there are a lot of perks that are useless as they are now, for both sides.. it would fit them well to rework them all before selling new stuff. but... where is the money in that ?
Yeah, but the more perks exist, more of them have to regularly be nerfed, buffed, or have bugs fixed. That's a lot of time and effort that BHVR needs to pay for, to their employees. Money could be directed more into customization -> cosmetics, custom moris, lobbies, etc. Or even new game modes, which could attract more people into the game, including those that have grown tired of the only existing mode.

so your solution is to revert her back to her weak state. her weak state is fun for survivors, not killers (unless its the ones playing for the sole purpose of making survivor games enjoyable). Dont revert her back to ass. nerf her condem a bit and buff her chase. shes a hit and run killer because her chase is trash. problem solved.
No, that's not what I want. I want them to revert her parts that made her skill based and interesting to play as. Having to rely on an iri addon was lame and made her weak without it. I do not want that back. TV cooldowns need to be smaller than with old Onryo, but I do think that her condemning mechanic should be like before - condeming only locally, not globally map-wide.
And sure, I'd love her chase to be buffed as well. But condemning is unique and shouldn't be neglected.
Honestly, what I want from Onryo is for her to be fun for both sides. I remember some of old Onryo's matches where I versed her and she used the iri-tape addon (because it was a necessity for making condeming viable). When I versed a good Onryo, the matches were FUN for me. Oh my god, I loved the thrill. "Will I make it to the TV before she catches me"? Will my teammates? God, I loved that. And in the matches I remember, there wasn't even excessive slugging. Onryos played skillfully. I'm sure they enjoyed it as much as I did.
That's what I want. Onryo players to have fun zoning survivors, using skill to push survivors into areas with TVs, plan and spread condemn strategically, instead of just teleporting to any TV mindlessly, and condemning everyone on the map (unless they're carrying a TV).
Man, I want Onryo to be fun so baddddd. For both sides. Current Onryo sucks for both sides (unless the killer wants an easy win). Old Onryo with certain adjustments would be peak of excitement to both play and face. 😊

As an Onryo main I'm 100% with you. Condemn needs to take skill again but they shouldn't go completely back to pre-rework where the TV times are so long that you pretty much have to run Iri-tape. I think there is just a portion of new Onryo players that enjoy the easy soloq wins and don't want to spend the time to become skilled at Onryo in her old form, even though pre-rework Onryo was super fun and rewarding compared to this horrible rework.
Yes, that's exactly what I'm talking about 🙂
Onryo in her current state doesn't really need planning or skill, whereas I enjoyed the old Onryo. I wasn't really that good with her and didn't use Iri tape, but I loved zoning survivors into areas with TVs during chases. It felt very rewarding and skill based.
-
I've just run into this issue, as well! For every character (survivor and killer), it shows that I have 1 more outfit piece than I actually have. E.g. Freddy 1/1, Quentin 1/1, Laurie 1/4 (I don't own her store cosmetics yet)

survivors when bhvr actually make a weak killer's ability useful. literally the only thing i read from these posts are survivors wanting her reverted back to her weak state
I wrote in my post that I played as her. This whole post has spawned mostly from me playing as her, not against her. And it's not that we want her to be reverted to state where she depended on an iri addon. We want her to be both more fun for survivors (incentives to hook, rather than just slug, survivors hate being slugged non-stop;; strategical condemning, rather than map-wide), and more fun to play as (strategical condemning that requires planning and skill).

Both formats are valid when you move the names from cultures/languages such as Korean, Japanese or Chinese for example into English or Western format in general. For example, if you have the game in Korean you will see Yunjin is named 이윤진 (Lee Yunjin), following the Korean name format in its own language with the family name first. In the case of Chinese names, some people still say the family name first when introducing themselves to non-Chinese people still, and others don’t. You will see some Chinese people are even addressed by their family name sometimes regardless, so calling Feng Min by Feng is perfectly valid (Westerns do it too right? Ripley for instance).
At the end of the day, both are correct and it’s not that big of a deal, it’s not disrespectful at all. Have a nice day!
I know how names are used in Asian cultures, but like the comment below you mentioned, it's about consistency. If BHVR had been applying the Last -> First name to all of the Asian survivors, then I wouldn't care as much. Kimura Yui, Lee Yun-Jin. But every (correct me if I'm wrong) survivor has the same format (First -> Last name), including the Asian survivors, except for Min Feng. And I'm talking about the English version of DBD.
Imagine counting from twenty to twenty nine, and all of the numbers follow the "twenty x" pattern, but only the number 27 is written and spoken as "seven twenty". It really feels off, creates confusion and makes things harder. Like, either make all of the Asian DBD survivors follow the Last->First name pattern, or all of them follow the First->Last name pattern.

She's feng min. Leave it alone and focus on more important things like game balance. Not inconsiquential things like people's feelings. Don't waste the developers time with stuff that has 0 bearing on anything.
I don't think the name fixing should take too much of their time..? Unless I'm wrong. If there is a reason why she is the only survivor with last -> first name order, I would love to hear it. People do care about "feng" being pronounced properly (unlike the popular "fang"), so I'm sure people also care about her name being written like others'.
At the end of the day though, it's up to the devs.

Ehhhh pyramid head pretty much denies the majority of survivor builds as well and he does it even worse lol
I also feel like his caging should not bypass perks. Caging itself saves a lot of time, you don't have to waste time picking up, carrying and hooking, as well as risk sabo plays, taking hits etc. And the torment, besides the caging, allows for the mini-mori. That's already a great advantage.
Cages not applying hook perks only makes the tunneling easier.

funny. i did say that survivors would complain about a viable mori killer pre-rework. I guess i was right in the end. I think otz said she was C-tier killer. Before her changes, limited TV radius meant that you need slug people next to TV's, let people pick up the survivor and TP onto two survivors. survivor said this was unfun strategy.
I would say that current onryo has less reasons to slug then previous one. I rarely slug with current onryo. there is no reason too slug.
I agree that there are less reasons to slug than with previous Onryo, but nonetheless there is still no reason not to slug, as I wrote in my post. If you hook, you potentially activate perks like dead hard or off the record that will harm you later in chase, and you can avoid them by slugging. If you go for condemn kills, then hook kills feel superfluous. Unnecessary effort. (yes, you gain bloodpoints by hooking, but I feel like people care much more about kills than a bit extra BP)
I've seen people complain about Onryos just slugging and not hooking. I've also seen a strong Onryo main streamer just slug and not hook. Now I understand why. Other killers have to hook because they have no other means of killing survivors. Onryo can slug and spread more condemn, and once it's built up enough, they can kill.
I feel it's noble that you personally don't slug with Onryo, but that won't stop other people. Condemn killing is very straightforward, hooking just adds unnecessary complication to the otherwise elegant simplicity.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/399922/visionary-buff
Deja Vu is the perk that makes Visionary obsolete. While this is a nice buff, it will still fall short I think... this feels like it would be a nice buff to Rookie Spirit, as that perk gives pseudo tracking of the killer, and this would increase the value of that tracking to be worth considering.
Tbh I feel like Deja Vu is a perk I'd be happy to run even without the repair boost, the permanent 3 gen reveal in of itself is pretty good, however if we don't have an intention of nerfing Deja Vu (which I don't), it needs an additional effect giving it value.
Off top of my head, I'd give Visionary maybe something like: -
- Remove the cooldown.
- It also reveals the Gate Levers within a 32m radius during the entire trial.
- For each gen you personally complete you gain a token. For each token you gain a 5% boost to opening the gate.
This would make it a weaker version of Wake Up and Deja Vu, but it allows you to have the subdued benefits of both for only 1 perk slot. it would allow you to plan which gens you might wanna save for an easy path to gate, which fits the description of the perk quite nicely and provides some options. Range would be nice with Open handed.
Those are some nice ideas! Thank you for sharing :)

Nurse has currently like 4-5 decent addons and you are complaining about the green lunge addon? ^^ Come on man... It is not even that good... You need to realiser that her blink can get blocked by the survivors hit ox therefore you cannot blink exact enough to not lunge, the Lunge is basically required to get hits consistently.
Whatever helps her correct her mistakes is a huge problem. She's already too strong and ignores basic game/loop mechanics.
-
I completely agree. Not only does she bypass pallets and windows, she also has 2 blinks, where the 2nd one allows her to correct her 1st one. But not just that, she can lunge as well, which is an additional correction. And that's not all, folks. She even has a green addon that extends her lunge.
I completely agree, Nurse should not be able to lunge after blink attacks.
-
I enjoy playing as Pig and versing her, as long as she doesn't have a nasty playstyle.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/399737/what-killers-are-fun
You are not going to have a conclusion out of such question.=)
50 different players gonna answer 50 different killers.
Haha maybe, Jonah bro. Still, it's been very interesting seeing what killers are most picked by people in like/dislike category. :)
Maybe this will serve as a guide for BHVR which type of killers we mostly gravitate to, so they can design future killers more according to what we find fun. I feel like in recent years, Chucky and Wesker have been huge wins, and the Knight and the Skull Merchant have shown what players dislike.
-
Today I actually experienced this bug myself - the killer had NOED, and I searched the whole map for it, and couldn't find it. The aura is indeed bugged, it's old NOED now.
-
I've has this same issue yesterday. The center side of the gen couldn't be interacted with. The other 2 were fine.
-
I've had the same happen to me. The last few days I have been mostly matched against killers whose skills were really low, and could only get 1k or 0k. It definitely feels wrong.
-
I feel like a survivor getting found (or even injured) within 5-10 seconds of the start of the match is a problem. The ability to cross that much distance within 5 seconds and get a huge pressure (at the start of the match) is a huge imbalance. Plus, it's very demotivating for the whole survivor team, especially the person that gets injured within 5-10 seconds. Do you know what they tend to do? Give up on hook. And then the whole team crumbles...
-
@nimalar said:
I had the same problem with Hex: Plaything today. No aura anywhere, then I randomly found and cleansed a hex totem and it turned out to be my Plaything.
Oh now that you mentioned it. I think I also saw a streamer a few days ago cleansing a totem, and it turning up to be their plaything totem. So the aura is bugged with NOED, Plaything and Kindred at least...

Demogorgon has to place two portals before he can even teleport anywhere.
Also are we complaining that Trapper can place traps at the start of the match?
You misread/misinterpreted what I wrote xD
I meant if Demo and Trapper can't just reach survivors easily at the start, then why are OP killers like Blight and Nurse able to? :p
-
@Crowman said:
Onyro's and Dredge's powers not only build up a second effect, but are on demand map wide teleports.
Nurse's blinks have a max range and Blight can't go through walls.
Xeno has to physically move to a control panel as he can't just decide to teleport from his current location.
What about the insane pressure at the start of the match? Why does Demogorgon doesn't have it then? Or Trapper.
-
@Coffeecrashing said:
I think the opposite should happen. Each time a survivor stops an action, it should increase the chances of a guaranteed failed skill check, to discourage survivors from excessively pre leaving generators to hide. This would help fix the 3 gen problem, which is partially caused by survivors excessively hiding.
You do realize that survivors leave gens to go save a teammate, because the killer is approaching, or because they go to the exit gates while the teammate finishes the gen? Insta-fail skill checks should not exist, because they are uncounterable. If they worked like Overcharge, survivors would still be able to fail them (but that would be on the skill of survivor, not an RNG that you cannot do anything about).
Also, killers nowadays have a plethora of tracking perks, so hiding isn't as viable anymore. :) Nowhere to Hide, Ultimate Weapons, Chucky's perk, etc.
-
The Red Paintbrush addon (iri) could also get a small change, to prevent survivors from just using clocks at the start:
-> make red paintbrush block all of the clocks for 30-60 seconds at the start of the match.

To me, at least 50 perks should become part of the meta
I mean, I agree.... 'cause that would essentially make every perk regularly used, and not a meta :P
-
@Rudjohns said:
I think Leader should also give the boost to
Blessing
Mending
Dealing with killer belongings (when the skull icon appears in the HUD)
And just to bring Leader to the meta, survivors could be affected by multiple Leaders
I don't think Leader should be buffed so much to become a meta perk. Just enough so that it doesn't collect dust on the perk shelves. The stacking might be too much, I feel.
-
@Foempticol said:
Yeah, Resilience and Better than New perk both provide a totem blessing speed boost, so Leader should as well.
Exactly. Maybe a future midchapter could give some extra flavor to these 2 perks, so people find them more appealing to use. :)

I was just browsing through the in-game shop and realized that Gabriel has got only 1 store outfit since release. And it's a set.... (very pretty and cool though, but yeah, you can't combine it with anything)
I really hope BHVR will give some love to him soon 😭
Maybe a really pretty Christmas outfit? 🤩

So since the nerf, MFT has been in a sharp decline of usage, but I've actually been enjoying experimenting with using it recently. My best build thus far is: -
- Made For This
- We're Gonna Live Forever
- Botany Knowledge
- Balanced Landing (or your choice of Exhaustion perk).
It's like a none scummy version of FTP and Buckle Up. Between Botany and WGLF, a slug is healed within 6.4 seconds from full, and a standing heal is 10.67, both of which give you endurance if you complete the heal while injured.
Even if you get interrupted from the heal by taking a hit, you can usually finish it off and get your endurance. Because it's not got the obvious health exchange of FTP, fewer Killers expect it and on top you get the 3% speed from MFT if you tank a hit.
Sure it's not quite as strong as FTP+Buckle Up, and requires more perks, but it does have some niche scenarios that it performs better, and I generally have found it much more fun to use.
Do you have any fun builds that have made use of MFT?
Oh that build actually sounds really fun! Thanks for suggestion, I'll definitely try it out :)
I've only used Dead Hard with MFT a few times since the MFT nerf, it felt nice.

Just unhooked a bot, I had a medkit and We'll Make It, and the bot started to self-heal.
I left the bot in the basement and 30 seconds later it was still healing, and the killer returned and downed it again.
A bit of code that lets the bot recognise what perks the real survivors are playing, and it works out what would take less time to do, that'd be handy.
Yeah, that's really bad. I really hope they do adjust the bots, it would alleviate these painful situations E.E

I think this might have to do with the Lyras being quite more popular than Gabriel... but I agree with you! I really want more cosmetics for Gabriel, especially since he didn't receive any rare outfits on release, and his basic recolors are not distinct enough.
Gabriel is precious and deserves it 😔

I would love another black male survivor, a muscled one sounds really cool! :D More variety is always welcomed, in my opinion. As far as the original survivors go, we've been having a really good variety these years!

I've been wondering about Gabriel. I first thought he is half black, half asian, but then I heard some people say he's hispanic, and now I don't know... he's very adorable though, and a good addition to variety. <3

Lynxi, an amazing Twins main, explains very nicely in this video how she would change Twins. They retain their unique identity, but the problematic things get changed.

Please BHVR don't fundamentally change Twins, they just need some love so they can feel good to play as.

I've had this problem, too. Very counterproductive.

Could we please get banners and avatars for "past content"? Some examples:

- Attack on Titan pfp/banner if we own some skins

And perhaps a bigger punishment in a longer cooldown for Victor getting kicked and perhaps the ability to recall him instead of having to wait for him to be idle for a whole minute.
It would probably make twins stronger but also less annoying to play them.
I agree!

Thank you so much <3

Tombstone Myers is worse than the old moris. Having to jump into lockers healthy just to avoid getting eliminated from the game instantly sucks. Getting caught and moried immediately sucks even more.
Could you at least disable the tombstone addons?
-
@TheArbiter said:
The problem with Onryo seems to be they have no idea how to make her insta kill balanced, either You get condemn stacks too quickly, like how it is now, or you never even get stacks, like how it was before
With Onyro, they just needed to reduce the TV cooldown, because it was awfully big, and nerf the Ring Drawing addon to not affect the dying survivors (they did change this addon). The former caused an over-dependency on the iri addon.
-
One of my favorite things to see when watching a DBD streamer was their devotion and grade. It feels so empty without those. :/
It feels almost the same as if they hid their perks during a match. I hope we can get an option to revert to the old UI.
-
I was gonna suggest to keep Iron Will at -75%, but remove the exhaustion part - it ruins everything.
Also, it has been ages since they BHVR said they would make every survivor equally loud.... I wonder when this will finally be implemented. Jeff players shouldn't suffer just because Jeff is very loud, and killers shouldn't struggle to keep track of Ada players during chase due to how quiet she is.
-
I would love this. There are so many outfits for Chris that I would love to buy. A character being a legendary should not be an obstacle to them having more cosmetics. I agree with your suggestions on how to implement the system.
Also, Chris' face has been in need of readjustment. Jill's and Claire's faces got readjusted and look much, much better.
-
Honestly, it's not the Hawkins' fault. The problems with placing down turrets exist on every map. Too restrictive. Similarly to Knight's placement of the guards, too finnicky and restrictive. They both need to be improved in general.

I’m a Jonah main as for some reason he gets so much hate. Even people who haven’t read the lore seem to have this hate for him. Always baffled me.
last negative comment I saw was on Twitch where someone wrote they always tunnel him and there are no useful Jonah players. 😢
I’m also a Billy main so at least that balances it out on the killer side.
I've heard many people say Jonah is a "war criminal", and it sucks every time I hear it. I read his lore, all he did was break codes. He didn't know the codes were fake/decoy. Nowhere have I found it mentioning that it was him who ordered the awful things. And with logic, one could conclude that it were his higher ups that did it, the people who put him on and off cases. He had no motivation or authorities to do it.
Sadly, people just parrot the lies and don't bother doing their own research. :/ I guess hating is how people deal with stress, I dunno...
I would really love it if BHVR would make a tweet about this, debunking the lies. He's such a fine character in my opinion. He needs more love ☺️
At least he's been getting beautiful cosmetics, I appreciate that.
