  • Object of obsession (the new one) is perfect. No longer counters many setup killers, and is high risk high reward

As a killer player, i suggest removing the time limit of decisive. This would allow players to forgo doing generators in order to keep it active, allowing it to have a tactical part to it. You arent progressing the game, but later you could bait the killer into chasing you and wasting time.

  • I saw a clip that showed pretty well why.

On some maps theres places where you can just place traps once you've push a survivor to it and they cant escape. If he could have extra traps by default this starts to push him from territorial to an active killer which the devs dont want.

What they should do is keep is 1 "max" stat thats affected by bags, but also start him with every trap. He can't pick up traps till the amount he has is less than his max. Helps his early game, or if one wishes can start their setup later when they know what the final areas will be, or a mix. It also raises his skill a bit ceiling by punishing a bad initial setup since placed traps cant be moved till he has space.

As a person who mostly plays stealth killers, I find that spine chill is just way too strong. The ability to completely counter all of the stealth killers with 1 perk slot is absolutely absurd. I think the perk should at LEAST be on a cooldown like premonition, but then it will be just like it lol. I believe it needs a full rework, there SHOULD NOT be a perk that can counter an entire roster of killers. And yes you can moon walk to a gen, but that's just not a viable strategy. The survivor can literally ignore their surroundings and just look at their perks to check if the killer is coming, its such a stupid perk! Also forgot to mention that you get the speed bonus as well, which can be combined with resilience for insane gen and vaulting speeds! Please devs take a look at this very overused perk! It requires no input from the survivor, but tons from the killer.... FOR 1 PERK! Its like 3 perks in one!

I look at it the same way as calm spirit. It's capable of defeating a specific killer (Ghostface) but that just means you're wasting a perk slot if its not that killer, otherwise it gives subpar buffs.

    I´d suggest a different solution.

After 2 minutes of neither moving nor recovering, you can recover the last bit to get up once per trial. Unbreakable could be tweaked to just speed the process up to the current form (and the bonus recovery should fade after you got picked up from the ground once, be it by yourself or by someone else).

I always thought that after 60 seconds a survivor shoukd be able to pick themselves up but suffer from broken.

  • Distressing. Slept on perk IMO, allows you to kick survivors off gens easier and pairs nicely with IF.

I'm right in thinking it isn't intended right?

And if so, how has such a small (yet important) problem not been fixed in 4 months?

It was deliberate but the devs realised its a bad idea after it was done. He was given the low POV to help stop players kicking their shins and losing a rush on an object they didnt see

Why do killers think Haddonfield is so bad?

I'm not asking this sarcastically or anything, I just don't really play killer (and def haven't on Haddonfield the occasional time I do) so I don't know what the experience is like, and I'm curious.

Because its impossible to catch a survivor who's inside in any good amount of time, and otherwise its just Nascar Emulator 2021 when you're looping around a house.

  • If the survivor is oblivious, it should not trigger. An undetectable killer should have a reduced range on it but not fully disable it

    Do you play survivor much?

Obviously not if you think GF detection mechanics are fine. They've been broken since release and often you will reveal him accidentally when you aren't even trying. Sometimes you didn't even know he was there you were working on a gen and he gets revealed accidentally.

And often you see him and try to break him out but it just won't catch on.

GF reveal mechanics have been incredibly consistent since he came out and have never been fixed.

Actually, yes, recently I've been playing more survivor than killer, and I've had no issue breaking ghostface. The issue most people have is they dont play ghostface themselves and thus dont fully understand the best ways to counter him because they don't know how the ability works at base. I can tell you just by looking at a screenshot or frame of video if its viable to break him out (proved this with friends during a night of DbD while waiting for a friend) or if i should instead focus on breaking LoS/getting away.

  • Itll be fixed when its broken. To reveal ghostface you cant be too close or too far, and 33% of him needs to be visible

Let me explain this one the best I can, but I don't know much about coding in games. I am asking how difficult it is to code things into this game such as graphics. People say that the new graphics are poorly optimized, does this mean the code implemented for the new graphics is just not as efficient as it could be?

Kind of. Theres a system called LoD (level of detail) which reduces resolution and polygons of tiles and props. If its not implemented well it doesnt really help and isnt optimized

Erm... you know who developed this game right?

Do you remember the "QOL" update that they did where they made it so you could stun or blind the killer at any point during the pick up animation because they thought it was too hard for rank 20s to do?

Yeah.. these same devs previously did an update to reduce the blind from 180 degrees to killer fov size (30 degrees?). Survivors naturally balled their eyes out on the forums and scared the devs into reducing it and they made it just outside the killer fov, but only just.

It seems they have been slowly increasing it back to 180 deg in the hopes killers don't notice.

you can see it in action on tru3tallents stream yesterday where he turns away from a flashlight and it continues to blind him when it shouldn't.

I dont think this is it, i think theyre just jank. I got blinded from right behind me the other day

That should be of no business to you of whether they are doing a gen or not. You can do a gen with sprint burst ready too. Dead Hard as well. You think those are unfair too? How is it fair for the killer to use the perks they do, which btw none are only one time use. Explain how it is fair for me to do a gen and you are told I almost have it done so you can hide your terror radius for a surprise attack to stop it, regress it? Let me guess...you think that is fair. But let me remind you, it is not even a 1-time use perk.

Killers need to grow a pair and stop being like step-children with the devs and asking them to give you free kills. The game is already entirely too easy for killers.

All those other perks can be outplayed by a smart enough, and can even be blocked if the killer really doesnt like it (mindbreaker). Also, we may not have one use only perks, but we do have hex perks that usually disappear before you find a survivor, especially now their only decent protection got nerfed. A survivor can chose to save DS, a killer cant chose when a totem lights or even where.

oddest thing though.... i did a scratched mirror which rarely gets good chaser points or emblem progress and not only did I 4K but I got about 24K points, AND 4 iri emblems! lol

A correctly played SM myers does well in chaser. If you hit and immedietly abandon chase its considered won

I always try to be at least a fair killer. I try not to tunnel. I try not to camp. Hell, if I'm dominating a game, I'll take my foot off the gas (maybe instead of hooking that guy for the third time, I'll let him lie on the ground and get picked back up).

But I 10000% understand why some killers get so salty over survivor behavior that I get why killers become jerks. It's amazing how many times I'll let someone get up only to find them in the end game sitting in the gate area T-Bagging so fast I'm amazed they don't pull a groin muscle.

This. I'm stomping you? Expect me to let you get a play (such as me walking right pass you as if you just managed to hide, even if you were so obvious neon legion could hide better) as well just wander the map instead of actively patrolling PoI's. I might even set up scarier moments where I pass by, before suddenly jumping you when you think you're safe instead of just "Get out of that locker meg, we're going on an adventure to the nearest hook."

Be toxic tho, and I wont give the same privilege. I will remove you from the game by force.

This. I will happily go for the unhooker if i can, but if i can't find them I can't exactly afford to just let you go (unless you give me a good reason to, say by ratting out the unhooker xd)

  • Using whatever is at hand, you stab at your aggressor in an ultimate attempt to escape.

After being unhooked or unhooking yourself, Decisive Strike will become active and usable for 40/50/60 seconds or until healed a health state. The timer pauses whilst in the dying state.

While Decisive Strike is active, when grabbed by the Killer, succeed a Skill Check to automatically escape the Killer's grasp and stun them for 5 seconds.

Succeeding or failing the Skill Check will disable Decisive Strike.

Working on a generator or totem will deactivate Decisive Strike.

Successfully stunning the Killer will result in you becoming the Obsession.

Increases the odds of being the Obsession.

The Killer can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.

"There's nothing to be scared of." — Laurie Strode

Speaks for itself. Survivor gets the ton of immunity DS brings at the cost of no progression until they give it up.

  • Contrary to how most people use them, I use victor to guard a slug if I wish to apply pressure over achieve a hook. Especially since you can quickly switch back and attack someone coming to rescue.

I can't see this "Nerf Ds" posts anymore. It's not even funny at this point. The perk is ok, not to strong and not to weak, like every perk should. So pls stop it, it's only good against hard Tunnel and that's it.

I have a Idea for the people who want a Nerf so badly. How about we Buff Ds for 3 Months to 75 secounds and after that we Nerf it back to 60 secounds. Here is your 15 secound Nerf you wanted to see.

(You know the 15 secound Nerf Like Pop ;D)

How dare you tarnish the Demo profile picture with your blatant survivor-sided excuse of DS being okay, nay, even suggesting a buff so the following nerf amounts to nothing, then strike such a comment and poke fun at killers losing yet another good perk.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/C22PL9XV8B8C/image.png

While I was mostly trying to keep them similar, these are good suggestions as well

  • It's nice seeing that not only does BHVR actually recognize it needs changing, but also is finally looking at it from the killers point of view.

  • @scenekiller said:

Just as an aside, I'm a survivor main and agree with almost any proposed change to DS I've seen, except one:

The whole "deactivates when someone else is hooked" idea needs to be thrown in the garbage. This would be beyond abuse-able and just tilt the toxicity to the side of the killer.

For example, an injured survivor safely removes someone from a hook, DS activates for 30 seconds in this proposed changed. A Spirit immediately teleports back, hooks the injured survivor, then tunnels the first one who just got off - but wait, they don't have DS anymore, and this happened in 10-15 seconds.

That's still tunneling, and needs to be accounted for.

An alternative that is player controlled is to disable DS when the survivor touches an objective, starts healing another survivor, or they heal over 10%. They have protection for 60s as long as they don't progress the game. If killer chases them, they can jump in a locker to force a grab or waste a hell of a lot of the killers time.

Basically, it counters tunneling, but at the cost that you aren't helping the team as well.

I love Open Handed, it's such a great perk to use when you're running Aura reading. I'm glad it's getting buffed.

Is Visionary any good? I'd run Deja Vu over that personally, it's really underrated for stopping 3 gens, even if it only works for 60 seconds at a time (it's one of the many perks with unnecessary limitations, unfortunately).

    Deja Vu: Stop 3 gens

Visionary: Slam gens over and over

Depends on how you want to go about it. Slow and careful or fast and dangerous.

  • Was about to get really angry, realized I thought you were talking about suffocation pit. Yeah Shelter is annoying af both for Survivor and Killer

  • @leviivel said:

i know, DS can be a bull crap perk, there is no disagreement in that, but when I enter discussions and see 3 nerf DS posts, its just baffling that so many people are still complaining about DS.

some people feel like their own “nerf DS” post is special and different then other’s, when it’s the same crap from each and every day. Just please throw the nerf DS posts in suggestions, I’d like to have actual discussion’s instead of same old “nerf DS”.

now, I do want a DS change/nerf, but I’m not going to act like it’s the end of the world, extremely frustrating yes, But I’m not going to make an essay rant that is completely copy and pasted from the other same post’s. (And yes I am aware that I am ranting about rant’s.)

tbh, short of storming BHVR's offices and holding them at gunpoint or something, the absolute wave of "nerf DS" posts is more likely to cause a change than one thread in suggestions the devs will most likely ignore. It's annoying for us, sure, but it has to be annoying BHVR too, and hopefully sometime in the next millennium they'll get the message.

Thats really gonna be tough. I'm getting more nervous.

This is your target (4 iri), dont worry about it as you can still get 2 gold and 2 iri at red ranks to progress so a mistake here and there is not only allowed but expected.

I'm going to do the ultimate solo challenge. I'm going to try to get to rank 1 by only playing solo and using a max of only 1 meta perk.

My current build I'm liking so fair is Bond, Spine Chill, Wake up and Dead Hard.

Please send me your prayers. And also how do you pip up the fastest?

spread out what you do. I suggest doing at least a full gen worth with no assisting survivors, 2 heals, 2 unhooks, and, have long chases without going down

I asked this same question and the response I got was:

"They can't tell the difference between intentional and unintentional DCs. Honestly if someone with bad internet is playing, it's on them for not knowing better"

So, I guess either they don't know how to make a proper DC system or they just don't care

Its harder than it seems. Theres so many different ways to DC that, to them, it looks like the connection just dropped. It could be legit like internet dropped out or game hard-crashed, or it could be someone pulling their ethernet/power cord or held the power button down

  • WE have burger king myers, is that not enough?

  • @indieeden7 said:

So completely remove potentially 3 perks from a survivors loadout? If this was made then I would personally also expect one that only allows killers to use 1 slowdown perk.

Already done. Ruin blocks pop and surge and can be disabled, surge blocks pop, and huntress lullaby means nothing to a decent survivor. Oppression cant be used with ruin and has no real synergy. I forget many other perks but you get the point

  • M1 killer means your only way to down a survivor is to m1 them without their power helping.

Trappers traps cant down normally, so he's an M1 killer

Legion cant down with his power, so he's an M1 killer

Ghostface cant down without an M1

    Plague is the same

    etc.

Nurse isn't an M1 killer because her power lets her dodge pallets and walls for the hit, and thus it assists.

  • Half the reason survivors get a lot of progress early game is because the killer uses bbq to find someone worth chasing or will chase the unhooker with a unsafe unhook because the stack from their hook is worth more than rehooking the survivor who got unhooked

  • Escaping shouldnt be a safety pip. Escaping with a low threshold of points in every category should

Why do you complain about being found first when as soon as you spawn you start sprinting everywhere?

Why are you allergic to totems?

Why don't you crouch when you unhook against a hag?

Why do you still drop that pallet after you get hit?

Why do you self care under pallets when a team mate is being chased nearby?

Why do you feel the need to heal 10 times a match?

    1. Because i could be hidden and not running and the killer still beelines for me.

    2. Usually because the killer suddenly came back or was camping with Undetectable when i go to save.

    3. I dont do this

    4. Im not allergic, i just dont actively look for them because im mote likely to run into the killer than the totem.

    5. I crouch, its the guy i unhook that doesnt

    6. Usually because i dropped it before i got hit, but still git hit anyway somehow.

    7. If i can heal quick enough and im fine on hook amounts and theyre not i can take a hit and maybe aggro for them

    8. Cause i cant loop very well.
