The same way the legion's button and the wraith's bone clapper are good - After the 10th use of the power, survivors just become desensitised towards the sound cues and let you catch them off guard
-
Ranking up as killer is as easy as ranking up as survivor. If you play enough you'll end up at rank 1 no matter whether you're good or bad. Whoever told you that getting to red rank as killer is difficult just doesn't play the game much.
Also, currently it's a lot easier to 360 killers on console (i assume you're playing on ps4 or xbox), because a lot of people are still getting used to the higher sensitivity. I know I've been whiffing quite a lot since the patch whilst I'm gradually getting used to the faster camera speed.

I really like the new lullaby, I hope it's ", new" otherwise I didn't notice till now. The lullaby is so cool imo, the voice is deeper and it actually sounds like an evil lullaby, it's great :D
The only thing I'm biased about is the laugh she makes, yes it's cool af and I love it, but isn't it an out of character addition? We know, till now, that huntress did everything just to survive, except the kidnapping part, that part is because she thought that the little kids would die alone in the woods. That's why she see herself as the good gerl, that's why it strikes me that the laugh was added, doesn't that make her evil?
So what do you guys think? Let me know down below.
It's actually not new - it's the same track, however, before it used to reset every time the huntress got in a chase (or landed a hit - i'm not sure which of the two), so you would only ever hear anything after the first minute or so of the sound track if the killer was doing really badly and struggling to find any survivors.
The change to the hum is that it now doesn't reset anymore, so we actually get to listen to the whole track on loop.
If you're interested - here's a link to the full track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNX0lFtVSSU
Someone in the comments even broke down the different nuances from each "mood change" within the track - i found this particularly interesting:
0:00 Upset voice breaking and holding back sobs.
0:45 Repeats what she just song but her voice doesn't break.
1:25 She starts to speed up the lullaby, and a small chuckle.
2:25 Really starts to sound deranged. (Going off beat starts laughing a little)
3:25 Gets into the lullaby a lot (singing it)
3:58 Laughs or seems a lot happier or jollier.
5:00 Loses it a laughs a little.
5:25 A loud good crazy laugh
It's really creepy and I love it!

The problem with dying light is that for it to do anything you need to stack it up. However to stack it up, you need to get a lot of hooks, meaning that you're already doing well. In other words, the times it works you actually didn't need it and times you did need it, it's very hard to get it stacked, meaning that in both scenarios it's pretty much a wasted perk slot.
I won't argue whether thana is a bad perk as well (i think it is), but either way, it stacks much better with sloppy than dying light. It basically punishes survivors for healing (especially self care) and incentivises survivors to stay injured. It could net you very quick downs if you're playing a stealthy killer like wraith, pig, gf, myers, deathslinger and so on.
My general advice for any player who likes to use these kind of perks is to stop thinking about slowing survivors down and focus on buffing your own tracking/chase potential. Try pressuring survivors by finding them and winning chases fast rather than making them slower at doing their objective. You'll find it's a lot more effective and fun for both sides.
-
Rarity doesn't affect the perks you get in your bloodweb. It's completely random. If you want to increase your chance of getting M&A make sure that you buy tier 3 perks as soon as you can. For each time you level up another perk to tier 3, the total pool of perks that can show up in the bloodweb goes down by 1 and thus your chance to get the specific perk you're after goes up.

So what you're both saying is basically "You don't belong at that rank because other people are costing you your rank and it's working fine. It has nothing to do with your skill level, it's all to do with the randomness of matchmaking." right? Did I miss anything there?
Why should we be punished because of others?
Well, I've cheated a bit and based my reply on other posts that I have read from this person. I just gave them advice that I thought might be useful.
I'm aware what I said doesn't address what they complained about in their post (i.e. depipping) directly, but it's just so difficult to take complaints about rank seriously..
-
Yeah, faults definitely feel much better now. When I play killer I realised i'm finding myself swinging wildly at windows less and less knowing that most of the hits that would have hit before won't hit anymore.
I can see a pretty big improvement for both sides from the latest patch. None of the things that got fixed were buffs or nerfs to either side - they were simply fixes of stuff that was busted..
-
yes
-
If you're struggling to pip, it's actually for the better that youre depipping. Then you'll have a higher chance to meet killers that are closer to your experience level.
-
As far as im aware it's mostly based on the length of the chases, i.e. how long did you survive without getting hit. You still get points towards the emblem if you win quick chases, but not as much.
-
Have you even played this game? Huntres carries 9 hatchets?! Nurse stacks 9 teleports?????! Killers have auto aim??????????????!

@Kate_Main_01 said:
I'm ready for the spicy comments on this one. <3
But it is my honest opinion that the exit hatch needs to open more quickly. If a survivor is 3rd hook and instant dies the hatch still takes so long to open. I just had a very, very long and well played game on the PS4. Honestly there were very little mistakes made by either side. Great chases, some of the most fun I've had as a Survivor in a long time, and the Killer was great at applying pressure.
I solo'd 2 gens by myself and despite each team member being hooked 3 times I had yet to be hooked once. I did 3 safe hook saves. I took the Killer on one chase that lasted almost two minutes, another that was over 45 seconds, it was just clever mind games around walls.
Unfortunately we had 1 gen left and the Survivors were whittled down. We got chased off of our gen, Killer chose the teammate, she was third hook. I stood on the Exit Hatch and waited... And waited... And waited... Killer had time to cross the entire map (Demogorgon) and RIGHT as it opened he had hit me a second time. Between hit 1 and hit 2 I merely pointed at him because what else could I do? Unfortunately, this Killer apparently didn't think that great chases and not having been hooked once AND having found the Exit Hatch AND reached it before him and just waiting patiently for the like 10 seconds to be over with merited any sympathy.
The Killer did nothing wrong here. He played a great game and he didn't owe me an escape. I'm not mad at the Killer, merely frustrated that even after playing a great game it comes down to losing because of a dreadfully, painfully long animation.
It's frankly unfair to Survivors that we have to wait for a long animation to play and then still wait another 2-3 seconds after it's done for the hatch to open. Also if Killer and Survivor hit jump/close at the same time it gives Killer preference it seems. Why even bother having the hatch escape? If the Killer knows where it is then you're not going to get it, you're going to just stand there. This is far, far from the first time this has happened as well. I think the fact that I had played such a long game plus not been hooked is what has taken me to the forums.
What do you think, Survivors and Killers? Whether agree or disagree, let's not turn this into bashing on either side. Let's be respectful to one another, to the devs, to the game. Happy gaming, all! <3
(English is not my first language, sorry if things are said strangely or very rambly, I over explain to make sure I am being clear. 🤣)
Quick advice - it's off topic, but i feel it has to be said. I don't feel like in the scenario you described you deserved to get hatch, because you let your team die without even taking a single hook stage.
The fact that you hadn't been hooked and your teammates were dead or on death hook is not something to be proud of. As survivor you're supposed to share the pressure, e.g. if one of your teammates is on death hook and you haven't been hooked, it's your job to take a hook stage for them. Sometimes if the killer ignores you in order to get a teammate out of the match it's better for you to let them down you and give them an incentive to hook you. That gives your team a whole 2 extra minutes to finish the objective in a 4v1 instead of 2v1 or 3v1.
-
Why does it still exist? So that a potato can combine it with a mori and win the game. No one who actually plays huntress would ever willingly use iri head..
-
Yep, it doesn't reveal you. They only now your general direction, as the perk icon lights up. They can actually pin-point your exact direction with pretty good accuracy by moving their camera around and paying attention when the perk goes on and off, so if they're observant enough they'll still know you're coming, but you'll definitely have the advantage.
-
In order of preference 3,4,1,2, although I don't really mind any of the options. I'll take the lobby I'm given

How do you not relize this is an obvious bait post?
Someone debating something unreasonable doesn't mean that the person debating it is reasonable themselves.
-
I think this is a really bad idea, because you take away any skill that's required to play around pallets. All the survivor would need to do is note down 2-3 safe pallets on the map and run to them each time they get into a chase.. then camp them and force the killer to break them. By the time you go through the last one, the first one is already respawned. Basically you're rewarding the potatoes that just camp every single pallet and don't even try to get into an actual chase.
Something like this will make the game absolutely mind-numbingly boring.

I feel like they should tone it down for stealth killers. I've been playing without headphones lately and it's still really obvious. Unless survivors are deaf, they have little chance of getting gen grabs now. rip jumpscare Myers and Pig.
Yeah, I don't have an issue that survivors have a better chance of prepping for the chase.. i think that's actually fair. I AM really upset however, that I don't get to jumpscare as many people anymore..
-
I don't care if keys are used in my matches, i get where some people come from... to an extent.
First of all, let's make this clear - keys can only be used in the endgame (i.e. once the hatch spawns), meaning that there's not much time left in the match anyway. 2-3 minutes max, Therefore everyone who claims that the reason they don't like keys is that they end matches prematurely, please have a think about whether you're being completely honest with yourself and others. An exception to this is when the game goes into a 3 gen scenario that lasts ages and the game does end prematurely if you get keyed in that instance, but that's so boring that I'm absolutely content with survivors using a key, so I can get out of that match and on to the next one.
With that said i think the actual reasons people don't like keys are the following:
- they rob killers of kills that they feel they're entitled to get if they were on track to beat those survivors
- killers miss out on a bunch of bloodpoints
- people miss out on pips they would get if they were able to kill everyone
Personally, I don't care about any of these, which is why i don't mind keys, but I do see why people could get upset if they don't get their kill/bloodpoints/pip.
-
Better work on your window looping and mind games! Pallet campers have officially joined the killer's team.
Seriously though, with the changes surviving for a decent amount of time in a chase will require people to learn to play a lot more around windows and LoS tiles and less around pallets. It will take some time getting used to for sure, but it's not all that bad.

On the bright side, at least I can hear tier 1 Myers breathing from a mile away now.... Not good for him tho.

Not going to lie, this sounds a bit disgusting. I don't enjoy billy's gargling sound in my ear all that much. 😄 But at the end of the day, increasing the volume of these sounds helps immerse yourself in the atmosphere, so I'm actually all for the change (regardless of whether it was intentional or not)
-
Hmm, I thought wraith's snarling and pig's breathing were louder, but i was sure i was just imagining things. I actually like it, even though pig's breathing is a little bit annoying, because I constantly confuse it with a survivor's breath and keep looking for survivors that aren't there because i heard my own breath :d

Congrats! I like your icons, by the way

How has the matchmaking been for you the past few weeks? We've seen the countless threads about Green rank killers being put against Red rank survivors, and I myself have been finding it difficult to rank up due to this, so I can't find out for myself. But I'd like to know how it's been for Red rank killers, have you been put against survivors with the same rank as yours? Or has it been a mixture of all different ranks?
Screenshots if you have them would be helpful.
I hope this helps: https://imgur.com/a/TTvROHB
I played 20 piggy games last week and took a screenshot of the tally screen after each one - I got a few red rank lobbies, but for the most part I versed purples and a few rainbows. Some of the matches were balanced, but for the most part I had the advantage, as it felt like I had a lot more experience than the people I was playing against.
-
I'd say they are trying to actually make it work, so people are matched up fairly, get to play with a decent ping and don't wait too long. The challenge consists of what they call the impossible trinity in economics, in other words it's easy to achieve one or two factors, but close to impossible to achieve all 3 simultaneously.
I believe what's taking them so long is trying to strike a good balance between the 3, so people would be content with any changes made to matchmaking.

I have no issue caring what random strangers say, salty behaviour is to be expected in a pvp game, I do however take issue with unwarranted verbal abuse regardless of source. To be clear profanity is usually the least of it. Not everybody has the same degree of mental fortitude, I for example take multiple types of medication to help balance my imbalances. Frequent unsolicited messages amounting to ######### while playing a game would affect me more than somebody else, that you are able to tolerate it doesn't make it any less acceptable. As I mentioned before i play multiple pvp online games and I've never had to set my messages to private playing any of them.
I didn't mean this as an accusation towards you. Just wanted to illustrate a different perspective
-
If you're basing your playstyle and loadouts around defending gens you've already lost your games before they started (unless you go against potatoes). The best way to apply pressure is to injure and hook survivors - make sure that survivors who are not in a chase and not on a hook have no choice but to get off their gen and go help their teammates... that's how you win games.. unless you play hag or trapper - they use their own form of pressure
-
@ReallyComeOn said:

With regards to the toxic messages I would think you are in the minority, I don't know anybody personally who enjoys having profanity and abuse directed at them without provocation. You can ignore it or spin it but it's still unpleasant behaviour that nobody should have to endure.
Honestly, I would be surprised if he's in a minority not caring what random strangers have to say. It probably feels like most people are strongly affected, because naturally they would be more vocal about it. If you don't have a problem with random people spamming you with profane messages, there's not really any reason to even mention it.
Like bobcat, I personally enjoy getting "salty" messages from the people that I play with. Whenever I get something I always reply and try to see if i can poke a little bit of fun at them and get a stronger reaction (i.e. see how far they'll take it). The reason is I try super hard to make sure everyone has fun in my games which includes everyone getting at least 18-19k points, everyone gets at least 3 chases and 3 hooks and so on. Therefore, if I get someone complaining and insulting me I know for a fact that they've created some sort of delusion in their head.
If I did play a bit scummy, I'll just apologise and move on. There's not really any reason taking an insult form this sort of person to heart. At the end of the day, these are just random people that you'll never talk to or meet again, there's no reason to let anything they say affect you.
-
What's stopping doctor from camping? Desire to have a fun match. Same as any other killer.
-
Loopy. I find being chased fun and crouching around the map boring. I also get really bored when I play against stealthy survivors.
edit: I just read the part where you asked what perks people use. My favourites to use are:
- bond, so i don't interrupt my teammates working on gens whilst being chased
- iron will to go for mind games around line-of-sight blockers
- object, so i can get the killer to chase me
- dead hard, so i can get some distance if i mess up
- reselience+spine chill, if I've had some rough games and need the advantage
- fixated, to gain distance around line of sight blockers
- for the people, so i can get injured if I want to give the killer additional incentive to go for me instead of my teammates

Thanks for your input. I’m about to play soon as I get done eating. When people suggested perks, I realized, I either don’t have the perks or the survivor and I really want to try out the build I use with the tweaks that people have given me.
Sounds exciting! Good luck in your matches and enjoy the grind :)
-
I believe it's really dependant on your platform of choice, region, rank and also the role you prefer to play, but here's my experience playing the new patch on PS4, EU area.
I played about 7 survivor and 7 killer matches yesterday and the matchmaking felt more balanced - I don't know if i was just lucky or something got tweaked in the algorithm.
As killer (rank 1) i seemed to consistently get red rank lobbies - i think i only got 1 rainbow rank match, which was probably an SWF, so matches felt pretty fair, as in each game (aside from the rainbow lobby where the team fell apart really quickly) there were at least 2 people who were around my skill level and could run me around for a bit.
As survivor (rank 1) i got more red rank killers than I usually do, so again the matches felt more fair. Generally as survivor i get killers mostly between green and yellow ranks, but yesterday out of 7 matches I got 5 red rank killers and only 2 green/yellows
Obviously, I could have just gotten lucky yesteraday and my sample is pretty small, but my matches did feel more fair than normally
-
I had a huntress match yesterday, used mostly hatchets, but still hit a basic attack here and there. In general considering the way it played out I'd get roughly 25k bp for it, however once the match was over I ended up being awarded 1 Deviousness bloodpoint.... 1 SINGLE BLOODPOINT! 😀 And ended up with a grand total of 18k BP for the match.
Based on that and the fact that a few others have reported this issue, I decided that i'm not touching her until her bloodpoint gains get fixed.

75 felt the closest to the old 100 to me. 50 felt way too slow.
Oh, now I understand what you meant in your question. Honestly, that's a good question and in theory it should be around 75% to get back to the "old max". I'm not completely sure though, as the devs didn't share the method they used to tweak the max sens. The best thing I can suggest is to try out different sensitivities and see which feels best - maybe start at 75%, because in my opinion this should be closest to what it was before.
Personally, I had both killer and survivor at 100% before, but have now switched to 85% - it's faster, but still not as fast as to make me run into stuff. I'll probably increase back to 100% gradually over time, because higher sens is always better as long as you don't end up consistently over-rotating your camera, but that's down to muscle memory which you can build up over time.
-
They literally did the opposite to what you think they did.
Survivor repair efficiency with more than 1 survivor on a single gen was decreased, not increased. Skill check progression bonus was significantly reduced as well. Solo efficiency wasn't changed, unless you count less progress from skill checks.
-
If you were at 100 your cursor would still be at 100%, but it would be twice (or 1.5 times, im not completely sure) as fast. In fact, for me it was so fast, that it kept skipping frames when i spun my camera both as killer and survivor

...Because 90% of people who play this game don’t have those ailments? I doubt 90% of people don’t think the game isn’t way too blurry with AA on, and if you don’t believe it is blurry it doesn’t mean everyone else thinks the same and it doesn’t mean you should assume anyone who wants to change the blurriness is nefarious.
At the end of the day you do have a point and I do support the portion of people on here who are lobbying for various settings (e.g. disabling AA) to be implemented into the game for everyone to use. However if you read closely this is not what what a lot of people replying to this thread are after and I stand by my original comment.

The bugged animations and sound are happening on PS4. Personally I don't think it's unplayable (the actual movement is largely unaffected), but it looks incredibly janky across the board.
It looks really ugly, but it doesn't affect the gameplay so i'm fine with the cooldown animation.
Regarding peeking - i did try a few times and yes, you can still do it, but he seems to lean forward less, so you need to stop your saw closer to the wall which takes some getting used to.
-
I just played a few billy matches. Aside from the animation and sound everything else feels the same. I actually like the buggy cooldown animation, because it obscures less of your screen. The only thing (that I could tell) that he actually lost is the ability to peek through lockers and walls during cooldown. Not going to lie - i do miss this one ;d

Yep, I almost find lobbies instantly as a survivor, can't tell as a killer though, but the ping is so awful you can't loop properly.
Still better than sitting in a queue for 25 minutes. Im not even exaggerating - my controller switches itself twice off before i find a lobby

Wrong! I was on Haddonfield and jumped through a window and made it to the edge of the ledge to jump off. Freddy was still standing at the window and he recorded the hit. Hitboxes are very broken. My ping was green by the way.
Obviously his wasn't. Again nothing to do with vaults and hitboxes.
-
It's down to preference, I guess. I rarely play survivor these days, because my queues last up to 25 minutes. I'd rather play survivor with 200 ping than not play survivor at all
