  • Well...until BHVR rework the killer into something that even resembles something interesting people are gonna hate the Twins. I obviously don't have anything against anyone who plays them, you can play whoever you want and however you want and it's my problem to deal with, but I'm still gonna hate the killer itself for what they are, and what they are is one of BHVR's biggest killer design failures they've ever made next to old and current Legion, and Hag.

Is there any issue with that? His power was already punishing if used poorly.

There wasn't an issue, but apparently BHVR thought there was despite saying on record that they were happy with the way Billy worked pre-nerf

  • @TruEternity said:

The previous version of Balanced Landing. It was awful, got buffed, was fun, then nerfed back to awful. I miss the stagger reduction.

Please God no. I still haven't got over the PTSD of people running Lery's and The Game with old Balanced Landing. Can you imagine it on the new maps? It would be beyond broken.

  • As someone else said, Billy was the only killer left except Wraith and Bubba that didn't have a form of micromanaging with his power. I guess their thought process was "well we have to make it look like we did SOMETHING. Quick, make his sound effects more annoying and grating, and add a bar that fills up when you use the chainsaw!"

Shhhh the killer is not allowed to win. If he outsmarted survivors and they find it impossible to fix one of the 3 gens that's because the killer is an evil game kidnapper and couldn't have outplayed the survivors at all. Survivors can't lose, the killer must be cheating.

I really don't know what it is with you being so pointlessly hateful towards a side of the game but it's getting tiring, no? You could be trying to enjoy the game or taking a break if you hate it so much but you're using it to shout "survivor bad" on the forums?

Your right but ig I just don't really get why is there a need to avoid the barbed wire if PH could just force you to do use it anyway

If he's forcing the de-buff to hit you like this I don't think the PH is looking to win and just wants to get the daily out of the way so they can stop playing PH (which is totally understandable). And there is a reason to avoid it because getting caged or hit with final judgment cuts out a lot of time that the PH isn't doing anything, and you want to waste the killer's time as much as you can. The time saved by caging/killing is small but it adds up. But you shouldn't avoid it no matter what, if your options are to either get downed or make it to a pallet and get tormented, the 2nd option is always going to be the right thing to do (...until he does the epic M2 into M1 mindgame at the pallet and downs you anyway because it's a fun and interactive ability)

  • @Power_Guy said:

Also, if the Killer is in that status effect that makes him undetectable; he can see you if any of his aura reading perks pop, but you cannot see him.

At least as far as I understand.

Correct, but the perk still lights up, which will still let you know what perks the killer's running.

  • No it's not reportable, unfortunately.

But this post does give me another reason to despise this garbage excuse for a killer design, so thank you for posting this :) I'd rather play against a Legion with 4 slowdown perks or a stridor Spirit than The Twins.

  • @Friendly_Blendette said:

I doubt he will be getting any buffs anytime soon I have already seen some people call him the new freddy so.

If by that they mean incredibly easy and rewarding to play, and popular...they're not completely wrong. He's more fun for both sides though and that's all that matters.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/246634/wraith-temporary-invisibility-secondary-abiliy

this was my idea of a secondary power.

The idea was to give wraith some usage outside of cloak and in chase.

it could be use to mind game in short loops.

Why does he need something else to help mindgame short loops when his power is already good at doing that? What Wraith struggles with is long loops and jungle gyms, he's a standard killer at those tiles. (as it should be, he's a stealth killer with a ton of mobility and an average short loop ability with his post-invis lunge, it's fair that he has at least one weakness.

  • People are gonna hate you no matter what in any multiplayer game you play. They're not suddenly gonna stop tunnelling you just because a perk is no longer broken. I've seen people get tunnelled for playing as Lisa.

Any third-party modification comes with the risk of a ban. No one can guarantee you that EAC won't ban you for this. Use at your own risk.

If this is like the old versions of DbD that people have restored to be working online, EAC has been removed or bypassed, so it's impossible to get banned unless BHVR actually go after you themselves (and they've already said they won't do that)

  • I mean you don't "have" to use a controller, unless you're on console. It's weird at first but you can get familiar with it if you actually put in the effort to try. There aren't really any tips we can give for Deathslinger apart from 'practice', because that's all there is to him. You're playing an FPS, and the main way you get better at an FPS is practicing your aim.

If you have the controller for it, and you're on PC, you could also try setting up gyro aiming. Steam lets you do it with all the supported controllers, or DS4Windows also has extensive gyro settings that you can tweak until it feels right. I tried it before, what I ended up doing was enabling gyro aim by holding L2, so for example when I ready a Huntress hatchet, I'd be able to move my controller to aim at the survivor. When I didn't have L2 held, aiming would be normal with the right stick.

What are these "eyes" you speak of I have never heard of them.

It's a strange concept, but they allow you to see things. Most DbD players started out with a pair of eyes but very quickly lost them along with all of their other senses. Eventually their intelligence was also sapped from their bodies. It's a tragic disease that's very common in the DbD community.

BUT, and you're not gonna believe this, some of us managed to fight back against this disease and we kept our eyesight, our hearing, our motor functions AND our intelligence.

  • You're not invincible or invisible in the corn, killers can still hit you. Sounds to me like you went against a player that had an actual brain and a pair of eyes for once.

Trickster - lower the amount needed to remove health state. It’s ok on PC rn but on controller it’s hot garbage and he needs to be balanced around controller. I buff he’s speed to 115 until he starts to actively throw knives.

plague - instead of having to go across the map to get her corrupt power, make it a sort of teleport ability to where she can summon it wherever she is. If survivors cleanse, they shouldn’t have the power to waste more time.

Legion - I would like a secondary ability like clown has but with different ability. Something that maybe represents Julie.

Spirit - Add a sound for ppl in her tr when she activates her power(not the one she uses when phases but something to let survivors know she activated it)

Pig - more boxes instead of 4 and make them similar to trappers traps so they don’t get it on the first go.

Myers - 110 in tier 1, 2 seconds of stalk to get tier 2, not running out of stalk permanently on a survivor, have it come back after x amount t of time. I’d also boost his speed to Trapper speed in tier 3.

Problem with the Trickster change is if you try to balance his power for controllers it becomes increasingly more unbalanced with keyboard and mouse. He and a few other killers need completely new controller-specific mechanics (implementing gyro aiming with joycons/dualsense on consoles would be a start. You can do it on PC and it feels pretty great if you set it up correctly)

  • @sulaiman said:

How would you balance out the fov-slider? Because stealth is a thing, and should be, in this game. An fov-slider is a heavy nerf on that (especially with color/Brightness-filters), so how do you want to balance it to keep the stealth aspect? Or do you just dont want that at all?

I mean of course it would help a lot of killers, because thats one of the few aspects that make you juke a killer in the first place.

There would be almost no noticeable effect on stealth gameplay. The chances of the FOV mattering are incredibly small. If I saw a survivor in the corner of my screen with shadowborn, chances are I'll have spotted that survivor without it. The only thing I could see the extra FOV be noticeably good against is window teching because you can see the survivor underneath you, but you could already counter window techs by paying attention and looking behind you.

  • 100% agree with all of this, especially the FOV slider. Killer feels sooooo good at 102 degrees it's wild that it's not the default FOV. I hate the fact that I have to sacrifice 1 perk slot out of 4 (another being taken up by BBQ because of the BP grind) in order to play killer without straining my eyes. I can play maybe 2 or 3 games before it starts becoming a real nuisance and I just want to play something else to give my eyes a rest. This really is the only thing I want from this game now, an FOV slider is long overdue, it'd be such a good QoL change.

  • @Luciferr_2nd said:

The grind sucks, i hope they do something to fix it.

Their idea of "fixing" the grind is 50k bloodpoint codes and the tome challenges, the bloodpoint rewards of which are becoming increasingly more obsolete the more characters are shoved into this game. Hell they're so against making the grind better that the reason why a lot of perks are as bad as they are with cooldowns and limitations is so they have an excuse to give a perk 3 different tiers.

The grind isn't going away anytime soon because BHVR know how much bloodpoints mean to people, and it's one of the major reasons why people still play the game.

  • @MrPsych said:

OP, you should try playing Killer one day. It's actually fun and newcomers are always welcome!

Ooo idk about it being fun, what with all the important perks locked behind DLC killers and the grind making it so it'll take at least 60 hours before you even have somewhat of a decent build on ONE killer. Out of 20+.

  • @Dabihwow said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2170486#Comment_2170486

Well this build is basically a build that doesn't allow her to use her power really

Oh right I didn't even see the add-ons lol. Iron maiden might unironically be good here, you'd save quite a lot of time reloading since you'll be doing it so often. Apart from that I'm not sure what you'd run apart from the standard Huntress perks like BBQ, whispers etc. which you've already said is in your build.

  • Well it only becomes a threat once it's active. Maybe he was near a gen that was close to completion so he thought he may as well get that gen out of the way first before dealing with the trap, which is what I sometimes do too.

  • @RoboMojo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2170667#Comment_2170667

You seem to be missing Shadowborn in your build. That is quite the mistake. I would recommend you rectify it soon.

As much as I've ranted about how the base FOV for this game is abysmal, and BHVR are insane for thinking a game mechanic like FOV should still be tied to a perk slot and not in the options menu in the year 2021...I still refuse to give in to the drug. I will NOT be persuaded!

  • Swap out NOED with tinkerer and you now have the best Blight build. NOED is a terrible perk, ESPECIALLY on a killer like Blight where you'll be getting a lot of your hits with your power, which doesn't count as a basic attack.

Or if you wanted to do something that's actually fun on Blight, I run BBQ, Endfury and Agitation. You could swap agi for a game delay perk like pop if you're not comfortable running no slowdowns on him, but when you do I recommend going for a fun 4th perk because Blight doesn't need slowdown.

  • Can still win just fine with Trapper. Not as easy as other killers, and I'm not saying he's good, but a killer doesn't have to be good to win at red ranks, you just have to be competent at killer these days and you can win.

  • I was running out of breath just by reading that holy. But you're definitely not in the minority, a lot of people really dislike playing against Pyramid Head. If the PH actually goes for shots with his power it can be fun to play that little interaction, but that's obviously not the best way to play him because it's way too easy to dodge his power in open loops, which make up 75% of all pallet loops on the map.

  • Idk why you'd ever use STBFL on Huntress, you essentially have it built-in with hatchets already, you don't need it. And iron maiden is a nice perk to have but completely trash and I have no idea why people think it's a good perk. Brutal strength is ok. BBQ is a good perk for info, and if you really want to run slowdown on Huntress, imo corrupt is better than pop on her.

  • There aren't any trash tier killers, Trickster became "meh" after his buff and every killer is more than viable at high ranks, but I would probably say him if we're going off the lower-tier of killers.

  • Eh..how 'unfair' Blight feels to play against is pretty dependent on the map. If you, say, drop a pallet and he kicks it, if you're in a bad area because the map decided to say "######### that" to pallet loops and give you a bunch of dead zones he's gonna run up to you and hit you right after that pallet break and there won't be much you can do about that which I can see would be annoying to some. The low cooldown and how he instantly goes to his rushing speed also means that if you're at a pallet loop you're probably better off just staying at that loop and not really doing anything else based off the cooldown because you'll probably get hit if you do because it's so short.

Overall I do like playing against Blight though, even though it's usually up to map RNG to determine how many free hits he's gonna get on me during the match. When it's not that, his counterplay and interactions are really fun.

I mean doing two quick hits in succession without unrelenting

Might be STBFL? It's a very common Doctor perk because of Drey. Or they get a hit on a pallet, the survivor drops the pallet on the same side as the killer, the killer has enduring and gets two quick hits...or hacks...or lag...

Honestly unless you have video footage of this it could be anything.

Yeah let's allow Myers to get all his Infinite Tier 3 + Tombstone stalk on that one single survivor who doesn't look around whilst working on a gen so Myers can instantly kill all the other survivors without even hooking them once despite them avoiding his stalk successfully.

What could possibly be wrong with that? Sounds like fun! (for 1 single person that is)

Tbf that's how a lot of matches against Myers goes for some people anyway, minus the Tombstone bit. Getting hit with a 99'd tier 3 that you know you didn't contribute to and your entire team just fed him each time. Fun and interactive.

  • Any TR perk will effect the size of static blast, and Doctor has a few add-ons that also increase his TR when static blast is up.

As for the second one I don't really know what you mean, the recovery time from him laying down the shock to being able to swing has always been quite fast since his rework.

  • You can thank McLean for the object changes I heard he had the most input into this perk for this patch and it was basically all him.

Who would've thought he came up with yet another great change for the game lmao.

Oof. I couldn't even imagine playing a fighting game on the PC.

It's actually one of the more 'optimal' ways of playing certain fighting games, especially Tekken. Movement feels so seemless with keyboard inputs over a controller D-Pad or an arcade stick it's not even close. Might not be the most comfortable for a ton of people but it's technically one of the best.

  • You play better than they do, there's no secret tech to beating people playing with their friends, you beat them the same way you beat solo players: by playing better. Now we can give you tips and advice on how to be a better player if we know what you're struggling with (you mentioned bodyblocking, and the solution to that is hit the survivors right away if they're bodyblocking you, and unless you're in the late game you just gained a bunch of free pressure) but that's it.

    OOO broken because of comms.

    knockout? Broken because of comms

aura reading perks? No need you have comms

myers and ghostface trying to jump scare you? Welp you got comms to tell you where they are.

Comms are broken and I'm tired of pretending it's not

Since when have you ever pretended that you think Comms aren't broken? I don't recall you ever not taking a ######### on SWF at every opportunity. Unless that was a bad Joker reference which...would be fitting.

    They did nerf Spirit.

    • Prayer Beads reworked
    • Removed collision in Phase

Ok but did she get "nerfed into the ground" like I said, or did they simply change one of the most overpowered add-ons in the game and one of the most overpowered features of her power? And is she still a very strong killer that the Devs currently have no plans to make changes to for the foreseeable future?

Survivor mains are so cringe. Legion is ######### because of you yet you wash your hands. I'm so glad I started to camp and tunnel like crazy on every game. Enjoy your long queues only to get camped.

Yep that was definitely my fault as I, a killer main, singlehandedly nerfed the Legion to what they are today. BHVR were powerless to stop me.

  • @Lord_Tony said:

Anyone that says all killers are viable at red ranks never played trapper and it shows.

you telling me trapper can compete at red ranks like spirit and nurse? lol k

Man you overestimate the average red rank player so much it's not even funny anymore. When the average red rank barely has any idea what they're doing in this game, every killer is more than viable. I can play Trapper at red ranks just fine. I know there's a lot of people on here that could probably 4k with Trapper consistently with no perks and add-ons. The average player is bad at this game, and it only takes 1 person on the survivor side for the killer to be in an extremely advantageous position.

  • She's been broken for well over a year now and it doesn't seem like she's getting fixed anytime soon. Her audio and visual cues are both completely messed up on the survivor end too, she's a complete mess right now.

  • I mean it's kinda funny seeing an Asian gamer girl tbagging a crazed supernatural psychopath with a chainsaw.

  • The same as every other killer: Macmillan and autohaven are generally good, everything else is questionable.

  • Yep, that pallet bug and survivors never being able to stun killers and constantly getting hit through pallets sure was dealt with immediately...oh wait.

What about all those Spirit complaints? The Devs definitely took their side and immediately nerfed her into the ground...wait, they didn't do that either did they? Darn.

Ooh! I know one! Remember how people have been complaining about Deathslinger for a year? He's had so many nerfs that he's unplayab- wait nope that didn't happen either.

I mean if you wanna loop a single pallet against Doctor go ahead, you're eventually gonna get hit though.

It's one of those things that can happen because you're technically altering game files, but it won't ever happen, if that makes sense. People have been using custom icons for years, myself included, and we will never get banned for it. BHVR don't care and neither do EAC.

  • I mean this game was created in the Unreal Engine, and plenty of people know that engine inside and out so it's no surprise modders can do really creative things with this game.

...which makes me want a full GMod-style content patch added to this game more than ever before. There's so much potential for game modes and community driven features and balance ideas but BHVR would never do it.

  • "toxic looking cosmetics"? Tf? Since when were items of clothing considered toxic? You people have an extremely unhealthy obsession with this word I swear.

  • We'll Make It in F-tier?! Lower than vigil and BOIL OVER. That's...a first.

  • Trickster is definitely 110 the last time I checked and that hasn't changed. Either the survivor had subtle cheats on, they were cutting corners correctly while you weren't or they had hope.

Or most likely, this game is buggy and something happened that made you move slower permanently (which has happened with several killers in the past).

  • Well there IS counterplay, but the counterplay is just guessing whenever she decides to stand still. It's not meaningful or rewarding to play against a spirit, nor is it rewarding to play her. You don't feel like you got outplayed and the spirit doesn't feel like she's outplaying you, it's such a dumb interaction.

They have nerfed her already but it didn't solve any of her issues, not did it give her any kind of additional skill cap or the like. I think being able to see grass move as she phase walks through it would be enough. At least you'd have an idea where she's coming from if she decides to walk through it, and if she doesn't, she's either standing still or taking a route that doesn't have grass in her way etc. (oh look, information that both sides can use to form a quick strategy that adds to the killer's skill ceiling, wouldn't that be a neat thing to have in the game...)

1 … 5 6 7 8 9 … 63
