it was just an intentional exaggeration to say people want to run current games on the old configurations they own. It's disngenuous want to prevent the company from modernizing and evolving to the present day because someone doesn't have something. The world is dynamic and everything needs to evolve. I'm going to ask Rockstar to dowgrade the GTA 6 quality because my PC certainly won't run it. Do you see how absurd that is? The game can't remain stuck in the past.
Mentioning GTA 6 is moving the goalposts. We are not talking about GTA6 here, as that would be DBD 2 equivalent. IF you want to use the GTA franchise as an example, then you need to look at GTA V. When they made the upgraded Enhanced Edition finally on PC, they kept the old version as a Legacy game for those who were not able to upgrade. The same thing could easily be done here, just make the new graphics optional.

People wants to play a 2026 game using a Pentium K62 from 1999. It sad, but, upgrade are necessary. noone can be frezze in the time.
That setup wouldn't even run the game when it came out, so that is very disingenuous.

Hello everyone. With the 10th anniversary stream done and the
roadmap for year 11 made public I figured I would give my personal
rundown of some of the remaining licenses left for DBD. I would like to
say this is a list of movie only licenses that are often discussed here,
so no games, anime etc. Also this is all just my opinion and I am sorry
if your favorite licens is not here. This post will be a long one.
In some ways there are still plenty of licenses left to add, but in other
ways with the addition of Jason and Art they will be starting to scrape
the barrel for major movie licenses. Also diminishing returns might
start to play a factor in if a license is worth it for them to add due
to cost of said license vs. income gained from it.
First of all Behaviour has in my opinion three major white whales
left to add to the game. 1. Pennywise/It. 2. Predator. 3. Candyman.
Pennywise is the biggest one left, if they ever get the license he
is in, but rumors have it Stephen King is hard to play ball with. Still
with a new season of Welcome to Derry coming the chance is there.
Predator. This is more a sooner rather than later case and would
not surprise me if next year's anniversary chapter is Predator.
Behaviour seems to have a great working relationship with Disney/Fox
with alien after all.
Candyman. Probably the least likely at this point with the passing
of Tony Todd. Not impossible if they sample lines from the movie for
voices or get someone that can sound like Tony Todd or have him be
silent. Worse case they go the 2021 movie route and make it a “new”
Candyman killer aka a Freddy 2.0 scenario.
Licenses with a big chance of making it. These licenses are popular and would rake in good money etc.
- Jurassic Park/World: Plenty of survivors and skins to pick from. Raptor or Indoraptor as killer. Great map potential.
- The Conjuring: They have a working relationship with
Blumhouse/Atomic monsters. The Nun as a killer and Warrens as survivors.
- Star Wars: As much as I would hate seeing Vader (THE iconic
movie villain) being tea-bagged and pallet stunned, it is a possible
license.- Terminator: The first movie is straight up a slasher and it
would fit perfectly. They used to have the license for the cancelled
Deathgarden game.- Jaws: Survivor only chapter. Hooper and Quint would be perfect
survivors. So would Sheriff Brody but the Scheider estate is hard to
play ball with.- X-Files. Survivor only chapter. Just give us Scully and Mulder already.
Honorable mentions that are highly popular, but unlikely to make
it due to licensing issues or difficulty to fit into the game imo, but
still might be possible, The Shining, The Thing, Silence of the Lamb.
American Psycho and the Exorcist.Licenses with a chance to make it but diminishing returns might
start to kick in for Behaviour due to lack of popularity etc.- Phantasm: I would love to see the Tall man as a killer in DBD so
much. His spheres are a perfect power with minions to boot. Reggie is a
perfect survivor. The license owner Don Coscarelli has shown interest
before. Unfortunately the license is kinda niche and Reggie Bannister is
in hospice care and Angus Scrimm passed in 2016.- M3gan: The first movie was a major hit, the second one not so
much. Might still have a good chance of making it due to the
relationship with Blumhouse/Atomic Monsters.- Thanksgiving: John Carver would fit well, maybe with the second movie coming.
- My bloody Valentine: Canada’s famous slasher movie and with an
iconic killer look in the miner/ Harry Warden, probably still too niche
to make sense and a kinda dead IP.- Leprechaun: Again niche, but dang it would be a hoot to play as
the Leprechaun collecting your gold from the pesky survivors and cursing
them along the way.- The Grudge: Kinda a dead IP atm at least in the west.
- Hatchet: Victor Crowley would fit right into the game, but the
IP is kinda dormant atm and Victor's thunder kinda passed in the early
10’s.Oh damn I had no idea Reggie Bannister was in hospice care. That makes me very sad, not just for the license in DBD but for him. I am a huge phan of the Phantasm franchise so that makes me genuinely sad.

All my PC stuff is unlocked and present when I play on my Switch, but the stuff I bought on Switch isn't unlocked on PC. Sadly, it's a one way street like that.
That's why I always buy all my content and auric cells on PC, since it's the only way that I can access it on both platforms.
That seems backwards to me. You'd think Nintendo wouldn't want you to get the DLCs for free, but it's that they don't want you to have them leave their platform? Yeah, that seems backwards.

You seemed to have missed that @cogsturning replied to a specific reply which mentioned to do the same grind again. Pointing out cross progression here is important.
Even tho your general thread is correct, if BHVR does such a graphics update, they also need to do better optimization, because currently the game already runs worse than it should do with the current graphics and if they upgrade the graphics, it might just get even worse.
That still assumes one has access to other platforms to cross-progress onto.

You don't lose your account/progress. You just need to cross progress on your new platform. Many people use more than one platform with the same account.
Not everyone has the game on more than one platform nor the financial states to get another platform. That's the entire point of this thread, which you seem to have missed.

Data transfer? What does that have to do with anything? Yo mean switch platforms? Yea, if it came to buying a PS5 or upgrading my computer, I'd upgrade my computer. Neither is an option for me financially with the way prices have skyrocketed.

But it will result in huge Delays in Updates on multiple platforms
Yea, there is no 'may quit' for me. if my PC can no longer run the game, quitting won't be my choice.

If you mean the upcoming graphical update that is in development, yes… That's my concern too, though I am a PC user. I'm more likely to be able to afford a PS5 than I am to be able to upgrade my PC anytime soon and I say more likely as in still not something I can afford.

This was end game chat, but kind of funny. So I was playing The Pig and two survivors were dead. Ash had an active trap on his head, Jill had just finished the last generator after running me all match almost once I started chasing her. She opens the door and starts BMing at the exit gates as survivors do. I down her, and hook her. Now, this is before the days of not being able to off yourself, so what does she do? She holds on… doesn't try to get herself off the hook. Two full hook states, then during her final struggle phase Ash's head pops and she's sacrificed.
End game, Jill starts going off on me about how I only managed to down her because she was a team player. She wasn't going to leave Ash behind. I told her he had an active trap, she should have just left and given him a chance for hatch, but instead she forced him to keep searching traps instead, and… well, he failed. She wasn't having it, she told me that I must be an only child because I didn't know what it meant to be a team player. -

That doesn't sound right, as Peanits has said in the past that whenever a person DCs in game, results are voided for that specific player. Since abandons are functionally the same as DCs (just minus penalty), I can't see why it wouldn't work the same way. Because otherwise, as you said, they'd have no data. Peanits said the non-DCing players still get MMR gains or losses as normal for their progression that game.
@Aven_Fallen said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4085664#Comment_4085664
I am very sure that you misunderstood something here. For the stats BHVR releases matches are not included if they contain a DC. But for the MMR gain/loss matches with DCs count in general, they are just voided for the player. Consindering how many Survivors simply DC when they are the last one, the majority of the games would be insignificant for the MMR, which just is not true.
@cogsturning said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4085664#Comment_4085664
They've made very little statements about abandons and their effects on matches since they were installed. As others above said you're mixing up DCs and abandons.
The problem with abandons is I recall them saying that bots give no MMR, being empty shells, so you can essentially smurf by repeatedly slugging, or 4man slugging, to try to make people abandon. I also regularly get survivor teams that will try to get me to down everyone when it's going badly so they can all abandon. They're probably just doing it to go next but if it allows them to keep MMR they should have lost, the system is even worse than it appears on the surface.
Well, it was a moderator and not a developer, so maybe they were wrong in what they said, but no, it wasn't me misinterpreting what they said. They said the entire match was thrown out. Bad wording maybe, but "entire match" doesn't to me say "just for the one player" and they did also say that on the back end, Abandon and DC are the same thing, just abandon is a DC you don't get penalized for with zero score and temporary lobby ban.

The MMR system literally says 3k+ gives the killer MMR. You can define your own win, like 3 unique nose boops on pig if you really want, but that doesn't change the way the game constitutes a win.
Streamers doing streaks or challenge runs are just that: challenge runs. It's all made up criteria.
No, they said that MMR treats every match as 1v1 with each survivor. So, just killing 1 survivor? That's one 1 win for the killer according to MMR. Also you don't gain and lose the same amounts from what I understand. You can get a 2K and still gain MMR, not to mention survivors is binary based on you, not your friends. If you die making sure your 3 buddies get out, that's a loss for you and a win for your buddies. You lose MMR. MMR is not and should not be considered as a "win condition" I actually know this personally, as I tend to play very altruistically so my MMR is trash. I never escape, but quite often everyone else on my team does. Should I not consider that a win the same as you think the killer should? According to the MMR system it is NOT a win for me.
-
One of the moderators (forget who) on this forum clarified that if ANYONE abandons at any time (rather than exiting normally from the end-game lobby when the match is finished) then the entire match is throw out for all BHVR data.
Which I find funny, as if that moderator was correct, how many survivors will abandon during the Mori? Entire match just never happened for ANYONE. No MMR gain, no MMR loss, no data on kills and escapes for BHVR… nothing… The match never happened. You got your BP that's it. -
Slugging will stop being a problem when killers are not actively punished for hooking survivors by many existing and future perks.

3k is a win, hatch means absolutely nothing. There's nothing stopping the killer from hooking the 3rd survivor. The only people slugging for 4k's are killer mains who tie their entire ego with being a good killer player lol.
This game doesn't have a defined number of kills or escapes that constitutes a win. Some streamers who do kill streaks see it the way you do. 3K and let the last survivor have hatch. Some will only accept a 4K.
If you want to talk about ego, what about the ego of survivor mains who think they have to get everyone out so bring Dead hard, Decisive Strike, We'll Make It, etc.? 3-4 seco9nc chance perks. Sounds stupid to call that an ego problem, right? So it the idea of a killer wanting to win the game their way being an ego problem. -

Yes, on their website… Which lists only Steam, Epic, Playstation, Xbox, Windows Store, and Switch. Everywhere else is third party and you purchase from them at your own risk. They might be legitimate keys, they might be stolen. You have no way of knowing, and if they are stolen and you used one, at best it gets revoked and you get no refund, but seems BHVR will go so far as to ban you. So those third party websites are not worth it, no matter the discount.

Hey there! You mention not liking this perk from a values and conceptual POV. Would you be able to elaborate on what specifically you're not liking about it?
Honestly, this is a KILLER PERK. Seriously, I say this as a P100 Pig Main. Unless the survivors are in a dedicated 4 man SWF that knows one or more of them are running this perk, it's very likely to screw over your team more than help them, as most survivors are not consistently able to hit great skill checks.
Also, don't get me started on the recent influx of "permanent generator progress" perks. Not a fan, but this one I could deal with, since it really is a killer perk. -
Nah, this is a great Killer perk, they should leave it unchanged.

Well, sort of. They still exist, but they changed it from map repeat prevention to realm repeat prevention. So it used to be say Badham Preschool was the worst. 5 different maps, all pretty much the same but with VERY MINOR changes. So you wouldn't get Badham Preschool 3 twice in a row, but you could get the other 4. Now, you will never get ANY Bahham Preschool map twice in a row.

Agreed I think most killers belong in 2v8 but plague is the rare exception cause she has the same problem as legion she would need a total power rework or like a skull merchant treatment to be able to be in the mode
I do not believe The Legion was ever a problem. The problem was The Legion paired with The Oni. This means I think the real problem is The Oni. 8 survivors is just too many blood orbs scattered across the map, even without The Legion's quick injuries. What they should do is re-enable The Legion but make The Oni's blood orbs only last for 30-60 seconds if not absorbed. So he can get his power up quickly, but not have it up non-stop because the entire map is covered in blood orbs by The Legion, The Plague, or hell even The Blight.

Most survivors I play with and have spoken to haven't really said this…To each their own but she still would be an easy add for 2v8. Just her and her doggy :D
I'm being a bit sarcastic, but really that requirement of "both side must find the killer fun" really makes it hard to add most killers to 2v8 as there is a significant portion of the vocal playerbase that will find any killer they aren't able to escape against on a majority basis as unfun. Just look at how often you get DCs on first down.
-
Yeah, his voice lines are not removed, that is one thing they wouldn't do as him even having the voice lines from Bradley and not a soundalike was a point of IP pride for Clive Barker. Whether he wants Pinhead in Dead by Daylight or not,(no idea if he chose not to renew or if it was difficult with him only being restored to Clive Barker in the US) he wouldn't take away the voice lines now.
-
Survivors don't find her fun, so not happening.

6 hooks x 3 tokens x 2% = 36% of permanent progress which you can multiply by 4 and get 144% if everyone brings it (not counting dead hooks)
now
6 hooks x 1 token x 5% = 30% of permanent progress which you need to earn by doing something and not existing in match. And you cant multiply it.
we could increase some numbers but imo its way healthier than it used toHealthier? Sure. But you MUST be the one to get the unhook. There are two other survivors that might be closer and get there before you and if you are not in a SWF you don't know.
Plus, I know this might not matter to many players, and it obviously doesn't matter to BHVR obviously, bu Fast Track is a Lee Yun-Jin perk and it made sense for her. Read the quote."The weak are sacrificed first. It's nature, it's business... it's the truth most refuse to face." — Yun-Jin Lee
Now tell me, does that sound like an altruistic person that is going to go unhook the other survivors, or someone that is going to take advantage of them being hooked? No, the perk is now completely counter to Yun-Jin's character.
Again, I know this doesnt probably matter to most players and definitely not to BHVR obviously, but what I said about how outside of a SWF the unhook requirement makes the perk very dodgy. Plus, run for 30 seconds there and back across the map to get that precious unhook for 5% progress, or stay on the generator for 30 seconds? In every scenario, stay on the generator.
Once again, I say this as a P100 Pig Main who hated the version of Fast Track added last patch, but this one is a complete overnerf that makes the perk detrimental because you more than likely will be shooting your entire team in the foot trying to get value.
But hey, wait I'm a killer main so I should love this new version. Let's go, it's great! -
So i am confused, where is this option to play in 1v4? is that only in 1v4 itself? If so, might have been nice years ago, but really queue time in normal mode as killer hasn't been an issue for me for awhile now.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4075470#Comment_4075470
I think it is at least a moderately-sized deal, because frankly IMO the most egregious issue is the fact that the idea of Fast Track has been thrown out of the window. Yun-jin has one of the most interesting perk identities out of the Survivor cast, and now Fast Track is a perk that rewards altruism… What?
I get the argument that Fast Track penalises Killers for getting hooks, but that has not been a real problem for 99% of its existence while its numbers were weak. It being overbuffed for one patch doesn't change that, and it's not a problem you can't solve while preserving the fundamental idea of being a perk for people who want to focus on gens over altruism.
This feels like a pattern of behaviour- no pun intended, where the theme is thrown out with the gameplay at a moment's notice. It happened to Knock Out around a year ago, but at least in that case, fine, KO would've been problematic regardless of if the Perk was strong or not, and even if I wish the theme was preserved, it was an emergency option done to prevent a trending and very annoying playstyle… But Fast Track had an emergency option, they could've reverted the Perk to its previous version, or gutted the numbers on the current version.
I'm not saying gameplay theme should come first before everything, but it should matter, right?
Oh yes, I didn't even mention that, but it completely goes against the entire lore of the character. But BHVR seems to not care about lore like they used to and players… did most players ever care?
Also gutting the numbers on the then current version is what they did on the PTB. But then this live version they added the unhook requirement on top of that… and that is what I say is too much. -
@ArcT said:
Gee. Would you look at that. All the people who had deep moral objections about how it 'punished' killers for hooking are now feigning sadness over it still 'punishing' killers for hooking but being nerfed into oblivion. Almost like it was never actually about that at all, and solely about a survivor perk being perceived to be useful, regardless of whether or not it actually was.
And now it's time to go back to complaining about Windows, Dead Hard, Decisive and how the meta is completely rotten and stale.
It's not punishing killers at all anymore. Please, run this worthless perk. That means I only have 3 perks to worry about.

Using Capslock does not change the fact that the PTB-Version of the Perk was never supposed to be on Live. When the PTB went online they already said that this is not the final version.
So any feedback at this point was not really meaningful.
They should have just waited longer and then put it on the next PTB (with the actual changes and not a placeholder), if there would be still complaints about a Perk which was not even that good. But complaining that they butchered a Perk while doing mass complaints to get the Perk nerfed is quite strange. (Yeah, yeah, you did not want this version, I understood. Doesnt change the fact that you participating in those mass complaints resulted in this outcome)
Yes, they should have. But they didn't, hence why I say that what we have here now on Live is not good.
Seriously questioning why when a killer main says that a survivor perk got overnerfed, ya'll still want to argue? I'm literally on your side here. -
@Aven_Fallen said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4075500#Comment_4075500
I mean, what is on the PTB is mostly irrelevant anyway, since they dont have much time to do changes anyway.
And honestly, having Fast Track on the PTB was nonsense anyway if it was already clear that the PTB-version will not come to Live.
However, you people can chill a bit instead of calling things broken Day 1 after release. It is not like BHVR had any significant data on the PTB change (despite them claiming they have), because the Perk was overused because it was changed. You did not even get a realistic picture of the Perk, because BHVR is so quick with their kneejerk reactions based on Killer complaints that what you see in this "Feedback" is nothing more than a bunch of people complaining instead of shutting the ######### up and waiting until things have settled a bit.
This is now the fourth time it has happened and since you keep doing this, there will be no other result, lol.
They made further nerfs to the perk AFTER the PTB. That's what this thread is about. There is a difference between not pushing changes from the PTB to live as was done in the past, and what was done here, which is further untested nerfs on top of the PTB changes.
I AND MOST KILLER MAINS i KNOW LIKED THE PERK ON THE RECENT PTB. IT WAS GREAT. THIS PERK THAT WENT LIVE IS NOT THE SAME. -

Then maybe dont do mass complaints for once and wait until things are settled before you force BHVR to do bad kneejerk reactions.
When things are broken, they need to be called out. Fast Track was broken. But, BHVR tested some changes on the PTB…. then when those changes were liked…. they pushed live something completely different. Trust me, if this version had been on the PTB I and every other killer main in my friend circle would have told them NOT to push this live.

Survivor Perk Updates Fast Track
- Unhooking a Survivor grants 1 token, up to 1/2/3.
- Hitting a Great Skill Check consumes all tokens:
- Each token adds 5% permanent generator progress (was 2%)
Do you guys think it's still op?
No, that's the entire point of this thread. The version on the PTB was good… This is absolutely not. As I say again, as a P100 Pig Main, THIS NERF WAS NOT WHAT MOST OF US WANTED.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
This is what Killers wanted, an overnerf. And this is what happened. So where is the issue now?
I mean, BHVR even did "a period of observation and assessment" in their own words. They forgot a "short" or "too short" in front of it, but this is what you get if you complain just enough. A Perk which was somewhat decent is now useless again, because people could not wait with their complaints until new toy syndrome wears off and BHVR listens to the loud parts of the community, like always.
No, I am a P100 Pig Main and this is NOT what I wanted. What was on PTB was fair. Not OP, but still useful. But the change from it being when a survivor is unhooked to when you personally unhook the survivor? That absolutely guts the perk. Spend 30 seconds running across the map to get the unhook (if you are not in a SWF good luck someone else not beating you to it) just to save 10 seconds on a generator? Wothless. I say again, this is NOT what most of us wanted.
Sure there are likely killer mains out there that want survivors to just come on perkless and stand there and not touch generators, but most of us just want a fair game. -
Yea, as a fellow Pig main this gives me conflicting emotions.

I could do it with my "Perkless Pig" meme build, but… probably not in match with more meta perks. Wouldn't be easy, but I could. That said, yes… Even as a P100 Pig Main, a 4 Stack like in the OP's screenshot would be a nightmare.

It was probably just a mistake I didn't see or something
And yeah as for the full price thing, I remember a system being put in place to allow outfits being mentioned for other legendaries? in a Q and A
I'd need to go hunting, but I thought maybe this was what they were thinking of doing it for down the line. Maybe the anniversary will hold answers.Yes, they said in a Q&A once that is something they want to do, but no time frame. So until they do (if its still even in the ballpark) is likely the only way MiNA will get new outfits.

It was a few small tweaks away from functioning, the bigger problem was how handhold-y it was.
All it needed to work was to be Bloodlust 3 instead of Bloodlust 1, and for a handful of killers to have their Bloodlust interactions tweaked.
It doesn't need to do much because the base reward for hooking is already good. It's just an encouragement to engage with that system.
It still didn't last long enough to be of use to any killer that would actually be able to make much use of it, and even they couldn't because their mobility is in their power (and it was even nerfed on them before they used their power that canceled it…) Hand-holdy IMO would be if it actually worked… but it didn't. It was completely worthless unless you were going after the person who tried and failed to get flashlight save.

Title, i really hope they don't leave him with base strangle mori. Really doesn't fit his vibe, he doesn't lay a hand on heros in darkest dungeon. But some kind of telekinetic finisher where he "collects" them by removing and animating the head and spinal cord would be an amazing nod to his character.
I mean they did it with Dracula's RIft Cosmetic, so no reason they couldn't with Collector. Fingers Crossed!

I play the game to win (when I am not feeling like playing for boops or meme builds) but also try to be fair about it, but if I manage to get a 4K using a total end game build before the last generator is completed and you see I am a P100 Pig Main running Blood Warden, Remember Me, No Way Out, and Haywire mostly as a meme build joke I like to call my "Perkless Pig" build because of how often I am able to get a 4K before any of the perks activate, am I a tryhard? Like even my most "tryhard" build is a meme build.

There's a major element of the game missing from your rundown here, which is what you get for hooking- it's more than just activating perks, there are basekit benefits to hooking that are very relevant and important to the conversation.
To simplify those benefits, hooking both efficiently progresses your own objective and efficiently slows down your opponent's objective. It's already good at this, spreading pressure this way is as effective as it should be proportional to your skill in keeping it up, and if you just directly buff killers for hooking you run a very real risk of tilting the balance too far towards making killers - especially the stronger ones - far too powerful.
The issue that does exist here isn't that hooking needs to be incentivised over other options, it's that other options can be too good for the effort involved. Slugging is completely fine when it's done in limited, situational ways, but countering very aggressive slugging strats can be dependent on communication and preparing with specific perks ahead of time, which isn't exactly the best spot for something to be in.
To be blunt, the way you fix this issue isn't by adding basekit incentives to hook, it's by just weakening the cheese strat some people employ. It really is that simple.
Something like 9.3's PTB info and bloodlust after hooking could work, to encourage players towards the already good option that currently exists, but even that is a little handhold-y.The problem with that Bloodlust thing in 9.3 PTB was that it didn't last long enough to be of any use to many of the killer roster that don't have the mobility of Nurse and Blight, and even those that could make use if it couldn't because it was also deactivated if you used your power… So it ended up doing nothing at all.

As for Lightborn, I rarely use it, but when I do it's because I don't want to have to look away from the screen when I know I am likely to get blinded. I am not epileptic, but I am photosensitive in a way that the current blind flash still hurts my eyes if I don't look away (thank God I was not playing back when instablinds were a thing… Just watching that video of Mathieu Cote being bullied on the Korean servers was painful, I can't even imagine trying to play like that.)

I just type in dbd on YouTube and this what I see lol
I play both sides though tend to play survivor more lately during the Blood Moon event and… I recognize and have watched both of those videos and 100% see where they are coming from This is why people say that solo queue is so miserable. I imagine many of you that don't see it are either like me and just don't take the game seriously enough to care, or you have a decent friend group that means you don't get teamed up with the survivor players talked about in those two videos very often (or at all.)
As a P100 Pig Main (as at least the bottom video is a P100 Xeno Main) I totally get it too, especially how so many survivors will DC because you merely looked in their direction, much less dared to down them before the first generator was finished… or before the last generator was finished. I wish I was exaggerating, but I am not. -

Let me be clear: I’m not saying survivors are at fault here.
But let’s look at the scenario. The killer chases one survivor while the other three each work on a generator. If the chased survivor has decent skills—and maybe some luck with map RNG—the first chase often determines whether the killer will win the game or not as this will help him get pressure if he can hook someone.
And still, survivors have 70 seconds to unhook before a hook stage get completed. This gives plenty of time to finish a gens and then go to the rescue.
Now the question is : Why would you want to do gens with someone else when you get a speed penalty for working on one together? Beside objective points, I don't see the point.
I'm not really here to complain, I just want to have a discution about doing gens solo
Time required to complete a generator solo with no perks: 90s
Time required to complete a generator with two survivors with the penalty and no perks: 72s
Time required to complete a generator with two survivors with no perks if there was not any penalty: 45s.
So, it can sometimes (not always) be efficient to team up on a generator (especially when you factor in perks like Prove Thyself or other perks that only work when multiple survivors are on a single generator?)
Now, when is it not effective? If you know where another generator is and can get to it, then do so. But sometimes it's better to team up, finish one generator, then go looking for another rather than not be on a generator because you're looking for one.
