deal with.

As in, if you can counter it because you are using one of the many killers with some sort of a speed boost, counter it. (Billy, wraith, nurse, oni, blight, legion, spirit, twins(victor), to a smaller degree clown and bubba, also freddy and demo depending on where they can teleport)

If you are a killer with traps set up to deal with it, sb means nothing. (Trapper and hag, technically twins if you have one of the brothers there, also zombies.)

If you have some slowdown that applies to the one with sprint burst, use it. (Clown, freddy, hag with slowdown traps)

If you are a ranged killer, hit the shot.(huntress, deathslinger, corrupted plague)

If you have stealth, use it well. (Ghostface, pig, demo, wraith, anyone with a stealth perk)

Meaning what? Michael, doctor, pyramid head, trickster and nemesis that don't have something on their basekit to deal with sb on the spot?

Well, at least you know right away to go for someone else, instead of wasting time on someone just so they can press a button and reset the last chase.

Edit: oh yeah... this all disregarding any killer can just equip mindbreaker.

What I am saying is if a killer is blaming a loss on a DH, they are not shining a light on errors in other parts of their game play. Not chasing well in general can exacerbate the effect of an exhaustion perk.

If it takes a killer fifty seconds to get a hit on average, I could see how a DH is really harmful to their already porous gameplay.

the issue is, dead harding for distance has no counters.

both can play perfectly, that is still the case.

if your counter is "win the game despite it", you don't have a counter.

  • I don't think it makes any difference if noed activates or not at that point... either the gates are close enough to patrol, or they aren't. noed won't change much.

curving with billy, nurse's muscle memory, blight just in general, where you can dash with pig, running with bubba's chainsaw around obstacles...

lots of things can be learned from a practice mode

  • I see a lot more bubbas and doctors after their reworks.

I also see freddy in kinda the same frequency...

I never saw nurse before crossplay anyway so...

I rarely see clown, but it was the same before his rework

Bummer. I fear this is complicated more then a direct answer: Bait out dead hard by imitating m1s (janky movement, faking abilities/pressing M2).

If the killer has to deal with the consequences of a dead hard and lost, it was probably the culmination of many mistakes. Not DH.

Learn tiles. Learn the respective killers ability. Learn to read a survivor.

you can't bait dead hard for distance.

either they are in range for an attack and would have dead harded anyway. or they aren't in range and wouldn't dead hard anyway.

what you are asking for... is for the survivor to screw up their dead hard.

I understand the perception. I'd just argue it's equivalent to the other exhaustions. A properly used Sprint Burst or Lithe can mean it will take 20-30 seconds of holding W just to start looping a tile.

    it isn't equivalent.

other exhaustion perks get used right away or early on. you can't hold on to sprint burst or lithe without sacrificing something else in return. meaning you, as a killer, only wasted a bit of time before seeing the exhaust perk in action. upon which you decide if you have the time to continue chasing the survivor or not.

I'm not getting away with extra loops because I can press E. I'm intentionally greeding because I can. I don't understand why so many people think there's no intent behind pathing. Take away Dead Hard and I drop the pallet sooner. You still don't get a hit.

Oh, dont worry, they will nerf Dead Hard at some point. And then you will reconsider your opinion if you want to verse Sprint Burst. Sprint Burst, unlike Dead Hard, makes every area safe, because you can actually gain distance and make it to a Pallet or Window, unlike Dead Hard, which is not useful in Deadzones.

And IMO it is more frustrating to approach a Gen, having the Survivor sitting on it as long as possible and making it to safety regardless due to Sprint Burst.

All of those things should just be expected. They are normal parts of the game. Except for hitting on the hook. It makes me wonder why the killer is irritated with someone who didn't tbag and wasn't hard to catch. Feels underserved.

Stop thinking the killer is irritated. And suddenly you might just realize another reason for why they are doing it.

  • @C3Tooth said:

Technically...traps spread out is to not letting him 3 Gens every game. It force you to have 1-2 traps per area. You just cant ask the Devs to give him double Purple bag, when they still refuse to give him half a Brown bag.

Trapper's power is actually one of the strongest, none gives you "free hook" as much as Beartrap. You takes 30s to injure someone then continue chasing them? Suddenly someone else trapped nearby, thats a free hook.

Its about his RNG make his power unreliable. Even with his recently fixed RNG, they still able to escape in 1 try with 17% chance.

I would remove RNG and give survivor skill check, if they success, they escape. Starts with 10 degree skill check, +10 degree for each time they fail (consider DS skill check is 30 degree which people still missed sometime).

His traps spawn closer to middle

Still start with 1, carry 2

But with Ghostface it's as if they're sniffing his cologne even though there's like 20+ meters away.

you also stalk at the same speed no matter the distance. it's a fair trade-off

    Let me expand your list

11: Tbagging, flashlight clicking, emoting, taunting are just gameplay tools to distract killer, make them to change focus, bait on chase, force them to make mistakes and lose macro pressure

12: Tbagging at the exit gates. Again nothing really toxic with it. Game is definitely lacking tools that helps players communicate with each other. That's why tbagging is universal and simple tool to do it. Survivors tbag each other thanking for unhooking, healing or just greeting. So tbagging at the exit gates is just the way to thank killer player for the match: ""gg fellow killer. thank you very much for interesting and exciting game. You did well. Good luck in the next match. Please respond with nodding". Killers shouldn't be offended by this. Please come to to the exit gates to say gg. Hiding in the basement is just rude

13: Flashlight saves, sabo, head-on, meta perks. It's just game-related tools. Nothing toxic about it.

I think we all should agree that nothing toxic can happen in dbd match. Everything is allowed. Toxicity is made up term created by sensitive people

are you seriously trying to tell me that survivors waiting the entire end game collapse inside the exit gates, just to teabag the killer and leave... are not doing it to be toxic? for real?

Aight I'll apologise for the loads and some bit. I'm Irish and if you dont know, Irish people tend to be dramatic per se with their language.

For example, we may say "I'm starving" when we're slightly hungry or "Its lashing rain" when its slightly raining.

As for the not toxic vs toxic part, I think it makes a bit more sense when I mention the bit above, as when I say loads, I forget not every person here is Irish and over dramatize things as we do, so loads to me is equivalent to some while to you not as much.

    Otherwise, apologies again and g'day.

there's nothing to apologize about. It's just different usage of language. As long as we can clear any confusion, it's all good.

Ah yes because loads must mean everyone.

Also if it's on anyone it's on OP to prove killers dont do this for toxicity other than saying what they think if anyone. They're the one that made the original 'controversial' claim, they're the one that should prove that their claim is right.

    loads =/= some.

some implies a small quantity. saying "Some people do X", implies you can find people doing it, but they are a minority.

loads implies a large quantity. "loads of people do X" implies that they are either the majority, or close to it.

and OP has already made their case. They aren't saying "no killer does this to be toxic". they are saying "Killers aren't necessarily trying to be toxic when they do X".

and then they gave examples of non toxic reasons why a killer would do those things. They already proven their point.
