I get what you mean but in every game people only use the good stuff to win. It is what it is.
This is super true. Look at something like WZ sure there are literally thousands of gun and attachment combos but if you don't run the meta you are putting yourself at a disadvantage. Can you still win? Yes but it's harder and you have handicapped yourself to do it.

Remove invincibility.
It's absurd really. Dodge moves are common in most games, but you still have to dodge away from the attack. Not INTO it. And no one has ever considered that unreasonable. But somehow, this move gives you free invincibility even if you screw up that obvious requirement. That's not skill, that's just a bailout.
This is my change as well. DH should not absorb a hatchet, make a bear trap not activate or somehow tank through a spear gun shot.

What is happening in this video!? I mean that David was throwing right?

Don't know why his new add-on stops him from picking up traps.
I get that it's a trade-off add-on but it seems like this will only work for builds where you set up the perfect 3 gen from the start. This is cool in theory but if you misplace a single trap of the survivors spot it early it's almost worse than just having to go get them at the start of the game.

Dead hard is okish, should be once per game though. But BT needs changing lasts way too long, some conditions need to be put on it much like DS. Like standing still in the killers terror radius, or making it a Dead Hard effect where you get 1 charge that lasts 2 seconds that allows you to take a hit after the save.
So the survivor cant just no brain a killer with the hit and has to actively mind game the killers attack.
I don't think it needs to be once a game but I would be fine making it run on tokens. Maybe start the trial with 3 tokens or something like that. Killer would need to mentally keep track of survivors and how many times they used it, which adds to the mind game and survivors need to only use it when absolutely required not just anytime they want to gain distance.

FFS guys....
120 seconds to die on a hook
80 seconds to solo a generator
4 survivors, only 5 gens
I don't care that you find gens boring... the right call is to punish the killer by boring them to death with an empty game of one death.
going on 6 years and people still refuse to do what they're supposed to do...
Well said
TLDR: Do gens

Holy ######### I've never seen so many back to back games where a killer facecamps a minute into a game. This is ridiculous and just proves the point: devs' lack of willingness to bother fixing this, rather than being lazy and letting it destroy games is out of hand now.
At higher MMR, it's pretty much all you see now. It's not fun, it's not fair, and it's making the game incredibly difficult to swallow. Either SBMM needs to be turned off, or this ######### needs dealing with.
Fun fact there is a way to deal with it...do gens.
-
Would brightness overcome actual particle density though? Doesn't matter how bright a monitor is you won't see through an 80% opacity wall. Might have that % backwards but you get it.
-
I would say leave Fog offerings but actually, make them worthwhile. I've seen some old screens from the start of the game and it looks like Fog was much darker and dense, I would love to bring that back. Assuming what I saw was a real thing.
-
Lot likely. Hackers stream matches and never get banned so I don't think you'll see anything for something like this.
-
I've been working to level Pinhead since release and don't get much time to play so I have only a handful of perks and NOED isn't one yet, despite being level 60ish on him at this point. With SBMM I have been doing pretty well but the second I have NOED it's going on simply because I also don't have any slowdown perks unlocked except Ruin 1 which isn't enough.
As a 50/50 player, I see a lot of NOED but don't run it too often simply because I do better with that slot as something else. But until I level this guy up NOED is on simply because I'm tired on the gen rush and have no other options. Hoarder is still locked too which suuuuucks.

Trickster, Huntress, Nurse, Blight... Anything with a aim basically is worse on console.
Sad to say but there's nothing to do about it.
Not totally true, look at how games like COD, Apex, and others tackle it. They have separate settings for ADS, multiple ramp curves to choose from and many more fine-tuning options to work with.
Now that doesn't make a controller the same as a really good M&K setup but it certainly bridges the gap really well in the FPS world.
Or they could allow native K&M support for console and the problem is gone instantly.
-
One other I thought of was leading the killer to the other survivor who simply refuses to do anything but hide in the corner of the map. Nothing is more annoying than a corner camper who just gives up after 1 or 2 sacrifices regardless of Gens or anything else.
But oh boy does it feel good to find the hatch with a key and nope out of there leaving them all alone with the killer. I always watch those EGC and pray they get slugged to a bleed out.

90% of the perks in this game are bandaid fix
Also feels like 90% of the perks are useless IMO

@WeenieDog said:
They could add something like 'm2 sensitivity ' so it would be easier to aim/track, instead of the being like
Lower sense: track better but move with tank controls around regular tiles
Though the fact that its cross play mean we cant do anything for console without thinking about how it affects pc when it comes to balance decisions like the popular " make trickster faster".
This is all I want. The controls for normal movement and M1 are fine on the console but the hatchet, chain, gun control are just slow and laggy IMO. I play at 100% sensitivity and when I jump to an M2 weapon it literally feels like my sensitivity drops to 20%.
-
Obviously every scenario is a bit different but I'm always trying to escape. Could be looking for the hatch, setting up an exit gate escape, etc.
Just because the team has lost doesn't mean there isn't a win out there for me.

franklins is kinda bad honestly. just down the person holding the box and get a better perk instead
This, doesn't it make more sense to run hoarders, find the survivor with the box, down them (since they can't solve while you beat on them, get a chain hunt, rinse and repeat? Franklins is basically a waste in that build IMO unless I'm missing something.

We all knew this was going to happen when they added the rollback. Survivors have near invulnerability at pallets, so they can be greedy for the stun to their heart's content. I'm not looking forward to the screams getting removed either, because then I won't even know when I've been cheated out of a hit.
I understand the technical mechanic behind how the pallet stuns work and prioritization with latency, but it still sucks how that mechanic is presented visually. Right now as the killer I get hit with the normal pallet drops, totally fine, but I also get hit with suuuuper late pallet drops. Again I understand how that development works in the background but I think BHVR needs to clean up the visual of it somehow.
I get the same vibes I used to get on Gears of War and COD being shot around corners. I get what is happening but it looks like crap and is very frustrating.
-
Luckily I'm running DBD on a PS5 so the performance issues aren't a thing for me. However, Pinhead is fun to play but no doubt the biggest power he has is the chain hunt. The standard power is so-so but man when that chain hunt gets going you can literally run down a survivor with ease.
On an open map, I can see if being really effective and that's coming from me playing about 10 matches with no add-ons and junk perks because I only had 500k to spend.

Like #########, why people say its okey to camp? Dude I played match where I got camp at first hook, thats not funny nor okey, some says that camping its a bad strategy for the killers because the others can use that time to rush generator, but what about the person being camped? The game turns into a painful waiting simulator, this is a reality in solo queu nowadays
I rage at getting camped as well but in all fairness, if camping was against the rules I would require that Gen Rushing should be. It would have to be 1 for 1 in my book. Gen Rushing is the camp punisher so if camping goes so does gen rushing...as an example.

He could continue to chase and stab you multiple times in feral frenzy until you went down. It was basically throwing the game as the other survivors would be able to bang out gens while you did this and it took awhile but for that one survivor it was absolutely zero fun. You had an extremely mobile killer who could vault pallets who just stabbed you over and over again until you deep wound's to the dying state with no way to deal with it.
Ohhhhh that is totally gross.
-
@anarchy753 said:
I'd prefer on the weaker side, because getting buffed into a better state plays out better.
If you start too strong you get Legioned; "Here, have every nerf ever suggested by anyone online AND your power is gutted as well and now does nothing except mildly irritate people." Then they're not the shiny new toy anymore so they don't get another balance change for like 2 years.
I wasn't playing when Legion was released but hear they got gutted pretty hard. What was old Legion actually like?
-
Yeah, I have been trying out different builds since I got my killers all to 50 and am really building out the perk library for each. With that said running any killer but the top 4 feels just brutal without slow-down perks.
Most survivors aren't concerned with a large blood point game but simply escaping and to that end, Gen Rushing is just about the only thing Solo Q seems to agree on most games. I have no good ideas how to make survivors have more to do without totally breaking their game but right now it seems like you as a killer need to run meta perks just to have fun in a game that lasts more than 5 minutes.
-
OK so scratch marks are different now? I stopped playing for like 1.5 years and started back up around January and it felt like scratch marks were inconsistent and harder to track. Were there actual changes made to them?

if you're going against SWF groups, I recommending scoping them out when chasing, and not overcommit to chases. lots of SWF teams have one member who's considerably stronger as a player, the others are usually weaker as a result of not being pushed proportionally for the rank they'tre at. so... divide and conquer, then take out the weaker players first.
that and if they're being toxic, get in character. don't get angry at the people, get even with their characters.
that, and look at walls while picking up.
hopefully this helps!
This is really solid advice. So often you can turn what feels like a doomed match against at SWF into a 4k by picking off the weaker folks first. Seriously a game that would be 5 gens done and no hooks because you committed to their best runner suddenly leaves the runner alive with 3 gens to do and a closed hatch if you pull off and beat the rest into the ground. Nothing feels better than breaking up their little group by finding the weakest link and breaking the chain.
-
I've had a few Rancor ones where the Obsession is running loops, flashlight clicking, and all that normal stuff. Gens are getting done and they think they are untouchable. Little do they know I'm fine with them dropping every pallet on the map because when the last gen gets done suddenly they have nowhere to go and I don't need to hook you 2 more times because you just got Moried.
-
I play on PS5 but can you turn off end game chat on PC?

hahaha that's a flex for sure! But no, the DC penalty has not changed, it goes up in increments, kept short initially but increases the more you DC. And the penalty naturally decays over time.
Thanks!

I hope you also think as long as the survivor doesnt cheat/hack they cant do anything wrong.
I would agree that anything in the game for either side that isn't a hack or cheats is a legit playstyle. I think the thing that the DBD community is really bad at is separating abusive gameplay (throwing a match, exploits, cheats, etc) from frustrating gameplay (Tunneling, SWF Comms, Etc).
Too many posts on this forum talk about reporting people or asking for item/perk removals for things that are legit gameplay tactics just because they don't like them or they don't work well against their playstyle.
For example, when I play killer I hate the DS, BT, DH, perk combo because it's really strong and makes my game harder but I also use it as the survivor for the same reasons. The same goes the other way, I hate BBQ and NOED as survivors but always run BBQ as the killer (NOED not so much but from time to time).

I think they mean the RPG

yes I agree with you 100% brother. Especially if you prestige a killer and have to grind from scratch again. It's very irritating to have to unlock the perks again hoping that this time you will get the right perks. Prestiging doesn't feel very rewarding for the time you put into the game which is an insult to hardcore players
I will never Prestige a killer or survivor simply because the grind is literally too much time for me with no reward. The outfits are ok and I get the feeling of pride you get from a grind but in DBD the grind is too long to justify that.
-
Recently, solo Q Trickster. Every time I get found I'm in an area where I have no options and those 6 knives seem to take 1 second to land.
-
Another fun post and a lesson learned :-)
-
I would cry tears of happiness if I saw anyone toss a body block. I'm a 100% solo survivor and I don't think I have ever gotten a body block or even something like a pallet drop on the killer while being carried in at least the last 200 matches.

You are not good at killer for getting 4ks this way especially against solo survivors.
Thank you for listening to my psa.
4 Survivors are bad and picked selfish loadouts if they can't unhook a proxy camped survivor or do 3 gens during a camp...fixed.

MMR was great for me as solo survivor. I finally had good teammates. and I dont mind facing strong killers.
This is my take as well. Less casual games in general but far fewer potato teammates that basically made for a wasted game.
-
In all honesty, if you fixed some of the almost infinite combos by simply removing a window and changed the hedges a bit it could be ok. It's playable at the moment but not a ton of fun.
-
I've got about 3/4 of all the killers available and have of them all to 50 so I can start loading up my main with the best stuff. Even without the full roster the level 1 and level 2 grind is brutal.
IMO they should make it that after a Character hits level 50 level 1 and level 2 go away and every perk is level 3. I want to play the game and will spend more money on it but I don't want to have to grind out a new killer and then also have to RNG my main to get a perk.

Survivor Q has gotten pretty bad again to the point where I basically have to run my "I'm all alone" loadout. Small Game, Unbreakable, BT, DH. Basically, I have to cleanse everything, hope some gens get done, save where I can, look for the hatch and then maybe, maybe get a chance to open an exit gate.
Most of the time however it's just potatoes getting insta-downed after 2 seconds chase, waiting out the entire first hook stage before crouch walking across the map for a save with no BT, and then leading the killer to the hatch with 2 gens left. No idea what they are thinking but for some reason they always want the killer to know where the hatch is.
The killer is easier again. How easy you ask? Well, I got a 4k Devour Hope Mori with Trapper....so it's pretty easy (Only rank 8 TBF).

@MeltingPenguins said:
it became tunneling the moment you didn't drop her again.
Going back when someone gets unhooked isn't tunneling. Hitting them cause you cannot assess if they're trying to take a bt hit or just got unfortunate with the direction pick isn't tunneling. picking them up for ds isn't tunneling.
But the moment you say 'okay, they didn't have bt, they didn't have ds or missed it, let's hook them again' that is tunneling. maybe swap stbfl for whispers or play more survivors to learn where to hide.
Bwhahahah this has to be a joke. You want a killer to have a downed survivor on their shoulder and put them down?! Holy crap that's the most insane thing I've heard in months on this forum.
-
What if a hooked survivor could flashlight the killer? Only really helps face camping but that could be a cool add.

Is the MMR system in place across all platforms and for how long? I haven't been able to play since Monday of this week.
